 So, the retirement process was at Ft Carson.  And God Bless the wonderful people at the Ft. Carson SRP center, as they managed to get done what needed to get done despite HRC's best attempt to fuck things up beyond repair.  I have nothing but good things to say regarding Ft. Carson, and nothing but ill to speak of HRC.

I started driving at 0730 this morning, and made SLC by 1800.

Tomorrow we drive up to Idaho, where I won't have to move ever again.  Needless to say, posting is going to be light.

Would I vote for him?  No, I'd rather cut off my own dick with a rusty butterknife than vote for any Democrat, ever.  BUT....  most people aren't me.  And if they're presented with a choice of RFK Jr instead of Biden?

Look, Trump can beat Biden.  He DID beat Biden, what he can't beat is the fraud, and I don't think he's inclined to go after the real causes of fraud.  Trump operates on instinct quite a bit, and for the most part his instincts are good, but sometimes he doesn't quite understand what is going on at a deeper level.  And often his instincts suck, such as him constantly attacking Ron DeSantis right now.  Sure, yeah, that'll win over the voters; attacking the one governor who's actually advanced real constitutional principles and turned a purple state into a deep red state in four years.  Why there's nobody pulling Trump aside and telling him that he's stepping on his dick with these attacks is a mystery.  But like most powerful men, Trump has surrounded himself with "Yes Men", and so I doubt there's anyone in Trump's inner circle who has the ability to warn him that attacking Ron DeSantis is hurting his campaign.

But anyways, I think Trump did beat Biden and can beat him again, mainly because Biden at this point is a rotting head of cabbage and we don't have the Kung Flu as an excuse for him to hide out in his basement any more.

But I don't think Trump can beat RFK Jr.  Because RFK can actually put together a sentence without shitting himself or sniffing an eight-year-old girl.  We need more than just instincts with RFK.  We need someone with some strategy.  I personally think that's Ron DeSantis, but that's why we have a primary season.  Besides, DeSantis hasn't even announced yet.  We'll see if he does.  I would be shocked if he doesn't run, but stranger things have happened.

Of course, the fact that Drooling Joe even has a primary opponent shows you just what a shitshow this country has turned into.  When even Democrats realize that everything is a dumpster fire and Drooling Joe needs to go?  Yeah.  Democrats never, ever attack their own side in public.  They circle the wagons like nobody's business, even when their side is caught having gay sex with underage boys working as Senate aides, or smoking crack with Russian hookers while fathering a child with a stripper from Arkansas after illegally purchasing a gun and throwing it into a dumpster near an elementary school.  Democrats ALWAYS circle the wagons.  This makes me think that the Democrats know they can't actually commit enough fraud to get Drooling Joe and the Cackling Ho "elected" again.

The abstract of a scientific study undertaken in 1994 has been making the rounds on social media, and it is shocking on two levels. Busy weekend

 Starting today I'm going to be busier than a dog with two dicks.  I'll post when I can.

The Biden Administration is not the only one with jurisdiction on investigating what happened. For more than two decades there has been a SIGAR (Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction) tasked with trying to ferret out all the corruption. Needless to say their reports have been largely ignored, but they have been tracking things as they happened.

Well, the Biden Administration has shut down all the information flow to SIGAR, and the Inspector General is pissed.

The Afghanistan debacle has been a monumental shitshow for years.  When Obama surrendered and ran away in Iraq, I said that we should have kept our forces in Iraq, where the country was stable and we had good relations with the people there, and left Afghanistan, which is a basket case at the best of times.

But because Obama hates America and wanted to cause the most damage, he dropped everything in Iraq and an away like a pathetic little bitch, thus creating ISIS.  Which Trump had to deal with.

Anyways, back to Obama's little puppet in the White House.  Now that Joe the Drooling hand puppet and his puppet masters have figured out that nobody believes their lies about the Afghanistan withdrawal, they've just shut down information in the hopes that they can get people to forget about it.  Kinda like how the FBI and the TBI refuse to release the tranny school shooter's manifesto.  "OH GOSH DON'T LOOK AT THAT!  LOOK OVER HERE!"

I'm so old I can remember when Portland was nice

Parents took a trip there sometime in the early 90's.  I remember the city being green.  Plant life everywhere.  Trees, bushes, ivy, and then the blue of the river.  It was beautiful.  I enjoyed the city, and I enjoyed all the funky, quirky things you could find around there.

The last time I went back was about 2011 or so.  Pioneer Courthouse Square smelled like piss.  But it hadn't fallen into a pit yet.  But now?

I think it's safe to say I'll never go back to Portland.

The price of fentanyl and meth in Portland is a fraction of the price found in other cities. The measure has been effective in making those drugs easily available all over the city. It has been effective in decreasing livability due to crime by drug addicts. Combined with our “compassionate” policies of free tents, free tarps, free sleeping bags, free food, and lack of penalties for shoplifting car break-ins, and bicycle theft, the low drug prices and easy drug availability have been effective in attracting homeless addicts from all over the country. They are overdosing and dying on our streets in record numbers.

Society has forgotten some very important lessons, and when they do re-learn those lessons the cost of the lessons is going to be hard, painful and very expensive.  Do you not let people shit in the street.  You do not reward criminal behavior.  You do not allow drug addicts and mentally ill people run your city.  You do not allow open drug use in public.  

Portland is well on it's way to becoming Detroit West.  REI is leaving Portland.  Walmart is shutting down stores due to rampant theft.  Small businesses are fleeing because they can't afford to keep paying for repairs and theft and vandalism.

And quite frankly, I don't need to visit yet another progressive city where I'll be called all sorts of names for saying that you shouldn't allow a crackhead to smoke fentanyl and then shit on the sidewalk.  There are plenty of other places that can use my money.

Somehow, I think I'm not the only person saying this.  Just a feeling.

The parasitic shitbags in the Biden junta cancelled priests at Bethesda/Walter Reed during Holy Week

Many people are aware that this past week was Holy Week, and that it’s the most sacred of times for Christians every year. The week includes Palm Sunday, Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem; Maundy (or Holy) Thursday, when the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper took place; and Good Friday, Jesus Christ’s crucifixion—all of which lead up to the celebration of his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

That’s why it’s mystifying that anyone would think canceling the pastoral care contract for a Catholic archdiocese was a good idea… just days before Holy Week starts. But that’s what the Archdiocese For The Military Services says Walter Reed National Medical Military Medical Center just did.

In a press release, the organization explains that administrators at Walter Reed sent a cease and desist order to Holy Name College, “a community of Franciscan Catholic priests and brothers, who have provided pastoral care to service members and veterans at Walter Reed for nearly two decades.”

The administrators in question need to be fired.  Now.  Not tomorrow, not next week, NOW.  And anyone who supports those administrators needs to be fired as well.  Hell, fire anyone who had anything to do with this goat-rope bullshit.  

Why the fuck can't people in this government understand the 1st Amendment?  Or any of the Constitution for that matter?  Chaplains exist to perform or provide religious services to those who need them.  And unless Walter Reed is shipping the Catholic patients out for services, I really don't see how they can claim that they're providing pastoral care to those patients.

Sexual deviancy/confusion.  The last four mass shooters have been trans/non-binary.  I remember the kid in California who killed a couple of people who was gay or bi or something and pissed off that he couldn't get laid.

None of the shooters that I know of came from a traditional, conservative, two-parent religious home.  Imagine that.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.  And the more it's normalized, the more we see actions like mass shootings.  I think that's part of the reason why they haven't released the Nashville Tranny Shooter's manifesto.  They don't want to hurt their narrative.  They don't want to prove people on the right to be correct when we say transgenderism is a mental illness.

But it is.  And mental illness left untreated always worsens.

Demonic Possession and Oppression

I first heard about demonic oppression years ago from Ann Barnhardt.  Simply, it is a human being that is in cooperation with a demon rather than being possessed against the person's will.  It's far more common that demonic possession.  In any case, I think it could explain quite a bit of the behavior coming out of Washington D.C..  And of the Vatican.  And there's at least on psychiatrist that agrees with me.

In a book he says is aimed at the well-educated with an interest in the subject, accomplished psychiatrist and professor, Dr. Richard Gallagher, delivers compelling findings from his decadeslong career to make a compelling case that demons and demonic possession are real phenomena.

For many Christians, Gallagher’s findings presented in his 272-page book, Demonic Foes: My Twenty-Five Years as a Psychiatrist Investigating Possessions, Diabolic Attacks, and the Paranormal, first published in the fall of 2020, could simply be treated as an acknowledgment of what the Bible has been telling them for centuries.

“In my experience, the idea of demonic possession is so controversial and so often misunderstood that I want at the outset to establish some scholarly plausibility to the notion along with my bona fides,” the board-certified psychiatrist, who serves as professor of psychiatry at New York Medical and a psychoanalyst on the faculty of Columbia University, begins in the introduction of his book.

To me, the fact of demonic existence is one of both faith and logic.  The faith question is this:  Do you believe in God?  Yes, I do.  Do you believe in angels?  Well, scripture describes them quite clearly, so if I believe in God, then I must also believe in angels.  

The logical portion comes in here.  If I believe in God and his angels, then I must also believe in Satan and his demons, because both of them are clearly described in scripture.  And if God and his angels are working on earth through people, as I believe they are and as the Catholic church recognizes in the saints, then Satan and his demons are also here on earth working through people.  And even if you don't go with the whole "saints" thing in your religion, you still have to admit that God and his angels, as well as Satan and his demons, are both described in scripture and are both real.  Jesus was casting out demons from people as he walked around.  One of the things the Apostles did after Jesus ascended to heaven and the Holy Spirit came to the Apostles, was cast out evil spirts from people.

So, if on a personal level you believe in God and his angels, then at some level you must also believe in Satan and his demons.  And if they exist, that means that they're doing what scriptures say they do, which is possess and oppress people.

God exists.  And so does the enemy.  Angels work among us.  So do demons.  Tell me, why else would you have so many people shrieking for the murder of innocent babies in the womb if it weren't for demons working towards that goal?

Why else would so many people in the government demand that you get the clot shot?

I'm not saying they're possessed.  Even Gallagher admits that possession is extremely rare.  But oppression?  Working with a demon of your own free will?  What else would someone who's working with a demon do?

Have sex with little kids?

Smoke crack and get his dick sucked by a Chinese teenage hooker?

Sell out his country for money?  That might just be greed, but greed is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason.

Constantly push for murdering babies in the womb while your husband is getting high and banging gay prostitutes?

The Long Slow Slide

The Chinese Spy Balloon wasn't blocked from transmitting information

 Because of course it wasn't.  That would have made Drooling Joe's puppet masters angry, and Drooling Joe doesn't want the Chinese angry.

The Chinese spy balloon that was allowed to spend a week flying over the U.S. was able to transmit secret intelligence to Beijing about several military bases “in real time,” according to a Monday morning news report.

Three unnamed officials told NBC News that Communist China was able to “gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites.”

The intel China gathered “was mostly from electronic signals,” according to NBC, “which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from base personnel, rather than images, the officials said.”

If there's one thing I can be certain of in this whole shit show, it's that Joe Biden isn't in charge of jack shit.  He's not in charge of his own bowel movements, much less anything that happens in this country.  He's a figurehead with senile dementia.

It's quite possible that China already had intel on the bases they surveilled.  But what they accomplished was letting America know that they were in charge, not Joe Biden.  Biden is nothing but a puppet, and he dances when China pulls on his strings.

Back home

 It was a good funeral.  Then I spent a couple of days with family before I came back here.  I didn't turn on a radio, I didn't turn on a TV, I didn't get online and watch anything.  I just retreated.  It was necessary.

Let me tell you about Tim

 Tim was born in Canada, but don't hold that against him.  His mom was American, so he had dual citizenship.  His parents were also Christian missionaries, so as a yoot he spent a lot of time running around Nigeria and otherd parts of Africa as his parents built and worked a church.  Or churches.  Tim recalled riding around on the top of a Land Rover because there was no air conditioning and it was more comfortable to sit up top in the breeze.  He attended schools with kids from all over the world who's parents were working in those countries.  It gave him a very continental view on life.  He never drank coffee, only tea.  I blame his time amongst the Brits for that.

In time, Tim came back to North America, and became a pastor like his dad.  But Tim also had a powerful urge to serve in other capacities as well.  And thanks to his dual citizenship, he was able to become a US Army Chaplain.  He had to give up his Canadian citizenship to do it, or at least his Canadian passport.  He wanted to go Active Duty, but his wife forbade it.  There's another story that I won't get into.  Safe to say that Tim and his now-ex-wife are not on speaking terms.

But Tim did join the USAR, and the war being what it was, the 82nd Airborne Division saw him as "available" and snatched him up.  So he didn't "join" the Active Army, but by god he was part of the Active Army.  Two deployments worth, plus a bunch of other time spent on Fort Bragg where Tim had the absolute time of his life.

Eventually Tim got promoted, and with the promotion came the move out of the 82nd.  Tim was still USAR, so he took ever higher level of Chaplain positions throughout the Reserves.  He lived in Canada because his now-ex-wife refused to move to the USA, so Tim would literally fly into the USA for drill weekend and fly back home afterwards.  Honestly that's not much different than the Chaplains who live on the West Coast and then fly to their units on the East Coast.  In fact, for his last two commands, Tim's home was rather close.  One he could drive to, and the other was a short flight.

Tim ended up at a unit in Utah, where he worked with a wild-eyed, foul-mouthed crazy son of a bitch who had no regard for anyone's rank or position.  That would be me.  Just in case you missed the reference.  We two somehow got along like peas and carrots, bonding over our love of BBQ and classic rock music.  Tim always said that I gave him absolute fits when I was in the HQ building, but if we ever deployed I was the only troop he wanted next to him.  There were multiple times I let fly with my thoughts at that current moment, and Tim would walk away with a shocked look on his face muttering "I'm not sure what I just heard and I don't want to know!"  Tim's wife divorced him sometime in 2020, because she's a stupid cow.  I saw Tim struggle, but I never saw him falter.  My wife and I would fortify him with smoked meats and plenty of desserts when he was at Drill.  And despite the Covidiacy and the travel restrictions, Tim and I worked our asses off to take care of our Soldiers.,

Tim would retire in November of 2022.  At that point he had remarried to a wonderful, beautiful woman who made him deliriously happy.  He had two step kids that he adored, and who loved him back.  Apparently his step son was as much of a BBQ addict as Tim was.  He was going back to school.  He had the second part of his life ahead of him.

Five months later he was dead.  The Canadian government will tell you he died of the flu.  I say they forced him to take two fucking clot-shots, and I damn them to hell for it.  Nobody who's healthy and relatively young just "dies of the flu" without something else causing the problems.

Tim is getting buried at 1300.  I managed to force my way onto the Chief of Staff's calendar to simply say that if anybody from the command was going to go to the funeral, it had damn well better be the guy who worked with Tim for three years and more.  There was a Colonel and a Light Colonel who were on the list to represent the unit.  They looked at me, looked at the CoS and said they would take a pass this time, why don't you send Dave?  Apparently I had a look that said I would not accept NO as an answer.

So yeah.  That's where I'm going to be at.  And pardon me if I don't post much the rest of the weekend.

There's a time to nice, but it's not when the perverts are trying to take your kids

 So it's time to stop being nice, Christians.

Today you live in Negative World, and Negative World just became deadly. No longer do you live in a place where there is a distinction between being a Christian and “fighting the culture war.” Those three nine-year-olds that the monster shot were not consciously combatants in the culture war. But we have reached a point where simply being a Christian means participation in the culture war is unavoidable. You may not want your children involved in the culture war, but if they bear the name of Christ, they are part of it whether you like it or not. It is well past time for Christians, particularly Christian leaders, to recognize this. You have enemies. You have enemies that want you and your children dead. You have enemies you need to fight. Your desire to “win them over” through niceness is a weapon they wield against you. They manipulate your desire to avoid conflict. They know that you are terrified of offending anyone since that will negatively affect church attendance. And so they have rolled over you, they have destroyed your culture, and have now made you a pariah in your own country. You are not going to winsome your way out of this. You can choose to remain silent out of cowardice, or you can begin to fight an evil ideology that could not be in more stark rebellion against the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

And having a mentally ill woman who called herself a man shoot up a Christian school doesn't help the narrative.  Having said mentally ill woman write out a manifesto that uses words like "Inclusivity" and "diversity" doesn't help the narrative.  Hell, the cops already put out that this crackpot avoided another school because they had armed guards there.  That kinda shoots down the gun control narrative that they're pushing, doesn't it?  Crackpot went to the Christian school because it was UNARMED.

The won't release the crackpot's manifesto, but the George Floyd vids were out on the street pretty damn quick.  And the Left got what it wanted out of that.

Weird shit in my head

 Had a dream last night where I was cleaning out my parent's garage.  Just doing maintenance and crap like that.  Had a huge spider in the corner, dragging along an egg case.  I'm trying to remember the horror movie from the 90's that had spiders in it, but it was kind of like that.  Think massive tarantula sized spider but fast.  I cleaned out the corner the spider was in, and it ran away, only to come back from a different direction and run at me.  Someone in the garage with me tried to stomp on it but it dodged, then ran right at my feet, and I swear to you I woke up feeling that little bastard biting me.  Full on, feet kicking, wake me from the dead of sleep nightmare about a fucking spider.

I think I have a lot of shit in my head that needs to be unpacked.

I'm not even arachnophobic.  Spiders don't bother me.

 Gotta go shovel again.  I went to bed around midnight.  There was a very light dusting of snow on my car, and none falling from the sky.

Woke up today and there's four to six inches on the ground.  Hopefully it's the light, fluffy, pushable snow.

Just FYI, Utah broke the record for accumulated snowpack up in the mountains.  So this is literally a record-setting year for snowfall.

Dad's second tour in Nam

 At this point he's make rank so he's not shoving supplies out of a tent, but it's still pretty austere.  After all, Marines.  And Nam.  But there's perks to his job, as he's now in charge of the supply chain for his entire regiment, and one of those perks is that he's in charge of the food for the annual meetings of diplomats that were held on a monthly basis in Thailand.  Remember, the Marines guard our embassies, and the diplomatic meetings were a function of said embassies, do Dad gets to order the food for the once-a-month party.

Said food being steak and lobster, because..  well...  diplomats.  And bullshit.  In Thailand.

But here's the thing:  The meetings were SCHEDULED for every month, but that doesn't mean that they actually happened every month.  And Dad, being a good supply officer, knew that you just couldn't have last month's steak and lobster just sitting there in the freezer.  That wouldn't do for the high and might diplomats, not at all.  So dad orders new steak and lobster, then takes the old steak and lobster, and goes searching for people who care enough about their status that they'll trade away a lot of nice stuff to get the food.  After all, he can't just bring the food back to Nam with him.

Enter the Air Force.  Not only did the Air Force desperately want the steak and lobster, but they were willing to bring in cases of Jack Daniels from the states to trade.  Yes, there was a lot of steak and lobster for these meetings, and the Air Force couldn't understand why some jarhead had what should rightly be their supper, but fine, here's some whiskey and yes we'll get more and fly it here.

Dad also got a nice case of the AF survival knives at one point.  All of it easily transportable.

So now dad has quite a bit of Jack Daniels.  Is he going to give it to his own men?  Dad knows Marines.  Dad knows what Marines and whiskey will accomplish in country, and Dad wisely says "Nope, not today" and trucks the whiskey over to the people who think they can drink.  

Enter the Navy.  Specifically the SeeBees.  Why the SeeBees?  Because they build shit.  And they have the materials to build said shit, and they have a mighty thirst that can only be quenched by Old Number 7.  And when Dad describes what he'll accept in trade for the cases of whiskey (and the knives.  The Navy guys loved the AF survival knives for some reason), the SeeBees look around, scratch their hands, and say "So you want this when?  Done."

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how my father's regiment had the only enclosed, hardened gym in country.  His Marines could work out in mosquito-free comfort, safe from pretty much anything but a direct artillery strike.  And they were a bit too far back for a round to drop on their heads at that point.

Later on I would take some of these lessons my father imparted to me and use them to great effect during my own career.  I still have some gear that was never on the books stashed away, that was traded for other stuff that fell off the books or "expired".  And whenever I could, I made sure that my guys had EVERYTHING they needed.

My computer is refusing to recognize the charger.  Meaning, it's not charging.  The computer itself is over two years old.

I'm about to just go get a new one.  And it won't be a fucking Dell, because I refuse to deal with pieces of shit that don't work.  I've already sent this one back multiple times to get fixed.  Apparently there's always something else coming up that's a problem.  I know technology companies like to build crap like that into their programs, and I refuse to buy another hunk of shit from a company that I've already given plenty of money to for a product that's not working.

I didn't need this shit today.

At least I have a cheap Chromebook that works, so I can do the shit I need to do.  But dammit, typing on this thing requires me to reprogram my fingers.

America has a Democrat problem.

 I know I posted about this some years ago.  5% of all the counties in America made up 95% of all the crime, and of course, those counties are Democrat controlled, Democrat run and Democrat populated.

So I saw this and went "Well, yeah!"

Oklahoma County and Tulsa are two of the 62 counties that were responsible for 56% of America’s murders in 2020. A groundbreaking study by John R. Lott of the Crime Prevention Research Center, revealed that “1% of counties have 21% of the population and 42% of the murders” and  “2% of counties contain 31% of the population and 56% of the murders.”

The 1% of bloody red counties include such Democrat strongholds as Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Dallas, D.C., Miami-Dade, Milwaukee, San Diego, St. Louis, Chicago’s Cook County, L Houston’s Harris County, Detroit’s Wayne County, Memphis’ Shelby County, Pheonix’s Maricopa County, Cleveland’s Cuyahoga County, and many others.

I have to admit, these days when I hear about the murder rate in some city or yet another shooting in a Democrat controlled shithole, I just can't muster up any kind of real outrage.  These people have rejected everything that would make a city livable.  Hell, most of them have rejected God in every kind of meaningful sense, and thus rejected all of the various Christian values that help keep society operating in close contact with each other.

Chicongo might have pulled their head out of their ass long enough to take a breath, based on the fact that they got rid of the bastard son of Groot and Beetlejuice.  But since it's Chicongo, I don't really expect anything to change, and the city will continue to sink into a morass of stupidity, crime and violence.

And should I raise my voice to say that maybe people should turn back to God and stop acting like animals, I'm called a racist.  It's happened plenty of times in the past.  I expect it to continue in the future, because when faced with the reality that these people have created for themselves they don't have any arguments for their life or their behavior.  Therefor the people who point out the problems must be insulted, shouted down and belittled.

I recall a passage in the bible where Jesus instructs his apostles that when they come to a place where people refuse to listen, they should shake the dust of the town off of their sandals and continue on.  That's kind of how I see the cities right now.  My main goal is to prevent the sickness from spreading to where I am.  Secondary is helping them see the problems they've created for themselves.

We'll see how many of them are left after a few years, thanks to the clot shot that they all willingly lined up to take.

Yeah, I've got shit just flying around in my head.  Lots of things going on.

My father's first tour in Viet Nam

 He was the supply officer for a Marine battalion.  And dad had a problem.  He could requisition supplies all he wanted, but almost every time he did, the requisition wouldn't go through.

Prior to being sent to Nam, Dad had been stationed in Okinawa, doing logistics type things at the logistical hub at that base.  So Dad knew where all the supplies came from.  Hell, he'd been the one pushing them out the door for a couple of years.  He knew the supply chain from top to bottom.  He knew what was supposed to be happening.  He just didn't know where in the supply chain things got broken.

So here he was, a junior officer, with his CO giving him the stink-eye every time another requisition went unfilled and Marines went without the supplies they were begging for.  And that didn't sit well with my father.  Dad wanted shit done, and done right, and done right now.  So dad gets a stack of requisition forms.  He fills out all the data on them except for two parts:  the actual material requested, and the amount.  He goes to his CO.  "Sir, I need you to sign these."  The CO takes the forms, flips through them, and looks up at my dad.  "You know there's nothing in the amount block, don't you?"

Dad just smiles.  "Don't worry Sir, there will be."  And the CO, knowing that Dad was a competent Marine who was about to go do some Marine shit, signs off on the forms.

Dad then catches a flight to Okinawa.

He had pretty much decided that where ever the fuck-up was in the supply chain, it was between the warehouse in Okinawa and his unit, and he decided to simply skip all the steps in-between those two points.  He gets off the plane, and catches  cab to the base.  He walks his happy ass up to the warehouse that he had spent two years working in, and just looks.

It's fucking stuffed.  

Hell, it's OVER-stuffed.  He told me there were pallets and crates sitting outside the warehouse because they didn't have any room inside.  There was boxes of shit everywhere.  Dad had to walk sideways through the stacks of materiel that was sitting around.  So he grabs his forms, and starts looking for what he wants.  Hey, canteens!  They needed canteens!  And here's an entire block of boxes full of canteens just sitting here!  He he takes one form, writes "Canteens, individual, metallic, 1 case" etc etc etc.  If you've ever dealt with military logistics you know that it's never just a simple description.  When I worked logistics I used to refer to myself as "Sergeant Dave, Military type, tan in color, one each."  Dad says he took the whole damn stack of canteens.  He couldn't remember the number.

He then worked his way into the warehouse, where he shook hands with people he knew, introduced himself to people he didn't know, explained what was going on back in country, and waved his stack of requisition forms under their noses.  And then, as he put it, he went on a shopping spree that would have made my mom turn green with envy.

He was the only passenger on the C-130 back to Nam, because his supplies took up the entire damn plane.  The warehouse had to help coordinate the trip back, as the flight officers were not quite sure who the hell he was or why he was showing up with case lots of gear.

Back in Nam, it took five deuce and a half trucks to carry it all.  He showed up at HQ, and the CO had everyone on alert because nobody was expecting a convoy to show up and they thought it was a surprise inspection from higher HQ.  The first truck pulls up to the log tent, dad hops out, hands all the completed paperwork to his CO and goes about stuffing his supply area with all the gear.  He made one or two trips back to Okinawa during his time there, and his CO always signed the paperwork without question.

Anyways, that's just one story about my dad.
