They shall not return to us, the resolute, the young,
The eager and whole-hearted whom we gave:
But the men who left them thriftily to die in their own dung,
Shall they come with years and honour to the grave?

They shall not return to us; the strong men coldly slain
In sight of help denied from day to day:
But the men who edged their agonies and chid them in their pain,
Are they too strong and wise to put away?

Our dead shall not return to us while Day and Night divide--
Never while the bars of sunset hold.
But the idle-minded overlings who quibbled while they died,
Shall they thrust for high employments as of old?

Shall we only threaten and be angry for an hour:
When the storm is ended shall we find
How softly but how swiftly they have sidled back to power
By the favour and contrivance of their kind?

Even while they soothe us, while they promise large amends,
Even while they make a show of fear,
Do they call upon their debtors, and take counsel with their
To conform and re-establish each career?

Their lives cannot repay us--their death could not undo--
The shame that they have laid upon our race.
But the slothfulness that wasted and the arrogance that slew,
Shell we leave it unabated in its place?

Spring has sprung

Harvested and ate the first batch of asparagus today.  It normally doesn't pop up until April.  Wierd year.  Tasty, though.

Saw Obummer's speech the other day

And changed the channel, because I knew that anything he was saying was nothing but a load of bullshit and lies, as usual.

Luckily for me, Ace has the best summation of his speech.

Understand, I Didn't Bust In Your Mouth
Per se.
Yep.  Although it's nice to see John Boehner finally find some spine and tell the truth about Obama the gutless fucking anti-American shithead.

"It takes a special kind of politician to be able to hold a photo-op for a project he’s rejected – twice – and personally lobbied members of Congress to block. The American people are in for just such a spectacle today, as the president continues his tour de farce public relations adventure," House Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday.

I got nothing

I'm sitting here with an ice-pack on my shin, reading the news, and thinking that I just wish that the damned dictator wanna-be would just get it over with already, so that the shooting starts while I'm still young enough to take part, rather than leaving it to kids and grandkids.

In other words, ram that iceberg.

Yeah, well, they can't handle the truth!

Obama, like most progressives, live in a fantasy world and can't have that nasty truth disturb it!

Let us set aside the obvious hypocrisy of a president who denounces the “1%” and calls for Americans to tighten their belts, while members of his own family summer on a Martha’s Vineyard estate, spend Christmas beachside at Oahu, and travel for fun to the ski slopes of Colorado, the luxury suites of Marbella, and now, scenic spots in Mexico. If that is the image Obama wants to cultivate, or those are the family pleasures with which he wishes to balance the rigors of his presidency, so be it.
Let us set aside, for the moment, the queasy feeling it brings, reminiscent of the air-brushed politburo photos of Mao’s China, to see news stories erased, one after another, at the behest of the White House. Doubtless there are security concerns here. Though, especially in the information age, it suggests an odd obliviousness to think that an optional holiday, entailing security concerns presumably serious enough to warrant erasing news stories, should not qualify as a legitimate story.

Emphasis mine.  I don't know what's worse - that the tyrannical dictator Obama is demanding that the media remove stories that might be unpleasant for his re-election campaign, or that the media, being nothing but whores and prostitutes for Obama, did so.

So.... Payton Manning is a Bronco

Who cares?  The Seahawks got Matt Flynn, baby!

OK, yeah, so they still need the rest of the team, but it's a good start.
