Garden work

We're downsizing our garden this year.  Too many things won't grow out where we are.  If this were my house instead of a rental, I'd be clearing trees away and making room for the garden to get more light, but I don't own the house.  So we garden on a small patch of ground that gets light.  We tried lots of different plants last year.  Most of it didn't grow, or didn't produce.  Our squash plants were flowering like gangbusters, and we didn't get a single squash from them.

So we shrank the size of the garden, which means pulling up fence posts and re-stringing the fence we use to keep deer out.  I'll be pulling the weedblock off the squash mounds and raking the dirt out across the lawn tomorrow, as well as cutting down a few small trees to open up our back yard a bit.  I'm keeping the larger trees so we have a canopy overhead.

It's been a busy day.  It'll be a busy day tomorrow.  But at least we're getting things done.

Leftist protesters are bought and paid for

Rush lays it out.  Gotta run now, so maybe I'll expound on this later.

Saw this at Ace of Spades

And had to share it:  ESPN demographics switched from Conservative to Liberal before they laid off 100 people.

Specifically, in 2015, the ESPN audience on average skewed Republican across all dayparts, ranging from 12% more Republican (Early News, Late Fringe, Overnight) to 21% more Republican than Democratic (Early Morning).
In 2016, every daypart on ESPN became less conservative, with Daytime being only 2% more Republican than Democratic, while Late Fringe and Overnight programming became 10% and 12% more Democratic than Republican – a 22 and 28 point shift, respectively.
The same is true across other ESPN properties. ESPN2 skewed Republican across most dayparts in 2015; in 2016 all dayparts skewed Democratic. Every daypart also switched on ESPN News from 2015 to 2016.
ESPNU was the only network that retained its mostly Republican audience. ESPN Deportes – the network’s Spanish language channel – became even more Democratic in 2016 than it already was in 2015.

Maybe shitting all over half your prospective audience isn't a good idea, eh?  I know that I've watched less football last year than in any year previous, thanks to the NFL allowing that shithead in San Fran to disrespect the flag while threatening a O-line from Tennessee if he wore cleats commemorating September 11th.

Oh wait, Kaepernick isn't in San Fran anymore, is he?  In fact, he doesn't have a job at all, does he?  You want to know why?  Because no owner and GM wants that kind of bullshit and the negative attention that goes with it on their team.  Because most folks in the NFL understand just how fucking lucky they are to live in a country that makes them fantastically rich while playing a fucking game.  But this is still the NFL, which seems to love pushing Leftist causes while threatening players who dare put their dad's name on their eyeblack.  So, really, screw 'em.

On top of me not watching sports, if I do go find some sports news I refuse to get it from ESPN.  I'll listen to the local ESPN channel here in Richmond in the morning, because that's the local guy doing the local sports thing.  Any of their syndicated shows get turned off, because fuck ESPN for being a proggie shitstain on America's underwear.

So yes, ESPN's viewership became far more Leftist.  But that's not because Leftist viewers were flocking to ESPN while the Right cut their cable.  The Right stopped watching ESPN, and nobody filled that void.  Which means ESPN laid off 100 people this week.  Oh well.  The only one I recognized was Trent Dilfer, because he used to QB the Seahawks.  All the rest?  Don't know 'em.  Because I don't watch ESPN.

Salt ain't bad for ya, folks.

Consuming fewer than 2,500 milligrams of sodium daily is actually associated with higher blood pressure, according to the Framingham Offspring Study report, given today. The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium daily, equal to a teaspoon of ordinary iodized table salt.

High blood pressure is a known risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Hence, lowering salt intake is supposed to lower blood pressure and thus reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. But the study found that supposition to be unfounded.
Moreover, the lowest blood pressure was recorded by those who consumed 4,000 milligrams or more a day — amounts considered dangerously high by medical authorities such as the American Heart Association.

I eat a lot of salt.  I don't sprinkle it on my foods, but I eat bacon.  I snack on salted peanuts and sunflower seeds.  I eat cheese, which has quite a bit of salt in in.  I add some to every dish that I'm cooking, depending on what flavor I'm looking for.  I have never once worried about my salt intake.  In fact, I've worried that I'm eating too little salt, given how much I sweat in the summertime.

But chalk this up in the category of "Things about which you have not been told the truth."  It can go up there along with "EGGS ARE BAD FOR YOU!" and "EAT MORE CARBS!"  And once again, the next time someone demands that you respect whatever bullshit their pushing " because SCIENCE and stuff!" just remember this.

This is how you get President Trump

ACLU sues a private Catholic hospital for refusing to mutilate a mentally ill woman who thinks that she's a man.  The woman wants her vagina removed.  The hospital rightly refused to accommodate her illness and need for mutilation.  The ACLU stepped in because Stupidity.

This is how you get President Trump.  A woman is not a man.  And a man is not a woman.  You cannot turn one sex into another, no matter how hard you wish and try and click your heels together and pray to the Tranny Fairy.  And normal, sane people are tired of being assaulted and abused for understanding those basic facts.

This is what Marxism always devolves into:

Fascists, commie, Marxist thugs using force to shut people down.  This is why allowing commies and other various flavors of Marxist into government always results in tyranny.

One of the staples of Portland, Oregon —”Portlandia” to TV viewers— is the annual Rose Festival, now in its 82nd year, and it has for several years now featured a kickoff parade, akin to the Rose Parade in Pasadena on January 1 every year. But this year’s parade, scheduled for this weekend, has been cancelled. The reason: It was going to include—gasp—Republicans! And this is too much for the hardened left, which threatens to shutdown the parade by violent means if it includes Republicans. And the city of Portland has caved.

I think the Multnomah County Republicans should still do the parade.  With guns.  Lots of guns.  Guns on their hips, guns in their hands.  And tell the Leftist fascists that they had better bring plenty of body bags, because the GOP ain't gonna pay to bury the Marxists out of their own pockets.

Just a reminder

That Planned Parenthood rips babies apart ion the womb and sells their body parts for cash.

The costs of baby organs increased dramatically in the last ten years, a Planned Parenthood executive said in video released by the Center for Medical Progress on Wednesday
In 2014, undercover videographers posing as organ procurers captured Planned Parenthood executive Dr. Mary Gatter discussing the cost of "specimens" obtained following abortion. When the pro-life activists mention $50 as the going rate for each specimen, Gatter informs them that costs have jumped over the last decade.
"You know, you have to pay a little money to use the space," Gatter says.

This is the same evil ghoul who was caught on camera saying that she wanted a Lamborghini from the body parts she was selling.  This video pre-dates the Lambo video.

In order to deny that a baby is in fact a baby while you sell off it's liver, it's lungs, it's skull, you have to not have an actual soul left, what with the selling it to Satan and all that.  Or maybe you do have a soul, and it resembles the sludge at the bottom of a septic tank.  Just foul.

Criminals and Thugs

We just barely missed being ruled by the Clinton Crime Cartel and Clown Show

A Bangladesh government commission was investigating multiple charges of financial mismanagement at Grameen Bank, beginning in May 2012. Muhammad Yunus, a major Clinton Foundation donor, served as managing director of the bank.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and permanent U.S. resident, recalled the account of the threatened IRS audit to TheDCNF. The allegations mark the first known instance in the U.S. that Clinton’s Department of State used IRS power to intimidate a close relative of a friendly nation’s head of state on behalf of a Clinton Foundation donor.
Joy told TheDCNF it was “astounding and mind boggling” that senior State Department officials between 2010 and 2012 repeatedly pressured him to influence his mother to drop the commission investigation.

All socialists are corrupt.  All socialists will use the power of the government to get their way if they can.  And the Clintons are some of the most corrupt socialists you will ever find in America.

The Prime Minister originally disclosed in general terms the pressure exerted on her son at a February reception in Munich. Sources such as the Dhaka Tribune carried the news throughout the country.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy had to face pressure from the US State Department to keep Muhammad Yunus as the Grameen Bank managing director,” the Tribune reported.
“Hillary Clinton phoned me and exerted the same pressure. Even the U.S. State Department summoned my son Joy three times and told him that we would face trouble,” Hasina added.
Hasina said State Department officials told Joy that Clinton would not take the matter lightly.
“Convince your mother,” she recalled Joy quoting officials.

We were thisclose to our country being run by that shitshow.

Stefan Molyneux boils down how Climate Change is just a racket

And Gay Patriot points out that it is in essence a religion for those who believe in it.

Molyneux proposes the following thought experiment:
  1. Suppose stockbrokers (or bankers or politicians or oil company CEOs – whomever you view as corruptible) are in charge of calculating some important measure of the world.
  1. Let’s call it the Economy Rate (ER). It could go up or down. The stockbrokers fudge and massage the ER data, as they see fit.
  1. First, the stockbrokers say “The ER is so important! and it’s going DOWN! That’s bad! Give us tens of billions of taxpayer money, and we’ll watch it and figure out what to do.”
  1. But over the years, the ER rises. The stockbrokers say “The ER is so important! and it’s going UP! That’s bad! Give us tens of billions of taxpayer money, and we’ll watch it and figure out what to do.”
  1. But then the ER stops going up. The stockbrokers say “The ER is so important! and it could go UP OR DOWN! With unpredictable pauses! That’s bad! Give us tens of billions of taxpayer money, and we’ll watch it and figure out what to do.”

The same people hysterically screeching about how we're all gonna die are often the same ones buying multi-million dollar beachfront mansions with the money they sucker out of the fools, dupes, and religious converts to Global Changism.  This is why Democrats want to control the language so badly, and why they insist on only being judged by what they say instead of what they do.

When you've lost Politico...

How bad is Obama's Iran deal?  Politico is exposing just how corrupt, stupid and horrible the deal is.  (link goes to Ace of Spades)

By dropping charges against major arms targets, the administration infuriated Justice Department officials -- and undermined its own counterproliferation task forces.
By JOSH MEYER 04/24/17 05:00 AM EDT
When President Barack Obama announced the "one-time gesture" of releasing Iranian-born prisoners who "were not charged with terrorism or any violent offenses" last year, his administration presented the move as a modest trade-off for the greater good of the Iran nuclear agreement and Tehran’s pledge to free five Americans.
But Obama, the senior official and other administration representatives weren’t telling the whole story on Jan. 17, 2016, in their highly choreographed rollout of the prisoner swap and simultaneous implementation of the six-party nuclear deal, according to a POLITICO investigation.
The biggest fish, though, was Seyed Abolfazl Shahab Jamili, who had been charged with being part of a conspiracy that from 2005 to 2012 procured thousands of parts with nuclear applications for Iran via China. That included hundreds of U.S.-made sensors for the uranium enrichment centrifuges in Iran whose progress had prompted the nuclear deal talks in the first place.
When federal prosecutors and agents learned the true extent of the releases, many were shocked and angry. Some had spent years, if not decades, working to penetrate the global proliferation networks that allowed Iranian arms traders both to obtain crucial materials for Tehran's illicit nuclear and ballistic missile programs and, in some cases, to provide dangerous materials to other countries.

Basically, Obama handed Iran $150 billion, plus lots of terrorists, arms dealers and other assorted criminals that the prior administrations had worked to put away, and then promised that Iran could do what it wanted.

I'd like to point out that the GOP went along with this debased spectacle, under the Corker maneuver.  The GOP could have stopped it.  They chose not to.  Which is part of the reason why Donald Trump is president today, and not the GOP's anointed child, Jeb.

We won't be able to fix the damage that Obama and the Quisling GOP did.  It will come back to bite us in the ass.

Made me laugh

David over at Musings Over a Pint had this advert up.

I think I need some of those...

Well, this just isn't fair

You want to know why so many musicians are kinda ugly?  It's because that's how we got the chicks way back when.  We weren't football players or jocks, and we most likely weren't rich.  So how can a poor ugly kid get girls?

Rock 'n Roll, man.  Or whatever floated their boat.  You wanna hear some 80's BS that'll make your panties drop?  OK, I'll do that too.  A country song makes your legs go up in the air?  We'll do that as well.

Music was the realm of ugly guys using tunes to get laid.  Hell, it worked for me in spades.  I'm no Brad Pitt, and it wasn't until I joined the Army that I really started putting on muscle.

But what happens when a smoking hot girl learns to rock out on guitar?  Man, that's just not fair.

This here blows right through the "ugly guys" rule in music.
