Day by Day

I've worked so many days in a row that I forgot it was Friday

I have a battle rhythm that I have on my desktop to remind me of various tasks and reports that I need to complete and which day they're due.  My boss called me up today to remind me of a tasker I had outstanding.  I said "That's due tomorrow, isn't it?"

Boss:  "Dave, it's Friday.  It's due today."

Me:  "Well, SHIT!"

Boss:  "Get it to me when you can."

I got it turned in, just a wee bit over-due.

You know, he's got a bunch of various comments over on the right side of the blog.  This one I liked so much that I'm stealing it.

Interesting: The same people who say we have to shut down the country based on nothing but guesses and "models" are the exact same people saying we must not prescribe hydroxychloroquine until we have full 10,000 participant double-blind trials and conclusive scientific proof. It seems the alleged "Science-Lovers" and Twitter scolds are willing to roll the dice on some speculations, but are extremely aggressive that we don't gamble on other ones.
So strange that sometimes we take suggestive evidence as conclusive proof that we must do something dramatic and destructive -- shutting the country's economy down -- but in other case, suggestive evidence is not enough to encourage doctors to prescribe a well-tested drug with minimal side-effects.Why? There is no scientific reason for this -- it's entirely driven by the Orange Man Bad Axiom. They want to shut the economy down because they know it's the only way to stop the Bad Orange Man. They do not want any remedy for coronavirus discovered because that would result in the economy being reopened.
Isn't it awfully convenient that we need very little evidence to do something which will harm Trump's reelection chances, but we cannot prescribe a drug which could improve his reelection chances until three years from now when all the studies are completed, peer-reviewed, and published? What other reason could there be for this except the obvious, ghoulishly partisan one?

I got nothing to add.

I stole this

From a post that the Mrs. saw on facebook, where I refuse to play.

Why my brain hurts
The Rules:
1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can.
2. Masks are useless, but maybe you have to wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well.
3. Stores are closed, except those that are open.
4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. Same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick.
5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster.
6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help.
7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but it's important to GO OUT.
8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes.
9. The virus has no effect on children except those it affects.
10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there…
11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms. Oh, my..
12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand and it's better not to go out, well, but no…
13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you get looked at very wrong when you get some fresh air, and most importantly, you don't go to parks or walk. But don’t sit down, except that you can do that now if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant (but not too old).
14. You can't go to retirement homes, but you have to take care of the elderly and bring food and medication.
15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy.
16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to have your groceries decontaminated outside for 3 hours. Pizza too?
17. Every disturbing article or disturbing interview starts with " I don't want to trigger panic, but…"
18. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but you can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver.
19. You can walk around with a friend but not with your family if they don't live under the same roof.
20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance.
21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily.
22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe.
23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of…
24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).
25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?

Are you pissed off about the quarantine yet?

How 'bout now?

Professor Yitzhak Ben Israel concludes in his analysis summary paper that the data from the past 50 days indicates that the closure policies of the quarantine countries can be replaced by more moderate social distancing policies. The numbers simply do not support quarantine or economic closure.

We might not have people lying to us.  But we most certainly have panicked politicians destroying the economy for fear that they might lose their jobs.  And the "experts" have confirmed once again that if "X" is an unknown quantity, and a "spurt" is a drip of water under pressure, then an "expert" is an unknown drip under pressure.

But sure, trust the government and listen to their "experts"

Because they would never falsify data, would they?

A report from the New York Times on Tuesday suggests that as bad as the situation in New York City is even worse now—with one caveat. According to their report, New York City "sharply increased its [coronavirus] death toll by more than 3,700 victims on Tuesday, after officials said they were now including people who had never tested positive for the virus but were presumed to have died of it."
What? People who never tested positive for the coronavirus are being counted in the official death toll? Why would they do that?

Folks, our entire country is being shut down, with numbers out of New York Fucking City being cited as a reason why we all have to stay in our homes while business after business gets destroyed, and they are FUCKING LYING TO YOU ABOUT THE REAL NUMBERS!

This is fake data, being used to push draconian measures to deal with a virus that doesn't kill nearly as many people as you are being told it does.

Transgenderism is a mental illness.

And it apparently makes you rather violent.

Some of the threats targeted Rose’s family, publishing her address and the names of her parents while calling her “a transphobic white trash Nazi” and threatening the livelihoods of her family.

This is why everyone should know how to use a firearm.  Because Leftists hate you and want you to die.

Does Liberalism cause mental illness?

I think it's the other way around.  Being mentally ill makes you more "liberal", politically speaking.  That's why you see hoards of Leftists melting down mentally and emotionally on college campuses around the country.  Because they're mentally ill first, and Leftist second.

They have charts and graphs.  Go look.

So much for that "Healthy at any size!" nonsense, eh?

The biggest risk factor for Kung Flu hospitalization is being obese.

For months, scientists have been poring over data about cases and deaths to understand why it is that COVID-19 manifests itself in different ways around the world, with certain factors such as the age of the population repeatedly popping up as among the most significant determinants.
Now, one of the largest studies conducted of COVID-19 infection in the United States has found that obesity of patients was the single biggest factor in whether those with COVID-19 had to be admitted to a hospital.

I can think of a few reasons why this might be the case.  Obese people are at higher risk for diabetes, which was one of the huge factors in death from the Kung Flu in New Orleans.  Also, being obese leads to various other diseases that affect the cardio-pulmonary system, and this virus hits your lungs hard.  If you have any condition that makes it harder to breathe or for your heart to pump, it's going to make this virus nail you even harder.

I guess the bottom line is that you need to not be fat.  But that's been common knowledge for decades now.

Anti-Pope Jorge Bergolio vomits up more Marxist bullshit

I'm so tired of this communist douche-tool.

On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis sent a letter to leaders of social movements promoting "structural changes" to the "economy of exclusion and inequality." Among other things, he encouraged these activists to use the coronavirus crisis as an opportunity to spur radical change and launch a "humanistic and ecological conversion." He also endorsed the idea of a universal basic income (UBI), championed by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Marxism destroys the human soul.  Socialism, Communism, all forms of Marxist ideology destroy religion, destroy charity, destroy altruism.  The poison that anti-Pope Jorge Bergolio is preaching goes against everything the Church stands for.  I am sick and tired of watching the so-called head of the Church, this Marxist moron, this papal impersonator, spewing forth the same type of bullshit that's been destroying the Church from within for decades.

Jorge Bergolio is not the pope.  Pope Benedict XVI is the one and only true Pope, and Jorge Bergolio is an imposter.  A Marxist sodomite put in place by evil men to do their bidding on this earth.  He has his reward on this earth, as do his enablers.

Taiwan tried to warn us, the Chi-Coms are garbage, and the WHO is a Chi-Com puppet

This could have been headed off at the pass if it weren't for politically correct globalist bullshit.

Apparently, Taiwan sent an email in December to the WHO warning them about the occurrence of a new disease in China and asking for more information. That information being investigated that early in the game could have saved tens of thousands of lives. Instead, Taiwan was ignored.

So how many people have lost their jobs because of China, the WHO and other various actors who are all now trying to blame Taiwan, Trump, Republicans, and anyone who actually tried to stop it?

So this is more for Christmas than Easter, but it's still beautiful.
