Been busy today

The Mrs. got saddlebags for her bike.  We started that job yesterday, finished it today.  Also, new windshield.  Again, started that job yesterday, finished it today.  Had running around to do.  Got it done.  Things to purchase. They're purchased and stored.  And finally, a good long three hour ride, because what's the point of putting all that crap on a bike if you don't ride it afterwards?

Then back home.  More chores.  Got stuff done.  Now dinner.

Maybe posting tomorrow.  Scotch now.  No posts with scotch, because then I say what I really think and get banned by Google, who is evil and pestilent and horrible.

Here's a quote for ya

 Based on some various show:

"He would allow you to die for him.  Would he ever die for you?"

Now apply that to our government.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, the So-Called Elites edition

 Shot:

"The secret of the elites is that they're not all that smart so they need the deck stacked to continue the illusion that they are elite at all."

- Rob Peffer

Chaser:

This display of spontaneous group power by a bunch of previous unknowns has frightened the Really Smart People™ and led to reactions that will make things worse, not better. Some discount brokers started displaying warnings and limiting trades. Discord, a popular online chat service used by the r/wallstreetbets group, shut down the group’s service, offering the usual contemporary excuse that the group was engaged in “hate speech” and “spreading disinformation.” Uh-huh.

(.....)

The freakout by our betters is real. Ironically, all the Really Smart People™ would have to do to make the problem go away is to stop throwing their weight around, stop condescending and start treating their fellow Americans as fellow citizens worthy of respect. At least, that’s what they would do, if they were actually really smart.

And this is why I won't really care all that much when it all burns down around them.

And More:

It’s likely not any evil manipulation scheme, but ordinary people acting — out of self-interest, but also out of sheer enthusiasm for one of the best reasons to do just about anything, because you can — on a few simple, powerful observations.

They’ve seen first that our markets are basically fake, set up to artificially accelerate the wealth divide, and not in their favor. Secondly they see that the stock market, like the ballot box, remains one of the only places where sheer numbers still matter more than capital or connections. And they’re piling on, and it’s delicious, not so much because they’re right, but because the people running for cover are so wrong, and still can’t admit it.

Buy the ticket, take the ride, nitwits. If you earned anything, it’s this.

The Uni-Party protects its own

Shit like this is a huge part of the reason why reddit was screwing with a hedge fund in the first place.  And it's about to get worse.

If all that looks like market manipulation — locking buyers out from purchasing a stock with their own money and of their own free will, therefore causing a price to fall, and helping shore up an overleveraged hedge fund with serious political connections, while telling ordinary people they’d done something they hadn’t — well, you’re not in the uniparty.

Robinhood billed itself as a people’s platform, a way the poor could buy fractional stocks and trade their way into a bit of riches. But it may be that Robinhood has been unmasked as the sheriff of a rotten, rigged system.

The politically connected are allowed to get rich by fucking around on Wall Street, but everybody else can eat a dick?  And the new Treasury Secretary has her fingers in the cookie jar, but she's blocking everyone else from succeeding?  Great message there, dipshits.

According to RealClearPolitics, this move came after Yellen was reportedly “on the phone all day Wednesday talking to key players involved in all aspects of the scandal.”

She has been paid more than $800,000 in speaking fees by Citadel, the hedge fund that bailed out one of the biggest losers in the GameStop buying spree.

But Psaki, responding to a reporter’s question about Yellen’s possible recusal, wouldn’t say one way or the other.

Crap like this is causing people to decide to simply burn everything down.  And I can't really say I blame them.  Credentialed "elites" have been having their way, but when Joe Sixpack does it he gets smacked down?  That puts the whole concept of a free market and a free country as a lie.  Lots of folks been red-pilled this past few weeks.  And I don't know one single person who's worth $800,000 for a speech, or even a bunch of speeches.  Citadel doesn't give a shit about what Janet Yellen had to say, they wanted ACCESS TO POLITICAL POWER, and it looks like they got what they paid for.  Pay to play, baby!  The entire system is corrupt, and it's being exposed in ways it never thought could happen.

I'm popping corn, and waiting for the buildings to start falling down.

When I see how a Reddit forum is hurting Wall Street?

"We can stay retarded longer than they can stay solvent."  Just fucking awesome.

Taking billions out of the market and bankrupting people is only something hedge fund managers get to do, not you people in your underwear trading at home. Duh.

Redditors are posting what they’re going to do with their winnings. #Billions is trending on Twitter.

The people who love to manipulate the market and cause other people to lose their life savings are upset that someone else figured out how to manipulate the market and cause them to lose their money.  Fuck 'em.

I say "No" on a third party

You kick the shitbags out of the GOP.  Why rebuild what you need, when you can take over an already-existing structure?

Look at the GOP just five years ago and look at it today. Yeah, we have the rump Renfield contingent with tiresome goofs like Mitt (R?-Miracle Whip). We have others who alternate between establishment-curious moderate wimpiness and coming through for us at many key junctures – Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham. But look at what we don’t have – Jeff Flake is gone. Jeb! is a flabby footnote. And as hard as Nikki! is trying to make herself happen, she’s not happening. The GOP has shifted our way – on wars, on culture, on tech, on playing to win. We have earned the support of Americans of all races in unprecedented numbers because we have focused on people who – remember this? – work hard and play by the rules. That’s progress. Not enough, not nearly, but to deny the progress because you are angry only empowers the people you are angry at. We can’t throw out what we have already achieved simply because we have much more work to do. Take the W, people.

Romney will be going when his time is up.  He's going to get primaried, trust me.  More importantly, hit the GOP at the local level, kick the bums who support the RINOs, and watch the RINOs die off.

Rather academic, but informative

I love this quote:  Energy is the messenger, momentum is the message.

It also helps explain why the 45 ACP is still so popular a cartridge.  Yes, it's slow.  But it's also heavy, which means that the power expressed on the target is much more than the 9mm.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both calibers, but for different reasons.

When it all boils down, energy=massXvelocity.  Physics never lies.

I used to play the tenor sax

I was never very good at it, but I wanted to play it.  And this song is a big part of the reason why.

This isn't just cognitive dissonance, this is brain damage.

Woman who shut down her business because of crushing taxes still supports Bernie Sanders.  Here's part one, a normal complaint:

“People have been contacting me thinking that they can get mittens, and actually, they can’t,” Vermont school teacher Jen Ellis said about the mittens that Sanders wore on Inauguration Day, adding that high taxes drove her out of business.

“I don’t have any more, and I don’t have much of a mitten business anymore because it really wasn’t worth it,” she continued. “Independent crafters get really taken for a ride by the federal government. We get taxed to the nth degree, and it wasn’t really worth it pursuing that as a business, even as a side hustle.”

And here is where my head hit the desk.

Still, despite Sanders’s strident support for raising taxes, including on the middle class, to pay for "Medicare for all," Ellis says she supports the senator.

“I’m also super pro-Bernie and as a public school teacher, I can see every day how families are struggling,” she said. “People are just trying to make ends meet, and they need things like student loan forgiveness and free education and a lot of the things that Bernie is fighting for.”

I no longer bother to ask how someone cannot see cause and effect.  The fact that she's a teacher means she's most likely a Marxist, indoctrinating our students and turning their brains into mush so that she churns out identical copies of herself, unable to think critically, unable to use logic, and unable to follow a chain of events to determine the cause.

She shut down her side hustle because of "crushing taxes", but still supports Bernie and his socialist bullshit utopia.  Which means she's not smart enough to put two and two together, or she's so narcissistic that she doesn't care how many other businesses get crushed, she wants her free shit.

Sorry for the lack of posting

I'm on day 9 in a row at this point, and my brain functions are not up to par when I wake up, and I'm getting home late.  So enjoy some photos

And as a counter to my pessimism

Never give up.  The battle is not yours.

We don’t know now what victory will look like. We may look up and see only storm clouds on the horizon, dark, terrifying thunderheads that hide the light.

At moments like these, it is important to recall the life of King Jehoshaphat.

You'll have to go read the rest.

The bill to destroy America

If this passes, there will be a hot civil war far sooner than.  Take every bad thing from the coup of 2020 and federalize it, codify it, and make it the law of the land.  You'll have people voting in Texas from the state of California and there won't be anything you can do about it.  Voter fraud?  It was cranked up to 11 last year, and they'll break that knob off and send it into the stratosphere.

In an odd way, I almost welcome it.  This country is a shambling corpse with no brain and no hope, so it might be best to just have the Democrat Marxists make their power grab so the fight can start while I'm young enough to fight in it, rather than leave it for the next generation to deal with.

Some thoughts from a National Guard Soldier at the Capitol right now.

I'm guessing he's either a senior NCO or junior officer based how he describes things.

Last night I saw probably 2000 riot-prepared soldiers unload from buses and enter the perimeter. This level of military involvement surpasses overreaction, skips past overkill, and pegs “insane.” Whoever ordered this response is completely out of touch with reality.

Well, that describes pretty much everyone in Washington D.C., so there you go.  I should start calling it Capitol City.  We can squabble about what District we're in later.  If you don't get the reference, go borrow your kids (or niece/nephew's) copy of The Hunger Games.  Don't worry, you only need to watch the first one.

May I just say, if you had any respect for the FBI or any belief that it was not a fully partisan organization, you were completely wrong. If there was any “credible intelligence” that there was enough of a threat to require 20,000 national guard troops at the Capitol this past week, then the FBI is completely failing. The fact that the alleged credible evidence was clearly inaccurate tells me that I should not ever trust the FBI with anything I would give a 19-year-old soldier…

The FBI is not interested in actual law enforcement, the FBI is interested in protecting the Democrat Party and advancing the interests of the DNC.

So Larry King died

And I've seen some people weeping and wailing and gnashing their teeth.

Dude was 87.  What the hell did you think happens to people, folks?  Yes, he was famous.  Had a TV show.  And he got old, and he died, which is what happens to people.  Why the hell do random people freak the hell out whenever some celebrity dies?  I'm not saying I'm happy about it, I'm saying that he was an old man and old men die.

When my father kicks the bucket, I'm going to be weeping and wailing, but he's MY FATHER, not some celebrity that I never met.

I guess I just don't get it.  "OH, HOW HORRIBLE!  OH, THE HUMANITY!  A CELEBRITY HAS DIED!"  Yeah.  They do that.  Larry King happened to live a lot longer than most celebrities, because he wasn't some crackhead pedo like a huge chunk of them are.  He had a show on CNN back when CNN actually cared about objective reporting, so that should tell you just how long ago that was.

Folks, Old Men die.  We all do.  None of us make it out of here alive.

Biden doesn't know what he's signing, but he's told to sign it so he signs it anyways.

This drooling half-witted dementia patient is a hollow puppet.

The this is not the first questionable situation we’ve seen in the first three days of the Biden administration. As seen in another video on Inauguration Day, Biden robotically stated aloud “Salute the Marines” as he and his wife Jill entered the Capitol. Biden never actually saluted the marines, as National File reported.

He's a literal figurehead, controlled by Marxists and other anti-American actors.
