Massssskss was one of them.  I warned early on that physics said masks could not work if the virus was in aerosols or transmitted in feces, no matter whether the feces were manually spread or through aerosols.  We knew this was virtually certain when a mass-spread event happened twice in Wuhan and Hong Kong in apartments on the same vertical drain stack where there were no P-traps; the people infected did not know each other and thus any other form of transmission other than through fecal aerosol was wildly improbable.  That was ignored.  We then had the German meatpacking plant where everyone was wearing masks and yet a huge outbreak took place across tens of feet, a claimed impossibility.  Yet it happened and was proved by RNA sequencing; the researchers were able to identify the index and daughter cases and thus conclusively prove that the infections happened in that plant via that route, despite masks.

Now MIT has weighed in and said the same thing. They try to sidestep the mask issue in their "research" but fail; nothing less than an N95, which is not a mask but rather a respirator, stops aerosols, and source control does not work even with N95s because when you exhale the positive pressure escapes around the edges and for aerosols goes right through the gaps.  Workplaces and airlines have banned N95s with exhaust valves which preserve the seal on your face and thus are the only ones that will provide protection for you against inhaling said aerosol.  Non-valved respirators repeatedly break said seal and thus render it ineffective within minutes.  Don't believe me?  Put on an N95 without a valve and do some sanding where there's lots of dust, when you take it off let me know what you find around the edges where the respirator used to be.  This is why you want the ones with a valve and why the ones I have for such work have a valve.

All the people screaming about how "MASKS SAVE LIVES!" are either ignorant, or lying to you.  Masks are worthless in a viral pandemic.  If masks worked, the flu would have been wiped out decades ago.  And then there's the actual data on the virus:

Let me be clear: The entire premise of all of the "mitigations" and demand for mass-vaccination relied on a lie; that this was a "novel" virus to which nobody had existing resistance.  We now know that's false; 81% of the population in fact does have existing immunity and further, that immunity is strengthened, materially so, by natural infection.  In short if you have said partial resistance you want to get the disease as the odds of you being seriously harmed are statistically zero yet you will perfect your immunity and from a public health perspective you want those people who are not going to be seriously harmed to get it naturally, not take a ******ned shot because it is that perfection of immunity that stops the disease from being of harm to the public on a durable basis.

Getting what they voted for, good and hard

The FBI refused to take Hunter Biden's hard drive

It was sitting out when the FBI raided Giuliani's place.

When federal agents raided Rudy Giuliani’s Manhattan home early Wednesday, they found a surprisingly cooperative target.

The former New York City mayor quickly brought the agents into his study and began sharing his electronic devices with them, helping them fulfill their search warrant mission.

A source close to Giuliani tells Newsmax that one of the agents pointed to a computer hard drive on the former mayor’s desk, asking about it.

Giuliani responded, “Oh that’s Hunter Biden’s hard drive.”

Giuliani offered to give the hard drive to the agents, telling them “it has evidence of President Biden committing multiple crimes with his son Hunter.”

Surprised, the agents reportedly not only rebuffed the evidence, they didn’t even bother to check what was on the hard drive.

The FBI is nothing but goons and thugs, in the service of the DNC.

Rudy Giuliani’s apartment in NYC was raided by zealous federal agents on Wednesday as part of a “criminal probe” related to Giuliani’s alleged dealings in Ukraine. I feel like we’ve heard this story before. When the left is in power, they love to weaponize federal agencies against their political enemies. Agents confiscated all of Giuliani’s electronic devices including his computer and phone. They will now dig furiously for anything with which to smear and humiliate him by leaking non-crime personal details to the press (guaranteed).

Let's remember that the FBI had copies of Hunter Biden's laptop, which contained ACTUAL EVIDENCE OF WIDESPREAD CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, and did nothing.  They sat on it to protect their political masters.  

Let's not forget that the FBI had information on multiple shooters that they sat on.  "Persons known to the FBI", as it were.  The Parkland shooter?  The FBI was warned about him.  The Colorado shooters?  Yeah, both of them were known.  The San Bernardino shooters?  The FBI knew about them as well.  The FBI was given information about the Boston Marathon bombers too and they were too busy trying to take down conservatives to bother with a trifling little thing like that.

But now Rudy Giuliani has to be punished, and so the DNC calls out their favorite thugs and goons, the FBI.

In the small-ish burg of Baker City, way out in Eastern Oregon, far away from the capital city, a proposal among business leaders has ignited a movement. Now, the mayor says other towns across Oregon are looking to her city as a model to fight back against an out-of-control governor.

The short-short version is that Baker City is essentially telling Portland's governor (she sure as hell ain't the governor for the whole state!) that they are done with her stupidity, and she and the rest of the commies from Multnomah county can pound sand.

Mixed feelings

 So California lost a congressional seat because of all the people leaving.

Normally this is a good thing.  The less influence that a Marxist shithole like Kalifornia has, the better off the country will be.  But all those Kalifornians leaving aren't going to some black hole, and the actual good Californians who aren't living in those Marxist shithole areas ain't leaving.  So what we end up getting is indoctrinated Marxists flooding into an area and turning it into a recreation of the Marxist shitholes they just left.  Look at Denver and Colorado.  The entire Puget Sound area.  Salt Lake City, Utah.  Houston, Texas.  The average price of a home in the SLC area went up about $100,000 last year.  That's not a typo.  You can't sniff a house in Coeur d'Alene for under $450,000.  And that's for a two bed, one bath.  Prices only go up from there.  

Now, I will admit that not all of the people fleeing Kalifornia are indoctrinated Marxists, but enough of them are that they change the entire culture of the places where they move.  Is that worth Kalifornia losing a seat in the House of Representatives?

Am I just dumping on Kalifornia?  Yes, in so much as Kalifornia is a red state controlled by the two giant blue tumors of Lost Angeles and San Fransicko.  People in the Central Valley of California hate Lost Angeles just as much as I do.  But the people in the Central Valley aren't flooding into SLC and trying to turn it into the copy of Silicon Valley.

Open secrets time - I don't own at AR-15

 I didn't like the M-16 I was issued back as a yoot, and I don't like the M-4 I'm forced to use now.  I never got into the whole AR-15 thing, because it's not a rifle I particularly like.  I don't like the gas-operation, I don't like the caliber.  It's just not a thing that I wanted to own.

But watching what's going on, I'm actually thinking of getting one.  Lots of reasons why, most of end with "Because FUCK YOU that's why!"

Of course, now they've hit nosebleed prices, and good luck finding any 223 ammo, because there's a lot of people who feel the same why I do.  Chances are I'll pick up another shotgun, this one with a much shorter barrel than my bird gun.

Brian Sicknick was turned into a tool by the Left

 I guarantee he wasn't the only one.

An unruly crowd entered the US Capitol on Jan. 6, while then-President Donald Trump addressed a rally several blocks away. One member of that crowd, Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed woman and a veteran, was shot by the Capitol Police. The next day, Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died in the hospital.

On Jan. 8, The New York Times reported that Officer Sicknick had died after being struck in the head with a fire extinguisher by violent Trump supporters. This story was quickly repeated by numerous other media outlets. Millions believed it.

The story was false.

Nothing about January 6th was as the Democrat Media Complex reported it.  Brian Sicknick was simply someone they could use to vilify Trump and conservatives.  And you're still not allowed to know who shot and killed Ashli Babbit.  I have a friend who is convinced that Ashli Babbit was never shot, and it's all just a government plot.  She was just an actor in some play.  I have no clue what the purpose of said plot would be.

Every time you think the FBI can't get more worthless

 They prove you wrong.

Last week, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) revealed an utterly shocking fact: when a deranged leftist named James Hodgkinson opened fire on congressional Republicans in 2017, nearly killing GOP Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), the FBI ruled the shooting a “suicide by cop.” 

In the defense of some FBI agents, a bunch of them also objected to that finding.  But their objections didn't change a thing, and that's part of the problem.  The FBI is corrupt from the top down.  At this point, I doubt it can be fixed.  And that corruption drags the good folks down just as much as the bad folks, because there aren't enough of the good folks to change things.

Anyways, just a reminder about the Federal Bureau of Incompetence.  

If you don't want to get shot

 Then don't try to stab people right in front of a police officer.

I expect more riots from the usual suspects.  Because when a feral human goes off and stabs multiple people, apparently the cops shouldn't do anything.

Derek Chauvin guilty?

 Folks, there wasn't enough evidence for him to be guilty of anything.  This is a political trial, not a trial based on evidence.  And if you think the Ferguson effect was bad before, just you wait to see what's coming down the pike in the future.  Why should any police officer in or around Minneapolis risk their life and their family and their career trying to help people in black urban areas?  Why should any police officer respond to a call when it could result in them going to jail and their family destitute?

Violent crime is already skyrocketing in Minneapolis.  This will add solid rocket fuel to those numbers.  And were I a cop anywhere around that location, if I got a call from an area where BLM is the predominate narrative, I'd made damn sure that I had other things to do, until I rolled up late enough to simply take a report.

But then again, if I was a cop in Minneapolis, I would have already taken my family and left.  Buh bye.  There's a sheriff's department in some rural area that needs a deputy.  Minneapolis can burn itself down, and it probably will over something else.  The Marxist Left is in control, and the feral humans are unchecked.  This will not end well.

I think it's important to point out that there is a difference between medical marijuana and what we currently have going on in multiple states.  Telling people it's OK to get high all day every day is akin to telling people it's OK to chug a fifth of Jack Daniels every day.  It doesn't do good things for you.

Jobs for the Apocalypse

For some reason, I think that an electrician is a more durable trade than a gardener — it certainly will be, going forward — and likewise, a metalworker (blacksmith, welder, etc.) will have a better go than an innkeeper.  (I know:  there wasn’t much call for electricians back in the sixteenth century, but I’ll bet that metalworkers were in high demand.)  And since we’ve moved away from leeches and trepanning, I’m pretty sure that a doctor would have a more durable trade than a wall covering specialist.

There are basically four kinds of trade, methinks (and there is some overlap, certainly over time):

I couldn't help but read this, and think back to Mike Rowe's interview where he said "Don't follow your dreams.  Follow the MONEY, and then you can fulfill your dreams."

Looking at the list laid out by Mr. du Toit, the Mrs and I fall into several of his categories in skills that we have that we can use should everything fall apart.  Obviously, soldiering, given my current occupation.  Farming (small scale, I can't run a 500 acre farm), cooking, baking, brewing, innkeeping, and entertaining, and a few others.  In short, we can make ourselves valuable no matter what happens.

And let's say that nothing bad happens in the next few years.  Hypothetical situation, I know, but still, play along with me.  I retire, move back home, what do I do to earn my daily bread?  Well, I already have a list of things I can do, and all I have to do is refine them into a business plan and I'm off to the races.  

Just something to keep in mind, especially if you have relatives who are looking at going hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt in order to attend a university.  I've met far too many university grads who are nothing but poorly trained fry cooks, given that they're not actually useful in any kind of real world application.

Recent emails uncovered by Judicial Watch between FDA employees and the California-based Advanced Bioscience Resources (ABR) prove the agency spent tens of thousands of dollars buying aborted babies for unethical scientific experiments between 2012 and 2018. In 2018, the Trump administration terminated the contract, halting government fetal tissue research due to concerns the contracts were unlawful. Judicial Watch’s new FOIA Request adds 575 pages of records to its existing 2019 lawsuit against the agency.

Folks, a human life is a human life.  It has inherent value, created by God, that you have no right to destroy for your own profit.  Or for your sexual convenience, which is what most abortions are for these days: A woman killing her own baby so that she can continue having sex.  Killing babies is evil.  Whether they are in the womb or out of the womb makes no difference, killing babies is EVIL!

So when I read things like this, it makes my stomach clench in rage and sadness.

Emails between FDA officials and ABR employees reveal disturbing conversations as they collaborate to buy and sell aborted fetuses. Records indicate ABR was paid $12,000 upfront per baby, some survivable out of the womb, between the gestational age of 16-24 weeks. Most purchases are for intact thymuses and livers shipped “Fresh; on wet ice.”

The people who do this sort of thing are condemning themselves to eternity in hell.  The people who support and assist in this sort of thing will join them.  But what will befall we who allow our "representative" government to be a part of this Satanic deal?

I shudder to find out.

Until demanded otherwise, our society is complicit in the unchecked abuse and commodification of preborn children. Moral urgency is incumbent on us to condemn these atrocities sanctioned by the federal government’s lead medical researchers and fight to stop them. We may lose more battles before we win, but we cannot say we never knew.

And for any atheists out there who scoff at the notion of God, or that life has inherent value given by our Creator, then think of it this way - if a baby can be broken down and sold for it's parts, it's only a small step to go from that baby to you, depending on who's buying and what's needed.

That’s exactly what Pew Research has found — and all politics aside, the shocking diagnosis of over 50% of liberal women with some form of mental health medical diagnosis is a public health concern that no one seems to be discussing, let alone taking seriously. 

Personally, I think these are mental illnesses that have been trained into them.  They've been told that they have to act like men.  They've been told that their only use is as corporate drones, working until they're past their child-bearing years.  They've been indoctrinated to ingest or inject hormones to prevent pregnancy that skews their mental and physical well-being out of balance.

The study, which examined white liberals, moderates, and conservatives, both male and female, found that conservatives were far less likely to be diagnosed with mental health issues than those who identified as either liberal or even “very liberal.” What’s more, white women suffered the worst of all. White women, ages 18-29, who identified as liberal were given a mental health diagnosis from medical professionals at a rate of 56.3%, as compared to 28.4% in moderates and 27.3% in conservatives.

It's also possible that people with mental illnesses are drawn to Leftist ideologies, but that would make it seem that there are a whole lot more women with mental illnesses now than there was years ago.  It also would not explain how women become more conservative as they get married and have a family.  Does the mental illness go away after you say "I do?"  Seems implausible to me.  I think it's more that these mental illnesses are created by Leftism rather than existing in the first place.

There's also the unrelenting focus on oppression, verbal violence, and micro-aggressions. We know that building resiliency against hardship is the best weapon against depression and anxiety, yet progressive ideology forces its followers to wallow in feelings of helplessness and victimhood. Instead of empowering women and minorities with self-knowledge, strength of character, and resilience to hardship, progressivism encourages victims to stay in a place of fear and helplessness.

And there you have it.

 I say let it burn.  Those areas don't have what it takes to enforce the law.  They don't have the will, they don't have the political fortitude, they don't have the mental ability to stop people from rioting and burning and looting.  So let it burn, baby.  Not one single fucking cent to Minneapolis.  Burn it to the ground, and then laugh at the people who remain.

Going riding today

Taking the hound to the vet

 No, not a euphemism.  He's got something wrong with his right rear leg.  Maybe foot.  Don't know.  But he's gimping around, and has been for the past couple of days, so it's time to take him to the doggie doc and see what's what.

Hell, at this point he's an old man.  Lots of grey hair everywhere.  Could just be wear and tear, because he was my running buddy in Lost Angeles, and we did 20-25 miles a week.  Kept me from getting jumped by druggies and dealers more than once.

UPDATE:  It's some sort of soft tissue damage.  No bone damage, nothing wrong with the joints, so it's anti-inflammatories and no strenuous exercise for a couple of weeks.  Really, it's the best case situation given that he's an old hound.

Went to the ear doc yesterday

 They confirmed that the ringing in my ears is not in fact the bells of angels constantly pealing for me. 

 Also, I've lost quite a bit of hearing in the 4000 hertz range.  That's the hearing range for explosions and other sudden loud noises.  Huh.  Wonder what could have caused that?

The young Air Force guy running the lab handed me my paperwork with an appropriately sad face.  "Well Sir, it looks like your hearing is a bit damaged."  I don't know if it was trained to be sad about that, or if he's found a way to respond to people in a sorrowful manner.  Hell, maybe they teach that crap at audiology school, I don't know.  All I could do is point at the "US Army" on my uniform and say "Well, yeah.  Army".  That actually cracked him up.  He's used to dealing with Zoomies.  Maybe they're more sensitive?  That would explain the long face as he delivered the news.  Gotta be delicate with delicate folks.  Army guys just shrug and go "Yeah, figures".  Either that or we cup our hand to our ears and go "Whaaaa?"

Modern "Art"

 So yesterday, Kim du Toit wrote a post about how a whole bunch of art collectors/dealers/people were fooled by forgeries created by some Chinese guy in Long Island.  He wrote the post after watching a documentary on the forgeries, how they were created, and how ego and pride allowed a whole bunch of people to get suckered.

But there's also the fact that the forgeries were all modern "art".  I won't say that Mr. du Toit and I are alike, but the one thing we do have in common is our absolute loathing of modern "art".  And our love for the M1911A.  And curvaceous women.  OK, so we have quite a few things in common.  But still, you get the point.

His post came to mind when I read this article about a couple who accidentally painted over a $500,000 painting.  How could this be?  Well, it was modern "art", so.....

A South Korean couple mistakenly tarnished a half-million dollar American artwork when they painted over it, as seen in a cringeworthy clip.

“They thought they were allowed to do that as participatory art and made a mistake,” said Kang Wook, head of the exhibition at Seoul’s Lotte World Mall, where the accidental vandalism took place, Reuters reported. The damaged 95-by-275-inch untitled piece was painted by Paris-based artist JonOne, a k a Harlem-born John Andrew Perello, before a live audience in 2016 — and is valued at a whopping $500,000.

1) If that painting is actually worth $500,000, then I'm Howard Hughes.  You could make a better painting by eating a pound of Skittles and some ExLax and squatting over a canvas.

2) If people think that the artwork is such that they're allowed to add to it, then maybe you shouldn't call it art at all.  Nobody except the mentally ill thinks that they're allowed to paint over the Mona Lisa.  Nobody except the demonic would take a chisel to Michelangelo's Pieta.  Nobody takes a brush to a Van Gogh or a Rembrandt.  But splotches of paint thrown on a wall?  I can see exactly why they thought they could do this.  And to make things worse....

Arranged in front of the abstract opus were the paint cans and brushes used in its creation. They’re considered part of the piece, which may have given the aforementioned pair the wrong impression.

They left actual paint and actual brushes in front of a piece of so-called "art" that looks like a thousand kindergarteners had a food fight, and didn't expect this to happen?

The "art" gallery is run by idiots and fools for multiple reasons, and the people who pay to see said "art" prove P.T. Barnum right every single day.

As an aside, if you asked me to name my favorite painter, I couldn't.  While I can enjoy a painting, I've always been much more in tune with music as my favorite art form.  So I can go on and one about Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain or why Tchaikovsky wasn't as popular as Rossini, but when it comes to paintings I can just say that damn near any "art" created on a canvas after 1940 is pretty much garbage.  I'd rather see Bob Ross do a painting on PBS than see anything from Jackson Pollock.  If I wanted to see the end result of a dude with a speedball and a set of paints, well, I woiuldn't want to see that, so I don't waste my time on Jackson Pollock.

On March 31, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released video footage of two girls getting thrown over the border wall into New Mexico. According to CBP, they were dropped from the top of the wall by two men, and fell 14 feet to the ground. The girls, from Ecuador, are sisters aged three and five years old.

Trump was reducing the flow of illegal aliens, and Biden ripped the doors off and welcomed everybody in.  If you voted for Biden, then you voted for this.  It wasn't a secret.  It wasn't a hidden agenda.  The Democrats were boldly open about their desire to allow all the illegal aliens into this country.  And so now we get this.

So now that the cartels are making millions upon millions of dollars a day from smuggling humans across the border, as well as additional millions from smuggling drugs, and even more millions from using women and children as sex slaves, all I can tell any Leftist who wants to pull at my heart-strings is "FUCK YOU, OWN IT!"  These Leftists want to claim the moral high ground, but how moral is it to allow the cartels to traffic teenage girls as prostitutes?  How moral is it to allow fentanyl and other narcotics into this country as we're going through an overdose epidemic?  How moral is it to allow coyotes to rape women and children who are getting smuggled in to this country, to the point that girls as young as ten have to be given a pregnancy test by the Border Patrol?

The Left has no moral standing.  Do not let them try to claim one.  They are not compassionate, they are not moral, they are not "caring", they are a progressive rot on this country.  Make them own it.  Every fucking day.

The facts are that Covid-19 basically burned itself out before the first shot went in the first arm and that none of the mitigating factors prevented net deaths from occurring; in fact all these mitigations, from mask orders to lockdowns to closing businesses and others caused more deaths due to ODs, suicides, avoidable heart attacks and strokes not screened for and other maladies by a wide factor than the mitigations, even using fatally flawed claims taken on faith by these very same agencies, could have possibly saved.  The actions we could have taken to actually reduce death, specifically as regards care home and other medical facilities we deliberately refused to do and we knew those actions would save lives.  Instead of protecting the most-vulnerable while those least-likely to be seriously harmed were naturally infected and built a wall of population immunity we deliberately refused to protect those older and sicker people from infection via the health care system and they died.

Given this record of falsehoods, actions and intentional refusals to act you're willing to bet your life they're telling the truth this time?

I had little faith in a lot of institutions prior to the Kung Flu.  That faith has essentially been burned to the ground and blown away during the past year.

 It's all about overwhelming the system so the system can be destroyed.

Due to what we believe is misdirected policy from Washington, DC undocumented persons are being released into our communities. This is overloading our NGOs and nonprofits. Once released we have an affirmative responsibility to provide some standard of care for these people. Our local community resources are no longer able to provide social services to our own citizens. We have no meaningful assistance from the federal government. The appearance is of washing their hands of a mess they alone created and leaving it to border communities to struggle through. This is completely unacceptable.

That's my emphasis there, and it's pretty damn important.  The Democrats are deliberately, and with extreme malice, attempting to bring in as many illegal aliens as they can into the USA, because they know the USA can't handle it.  We don't have the resources to bring in millions more people who all need food, shelter, health care, and have no way of getting it because they have no jobs and no real education.  So what happens?  The system is overrun.  Good, law-abiding citizens can't get any help because all the help is going towards illegal aliens.  This is the perfect example of Cloward-Piven.  And this is being done deliberately by the Democrats.

Oh, and there's the added bonus of all the money being made by the drug cartels, but the Democrat Party considers that a bonus.  I mean, they had no problem running guns to the cartels, so why should the DNC care about the cartels drug trafficking, human trafficking, sex slaves and various other crimes?

 I suppose that's more polite than anything I could say about them.  I don't think the FBI is incompetent.  I think they're wholly bought and paid for goons for the DNC.  Their jobs, so far as I can tell, is pushing the Democrat Party narrative, intimidating the Democrat Party's enemies, and flat out lying and making up bullshit to be used against anyone who interferes with the Democrat Party's attempts to destroy America.

There's so much I could say right now, but it's all sort of jumbled up in my head and I don't know what wants to jump out first.  Satan is ascendant in this world, but that doesn't mean we get to give up.  Christ said that gates of Hell shall not prevail in the end.  

With that being said, if anyone tries to deny the existence of God, point out how many people seem to embrace Satan.  Without God there is no Satan.  Therefore, the whole-sale embrace of Satan by people means that God has to exist.  I would point out that the Democrat Party's embrace of the murder and slaughter of infants in the womb should be proof enough of Satan's existence, but that's my personal opinion.

Training wheels

 I want to take a couple day trip on my bike this summer.  The Mrs. wants to come with me.  So we found ourselves a ride yesterday, and went on it.  The Polar Bear Ride.  160 miles, roughly, with multiple stops for gas.  Due to time constraints, on the ride I have planned out for this summer the first day is about 670 miles.  That's a long time to be in the saddle if you're not used to it, and the Mrs. just isn't used to it.  So yesterday was a good way to gauge whether or not she'd be up to a long first day.

Apparently she is.  Or that's what she's saying.  We'll find another good ride for April and see what's what.

And I need to change the oil in my bike again.  We're getting on to about 10,000 miles, and that's in less than a year.  The last oil change was about...  hmmmm....  four thousand miles ago.  If I didn't use AmsOil, I'd be hurting.  But AmsOil gives me about five thousand miles between changes, although I tend to change it between 3 and 4k.  Also have to change out the final drive oil, since it's a shaft drive.  Get everything all nice and ready for the summer, because I'm going to be riding that bike for all it's worth.  Take care of your bike, and it will take care of you
