Didn't Peggy Noonan vote for Obama?

Yeah, I thought so.  And now she's calling him "snakebit".  Hey, Peggy - he's not snakebit, he's FUCKING INCOMPETENT, YOU WORTHLESS "INTELLECTUAL" PIECE OF CRAP!

Just what the hell is it that makes people with more diplomas than brains swoon over the Marxist Messiah? I think that the big-I Intellectual love affair with Obama is the most damning indictment of our colleges and universities that can be presented.  If educated, supposedly intelligent people are so easily fooled by an empty suit with a fancy teleprompter, then that education obviously doesn't amount to a hill of beans!  And yet these so-called "smart" people like Peggy Noonan and Christopher Buckley and Colin Powell voted for a hard core communist who ran on all hype, no record, and who's greatest accomplishment was voting "present" when he was there to vote at all.

Great.  Just fucking great.  Thanks a lot.  HEY YOU FUCKING JACKASSES!!!!  GUESS WHAT!!!!!  OBAMA IS STILL VOTING "PRESENT"!!!!  THAT'S ALL HE KNOWS HOW TO DO!!!!!

And in the back of my mind, I keep hearing Rahm Emanuel saying "Never let a good crisis go to waste."  You know what?  Once that well blew, I think Obama saw a good way to destroy America, and he let it happen.  After all, successful, independent businesses are antithetical to the state-controlled economy that he wants to impose on America.  So what better way to remove all those independent businesses than just let the oil kill them off?  You want a conspiracy theory?  There's one for you right there.  Now prove me wrong.  Because you can't.  Even if those were NOT the Liberal Lord and Messiah's motivations, his complete and total incompetence will give us the same results no matter WHY.

And I'm not the only one who disagrees with Peggy "I Heart Obama" Noonan about that whole "snakebit" thing either.

No, Mrs. Noonan; I don't call that "snakebit"; I call it stupid.  I call it arrogant and unprepared.  I associate that with lack of experience and vision.

And useful idiots like Peggy "I Heart Obama" Noonan can go take a long walk off a short pier, preferably into a lake of oil that's been siphoned off from the Gulf Coast.

Darn Skippy

Dr. Helen nails it with regards to what's happening with men these days.  Think about this for a second -

The majority of Americans are divorced, at some point in their lives anyways.  Maybe they've re-married, but they've been divorced before.  I mean, we're over a 50% divorce rate in this country right now.

The majority of divorces end up not just badly, but oh-my-god horribly for men.  Alimony, child support, a guy with a divorced wife and two kids that he never gets to see is working 80 hours a week to support both his household and his ex's household at the same time.

Most guys in their 30's have seen this happen their entire lives.  They've watched people that they love and care about go through hell because of marriage and subsequent divorce.  And then people wonder why those guys don't want to get married?  Throw in the fact that thanks to modern feminism and it's abolishment of moral standards, those guys can still get laid on a nightly basis.  Why buy the cow, and the subsequent alimony and child support, when you can get the milk for free?

Had I not found an angel here on earth, I'd still be single.  I honestly believe that.  And had I never met my wife, I think I could have been happy still being single.  I know plenty of guys who are of the same mind.

I'd caught this earlier

But now I've found a blog that has the transcript - Mexican President Caleron blames America for Mexico's drug cartels.

"The origin of our violence problem begins with the fact that Mexico is located next to the country that has the highest levels of drug consumption in the world," Calderón wrote. "It is as if our neighbor were the biggest drug addict in the world."

Right.  The reason that corrupt, third-world shithole of a country has violent drug cartels in control of the upper half of it's territory is because of America.  Gotcha.  It has nothing to do with the corruption that is legendary.  It has nothing to do with weak leadership.  It has nothing to do with decades upon decades of economic failure.  It's all someone else's fault.

Right now, my only response is "Fuck Mexico".  At this point, I say we invade, annex the shit out of them, and turn them into step one of Pax Americana.  I'm actually serious at this point.  They all want to come up here anyways, let's just accelerate the process.  And send in a few BCTs as point, with ROE to kill any coked up cartel boogyman on the way to Mexico City.  Suddenly, all those Mexicans are now Americans, and the drug cartels have a serious shortage of gunmen.  It's a Win-Win!

Big Labor vs. the Gulf Coast

The more we dig on Obama's horrible, terrible lack of response to the oil spill, the more we learn.

Crucial offers to help clean up BP’s oil spill came “from Belgian, Dutch, and Norwegian firms that . . . possess some of the world’s most advanced oil skimming ships.” But the Obama administration didn’t accept their help, because doing so would require it to do something past presidents have routinely done: waive rules imposed by the Jones Act, a law backed by unions.

“The BP clean-up effort in the Gulf of Mexico is hampered by the Jones Act. This is a piece of 1920s protectionist legislation, that requires all vessels working in U.S. waters to be American-built, and American-crewed. So” the U.S. Coast Guard “can’t accept, and therefore don’t ask for, the assistance of high-tech European vessels specifically designed for the task in hand.”

This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, unfortunately.  Obama is such a radical Marxist that he will choose his ideology and it's allies over America every day of the week.  Bush waived those rules in order to get help after natural disasters.  Obama?  Not so much.  And I bet he has no interest in doing so, either, despite the fact that we could have hundreds of oil-cleanup vessels in our waters that are currently not there.

Yet another example of how Obama has hurt this country.  Of course he wants the Gulf Coast to die.  Successful businesses are normally not dependent on the government.  So kill off the successful businesses, and you have more slaves for the government!

I will say it again - I do not think that this country can recover from the damage that Obama has done to it.

On top of all that, Cold Fury details just how the Obama administration is pushing forward with their Marxist goals at the expense of America.  Once again, ideology trumps country.  Obama doesn't give a shit about American unless he can promote and reward himself.  He's a hard-core communist, willing to excuse any crime if he can gain power from it.  And America voted him into office.  Congratulations.  Pardon me while I vomit, and watch my country die.

So Hey Dave....

"Why didn't you put up a post for the Army's Birthday?"  Because I was friggin BUSY, that's why, and I didn't have the internet!  Didn't you listen earlier?  Luckily, Big Dick put up a post to celebrate the birthday of Our Beloved Army.

Oh, and that post is so NSFW it's not even funny.

One thing I missed

Was Helen Thomas getting canned for her anti-Semetic comments.

Well fucking FINALLY!  How long has it been since Tony Snow thanked that senile woman for presenting the Hezbullah View?  Only now people are waking up to the fact that she's an anti-semetic piece of trash?

Sheesh.

Give me a bit to re-engage.

HOLY SCHNIKIES!

170 emails?  Ouch.

Sorry if I haven't gotten back to you.  I didn't have internet access for a week and a half.  Now I gotta go through them and see what I missed.

"The War Prayer" Mark Twain (kind of long)

My beloved son always enjoys reading me stories. Tonight he read me "the War Prayer" by Mark Twain. It is about 2 pages and really hit me. I hope ya'll enjoy.

It was a time of great and exalting excitement. The country was up in arms, the war was on, in every breast burned the holy fire of patriotism; the drums were beating, the bands playing, the toy pistols popping, the bunched firecrackers hissing and spluttering; on every hand and far down the receding and fading spread of roofs and balconies a fluttering wilderness of flags flashed in the sun; daily the young volunteers marched down the wide avenue gay and fine in their new uniforms, the proud fathers and mothers and sisters and sweethearts cheering them with voices choked with happy emotion as they swung by; nightly the packed mass meetings listened, panting, to patriot oratory which stirred the deepest deeps of their hearts, and which they interrupted at briefest intervals with cyclones of applause, the tears running down their cheeks the while; in the churches the pastors preached devotion to flag and country, and invoked the God of Battles beseeching His aid in our good cause in outpourings of fervid eloquence which moved every listener. It was indeed a glad and gracious time, and the half dozen rash spirits that ventured to disapprove of the war and cast a doubt upon its righteousness straightway got such a stern and angry warning that for their personal safety's sake they quickly shrank out of sight and offended no more in that way.

Sunday morning came -- next day the battalions would leave for the front; the church was filled; the volunteers were there, their young faces alight with martial dreams -- visions of the stern advance, the gathering momentum, the rushing charge, the flashing sabers, the flight of the foe, the tumult, the enveloping smoke, the fierce pursuit, the surrender! Then home from the war, bronzed heroes, welcomed, adored, submerged in golden seas of glory! With the volunteers sat their dear ones, proud, happy, and envied by the neighbors and friends who had no sons and brothers to send forth to the field of honor, there to win for the flag, or, failing, die the noblest of noble deaths. The service proceeded; a war chapter from the Old Testament was read; the first prayer was said; it was followed by an organ burst that shook the building, and with one impulse the house rose, with glowing eyes and beating hearts, and poured out that tremendous invocation

*God the all-terrible! Thou who ordainest! Thunder thy clarion and lightning thy sword!*

Then came the "long" prayer. None could remember the like of it for passionate pleading and moving and beautiful language. The burden of its supplication was, that an ever-merciful and benignant Father of us all would watch over our noble young soldiers, and aid, comfort, and encourage them in their patriotic work; bless them, shield them in the day of battle and the hour of peril, bear them in His mighty hand, make them strong and confident, invincible in the bloody onset; help them to crush the foe, grant to them and to their flag and country imperishable honor and glory --

An aged stranger entered and moved with slow and noiseless step up the main aisle, his eyes fixed upon the minister, his long body clothed in a robe that reached to his feet, his head bare, his white hair descending in a frothy cataract to his shoulders, his seamy face unnaturally pale, pale even to ghastliness. With all eyes following him and wondering, he made his silent way; without pausing, he ascended to the preacher's side and stood there waiting. With shut lids the preacher, unconscious of his presence, continued with his moving prayer, and at last finished it with the words, uttered in fervent appeal, "Bless our arms, grant us the victory, O Lord our God, Father and Protector of our land and flag!"

The stranger touched his arm, motioned him to step aside -- which the startled minister did -- and took his place. During some moments he surveyed the spellbound audience with solemn eyes, in which burned an uncanny light; then in a deep voice he said:

"I come from the Throne -- bearing a message from Almighty God!" The words smote the house with a shock; if the stranger perceived it he gave no attention. "He has heard the prayer of His servant your shepherd, and will grant it if such shall be your desire after I, His messenger, shall have explained to you its import -- that is to say, its full import. For it is like unto many of the prayers of men, in that it asks for more than he who utters it is aware of -- except he pause and think.

"God's servant and yours has prayed his prayer. Has he paused and taken thought? Is it one prayer? No, it is two -- one uttered, the other not. Both have reached the ear of Him Who heareth all supplications, the spoken and the unspoken. Ponder this -- keep it in mind. If you would beseech a blessing upon yourself, beware! lest without intent you invoke a curse upon a neighbor at the same time. If you pray for the blessing of rain upon your crop which needs it, by that act you are possibly praying for a curse upon some neighbor's crop which may not need rain and can be injured by it.

"You have heard your servant's prayer -- the uttered part of it. I am commissioned of God to put into words the other part of it -- that part which the pastor -- and also you in your hearts -- fervently prayed silently. And ignorantly and unthinkingly? God grant that it was so! You heard these words: 'Grant us the victory, O Lord our God!' That is sufficient. the *whole* of the uttered prayer is compact into those pregnant words. Elaborations were not necessary. When you have prayed for victory you have prayed for many unmentioned results which follow victory--*must* follow it, cannot help but follow it. Upon the listening spirit of God fell also the unspoken part of the prayer. He commandeth me to put it into words. Listen!

"O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle -- be Thou near them! With them -- in spirit -- we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it -- for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

(*After a pause.*) "Ye have prayed it; if ye still desire it, speak! The messenger of the Most High waits!"

It was believed afterward that the man was a lunatic, because there was no sense in what he said.

Grand Prairie, Texas

Hot.  Humid.  And the air is brown.  I can deal with the hot and humid.  Not the brown air.  Can't breathe during a run.  That flat out sucks.  By the way, the base I'm on isn't a base.  I don't quite know what it is, but it ain't a base.  I'm sitting in a Starbucks logged on, since there is no internet access on "base".

Had to make a trip to Wal Mart to buy sunscreen and bug spray.  Had flashbacks to Puerto Rico, as I didn't hear a word of English once I passed the greeter.

You want to see fat people?  Wal Mart, baby.  I'm talking the earth-shaking fat.  So fat they have their own gravitational field.  So fat they take up an entire row all on their own.  Rolls upon rolls of fat.  Either that, or they're greasy, dirty, haven't showered, stink to high heaven, and are wearing wife-beater T-Shirts.  If I were from Texas, I'd try to disown Grand Prairie.  I really would.  Walking around here is the greatest motivator for weight loss that I can think of.  "OH GOD, I NEVER WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT!!!!!  HELP ME JENNIE CRAIG!!!!"

And most of them are Mexican.  I keep hearing about fat Americans.  But the fat people here don't speak English.  Does anyone else have a problem with that?

I've seen more pimped out SUV's than I care to count.  You want to know what I call an SUV with low-profile tires, chromed out rims and shiney paint?  A compensation mobile.  They have a very tiny penis, and they try to make up for it with a big, flashy vehicle.  Men, if you have a truck or an SUV, and it doesn't have dirt or signs of actual use, I am going to make fun of you.  Don't like it?  Then get that vehicle dirty.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'm out of here.  See you in two weeks or so.

Headed out

Again.

Just.....  well anyways, I'm off again.  See you in two weeks.

And guys, I'm at the point where I wonder if I shouldn't just shut this thing down, seeing as how I'm not going to be posting a whole lot this summer.  I've said before this is the crazy time.  I wasn't kidding.

And this is why

I don't use Google.

Meh.  I have Dogpile set up as my search engine.

Detail

The very first funeral detail I was ever on, I wasn't ready for.  The NCOIC came up to me and asked "Dave......  are your Class A's ready?"  I answered yes, and he said "Good.  You're leaving tomorrow".

And I left, my uniform prepped.  I wasn't ready for it at all.  I'd never done a funeral detail.  I didn't know what was required.  I didn't  know much.  But I learned.

I spend the next two days prepping for the funeral.  Due to circumstances, the pall bearers doubled as the rifle team.  So we carried the casket to it's place, then marched over to the rifles, fired the twenty-one gun salute, and then marched back to fold the flag.  In retrospect, it helped me prepare for all the funerals I would do in the future.  We practiced for longer than I care to remember until we carried the casket and marched to the rifles without a single verbal command.  Once we had the rifles, it was READY!  AIM!  FIRE!  READY!  AIM!  FIRE!  READY!  AIM!  FIRE!  Then we set the rifles back down and marched back to the casket.  After that, all orders were given in a low voice.

Ready.  Down.  Up.  Fold the flag.

The Deputy Commander of US Army South, a Brigadier General whose name I'm withholding presented the flag to the parents.  The father, a retired Soldier himself, was struggling to hold himself together.  The mother and the brother had started weeping long ago.  You want to know the hardest part of being in the funeral detail?  Holding yourself together when the entire family is being ripped apart with grief.  We managed to do it, god only knows how.  When we first arrived, the casket was being moved from the airplane to the hearse.  I almost lost it right then, but it wasn't the parents that got to me.  I expected their grief, and was prepared for it.  No, what got to me the most was this - as the mother was collapsed, crying on the coffin, as the father was doing his best to comfort his wife and contain his grief, the brother was behind them both, with tears streaming down his face.

And that's the most he showed.  He had his hands on his mothers shoulder, and he was leaning against his father, and he was crying hard but without making a single sound.  He had tears streaming down his face, and you could see that he was struggling not to break.  Struggling, and losing that struggle, as he tried to deal with the fact that his brother was dead, only not just dead but dead so horribly that it would be a closed casket funeral, and we only had to carry half the weight of a normal body.  And he was trying to comfort his mother and his father as they wept, and still grieve himself.

I was locked up at the position of present arms, heels together, fingers to my eyebrow, and he was directly in front of me.  And as I watched him grieve and simultaneously try to comfort his parents, I almost lost it.  I had a single tear roll down my face as I watched this family deal with the death of their son and brother, and the only thing that kept me from losing it was the simple fact that this Soldier deserved better than to have some pansy-assed dipshit lose it while escorting him to his final resting place.  I kept that in mind while the hearse was loaded.  It was easier once the actual funeral started, because it's a lot more formal.  You don't have the raw, primal displays of grief that you do when you first off-load the casket.  But it's still hard.  The mother cried the entire time, and the father......  the father, how can I explain this - the father was a retired Warrant Officer in the US Army.  Once he had retired, he joined a volunteer organization who's entire focus and function was to help the families of Soldiers who had been killed in combat.  I can't remember the name of his organization, all I remember is the fact that he was able to give us the instructions he wanted followed, and then he was pretty much broken from his pain.  And the entire time I was doing this, my first funeral detail, the only thought I had in my head was "Don't you dare break.  Don't you dare break down.  You fucking wimp, you haven't gone through one tenth the pain these people have, don't you DARE FUCKING BREAK DOWN!"

But it's hard, when you're faced with the sheer open pain of a family who has just lost their son and their brother or their sister.

We managed to do it, that first time.  I was lucky in that I had excellent leadership who helped guide me through the process.  Shortly after that, I became the leader of the rifle team for funeral details.  I've stood at Parade Rest for over an hour and a half for certain funerals.  You never know what it's going to be like.  I've had the mother grab hold of us and tell us tales of her son, to the point that we were doing footraces in the street with the Soldier's brother, because that's what they used to do as kids.  And when you have a teenager who's just lost his brother in Afghanistan, and he asks you to race, what are you going to do?  Say no?  Hell no.  You kick your shoes off and race him in the streets.  The mother was drunk to high heaven, trying to kill her pain, and we spent hours and hours talking to her.  By the time the night was up we all got maybe three to four hours of sleep, but it was worth it to make sure this mother knew that her son didn't die in vain.

For the record, her son was a medic in Afghanistan, and had saved the lives of too many people to count.  A Sergeant from his unit escorted his body home, and we pretty much press-ganged him into the funeral detail.  The thing I remember most about that funeral detail is that as we folded the flag and prepared to move away from the burial site, this Sergeant knelt down by the Soldier's little brother, and took off his jump wings, his Airborne insignia, and gave it to the Soldier's little brother, and said "These are the wings your brother wears.  You keep them safe."

I don't think a single member of that funeral detail had dry eyes.  And I'm crying as I type this now, and I'm not ashamed to admit it, remembering what happened.

I think I didn't know just how bad the funeral details were effecting me until I found out that my NCOIC was telling the command "Leave Dave alone.  He's done enough."  I can't remember how many funerals I've done.  I just know that I never once, not fucking ONCE did I ever say no to one.  The least I could do for my fellow Soldiers was make sure that they were remembered with respect and reverence.  I stopped counting after about twenty.  At one point I was doing one a week, sometimes two.  And I made damn sure that those families knew that their loved ones were going to the great hereafter in proper style.  Part of the reason I was picked to be the rife team leader was because I memorized the commands and didn't just say them, I barked them out so that the funeral would hear them from a football field away.

TEAM!  ATTENTION!  PORT, ARMS!  HALF-RIGHT, FACE!
READY!  *click*  AIM!  FIRE  *BANG*
READY!  *click*  AIM!  FIRE  *BANG*
READY!  *click*  AIM!  FIRE  *BANG*

HALF LEFT, FACE!  PRESENT, ARMS!

That was my job, and I'll be damned if anyone did it better than I did.  Those Soldiers deserved no less.  The families who wept and grieved deserved no less.  If nothing else, they deserved to know that their loved ones died for something more than just politics, or something more that just the BS that gets presented day after day in the media.  I had a mother grabbing my arms and crying and asking what her son died for, and I told her then, and I still believe it now - her son died a hero, saving the lives of his fellow Soldiers, laying down his life for them, all in an attempt to make this world a safer, better place.

I wish I could put the names of all the Soldiers I've served on this blog.  I hate to say it, but I've done so many that I've forgotten half of them, and that fact makes me ashamed.  I wish I could remember all of them, but my brain just doesn't hold that information and OPSEC stops me from naming the ones I do remember.

I said in the post below that I couldn't find a thing to write.  That's not entirely true.  I couldn't find a thing to write that would be appropriate for the people who I've saluted and respected on their final journey, and to be blunt this post doesn't do them justice.  But it's the best I can do.  And I hope that when I meet them on the other side, they shake my hand and say "Thank you.  You gave me the respect I deserved."

I will try to do so until the day that I die.  They deserve no less.  And I ask you, anyone who reads this blog, to just take a moment to think about all the people who have died in the service of this country, and think "Thank you."  One of the best, and most simple prayers I've ever heard, was from a guy named Pete who used to work at my building.  He was a former alcoholic, an AA member, who did his best to pray on a daily basis.  And he told me once in passing that sometimes the best he could do was "Good morning, God.  It's Pete.  Thank you."  I think that's what our fallen heros need.  "Good Morning.  This is an American.  Thank you."

I know I say that.  How about you?

Memorial Day

I've been trying to come up with a fitting Memorial Day post, and to be honest with you guys, I got bupkis right now.  So many other people have come up with fitting tributes, and pictorial essays, that I look around and think to myself "How can I say anything to match that?"

So let me just be plain and simple, the way I like to be -

I have had excellent leadership in the Army, and I've had horrible leadership.  I've seen selfless service and greedy bastards.  I've spent less time in theater than some, and more time than others.  But we have the best damn military in the world, who does more with less support than anyone could ever dream.  Which might sound trite and cheap when you think about the billions of dollars in the military budget, but we have Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in over 100 countries around the world right now, building schools, vaccinating kids, teaching people how to farm and how to grow food, setting up water purification sites, acting as deterrents against hostile dictators, rebuilding and strengthening cities, on and on and on and on.  We have Soldiers on six continents full time.  We are spread over the world, and only in a few places are shots actually being fired.

We're not just the world's police force, we're the world's engineering force.  We're the world's construction force too.  We're the world's rescue service.  And we do it better, faster, and cheaper than anyone else.  I'm humbled to be a part of it all.  Grateful as well, because the Army has given me a hell of a lot, starting with the self-discipline I needed when I was a stupid young punk way back when.  But in everything I've accomplished in the military, I did it while standing on the shoulders of the giants who came before me.

There's a Wall of Heros as you enter my building.  It's roped off and lit up, and has the faces of the Soldiers from my unit who have died in combat.  I look at that wall every day, and thank them for what they did and what they gave, so that my wife and I could sit in the comfort of our home here and enjoy life together.  It's a humbling experience to do day after day.  And it's a necessary one, so that the Soldiers and civilians who I work with never forget the sacrifice others made for us.

I won't say "Happy" Memorial Day, because I don't know if cheeriness and happiness is what is required.  So I will simply say to enjoy this day, and remember why it exists.  See you tomorrow.

It ain't the Foxholes that are the problem

One of the biggest strawmen argument I've ever heard when it comes to gays in the military is "I'd be happy to share a foxhole with (name that homosexual)!"  But the foxhole isn't where the problems come in to play.  When you're in a foxhole, you're in combat.  You most likely won't be having sex while the shells are coming down.  No, the problems crop up once you're out of that foxhole and back in the rear.

Once again, does anyone think that the military would force me to room with a female?  "OK Dave, here's your barracks room and here's your room mate, Private Nancy Smith.  Enjoy!"  No, not only would the military not force me to do that, they PROHIBIT that by regulation.

Does anyone think that the military would force me to shower with the females?  "OK Dave, we have one latrine, so just drop trou and get clean.  By the way, that's PFC Shirley Jones in there right now, but she won't mind!"  Hell no I couldn't do that.  In fact, if I got naked and jumped in the female shower, I'd be arrested and charged with violating several different UCMJ articles.

And yet, the very same people who would slap me with sexual harassment charges if I tried to shower with PFC Shirley Jones are demanding that I accept that very same sexual dynamic being forced on me just because it's now someone of the same gender.

It's not about an individual Soldier's fighting skills.  It's not about a desire to serve.  It's about bringing a sexual dynamic into a situation that cannot have sex involved without negative and desultory effects.  If you want proof of sex being a negative influence in theater, all you have to do is look at what Gen Cucolo faced when he tried to enforce UCMJ punishment on Soldiers who either got pregnant, or got another Soldier pregnant while in Iraq.  This wasn't just a joke.  When a Soldier gets knocked up, they have to go back home, which means that the unit is either one Soldier down, or they have to pull someone from home station and cross level them into the unit.  That's not as easy as it sounds, and it puts unnecessary strain on the unit and the new Soldier, disrupting operations and causing resentment among other Soldiers who don't have the option of getting pregnant and going home to their family.

And let me tell you, if you want to see a unit go from decent headspace to negative headspace in less than a week, you just tell them that PFC Martha Johnson is preggers and getting to go home, but the rest of them have to stay in country.  It just does WONDERS for the moral of the unit!

Soldiers getting pregnant in theater is a problem across many levels, and this General was trying to deal with a few of the more harmful side effects.  But because of the political correct ideology that has infested the military, this Commanding General can't even punish Soldiers who violate General Order #1 and get knocked up.  You think that allowing homosexual Soldiers won't be a problem?  Sure, let's just add ANOTHER sexual dynamic into a mix that is already strained.  And the first time some guy cops a feel in the shower and gets his ass beaten like a drum, the lawsuits start flying.  The accusations of "EEEEK!  EEEEEK!  HATE CRIME!  HATE CRIME!" start flying around.  Even MORE politically correct bullshit infects the Army, like a tapeworm that keeps on growing.  No, scratch that, it's not a tapeworm, because you can shit out a tapeworm.  Heartworm.  Infecting the organ that keeps you moving and alive, eventually killing you as you stagger around coughing and wondering why you can't seem to breathe anymore.

Not one single person pushing for allowing open homosexuality in the military has bothered to answer any of the concerns people have brought up.  In fact, the people bringing up the concerns have been ignored, shouted down, silenced, insulted, called names, and pushed aside.  That tells me that the people pushing for repealing DADT know about the problems it will cause, but they don't care.  They'd rather push their ideology on the military come hell or high water, and when shit starts to fall apart they'll most likely blame the military for it because it's easy to blame people who can't respond or act.  It's easy to blame people who have to keep their mouth shut.

If you think that repealing DADT is a good thing, you are wrong.  Plain and simple.  The Army is not a social program.  We're not a civilian workplace.  We cannot operate under the same rules and principals of the civilian world, because we do not operate in a civilian environment.  And I really, really wish to hell that people would remember that before they try to push the next social experiment on us.

A timeline

Of Obama's incompetence in responding to the oil spill.  A whole lotta golf.  A whole lotta grip-n-grin going on.  A whole lotta nothing.

Obama is unfit to be president, and this latest episode only proves it.  He is, however, excellent about lying about his response.

Click it or Ticket

Have you seen these commercials?  It's pink citations flying down the road and attacking people who don't wear their seatbelts, with an ominous voice-over saying "OFFICERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY ARE WRITING TICKETS!  IF YOU DON'T WEAR YOUR SEATBELT, YOU COULD PAY A FINE!"

Now, aside from the fact that I have huge problems with the government legislating all this, here's what struck me about it as I was driving home tomorrow.  The Obama administration obviously cannot handle a state enforcing immigration laws.  Yet they have no problem with enforcing a nationwide law that interferes in a private citizen's life.

Maybe it's because interfering in a private citizen's life brings in cash, whereas enforcing immigration laws costs money.

Whew

Sorry 'bout that lack of free ice cream there, folks.  I'm back now, for a few days anyways.  Like I said, crazy time.

Busy times are here again

Light posting from here on out, folks.  Gonna be a little while.

Links

So Obama gave a speech at West Point.  As the Commander in Chief, it's rather expected that you address the next batch of officers who will be fighting your wars.

But damn.

Just.....  damn.

Let me just get this out front, mmkay?  Barack Hussein Obama is a gutless, spineless, nutless little fucking bitch, and the fact that America made him the Commander in Chief literally makes me want to renounce my citizenship in this country.  The only thing that keeps me from doing such is the knowledge that at some point, Barack Hussein Obama will no longer be president, although the country he leaves behind will be damaged beyond our ability to repair it, and the most we have to look forward to is a downward spiral into irrelevance, poverty, weakness, socialist slavery, and finally death.  But I'm going to fight it every step of the way, because it's the only right thing to do.  But for all the people who voted for that worthless fucking sack of communist shit, fuck you.  Fuck the horse you rode it on, fuck the goat who spawned it, and fuck the mountain it fed on.  You are not my countrymen.  You're nothing more than brainless, mindless fucking zombiefied slaves who have clapped the chains on your own necks willingly, because you're too infantile and too weak to take responsibility for yourself, and thus have abdicated that responsibility and the freedoms that accompany it to the power of the ever-increasing government.

Is that clear enough?

Obama's limp-dick response to North Korea

Is going to hurt us in South Korea.  You think the Arabs are the only ones who give a shit about the strong horse vs. the weak horse?  No.  The Korean culture is very huge on respect and saving face, and being forced to do nothing even though they have solid proof that the Norks sank their ship is going to eat them alive from the inside out.  But the Obama administration, once again, is protecting a communist dictator at the expense of our allies.

And it's going to hurt us.  You think some of those South Korean rioters who want the US out are going to like us more now?  Hell no.  And many of the Koreans who regard the USA with something akin to friendship are going to be re-evaluating their assessment of America when America is preventing them from responding to a deliberate act of war by the Norks.

I don't know if I've said this before, but it needs to be said now - I don't know if we will be able to recover from the diplomatic damage that Obama is doing.  This is just another example of that damage.

Holy ...... just damn

Frankie Cee sent this YouTube of the dumbest caller in the world on the Michael Savage show.

She votes.

I really, really hope this caller was a joke.  But I've lived in liberal meccas before.  I've debated liberals.  This is what they sound like.  Thanks for the spike in BP there, Frankie.

Free Day

I actually have a free day today.  All mine.  I have to pack some for an upcoming trip, but other than that, I don't have to do anything I don't want to do.

What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Friday, May 21, 2010

I LOLed.

I truly did.  The Smoke Grenades fit perfectly in the cupholders!

I doubt we'll see that model over here though.  US auto companies like to build totally kick ass cars, trucks and SUV's, and then only sell them overseas.

Speechless

I guess the Democrat American Communist Party isn't content with showing it's anti-Americanism through legislation - they have to bring in the leader of our corrupt, crime-ridden, drug cartel controlled southern neighbor and then applaud him while he lambasts Arizona for writing a law to deal with criminals coming from said neighbor.

What.

The.

FUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hey GOP!  Hey RNC?  You have the video!  You have the actions of the Donks on tape!  ARE YOU GOING TO USE IT?!?!?!

Ten bucks says no.  The nutless, gutless, spineless pukes.  Gah.  I'm so pissed at the traitorous pieces of shit that I can barely type.

Chilling

I guess the worthless corrupt shitweasels in Congress don't like the common rabble talking about them.

The same sloppy legislative writing that created so many unintended consequences in ObamaCare also plagues the DISCLOSE Act, the effort in Congress to tighten spending rules in the wake of the Citizens United decision — and that’s the generous take on the situation.  Reason’s Bradley Smith and Jeff Patch warn that the perhaps-unintended consequences of legislative language will allow the FEC to regulate political speech online.  The fact that media entities like the New York Times have specific exemptions built into the bill makes the intent, or lack thereof, rather murky:

I don't give a damn what their intentions are - the fact that Congress would even think to write a bill like this means that every bastard who is attached to it, either through sponsoring for voting "aye", needs to be impeached.

And then have the constitution tattooed backwards on their forehead, with the 1st Amendment in bold letters, so that they can read it every day.

Hammer your Congresscritter

This is why a Conservative win in 2010 is so important - we have got to repeal Obamacare before it wrecks this country's health care system, as it's promising to do.

The end result of the consolidation that will follow ObamaCare will be increased bureaucracies and fewer choices.  The mandate burden will mean fewer independent clinics and providers, thanks to the increased start-up costs.  Doctors will look for the economies-of-scale approach and join a decreasing number of larger networks.  Insurers will affiliate themselves with fewer providers and networks as they pare down their offerings, which will already be constrained by the mandates for minimum coverage.  The so-called “Cadillac tax” will eliminate the high-end policies now offered as insurers attempt to avoid the ruinous taxes and fees imposed on those plans.

I hope you enjoyed your health care while you had it.  Follow the link to read about how doctors in Texas are refusing to deal with Medicare because of the costs.  If Obamacare continues, I think you'll begin to see a whole host of doctors that refuse to deal with the government at all, and do cash-only businesses so as to avoid all the regulation and paperwork that goes with insurance and government mandates.

Hell, that might be the only way to get health care in the future.

Liar liar pants on fire

Democrat Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut AG, claims he served in Viet Nam.  Only problem?  He didn't.  I could go on about how this cockholster needs to be tied naked to a fire ant hill, but really....  just look at the guy.  Carrying around that face is punishment enough.  He's a gigantic penis with ears.

Who is Micheal Posner

Michelle Malkin did some digging on the braindead fucktard who apologized to China for American civil rights.  If this is the example of the fine modern leadership of the State Department, then all I can say is that nothing has changed in the past decade at Foggy Bottom.  It's still a cesspool of leftist shitheads.

Yay.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Oh, just great

The Obama Administration has gone and started apologizing to the frikkin' CHINESE for us being American.  Is there any dictator that this group of shitstains won't capitulate to?

[Assistant Secretary of State Michael] Posner said in addition to talks on freedom of religion and expression, labor rights and rule of law, officials also discussed Chinese complaints about problems with U.S. human rights, which have included crime, poverty, homelessness and racial discrimination.
He said U.S. officials did not whitewash the American record and in fact raised on its [sic] own a new immigration law in Arizona that requires police to ask about a person's immigration status if there is suspicion the person is in the country illegally.

Hey, I have an idea - why don't we wait until the Chinese no longer force women to have abortions before we start apologizing for the human and civil rights we have in America!  Just unbelieveable!  What's next? Are we going to apologize to Iran for the way we treat women in this country?

Open Carry Picnic

I managed to haul my ass off the couch yesterday and head out to the La Crosse County Open Carry Picnic.  Chicken, folks, and firearms.  It was fairly low key - no hotheads, no idiots, just people out enjoying the sunshine and having lunch.  I'd say there were 150-200 folks there.  Roughly three-quarters of them were open carrying.  I didn't take too many pictures, mainly because I was just enjoying myself and having a good time.  I did however take a picture of a pistol grip that I might have to find for my 1911.

Click to enlarge.  Ye Olde Gadsden flag on snakeskin-colored pistol grips.  Davey Like!  There are plenty of other pictures at the link if you want to go check them out.

Now, compare this event to this poor bastard who got arrested for "disorderly conduct" because he was shopping while open carrying.  Please note - Wisconsin is no-issue; no concealed carry allowed what so ever.  However, the state supreme court says that citizens have a right to carry arms, which means you open carry or nothing.  So this guy gets arrested for doing something completely legal.  THAT is why events like this are so important.  Consider it a mass demonstration, if you will.  A little notice that we are here, we are law abiding, and we will exercise our rights.

Your humble narrator.  I might make that my profile picture.

Anyone know what this is?

Got someone who emailed this to me, asking if I knew anything about it.  Called it a "snake stopper".  I've never seen anything like it, but me being a northern boy, we don't have much call for snake stoppers.  The only real snakes around my parents house are garter snakes, and the worst they do is poo on you if you handle them too rough.

Looks wicked though, doesn't it?  I've got to assume that whatever it was meant to catch, it wasn't supposed to live.

Oh Sanctissima

Another Latin Hymn that's sadly missing from most Catholic masses.  I don't know if I'll make it to mass today, as I'm not certain I'm well enough to be around other folks in confined spaces.  So this will have to do for church music today.

The BMI is a load of shit

And the government wants to use it to monitor how much you weigh?  Figures.  This is the kind of crap that needs to be beaten down hard.  I'll be damned if any government agency that allows Bawney Fwank to waddle his ass to committee leadership positions will be investigating how much I or any of my family weighs.

Can someone tell me

Just why the hell anyone listens to Pat Buchanan?  Anyone?

Sleeping in

Damn, I must be sicker than I thought.  I woke up at around 5:30 to take the dog out, crashed on the couch until eight, then wandered back into the bedroom and slept until half past noon.

I guess my body just said "Yer goin' DOWN, buddy boy!"  I can't remember the last time I slept so much.

Procrastination personified

I finally got around to putting up Day by Day on the sidebar, after how many months?

Meh.  I'm doing this for free, ain't I?  You get what you pay for.

Cough cough hack hack

Gah.  Well, all those allergies that I thought I had weren't allergies, it was a virus taking it's time to make me miserable.

So I'm home, drinking hot beverages, and actually taking a day off.  Which almost never happens.  Which is probably why I got sick in the first place.

Dammit.

What the hell is that?

It's like Frank Sinatra had an illegitimate love child with Yuri Brezmenov and taught it to sing in the 1960's.  Seriously.  And it wears so much makeup that I first thought it was a puppet.

Just....  Damn.  Sad part is, I can see that being reproduced in some college as "high art".

However the cat is cute as hell.

Feel that smart diplomacy!

Obama is now officially Russia's little bitch.

Let me restate that for those who don't quite comprehend it - the President of the United States is Russia's little bitch.

Yeah.  Love that smart diplomacy!  How's it workin' for ya, Lefties?

Gah, sick

My lymph nodes are the size of golfballs, and my voice is shot.

No free ice cream for you today.  Sorry.

Allergy Hell

Did you know that the tree pollen count in Wisconsin is higher this year than it's been in twenty years?

Yeah.  I have what feels like the worst head cold in the world.  Sore throat.  Stuffy nose.  Plugged up ears.  Itchy eyes.

But no fever.  No hacking cough.  No snot in any color.  No signs what so ever that this is an infection, either viral or bacterial.  Just the pain of an infection without the actual infection.  So I guess on one hand, great, I'm not sick.  But on the other hand I still FEEL like crap, and now I don't have any excuse to stay home.  Oh, and we're doing fiscal law training this week.  Joy.  I wish I could tell you just how exciting fiscal law is, but the only real thing I can say is that I want to take Congress and drag them over a mile of broken glass, because over half of all the fucked up law out there exists only because Congress says so.

I have DayQuil somewhere.......

Piling on

The whole Arizona Immigration Law debate - Big Journalism has a clip of a radio interview with the Pinal County Sheriff.  Go clicky.

Last month alone, just in one patrol region, we had sixty-four pursuits.  That means people who were driving a vehicle, failed to yield, took off like a bat out of hell, running red lights, creating traffic wrecks, numerous people were killed in these wrecks over the last several months, and who are these people?  Not one of them was a U.S. citizen.

There ain't a single person who would accept that kind of crime without howling about it to the authorities. So why do so many people tell Arizona to just live with it?

Somebody's going to hell

For stealing the Mojave Desert War Memorial Cross.

Of course, that's if they're lucky and they die before anyone military related gets their hands on them.  Because if a veteran manages to land a hold of them, their trip to hell is going to take a detour onto Painful Hell On Earth Boulevard.  And I'll be more than willing to help.

HolyMoly

Bill Whittle goes at it.  And he doesn't pull any punches.

Nancy Pelosi uses her religion

I say "uses" because she sure doesn't adhere to any tenants of faith from the Catholic Church.  KisP has a video where Granny Rictus talks about how the Catholic Church "needs to speak from the pulpit" regarding illegal immigration.

Hey Nancy - what about speaking from the pulpit against abortion?  Because that's also something the Catholic Church takes a strong opinion about, and you're more than happy to ignore that.

God, that woman makes me sick to my stomach.  The sheer amount of stupidity combined with hypocrisy, multiplied by statist power-grabbing rhetoric leaves you with one huge anti-American piece of shit.

The more I read about Elena Kagan

The less I like her.

Hard core leftist?  Well, that goes without saying.  She was nominated by the Marxist Messiah, who's goal is to fundamentally change America from a prosperous, capitalist country to a socialist/communist oligarchy.

She's never actually....  ya know.....  BEEN A JUDGE?  And now we expect her to perform that function in the highest court in the land?

Oh hell no.

She was instrumental in getting ROTC recruiters kicked off the Harvard campus?  It's about that point where I started writing my Congressmen and said "Not just no but HELL NO."

And she's fifty.  She could have decades of destroying this country on the bench.

The Common Thread

Can someone tell me, is there ANYONE Obama has picked to be in his cabinet, or be one of his "czars", or whatever, who hasn't worked for or with Goldman Sachs?  Because for the amount of hate the Marxist Messiah throws at Wall Street, he's sure got a jones for Goldman Sachs people, like his nominee to the Supreme Court.

Dude..... where's my life?

Sure as shit, along with all the suggestions regarding what to do about the border between the USA and Mexico, there's someone talking about legalizing drugs.  This time it's DJ Allyn from the Rott.  Halfway down his post:

Legalize marijuana, and decriminalize cocaine and most other Schedule II narcotics. Okay, I know that this one is probably going to be a bit tough to swallow, but listen it out and think about it before jumping out against it.
Our “War on Drugs” has been a costly and complete failure. It has done nothing to curb our appetite for drugs. Because of this, we’ve created Capone-like groups that prey on American society — a lot of them being illegal aliens and drug cartels that only exist because illegal drugs means big money to those that provide them.

Now, I used to jump up and down about the failure of the War on (some) Drugs, about how it wasn't worth it, etc., etc., etc.  But I wonder just how many of the people who are advocating for the legalization of drugs have spent much time around the end result of the drug culture.  Anybody willing to admit that?  Because let me tell you what I've been around, both from my employment and from my personal life - the people who use illegal drugs on a regular basis are NOT the kinds of folks who you want to have living next to you, or working with you.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you were to legalize every drug tomorrow you would have a crime wave.  Because people who are addicted to drugs by and large do not hold down jobs adequate enough to pay for their drug habits.

Now, me being who I am, I don't like to dwell in theory all that much.  Oh sure, theories might be fine to sit around and discuss and debate, but if you're going to talk about real-world actions, I want real world data.  Like, say, Mexico, as discussed in a rebuttal post at the Rott by Subotal Bahadur:

It is not widely known [and I suspect because it would upset a lot of political applecarts] but MEXICO legalized personal possession and use of ‘harmless drugs’ as marijuana, LSD, cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and crystal meth almost a year ago.
In the last few years, 23,000 people have died in drug related killings in Mexico.

The only place I know of where legalization of (some) drugs has worked is Amsterdam, under tightly controlled conditions.  Conditions that I know wouldn't be accepted by the people currently screaming for the legalization of drugs in America.

Let me ask you this - let's say I open a business.  America legalizes drugs.  Am I allowed to discriminate against a pothead?  Or would I face a lawsuit for violating someone's "civil rights"?  Because after my past dealings with potheads, I wouldn't want one working for me, period.  I wouldn't trust one with a bankroll.  I wouldn't trust one with the keys to my business.  But if we legalize drugs in America, I'll bet my business (and I bet that I would!) that I won't be allowed to show a pothead the door.

Now look at Mexico, where they've legalized quite a bit, and far from drugs being a tax-revenue bonanza, the drug cartels have taken over.  Would anyone like to show me some hard evidence that this wouldn't happen in America if we legalize drugs here?  Hell, is there any evidence that would show ANY kind of different reaction?

Anyone?

That's funny

I got a hit from the New York Slimes.  One.  Hit.  The visit length was a whole whopping 0 seconds.

I still don't see where they linked to me.  But I think that's funny as hell.  Because I get more hits from Kim du Toit's old blogroll, and he's been retired from blogging for damn near two years now.

And for any New York Times editors and writers - I hope your worthless bird-cage liner sinks like a lead balloon, and you all get laid off.

Now kiss my ass.

I know, I know, not very Christian of me to say on a Sunday.  I'll try to do better.

Nestle joins douchebag for Glenn Beck boycott

This is pissing me off.

As usual, StopBeck participants reached out to Nestle for clarification and urged them to cease advertising on Glenn Beck’s show. The efforts paid off! Nestle confirmed that they do not advertise on Glenn Beck’s show; they advised that the ads were run in error and that the mistake has been corrected. Going forward don’t expect to see Nestle ads on Glenn Beck’s show.
The Ragin' Mrs and I normally buy Purina One for our four-legged friend, but that's going to stop.  We'll find another dog food that's of comparable quality, because Purina is owned by Nestle, and I'll be damned if I support any company that allows a Left Wing Douchebag to influence it's business practices.

Go click the link.  You'll find another link to contact Nestle, and a list of products that Nestle produces on the right hand side of the page.  I wrote Nestle and simply told them that boycotting a show that's handily winning it's time slot isn't good business, and that I am simply going to boycott them until they stop their boycott of Glenn Beck.

I'm done being nice.

Blood boiling

I saw the story of the students in California kicked out of school for wearing tee-shirts with the American flag on it, and there were a few thoughts that crossed my mind, most of them not fit to print.  I think I'll settle for this -

If the thought of someone wearing a piece of clothing depicting the American flag, in an American school, in America, on what just happens to be a Mexican holiday, is a disturbing thought to you and makes you feel "disrespected".....  Then get the fuck out.  Just take your ass and get back to Mexico, because you are NOT an American.  Oh, you might have a piece of paper that says you're American, but you don't THINK like an American, you don't ACT like an American, and you don't WANT to be American.

My brother-in-law, who just so happens to be a naturalized citizen, is ten times the American that these little complaining, festering anal-warts are.

And of COURSE this happened in California.  Is there a way we can just cut that state off from the rest of the country and shove it out to sea?  Sometimes you have to cut off the gangrene in order to save the rest of the body.

Obama doesn't give a shit about America.

Nashville drowned underwater, an oil well gushed gallons into the Gulf of Mexico, and Obama went to a Press Corps dinner where he received the adulation of his adoring worshippers.

We know what his priorities are.

Hey Leftoids - is anyone going to hold the Marxist Messiah's feet to the fire like you did the last president? You know, the one who actually visited disaster sites and worked to try to repair the damage?

*crickets*

Ahem

Let me just repeat this for everyone - the last Navy SEAL was acquitted in abusing a terrorist tumblefuck.

Got that?  After putting our nation's finest through the wringer on the say-so of a damned TERRORIST, all SEALs have been acquitted.  Is there any other damned politically correct pussies out there that want to start accusing our military of anything else?

Obama top recipient of BP lobbyist monies

Well then, maybe that's why the Obama administration sat on their hands for over a week while the BP oil well gushed crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

Or maybe Obama is just one of the most incompetent fucking idiots to ever befoul the Oval Office.

Either works.

Two Americas

Do you have your registration at PJTV yet?  Because you should.  Hell, we complain about the Leftist media all day long, but how many of us support the media that supports us?

How to things happen in this country?  People put their money where their mouth is.

So on that note, here's the newest Bill Whittle Afterburner.

And on the opposite side of the same coin, here's Velociman:

Once a hapless citizen is denied the kindness of a stranger because he possesses the expectation that the Government Integral will dispense it in lieu of the stranger, along with a salt tablet and a quarter of cheese, the social compact has been broken. Kindness is no longer required, nor is thanks.

It's all of a thing. Today I would likely direct that Spaniard to a help booth. There's an app for that, you poor legless fuck. Get on board. Just don't look to me for help. I gave at the 15th of April festivities. Nothing here for you now.

It's a sad thing, but it was inevitable. There ain't nothing we can do as individuals that the government can't do more poorly, more insensitively, and more inefficiently.

It's the American Way.

I don't know about you, but I know what America I want to live in.

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Aw, how cute!

The Marxist Messiah wants to call us teabaggers!

That would make that little communist cockholster the teabaggee.  Fine and dandy!

In all the hoopla

About Arizona's immigration bill, I've seen one, count 'em ONE article that mentions actually building the damn fence along the border.

Let's set aside the rampant crime that's coming across our border.  Let's set aside the fact that a country without borders isn't much of a country at all.

If a terrorist wanted to get a nuke into America, say like a suitcase nuke built and paid for by Iran, all they would have to do is hop off a boat somewhere on the Mexican coastline, and then walk across our Southern border.  Buh-bye Dallas.

Enjoy that thought.

The more I hear

about the Michigan "Hutaree" militia case, the more I'm convinced that their arrest was rushed by the Federal Government in order to provide a convenient "EEEEK!  RIGHT WING TERRORISTS!" story line.  Because the FedGov ain't doing so well, and everything they did seems to be half-assed.

Federal authorities touted the arrests of nine members of a Michigan militia as a pre-emptive strike against homegrown terrorists, declaring at an initial court hearing that the suspects with "dark hearts and evil intent" wanted to go to war against the government.
Five weeks later, prosecutors are scrambling to regroup after a judge questioned the strength of their evidence by ordering the so-called rebels released until trial and saying they had a right to "engage in hate-filled, venomous speech."
"The government is falling short," said David Griem, a former federal prosecutor who's not involved in the case. "The message that's been sent to the community is there are problems with this case."
During two days of hearings last week before U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts, prosecutors tried to show how dangerous they perceived the Hutaree militia to be by playing secretly recorded conversations. Those talks, however, revealed no specific plot. Under questioning by defense attorneys, the FBI's lead agent on the case seemed unprepared.

So, the FBI is pretty much fumbling the ball.  Did they arrest this group too early?  I mean, if these were such dangerous folk that they had to be arrested RIGHTNOW, giving Obama his chance to blame Republicans for every evil under the sun, they why the hell can't the FBI even convince a judge to keep them in jail?

And even if they were planning something, the way the FedGov has acted is giving whole new swathes of the country a reason to believe that the FedGov's jackbooted thugs have no problem stomping all over your rights as they kick your door down and stomp on your face.  Which will cause more people to form militias like the one they arrested in Michigan.  The militia movement was pretty much a joke until Ruby Ridge and Waco, and then people said "HOLY SHIT!  I'd better be prepared in case they try to do that to me!"

Anyways - once again, the FedGov screwed up.  I'd plan on seeing more screwups for the forseeable future.

Political Violence

This is what it looks like, in San Fransicko.

In Santa Cruz.

In North Carolina!

And it is Leftist, heart and soul.  While pro-American rallies and Tea Parties have been going on violence free for over a year, the anti-American, pro-illegal alien Left has gone absolutely apeshit over Arizona's new bill, and this is the result.  But you won't find the usual suspects making one damn peep about it.  Yet another example of how the MSM in this country is the enemy, the bought and paid for whores for the Democrat American Communist Party.

So, it wasn't the Internets that were broken

It was my wireless router.

Dammit.  Why does it always have to cost me money?  Ah well.  The Ragin' Mrs went and bought a good router, so we should be fine for the next couple of years.

Gulf oil spill becoming Obama's Katrina

Well, not really.  The Drive-by Media is too busy giving Obama's scrotum a tongue bath to do any kind of serious reporting.  Maybe when they stop being fanboys and panting over the Marxist Messiah's every golf swing, they'll get back to that hard-hitting journalism they can only manage when a Republican is in the Oval Office.  "Oooooo, look at that backswing!  SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  Oil spill?  There's an oil spill?  Can we blame it on Bush?  No?  Oh, well then, isn't Obama DREEEEEEEEEEAMY?"

Gah.  Oh, and check THIS out!

With President Barack Obama traveling to the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday, the administration deployed top officials to all of the major news talk shows to reinforce the theme that the federal response to the catastrophic oil spill has been as prompt and effective as possible.
And the propaganda whores will spin it that way, so long as the Liberal Lord and Savior tells them to do so.  Feckwits.

Gack.

Tree pollen in Wisconsin is "very high".

Yeah.  Like Mount Everest is "very high".  I've been a snot-producing bastard ever since I woke up.  I had no idea the human head could hold that much snot.  Forget Kleenex.  Hell no, those little things just won't do the job, not when I blow my nose in two paper towels and still have snot come flying out the bottom.

Allergies.  Gack.  I'm literally producing so much mucus I'm making myself sick.

Did someone break the internets?

Network is slow today.  Maybe the thunderstorms last night damaged something along the line.

Music for a Sunday

One of the things that I can't stand about the Catholic Church today is how, after Vatican II, we abandoned the heritage of music that we had gathered over CENTURIES.  When I see some flat melody and insipid lyrics in a song written by some hippy in 1976 being sung in church, I want to vomit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, no matter how you feel about the Catholic Church, you cannot deny the fact that for centuries the major composers wrote their music for the church, and people learned to sing it and play it.

Kyrie Eleison - Lord have mercy
Christe Eleison - Christ have mercy
Kyrie Eleison - Lord have mercy
Gloria en Excelsis Deo! - Glory to God in the highest!

Of the many crimes perpetrated against America by it's publik skool sistim, the failure to teach Latin, and the dismissal of classical music are two of the most grievous to me.  Well, OK, the failure to teach ENGLISH would be the most grievous crime.  But the failure to teach Latin would be number two.

Jumping around my brain

Are a couple of various thoughts.

One - that schools post from TSM that I linked to on Wednesday, if you haven't read it GO READ IT.  And then go read Neo-Neocon's post about how America views it's political leaders:

We assume that the cure will be worse than the disease. We expect that the bills will be rushed through without proper debate and enacted at the stroke of midnight, like evil spells in a fairy tale. We are no longer surprised at the depth and breadth of the corrupt and shady behind-the-scenes deals involved. We know the legislations will be lengthy and complex. We do not think our representatives possess the intelligence to even understand the bills they pass—that is, if they bother to read them at all—and either do not appreciate their negative consequences or actually intend them to do us harm. We know that, just when we think we’ve driven a fatal stake into the heart of an unpopular bill, it rises and staggers forward to attack us.

Ladies and gentlemen, one leads to the other.  One of my co-workers recently related how he dealt with a younger relative of voting age who tried to use Nancy Pelosi as an example of what's wrong with the Republican Party.

Co-Worker's Relative (CWR): "She's so stupid!  I can't believe the Republicans keep her around!"

Co-Worker (CW):  "Wait, what?"

CWR:  "Nancy Pelosi!  That's why I never vote Republican!"

CW:  "Why are you blaming Republicans for Nancy Pelosi?"

CWR:  "Because she's a REPUBLICAN!"

CW:  "OK now, what position does Nancy Pelosi hold?"

CWR:  "Speaker of the House!"

CW:  "And who is in control of Congress right now?"

CWR:  "The Democrats!  Thank God!"

CW:  "And who votes for the Speaker of the House?"

CWR:  "Those REPUBLICANS!"

CW:  "No, the Party in majority votes for the Speaker of the House."

CWR:  "What?"

CW:  "The Party.  Who is in the majority.  Votes for the person who becomes Speaker of the House."

CWR:  "But.....  Pelosi is a REPUBLICAN!"

CW:  "OK, let's try this again......"

If you want to know why America elected a corrupt Chicago Communist with no record of success at ANYTHING that wasn't handed to him on a silver platter, all you have to do is look at the failure of the American publik skool sistim.  How many people know high-schoolers who cannot name the three branches of the federal government?  I recently was on a forum where someone actually made the claim that instead of passing an immigration bill, Arizona should have made illegal entry into America a federal crime.

Just......  fuck.  How can you compete with idiocy like that?  That's a nuclear grade moron right there.  If you were to drop that person into Iran, all nuclear weapons production would cease because he would immediately lower the collective IQ of the entire fucking country by fifty points.  Another fine graduate of the publik skool sistim.

When people can no longer understand how the government works, they will latch on to the first huckster with a smooth delivery who promises to save them.  And I'll bet money that is why the Teleprompter Jesus won the election.  Because when you don't know how your own government operates, then you are unable to tell when you're being lied to.

Just another reason to destroy the American publik skool sistim.

The Mojave Desert Cross can stay

So says the Supreme Court.  Of course, the fact that it even made it this far makes me want to puke.  The ACLU has long since ceased to represent Americans as a whole, and now represents the far Left lunatic fringe of the worse kind of anti-American idiots.

Anyone who wants to take a cross down from a war memorial can kiss my ass.

Team Obama called SWAT on grandma?

Seriously?

Yes, seriously.  Complete with rooftop snipers.  Because you never know when those dangerous grannies are going to whip out milk and cookies and pamper you to death!

My lord, Obama must really want some sort of incident he can blame on the right.  He's pushing so very hard to get a reaction.

I wonder just what the SWAT team was thinking as they rolled out?  I mean, if they get orders to roll, they roll.  You can see in the pictures; their body language doesn't indicate they think there is ANY threat what so ever.  So they get a call to come out, they get all dressed up, and then march down the street to confront those tea-partying grandmas.  Take a look at the second picture - either the guy on the right is speaking into a microphone, or he's yawning.  Although I think I see a microphone cord stretching across his chest.  The entire line is standing there relaxed.  They know there's not a threat.  They got called out for this?

The people who called them out need to get fired.  That's a waste of man-hours and money.

Oh, wait, we can fire them in 2012.  Yay.

Quote of the day II

From Gateway Pundit:

“I’m sick and tired of Obama and the White House coming out with yet another new crisis that has to be fixed by government sticking it to the people and taking more of what we earn and produce. Instead of allowing our small businesses especially to keep what we earn… But see, to many in the White House including our own president, I don’t know when they’ve run a business. I don’t know when they’ve been a CEO where they had to look out for the bottom line and they had to make payroll and live within their own means with a budget. They’re from government. They’re community organizers. They’ve been spending other people’s money for so long that the free enterprise principles that all of us believe in, it’s all foreign to them.“

Emphasis mine.  And damn skippy.  THAT is why we love Sarah Palin in this house.

Have I mentioned

That I'm in my crazy period?

I am.

Pardon me if I don't write pithy essays for a while.  Sometimes short posts are all that's available.

Yet another schools post

Done as only Kevin Baker can do.  Too long to excerpt, just go and read the whole thing.  Ladies and gentlemen, if you have children in public school, you had best be ensuring that those schools are teaching your children actual subjects and not a bunch of feel-good pablum that wouldn't get them a job as a burger-flipper at Micky D's.  And then if you find those schools are failing, PULL YOUR KIDS OUT.  I'm willing to bet that most parents, armed with a math book, could teach their kids much better than any certified "teacher".  And if you need proof, just look as TSM's resident liberal, Markadelphia, is completely dismantled in the comments to that post.  And then keep in mind that Markadelphia claims to be a TEACHER.

If he's a teacher, then he's the picture perfect example of why you should never allow your kids within a mile of a public school.

Cry RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM!!!!

DANE has one hell of a post up detailing the Left's current crop of smear merchants and their favorite accusation.  I was going to do a post about it, but he'd beat me to the punch. with his usual diligence and research.  And once you're done reading DANE's post, I suggest you go read Ace's post on the subject as well.  They'll both take you a nonce, but you won't regret it.

Obama sat on actuary report

Just damn.

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama's health care "reform" law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius's staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.

Here we have proof that the President of the United States sat on a report and LIED HIS WORTHLESS, COMMUNIST FUCKING ASS OFF TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Tar and feathers people.  Tar and feathers.

And if you haven't seen it yet

Remember November.  Go forth and watch.

And as for all the barking moonbats howling about how this is redolent of Guy Fawkes and "terrorism", if that day comes, it'll it won't look anything like this video.  Because if it ever gets to the point where the Leftists have pushed the sane half of this country into a shooting war, they're going to make sure it won't happen more than once.  And they're damn sure going to win that war.

If you go to Kellogg, Idaho

You might see signs in a few windows that read "NO EPA".  That's because the EPA, with their rules and more rules and more rules, have shut down the mining in Kellogg, nestled in the Silver Valley, and once home to several thriving mines.

They're gone now, of course.  In fact, the "NO EPA" signs might also be gone, because there aren't enough local natives left to keep up the facade that Kellogg is anything but a tourist-dependant town.  The EPA effectively killed the entire industry base in the Silver Valley.  And they did it without firing a shot.  All those unelected bureaucrats did was make it illegal for the mines to do business, one regulation at a time.

Well guess what, boys and girls!  The EPA is coming to your home sooner than you think!

If your home or commercial property was built before 1978, the EPA will fine you $3,500 for each 'incorrect' sanding, cutting and rehab project. Which means if Joe Homeowner replaces 10 windows in a home incorrectly, he will face a $35,000 fine.
At this point, I am more than willing to pay cash on the barrel so that there's no record of any work being done on my house.  "Work?  Replaced?  No, those windows were like that when I bought the place.  Prove me wrong."  And I'm more than willing to bet that a good portion of America, like the complacent sheep they are, will simply nod their heads and bleat when they're told by their government masters and lords.

Good god, what this country has become makes me sick.

A little Sunday music?

OK, so it's not church music, but it's a good example of why I love Country music.  R&B singers don't have one-tenth of this guy's musical talent and ability.

He could be successful no matter what genre of music he performed.  You want more?  OK.

Perfect music for a Sunday.

It's Sunday

And for at least one day I'm trying to avoid any outrage.  Gotta watch that blood pressure!  So instead, the Ragin' Mrs. and I are going to head down to Cabela's after church, and then once we get back we're going to make sausage.  And eat cheese.  And drink beer.  We're in Wisconsin, dammit!  It's a way of life here!

Oh yeah, baby!

Enjoy your Sunday.

I wasn't a three percenter last year

But I think I am today, because I can't find a single thing wrong with this speech.

Found at TSM.

The Arizona Illegal Immigration Bill

Out-Fucking-Standing.

Do I think it'll stand as it's currently written?  Probably not.  It's a direct slap in the face of the Federal Government, but one that the FedGov has been needing for years now.  I'm certain that the FedGov is going to challenge the law in court, and if they push hard enough they'll probably win that suit.  BUT, in the course of doing so, they are going to expose themselves to the fact that the Federal Government has been criminally negligent in it's duties to protect it's citizens.  And that'll open up a whole host of problems for the FedGov, most of which they would most likely not want exposed.

Arizona for the win!

Next up for AZ?  Replacing Juan McCain, the faux "maverick", unless "maverick" really stands for "person who will stab his voting base in the back so he can get good cred with liberal douchebags in the media."  Because if that's what "maverick" means, then baby he's good!

A must read

Go forth, and consume knowledge.  And remember folks, half the reason people say "I don't have time to cook" is because A) they've been conditioned to think that they don't have that time by the marketers, and B) they're too busy making the money they need to buy the pre-made, fat-loaded, preservative-filled, artery-clogging, heart attack-inducing food/not-food they're eating.

If people actually took a little bit of time, they would be eating better than they ever imagined, and spending less than they think.

Life

Kinda like this right now:

Only without the applause.

But I can't complain too much.  There's boys in Afghanistan who would willingly trade me places.  Which I find rather humorous, since I fought so hard to get to Afghanistan, and there's people in my office trying as hard as they can to get over there.

Is it a case of "The grass is always greener on the other side", or does office and admin work suck just as much as I thought?  Because I'm of the opinion that office work is only slightly less torturous as the fifth circle of hell.

Back

From business.  We're entering my crazy period now, so I might have a few more unexplained absences.

That's life.

extended uninsurance benefits realized

I went into my dentists office today to check on a few things and got to talking with the Office Manager. It turns out that my little dentist office with only 5 employees has seen 10 unemployment rate hikes in the last quarter. These hikes have taken their unemployment payments from a mere $70 to $700 dollars. They have not laid anyone off. They keep their rates low. They are a good office that takes military and children's medicaid. They would love to take more, but then they would lose money on salaries.

This business has done nothing to add to the unemployment crisis and they are being penalized for it.

Imagine the cost for business with more than 5 employees....

Where the hell is Dave?

Dave is travelling.  And Dave is busy as a one-armed paperhanger.  And Dave didn't even have time or computer access to post this weekend.  So you can expect a little bit more from Dave now, but not much.

Just so ya know.
