One Oxygen Thief

Is now at the proper temperature.

Police in Seattle have shot and killed the man suspected of executing four Lakewood, Wash., police officers.

ABC News has confirmed that Maurice Clemmons was killed after police followed leads to a city address where he was hiding. Details of the early-morning confrontation weren't immediately available, but police have said gunfire was exchanged.

It doesn't fix things, but it makes sure this animal can't hurt anyone else.

OHYESPLEASEBETRUE!

PLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEBETRUE!

November 25, 2009: The U.S. Army has finally addressed years of complaints about the M-4 and M-16 assault rifles. The M-4 is a short barrel M-16, and has become very popular with the troops. The army has asked the Department of Defense for permission to spend a few hundred million dollars on upgrades for its 400,000 M-4 assault rifles. The big change is replacing the main portion of the rifle with a new component that contains a short stroke piston gas system (to reduce buildup of carbon inside the rifle) and a heavier (by five ounces) barrel (which reduces barrel failure from too much heat, which happens when several hundred rounds are fired within a few minutes.)

I can only hope and pray this happens. Of course, if the Army actually put a better round in the M-4 I might just die of happiness, but replacing the gas tube with a short stroke piston (which some folks have been suggesting for decades now) will make a huge difference in the reliability of the weapon.

The Swiss Affair

The estimable Mr. Porretto links to the news that the Swiss have banned minarets in Switzerland for the time being. There is the usual international pants-wetting, pissing and moaning, and cries of "INTOLERANCE!"

Yer damn skippy it's intolerant. But that's the whole point, innit? Who wants to be tolerant of a religion that is so damned intolerant of anything that is "other"? At best, Islam simply seals itself off from anything or any other society and refuses to integrate itself. At worst, well, you get people trying to blow up schools, or walking into a Soldier Readiness Center at Ft. Hood and opening fire. And nobody in the political class wants to admit it. Well, almost nobody. The few that open their mouths and speak the truth either end up with a knife pinning a note to their chest, or they're ostracized from the rest of the politicians for daring to be so rude as to not lie like the rest of the politicians.

And with the few exceptions, there's no politician across the world who's willing to step up and flat out say "Look, either that whole 'convert or die' clause has to go, or you do." No, it's cringe and cower and snivel and pissy-pants wimpering, until the simpering little bitches are putting the collars around their own necks because it's the "tolerant" thing to do and they wouldn't want to upset their Islamic masters, because those masters have a bad habit of sawing people's heads off live on the internet.

Well, fuck that noise. And the Swiss just up and said it as well. Fuck. That. Noise. Fuck it sideways, fuck it gently with a chainsaw, just fuck it. And I clapped and said HALLELUJAH! Call me intolerant, and I'll wear that badge proudly. I'm intolerant of a religion that mutilates a woman's genitalia for "purity". I'm intolerant of a religion that would kill a woman who was raped in order to salvage a relative's so-called honor. I'm intolerant of a religion that discusses the best way to kill homosexuals. I'm intolerant of a religion that would force me to convert, force my wife to wear a burlap sack for the rest of her life. I'm intolerant of a religion that would reduce the world to a barbarian, 13th century existance in the name of some moon-god worshiping pedophile.

Hell yes I'm intolerant. That's what happens when a religion says that your family and your country must either convert or be subjugated, enslaved and destroyed. And if you're not intolerant of that, then you need to just lay down and die where you're at, because I don't need you dragging me down with you.

So the Swiss have banned minarets. You want to know why they did it? Because they could see what was coming down the pike. They could see where the political class was going. They could see what was happening all over Europe. They could see that nobody had the balls to stand up and say "This far, and no farther." So they did it themselves, and I say good for them. I truly hope this is the start of a larger movement, because Islam keeps pushing and pushing and pushing until someone pushes back. This wasn't the politicians who did it, it was the Swiss themselves. The Swiss people, who were sick of being lied to about Islam when they could see the truth right in front of their own eyes.

So call them intolerant. Great. It might just be what saves them.

To everyone who emailed me

with words of comfort after I posted about my dog.

Thanks.

The Global Warming Hoax

Is all about the money and the power you can get from scaring people into thinking there's a crisis. In a just world, anyone caught perpetrating this kind of fraud would be hung from a lamp-post.

And it's not like this is news. There have been folks screaming "IT'S A FAKE, PEOPLE!" for years and years. I have two on my blogroll, Mark Alger and Francis Porretto, two people with more integrity individually than all the Global Warming hysteria-mongers have collectively.

Every time someone tells you that "climate change" is happening and that we have to DO SOMETHING, please laugh in their face. Laugh long and hard and loud. Because the only other response to ignorance of that level is a sound thrashing, and that might get you put in jail.

And then I would lose one of my regular readers. And I can't afford that.

I'm laughing my ass off

And the wife is twitching and saying "This is wrong on SO MANY LEVELS!"

But that's that makes it fun, right?

I can still remember the Muppet Show. They don't do shows like that anymore, do they?

Strike out

No deer this year for gun season. The only thing that allows me to keep my hunting sanity is that damn near nobody got a deer. It's been a shitty year all around.

Still.... I'm going out at least one day for muzzle-loader season. We'll see if I can get Bambi's relative then.

Hunting

Going out later today to a local hunting area. Gonna try to get Bambi, or at least one of his relatives. Although I've been spectacularly unsuccessful as of yet, so we'll see what happens.

Thanksgiving went well. I ate so damn much that I could barely move. Life was good.

UPDATE: Skunked. Reports from registration stations say that this area of Wisconsin is down about 30% in numbers of deer harvested. Although I heard quite a few gunshots today, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. Getting up early and heading out while it's still dark, so we can try to get those damn deer as soon as the sun comes up.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know it's a little early, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be online tomorrow. So seeing as how I can't leave you without good tidings, I want each and every one of you to have a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you spend it with friends, or family, or friends AND family, and if you're the praying sort, pray for our folks in uniform who are thousands of miles away from friends or family making sure that we can sit down and eat our turkey in peace.

As I told my chaplain - Go Home, kiss your wife, kiss your kids, and have a great day tomorrow!

S.C. No tax on guns for 48 hours after Thanksgiving

The great state of South Carolina is putting its own sick twist on Black Friday with a tax holiday on firearm purchases.

Memo to the military

Barack the Teleprompter Jesus hates you. Congress hates you. The entire Democrat American Communist Party hates you. They want you to fail. They want America destroyed. So next time, instead of collecting HUMINT, just cap the motherfucker and leave the body for the dogs and the crows.

I mean seriously, the fact that this bullshit is even going to trial is reason enough to impeach every last fucking politician who allows it to happen. The more I think about it, the more I truly believe that we need to just bomb D.C. flat and start over.

Was that harsh? Good. I want it to be harsh. The military goes to war on the orders of Congress and is commanded by the President. Those two bodies also have a huge hand in setting the Rules of Engagement for the military, and have a say in what happens after combat has occurred. If the current crop of criminals didn't set the stage for the terrorists to have their victory after they'd already been defeated, then IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN. Period. Obama and the American Communist Party are looking for the defeat of America, not the defeat of the terrorists of various stripes. As such, they're willing to put three Navy SEALs on trial for giving a terrorist fuckwad a bloody lip, instead of giving them a fucking medal for capturing the terrorist tumblefuck in the first place.

That old graffiti is right - America is not at war. Hell, the Democrats can't be at war, they surrendered years ago. War is impossible when you've already given up. Surrender is all they know, it's what they do, it's who they are. Fucking cowardly pieces of shit, every last one of them. The Democrat Party does not deserve the military that protects them.

Why I don't watch TV

Because when a screeching, annoying nancy-boy bitch is the headliner at the AMAs, TV ain't worth watching.

I mean, c'mon.

Really.

Senator Mary Landrieu is a whore

Oh, she's a very high priced whore, but once you get down to haggling over the price it can't change the person. She's a filthy, greedy, disgusting whore, bought and paid for by Harry Reid, and it's America that's going to get fucked.

She's getting $300 million for her vote, but it's not that brainless fucktard Reid's money that bought her off. It's YOUR money, and it's MY money, and it's the money of every taxpayer in America, and Reid used it to purchase a vote so that he could spend even MORE of our money. We're all fucked. Totally fucked, when the parasites in Congress are using our own money to buy votes for a bill we don't want that will drive us even further into bankruptcy.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if either the House bill or the Senate bill passes, we need to march on Washington D.C. to tar and feather ANY worthless fucking criminal who voted "Aye". Period, end of story. And if the Liberal Lord and Messiah signs his fucking name to the bill, then tar and feather him as well. Ride them all out of town on a rail, and show those elitist fucking worms just what happens when you try to become a master instead of a representative.

I thought I had more time

Saturday, my wife and I cooked a feast for forty people.

Sunday, I left on a TDY mission.

Tuesday, my wife took our good, faithful dog to the vet because she couldn't stop vomiting.

Wednesday, Roxie was put to sleep.

I just got back today. There's so many emotions running around right now that I can't label them all, or even figure out what the hell they are. Roxie had her health issues but both the Ragin' Mrs. and I thought we'd have a few more years with her. She's buried now, underneath a stand of trees at a friend's house. Brave, faithful, loving, protective, joyful....

Pardon me, but I need to go cry like a baby right now.

Obama Tells Troops: You Guys Make a Pretty Good Photo-Op

Barack Hussein Obama... doesn't think we should "rush to judgment" when Hasan the Jihadist shot up Fort Hood... won't wear a flag pin... won't salute America's flag... won't say the pledge... apologizes to our enemies... smears our past heroes... can't be bothered on Memorial Day to skip a round of Golf... throws away the advice of the Military he appoints... throws away the lives of our soldiers on a war he wants to lose.
The president greeted 1,500 troops at Osan Air Base in South Korea today telling them:
“You guys make a pretty good photo op.”
Now you know why American military bases are "gun free zones".

I'm off for yet another week of fun. If I don't have internet access*, then you'll see me in a week.

What is "Country"

I only bring this up because I see that Taylor Swift has won a whole host of CMA awards for her "country" music.

Now don't get me wrong, I think that Taylor Swift has buttloads of talent. But from what I've heard of her last album, she's a bubblegum pop artist that some music director is directing at the country music market.

Hell, I think that Miranda Lambert has more "country" in one song that Taylor Swift has in her entire last album. Want proof? Compare and contrast:

Kerosene - Miranda Lambert

You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift

White Liar - Miranda Lambert

Love Story - Taylor Swift

Gunpowder and Lead - Miranda Lambert

Taylor Swift makes me think of high school cheerleaders at some Prep School on the East Coast, playing in the local talent show. Miranda Lambert makes me think of a concert at a honkey-tonk somewhere in Texas.

So what is "country"? I dunno if I can define it, but I'll take Miranda Lambert over Taylor Swift anyday.

This has been your non political post for the day. And now I'm off, because I'll be busy all friggin day.

Not a fluke... still spitting on the entire country...

Obama's ploy with Afghanistan

Doing “something” in Afghanistan has no possible benefit for either anarchy or Obama. Anything that is “done” – be it sending in more troops or bringing troops out – only increases order and reduces entropy. Decisions, one way or another, direct management solutions. In Afghanistan as it is in America these days increased and directed management of problems decreases chaos and uncertainty. It is not an accident that all of Obama's domestic agenda involves replacing private sector management with government czars and bureaucracies.

If your inner goal is the destruction of established systems of governance you will seek in increase chaos and uncertainty at every turn. This is exactly what we see in Obama’s personal style of what passes for “governance.” We do not have to intuit this. We need only observe and not deny the evidence of our senses.

Veterans of dysfunctional corporations will recognize the Obama style as the one in which upper management is fond of giving middle management “All the responsibility, none of the authority, and zero resources.” It’s a time-tested recipe for failure and demoralization while maintaining an aloof, "concerned," and above the fray posture on the part of the CEO. It is what is being done to the US military, day in and day out, in Afghanistan and, as such, works to Obama’s favor as long as it can be done slowly and without alarm

Cloward-Piven strategy. Obama isn't actually trying to fix anything, folks. And Obama isn't trying to win in Afghanistan. That whole "War that needs to be won" speech that the teleprompter Jesus gave in the election? Lies, just like every other word that comes out of his mouth. Lies, lies, lies and more fucking lies.

Because Obama doesn't give a shit about the military. To Obama, the military is just another political pawn, and if more US Servicemen die under Obama's watch, so much the better. Obama will dip his hands into their blood and use it to sign yet another freedom-destroying piece of legislation, all the while blathering on about dignity and sacrifice, as if he has any idea what those words mean. The more US Servicemembers who die on Obama's watch is more blood that Obama can use for his own political gain.

This is going to be a long, long couple of years for the military, folks. I expect plenty more people to die because of Obama's choices. And I expect that those deaths will be for Obama's political purposes, not for any military decisions. And I expect that Obama will celebrate them, because that will give him MORE deaths to use in his political war.

The Commander in Chief can't stand the military he commands. And if they die, he's satisfied.

I would love to have someone prove me wrong. But I don't think that anyone can.

Random Thoughts

on custom guns. Phil links to a few folks who know a thing or two about custom guns. Phil has done work on his own guns as well.

As for me? Meh.

Look, I can appreciate a custom gun, trust me on that. But a lot of the desire to build a custom gun is the desire to say "Lookie at what I made!" And I can completely understand that, because I do that with leather and various other things. I think I bored fifty people to death showing off the holster I made for my 1911. "Look! I made it all by myself!"

Special needs also create custom guns. You go to Boomershoot, and I'm willing to bet that most the guns there are either custom or have had a substantial amount of work done on them by their owners. And if you're trying to tag a target at 1000+ meters, you pretty much need a custom gun.

Me? All I want to do is take down deer at 100 yards. And given the woods here in Wisconsin, I'll be doing it at LESS than 100 yards, just because the trees are too thick for you to have a long shot at a deer. I don't need a custom gun for that. Hell, since my Mosin is acting shitty, I'll be doing all my hunting with my muzzle loader, and a .50 cal lead roundball should be perfectly up to the task.

I can appreciate a custom gun. I just don't think I'll be owning one.

Calmer today

It's amazing how much better my mood is when I go for a run in the morning.

Although I still think that beating the ever-living fuck out of a certain person in Missouri would help sooth my nerves.

No, that's not a political rant. In fact, that's a personal note that has nothing to do with anything else than my job.

*&$%#@!

Took a co-worker shooting today. He wasn't fond of the Mosin-Nagant, so I showed him the operation of the muzzle loader, made sure he understood the rules, watched him for a while, and let him have fun. He was enjoying it quite a bit, until he shot the damn ramrod at the target.

Yeah. I heard him fire and it sounded a bit off, but he seemed OK and the gun looked fine. He complained that it had kicked hard. I thought he'd just put more powder in than he had intended. But when I went to fire the gun, the ramrod was missing. After searching for it, we saw the slash in the target board where the ramrod had gone through. Once the range went cold we walked down, and damned if you couldn't see exactly where it had gone, down to the rings on the jag. It was almost cartoonish; the outline of the ramrod in the board.

So the question I have now is this - just how much damage did my gun take from that? I cleaned and inspected the barrel, and it looks fine. The breech plug is fine. But I know that there could be damage that I can't see. What normally happens when you shoot the ramrod out?

Oh, and don't even get my started on the Mosin-Nagant. I couldn't hit the fucking broadside of a barn from the inside. I started out the day with two-inch groups, and by the end of the day I couldn't group at all. I'm not just frustrated, I'm infuriated. I'm about to take that worthless fucking gun and turn it into kindling.

So, I have a muzzle-loader that might be damaged, and I have a rifle that I can't hit anything with. I won't be able to hit the range anytime soon, today was the last chance. Which means I might not get to go hunting. Fuck. Just fuck. Fuck me gently with a chainsaw fuck fuck FUCK DAMMIT FUCK!

And this is just one fucking thing that makes me want to take a fucking axe to the smiling faces of the drones who walk around asking me how my day went. You don't want to know how my fucking day went. I don't even want to know how my worthless fucking wasted day went, I just want to drink myself into a stupor and go to sleep and pretend that this fucking day never happened, but I can't even fucking do that. Fuck. I want to destroy my fucking Mosin, but I'm holding off in the faint hope that there might be some chance of rescuing the gun into something that might resemble an actual functioning half accurate firearm. I'm hoping and praying that my muzzle-loader didn't just fucking die because my co-worker forgot to take the fucking ramrod out. But until I can confirm it, I have a grand total of FUCKING ZERO deer killing firearms. So I might as well just wipe my fucking ass with my hunting permit.

Fuck.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

Veteran's Day

Thank a vet, if you know one.

And if you don't know one, go find one. It's not like VA hospitals are in short supply. I'm off to the range to blow holes in paper at long distance. It just seems fitting.

Happy Birthday to the US Marine Corps

As much as I rag on my fellow service members who picked the wrong branch, when it call comes down to it it's the "U.S." on the nametape that counts, not what immediately follows it.

Quick blog post of the day

I came back in from my run, grabbed a cup of coffee, and was about to fire up the computer for some blogging when I noticed a "puddle" in the kitchen.

Turned out the dog had vomited all over the kitchen floor. So instead of blogging, I cleaned that up. No bloggus for you today!

Oh, OK, one quick thing - political correctness is alive and well in the military. Maybe if we'd actually done some looking at that jihadist fuckwit Hasan he would have been booted out long before he went on a killing spree. But no, someone didn't want to upset the applecart. Don't rock the boat! That wouldn't be nice!

This is how civilization dies, folks. Be being unwilling to confront the threats from both within and without.

Obama Doesn't "Get" the Military He Commands

I give you Villainous Company...

Life is full of mysteries, but chief among them in this Marine wife's mind at the moment is, "Just how stupid does this White House think we are?" If the events of the past few months have shown us anything, it's that Barack Obama has little enthusiasm for - or interest in - one of the most important duties of an American President: his role as Commander in Chief of the nation's armed forces.
...
Obama started his first term by becoming the first president in 56 years to snub the Salute to Heroes ball honoring Medal of Honor recipients.
...
...where was our Commander in Chief when his top commander in Afghanistan was being viciously attacked? Did he step in and defend his subordinate for doing the job he was ordered to do? Of course he didn't. Harry Truman was obviously no community organizer: the brouhaha over McChrystal ensured that the buck wouldn't stop in the Oval Office this time. The McChrystal leak was followed by the revelation that our stalwart Commander in Chief had only met with his top commander in Afghanistan once. Stung by the implication that his "war of necessity" was very much on the back burner, Obama scrambled to find a mere 20 minutes to spare as he idled on a runway in northern Europe. He spent more time than that conducting a beer summit.
...
Tell me something: in a moment of national tragedy is it really too much to expect the President of the United States to forego the "shout outs"?

Anybody notice Barack Hussein Obama quickly said we shouldn't judge Hasan and then just as quickly used the tragedy to push Healthcare?

Meanwhile Mr. & Mrs. 'W' dropped by the hospital in Ft. Hood to comfort the wounded.

In comments

Both at Rivrdog's and Og's is a discussion started by one Roberta X about the role religion played in the Ft. Hood shootings. What prompted this particular post is her reply to my comment at Rivrdog's, wherein she states:

Judge people by their actions (and not by the crazy stuff written in their holy book, which you can find in any religion's writings) or go stand over there with the Nazis and the Commies. It's all the same to me, because I look on you -- and my baby brother and cops, cabdrivers and co-eds -- with as much suspicion as I do Muslims.

She then goes on to accuse both myself and Rivrdog of "painting with a very broad brush".

Wow. Look at that sentance she wrote. And she thinks that I paint with a very broad brush? Yeah.

Look, I'm not a Roberta hater, so don't think that I'm getting all pissy with her. But on this subject, she's wrong. And trying to claim that all religions have weird stuff written in their holy book is intellectually dishonest. "Weird", maybe. Calling for the adherents of a religion to either convert or kill the infidels? Well, that pretty much narrows it down to one - Islam.

Does this mean that all Muslims are going to go on a shooting rampage? No. But it does mean that they have a predication for violence against non-believers. And the more power they get, the more violent they get. Ask Geert Wilders, or Theo van Gogh. Ask Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Ah, wait, you can't ask Theo van Gogh, he was stabbed to death by a Muslim for daring to make a movie about Islam. I guess that's another little "weird" thing written in a holy book, right?

Not all religions are the same. Not all religions call for their believers to kill non-believers. In fact, as far as I know only one religion does so: Islam. Islam might not be the reason for people going nuts, but it sure enourages it and nurtures it, grows it, and then lets it loose. To quote Og:

So, Ms Rx, it is unfair to paint Muslims with a broad brush that says ‘Terrorist”. But to paint them wiht a brush that says” potential dangerous kook that should be watched carefully” yes, that’s just fine by me. And it’s mathematically true that if you JUST painted muslims with that brush, you’d have made a pretty safe bet.
And I'm off for the day. Y'all have fun.

Why the BCS sucks

Besides the fact that all the computer scores in the world can't make up for the fact that the coaches poll is completely and totally crap.

Besides the fact that the people who vote in the AP poll can't even be bothered to watch the teams they're voting on (Last year's Utah team, anyone? Undefeated? Whipped Alabama's ass in their non-BCS bowl game? Couldn't get a BCS bid to save their life?)

The big excuse given by the BSC backers to teams like Boise State and Utah is "Well, play the big boys and we'll talk". My response back is "Why don't you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself?" because the big boys are pissing their pants about playing Boise State.

Boise State is a damn good team. They've been damn good for YEARS. Go here and check out their past schedules. You have to go back to 2005 to find a year with THREE losses, and two of those were to ranked opponents. But they can't get a BCS bid. And now Boise State is actually telling the big boys "Hey, let us play you, we'll come to your stadium, and you don't have to return the favor by coming to Idaho. We just want to play you. C'mon! Let's play!"

And the big boys are in the corner, pissing and whining and moaning. Their one excuse, "Well, let them play OUR schedule!" just took a hit, because Boise State is willing to do just that - they're not hiding. Who's hiding? All the big colleges who only want to play a cream-puff non conference schedule. I'll take USC over Texas or Florida for the BCS championship, because USC goes out and plays the big boys. USC doesn't cower in the corner, whining and pissing all over itself during the non-conference games. You know who USC has played outside it's conference so far? San Jose State, Ohio State (who was ranked #8 at the time) and Notre Dame (who was ranked 25th at the time). Three non-conference games, and two of those were ranked opponents.

What about Florida? Hmmmmm... Troy? Charleston Southern? FIU?

What about Texas? Hmmmmm..... Louisiana-Monroe? Wyoming? UCF?

Boise State wants to play ranked teams. They want to prove themselves. USC does as well. Hell, I'll even take Ohio State over Florida and Texas, because Ohio State manned up and played USC rather than take another cupcake matchup.

Some teams want to play. Some teams want to hide inside their conference. And you know what? The BCS rewards the teams that hide. The BCS rewards the pissy-pants bitches. That's just another example of why the BCS is a horrible idea and should be scrapped.

Gah. I'm off to buy some ammo.

Hey Gibbs

Yeah you, Gibbs, the Presidential mouthpiece. You wanna whine about some LaRouchie waving an Obama-as-Hiter sign?

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Fuck you, Gibbs.

Oh, and Gibbsie? Go fuck yourself, you stupid fat sack of shit.

And for every Media whore in the audience who didn't call Gibbs on that bullshit, I hope you all get your shrunken, useless testicles taken off with a belt sander. The media in this country is so dishonest that they can't even call out the Messianic Mouthpiece on what has got to be one of the flat out dumbest remarks he's ever made. What a fucking joke. The entire MSM can go drive a bus off a cliff for all I care; all it would do is improve the collective IQ of this country. I really can't see any downside to that.

SHEESH: Why did I even bother finding all those pictures when other folks have done it as well? Actually, I know why: So I could tell the Messianic Mouthpiece to go fuck off a few more times. What a fucking stupid, worthless, hand-up-his-ass-puppetry joke. I don't just want him shamed, I want him hammered into the ground for even daring to be that fucking dumb.

Slip of agenda

I don't think anyone can truly be surprised by this

So....

By now you've heard about the shooting at Ft. Hood. Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan has killed 12 people and wounded 31. Hot Air has a good post with plenty of updates, and if you scroll down slowly you'll see how the story first formed and where it went from there.

I'm trying to remain apolitical on this, and I'm failing miserably. I have a co-worker who's flat out telling me that he will refuse to work with any Muslims, period. And you know what? I can't blame him. I can't find one single reason to tell him differently. A Muslim kills 12 of my fellow Soldiers in his own little personal jihad, and I'm supposed to stay calm?

Hey, remember the shooting of an Army Recruiter in Arkansas? The guy who did it? Muslim.

Was that a cheap shot? Maybe. But not as cheap a shot as tossing a grenade into a tent. Because you don't want to kill your fellow muslims, so you kill your fellow Soldiers.

Now, is religion the only reason Soldiers freak out and kill their fellow Soldiers? Nope. But the one common theme of muslim Soldiers who do so is that they put their religion before their country. In fact, the question in people's minds when they hear about a shooting such as this is "Is the gunman a Muslim?" And given how many plots have been uncovered regarding muslims wanting to kill Americans, they are right to ask that question. It's a valid question. When dealing with a religion that separates the world into the House of Islam and the House of War, and anyone not Muslim goes to the latter to be attacked, subjugated and conquered, then yeah I think it's a valid question. Catholic Doctrine says to spread the word of Christ through word and examples. I can't find any Catholic Doctrine that says "Put Unbelievers to the sword". It ain't there.

Protestant? Ditto. I can't find anything in Martin Luther's thesis that says to kill anyone who doesn't submit to that religion.

I've heard of a Four-Point Calvinist and a Five-Point Calvinist, but I've never heard of a Calvinist who declares that anyone not a Calvinist is the enemy.

However, I can find the passage in the Koran that claims all muslims must kill the unbelievers.

Right now I'm a little busy working through the details in my head. But I have to go to work today, and quite possibly "support" or allow a religion than wants to see me dead. And yeah, I have some issues with that.

Back home

Got back in yesterday. Celebrated homecoming with wife. Went out and bought a ladder. Cleaned out the gutters. Came in and had dinner. Got a call from co-worker (more on that later). Celebrated homecoming with wife again. Went to sleep.

Trip successful. Glad to be home.

No Web Access

I'll be on limited web access for the next few days. If I can post, I will. If I can't, well, try not to dirty up the joint any more than it already is before I get back, eh?

I'm not a Packer's fan

I'm a Seahawks fan, and have been for decades. But I'm also just a football fan, and for what Brett Favre did to the Packers......

I hope he spends his day flat on his ass at Lambeau Field.

I got nuthing today

I'm tired as hell. I'm going over to a friend's house to help him build a covered lean-to on the side of his garage. Politics have gotten me to the point where all I want to do is stockpile ammunition and tell D.C. to go fuck off.

So......

Yeah. That's about how I feel right now.

Blah. I'm off to go build shit.

I wish I was surprised

But I'm not. Not at all.

Ladies and Gents, I've said to too many times, but I'll say it again. The Democrat American Communist Party, by and large, hates the military. Can't stand it. They think we're just a bunch of deluded fools, brainwashed by "The Man".

Combine that with the fact that most Donks don't understand why America should be defended. Indeed, most Democrats do NOT defend America at all, much less any of America's interests outside of our borders. Remember, to Leftists like Obama, America is the problem and not the solution.

So when Obama dithers, and waffles, and votes "Present" just like he did during his entire short Senate career, you cannot be surprised. He did it for years, and it got him elected to the Presidency. Do you honestly now think that he's going to change his ways? Who cares if a few more Myrmidons die in Afghanistan? According to Obama, we're out there air-raiding villages and killing children. For Obama, a few more dead Soldiers is not really a "Bad Thing". He never gave a rats ass about us anyways. The one and only thing Obama gives a shit about is making sure his political career can go on unblemished. That's why he keeps blaming Bush for his fuck-ups. And you know what? As long as people let him keep blaming Bush, Obama will continue to let his fuck-ups and his inaction get Soldier's killed.

It's not about the actions, it's about who he can blame.

You know, I'm really, really wondering if I want to defend a country that would elect this piece of shit.

Me? Paranoid?

Read this and tell me what you think.

As part of the next arms reduction treaty between superpowers, the United States has tentatively agreed to unprecedented Russian access to American nuclear missile sites. According to published accounts, Russian weapons inspectors will be given an open door to American nuclear sites in order to monitor the number of missiles and warheads. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is quite satisfied with the deal. Perhaps it is an error of omission, but there is no news of a similar concession from the Russian side. This is psychologically and strategically significant: first, because it presents us with a President and a Secretary of State who are mistaken in their assessment of Kremlin trustworthiness; second, because it shows weakness in the President; third, because the Russians are demonstrating a kind of superiority.

The leaders of the United States are unlike any previous leaders we’ve seen at the helm of a major power. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently made an extraordinary statement: “We want to ensure that every question that the Russian military or Russian government asks is answered.” And she means it. If a Russian foreign minister made a similar statement, one might expect to glimpse his colleagues suppressing giggles in the background. The America side makes such statements without the least cynicism, irony or humor. The U.S. Secretary of State is putting the concerns of her Russian colleagues first. She is not putting the concerns of the American people first. This is at the core of the process. The strategic interest of the United States holds no place in the President's policy. Some greater good – or alleged greater good – is being promoted. You may call this greater good by the name of "world peace."

It's crap like this that makes me stock up on ammunition for the coming civil war. Ladies and Gentlement, we now have political leadership who are unwilling to defend this country. Let that sink in for a while. We have the greatest military in the world. Our economy is what drives the global economy. We have unprecedented influence on every country in the world, and our political leadership WILL NOT DEFEND US ON THE WORLD STAGE. Our political leadership is giving our enemies the keys to our destruction. Our political leadership is putting the barrel of a shotgun into our mouths and putting our enemies fingers on the fucking trigger!

At some point, this self-destructive behavior will simply lead to one part of this country telling the other part to go fuck itself. And that's when the shooting starts. So yeah, I'm stockpiling ammo, because the elected leadership in this country can't even represent this country, and that shows a problem too big to be ignored.

Random Thoughts

I was clicking through this website looking at their "curiosities" section, when I realized that I didn't really recognize most of the celebrities they had pictures of. I know who Lindsey Lohan is, just because I've been forced to watch the trainwreck that is her life at every checkout counter at every supermarket in existance. But Sophie Monk? Audrina Partridge? No clue.

And then I realized, that's not exactly something to be ashamed of. Hell, I'm rather proud of that fact.

A "Senior GOP Strategist"

Can kiss my ass.

“A senior GOP strategist, granted anonymity in order to speak candidly, lamented that in endorsing Hoffman, the contenders had delivered to the White House an early victory in their efforts to brand the Republican Party as dominated by its conservative wing.

“‘The Obama White House has made a lot of mistakes, but they’ve certainly gotten the Republican Party’s number,’ said the strategist.

“The rush to back Hoffman, this strategist said, is ‘proof that the Obama political strategy is working.’”

Dear Lord, is this joker serious? Is this brain-dead fuckwit SERIOUS? If the GOP is afraid to be called CONSERVATIVE then hang it up. Just hang it up and get it over with. Right now I wouldn't cry if the every "Senior GOP Strategist" suck-started a shotgun, because they've taken what used to be the most powerful political movement in the country and DESTROYED IT!

Crap like THIS is why the GOP is a dying party. Endorsing a candidate MORE LIBERAL THAN THE DEMOCRAT, in a solidly Republican district, shows just how brain-dead and empty the Stupid Party really is! For the love of Pete, if the GOP had run a moderately conservative candidate in that district this would be a non-issue! But Scozzafava is a liberal. A died in the wool liberal, more liberal than the Democrat in the race, and the GOP is actively pushing her as a viable Republican Candidate. Give me a break!

If you can't stand on your principals, then you're nothing more than a suit filled with hot air and bullshit. In short, you're nothing more than a Democrat. Which is what the Republian Stupid Party has turned into. Just another Democrat party. The party of "Me Too". The Party that can't even explain their principals. The party that cannot defend democracy, or the free market, or limited government. The party that just goes along like a fucking herd of sheep. The party that has handed their opponents victory after victory because they won't defend themselves. The party that has lost big in two consecutive elections, and will probably lose big in the next because they cannot and will not stand up for what their voting base actually believes in.

So fuck the GOP. Let the GOP die the death it deserves, unless it can wake the hell up and get back to what made it a strong, powerful movement to begin with:

How about: Individual liberty. Respect for the Constitution as it was written. Smaller, less expensive, less intrusive government. Strong national defense. Patriotism. Self reliance. The American Dream that you can build a good life, and your children will build a better one.

Not many words there - but most Americans will easily understand them, and if you asked them to choose between those notions, and the beliefs of the left, similarly condensed, I believe the vast majority would vote for the conservative vision.

What does the left stand for? What is its vision?

This: Collective cooperation. A “living” Constitution that changes to fit whatever the left wants to mean. Larger, more expensive, more intrusive government that always knows better than its citizens. Shame for your country. Reliance on the state. The notion that we consume too much, and that we much accept a future in which our children have a worse life than we do, for the good of all.

I ask you: How can that compete with our own ideals and vision?

As usual, read the whole thing. If the GOP doesn't want to be conservative, then kick them to the curb, and kick those stupid fucking retards HARD. There's already a liberal party in this country, we don't need two of them. Let the GOP pull an Arlen Specter and finally admit they're nothing but a bunch of liberal, nanny-statist, corrupt spineless douchbags. And let them die.

This is gonna hurt

And it's gonna hurt a lot.

While campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obama said his cap-and-trade tax plans would "bankrupt" anyone building a coal-fired power plant. Although those taxes haven't materialized, the Environmental Protection Agency has put the brakes on 79 surface mining permits in four states since he was elected.

The EPA says these permits could violate the Clean Water Act and warrant "enhanced" review. But the agency went even further last week, announcing plans to revoke a permit for the Spruce No. 1 Mine in West Virginia - a move that has caused anxiety among coal-state Democrats about the future of the industry under the Obama administration.

Of course, we KNEW what was going to happen once Teleprompter Jesus got elected, he friggin TOLD us what he was going to do. So now we're reaping the rewards. Ladies and Gentlemen, over half the electricity in this country is produced at coal fired plants. About 57% or so, to be exact. What happens when the cost of coal goes up because of these permits getting rejected?

I can remember being stationed at Ft. Riley back in the 90's, and having my electric bill damn near match my rent because the Kansas Power Company was a coal-burning plant. Even now, the Ragin' Mrs. and I do whatever we can to keep our power consumption down, and believe me when I say we don't exactly have much to cut back on. What happens when people are paying an extra $100 to $200 per month for their electricity? What do you think is going to happen to the economy when that money is removed from the local economy due to the high cost of power?

They'll collapse, that's what. And right now there's nothing we can do about it, thanks to the god-like powers the Democrat American Communist Party has given the EPA.

Like I said, this is gonna hurt.

Project Valour-IT

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's once again time to open your hearts and wallets for Soldier's Angels Project Valour-IT.

You'll notice I have a link to Soldier's Angels in the upper right hand corner of the blog. I have the link to Project Valour IT in the right hand sidebar. This is one of the few charities in life that you can look at, inspect, and be damned sure that your money is going to where they say it is. And there's no worthier cause.

Oh... and remember to donate for the ARMY TEAM! GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY! HOOAH!

Ciao, Bella!

There's nothing quite like a hot Italian lady dressed in black!

WHOOPS! Right country, wrong lady! Ah, here's the one:

Meet Diana. She's a Benelli Nova in 12 gauge, all black, and all mine.

Now I know there are going to be some people who said "Dave, we said REMINGTON, not BENELLI!" Yes, you did say Remington, but let me tell you about my little trip to the gun shop. As I was perusing the shotguns and chatting with the salesman, we got down to the brass tacks of what I wanted. I wanted to be able to hunt ducks, geese, turkey, various other waterfowl, and anyone stupid enough to come into my house uninvited. I was not going to be hunting deer with it. And of course, I was looking for as low a price as possible so I could afford all the various accoutrements that go along with a gun; a hard gun case, plenty of ammo to train with, cleaning supplies, et cetera. And the salesman looks at me, says "I've got your gun. Hold on." and then disappears into the back. He comes back holding this gun. The only time it's been fired is when the gunsmith tested it. It's brand freakin' new, so new it practically SQUEAKS when I hold it. Some guy won it in a raffle and decided that he didn't want it, so he sold it to the gun shop. Since they bought it from a person rather than from the manufacturer, they have to consider it a used gun.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I walked out of that shop with the brand new Benelli shotgun, ammo, case, snap caps and a few other things for under $350.

So yes, you did tell me to get a Remington. But Diana, she seduced me with her sweet whisperings into my ears (and wallet). Maybe it's the Italian blood in me.

And so now I'm ready to go target shooting. Practice, practice, practice, and then go hunting. Ah, sweet duck on my plate! I can taste it already........ And if you're wondering about the name, yes, it's THIS Diana. Not that other Diana.

Now, just wait a minute!

I object to calling this guy a ferret-faced freak!

1. Ferrets are cute. This guy? Not so much. In fact, I don't know if it's the angle of the photo or if this guy is naturally that unfortunate, but it looks like he fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

2. Ferrets, being part of the weasel family, hunt, kill, and eat rodents. Rodents much like the worthless rat-bastard in that article.

3. Ferrets are happy, playful critters. When they get going, they practically radiate joy. From the look on that guy's face, he hasn't played since about 1980 or so.

4. Ferrets are highly intelligent. Take a look at the guy in that picture. He's either so stoned he can't remember his name, or he's got an IQ you can roll on a pair of dice.

So he can't be "ferret-faced". Let's go with "rat-faced freak" instead. It fits much better.

Justice?

At first glance, I don't know what to make about this story:

A troubled young woman whom the Rev. Al Sharpton championed as a victim of a horrific, racially motivated sexual assault now says she fabricated the incident -- despite the fact that all of her alleged attackers pleaded guilty and are serving jail time.

Megan Williams, who is black, wasn't kidnapped and tortured in a West Virginia trailer at the hands of white attackers -- but lied because she wanted to get back at a boyfriend who'd beaten her, her lawyer, Byron Potts, said.

And then there's this:

All seven of the accused attackers pleaded guilty to variety of charges, and six received lengthy prison sentences. Williams, who is developmentally challenged, said she was pressured by her adopted mother to make the false allegation and the two had collected $70,000 in donations, including $1,000 from Sharpton.

To a "variety" of charges? So I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that they weren't a bunch of choirboys. Gah. The thought that ran through my head as I read this story is "Well, if this doesn't describe just how fucked up people can get, I don't know what does."

I need more coffee.

Let's combine yesterday's posts

Since Newt Gingrich was supporting the wrong candidate in the NY 23 district elections, and Sarah Palin was getting attacked, here's a link to the Ace of Spades HQ post where Sarah Palin is supporting Doug Hoffman, the conservative in the NY 23 race.

And Obama tried to ban Fox News from interviewing the "Pay Czar".

There. Yesterday's three posts in one.

By the way - this Pay Czar, who unilaterally made the decision to cut the pay of the top executives of companies to took bail-out money. I think he's on to something. No, really, I do. You see, if the pay is being cut because the companies are miserable failures, and miserable failures don't deserve all that taxpayer money, then it sets the stage. I say go for it. I say slash the paychecks of every congresscritter and politician in Washington D.C., since they've proven that they're nothing but miserable failures. From Obama to the newest Senator, slash that paycheck.

The Continuing Attack on Sarah Palin

Are you frickin' serious?

Again, if you want to know who the left fears, look for who they attack. Sarah Palin scares the shit out of them on a level that the established GOP cannot and will not. Because Sarah Palin exposes all their liberal feminist platitudes as the lies that they are.

Hell, I'd vote for her just to watch all the commie heads exploding. Really. It would be worth it. I'd hear heads popping at MSNBC from my living room.

Newt is Wrong

And this is a problem that the RNC needs to fix, and needs to fix now. The RNC keeps pushing the candidates that it wants to push, but NOT the candidates that Republicans want to vote for. Newt, you can say that you know you're right, but the last two elections proves you wrong. Otherwise, the RNC would be winning elections instead of going the way of the Whig party.

And you know what? If you're so inept that you can't get your voting base to... you know... VOTE for you, you deserve to fade away into the dustbin of history.

The Obama Media Complex

Just.... wow. Really, wow. Why doesn't MSNBC just put Obama's logo where the MSNBC used to go? The Teleprompter Jesus already meets with MSNBC people to put out his orders personally. MSNBC now officially gets it's talking points straight from the White House. Journalistic integrity? What's that? I never want to hear the words "journalistic integrity" uttered in conjunction with ANYONE from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC or CNN ever again.

I'm with Breitbart - we're at war with the Main Stream Media. Only they've been at war with us for quite some time, and we're now just getting around to launching our own salvos.

Count me in

Rodger the Real King of France mentions yet more ACORN voter fraud in upstate New York, and suggests that the penalty for voter fraud should be hanging.

Fuck it. I'll agree with him.

I've mentioned this before - We agree to live under the law as a substitute for violence. Part of our laws say that you cannot commit voter fraud. By committing voter fraud you are literally stealing the votes that guide this country. ACORN has been committing voter fraud all over this country, helping their Democrat American Communist Party masters get elected so they can get a bigger piece of the pie. So far, I have yet to see one ACORN punk go to jail for this fraud. The higher-ups are being protected. Although both the House and Senate voted to defund ACORN i have yet to see it happen.

If the rule of law is not upheld, we the people reserve the right to return to our original agreement - hanging the criminal bastards. They obviously don't fear the law. Let them fear us.

Let's see...... how can I get comments?

Oh yeah! I know! Toss out a gun scenario!

I have $500 in my pocket. I need a shotgun that's as multi-purpose as possible.

I need to be able to hunt with it.
I need to be able to use it for home defense.
It needs to be usable by my wife, with her bad back.

It can be any kind of action EXCEPT for semi-auto, just because I'm old fashioned.

Discuss.

Kick that door

And kick it hard. Kick that bastard right the fuck off it's hinges.

House Republicans have complained all year that Democrats have locked them out of the legislative process.

On Tuesday, those complaints took a turn from figurative to literal.

A spokesman for House Oversight and Government Reform ranking member Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Democrats changed the lock on the door from the GOP’s meeting room to the main committee chamber, and informed Republicans that Democrats would retain the only set of keys.

Republicans say the move was retaliation for a behind-the-scenes video they shot that showed committee Democrats leaving their meeting room through a back door 30 minutes after they canceled a hearing that the majority said conflicted with Members’ schedules.

Before that hearing was terminated early, Issa was scheduled to call for a vote on whether the committee should issue a subpoena for records and documents relating to the Countrywide Financial VIP mortgage program. Democratic Sens. Chris Dodd (Conn.) and Kent Conrad (N.D.) obtained mortgages from the program, prompting Issa and other Republicans to question whether Dodd and Conrad obtained below-market rates because of their positions. However, the Senate Ethics Committee cleared both lawmakers in the matter.

If this is the kind of legislative ethics that we can expect from Congress, then we just need to wipe the slate clean and start over. We need to fire every last fucking Democrat in Congress for being a bunch of corrupt, greedy, power-hungry statists, and we need to fire every last Republican for being a) just as greedy and corrupt as the Democrats, or B) a bunch of fucking spineless pussies who have let the Democrats walk all over them for the past decade and a half.

Just fire them all. Get rid of them all. Break out the tar and feathers, and ride each of those scum sucking parasites out of town on a rail.

h/t to Bruce.

Sacrificial victims?

Mr. Porretto at Eternity Road has a screed about the state of "journalism" today that I think folks should read. I don't know if I agree with it per se, but it still must be read. I'm not going to give anything away. All I will comment on is that the two groups that he talks about, the victims and the victimizers, are in my mind one and the same. It's one group, victimizing itself.

And right on cue,

As the Obama administration continues it's attack on the one news network that has not turned into slavish propaganda mouthpieces, the propaganda mouthpieces get their marching orders as well. This time it's CNN attacking Rush Limbaugh by asking a psychiatrist why people listen to Rush. No, that's not a joke.

Maybe CNN needs to figure out why Fox News is beating them like a drum at every time slot.

Fox news, according to the administration

"It’s really not news — it’s pushing a point of view. And the bigger thing is that other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way, and we’re not going to treat them that way. We’re going to appear on their shows. We’re going to participate but understanding that they represent a point of view.”

I find this completely laughable. You can read more about it here. I know Fox is on the administrations hit list. They are just looking for a way to dispose of Fox. But this is why I have chosen this as a Quote of the Day.

I think Hot Air covers this quite well.

New Stimlus is not off the table

Well, well, well, maybe Pelosi wasn't wrong after all.

President Barack Obama is considering all options to create jobs, including another stimulus package, while trying to pull the economy out of a deep recession and deal with a record deficit, White House advisers said Sunday.

With more than half of the $787 billion recovery package yet to be spent, Obama aides said the administration is not ready to commit to additional measures.

To me this translates to they are trying to figure out how to convince Congress and Senate that it is in their best interest to vote to triple the deficit, again during this term. There is no golden egg in this administration, except for the money that Obama wants to spend that all our our heirs are going to be paying for centuries!

I have a solution, deregulate, detax, de-run-away-spend. It does not take rocket science, but from the way this is going...

Water is Wet-Healthcare edition

There seems to be a lot about the "Health Care Reform" in the news today.

US News Weekly notes that President Obama "has said repeatedly that 'if you like your healthcare coverage, you can keep it,'" and Republicans, "of course, have scoffed at that claim," but "many Democrats are now starting to doubt it, too." The Democrats' "concern involves a key provision in the newly passed Senate Finance Committee healthcare bill" -- a "new tax that insurers will have to pay on their most expensive healthcare plans" or "Cadillac" plans. Because of "the tax, experts say, insurance companies could hike rates across the board, hurting people who aren't super-rich, including middle-class Americans who have more generous health plans, such as union workers, older working Americans, and people with dangerous jobs."

Isn't this kind of like the dog biting the man who feed it.

And here is my laugh for the day...

"the White House will not commit to health care legislation that would cap insurance premiums or tax benefits, taking a wait-and-see approach as congressional negotiators seek a deal." For example, "President Barack Obama will not demand that a final bill include a government-run plan as a way of driving down costs through competition, though that's his preference."
Right, between Obama, his advisers, Pelosi, and Reid they may appear to make concessions, but you can bet your sweet bippie that they have back door dealings to force what they want down our throats. Anyone who trusts what comes out of these mouths needs to have a serious reality check. Watching this circus of an administration, the two things I have learned are; if they say they want something, they will do what ever is necessary to accomplish it, and if they are making concessions and saying they will not do something, it doesn't mean a thing, because they are probably doing it anyway.

"not how much troops you have, but whether in fact there's an Afghan partner."

From the article that I read, basically the White House is saying the election in Afghanistan was fraudulent and therefore does not want to send any more troop until they are legitimate.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said on CNN that President Barack Obama wouldn't make a decision on his military commanders' request for as many as 80,000 additional American troops in Afghanistan until the administration is convinced that the country has a credible central government.

"There's not a security force, an army, the type of services that are important for the Afghans to become true partners," Emanuel said. "It would be reckless to make a decision on U.S. troop level if, in fact, you haven't done a thorough analysis of whether, in fact, there's an Afghan partner ready to fill that space that the U.S. troops would create and become a true partner in governing."

To me this sounds like the administration wants to do to Afghanistan what they did to the car companies and banks. Is our administration doing a hostile takeover of a foreign country?

Quote of the Day

And damned accurate from Mr. Porretto, under "Sparking the Creativity Gap":
You have to whack 'em across the snout a few times -- a rolled-up magazine is adequate; a tire iron is declasse -- before they get the message, but if you refuse to do that, you're not working; you're just a butt boy for self-absorbed idiots who think meetings, schedules, cleverly formatted spreadsheets and animated PowerPoint presentations are the supreme achievements of Mankind, whereas actually making stuff is for the hoi polloi.
If that doesn't explain a good half of ANY military command, I don't know what does. Seriously - you've got half the command actually DOING things, and the other half wanting to hold a meeting.

I've had meetings to get ready for a meeting. I shit you not.

Snerk

The New York Times, distorting the truth for over a century.

Worthless, feckless bastards.

Oh hell no

This crap doesn't fly.

A key House committee on Thursday quietly altered its health care legislation in a way that could allow the Senate to mow over Republican opposition to Democratic reforms by exploiting a budgetary loophole.

The Ways and Means Committee adjusted its health care overhaul package so that the Senate, down the road, could avoid a filibuster and pass health care reform with a smaller number of votes than normally required.

The long-discussed process, nicknamed the "nuclear option," is known as reconciliation. It's coming into potential play after the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday became the last of five committees to approve health care reform legislation, sending the overhaul proposals a big step closer to the president's desk. Before it gets there, though, the bill has to pass from the committees to the floors of the House and Senate.
I have a nuclear option as well. It involves cutting off the diseased parts of this country like gangrene and allowing the sane states to continue their lives unimpeded. I wonder of the corrupt pieces of shit in Congress who are trying to take over our economy like my nuclear option as much as I like theirs?

Call your congresscritter. Let them know in no uncertain terms that if this pile of crap gets forced on the country, they won't have a country left.

Michelle Malkin also has info.

Democrats represent the rich?

Did they get rich off of the government contracts?
The Democratic-controlled House is now an unusual combination of the richest and poorest districts, the best and least educated, and the best and the worst insured.
Ah, well then - it's the slaves and their masters.
Democrats now represent 57% of the 4.8 million households that had incomes of $200,000 or more in 2008. In 2005, Republicans represented 55% of those affluent households.
Wonderful. We now have the chickens voting for Colonel Sanders.

More Government Run Success

There's been two instances of idiocy recently in the government run indoctrination centers known as the publik skool sistim.

Mostly Cajun has his take on it. Noel at Cold Fury has more.

I might expound on this when I get back from work. But for now, all I'm going to say is that if they'll suspend an Eagle Scout who has attended Basic Training and wants to go to West Point for college over a two-inch pocket knife, then they've shown the kind of non-thinking adherence to bureaucratic rules that thrives in government-run facilites. They've also shown the kind of hostility to independent thought and self-reliance that the FedGov just can't allow to flourish.

Bah.

Hat tip to Frankie C in an email.

And yet again....

Why is Olympia Snowe a Republican?

OK, yes, yes, I know Reagan's old maxim of how anyone who votes with me 80% of the time is my friend. But look - if that 80% is how we all love kittens, or how war is bad, or how sunshine should be encouraged, but the 20% you don't vote the same happens to deal with the bedrock principals that your political party supports, there's an issue.

You can vote with me on how jazz music should be celebrated, or how sexy my wife is, and that's all just fluff. If you consistently vote against fiscal responsibility and for more government spending, if you consistently vote for MORE government interference in American's daily lives, if you consistently vote against the interests of the conservative base, then what good are you?

Snowe needs to follow Arlen Specter's example and just leave. The GOP doesn't need her.

It snowed all day yesterday

But luckily the ground wasn't cold enough to let it stick. However the cold frames over the garden are covered in ice right now. We're going to need to grab whatever we can get from the garden, because it's not going to last long. Green tomatos will need to be pickled. Squash will need to be put up in storage or canned. Carrots? They can stay in the ground until we're ready to pull 'em. Thank goodness we already harvested most of the herbs before the cold killed them.

And Al Gore, aka Pope Prius the First, can kiss my ass. We're running the furnace right now. The dog started growing her winter coat IN AUGUST. This is going to be one hell of a cold year.

Oh crap

So it seems like Joe Lieberman is going to try to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell". I know that there are a lot of gay people who are going to be happy about it. I am not, and here's why:

The biggest problem allowing open homosexuality into the military will cause is that you're going to introduce a sexual dynamic into a situation that cannot handle it. Did that sound too..... psychologist-ish? Maybe. But when dealing with a combat unit, you need to avoid anything that could cause that unit to not trust each other. Unit cohesion is key. Each Soldier in that unit needs to trust each other without question. If there's anything that gets in the way of that trust, it needs to go. Period, end of story.

Introducing a sexual dynamic into the unit leads to a breakdown in unit moral, trust issues within the unit, and discipline issues as Soldiers do what every human does and tries to get laid. There's a crude, one sentence summary, but it's the truth, and it's the truth that nobody likes to admit.

People point out to me all the time that women joined the Army without any major issues. Oh really? No major issues? Let's not talk about the much-ballyhooed rise in sexual assaults within the Army. By the way, that article talks about quite a few things, but one item it never manages to mention is that you cannot throw men and women together in combat and expect them to function just like they were back home. For Pete's sake, we're doing SEX SIGNALS training IN A FUCKING COMBAT ZONE. You think there might be a problem? Is this the best use of Army resources in a damn combat zone? Are you fucking kidding me?

Sex in a combat unit tears it apart. I've had quite a few homosexuals tell me that Soldiers would just need to "get over it". All of those people have no idea about just what kind of culture a combat unit enforces. When the NCOs and Officers appointed over you have complete and total authority over your life, introducing sex is a good way to ruin the unit.

Hell, it's not like I haven't visited this subject before on occasion.

The military exists to fight. Anything that interferes with our ability to fight needs to be removed. I honestly believe that homosexuality does more harm than good to the military. Now, there are probably a bunch of people asking "But Dave, how in the name of Hades does a person's sexuality interfere with their ability to fight?" The simple answer? As an individual, it doesn't.

"But, but, but....." I can hear the breath being drawn in for a good yell in my direction. Hold off for a bit.

As I said, as an individual it doesn't interfere with fighting ability. But despite all the crap advertising from a couple of years ago, there are no meaningful individuals in the Army, other than perhaps a few generals and the CSM of the Army. The smallest unit in the military is a TEAM. We try to separate men from women because to be quite blunt, sexual relationships in a unit degrade that unit's ability to fight. We don't allow men and women to share a barracks room, because unless the two people are in a committed relationship, living with someone of the opposite sex in close quarters interferes with daily life. We discourage relationships within the unit as much as possible. And trust me, right now it's hard enough to keep things simple with just male/female dynamics involved. So you tell me - especially all you women out there - would you want someone of the opposite sex living in a room with you for a couple of years? Not in the same HOUSE, where everyone has their own little private room they can go into to escape. Your room. Your BEDROOM. Think about all the problems that would cause.

Now then, you tell me, where shall we house these newly accepted homosexuals in the Army? If we don't allow men and women to share a barracks or a tent due to the sexual complications and other problems inherent in that, what is the difference with two gay men? Or a gay man and a hetro man sharing the same room? There will be just as many problems and complications between THAT room-sharing couple as there would be with a man and a woman sharing a room.

Again, it degrades the effectiveness of the UNIT. They could be G.I. Joe as an individual for all I care, but if they degrade the UNIT then they need to go.
Hell, those two posts I linked to are some nice long reads all on their own, I don't need to write a third book. The reasons to object to homosexuals in the military are just as valid as they were two years ago, or five years ago. Nothing has changed. The military discriminates for a whole variety of reasons, all to protect the integrity of the unit and improve combat effectiveness. Those needs haven't changed. So what has? Oh, right, the person in the White House, the current occupant of which pandered to the Left to get the gay vote and now has his generals telling him the hard truth that he's unwilling to accept.

Gah.

Good God

Ever want to hear a Democrat admit what a conservative has been saying?

Here's your chance. Of course, this was in 2007 before Obama got elected. I'm sure he's singing a different tune right now.

Glow-bull Wormning

It is currently snowing quite nicely outside my window.

I blame Al Gore. And Global Warming. BECAUSE OF THE CHILDREN!

Or something like that.

Things I had forgotten

to continue to be outraged by:

POTUS statement when he cowtowed to public opinion and decided that war vets didn't need to carry private insurance to cover war injuries

" Look, it's an all-volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about hearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought tese were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. " I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I gues I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
This statement should outrage everyone. I wish we could have tried him for treason based on this stunt alone. I have to say his addition skills astound me. The addition being the Citizens, weighing the risks and benefits decide to become soldiers and risk becoming mortally injured because they know they will be taken care of if they do. This thinking is really no different than anyone else that wants to take benefits away from any Veteran. The Veteran has already fulfilled their part of the contract and for the government to change their end of the contract in unconscionable! For him to refer to the Veterans expecting the goverment to fulfil their part of the contract as "selfish" leaves me speachless and with a bad taste in my mouth. He is trying to run this country as it suites him. He really was just trying to destroy the military with this.

Congress retirement plan:
When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
When they die their wives continue to draw an outragous amount.

I can see they might earn a pension, but that they get this same benefit no matter how many terms they serve. They vote on this benefit for themselves, including raises, not John Q. Public, but them. Then the vote on John Q. Public's Social Security and it is amazing how stingy they become. Social Security does not get an increase this year folks. Grandma in Anywhere, USA is living on the same amount she did last year despite the cost of groceries and everything else going up. Does that sound fair to you?

I'm glad someone is asking

the question as to whether or not US troops have the best weapon. Because the answer is a resounding "NO!"

WASHINGTON — In the chaos of an early morning assault on a remote U.S. outpost in eastern Afghanistan, Staff Sgt. Erich Phillips' M4 carbine quit firing as militant forces surrounded the base. The machine gun he grabbed after tossing the rifle aside didn't work either.

When the battle in the small village of Wanat ended, nine U.S. soldiers lay dead and 27 more were wounded. A detailed study of the attack by a military historian found that weapons failed repeatedly at a "critical moment" during the firefight on July 13, 2008, putting the outnumbered American troops at risk of being overrun by nearly 200 insurgents.

Which raises the question: Eight years into the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan, do U.S. armed forces have the best guns money can buy?

I won't go into details on the story, you can read those yourself if you're so inclined. But let me say once again, as I'm sure I've said plenty of times before, the M-16 and M-4 are gigantic pieces of shit. I'm sure I'll get plenty of hate mail from all those folks with an AR-15 or other Evil Black Rifle variant, but it's a shitty weapon. It fires an undersized, underweight round for combat, and it's gas operated.

For those who don't understand that first part - the M-16/M-4 fires the 5.56mm round, which means that it's a friggin .22 caliber! This is a round perfect for hunting varmints and small game, but you wouldn't go hunting deer or elk with it. Well, if it won't take down a 200 pound deer, how the hell will it take down a 200 pound man? IT WON'T! And that's been proven in combat, when we've had to shoot the same mother-fucking terrorist bastard five or six times just to bring him down.

For the second part of the statement - gas operated: Every semi-automatic or automatic rifle needs to have some way to cycle the bolt. The standard cycle of a weapon is feeding (push a round out of the magazine), chambering (put the round in the chamber), locking (locks the bolt into position), firing, unlocking, extracting (pull expended case from chamber), ejecting (push expended case out of weapon), cocking (get set to do it all again). Now on a bolt action rifle, all of this is done by physically maneuvering the bolt by hand. In a semi-auto or full-auto weapon, you have to make the weapon do it all on it's lonesome. On the M-16/M-4, this is done with the gasses created by the round being fired. You have a gas tube that starts close to the end of the barrel, and goes all the way back to the bolt. The gasses that are pushing the actual bullet out of the barrel go into the gas tube and back down to the bolt, pushing it back and cycling the weapon.

"So Dave, what's wrong with that?" I can hear you ask. Well, you have a machine, and like all machines it's enemies are heat, dirt and moisture. By using the gasses from the round to cycle the weapon, you are literally shoving the heat and dirt BACK INTO THE WEAPON! The chamber and bolt of an M-16/M-4 get absolutely filthy after just one magazine being run through it. If you take my SKS, run fifty rounds through it, you have to clean the barrel, wipe the bolt off, swab out the chamber and put some gun oil on it. That's it. Done. Maybe 20 minutes, 15 if you have a bore-snake.

If you run fifty rounds through the M-16/M-4, you have got to completely disassemble that bitch, take the bolt completely apart, scrub the fuck out of it, clean the barrel, scrape the baked carbon out of the chamber, scrape the baked carbon off the bolt face, scrape the baked carbon off the firing pin, and put a thin layer of CLP all over everything in the vain hope that your gun will remain clean.

But it won't remain clean. It never remains clean enough. Every time the Army deals with problems from the M-4, they put out that mealy mouthed bullshit excuse: "
Army officials say that when properly cleaned and maintained, the M4 is a quality weapon that can pump out more than 3,000 rounds before any failures occur." Well FUCK YOU VERY MUCH, you worthless pansy-assed shithead! DO IT IN THE DESERT, where the sand isn't actually sand, it's fucking talcum powder and you can't keep it out of ANYTHING! Where machinery goes to die, because there ain't enough filters in the world to keep that said talcum powder out of the works. "Properly cleaned and maintained" means fucking spotless when it comes to the M-4, because one tiny speck of dirt jams the whole thing up. In essence, "properly cleaned" is a fucking fairytale once you get to anyplace other than a carefully maintained and regulated training environment. I once read over at Mad Ogre's site that when it comes to a battle rifle, if it jams you need to be able to open the bolt, piss into the chamber to clear it out, close the bolt and have that bastard work.

If you did that to the M-4, it would shriek like a three-year-old girl who just got a boo-boo, and then run away whimpering until it had it's government issued therapist stroke it and tell it that it's just as good as all those other weapons, and wouldn't it like to go out and show the nice Soldiers how well it can work? The M-4 is the dysfunctional, wussy kid brother to an actual battle rifle.

The US Army could fix this entire mess by doing two things: Using a bigger bullet, and replacing the gas tube with a gas PISTON. A bigger bullet would put terrorist tumblefucks down for good with fewer that five hits, and a gas piston would stop all those corrosive gasses at the piston itself, which means you would just scrape the baked carbon off the head of the piston instead of your entire fucking weapon. It would stop all that crap from covering the inner guts of the gun, and it would keep the bolt cooler. Which means what, boys and girls? LESS JAMMING! As an added bonus, by reworking these two items, you would only have to replace the upper receiver of the weapon, which means that you wouldn't spend millions replacing an entire weapons system. You could still use the basic rifle that US troops are accustomed to, and give them an insanely better weapon.

If you truly want to know what works and what doesn't work, look at what the Special Forces are using. Because their lives DEPEND on their weapons. They don't have time to dick around with a piece of shit that fails time after time. They don't use the M-16 or the M-4. They don't use the 9mm either, but that's a rant for another day.

I'll put it this way - I would rather use a M1903A3 boltie than the M-16. I would rather use the M1 Garand than the M-4. Hell, I'd rather use my old Mosin-Nagant 91/30 than the M-16 or M-4, because at least my Mosin-Nagant goes boom every time I pull the trigger, and I know damn well that whatever I hit with it will go down. I won't have to shoot some bastard five times, it's ONE SHOT, ONE KILL. Which means less time sticking my head up, less time exposed, and more time making sure the terrorist fucks don't ever terrorize anyone ever again.

I dream of the day we get rid of the M-16/M-4 or any variant of the 5.56mm weapons system.
