Two Must Reads
The Jawa Report: Hope, Change, and Lies.
The household goods are arriving today. I'd love to say that the house is in perfect shape, but there's still quite a bit that isn't done. And I'm never using oil based primer again. That crap takes forever to dry. But we did paint the living room and the dining room, cleaned up, put everything in it's place, so that when our worldly possessions show up we can get them set up and ready to go.
The stove and fridge show up on Wednesday. After that, I'll be blogging from a house that I own. Yeehaw!

Barack Obama In Veggie Burger Hill
Don't forget Barack Hussein Obama's smears of the troops he claims he wants to lead:
“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)
At a fancy '05 Manhattan fundraiser, Obama told the approving crowd that the Bush administration was using soldiers in Iraq as "cannon fodder."
“You know, I’ve heard from an Army captain who was the head of a rifle platoon — supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been sent to Iraq. And as a consequence, they didn’t have enough ammunition, they didn’t have enough humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief.” -- Barack Hussein Obama
..."oftentimes our women servicemembers are more prone to post-traumatic stress disorder partly because they — there's a sad, but real, problem of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for women veterans, and that makes them much more prone, then, to have post-traumatic stress disorder." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)
"If you talk to commanders on the ground there, they'll tell you, 'Instead of having another platoon, I'd rather have a couple of agricultural specialists." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D) who hasn't been "on the ground there" in Afghanistan

See ya all tomorrow.
Nice little rundown
Note that I am not surprised at how corrupt theThis Congress is a National Disgrace. Nancy Pelosi’s National Disgrace Congress of 2008.
Harsh? I don’t think so.
Take Charlie Rangel. On his 5-week paid vacation, he went to his tax-free Carribbean condo. It’s not supposed to be tax-free, it just worked out that way. Charlie is the Ways & Means Chairman, the committee which writes our tax laws. If he can’t understand his own tax laws what hope do the rest of us have?
Charlie blames the condo staff because they speak Spanish. But US tax law is written in English. Allegedly.
Joe Biden says paying high taxes is patriotic. I don’t think he should question Charlie’s patriotism like that.
It turns out that AIG had so much extra money laying around that they gave Charlie 10 million dollars for his “foundation”, because they care so deeply about good government. The Good News: surely they don’t need that giant bailout if they’ve got that kind of money to burn!
Will Charlie step down from his chaimanship? Of course not; this is the National Disgrace Congress.

Insantiy is hereditary
The son of state Rep. Mike Kernell has been contacted by authorities in connection with a probe into the hacking of personal e-mail of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Kernell told The Tennessean.Check out the kid's picture. Now, if you were going to put a photo of yourself online, wouldn't you want to avoid photos that look like you are a) stoned out of your mind, or b) masturbating furiously to midget porn?
Kernell, a Memphis Democrat, said his 20-year-old son David had been contacted by authorities investigating the hacking of Palin’s personal e-mail account, the newspaper reported on its Web site this afternoon.
And why am I not surprised that the people who broke the law in order too harass Gov. Palin are members of the

Putrid slimeballs
Filthy lying cockholsters.
Worthless oxygen thieves.
We've got seven weeks left. The sheer assault against anyone with half a brain is only going to get worse. The brainless minions of the Left will stop at nothing in their sheer naked grab for power.
I wonder when the physical assaults will start.
Democrats
Never let a lawyer meddle with the economy. And never let a Leftist anywhere near the levers of government. The results end up hurting everyone except for the rat-bastard commies who caused the problems in the first place. Because they make damn sure they got theirs, and screw everybody else. The untold story in this whole national crisis is that President Clinton put on steroids the Community Redevelopment Act, a well-intended Carter-era law designed to encourage minority homeownership. And in so doing, he helped create the market for the risky subprime loans that he and Democrats now decry as not only greedy but "predatory."
Yes, the market was fueled by greed and overleveraging in the secondary market for subprimes, vis-a-vis mortgaged-backed securities traded on Wall Street. But the seed was planted in the '90s by Clinton and his social engineers. They were the political catalyst behind this slow-motion financial train wreck.
And it was the Clinton administration that mismanaged the quasi-governmental agencies that over the decades have come to manage the real estate market in America.

Guess which candidate is talking about god?
The prayer that I tell myself every night is a fairly simple one: I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that my sins are forgiven, that my family is protected and that I am an instrument of God's will. I'm constantly trying to align myself to what I think he calls on me to do. And sometimes you hear it strongly and sometimes that voice is more muted.
What kind of republican douch would say that? I mean, talking to god? God talks to you and tells you how to live your life? Only a right-wing crazy would... OOOPS!
Amazing how the Leftists are attacking Sarah Palin because of her faith, and yet when Barak Obama was campaigning in churches all over the USA he got a pass.
Maybe because the Left thinks that Barak Obama doesn't believe it? I dunno.

Lindsay Lohan Lashes Out at Sarah Palin | Showbiz Spy
She said, "I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor, which is probably all she is qualified to be.Diddy, Barbra, Matt Damon, Whoopi, Bon Jovi.
"Oh, and... Hint Hint Pali Pal - Don't pose for anymore tabloid covers, you're not a celebrity, you're running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!"
Lohan -- who is rumored to be in a relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson -- also referenced Palin's views on homosexuality.
"Is it a sin to be gay?" Lohan asked. "Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
"Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?"
Quite the list of intellectuals lining up for Obama.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over!
That's pretty much what I said when I saw the attack ad put out by the Obama campaign. "McCain can't use the computer to send an email!" And he can't comb his hair, either. The injuries he suffered while a prisoner of the fucking commie Norks prevent him from tying his shoes as well.
But what really turns my crank is this: This topic came up during the 2000 election. Of Obama or any of his sycophants had bothered to spend five minutes online doing a Google search, they would have known that the attack would turn around to bite them in the ass. In fact, the Obama camp has been putting out one mistake after another. Once McCain announced Palin as his VP, the Obama camp has been drifting around, contradicting themselves, making gaffes left and right, and shooting themselves in the foot on a daily basis. Obama, who prided himself on how he ran his campaign, now can't seem to control it for one stinking day.
If he gets this flustered over the Governor of Alaska, how the hell is he going to deal with the leader of some pisshole backwater country that may just end up nuking part of the USA?
He can't even control his campaign staff. How the hell does he expect to control his cabinet and staff if he gets elected?
If the past few weeks have shown us anything, it's how unfit Obama is to be in charge of anything other than tying his own shoes. He's a stuttering idiot when he doesn't have words fed to him off a teleprompter. He makes "mis-statements" or "mistakes" or "gaffes" even when he DOES have a teleprompter. And he crumples like tin-foil when faced with any kind of opposition.
He's not ready to even be in this election. I can't wait for the debates.

Ace has a link to the Daily Kos petting zoo where they celebrate September 11th just a little differently than real Americans. But gosh, don't question their patriotism! Also a link showing just how badly the biased propaganda whores of the MSM are in the tank for the Donks.
The more I read, the more pissed off I get. The Left today is nothing more than howling, feces-flinging monkeys, unworthy of respect or any serious consideration. And I'm getting to the point right now where I've just flat out had enough. Enough of their lies. Enough of their smears. Enough of their childish actions, and enough of their bullshit. So I'm really, really, REALLY hoping that McCain/Palin win the ticket, and I'm really, really, REALLY hoping that the Left starts rioting.
Because I'm going to have a hickory axe handle, and a strong desire to use it.
How to win a war
I honestly believe that President Bush was saddled with political flunkies instead of Military Generals when we took office. The Clinton administration favored ass-kissers and paper-pushers over actual military thinking, and thus the people who were promoted to the higher positions were those that could kiss ass and push paper around instead of plan for wars. THAT is why we were losing in Iraq.I respect the chain of command. I know that the Joint Chiefs and the Pentagon have some concerns. One is about the Army and Marine Corps and the impact of the war on them. And the second is about other contingencies and the lack of strategic response to those contingencies.
I want Dave to know that I want him to win. That’s the mission. He will have as much force as he needs for as long as he needs it.
When he feels he wants to make further reductions, he should only make those reductions based on the conditions in Iraq that he believes justify those reductions. These two concerns that we are discussing back here in Washington — about contingency operations and the needs of the Army and the Marine Corps — they are not your concerns. They are my concerns.
I do not want to change the strategy until the strategy has succeeded. I waited over three years for a successful strategy. And I’m not giving up on it prematurely. I am not reducing further unless you are convinced that we should reduce further.
But a good CinC realizes when things are working, and looks to fix them. For all of President Bush's faults, he wanted to win. No withdraw, not set an "end date", he wanted to WIN this war. And so he took the steps he needed to take.
Fault him on his domestic policies, but don't fault him for his leadership of the military.

September 11th
So all I'm going to say about September 11th is one hopefully small paragraph.
When the planes hit the towers, my friend ended up waking me and the Ragin' Girlfriend (now the Ragin' Mrs.) with the news. We spent the rest of the day watching it on TV. I had been out of the Army for two years then, my obligation done, my turn at the wall over with. And yet, here I am again in uniform, the past three years of it on active duty. If September 11th had not happened, I would not have re-enlisted. But I'll be damned if my country calls and I don't answer.
I'm keeping this post non-political today. But you can expect a hellstorm tomorrow night. Yes, I am pissed.
Still Flailing
Sarah Palin's views make me fear that the Republican party has finally lost its mind. Can you imagine what it must be like to PAY to sit in a classroom or lecture hall and listen to self-important self-obsessed self-aggrandizing clucks like this?
As for sex, the hypocrisy of her outing her pregnant daughter in front of millions of people, hard on the heels of her concealing her own pregnancy (her faith in abstinence applying, apparently, only to non-Palins), is nicely balanced by her hypocrisy in gushing with loving support of her teenage daughter after using a line-item veto to cut funding for a transitional home for teenage mothers in Alaska.
Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman. The Republican party's cynical calculation that because she has a womb and makes lots and lots of babies (and drives them to school! wow!) she speaks for the women of America, and will capture their hearts and their votes, has driven thousands of real women to take to their computers in outrage. She does not speak for women; she has no sympathy for the problems of other women, particularly working class women.

I am beginning to hate Modern America
No, we're trying to buy a new stove for the house that we're purchasing this month. We need a new stove, since there isn't one in the house. Fine. Dandy. Let's get a new stove. We're pretty simple in our needs:
Four burners. Not the inline, glass covered crapola, but just four plain coil burners.
An oven, preferably self cleaning.
And last but not least, it needs to last. Which means that the less electrical gadgetry on it, the better. But guess what? All the newer ovens today are push button ovens. Which means that you have a friggin' computer panel right in the middle of a huge metal appliance that experiences huge changes in temperature and humidity on a DAILY BASIS! Guess how long THAT damn thing will last in my house? Sure, if you're the type of person that cooks once a week, it'll last forever. But if you actually use the stove to, oh, I don't know, COOK YOUR MEALS EVERY DAY, it won't last longer than a couple of years before it turns into crap!
What the fuck was wrong with having knobs on your stove? And why can't I find a single damn new stove or oven WITH knobs instead of this push-button crap? What the hell is wrong with America? Are we so mentally deficient that we have to push a button instead of turning a knob to the correct temperature? What the hell?
Anyone else see the movie WALL-E? That's what I see America turning into. A bunch of fat fucking idiots who live by punching buttons in a chair. And dammit, I might just find an old cast-iron wood burning stove and put it in my kitchen, because this computerized, won't last five years crap is pissing me the hell off. Some things do not need a computer in them. A stove/oven is one of those things. Dear lord, if you put some of these modern pansy shitheads in a house from twenty years ago, they would starve to death. "What? No push button? No Microwave? Oh, whatever will I do?" Fucking choke to death on your microwavable cup of soup, you asscannon. I'll bet that most of Modern America wouldn't be able to start a fire without a gallon of gasoline and a Bic lighter.
Bah. I know that I'm going to end up the cranky old fart in the woods, waving a shotgun at anyone who dares come on his land. But you know what? The more I see of modern society, the more I think that it's not that cranky old coot who's crazy, it's everybody else.
Why the Big Three Auto Companies are dying
So you have a vehicle that would perform all the duties that a HUGE FUCKING AMOUNT of people in America need a vehicle to perform. Tear your eyes off of New York Fucking City, or Los Fucking Angeles, and take a look at the middle of the country. See all that space? People live there. People who own farms, or ranches, or just huge amounts of land that they need to work on. And they need a vehicle to work on those farms or ranches or acreage. This Jeep J8 would sell like hotcakes.Unless you’re a foreign military, government, or humanitarian organization, you’re not getting your hands on the Jeep J8, a vehicle we think a number of Jeepers would be all over in about two seconds if it were to be offered in neighborhood dealerships. Available as a two-door pickup (above) or a four-door (like the civilian Wrangler Unlimited), the J8 goes on sale this month and was officially revealed at Euro Camp Jeep ‘08 in Germany.
Power comes from a 150-horse turbodiesel with 295 lb-ft of torque, with that juice going to all four wheels via a five-speed auto and Jeep’s Command-Trac 4WD. The J8’s built to be a workhorse, with a Dana 60 rear, leaf springs in back, upgraded brakes, and a revamped intake that lets it ford 30 inches of water and handle a sandstorm lasting up to five hours. Its max payload is 2,750 pounds, and it has a towing capacity of over 7,700 pounds. Because the J8’s duties will vary depending upon who’s placing the order, a variety of cargo and seating configurations are offered, as is left- or right-hand-drive. All this, and no, you can’t order one. Yes, that sucks.
But we can't buy them. Nope, that's for them special people, not us commoners.
And they wonder why they're losing money hand over fist? Fuck them. If they're that damn stupid, they deserve to go out of business.
Hahaha!
South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate "whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion."I read somewhere today speculation that the Democrats' internal polls show them in deep, deep trouble, maybe even checkmated, so long as Palin remains the GOP VP candidate.
They sure are going out whole hog to get her. It's almost like a high tech lynching, but they cannot find a tree strong enough to hold her.
Poor dumb bastards.

The Americans are doing it again, mystifying the masses here with their weird, weird presidential elections.Feel the stupid, folks. "Spared" from the horror of a two party system by the wonderful Communist Party! Right, because the Chinese can vote for anyone they want, but there's only one name on the ticket! To the Chinese, who are spared by the one-party Communist system of such complications as electoral colleges and party caucuses, the spectacle unfolding in the United States is not a very tempting advertisement for democracy.
Yet if the Chinese think the U.S. presidential campaign is chaotic and unseemly, there is good reason. Chinese coverage has not exactly highlighted the more flattering aspects of the American political process.Well gee, why wouldn't the ChiComs want to paint a flattering picture of American Politics? Maybe because if the Chinese found out that the rest of the world isn't forced to abort their second child, they might get a little ticked off?
And that, folks, is why I canceled my newspaper subscription when I lived in Seattle. Found at RSN.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Gee, two of the biggest no-talent, biased asscannons ever to disgrace a TV screen have finally been fired.
Unfortunately, they've hired David Gregory to replace them, showing that MSNBC still hasn't learned a damn thing. Hey NBC - it's not just that Olbermann and Matthews were idiots, it's that they're biased pieces of shit who were nothing more than mouthpieces for the DNC on the air. That turned off plenty of viewers. And if you expect David Gregory to change that, well, you're dumber than a mud fence.
But then, if you were smart, you wouldn't have allowed Olbermann and Matthews to continue this long.
How does Barack Hussein Obama really see the military?
“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)So... they are slaughtering civilians like Ghengis Khan eh?
At a fancy '05 Manhattan fundraiser, Obama told the approving crowd that the Bush administration was using soldiers in Iraq as "cannon fodder."So... they are stupid? eh?
“You know, I’ve heard from an Army captain who was the head of a rifle platoon — supposed to have 39 men in a rifle platoon. Ended up being sent to Afghanistan with 24 because 15 of those soldiers had been sent to Iraq. And as a consequence, they didn’t have enough ammunition, they didn’t have enough humvees. They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief.” -- Barack Hussein ObamaSo... voting against funding the troops is working eh?
..."oftentimes our women servicemembers are more prone to post-traumatic stress disorder partly because they — there's a sad, but real, problem of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for women veterans, and that makes them much more prone, then, to have post-traumatic stress disorder." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)So... when they aren't killing civilians they are molesting our service women who are stupid to join up as well? eh?
"If you talk to commanders on the ground there, they'll tell you, 'Instead of having another platoon, I'd rather have a couple of agricultural specialists." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D) who hasn't been "on the ground there" in Afghanistan
Because nothing inflicts casualties upon the Taliban like "agricultural specialists".

Joe Biden: Dirty as a Skunk
Can't excerpt it all, the gist is this, I think:
Joe Biden likes to say he is the embodiment of the American dream -- a middle-class kid who became one of the U.S. Senate's most-respected members and, now, the Democratic nominee for vice president.Probably no more smarmy than a lot of what happens in DC. But a working class hero?
Though he's considered one of the least wealthy senators -- his net worth dwarfed by several multimillionaire attorneys and entrepreneurs -- Biden is a wealthy man by ordinary standards -- worth about $2 million but perhaps hundreds of thousand dollars more, a News Journal analysis found.
.
.
.
While their earnings probably would not be enough to purchase their Greenville estate today, the Bidens have managed to live in such splendor partly because of two financially rewarding real estate deals with political supporters.
In 1996, Biden sold a home in Greenville for the asking price of $1.2 million -- more than six times what he paid two decades earlier -- to John R. Cochran III, a top executive at the MBNA credit card bank that was a longtime political benefactor.
Using profits from that sale, Biden paid $350,000 cash to real estate executive and developer Keith D. Stoltz for 4.2 vacant acres -- a long, narrow lot a few miles from Biden's old home. Stoltz had bought that same lot five years earlier for the same price.
Stephen Pyle, who sold the land to Stoltz in 1991, said he was surprised that Stoltz, who lived on a neighboring estate, did not make any profit selling to Biden. "That doesn't sound like Keith Stoltz," Pyle, an artist who now lives in Texas, said of Stoltz, whose company recently proposed a $525 million project at nearby Barley Mill Plaza, a former DuPont Co. office campus.
.
.
.
Sen. Biden married Jill in 1977 and the couple raised three children in the home. In 1996, they put it on the market for $1.2 million -- and that's exactly what Cochran, MBNA's chief marketing officer, paid for it.
That fall, the home sale became controversial when a pollster for Biden's re-election opponent, Republican Raymond Clatworthy, suggested during a telephone survey that Cochran paid more than twice what the house was worth.
.
.
.
That didn't end the controversy, however. The American Spectator, a conservative magazine, published an article in 1998 that branded Biden as "The Senator from MBNA." The story was written long before Biden supported federal bankruptcy reform legislation, an effort that MBNA pursued aggressively.
The piece noted that MBNA employees had given $62,850 to Biden for his 1996 re-election -- by far the most from any company -- and that Cochran himself had given the maximum $2,000.
MBNA also reimbursed Cochran $330,115 for his move to Delaware from Maryland, including $210,000 for a loss on his old home, the magazine wrote, citing an MBNA Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Shortly after Biden defeated Clatworthy, the magazine reported, MBNA hired Biden's son Hunter, a Yale Law School graduate, to a management trainee post. Hunter Biden later left the bank and became a lobbyist.
Ummm, no.

Mmmmmmmmmm. American Legion Fish Fry.
Sounds tasty, and with good company.
So here it is, wonderful:
This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.http://blogs.denverpost.com/opinion/2008/09/06/republican-recycling/
Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.
“What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags,” a Republican official emailed. “We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3×5 flag.”
WTF?
Busy today
Rivrdog wanted a little comparison on cheeses from Wisconsin. So the wife and I will be doing a little write-up. We haven't tried them all yet, but we've already found a few we love. There's a cheese factory about 30 miles to the south-west that has a cheddar line up to blow your mind; everything from mild to 20-year old sharp, and yes it's just that damn good. From plain to fancy gourmet, we've liked just about everything we've tried, and we've found some that we absolutely love.
Yes, we're food snobs. And liquor snobs as well. We admit it, and it's a fault that we can both happily live with. If anyone comes to visit, you'll be well fed.
So I'm off. You folks have a great day.

Good God....

And my pants fit better today too.
What, you didn't think I was all politics all the time did you?
Piling on
Slublog unloads...The Geraldine Ferraro Democratic Vice Presidential nominee appointment was an inspired stroke of genius that advanced the cause of feminism; Palin’s was tawdry tokenism.
Edwards was a social reformer brought down by the tabloids; Palin’s 17-year-old daughter is white trash and fair game.
Insulting “small town mayors” and “good looking” women is funny; suggesting that “community organizing” is often a farce is a felony.
Obama’s violation of drug laws with a “little blow” was youthful exuberance; Palin’s husband’s DUI was more proof of a working-class messy family.
Joe Biden bravely continued as Senator after the tragic death of his wife and daughter left his injured young sons with a single parent; Sarah Palin selfishly shorted her children by running for VP and endangered her infants by flying while pregnant.
Criticizing Clinton’s engaging in sex in the oval office and lying about it to the American people were once “the politics of personal destruction”; lying that Sarah Palin might not have been the mother of her 5th child is the mere overreach of the blogs caused by the improper vetting of the McCain campaign.
This all reminds me of the 2000 campaign when the media beat the dead-horse of Bush (Yale BA, Harvard MBA) as the lousy, lazy C-student, when, in fact, Al Gore’s undergraduate record at Harvard was full of C’s, F’s at Vanderbilt Divinity School (dropped out), and C’s at Vanderbilt Law School (dropped out). The point is not that quitting professional schools is necessarily a sign of anything, but rather once again that the media is shown to be bending and inventing facts for their higher purposes of liberal utopianism— a continuation of some half a century when we remember the “dumb” Ike floundering before the “brilliant” and “witty” Adlai Stevenson (who flunked out of Harvard Law School, a fact hidden from the public for decades.)
You want to know why conservatives roared last night when the media was bashed and why many of us have spent the week in a simmering rage? It's because you're hypocrites. You claim to be objective, yet have spent the past few days absolutely smearing a woman and her family because she had the audacity to be a conservative Republican. You have expended more time and effort discussing her daughter's sex life than you've spent looking into the business and political associates of the Democrat candidate for president of the United States. When you did explore Palin's actual record, you have often done so with little regard for the truth. You and your colleagues have relinquished your right to be taken seriously as honest brokers of information.
And what this column shows me is that you know it. Behind the sarcasm lies an attempt to justify your behavior of the past week. Your little snark-fest is step one in the rehabilitation campaign. I don't think it's going to work all that well.
The media is proving that they're nothing more than hyper-partisan jackals. And they're proving it to anyone with a brain and eyes to see or ears to here.

Remember just yesterday...
Yep.
And yep.
Lemme slap ya with some Velociman, courtesy of Og.
I don't know. But why can't she stand or fall on her own merits, without the left resorting to filthy smears and character assassination? I am outraged at the despicable libels and slanders hurled at her by the left, to wit:
1. Her Down Syndrome child is actually her daughter's.
2. She should be home with her children instead of being on the hustings.
3. She had an affair with her husband's best friend.
Just to name the latest. Oh, and when the media realized this shit was going sour they changed the meme to McCain didn't vet her! What horseshit. She was vetted for 5 months. And it was funny to see Alan Colmes still plying that crap, because he goes on at 9 PM, and the talking points change so fast he always ends up with the stale shit. Holding fetid talking points memos from DailyKos that virtually drip with obsolescence. The rage virus moves fast, Alan.
This type of attack is tolerated by the Obama campaign, if not sourced by it. It's a goddam sin against the American body politic, to me.
I don't even think I'm from the same species as today's leftist in general, and Democrat in particular. These people will employ any lie, any slander, any dissonance to their own professed beliefs to win. There is no excuse for these slimy fucking worms to behave this way. Except to win in Engels fashion.
I think this election season will prove that Leftists have no place in the human race. They've dropped far below us.
Again, yep. Let's see.... unfounded accusations, flat out lies, all designed to damage and destroy Sarah Palin.
It's the Left at it's finest. At this point, the only tactics the Left hasn't tried is rounding up the Palins and shipping them off to a gas chamber.
But don't think they're not thinking about it.
Rich Masters can kiss my ass
“And with affiliations like that I’m interested in what connections she has to Aryan and White Power groups. You did know she was born in Idaho, right?”Hey Masters, you festering pustule on Idaho's ass..... In case it passed the notice of flaming assholes like yourself, we kicked those skinhead bastards out of Idaho. And guess what? We'd kick your ass out as well. Care to know why? Because you're both perfect examples of self-absorbed, brain-damaged, know-nothing, do-nothing wastes of oxygen. That's right, brainless blowhards like yourself are considered equal to racist pieces of shit like the skinheads. You're both intolerable, and I wouldn't piss on either of you if you were on fire in the middle of the street.

Gateway Pundit unloads on Code Pink haters
These are the people who maintain a 365 day-a-year, 7 day-a-week, 24 hour-a-day protest at Walter Reed military hospital to taunt the families of our wounded soldiers.
Screw "taking the high ground".

Birds of a feather, and all that....
What's good for the goose.....
More good news from Iraq
Two years ago, Anbar Province was the most lethal place for American forces in Iraq. A U.S. marine or soldier died in the province nearly every day, and the provincial capital, Ramadi, was a moonscape of rubble and ruins. Islamic extremists controlled large pieces of territory, with some so ferocious in their views that they did not even allow the baking of bread.
On Monday, U.S. commanders formally returned responsibility for keeping order in Anbar Province, once the heartland of the Sunni insurgency, to the Iraqi Army and police. The ceremony, including a parade on a freshly paved street, capped one of the most significant turnabouts in the country since the war began five and a half years ago.
Just think - if Obama had his way, Anbar Province would still be a violent hellhole, and Iraq would be worse off than they ever were under Saddam.
So Palin is running for VP
For the first time in this election season, I actually have something to vote FOR rather than AGAINST.
Now, she's not going to fix all the problems the Republican Party has, but it's that small first step of a journey.
Ever gone skin diving?
Yeah. I kinda feel like that. But the Ragin' Household has the internet again!

The more I think about Biden
He just gave John McCain the best shot at victory as McCain has seen this year. Short of picking Bela Pelosi as his running mate, all McCain has to do is stand on stage and ask America "Are you really going to elect THAT?!?!?!"
Flyin'
Still, I'll be glad to be out of the city and back in the country. I never realized just how much I missed rural living until I was back in the country of Wisconsin.
Pot use and the Democrat Party
(Yeah, I know that according to Denver state laws it's still illegal, but I'm just being snarky today.)

Here's another thought
I'm trying to find the video clip of Biden saying that you can't walk into a convenience store without a slight Indian accent. You watch that video, and then you watch Phil Hartman playing the dipshit, and compare the two. THEY ARE IDENTICAL! The voice, the facial expressions, the clear lack of intelligence shown by both men (although Hartman was only acting stupid), they are identical.
Trust me on this. It would be a perfect political ad. Well, it would if anyone else other than myself had actually watched the movie.
Here's a thought
In short, he's the perfect target.
What if that's the point? I mean, Obama sits back and lets Biden get pounded, while all the while he pounds on McCain, and in the end it doesn't matter what Obama stands for because NOBODY CAN REMEMBER WHAT THE HELL HE SAID. Because all the attention was on Biden.
Or maybe I just had one drink too many.
Obama picks Biden
I suppose if you wanted to attract the coastal liberal elites, Biden is a great pick. If you wanted to attract voters from the Midwest, the South and Western states, you couldn't have picked a worse candidate for VP. Right now as the ticket stands, the candidate for President is a done-nothing neophyte from the Chicago political machine who stands for some vague concepts but nothing specific, and the candidate for VP is a career politician from the Northeast who's known for verbal gaffes and plagiarism.
I'm a little underwhelmed.
This will be an interesting election season.

Hey, what's that smell?
Granted, we conservatives also know that we have been handed a shit sandwich. We just knew it a long time ago.
Learn English, dumbass!
Now, I'm not talking about a few spelling errors here. I think that everyone who has typed up a document has made a few of those. Maybe put a comma where a period should have gone. Used a colon for a semicolon. Fine, those I can deal with. What I cannot deal with is crap like this:
u r a tool you don't now what ur talking aboutLook, I get it - you're a spastic teenage twit who has never cracked open a book that didn't have pop-up pages. But if you're going to call me a tool, could you PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD try not to look like some ignorant, uneducated, worthless waste of time, space, and oxygen? Oh, and claiming to have a college degree while you write crap like that? Sorry, I was born at night but it wasn't last night.
You know what worries me? This brainless jughead is going to VOTE! He knows nothing about how this country works, why it was founded, the ideals behind it and the people that made it all happen. And yet he's going to be part of that great idiotic mass that votes for The Lord Messiah Barak Hussien Obama, and do his best to flush this country down the toilet.

The Army and Money
So, we have the PCS. The subsequent drive from my Home of Record to my new unit. Finding a house. Renting a house while we search for a house to buy. All of which takes money. Lots and lots of money. The wife and I had a darn good amount of cash stored in savings, but much of it was used. Not a problem, that's what it was there for, and we'll be getting some of it back from travel vouchers but that won't be for another month and a half or so. DFAS is swamped, so most vouchers take one to two months to process. Still not a big deal, or a big worry.
And now I go TDY. I have a 200 mile drive, followed by a plane trip to Detroit. I return on Sunday, pick up my truck and drive 200 miles back to my station. NOW we're getting into the big deal, because quite frankly I don't have the money to be buying plane tickets right now, yannow? But wait, the Army issues Government Travel Cards, credit cards to be used by government employees just for this purpose! Great! And I have one of those wonderful Government Travel Cards!
Which has bitten me in the ass every last time I used it. And it's biting me in the ass now. Somehow, the damn thing never got activated for this particular TDY. Yep, you have to activate it every last damn time you use the worthless fucking thing, and so now I'm sitting in Minnesota with little personal cash in my account, and a GTC which I'm forced to use that hasn't been activated! So I get to pull some of the remaining cash out of my savings to cover my lodging and food! ONCE AGAIN, I AM USING MY PERSONAL MONEY FOR ARMY BUSINESS, AND I AM GETTING RATHER TIRED OF IT! The last time I used the card, I had to wait two damn months for the card to get paid, and I was getting nasty-grams from the Bank of America, a thoroughly shitty bank that I strongly urge that nobody EVER use, and now even though I have a $200 credit on the card I can't use it because some dipshit up higher decided that it wasn't going to get activated!
I'm so pissed off I'm spitting nails.
At least the bank approved the loan for the house. And my wife still loves me. So does my dog. So, I have that.

More government thuggery.
Sending storm-troopers into a guys house because he bought handgun ammo? Yep.
Confiscating supplies and notes from the house of a do-it-yourself chemist even though he hasn't broken any laws? Yep.
As Ronald Reagan said years ago, "The scariest words in the English language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help'" Add the two examples abover to the Idaho man who was jailed by a petty tyrant because he had the audacity to follow the rules and laws of where he lived. At which point do we as citizens start to lock and load? How about we start just shutting our doors in the faces of the thugs and storm-troopers sent by a government that more and more resembles the government we broke away from over two-hundred years ago? Re-issue the Declaration of Independence to the corrupt, blood-sucking shitheels in D.C. It's as valid today as it was back in 1776.
Government is the PROBLEM
Bid accepted
I'm scared witless right now. For everyone else who has their own home, did you feel like this when you bought your first house?

House hunting part Tres
The rental is an absolutely beautiful house. It's also about $30,000 more than we can afford to buy. So until we have OUR house in OUR name, we'll continue living there and fixing it up as we can. Nothing too expensive, but I can afford to put some elbow grease into making it better while I live there.
And coffee shops with Wi-Fi are my friend.
More evidence that the MSM is worthless
You cannot trust the MSM to tell you the truth. Actually, you can't trust the MSM to tell you anything that they do not personally and politically agree with. They are whores. Harlots. They are the cheap, tawdry tavern wench who has been bought and paid for to slip a mickey into your drink when you're not looking. They are scum. Worthless and pathetic, they have given up their mantel as "reporters" and have gone straight into political advocacy disguised as news. Any claim of objectivity from the MSM can be discarded as complete rubbish, and the credibility of any journalist can be assumed to be nil, zip, zilch, nada, non-existent.
I have to scan five different sources for a news story before I'll even begin to believe it. And unfortunately, I find myself looking at stories that don't make it very far and wondering "Did that die because it's false, or did that die because the MSM doesn't agree with the political angle?"
I wouldn't trust a "journalist" any farther than I could throw him.
The Olympic Games are on
I do not need to see a close-up of a Chi-com with LED lights on his wanger, thanks very much, go kill yourself for being such a moron, mmkay? For Pete's sake, the performers could have been giving a one-of-a-kind show, and I missed it because the drug-soaked idiot in charge of the cameras wants to give me a shot of some single performer's FREAKING FEET! Put the bong down, you shit-for-brains asshole! Pull the camera back! You turned a good show into a miserable experience!
Oh, and the commercials during the Parade of Athletes. Matt Lauer and Bob Costas blathering away for thirty seconds, followed by two minutes of commercials. "And here's the tiny island nation of Tututu, wearing constumes representing the penis of their monarch, King Schlongalong! You know, they worship their king's phallus, Matt! Now let's take a quick break for commercials!"
*****two minutes of Raging Dave beating himself unconscious with a beer bottle*******
"And we're back, as the Australians enter this magnificent arena! Aren't their dusters magnificent, Matt? Now let's take a quick commercial break!"
*****two more minutes of Raging Dave trying to kill himself with an ottoman*****
After a while, I just turned it to a different channel, and I would click back over to see when the Americans were entering. And oh, by the way, how did everyone love the sheer, Soviet-style military showing of the flag raising? You could almost hear Joseph Stalin screaming from his grave "DA! DA, COMRADE!" I thought the goose-stepping while carrying the Olympic freaking flag was a rather nice touch.
Blah.
Anyways, I guess I'll have to read all about the games in the newspaper for a little while. Ah well. That's life.
spankspankspank
Thanks, Alger.
What do you make of this?
Reader Proud Horn emailed me this, and asked of Obama was a Trekkie. (reference for that here) Me, I'm not so sure. August 8, 1942 German saboteurs executed in Washington
6 German saboteurs executed in WashingtonShortly after midnight on the morning of June 13, 1942, four men landed on a beach near Amagansett, Long Island, New York, from a German submarine, clad in German uniforms and bringing ashore enough explosives, primers, and incendiaries to support an expected two-year career in the sabotage of American defense-related production. On June 17, 1942, a similar group landed on Ponte Vedra Beach, near Jacksonville, Florida, equipped for a similar career in industrial disruption.
The purpose of the invasions was to strike a major blow for Germany by bringing the violence of war to our home ground through destruction of America's ability to manufacture vital equipment and supplies and transport them to the battlegrounds of Europe; to strike fear into the American civilian population, and diminish the resolve of the United States to overcome our enemies.
By June 27, 1942, all eight saboteurs had been arrested without having accomplished one act of destruction. Tried before a Military Commission, they were found guilty. One was sentenced to life imprisonment, another to thirty years, and six received the death penalty, which was carried out within a few days.
...
The eight were tried before a Military Commission, comprised of seven U.S. Army officers appointed by President Roosevelt, from July 8, to August 4, 1942.
Constrast that to Sweetness & Light's observation:

Too Much Government
"It's a civic responsibility for every U.S. citizen to read this so they can't later claim, "We had no idea the smoke was from those ovens."
Innocent people following the law getting tossed into prison due to some black-robed petty tyrant? Gosh, that couldn't happen in America, could it? IT HAS HAPPENED. IT IS HAPPENING. Out of control government agencies. Judicial activism at it's worst. And a man going to jail because he followed the laws and did what he was told to do by the county he lives in and the US Corps of Engineers. Tell me that it wouldn't be appropriate to bring out the tar and feathers and march on D.C. It's well PAST that point. The parasitic bastards should have been tarred and feathered years ago.

Mike Gravel(D) defends a terrorist with terrorism
...urged people to stalk a federal prosecutor and his family in order to get criminal contempt charges dropped against Sami Al-Arian..."Find out where he lives. Find out where his office is. If you've got some chutzpah - which is a word that you don't hear often - if you've really got it, find out where he lives, find out where his kids go to school, find out where his office is; picket him all the time. Call him a racist in signs if you see him. Call him an injustice. Call him whatever you want to call him, but in his face all the time. They can't take the heat; deliver it to them. We have to stop laying down to these injustices."...Al-Arian pled guilty in 2006 to conspiring to provide goods and services to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). His 2005 trial ended with eight acquittals and a deadlocked jury on nine other counts, including racketeering conspiracy. He has argued that his plea agreement ruled out what he considers cooperation with any government investigations. But Kromberg has argued that a grand jury subpoena is not cooperation, but rather it is a compelled statement. When Al-Arian refused to testify despite a grant of immunity, he was subject to civil contempt orders that extended his incarceration for months.
Mike Gravel(D) is not just willing to defend a terrorist but is in fact threatening children of public servants tasked with bringing that terrorist to justice. A vomitous coward demonstrating exactly the tactics we've seen his party adopt repeatedly to veil the threat to innocents.
I hope Mike Gravel(D), gets exactly that which he wishes upon children. Better yet... grant him the fate he would allow Sami Al-Arian's fellow terrorists to visit upon children.

Barack Hussein Obama smears the troops... again...
“So Senator Obama and his campaign decided that it would be inappropriate to visit wounded soldiers in Germany while touring Europe as a candidate for the presidency. Senator McCain hit this one right on the head: it is never inappropriate to visit our wounded men and women in uniform.” -- Bobby EberleYet
"When Obama learned that he couldn't bring his media circus, he blew off visiting wounded US troops in Germany. But Iraq's Minister of the Interior Jawad Karim al-Bolani holds them in higher regard, visiting them at Walter Reed and offering them the thanks for ending Saddam Hussein's menacing and genocidal rule that have not been forthcoming from the Democrats who helped send them to war." -- Van HelsingIn fact Barack Hussein Obama credits the terror supporters for the success of the surge rather then the American troops that risked their lives to stop them.
“So the point that I was making at the time was that the political dynamic [in Iraq] was the driving force between that sectarian violence. And we could try to keep a lid on it, but if these underlining dynamic continued to bubble up and explode the way they were, then we would be in a difficult situation. I am glad that in fact those political dynamic shifted at the same time that our troops did outstanding work.” -- Barack Obama on the surgeLeaving an honest few in the MainStreamMedia surprised
“Why can’t Obama bring himself to acknowledge the surge worked better than he and other skeptics, including this page, thought it would? What does that stubbornness say about the kind of president he’d be?” -- USA TodayThis isn't surprising as he has called our boys murderers:
“We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)He has called our boys stupid:
At a fancy '05 Manhattan fundraiser, Obama told the approving crowd that the Bush administration was using soldiers in Iraq as "cannon fodder."He has called our boys clueless
They were actually capturing Taliban weapons, because it was easier to get Taliban weapons than it was for them to get properly equipped by our current commander in chief.” -- Barack Hussein ObamaHe has called our boys mentally ill:
..."oftentimes our women servicemembers are more prone to post-traumatic stress disorder partly because they — there's a sad, but real, problem of sexual harassment and sexual abuse for women veterans, and that makes them much more prone, then, to have post-traumatic stress disorder." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D)He has repeatedly demonstrated arrogance and ignorance
"If you talk to commanders on the ground there, they'll tell you, 'Instead of having another platoon, I'd rather have a couple of agricultural specialists." -- Barack Hussein Obama Jr.(D) who hasn't been "on the ground there" in Afghanistan
Barack Hussein Obama claims he wants to lead as Commander-in-Chief?

Crap. Well, they've been kicking ass for years. If anyone deserves to say "Nope, no more" it's them. But..... I give it a year before Mr. du Toit starts up again. In my honest opinion, I don't think he can keep quiet when he knows he can have a positive effect.
And if he doesn't come back, at least we can say that we learned something from him while he was around.

I managed to visit one person, LifeTrek, who graciously opened up his house to my family and I. We were able to relax in comfort for a while before we gassed up and made the last leg of the journey. Right now we're poring over real estate and getting ready to jump back into the swing of things.
Other than the mosquitoes, I have no complaints about the area. In fact, even though I know that it's going to get cold as hell in the wintertime, I'm still looking forward to it. The people here are polite and friendly, the roads are in decent shape, and the wife is happy.

Gas prices
One thing that always pisses me off is when some clueless Leftist (redundancy alert) starts blabbing about how mass transit or alternate fuels could wean us off oil. On the alternate fuels point, I'll let Mr. Alger take over, since he manages to shred that particular argument in about five minutes flat.
But this mass transit thing. I've heard it mentioned before. "But, but, Europe has trains! Japan has trains! We can have trains!" Or buses. Or whatever mode of transportation is being discussed.
People who make this argument have never taken the journey that I have this week. Or the several that I've taken over my life, from one coast to the other. Leftists don't have any comprehension of just how big this country is, how vast the spaces are. A train from Berlin to Paris works because it's only around 545 miles. That's two countries, millions of people, all in an area that would fit into Montana. Hell, Montana took us two days to traverse. Germany could be dropped into Texas and IT WOULD FIT EASILY.
Mass transit is not the answer for this country. Sorry. But them's the facts.
Say WHAT?

St. Louis, MO
After three years of Puerto Rico, you would think that I would be used to hot and humid. You would be wrong.
Stopped by the Baker's Creek Seed Company about 45 miles out of Springfield. It's an Heirloom seed company. The wife danced around a little bit and then bought forty-five different packs of seeds. We got carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, melons, gourds, radishes, beans, more beans, peas, summer squash, winter squash.... whew..... next spring is going to be plant heaven at my house. Cool place, and the guy helping us pick seeds out knew damn near everything about what was in his store. Turned out, he was the owner. Not only that, but he'd started the company when he was 17.
When I was 17, I was chasing girls and banging on drums. I guess it took me a little while to get myself in gear.
I pick up my truck tomorrow. WOO-HOO! I get to drive my vehicle again! Don't get me wrong, my wife's car is nice, but it's sized for her. As in, sized for her 5'4" frame, not my 6' frame. Getting in and out requires at least ten minutes of limbering up before I attempt it, lest I contort myself in some odd fashion and pull a muscle or rupture a hamstring.
We should be in Wisconsin by tomorrow night. Long day of driving, but at least we won't have any further to go.

Sioux Falls, SD
Maybe I should start a photography blog. Meh. We'll see.
South Dakota has it's own beauty that has to be seen to be appreciated. You can't get it from a photograph, although some come close. Neither the Ragin' Mrs. nor the Ragin' Stepson had ever truly understood the phrase "Big Sky Country". After the drive through Montana and South Dakota, I think they have a much better understanding.
We'll be heading South tomorrow, through Iowa and ending up in Missouri. We'll be kicking around Missouri for the weekend taking care of business, and then heading up to Wisconsin through Illinois. That's the basic layout, although the Ragin' Mrs. and I are rather capricious when it comes to travel plans so long as we meet the timeline at the end. We'll be driving by something and go "Oooooo!", turn into whatever the attraction is, and spend some time. That's how we met Brutus. All 800 pounds of him.
And he's still growing!
More updates as time and internet permit. Till then.....

Rapid City, SD
Stopped at Little Bighorn Battlefield. I didn't know they had markers up at the locations where they found the bodies of the Soldiers. So you have the main monument, and then you have marble headstones on the locations of where the different soldiers fell. Some headstones have names. Some just say "U.S. Soldier, 7th Cavalry" They have a National Cemetery there as well. Lots of headstones with just a name, and "Infant" or "Child" underneath it. Life on the frontier was harsh. These headstones are a glaring reminder of just what people endured over a century ago so that I could sit here four generations later and type on a computer in South Dakota.
We're taking things slow, turning this trip into a vacation instead of just traveling straight through. We purposely avoid any national restaurants or stores, staying completely local. We ate at the Firehouse Brewing Company tonight in Rapid City. The beer was OK, but the food was good. Drooled over some buffalo hides that I can't afford and couldn't fit into the already overpacked car in any case. Strolled around the historic area of Rapid City. They have bronze statues of the founding fathers at every corner of several blocks. You couldn't find that in California if you tried. The Ragin' Mrs. hasn't been out this way before, and she's a bit surprised at the way most people are actually proud of their country. She's still suffering from Puerto Rico. It's going to take us a while to recover from that place.
