Deer - food, clothing, and roadblocks
Coming home from a two hour drive, I see a deer in the road. There's been deer all over the place tonight, but this one is actually in the road, right in my lane. FUUUUUUUUUCK! Hit the brakes, steer to the left, and I see the deer turn towards the side of the road as if he's actually going to get out of the way. Then, at the last moment, that little fucking rat-bastard turns and bolts at the opposite side of the road, and runs smack dab into my car. Head-first into the passenger window.
Glass shatters. I hear a "THUMP". I pull over. The deer is laying in the road, my passenger is covered with broken glass, I've damn near shit myself and the Ragin' Mrs. is demanding to know who just rudely woke her up from her nap, and can I please kill whoever it was.
Then the deer gets up and runs away. OK, so I didn't kill it. I almost wish I had, so that I could take it home and turn it into venison steaks. Hit my car? Hit my grill! I'm checking out the car. The passenger window is gone. Passenger mirror is gone, but the housing is still there. In fact, the housing doesn't have a crack that I can see, but the glass is shattered. I can't figure that one out. A few smudges on the side of the car, and that's it.
No one injured, and a grand total of one window and one mirror broken. That's it.
I'm still kind of in that FUCKING DEER FUCKING HIT MY FUCKING CAR THE FUCKING SHITTY VERMIN FUCK FUCK FUCK state of mind right now. My dear wife, sensing my fragile state of mind, kindly points out that even when I hit a deer with a car I still can't kill it. I'm thinking of borrowing a grenade launcher to go hunting with next year. And all in all I'm thinking that I should be grateful as hell that we were able to drive away from the whole experience.
Now I need to go find out how much it costs to replace a window.
Hey there, Southern Folks!
Just dammit....
However, it’s not what is in the document that surprises the reader – it’s what was left out. There presence of two elephants in their living room apparently escaped the notice of American’s top civilian and military leaders. Islamic radicalism does not receive any mention whatsoever in the American Defence Review and the threat posed by a nuclear Iran is mentioned in only one general sentence at the end of a document (page 101). To put this lack of discussion in proportion, contrast this non-discussion with other security issues mentioned in the document. For example, the security effects of climate change are highlighted and discussed in depth in eight pages of the document.
I would not have thought it possible that one could publish a book-length assessment of America’s security challenges and responses and NOT address the problem of Islamic radicalism or the Iranian bomb – but that’s just what Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mullen have done. From this one can draw one of two possible conclusions: these men are really, really stupid (not very likely), or they have deliberately minimised the current security threats to please the Obama administration and support the President’s desire to cut defence spending. The smart money is on the latter explanation.
How's all that Hopey-Changy kool-aid working for people now? You feel safer yet?
If we get attacked again, it will be because Obama the fucking communist allowed it to happen. Found here.

If Obama had any balls or spine
But because he's a gutless, spineless, balless fucking pussy who only sucks up to communists and dictators (redundancy alert), the people of Iran are getting no support from this Administration.
Let it be known that because American elected a god-damned communist pussy, freedom-seeking people around the world are not getting any support from us. People who want the same kinds of freedom we have are being beaten and shot in the streets of Tehran, and this country is just standing by and letting it happen without lifting a fucking finger. Not even a single fucking WORD of support from Obama the dictator-fellating fucknut.
And let that shame stain our souls until the day we die.
Who didn't see this coming?
President Barack Obama said he is “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000 as part of a broad effort to rein in the budget deficit.
Obama, in a Feb. 9 Oval Office interview, said that a presidential commission on thebudget needs to consider all options for reducing the deficit, including tax increases and cuts in spending on entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare.
Seriously, who didn't see this coming? If you honestly thought that Barack the Commie Obama wasn't going to raise your taxes, then you are a braindead fucking idiot. But I"m willing to bet that all those

One paragraph explains more than the writer thinks
And as John of ARGGHHH! says:
The funny part, I suspect, is that she thinks she's written something deep. The irony is that it just makes the shallow stand out more. Just as her hedonistic, self-centered outlook is encapsulated in how she chooses to describe her husband and his fellow tankers:
The part that made me sit up and go "Ah, well that explains a lot doesn't it?" was this:
I am married to a lithe, blue-eyed Marxist whose dissertation was on U.S. imperialism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a man who participated in war protests in Santa Cruz, Calif., during the winter I lived at Fort Knox. He has two children of his own -- bright, intense redheads, close in age to mine. I live with him in a tiny apartment in Manhattan, and when we can, we commute together to work. On weekends if we are not at a museum or movie together, we are at home right up next to each other.
Yep, that one paragraph explains more about the writer than she could ever imagine. Her previous husband has done more good for the world than her current husband could ever hope or dream for. I could spend an entire day just taking this piece apart and exposing what it says about the writer, but I've got snow to shovel. Still, if you can stomach it, go read it, because it's a visual definition of the "Me" generation.
Ten bucks says she voted for Obama.
Oh, and scrolling down the Linkiest, you get to THIS article, and I'm wondering if Hawkins and Co did it purposely or if it's just a coincidence: Wherefor Art Thou, Chivalry?
Let’s not be blinded by St. Valentine himself. A few secret admirers are sprouting up these days and chocolates may end up in my mailbox on the 14thof February, but I want to focus on the other 364 calendar days. Where did dinner at a nice restaurant go? Why are guys no longer lending a sweater when my arms get chilly? How come the term “first date” is becoming just as out-of-date as the Spice Girls’ famous “girl power” slogan?
Read the first article. Then read the second article. You want to know why chivalry is dying? Because men don't want to be chivalrous to a woman who will leave them for a "lithe, blue-eyed Marxist" when they're not getting laid enough. Chivalry died bit by bit as the practitioners of Chivalry were snubbed as antiquated, chauvinistic, and repressive. Chivalry died because modern society, through it's actions, told us that they didn't want it.
So deal with it. OR, and this is my preferred option, dig it up and bring it back to life. But it has to be through what you do, not what you say. It's the classic case of nice guys finishing last. If you truly give a shit about chivalry, why don't you pay a bit more attention to the guys who practice it?

Really, you douchebag?
Really? No, REALLY?
Hey Gibbs - your boss, the liberal Lord and Messiah, can't give a speech to SIXTH GRADERS without the Teleprompter of the United States leading him along, and you want to make fun of a woman who scribbled four lines on her hand for her speech?
Really?
Your boss, the Stuttering Jackass of Chicago, is calling for an end to partisan politics, and you're out there attacking the Vice Presidential nominee from the losing ticket.
Really?
Your boss, the Arrogant Asshole of Epic Failure, is sinking so fast in the polls that his own political party is pushing him away after just one year in office. He's making JIMMY FRIGGIN' CARTER look good, and you're attacking a woman who isn't running for any office.
Really?
You keep that up. Tell me how it works for you.
Another reason I refuse to watch Headline News
ENSLER: Well, I just think the idea that she doesn't believe in global warming is bizarre.
BEHAR: Every scientist at every note believes in it but Sarah Palin doesn't believe in it.
ENSLER: And I think we just kind of have to walk around the world at this point and look at what is happening to nature and earthquakes and tsunamis.
BEHAR: Right.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what passes for "intelligence" on the Left. Because the San Andreas Fault is all caused by Global Warming.
The Political Left - is there anything they've ever been right about? (pun intended!)

The Left's New Smear on American Soldiers
Gregory of Yardale at Moonbattery reports on The Left's New Smear on American Soldiers
Harper's Magazine has been promoting a conspiracy theory that American Soldiers at Gitmo are murdering jihadis and making them look like suicides. This smear on our troops has been promoted by left-wing hate sites like DailyKos, Firedoglake, the Demoncratic Underground, Crooks and Liars as well as AIDS-addled blogger Andrew Sullivan and the-blog-that-hates-my-guts.Because shoving tubes down the throats of terrorist war criminals on hunger strikes is torture... and NOT shoving tubes down the throats of terrorist war criminals on hunger strikes is torture.
Human Events examines Harper's allegations and finds them weak, at best, based on conjecture, inaccuracies and... oh yeah, an agenda to smear the military.

"He's got a Prompter when he's making a move on Michelle"
The more I see how Palin gets inside the Left's head, the more I like her just for that fact. Reagan's son is a smarmy little fuckstick. I'm actually ashamed of him, like "Oh god, that must have been the one or two genes that were a little.... recessive." No wonder the Leftoids love him. "Look! It's Reagan's son! And he's a limp-wristed fucking liberal pansy!"
Gah.
Then again, maybe of Headline News and CNN weren't such a bunch of liberal fucktards, they'd be garnering more viewers than Fox News' 3AM slot.

Indicative Mindsets
Um.....
Bubba, if you think one or two people can kill the Tea Party Movement, then you really had no clue what it was all about in the first place. The fact that you'll ascribe anything to a single speech given at a single event lets me know more about how you think than anything worthwhile.
And yet again....
This clueless fucking bitch can't go two feet without his precious teleprompter giving him directions, and even with his precious teleprompter he can't pronounce Corpsman right!
I'm actually pissed off right now. I'm pissed of that Obama the clueless, spineless, classless fuckhead can't be bothered to actually learn a bit about the military he leads, and I'm pissed off as all hell at the clueless, brainless, worthless fucking pieces of shit who voted for that simpering jackass. America won't die because of Obama, it'll die because all the people who VOTED for Obama are more than willing to vote for yet another empty suit.
Gah. I'm not in that good a mood right now.
Hey..... was there a game on yesterday?
Aw, who am I kidding - I was watching the Super Bowl from kickoff to final whistle. I wasn't rooting for either team, so I could just sit back and enjoy some damn good football. And up until the middle of the fourth quarter it was anybody's game. Once Manning was intercepted, that was it. Lights out. Congratulations, Saints.
By the way... that anti-abortion ad by Mommy Tebow and Little Timmy? I don't know if they worked it just right or what, but THAT was what all the shrieking was about? All the shrieking harpies and eunuchs were getting their panties in a knot over that? Boy, that says way more about them than they would ever normally admit in public, doesn't it?

OUT-FRIGGIN'-STANDING!
The Great Peasant Revolt and DADT
It's a good article all on it's own. But stay with me while I make a sudden turn here.
And what's unsaid in those arguments? What's the insinuation behind those words? By stating that you are afraid of gays, or a bigot, they're stating that they themselves are NOT. They might not understand the effects of repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, but by god they're no bigot like YOU, you knuckle-dragging homophobe!
If you're against the little guy, then that must mean that they're FOR the little guy! And they'll show just how much they're for the little guy by taking your money and giving it away! They don't need to understand the economic effects of their actions, they just get to feel better about themselves because they're for the little guy!
It's sheer arrogance. And it's undeserved arrogance. It eliminates the need to actually learn about a subject. In fact, if people were forced to take the time to actually learn about those subjects, they wouldn't be nearly as arrogant. It's a position that allows them to attack you as an individual rather than deal with the substance of the argument. And it's breathtakingly effective, based on how far they've pushed those arguments into the mainstream. Because instead of debating the actual topic, conservatives have spent far too much time proving that they're not a bigot, or they're not afraid.
Well fuck all that. Especially on the topic of Don't Ask Don't Tell, I have come to the point where I really don't give a shit what people think of me as a person. I'm tired of being insulted and called names by a bunch of pansy-assed pieces of shit who are advocating for something that they'll never have to clean up after,. It's risk-free gratification for them! "LOOK AT ME! I'M SO TOLERANT! I'M SO OPEN-MINDED! AND YOU ARE NOT!" They get to make themselves feel good and look good in public and they'll never have to deal with the consequences of what they propose. And so they use that undeserved arrogance to attack people who oppose them. Every debate boils down to "Oh, you're just scared" or "You're just a bigot!" or "You just need to get used to it!"
No, no, and no. If that's the best you've got, you need to go take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut. Damn near every argument they bring up boils down to personal attacks, because that's all they have left. And quite frankly, I'm tired of it.
"But gays are just like you!" - No, they are not. That one is simple. I'm attracted to women. He's attracted to men. That's a pretty big difference, if you ask me.
"Gays have just as much right to serve in the military as you do!" Nobody has a "right" to serve in the military. The military discriminates for a whole host of reasons, and all of those reasons boil down to producing as effective and cohesive a military as possible. Putting gay men with straight men in the same barracks room tends to pretty much obliterate that whole "cohesive" part, just like bunking men and women together would do as well.
"I get along with my gay co-workers, why can't the military?"
Here's my response to that from three years ago. Go enjoy.
Here's what Fred wrote about the same time. If my civilian supervisor is gay, and he's coming on to me, I can go home and get away from him. In the military, if my Squad Leader is gay, and he's coming on to me, he has the ability to control my every move from sun-up to sun-down. And you think problems won't occur?
Do you honestly think that when problems crop up, they won't affect everyone? "Hey bro, you see what happened in 4th Platoon? That shit could happen HERE too!" And drip by drip, the bond is eaten away.
"But Dave, there are gays in the military already!" Really? Do I know who they are? Here's the thing - if they're keeping their homosexuality under wraps, then the negative sexual dynamic does not exist. Imagine a hypothetical situation where a woman pretends to be a man. I know that it's far out there, but just work with me. She shows up every day with short hair, boobs strapped down with an ace bandage, and manages to make people think she's a guy. She is in effect hiding her sexuality.
What sexual dynamic exists at that point?
Now one day she walks into a barracks full of men who thinks that she's a man as well. She whips off her shirt, takes the bandage off, and says "SURPRISE! I'M A CHICK!"
What sexual dynamic exists at this new point?
Yes, it's a hypothetical situation, but it can very easily be a real one if Don't Ask Don't Tell is repealed.
Let's just go with basic, normal questions: Where do you bunk gay Soldiers? In a room with a straight Soldier? That's a violation of sexual privacy. In with other gay Soldiers? You now invite the kind of sexual hijinks that you're trying to avoid by keeping men and women separate. In with a straight Soldier of the opposite gender? Again, violation of sexual privacy, both for the straight AND the gay Soldier. The people advocating for the removal of DADT haven't even bothered to come up with a serious answer to THOSE questions, and that's just the tip of the iceberg if DADT is repealed and open homosexuality is allowed in the military. Which tells me that they're not thinking about what is best for the military, they just want to push their political agenda on the military so that they can feel better about themselves. If people can't be bothered to think about what's going to happen if the action they're pushing is taken, then I question their motives. Most the people I've debated have brushed it off with "Oh, well you'll just have to deal with it." Yes, yes I will, and not in a good way. "You'll think of something." Oh god, the arrogance of that statement makes me want to howl. "I'm going to force you to undertake an action that you do not want to do, and when all hell breaks lose and you're standing neck deep in shit, you'll just have to think of a solution while I stand over here keeping my manicured toenails clean."
Fuck. You.
There's been one or two people who have managed to ask me questions without insulting my intelligence or my constitution. Sergeant Mac comes to mind. But the rest of you? You're not going to get any kind of niceties from me.
Flame on!

Dredging up an old post at Velociman's
babblebabblebabbleshriekbabble
Back when I lived in Seattle (now home to the SLUT!) they wanted to build light rail. All the liberals wailed about how we needed more mass transit. Brainless liberals pontificated and pulled their beards (at least the women did, the liberal pussy men weren't allowed to grow a beard as it might offend the liberal women) and everyone muttered about how light rail just "needed to be done!" So they came up with a plan that would have run a light rail line from Seattle to....
Um..... well, kinda over here, and then it would end right there, but gosh, people would ride it! Uh huh!
The line would have gone from somewhere in Seattle to somewhere about a mile North of South Park Mall. It didn't go to the mall. It didn't go to the airport. It didn't go from one large city to another. It just meandered around without any real purpose other than to make liberals feel good about themselves, and it would have been as worthless as tits on a boar. Every mass transit plan not only ignored traffic flow, it couldn't have worked against it more if it tried! Look, have you ever looked at a map of the Puget Sound? You have Everett up North, then Seattle, then Tacoma, then Olympia, all in a straight North-South line with the suburbs and various cities in between. I-5 follows that line. All the massive traffic flow follows that line. Don't you think that if you wanted to build a successful public transit system that you MIGHT JUST WANT TO FOLLOW THAT FUCKING LINE?????????
I could have come up with a better light rail plan in half an hour. Just give me a map, some pushpins and a six pack of Guinness. "Build a station here, here, here, here, here, and over there. Connect all the stations with rail line. Build parking lots next to the stations, or better yet, build the stations as close to existing parking lots as possible. See Tacoma Dome for examples. Done. Now go get me some fucking dinner, ya fucking limp-wristed bitch!"
But that wouldn't have made the liberals FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL any better, and light rail is nothing more than a masturbatory exercise is self congratulations for liberals, so naturally they wouldn't have listened to me. Plus, by pushing forth a working plan, they couldn't suck Federal Dollars up like a crackwhore. And golly, they really wanted that money! And isn't it amazing how all that money disappeared with nothing to show for it? Hmmmmmmmmm!
Whenever you hear a liberal talking about how great light rail, or High Speed Rail is, just bitchslap them. Twice. And then don't waste another second with them.

Don't let me touch your computer
Whatever you do, don't let me touch your computer.

Secretary Gates, you are a fucking idiot.
It's time to repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy and allow gay troops to serve openly for the first time in history, the nation's top defense officials declared Tuesday, with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff proclaiming that service members should not be forced to "lie about who they are."
However, both Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen asked for a year to study the impact before Congress would lift the controversial policy.
So, I'll ask again - who's ready to change the rules and allow me to shower with and sleep in the same barracks room as the females? Anyone? Anybody? Funny, because when I proposed that to a hard-core lesbian she flipped her lid and called me a sexist pig. And when I asked her why she had that reaction, she sputtered and squawked and called me several names, none of which were fit for polite company, and stormed off.
If you are going to demand that I live in close quarters with someone who finds me sexually attractive, I demand the same courtesy. I like buxom redheads, but a brunette will do as well.
Anyone getting that little "Uh, um, well...." voice going in their head yet? There are enough problems related to sex in the military as it is. Why in the name of god do we want to add MORE of it? The same group that says we have to allow open homosexuality in the Army can't deny that sexual problems are on the rise in the military. One woman who was shrieking about the rate of sexual assaults in the Army literally could not grasp the concept that adding yet ANOTHER sexual dynamic to the mix would result in MORE sexual assaults. In the comments to this post at KisP, TUA states:
Our barracks were practically co-ed anyway, what with all the hetero-humping going on.
I remember I had one barracks roommate who’d boink her boyfriend while I attempted to sleep in my bunk a mere 10 feet away.
Truly unbelievably piggish behavior.
So the cure for that is more sex? I can't buy that. Not at all. The solution is to get the barracks bunny to stop schlepping her boyfriend in the barracks. Or at least make it socially unacceptable to fuck someone while your roomie is trying to sleep. Back when I was PFC Ragin' Dave, if someone wanted to keep his roommate awake with his sexual activities, the roommate responded with cameras and flashbulbs. Unless the girl was a real freak, she normally objected to the audience and ended the fuck session. Swinging open the door and yelling down the barracks hallway "HEY EVERYBODY! SO-AND-SO IS GETTING LAID! CHECK IT OUT!" was also a good way to end the session and get some sleep.
Never once did someone say "Gosh, you know what would fix this problem? Allowing open homosexuality in the military."
Look, ever since I re-enlisted many moons ago, every time I've gone to a training, school, or deployment I've had open bay barracks or open showers. There's no privacy at all. The last thing that would make that situation better is the introduction of a sexual dynamic. Sex and the military causes problems. Adding another layer of sexual dynamics on top of it will not make those problems go away, and will make things worse. We need to go in the opposite direction if we want to improve things.
Or, let me bunk and shower with a buxom redhead. But that'll never happen, and we all know why. So why are we going to put me in the same situation as that buxom redhead, and tell me to just live with it in the name of "fairness"? Because in the end, it's not fair at all.
Seen this yet?
How much more needs to be said? Exactly what else needs to be said in order to prove that our health care system is quite possibly the best in the world? The system that all the pro-government-take-over folks want to emulate is being shunned in favor of our "greedy, capitalist health care system"!
Oh, and let this be a lesson for everyone out there who hasn't quite come to grips with reality yet - if the government takes over our system, and it turns into a gigantic pile of crap, our politicians will be leaving the country or getting their health care from somewhere else, leaving us the citizens with substandard care while they get whatever the hell they want. Don't think they give a shit about you. They don't. They don't care if you live or die so long as you act like a good little sheeple and do whatever the hell they tell you to do.
Gah.

Prepare for economic downturn
Gee, that just makes me feel warm all over. I need more ammo.
The Botoxed Bimbo of San Fransicko
For non-military folks, the Class Six is the alcohol store for the military. It gets its name from the military classification of logistical supplies. Class One is subsistence, i.e. food. Class Nine is repair parts. Class Five is ammunition. And Class Six is "Personal Demand Items", otherwise known as Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
In any case, the corrupt, plastic-faced bitch of the House has been ferrying her entire family around on a military jet. That might be completely legal, according to House rules. But since Bela Pelosi and her hubby are worth at least 92 MILLION DOLLARS would it be too much to ask that maybe their kids and grandkids and other extended family simply fly first class on a commercial airplane? Because from what I see, The Brainless Harridan is using a huge government jet to ferry her family around at taxpayer expense for non-governmental reasons, and then turning right around and lecturing us on our carbon footprint. Oh, and sucking down enough booze to light up the entire crew of an aircraft carrier.
Most. Corrupt. Congress. EVAH.
In a just world, that worthless hag would be kicked out of office as soon as possible, not just for this but for every corrupt act she's undertaken over the past three years. For her lies about the CIA. For her lies about her lies about the CIA. Hell, just search the blog for all the various posts I've done about her. She's corrupt, she's power-hungry, she's a giant hypocrite, she's clueless on the international stage, and she's a national embarrassment every time she opens her mouth.

A little smoke
But I bet it's gonna taste DAMN good.
By the way, I'm enjoying the MacBook so far. Once you get the different controls figured out, it's pretty smooth. And the battery life on this bad boy is around five to seven hours depending on what you're using it for. Ohhhhh, yeah.

Changing my Religion
So I am now typing this from my brand new MacBook.
"But Dave, Windows 7 is gonna be so much better! They promise!" And that's what they said about Windows Vista. XP wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as Windows 98. Actually, Windows 98 was about the pinnacle of that platform, and it's been a slow and steady decline from there. Windows ME was flat out painful to use. But Vista took the cake. "Oh, but it's a new type of OS, you need to give it time!" Horseshit. If it wasn't ready to release, then don't release it. Don't use my cash to fund your beta testing. Vista was slower than XP, took up more memory, made my hard drive run like gangbusters, and froze up on a regular basis from trying to do common average functions. I don't run massive games. I don't run ten programs at once. And I don't download gigabytes of programs and expect them all to run perfectly. I do basic wordprocessing, some photo editing, and web browsing. That's it.
And don't even get my started on my work computer. I was fed the hell up. So now I have a Mac. It's going to take some time to get used to the different commands and functions. So long as it does the basic things I want done, I'll be happy.
Anyways, I'll report on it later.
Portland Auto Show
I can tell you Chrysler is doomed... GM is still clueless showing up with dozens of Cameros without really featuring their offerings. Kia, Hyundai and Ford showed up to sell and drew my attention, but I have a confession about a bit of misbehavior on my part when I wandered through the Toyota section.
You know those bling wielding faux-tan stock-broker looking salesmen that seem to dominate Toyota dealerships? Well one particularly stereo-typical bombast was pontificating about how he's 'never taken a counter offer on a Toyota in all his years of sales because Toyota just doesn't have to'...
No one projects their voice like that unless they are intending to 'share' their wisdom with the rest of us.
And I couldn't help myself. I piped up, in my loudest syrupiest voice, "you don't RECALL ever taking a counter offer ever? Ever? I'm surprised you can't RECALL taking a counter as I myself can RECALL making a counter on a Toyota."
And every time I said "RECALL" I squawked it out...
My wife accelerated out of there like... well like a Toyota with a sticking gas pedal.

I give up
Fuck this shit. I've got better things to do than fuck around with a worthless platform that doesn't do a damn thing it's supposed to do. I'm going to be looking for some other way to blog, because I am fed up with this crap.

The End Result
I might expound on this tomorrow. Then again, if I can't get the comments to show up on the front page, I might just delete this fucking blog. I don't know for sure. We'll see how I feel after I shovel snow in the morning.
I think I hate Blogsnot
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............................
Oh, and by the way, I'd like to say that the Blogsnot comments suck ten different kinds of dead donkey dick, but since I can't get THOSE to work either, I really wouldn't know. What the fuck was wrong with the original settings? No, I couldn't just keep those, this worthless fucking piece of shit demands that I change to a new fucking template, and new fucking settings, only all that spiffy new fucking shit DOES NOT FUCKING WORK! IT IS A GIANT CRAPTASTIC PIECE OF SHIT THAT DOES NOT FUCKING WORK! FUCK YOU, BLOG SPOT! FUCK YOU STRAIGHT TO HELL!

Another busy day
I know, I know, big tough Ragin' Dave likes da widdle animals. So sue me. Some days I'd prefer the company of a dog to the company of anyone else. "If you take in a dog, feed him, and treat him well he will not bite you. That is the principal difference between a dog and a man" - Mark Twain. Given that our life makes it difficult to have a dog right now, we're getting ferrets. We've had ferrets before, and I actually love the little buggers. If you ever want to see just a pure expression of joy, watch ferrets as they're dancing around and playing. Kind of like a dog rolling in the grass on a summer day. Just simple joy.
Dinner at a Mongolian BBQ joint that we had friends recommend to us - Hu Hot. Good food, and the staff there rocks. For those who don't know, the Ragin' Mrs. has some pretty severe food allergies that make it difficult for us to go out to eat at most places. This place, when we say "Hey, she's got some food allergies, could you please make sure her food doesn't touch anyone else's?", they actually scrape the grill clean (as in down to the bare metal clean), pull out new spatulas, and cook her food as separately as they can.
Out-friggin'-standing! Needless to say, we'll be going back. Multiple times.
As for today, we're going over to a friend's place to watch some football in the company of good people. So with that, I leave you with a winter photo:

Another Modern Miracle
The poncho liner.
The Army issued me a sleeping bag system that includes three different bags that you can mix and match depending on the climate and weather. It's a wonderful system. But I put it in it's stuff sack and left it in the duffel bag, because I had the poncho liner. I would just lay it out, put my neck pillow down, lay a picture of my wife next to the pillow, and that would be all I needed. They gave me an actual mattress when we were in Camp Phoenix, so I just laid it out on that.
The poncho liner can be rolled into a ball roughly the size of my two fists if you really crank down on it, and it'll unroll to it's full size without a problem. It'll keep you warm in anything above freezing temperatures, and if you throw on a layer or two it'll keep you warm when it's colder than that. I can't count the number of times I've left my sleeping back behind and just carried my poncho and poncho liner in my ruck. Lay out the poncho, lay the poncho liner on top, lay yourself in the middle and then wrap up like one big Soldier burrito. You stay warm and dry all night long.
The picture of my wife is something that she came up with years ago. You can buy iron-on transfers that you run through your home printer (another modern miracle! Anyone remember those old mimeograph machines?), and then you slap 'em on a shirt, or on whatever. Well, she printed out a picture of herself and ironed it onto a white hankerchief, and gave it to me for Operation Brightstar. If it gets crinkled you just smooth it out, you can wash it and it doesn't die, and there's no glass to break. It goes everywhere with me so that I always have my wife no matter where I go.
Speaking of Camp Phoenix, this is a picture of Patriot Square at night.
It's about 3.5MB if you want to download it. The DFAC at Phoenix has the flags of our coalition partners up in front of it. The plaques on the wall behind the flags are the unit crests of the various US Army units that have been in charge of Camp Phoenix. You can't see them in this picture, but further down the wall are plaques for the various other countries that have served with us at Phoenix. When I was there it was the Bulgarians and Romanians.
And I made sure that nobody could recognize the guy walking by the flags.
So there you are. Two photos from my mission, and another modern miracle. The Ragin' Mrs. and I are headed down to Mad Town today to see if we can't rescue a few ferrets. Updates on that later. See you tomorrow!

Modern Miracles
I remember my first camera. It was an old Kodak 110 film using brick. Hell, even my first Nikon SLR would be archaic by today's standards. Nowadays if you can't download the picture instantly onto a computer then it's just not worth having. Hell, I used to use an old digital camera for my job in Seattle, and it was a snazzy, high-speed (for the time) 3.5 megapixel behemoth. These days you can get a cell phone with a 4 mp camera in it. Hell, these days a cell phone with any camera LESS than 4 mexapixels doesn't sell.
You push a button. The image is transferred into a bunch of ones and zeros. Those ones and zeros fly through the air to a box thousands of miles away, where they reassemble themselves into the very same image you just saw. I can take a picture in Afghanistan, email it to my family, and they can see what I see in less than five minutes.
People, that's a fucking miracle right there.
What modern miracles can you think of?
How do you know when you've "made" it in the Blogosphere?
I gotta find a way to get Day by Day up on this'un here.

The Government. Is there anything they can't screw up?
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Food handouts were shut off Tuesday to thousands of people at a tent city here when the main U.S. aid agency said the Army should not be distributing the packages.
It was not known whether the action reflected a high-level policy decision at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) or confusion in a city where dozens of entities are involved in aid efforts.
"We are not supposed to get rations unless approved by AID," Maj. Larry Jordan said.
Jordan said that approval was revoked; water was not included in the USAID decision, so the troops continued to hand out bottles of water. The State Department and USAID did not respond to requests for comment.
And by the way, France calling us "occupiers"? You might want to tone that rhetoric down a bit, considering we're delivering aid to a country that speaks French due to the centuries of French occupation. Or perhaps the French would like to show us just how much aid and help they can send to Haiti? No? The 82nd Airborne Division is doing just fine? Ce magnifique!
Unreal
Earlier today Denis Blair, Director of National Intelligence testified at a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing into the Christmas Day Bomb plot that the bomber should have been placed in the administration's interrogation program for high-value suspects but wasn't.
(.....)
Tonight via Keep America Safe we find out that the DNI Blair has changed his story.
Go ahead and read it all. And then understand that the only thing protecting Americans while they fly is 20-something-year-old Dutch tourists. It is most certainly NOT the people in the American government who are supposed to be making sure we don't have exploding planes and flaming bodyparts falling from the sky.
What a clusterfuck. What an absolutely horrifying clusterfuck of galactic proportion. If I had an employee that was THIS FUCKING INCOMPETENT, I'd fire them as soon as possible.

A Note of Caution
Forget it, Jack.
The GOP is still the Stupid Party. It's still the party of Dede Scozzafava, and David Frum. It's still the party of "Me Too, Only Not As Much." It's still the same party of mouth-breathing "intellectuals" who breathlessly voted for Obama and everything he represented. Until the RINOs are removed and the same mindset that's lifting the Tea Party gets put in charge, the GOP is still a sinking ship. The only difference between the Stupid Party and the American Communist Party is that the GOP can still be saved.
I LOLed!

Of course, if you speak German (or even understand a smattering of German) a bit of the effect is lost, but I still LOLed nontheless.

Coakley Makes Brown
Copenhagen to lose the Olympics? Copenhagen to lose Cap & Trade? Coakley to lose the Senate?
Now Obambi has lost Barney's Frank.
"It all started with me, my truck, and a few dedicated volunteers. It ended with Air Force One making an emergency run to Logan" -- Scott Brown(R)But the quote that made it all worthwhile?
"This one’s for you, Mary Jo." -- Rush LimbaughOlbermann, Maddow, Sullivan and Josh Marshall are melting down... and Nancy Pelosi(D) is promising to double down.
It is such a good day.

Dumb blonde?
Jessica Simpson is the smartest woman in showbusiness right now.
No, seriously, think about it! Here is a woman who has made her entire movie career off of her boobs and butt. And yet she's never once shown either of them in their full, bare, beautiful entirety.
That takes brains. Prove me wrong.
Houston, we have a problem
Togo West used to be the Secretary of the friggin' Army, people. You want to know why political correctness is killing the military? Because we had idiotic cumstains like Togo West in charge.

Anti-Theists?
By the way, all you evangelical atheists who are puffing out your chest because you pushed for governmental aid to Haiti? "Oh, look at us! Aren't we so nice? Aren't we so helpful? We're so COMPASSIONATE!" There were at least three local churches who had people in Haiti when the quake struck, building schools and trying to help the people there. They didn't wait for some natural disaster to advocate for spending other people's money in aid, they spent their own money, and used their own time and labor to help people out.
By the way, there's a book out there titled "How the Irish Saved Civilization" that correlates the spread of Christianity by the Irish to the spread of civilization in Europe. It's well worth the money if you're into history like I am. You don't have to be Christian to understand the effect it had on the world.

TROOPERS issue automatic weapons and magazines to a long line of mine workers. The miners lock and load like the redblooded redneck NRA supporters they are.
BLASTING TECHS are setting radio-detonated primer charges into two-ton stacks of EXPLOSIVE COMPOUND. The stacks are band-strapped together on pallets.
TRACKING WITH SELFRIDGE, staring around him in growing dismay as he walks through the full-scale mobilization. He approaches Quaritch, who is barking orders amid a hive of activity around the ampsuits.
Fuck you, Jimmy Boy. If the NRA and it's supporters were the villains that so many people like you claim, all you limp-wristed liberal pussies would be dead and gone by now. But you're still here, and still insulting us, and nary a shot has been fired. So really, what's that say about us vs. you?

On second thought
Haitians are using dead bodies to make roadblocks. And why? Get this - because they're upset about the level of help they're getting.
......
I deleted that rant because it was a bit over the top even for me. However, let me just give you the gist of it, shall I?
Haiti is a fourth-world, corrupt, thug-ridden shithole, and we need to let it sink. And that's harsh. Extremely harsh. But continuing to pump money and aid into Haiti is like keeping a terminal cancer patient alive but not doing anything about the cancer. You're only prolonging the agony. And to pull Haiti into the 20th Century (not even into the 21st Century) would require an output of time, money, effort and troops that America isn't willing to give.
So there it is. Turn the Navy ships around. The the rest of the world, who regularly castigates America is the great Satanic beast, show us just how compassionate they are by how they deal with Haiti.
I await the hate mail.
Crack smoker!
He's smoking crack.
Wait, wait, wait, let me back up a bit. I mean, there is a reason I call the GOP the Stupid Party, after all. There might just be a chance that he is indeed the GOP front runner for 2012. In which case, this country as we know it is dead, and we can count on a nice civil war for a few years after 2012, because there's no way in hell Gingrich can win the election.
Gah. I need more ammo.

Random Thoughts
Good thing I live in Wisconsin.
Pete Carrol, USC and my Seahawks
Say what?
Hey, can someone tell me how Pete Carrol did in the NFL as coach of the NY Jets and New England Patriots? Oh, right. Mediocre at best, and fired from both teams. He might be a great collage coach, but he's a proven loser in the NFL. Oh, and how friggin' conVEENient that he's hired by Seattle just as more allegations of fraud and misconduct are arising at USC. Hey, that's exactly the kind of coach we need in Seattle!
Look, I don't think Jim Mora was the next coming of Bill Walsh, but between injuries and piss poor personnel decisions, he was handed an absolute ball of shit in the Seahawks, and he did the best he could with them. Firing him after one year was a stupid decision. Hiring Pete Carrol was another stupid decision. From what I can see, the Seahawks are doomed to be no more than an 8-8 team for the next decade. I don't see any improvement coming down the pike. although I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this one.
Gah. You know what? Sometimes, your team isn't worth supporting anymore. I think the Seahawks are going in reverse.
Dude, where are my comments?
UPDATE: OK, maybe the comments aren't coming on at all. Hmmmmmm...... maybe I'll need to upgrade that template sooner than I thought.

Where was I? Afghanistan. So you'll understand why I couldn't exactly post on a regular basis. Any internet time I got was devoted to family and a few other emails.
Yes, I have pictures.
No, I'm not going to put them up right now.

Michael Yon and Joan Rivers fall victim to enhanced security...
“Homeland Security is a Joke.”The TSA... I can't wait until Government runs Healthcare...
Milblogger/independent war correspondent extraordinaire Michael Yon reports that he was stopped at Sea-Tac airport and handcuffed by TSA agents:...
Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not “arrested”, but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eventually came — they were professionals — and rescued me from the border bullies.
Rivers, 76, was deemed a danger to national security and booted from a Newark-bound flight in Costa Rica on Sunday ...
...
“If I were going to make up an alias, I wouldn’t pick Rosenberg. I’d pick Jolie or Pitt,” said Rivers, back home Monday in New York with her sense of humor intact. “Do terrorists wear Manolo Blahniks? I can tell you Donna Karan does not make anything that hides a bomb,” she said.
The real scandal? The mistake of indulging "Shoe Bomber" Richard Reid with a civilian trial was corrected by Congress & Bush making the Obama/Holder rejection of those policies much more then simply an unforced error. In the face of the evidence Barack Hussein Obama is insisting on ignoring the intelligence value of a Jihadist war criminal spouting "there are more like me" rendering his delusional policy criminally negligent and un-democratic as it also ignores the 'Will of the People' as expressed in recent polls showing a huge majority of Americans would like to see the panty bomber waterboarded.
The unreal hypocrisy? Barack Hussein Obama claims ignoring the Jihadists' intent, and granting them the rights of American citizens, will undermine their will which ignores the fact that America endured decades of Islamofascist terror while treating the onslaught as a "law enforcement" issue. But to make this claim while Barack Hussein Obama uses robotic drone aircraft to launch missile attacks on Jihadists hiding behind their families demonstrates that Barack Hussein Obama is the foulest form of hypocrit as he clearly does not believe in the policies which place American citizens in harms way.
Why aren't we appointing tax-payer funded lawyers to the Jihadists before we blow to them to bits? Aren't we in fact 'damaging America's standing in the world'? Aren't we simply providing the Jihadists with a 'reason' that enhances recruiting?
Barack Hussein Obama was against the Iraq war, before he was for it... was against the "surge" in Iraq before, during and after it worked... was for the "surge" (that shall not be called a surge) in Afghanistan before he dithered for 12 months allowing hundreds of American soldiers to die... all of which demonstrates that he is not interested in the facts but only in advancing his ideology.
An ideology so morally bankrupt it sends Americans overseas to die to protect a foreign war criminal's right to American citizenship.
Please... someone explain to me exactly what else Barack Hussein Obama can do for the Jihad? Is there anything he's overlooked? Bow to the King of Saudi Arabia, check. Send protesters against Israel to Gaza, check. Undermine democracy protesters in Iran, check. Dither until Iran gets nuclear weapons, check. Undermine Afghanistan, check. Throw away Iraq... Hhhmmm... I guess that one is still in the planning stages.

Homeland security is just doing a swell job!
When the father of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab reported to the Abuja Embassy that his son had formed radical views, disappeared and might have traveled to Yemen, he gave us all the tools we needed to prevent what happened Christmas day on flight Northwest 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit. Unfortunately our officials did not see fit to add him to the "do not fly" list or revoke his visa. They merely red flagged his file so that there would be investigation if he applied for a new visa. This meant no flags were raised when he used cash to buy a ticket to the United States and boarded a plane, checking no bags.
I am not surprised that the Obama administration is trying to pass this off as "a test that the air safety system passed."
What I find astounding is that passengers out of Amsterdam that are bound to the U.S. A. are not only not required, but not allowed the same security precautions as passengers bound to other countries due to "privacy issues".
But counterterrorism experts and members of Congress were hardly willing to praise what they said was a security system that had proved to be not nimble enough to respond to the ever-creative techniques devised by would-be terrorists.I think they are giving terrorist too much credit and not using their own brain cells. These terrorists are not using new technology or modes of operation, they are still doing the same things that we are not allowed to profile them on. It feels a bit like our government wants another 9/11, but that would be silly, wouldn't it????

I find great interest in the companies paying back the bailout money, like Citigroup, because there are too many strings attached. I find great humor in the other companies having pressure put on them to pay back the bail out.

Health care and drugs, where will we get them?
As members of Congress before last year’s election, President Obama and his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, supported efforts to allow drug imports. But now the Obama administration, like pharmaceutical companies and the Bush administration, is raising safety concerns.
I really have to say thank you pharmaceutical companies. As much as I don't like business and government mixing, I am grateful that it looks like all prescription medications will be from the USA, if this bill passes(I am still being optimistic that it might not). I know that there are people in this country that out of pure desperation will look to Canada, Mexico and other sources to get their prescription medications. Though with certain stores carrying generics for $4.00 that is hardly necessary for most people. I really don't know much about Canada's safeties on such things, but Mexico???? Heck if I had my way these things wouldn't even be made in our protectorates and territories.
But, as we have watched this tennis game we know the score is constantly changing with corruption on its side.
Will Missouri "Nullify" federal gun laws?
I understand the theory behind this. I believe it to be similar to the states that have told the Federal Government to stop overreaching or we will go our own direction. Though my question is does it hold any weight? Will this actually be effective or will the Federal Government just say whatever, we will do what we like?
I am looking at the current trend of states attempting to tell the Federal Government where to go and I find myself questioning if we will have a civil war, or if the states will just start breaking off one by one.
Government taking more control away from parents
An international human rights organization today announced it will pursue a civil lawsuit on behalf of parents who want to control their children's education and withhold them from explicit sex education and play-acting classes required by the German government.
Yes I am aware that this is in Germany where fathers are being jailed rather than letting the states give their children sex ed. Unfortunately with all that we know about the "safe school czar" Kevin Jennings, the more I think this is not as far from home as some would like to think.

Quote of the Day
The Democrats are whores with AIDS and three kinds of clap. The Republicans are whores with three kinds of clap. You can cure the clap with wide spectrum antibiotics. There ain't nothing you can do about AIDS but keep well back.
The question, continuing to riff on the analogy, is whether or not the whore is worth curing.
Ayup.
But why a spoon, Cousin?
Those, dear friends, are the clumsy fingerprints of someone messing with the data Egyptian style … they are indisputable evidence that the “homogenized” data has been changed to fit someone’s preconceptions about whether the earth is warming.
One thing is clear from this. People who say that “Climategate was only about scientists behaving badly, but the data is OK” are wrong. At least one part of the data is bad, too. The Smoking Gun for that statement is at Darwin Zero.

Here come the Death Panels
The eligibility age for state-subsidized breast cancer screening has been raised from 40 to 50 by the California Health and Human Services Agency, which will also temporarily stop enrollment in the breast cancer screening program.
Hey, how are you enjoying that free government health care, folks? Oh, you want to go home, be taken care of in home and save the government money? Sorry, you can't do that either.
Democrats voted to cut Medicare’s home health care budget by 13 percent over the next 10 years. The next time that I hear a Democrat say that there won’t be a cut in benefits as a result of them cutting Medicare by $467,000,000,000, I’m gonna get in their face and tell them that they’re lying through their teeth. Then I’m gonna read them the riot act. THEN I’m gonna get nasty. But don't worry, the government's going to take care of you! No change in benefits! No new taxes! Trust the government, you little upstart minion! You're just there to provide funds to the government anyway! The notion that the Democratic Party is the protector of the elderly, the downtrodden and the people who’ve fallen through the cracks is BS. They’re cutting the most efficient part of Medicare and the part that has the most positive impact on families.
I’ll lay this out as succinctly as I know how. Medicare’s home care programs save money, lots of it. It also helps people live their last days in dignity. And the Democrats just voted to slash their budgets by 14 percent over the next decade.
Shall I go get the tar and feathers now?

Oh, wait....
Of all the things the Teleprompter Jesus has done, ignoring the Iranian protesters is one of the vilest things. We're watching freedom try to live, and Obama wants it to die.
Just like he wanted freedom in Honduras to die.
It used to be that American Presidents did their best to spread freedom and prosperity around the globe. Obama spreads slavery and statism. And I hope he burns in hell for it.

December 7th
Back when I was a young'n, my father was stationed on Oahu. I remember being about eight when Dad took us to the USS Arizona memorial. There's still oil coming up from the Arizona, in tiny little drops, blossoming into rainbow circles on the water's surface.
The Arizona is treated as a tomb, which it is. There's a reverence in the way the Memorial staff treat the site, and they expect the same from the visitors.
Pearl Harbor happened because America was not ready to go to war. It wasn't that we weren't aware of what was going on - we as a country knew that by cutting off oil supplies to Imperialistic Japan, we were poking a hornet's nest. We had volunteers fighting against Japan in China. Roosevelt had the Lend/Lease program going with Great Britain. But we were officially not-at-war, while the world went to hell in a handbasket. Jews were being herded into gas chambers while pacifists at home and abroad screamed that we must make peace with our enemies. And so we sat around with our thumbs up our ass. Until December 7th. And then we wept.
Appeasing bullies only makes the bullies stronger. You cannot stop a madman by ignoring him. Hope isn't enough to stop a genocidal dictator. These lessons should have been pounded into everyone's head. And for a while, they were. But not anymore. I thought that September 11th would be stuck in people's heads for a while, but obviously not.
I fear the next September 11th. I fear the next December 7th.
A good primer
I normally get blank stares at that point. And when I tell them that it used to be warm enough for the Vikings to farm Greenland but now it's too cold to do so, I get more blank stares. When I point out that they used to be able to grow grapes for wine in England, and that hasn't happened in centuries because it's been too cold, people start getting upset. At me. And when I start talking about the Little Ice Age and it's affect on Europe, they get openly hostile.
It's their religion, you see. And I just used some plain, simple facts to knock it down.
Look, I'm not a scientist. I read these reports, and I have to go over them two, three, four times to make sense of the data, simply because I'm not trained in reading straight data and understanding it immediately. It takes me some time. And I'm not the only one in America who's like this, OK? Give me a five paragraph Op-Order and I can pull relevant information out quicker than you can blink, but charts with multiple data sources and equations and formulas take me a while.
But once it's been digested, I can condense it down into simple terms and use it. I'm not the best communicator, but I can get my point across. Talk about tree rings and ice core samples and a lot of people's eyes start to glaze over. They become disinterested. But mention the fact that the Vikings used to have farming communities in Greenland, and that it's been too cold to have those farms for about a thousand years, and people's ears perk up. They can relate to farming, most of them, even if the only farm they've ever been on was a 10X10 garden plot. It's something they can understand. Mention that the Little Ice Age was one of the contributing factors to the Black Plague, and people start listening. It's something they can understand.
I'm willing to bet that most folks still couldn't tell you exactly what the lies are in the CRU data. But at least now they know they've been lied to. That's the first step. Reading the American Thinker piece would be a good second step.
Oh, for Pete's sake....
In June, McChrystal noted, he had arrived in Afghanistan and set about fulfilling his assignment. His lean face, hovering on the screen at the end of the table, was replaced by a mission statement on a slide: "Defeat the Taliban. Secure the Population."
"Is that really what you think your mission is?" one of those in the Situation Room asked.
On the face of it, it was impossible -- the Taliban were part of the fabric of the Pashtun belt of southern Afghanistan, culturally if not ideologically supported by a significant part of the population. "We don't need to do that," Gates said, according to a participant. "That's an open-ended, forever commitment."
But that was precisely his mission, McChrystal responded, and it was enshrined in the Strategic Implementation Plan -- the execution orders for the March strategy, written by the NSC staff.
"I wouldn't say there was quite a 'whoa' moment," a senior defense official said of the reaction around the table. "It was just sort of a recognition that, 'Duh, that's what, in effect, the commander understands he's been told to do.' Everybody said, 'He's right.' "
"It was clear that Stan took a very literal interpretation of the intent" of the NSC document, said Jones, who had signed the orders himself. "I'm not sure that in his position I wouldn't have done the same thing, as a military commander." But what McChrystal created in his assessment "was obviously something much bigger and more longer-lasting . . . than we had intended."
This is what you get for promoting Amateur Hour in the White House. This is what you get when you put an empty suit in charge of the military. This is what you get when a "community organizer" plays grown-up. As Allahpundit at Hot Air states:
So it goes for our supposedly Spock-like president, who made such a pageant during the the past three months of deliberating over Afghanistan lest he waste time and lives by rashly adopting the wrong strategy. He wanted to show his commitment to the war early on, so he installed McChrystal, handed him 22,000 extra troops, stuck him with orders he either didn’t think carefully about or didn’t believe were feasible (Bush-lite?), and then forgot about it for half a year while he went off to chase his health-care dreams. Even more surreally, the only way McChrystal could have misunderstood the orders is if he’d had so little contact with people at the top — Obama, Gates, and Jones — that the occasion never arose for them to clarify that “defeat the Taliban” actually meant “degrade the Taliban.” Remember in September when he said he’d only had one teleconference with The One since taking over in Afghanistan in June? I guess this is the result. Question: How come closing Gitmo was such an urgent priority that Obama sent down the word literally two days after his inauguration, but appointing McChrystal and getting him started on a full strategic review — which would necessarily take weeks — had to wait until late March?
At this point I want to find all the frikkin' Obama voters and just ask them "Hey, why do you hate the military so much? Did we not live up to your expectations or something? Why would you do this to us?" But that might lead to me beating at least one of them to death with their own limbs, so it might be better for me if I didn't do that. But still..... the incompetence of the Obama administration is on display here yet again. There isn't a damn thing they've gotten right.
Riddle me this: Just what the hell am I supposed to say to a Soldier getting shipped to Afghanistan, when we both know that that the Commander in Chief is nothing more than a brainless idiot who's completely incapable of performing his duties as such?

Bama-Texas
Remember last year? Utah, winner of the Mountain West division, undefeated all season, and the voters poo-pooed the team. Until they rolled up Alabama like a cheap suit and dunked them into the trash during the Sugar Bowl. Tore Bama a new asshole in that game. And the kicker? The kicker is that after many of the BCS voters watched Utah dismantle Alabama, they admitted that they hadn't even watched any Utah games before they voted to keep Utah out of the title game.
I got ten bucks that says TCU, Cincy and BSU were ignored this year as well. It's going to keep happening until the BCS is finally abolished and thrown away like it should be. Texas could barely beat Nebraska.
Dude. Nebraska. And Texas won by ONE POINT. Are you serious? And you want to call yourself one of the top two teams in the country?
Gah.
