I debated about posting this because I have very little sympathy for criminals. It talks about how Illinois prisoners are fed an EXTREMELY high Soy diet. This was started by Blago and implemented by the Illinois Prison system and supplied by one of his biggest supporters, Archer Daniel Midlands.

Quite honestly I can see the benefit to feminizing male prisoners, less muscle, less strength, more mood swings....

But, as someone who suffers from food allergies I do find this cruel and unusual punishment. Unfortunately if you look at most prepared foods it is next to impossible to find them without some form of soy. It is even harder than finding gluten free or corn free foods, and that it very difficult. Though my bigger issue is what is in MRE's and other food that is being fed to our Armed Forces. These are the people that need all of their muscle, to be in top form, and can't afford those extra mood swings.

Senate Majority Leader cancells October recess to punish our elected officials and bully them into passing health care reform.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has cancelled the Senate’s Columbus Day recess so that lawmakers can focus on passing healthcare reform legislation during the week of Oct. 12.

This is the same man that won't decide on a public option until he sees the final draft. Is he in support of the BO's government control? Does he want to look like he supports BO's plan even though he secretly fears it? Is he in support of leaving the health care the way it is?

Currently the new deadline for health care reform is Thanksgiving. I say we may it when we get the next POTUS, so it can be VETO'd!

All three networks and major print outlets covered the development, with the CBS Evening News concluding that the "public insurance option seems all but dead in the Senate," and the AP reporting that "liberal Democrats twice failed on Tuesday to inject a government-run insurance option into sweeping health care legislation taking shape in the Senate."

Here's my beef with Rod Dreher

In his Dallas News editorial denouncing Glenn Beck:

There are conservatives who know perfectly well that Beck is an unhinged buffoon who traffics in crude, ridiculous ideas. But unlike the hapless GOP, he's popular and effective in the political war against Obama. So these conservative cynics adopt a "no enemies to the right" approach to Beck, even though he's mainstreaming the ooga-booga worldview of a crank prophet who believed, with the John Birch Society, that Eisenhower was a closet commie.

This is foolish. Not every enemy of Obama is a friend to conservatism. In 1962, in a time when conservatives needed all the help they could get, William F. Buckley nevertheless published in National Review a lengthy denunciation of paranoid Bircher Robert Welch. How long, Buckley asked, can the right tolerate his malicious gibberish without losing credibility? National Review eventually sidelined the Birchers for good over their "psychosis of conspiracy," thus doing the right an enormous service by making conservatism more credible with the American mainstream.

Where the hell are the "credentialed" conservatives in this fight? Oh, right, they're at NRO making disparaging remarks about Sarah Palin or any other conservative that isn't part of some elite Beltway country club. In fact, out of all the conservative think tanks and groups that are out there, have any of them had as much an effect as Glenn Beck? Anybody? I mean, I more than willing to step back and admit when I'm wrong, and if someone out there can point me to someone who's done more than Glenn Beck, show them to me. Point them out. Andrew Breitbart and Big Government helped expose ACORN, but Glenn Beck was railing against ACORN as well. And Glenn Beck helped push the Big Government ACORN expose on national TV.

Without Beck the far left would not have been exposed.

Many would undoubtedly have liked it to be different but the FrontPageMag editor is right. Beck is the only national figure willing to take on the extreme left and to prove that Obama has ties to them and may even be one of them.

That’s it; it is time for conservatives to stop criticizing Beck and to give him credit for helping the conservative movement take on the most progressive individuals ever to be in charge of the most powerful country on earth.

Unemployment rate for young Americans at 52.2%!!!! What the hell?

The unemployment rate for young Americans has exploded to 52.2 percent -- a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Dept. -- meaning millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be diminished and, combined with the predicted slow economic recovery, their transition into productive members of society could be put on hold for an extended period of time.

And worse, without a clear economic recovery plan aimed at creating entry-level jobs, the odds of many of these young adults -- aged 16 to 24, excluding students -- getting a job and moving out of their parents' houses are long. Young workers have been among the hardest hit during the current recession -- in which a total of 9.5 million jobs have been lost.

Isn't that an age group that overwhelmingly went for Obama? I'm too lazy to check right now, but if it is then they've gotten the change they voted for. They might not have wanted it, or even known what they were getting, but they are getting exactly what they voted for.

A study from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, a government database, said the damage to a new career by a recession can last 15 years. And if young Americans are not working and becoming productive members of society, they are less likely to make major purchases -- from cars to homes -- thus putting the US economy further behind the eight ball.

Angrisani said he believes that Obama's economic team, led by Larry Summers, has a blind spot for small business because no senior member of the team -- dominated by academics and veterans of big business -- has ever started and grown a business.

This really is all about a tit-for-tat trade war brought on by a tariff on Chinese made tires being raised. I still find it amusing. At this time I would be perfectly happy if we would just stop purchasing anything from China. Really after the baby formula, dog food, toothpaste and the children's dolls with lead paint, I find it hard to believe these were mere accidents. I really think the Chinese are trying to kill us. Unfortunately there are enough people that will look at the price tag and not where it was made, just to save a buck. Do you have any idea of how many of our consumables, things we put in our bodies, are made in China? I do, because I won't buy them. I occasionally begrudgingly buy clothing, like shoes, made in China, only because there are no other reasonable options. I am always elated when I find an item that I expect to be made in China is made in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Tiwan, Korea or another place that is not trying to kill us.

The Mrs. and I were out on a motorcycle ride today, and it was getting on to supper time so we were on the lookout for a place to eat. I saw the big "RED LION PUB" sign and had to hit the brakes. We pulled in not quite knowing what to expect since we were in a tiny little town. Would it be good? Bad? So-so? Would it at least feed us well?

Oh. My. Goodness.

We walked in, and they had a beer list at least 100 beers. They claim to have 80 imports. I didn't count, because after finding the Old Rasputin Stout I didn't care how many they had, I'd found the beer I wanted. The Mrs. had the fish and chips (Dusted, which means splashed with whiskey, rolled in spices and then fried) and I had the Toad in a Hole (sausages, mash, and gravy over Yorkshire Pudding). Holymoly. The food was so good we forgot we even had beers sitting in front of us. For the next ten minutes the Mrs. and I were stuffing our faces and muttering "Oh damn this is good! Here, try this! Doesn't it just melt in your mouth? Ooooo, I want a piece of THAT!" We were having foodgasms.

After dinner, we sat there belching, and I decided that since we were stuffed full of good food and good beer, it was only fitting that we had dessert. So we had the spotted dick with vanilla ice cream.

Did I mention the huge beer list? I did? Good.

All in all we stuffed ourselves, consumed damn good beer and all at a price that didn't kill our wallet. In fact, for the quality of food that we got it was a hell of a deal. The food was so damn good that after dinner all the Mrs. and I could to was sit there, belching quietly and smiling at each other. It's not just a restaurant that we might hit if we go back, this is a restaurant that we'll plan a trip around visiting.

They have Indian food too.

If you're in the area, stop there and eat. You won't be sorry.

Canada is working on an amendment to their Immigration and Refugee Protection act to allow other countries' military deserters to stay in Canada if their refusal to serve is based on sincere moral, political or religious objections.

This includes ours. During Vietnam many draft dodgers went to Canada and were given permanent residency and eventually Citizenship. Now our Armed Services are all VOLUNTARY. So this means people that have signed up for the money, college benefits, medical, aka "Private Benjamin's Army" can skip out on what they voluntarily signed up for and essentially take our Armed Forces for a financial ride.

I do find an up side to this. This means that we have some yellow bellied AWOL deserters who become someone elses problem. Maybe we do benefit...

Obama science czar John Holdren stated in a college textbook he co-authored that in conditions of emergency, compulsory abortion would be sustainable under the U.S. Constitution, even with Supreme Court review.

WND has obtained a copy of "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment," published in 1977 and co-authored by Holdren with Malthusian population alarmist Paul R. Ehrlich and Ehrlich's wife, Ann. As WND reported, the authors argued involuntary birth-control measures, including forced sterilization, may be necessary and morally acceptable under extreme conditions, such as widespread famine brought about by "climate change."

To prevent ecological disasters, including "global warming," Holdren argued the U.S. Constitution would permit involuntary abortions, government-imposed sterilizations and laws limiting the number of children as steps justified under the banner of "sustainable well-being."

I'm sorry if a conservative suggested this it would automatically be deemed unconstitutional. Though, since a liberal nut job is suggesting it you know that they will aim it at religious families that can actually support their children. Part of the joke is on them because many conservatives choose not to let their reproductive organs run on overtime and choose to only have as many children as they can support and raise responsibly. By raise responsibly I mean devote proper attention to and actually parent, something that is rapidly becoming illegal.

This is such utter and complete B.S. O.K. Here is my issue. If this woman were a Mexican that came over the border and gave birth she would be allowed to stay here. But, since she is a Marine widow, who gave birth to their son and came here legally she is not allowed to stay. I am understanding the rules about a proxy marriage and it not having been consumated after the fact, but.....

Regarding arguments against gay marriage...

The argument that the minority status of a population is demanding equal rights and treatment as the majority of the population is rational cause for discriminating against is the very definition of prejudice, bigotry and oppression. This is the most twisted, silliest logic I've ever read to rationalise bigotry. As I've already stated, even a kindergartener would see this denial of marriage to gay men and lesbians as unfair and unjust.

No, the demands that we re-write a millenia-old definition of marriage to fit the political agenda of a minority of the population is completely skewed. And while I'm certain that a kindergartner would certainly agree with you that it's mean, a kindergartner cannot even describe what civilization is, much less give any dissertation about the roots of said civilization. Cry bigotry all you want, I'm used to it, as well as the charge of racism. It's the preferred epithet of someone who has nothing else on their side.

Granting marriage to a minority group doesn't make it a "special right" for them, it simply transforms this "special right" straight people enjoy into a "right" for all.

Destroying traditional marriage to fit the demands of a minority makes it a "special" right, Mr. Sellers. Not one proponent of gay marriage has come forward with anything resembling a true alternative. They have simply sought the destruction of the status quo.

Saying that gay men and women have a choice of marring the opposite sex is a moronic argument -- one option is the opposite of a choice.

Using the inherent bigotry of the world's top religions is hardly a viable argument to justify the current arguemnet. And these relitions themselves have changed their views on several issues over time. During the Middle Ages the Catholic church encouraged the burning of Jews and Gallileo spent the last days of his life under house arrest because he dared to say that the Earth was not the center of the universe.

Ah, well then, let my discard my "bigoted" Christianity, and only use straight scientific evidence, much like Charles Darwin did.

Using Darwin's Theory of Evolution, gay men and women should NOT be allowed to marry in any fashion, because they are genetic abnormalities who, if allowed to follow their urges, would fail to pass on ANY genetic traits. Since the Theory of Evolution posits that successful species pass on the traits which help the species strengthen itself, and gays would not pass on their genes at all because they do not commit acts that lead to procreation, gays should be considered not only genetic abnormalities, but genetically inferior. Therefore, for the sake of evolution, gays should be segregated from the rest of the population who do not suffer from said genetic abnormalities.

There. That's pure, cold science for you. Aren't you glad I'm a Christian?

The argument that the purpose of marriage is for the procreation of children is completely mistaken. Millions of humn embryos are fertilize every day in the bellies of unmarried females. And there a millions of married men and women around the world who do not have, and doe not want, children. I have a cousin of my own who is a very kind woman who made it clear when she married over a decade ago that she loves children but she has no desire to be a mother herself.

Marriage is the institution that developed over thousands of years in order to raise a family in a secure, stable environment. Using modern statistics only secures the fact that the nuclear family in a traditional marriage is the best way to raise children. Children from a traditional nuclear family do better in school, do better in their social contact, are generally happier and healthier than children raised in a single parent home, and have less emotional and mental conflict than their counterparts in other than traditional homes.

Let me quote someone who has spoken/written extensively on the subject:

And yet, when given the option of civil unions vs. marriage, the pro-gay marriage groups threw an absolute fit. If you wanted the legal protections you could have done what my wife and I did BEFORE WE EVER SPOKE OF MARRIAGE - go see a lawyer, and have paperwork drawn up to deal with issues such as property, wills, etc. When we bought our land, we weren't married, and yet the land legally belonged to the both of us.

Civil union are a legal union. Marriages, before they were co-opted by the state were RELIGIOUS FUNCTIONS. Before the USA ever existed, marriage was a religious sacrament in Christianity, and held massive importance to other religions all over the globe.

And for anyone wringing their hands at night fretting over the lack of a definition of marriage, I offer one here:

Marriage is the legal union of two consenting adults.

There, now you don't have to worry about women marrying goats or men marrying sheep or adults marrying children anymore.

Now make it stick in court. Then maybe I'll believe you.

As President Barack Obama campaigns to generate backing from voters for his health-care overhaul proposal, the first lady joined the effort today with a more focused pitch.

Michelle Obama said women are being “crushed by the current structure of our health care” because they often are responsible for taking care of family illnesses, arranging checkups and monitoring follow-up care.


She shows such complete and total ignorance in that statement that I can barely begin to count the ways, so let me give you two.

1. Unlike socialized medicine we are able to make appointments and the doctors actually try to help us get better instead of waiting all day for doctors who misdiagnose because they don't care because they are completely overburdened to meet their quote so they can bring home something that resembles minimum wage!

2. Hey honey, it's not me that spread my legs for you to have that child. Having children is a life choice, just like having a pet. If you can't handle it, there are more than a dozen forms of birth control. More over this just brings me back to there being a reason for traditional roles in the home. In today's society one person job will always suffer for the children and it is usually the wives. But an even bigger travesty in this is all the women who have chosen to become single mothers and the unwitting fathers are frequently the victims.

But this is just my two cents worth, maybe women are being crushed by their choices, but I don't think it's the current structure of our healthcare.

U.S. Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, the top Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, is demanding a straight up-or-down vote on a bill dedicated to removing ACORN from the list of recipients of federal largesse, or says he'll force the issue.

And a key conservative vote, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says unless there is such an action, it will mean the recent votes on that very issue were nothing but "cover."

The result has been that the U.S. Census Bureau has cut ties to Acorn and both houses of Congress have taken votes to halt funding to the organization. The problem with that, Bachmann says, is that the votes were on amendments to different bills and "still have far to go before they reach the president's pen for signature into law." Bachmann warns, "ACORN still remains eligible for billions of your tax dollars."

"And don't think that the Democrats won't try to strip the ACORN language from whatever bill finally makes it to the White House," Bachmann continued. "These votes were their cover.

"They think that you'll be fooled into thinking that they've heard your outrage and are abandoning their good buddy, ACORN."

"There is one way that we can immediately cut ACORN off from all federal programs and funding, and it's going to take all of us pressuring President Obama to use the federal suspension and debarment process to make it happen," Bachmann explained. "This process is coordinated by the Office of Management and Budget at the White House.

"Here's what the executive branch says about the process: 'The government debarment and suspension procedures are intended to prevent poor performance, waste, fraud and abuse in federal procurement and nonprocurement actions. Debarment or suspension of an organization, business or individual from doing business with the federal government is not meant to be a punishment, but a procedure to ensure that federally funded business is conducted legally with responsible persons,'" Bachman explained.

First I read this post by Dan Riehl:

The first thing Boehner does is mention that Independents out number the base in their concerns over Obama. That's a bit of a tell as to which way he is leaning. But the second issue is far worse.

While I've no problem with his staying clear of some of the truly fringe stuff like the doomed birther movement, that he can't appreciate creeping socialism is rather troubling, indeed. And he seems to feed into the notion that the "base" is mostly comprised of the more extreme and unhinged elements of it.

It's hard to conclude anything other than Boehner simply doesn't get it at all. This is a genuinely troubling read.

You know what I haven't seen much of in the flap over health care? I have seen very few Republicans come out and simply say "This is not the government's job. This is not the government's business. The government has no reason to take over the health care system in this country." Maybe they've been saying it and I just haven't heard it or seen it in print, but there seems to be a dearth of people willing to simply tell the government to back off. And the quote from Rep. Boehner is troubling for that reason. And then I went over to Geek w/a .45, and saw this:

I held my nose when I voted for McCain, but when I watch speeches like this, I reminded of how vast the differences between Obama and McCain truly are in regards to U.S. foreign policy. Teaching the nation a lesson this way could come at a price we'll never afford.

"First Amendment New Deal," a new "Fairness Doctrine"

I absolutely love this....

President Obama's newly confirmed regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, drew up a "First Amendment New Deal," a new "Fairness Doctrine" that would include the establishment of a panel of "nonpartisan experts" to ensure "diversity of view" on the airwaves, WND has learned.

Sunstein compared the need for the government to regulate broadcasting to the moral obligation of the U.S. to impose new rules that outlawed segregation.

He goes on to say that this is within the spirit of the 1st Amendment. This document would also require purely commercial stations(probably only ones that disagree with the current governments agenda) to subsudize public or less profitable commercial stations that provide "higher quality programming".

Quite honestly I don't know where to begin with this, other than suggesting you read the entire article. I do however believe I know exactly how this will shake out...
I see anyone who does not agree with the current communist regime, being forced down our throats, being punished finacially and forced to air opinions that they have no desire to pay for. Just before his appearance at the conference, Sunstein wrote a blog entry in which he explained he "will be urging that it is important to resist, on democratic grounds, the idea that the document should be interpreted to reflect the view of the extreme right-wing of the Republican Party."

In his book, Sunstein laid out what he wants to become the new bill of rights, which he calls the Second Bill of Rights:

Later in the book, Sunstein argues that "at a minimum, the second bill should be seen as part and parcel of America's constitutive commitments."

I guess I should have seen this coming....

Yes these are all ideals, but as the government interferes more and more we see less hard working americans able to succeed in all of this. As far as the right to a decent home, define a decent home. Are people required to work for a decent home?

Eight years later, after I was woken up by my room-mate who burst into my bedroom and yelled "Dave, terrorists just attacked the World Trade Center!" I still remember that day clearly. To Gateway Pundit for all the work he did, doing the job the MSM refuses to do in covering Van Jones. The best quote I've heard about the whole thing is that the people who only read the papers are going to hear about Van Jones for the first time when they read about his resignation.

And of course, Glenn Beck as well. Say what you want about the guy, but if it weren't for Beck just flat out hammering the White House about Jones, nothing would have ever happened.

Reading this article (found here) about a protest in Texas, my eye caught a possible quote that got my blood boiling:

I don't quite know who wrote that, which is why I said "possible" quote. I don't know if Mr. Collins called the president our leader, or if it was put in by the newspaper. But fuck them all to hell. Fuck both of them all to hell in any case. The president does. Not. LEAD! He represents this country on the world stage, but he doesn't lead jack shit! Despite the best efforts of the Democrat American Communist Party, this is NOT North Korea! We do not have Dear Leader installed in D.C.!

Perhaps THAT is the big dichotomy between Conservatives and Liberals - Conservatives want to be represented. Liberals want to be lead. Having surrendered their responsibilities to the government, as well as the freedoms that those responsibilities come with, Liberals now wait, infant like, to be led into blissful, ignorant slumber, sucking their binkies and waiting for their government sponsored nurse to change their soiled diapers.

And if Liberals just left it at that, we might have been fine. But they want to force the REST of America into their infantile slumber with them. Sorry you Leftoid fuckwits, but I choose my LEADERS.
