Trump Cancelled the White House Press Christmas Party

President Trump has canceled the White House holiday party for the media, making the decades-old tradition a victim of his increasingly contentious relationship with major news organizations. 

The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.

Oh, so the people who routinely shit all over Trump, insult him, and denigrate his family would be coming to party?  Well gosh, why don't we roll out the red carpet?

I've said multiple times that folks like me have waited decades for someone to treat the mainstream media with the disrespect it deserves.  Half of the joy that I get from Trump being in office is watching him overturn the apple-carts of the pompous jackasses who infest D.C.  So the media don't get their Christmas party?  GOOD!  Let them go waste someone else's money.

They think they're special.  And they are, but not in any way that could be considered good.

I want to know who drove this girl to suicide

A fourth-grade girl committed suicide because of racist bullying.  My heart goes out to the family, of both the girl and the boy she was friends with.  But I want to know, and maybe I'm being a bit touchy here because of personal reasons, but who, exactly, was doing the bullying?

“She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘kill yourself,’ ‘you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy,’ ‘you ugly,’ ‘black b-tch,’ ‘just die’,” she said.

If you want to see true racism, take a look at the violent hatred expressed towards blacks who walk off the Democrat plantation.  And what makes my hackles rise here is that if it were a majority white school, that would be front and center.  But going through the news report, there's no indication what so ever of the race of her bullies.

I don't like thinking in racial terms, but the Left has forced that mindset on this country.  So I want to know - what is the racial make-up of her school?  What is the racial make-up of her bullies? 

I look at blacks who have escaped the Democrat plantation, and the violent hatred they experience every single day.  Candice Owens comes to mind.  I think of the blacks who might not even be really conservative, but they're not liberal.  Condi Rice.  Walter Williams.  Thomas Sowell.  The sheer amount of hatred that is directed at them by other blacks. 

So here's this story that's supposed to tug at our heart-strings.  But thanks to the Left, and their absolute hatred of blacks who don't "act black", I want to know:  WHAT IS THE RACE THAT BULLIED THIS POOR GIRL TO SUICIDE?

I'm willing to bet that a huge bunch of them are black.  And the reason they bullied her is because they are racist against whites, and blacks that are friendly to whites.

And it breaks my heart.

And if it happens to be a classical case of racism, where whites were attacking her for being friends with a white boy, I hope that the families of those kids who taught them racism in the crib burn in hell.

The retired assistant case manager, Craig McNees, was in charge of vetting food-stamp applicants in north Florida and Indiana in the ’80s and says the program was infested with fraud and corruption that was perpetually ignored by management. “Illegals would come in by the vanload and we were told to give them their stuff,” McNees said. “Management knew very well they were illegal. It was so rampant that some employees would tell their illegal relatives to come get food stamps.” 

McNees contacted Judicial Watch after reading documents obtained by JW from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) detailing how the agency is working with the Mexican government to promote participation by illegal aliens in the U.S. food stamp program. The effort includes a Spanish-language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy by the USDA ensuring that Mexicans in the U.S. don’t need to declare their immigration status to get financial assistance from Uncle Sam.

Can anybody give me ONE GOOD REASON why the US Government should be printing a pamphlet in Spanish instructing illegal aliens on how to get more money from a country they invaded illegally?  Anyone?  Anyone?

The retired case worker who contacted JW says in the three years he worked in a Sarasota food-stamp office, he found more than 500 cases of fraud but management ignored them all instead pushing a yearly quota. “They just said that if we don’t give out as many as last year, we don’t get our money,” McNees said. “It was crazy, like a three-ring circus; like the inmates were running the asylum.” 

Decades later it seems little has changed as Obama promotes the program like there’s no tomorrow. In fact, last summer a federal audit revealed that many who don’t qualify for food stamps receive them under a special “broad-based” eligibility program that disregards income and asset requirements. That means American taxpayers are getting stuck with a multi-million-dollar tab to feed hundreds of thousands who can well afford to feed themselves. 

Adding insult to injury, last spring the USDA Inspector General revealed that many food-stamp recipients use their welfare benefit to buy drugs, weapons and other contraband from unscrupulous vendors. Some trade food stamps for reduced amounts of cash, the USDA watchdog told Congress, disclosing that the fraud has cost taxpayers nearly $200 million. None of this surprises McNees, who claims he witnessed so much fraud as a food-stamp case worker that he “could write a book.”

It's long past time to stop handing out money to people.  It doesn't work.  It hasn't done a damn thing to lift people out of poverty.  The "War On Poverty" started decades ago and has cost billions upon billions of dollars, but we still have the same problems with poverty that we've always had - some people are going to remain in poverty no matter what you give them, no matter how much money you hand them, no matter how many free goodies they receive, they will remain in poverty because they refuse to do anything to lift themselves out of poverty.

The unending hypocrisy of the Left

California is one of the most anti-gun states in the USA.  San Francisco is THE hotbed of leftist Marxist idiocy and evil in California.

So that's why the San Francisco DA was carrying a gun, ILLEGALLY, on public flights, and then firing the people who blew the whistle on him.

A former senior investigator says he was fired for blowing the whistle on his boss, San Francisco District Attorney George Gascón, who he alleged carried a gun while flying — in violation of federal law. 

Gascón reacted with a “pattern of retaliation and harassment” that culminated in the termination of senior investigator Henry G. McKenzie on Oct. 30, 2017, according to the suit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

We no longer really have the rule of law in this country.  We have one law that we the Normal Americans have to follow, and one law that the the un-touchable politically connected elites follow, where they can violate the laws with impunity and skate away from any charges for doing things that would land us Normal Americans in jail.  Does anyone who reads this blog think that if they took their gun with them through the San Francisco airport that they'd just be allowed to waltz on through?  Hell no, we'd be in jail.  For a loooooooong, long time.

In short, we have a Marxist system of law in this country now.  Much like in the old USSR, where the political elite would live in luxurious dachas while the common folk starved, in the USSA the politically connected can violate any number of laws without consequence, while we Normal Americans are forced to suffer under an increasing number of often incomprehensible laws and regulations imposed on us against our will.

What cannot go on forever, won't.  And this two-tiered system of laws in America will eventually lead to we Normal Americans just shrugging our shoulders and deciding that this game is rigged and we're not going to play anymore.

It is telling that the most Marxist areas of the country are the places where the most corrupt, vile, foul hypocrites live.  It's almost as if Marxist ideologies and corruption go hand in hand.....

On that note, the Marxist half-wit elected to represent parts of NYC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, wasted no time in threatening a private citizen with the full power of the state.  Commies gonna commie, folks.  There is not a single Marxist out there who uses the power of the state benevolently.  Ever.  This googly-eyed, unbelievably stupid woman is just as evil and corrupt as any other Marxist.  And it didn't take her long to prove that fact.

The decision to sign Kaepernick obviously had nothing to do with his sporting profile. He has not played in the NFL since 2016, as he has been unable to find a new team. And yet he was given a contract with Nike that was said to be on par with top-end NFL players. 

Kanter, on the other hand, is in the prime of his sporting career, making millions pursuing his passion. What’s more, his decision to put everything on the line to continue speaking out against the Turkish regime, which has detained over 170,000 of his fellow citizens in recent years, showed precisely the kind of bravery Nike is claiming to champion. 

While the trend for using social-justice issues to promote products is nothing new, there has certainly been a wave recently of preachy politically charged commercials. In this age of virtue-signalling, companies are trying to imbue their products with a sense of moral superiority. But Kanter’s story shows that campaigns like Kaepernick’s have nothing to do with principle.

Not only did he—read my lips—betray the legacy of Ronald Reagan in his electorally fatal decision to welsh on his “no new taxes” pledge, not only did he cut the legs out from under the Reagan Revolution by calling for a “kinder, gentler America,” but he also egregiously mishandled the Gipper’s most important legacy: the defeat of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.

GOP "leadership" (that would be the backstabbing twatwaffle known as Paul Ryan) blocked Trump's reform bill last summer.

The GOP leadership let the House immigration reform die in June by allowing a critical bloc of GOP legislators to split their votes between two rival reform bills, said Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the retiring chairman of the House committee on the judiciary. 

“The strategy of having two options really let people have an off-ramp — they could vote for the more conservative bill and against the other, or vote for the second bill and not the first,” Goodlatte said, adding: 

That is just not a good strategy and I complained about it at the time. I said ‘You’ve got to narrow this down to one bill and then work really hard to get the members to vote for that one bill.’ 

Goodlatte’s statement matches the June statement by Rep. Jim Jordan, who said: “If our leadership had put the same whip effort behind that immigration legislation, Chairman Goodlatte’s legislation, it would have passed.” 

Tell me again about how Trump is the reason the GOP lost the House.  Go ahead.  Pull the other one, it's got bells on it.

Retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan made the decision to create the rival bill that blocked Goodlatte’s bill. 

On November 30, Ryan told an interviewer that he preferred the second bill, which he credited to Florida GOP Rep. Carlos Curbelo. 

The Curbelo bill was drafted when Ryan exploited a pro-amnesty push by Curbelo and other business-first GOP legislators to push an amnesty for younger “DACA” illegals. Ryan blocked the amnesty push by crafting a pro-business “Goodlatte II” bill to sink Goodlatte’s bill.

If the GOP actually followed the principles it claims to have, we would control both Congress and the White House, forever.  But voters are faced with a choice - do they want to vote for a bunch of Anti-American National Socialist shitheels who are trying to destroy America (Democrats), or do they want to vote for a bunch of big-government Democrats-in-everything-but-name who lie about their intentions every single day in order to get elected (Republicans)?  Most folks are going to go with the people who are open about their intentions, because it's easier to resist someone who's frank about their hatred for this country.  GOP voters were tired of pulling knives out of their back, and they were sick and tired of Paul Fucking Ryan and the rest of the GOP establishment putting them there.

I hate the Democrat Party for being anti-American marxists, and I hate the Republican Party for being a bunch of backstabbing traitors.  That's why I voted for Donald Trump.  That's why I'll vote for him in 2020 if he runs.  And if he doesn't run, I'll vote for someone else who will make the GOP scream in anger.  Because then maybe they'll begin to have a small taste of the absolute rage I feel every time I see the GOP betray it's base.  Which is a daily occurrence, at this point.

Donald Trump didn't lose the House.  The GOP lost the House by shitting all over their voters ONCE AGAIN.  And they might lose the Senate next time too.

And they wonder why they lost the House

Because they sell out the base while rolling over for the Democrats.  Because they are, at heart, Democrats, who only mouth conservative platitudes in order to get elected, while returning to their native state once they get to D.C.

Sadly, President Bush’s passing provided Republicans with the perfect subterfuge with which to sell us out, even though they were already looking for an avenue to cave. They are planning to pass a two-week continuing resolution that will expire right before Christmas on December 21, knowing full well there will be no appetite for a border fight right before everyone leaves town for the holiday. 

There is no reason we can’t deal with the ultimate government shutdown – the suspension of law and order at our border – while we hold a funeral for President Bush. Republicans know this as well as we do, but they never had any intention of fighting.

If all we're going to get out of the House is Democrat bills, then it should be the Democrats pushing them, eh?

And speaking of priorities, while our immigration priorities are not in the bill, the priorities of cheap labor will eventually be in the omnibus. Congress plans to double the number of H-2B non-agricultural, unskilled seasonal workers that will continue to be a public charge on America. Also, even before legislators pass the omnibus prior to Christmas, they are slipping in extensions of the flood insurance programs and the Violence Against Woman Act (VAWA) even in the two-week stopgap bill. 

Evidently, we can afford to go without border security but we can’t have any lapse in this broken flood insurance program or a special-interest program that uses an important issue to subvert due process.

Paul Ryan was such an utter, feckless failure that I really can't properly describe him in the English language.  Someone recently suggested that there ought to be another layer of hell in Dante's Inferno, for the people who are not only traitors but nation-wreckers.  I agree.  I say that you make the 10th circle of hell the area where Satan shits out the traitors that he's chewed upon; the shat-out traitors spend all of eternity trying to crawl back up Satan's ass to escape the hell, but they keep getting pushed down by more nation-wrecking traitors getting shat out, as well as being pulled back down by their companions, much as they pulled down the good, hard-working Americans with their Marxist idiocy, backstabbing, and lies.  Paul Ryan needs to be the first one shat out, followed by John Boehner, although Boehner is no longer infecting the GOP actively.  He's like shingles; caused by a virus that lays dormant until the wrong time, when it pops out and causes massive pain.

Sadly, it appears that the House will pass a new stopgap bill on Thursday without a recorded vote, so the public won’t even be treated to a debate. What a sad way to end an eight-year run of GOP House control.

I think it's the perfect way to end the eight year GOP run - gutless pathetic fucking backstabbers flipping the bird to their voting base one last time.

Participants searched Google for “gun control,” “immigration,” and “vaccinations,” but despite the identical search terms, the results varied, even when controlling the time and location, according to the study. 

DuckDuckGo also found that logging out of Google or searching in private browsing did not change this variation in Google search results, perhaps suggesting that such tactics don’t actually provide anonymity. 

Regardless of whether the users were logged in, logged out, or using the incognito mode feature, variation remained constant—in some cases, different news sources appeared in the results, while in others, the placement of a result differed drastically between searches, according to the study. The variation was also true of the results that appeared in the Google news and video boxes.

Read it all.  To the vast majority of my readers, this won't be any kind of a shock, it'll be more confirmation of what we already knew:  Google is evil, and it's trying to push you into thinking how it wants you to think.

I never use Google to search.  Ever.  I use DuckDuckGo on my home computer.  I won't ever use Google to do a damn thing, because I don't need Big Brother knowing everything about me.

We don't need any more Welfare leeches

A majority of “non-citizens,” including those with legal green card rights, are tapping into welfare programs set up to help poor and ailing Americans, a Census Bureau finding that bolsters President Trump’s concern about immigrants costing the nation. 

In a new analysis of the latest numbers, from 2014, 63 percent of non-citizens are using a welfare program, and it grows to 70 percent for those here 10 years or more, confirming another concern that once immigrants tap into welfare, they don’t get off it. 

That means that those people aren't here to "improve their life", unless that means sucking off of the productive citizens of this country like fat ticks on a dog.

“Concern over immigrant welfare use is justified, as households headed by non-citizens use means-tested welfare at high rates. Non-citizens in the data include illegal immigrants, long-term temporary visitors like guest workers, and permanent residents who have not naturalized. While barriers to welfare use exist for these groups, it has not prevented them from making extensive use of the welfare system, often receiving benefits on behalf of U.S.-born children,” added the Washington-based immigration think tank. 

The numbers are huge. The report said that there are 4,684,784 million non-citizen households receiving welfare.

There is absolutely no reason in the world why we should bring people to this country and then pay them to stay here.  Now many vets are refused treatment at the VA?  How many people in this country are homeless because they can't get the psychiatric help they need?  This is insanity.  We need to cut this flow of Welfare leeches off, and we need to do it now. 

Send them back if need be.  But not one more fucking dime should go to people who weren't born here, and came here of their own volition.

FBI agents raided the home of a recognized Department of Justice whistleblower who privately delivered documents pertaining to the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One to a government watchdog, according to the whistleblower’s attorney. 

The Justice Department’s inspector general was informed that the documents show that federal officials failed to investigate potential criminal activity regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and Rosatom, the Russian company that purchased Uranium One, a document reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation alleges. 

The delivered documents also show that then-FBI Director Robert Mueller failed to investigate allegations of criminal misconduct pertaining to Rosatom and to other Russian government entities attached to Uranium One, the document reviewed by TheDCNF alleges. 

There are two sets of rules for this country - one for the normal, law-abiding people and one for the thoroughly corrupt elitists who have managed to seize power.  In any sane world, Hillary Clinton would already be in jail.  Instead, her goon squad at the FBI are still harassing the people who are exposing her evil and how far it reaches.

Start by naming your daughter "Abcde".  Apparently it's pronounced "Ab-City".  But you know what?  If you cannot give your child a name that doesn't need to be explained every single time it's used, then you're the problem.

If you have to say "It's pronounced....." after every time you introduce your child, you're a failure as a parent. 

Reminds me of a story I heard from someone who was working in a hospital.  This medical professional took one look at the name, said "Nope, can't say that", and used his last name to call him in the ER.  "Mr. Williams?"  Only "Mr. Williams" was a teenager, and his mother was there.  And his mother didn't like this lady using his last name.  Nope.  Took umbrage with it, in fact.  Got all pissy, because the first name wasn't being used.  So mama stands up, looks at this medical professional, and spits out "It's Sha-THEED!"  Yeah.  Shatheed.  Only it wasn't spelled Shatheed, it was spelled Shithead.

This dumb ass woman named her son Shithead.  Pronounced ShaTHEED.  I'm betting her name was LaQuantia or something moronic like that.

The photograph that will represent the caravan storming the border right now has been chosen by the shadowy figures gathered around alphabet-channel boardrooms. It was carefully chosen and then disseminated through all the major networks to elicit the most outrage and sympathy from the American public. It is nauseating in its transparency. It was covered by the Washington Post Yahoo, CNN, Reuters, TMZ, The Daily Mail and NBC, among others.

Huh.  All the usual suspects, all using the same photograph, all pushing the same narrative.  Who woulda thunk it?

I'm looking around at the rest of the surging crowd and they're all wearing pants. In fact, a lot of them have accessories and headbands and scarves and bags. None of the adults are running around without pants. Why are these two children naked from the waist down and in diapers when they both appear to be at least 5 or 6 years old? This is a glaring red flag.

If you enlarge the photograph, you can see at least TWO other staged photo shoots going on in the background.  The entire photograph is one huge exercise in making up bullshit and selling it as news.  It's fake.  It's faker than the American media's integrity.

SO this 'mother' :

- walked with kids for 2000 miles in 40 days

I refuse.  I refuse to participate in an event that makes a mockery of a day dedicated to gratitude, and also a mockery of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord and King Jesus Christ, also known as Christ's Mass, which people now call Christmas.  "Let's all celebrate our Redeemer by beating the shit out of each other for a half-priced jacket!"  Nope.

There might be dozens or hundreds of reasons why you would come to blows with another person.  A good deal on children's toys does not fall into any of those reasons.

I think I'm still full from last night....

Dear Lord, that was a lot of food.  An embarrassment of riches, even.  We had ham, and turkey, and candied yams, and stuffed butternut squash, and mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole, and stuffing, and gravy.  The wife made a pumpkin pie CHEESECAKE.  I made four loaves of bread.  We had friends over.  My pal and I ended the evening sipping bourbon on the back porch, smoking a Perdomo bourbon-barrel aged toro, and wondering how we were going to get to sleep with our stomachs protruding out like a pregnant whale.

So yes, it was a successful Thanksgiving.  For which I'm thankful.

I've seen some people on the nominal "Right" look at people like Cernovich, Gavin MacInnis and a few others and ask "Why don't you take a break?"

Well, it's because the Left never takes a break.  All it takes is for the people who love this country to take a breather, to say "Oh, that's not that important", to slack off a bit, and you've got socialist indoctrination in schools and actual Socialists being elected to represent New York City.

Obama the Stuttering Clusterfuck of a Miserable Failure is still out and about trying to prop up his legacy.  Do you think he's taking a break from attacking America and trying to undermine everything good that this country stands for?  No, he hasn't.

I used to get tired of it.  Now I just get pissed off.

Going to the foot doctor today

We'll see what he says.  It'll most likely be a few days before he comes back with anything concrete, because there will be x-rays and other things done so he can look into my foot without yet having to cut it open.

There are no "Good" Public Schools

Saw this over at The Other McCain's place, and decided to share it.

A 9th grader and her family fear for their safety after the Harlandale High School student was jumped just minutes after the last bell rang. 

Melissa Serna said when she was on her way to pick up her daughter from school, she got a text saying her daughter had been attacked. 

“My thing was just going to the hospital to make sure my daughter was fine,” Serna said. “Because she had suffered from a concussion, she passed out when she was getting the kicks and punches to her head.” 

And the best part is still coming up!

The two students were suspended for three days, but are now back on campus. Serna said additional video surfacing on social media shows one of the students shooting a gun out of a moving car. 

Serna said her daughter is still being bullied and taunted at school every day.Harlandale ISD released this statement Wednesday regarding the incident: 

“The Harlandale Police Department is investigating this incident and has filed charges with the District Attorney’s office. The students will follow due process to the fullest extent of the law and will be disciplined according to the Harlandale ISD Student Code of Conduct and School Board Policy. The safety of our students is always our top priority and the Harlandale ISD takes all potential threats to students’ safety very seriously.”

So feral youth can send someone to the hospital, and they're suspended for a grand total of three days?

My child would never set foot in that school.  If I had a child enrolled there, I would remove them immediately. 

If you want your children to fail  in life, just place them in one of these government-run, feral-youth controlled indoctrination centers.  If your child manages to make it out alive, they'll be stuffed so full of Marxist crap that they won't have learned anything useful, and will either fail miserably at life, or be forced to spend decades undoing the damage that this "school" has done. 

There are no good public schools.  And there is no good reason to send your child to a public school.

Well, it's not gout

My doc did a uric acid test, and the numbers came back smack in the middle of "normal".  Which is good news and bad news.  Good because I don't have gout, and bad because this means my foot problem is something that will most likely require surgery.

Getting old sucks.

So my foot acted up again.  Went to the doc, had a blood test drawn, so I should find out soon if we can rule out gout, or if I'm going to be forgoing all the foods I love.  Asparagus?  Spinach?  Beef?  WHISKEY????

On the other hand, I've injured this foot multiple times, so if it's an injury it's probably an accumulation of all the various crap I've done to myself through the years.  I jacked it up good twice in LA.  The second time I actually heard all the bones *pop* as my foot came down on a rock and damn near folded on itself.  The x-ray showed either tiny bone spurs or calcifications in the joint that's causing me issues.  Prior to that I strained the tendons/ligaments so badly I couldn't walk for a week, and couldn't run for a month and a half.

On top of that, add in all the crap I've done in the Army.  Apparently I have plantar fasciitis on top of everything else going on with the feet.  The nurse kept poking my tendon at the bottom of my foot and saying "That shouldn't be sticking out like this."

Bottom line - no matter what the diagnosis is, I'm probably done with any serious running for a while.  Maybe forever.  Which sucks, because I like running.  Hopefully I'll find out from the doc about the test tomorrow.  If it's not gout, I'm going to an orthopedist to see what can be done.  Until then I'm just limping along.

England is refusing asylum for Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who's life is in danger, because they don't want to cause "unrest" in their Muslim population.  So in short, they are admitting that Muslims cannot co-exist with Western Civilization.  They are also admitting that they are no longer part of Western Civilization, seeing as how they care more about the inbred pedophile worshipping rapists and barbarians than they do about a Christian woman who's life is in danger from more inbred pedophile worshipping rapists and barbarians. 

Britain has rejected an appeal for asylum from Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian acquitted of blasphemy last week who is under the threat of death from Islamic leaders who struck a deal with her government to block her exit. 

The British government said allowing Bibi to enter the U.K. would cause unrest among Muslims, according to an advocate, the Huffington Post reported. 

Wilson Chowdhry, chairman of the British Pakistani Christian Association, said he’s been led to believe that the British government “had concerns that her moving to the UK would cause security concerns and unrest among certain sections of the community and would also be a security threat to British embassies abroad which might be targeted by Islamist terrorists.”

The proper response to these inbred, pedophile-worshipping rapists and barbarians is "We are bringing her here because it's the right thing to do.  If you try to stop us, you will be shot like the dogs you are."

If all of Islamic history could be boiled down into one sentence, it would be this:  Rage filled sub-human animals infect societies they could never build and destroy civilizations they could never create.

And quite frankly, Britain is done.  They're finished.  They don't have the strength necessary to defend themselves from the Islamic infection they gave themselves.  They refuse to defend the girls and women that muslims rape and use as sex slaves as in Rotherham.  They refuse to grant asylum because they know the muslims they have allowed in will riot and kill and loot and maim, and they're unwilling to do anything about it.

Veteran's Day

I'm thankful to every vet who came before me that gave me the opportunity to do what I do now.

Vets might not be the most genteel people.  War is fought by rough men.  But I'd take a football field of vets for company over a roomfull of Hollywood liberals any day of the week.

In related news:  The Birdsong of Peace.  I wonder how many Yanks broke down when they heard the guns go silent, and the birds start to sing.

Range Report

Took the new Ruger to the range.  There were a few hiccups in the first couple of magazines.  A couple of FTF, at least one where the case didn't eject all the way and got caught in the chamber as the slide closed.  I put about 200 rounds through it yesterday, and I tried all kinds of ammo.  The cheap plinking ammo is where I had problems - I tried Gold Dot, Sig Sauer and Hornady hollowpoints, and they all fed/cycled just fine.  Like I said, the problems were only in the first couple of mags.  After that, the gun ate everything I threw at it.  So maybe the springs needed to be beaten into submission before they operated properly.

Came home, and found my Talon grips in the mail.  So I put them on last night.

That's SEXY right there.....  I do find it humorous that I got my hot-weather carry gun just as the weather here turns cold and wet.  It'll go into my carry rotation anyways; the Mrs. decided that she wasn't in love with her Vedder holster so she gave it to me.  Also ordered a LC9 shell for my Alien Gear holster, which the Mrs. might just steal when it comes in.  That's a comfortable holster.  The Vedder is smaller, which will come in handy depending on what I'm wearing.

Anyways, there it is.  Mine all mine.

Been a screwed up month

So I'm going to the range today with the Mrs. and a friend.  Nothing like poking holes in paper at long distance to make you feel better.

It's about damn time.  Jim Acosta is a legend in his own mind, but for anyone else who's unfortunate enough to be around him, he's an arrogant, ignorant, egomaniacal narcissist who spends his time shouting accusations at Donald Trump rather than asking questions.  His press pass should have been yanked a long time ago, and that fat, stupid cow April Ryan should be next.

We normals have waited decades for someone to treat the mainstream media with the contempt and disrespect they deserve.  Trump could publicly lynch 90% of the White House Press Corps on national TV, and I wouldn't shed one tear.  I'd celebrate.

I ain't paying $10 shipping for a $5 item

Look, let's say you're selling a widget, and it's not a widget I can't live without.  It's a small, light widget that might weigh an ounce.  Maybe.

Shipping on that widget should be a buck or two.  Call it a dollar for postage and shipping materials, and another dollar for the time you spend slapping it in an envelope.

I'm not going to pay $10 for you to put your widget, your nice flat light widget, in an envelope and put a first class stamp on it.

Hell, Talon Grips didn't charge me a damn thing for shipping, because they can effectively ship me their grips in a flat first-class USPS envelope.  And USPS will come pick it up for free.  They don't even have to fight lines at the Post Office.

Anyways, just wanted to get that off my chest.

Dear GOP:  If you had actually helped the President along, you might have had more people that were willing to vote for you.  But on damn near every issue, you sat on your hands.  Paul Ryan is to blame for his feckless, weak, and establishmentarian leadership.  He's a big-government punk, and we're better off without him.

The Kavanaugh fight actually helped us in the Senate.  Possibly because we voters got to see the GOP senators actually fight back.

Belated birthday present

So, the Mrs. got a Ruger LC9s Pro for an anniversary gift.  It's going to be her carry gun, and she's put several hundreds downrange since she got it.  And of course, since I'm in the lane right next to her, she allows me some time with it.

Oh my, that trigger.  And it's a single stack 9mm that's almost as small as a .380 pistol.  And it shoots so very, very nice.....

So I got one as well for my birthday.  Somewhat belated, but I'm calling it my birthday gift.  So we now have His and Hers Rugers.  I ordered some Talon grips for mine, in Moss.  So we can tell them apart. 

This will be my carry gun during hot weather.  My Taurus or my 1911 will be my cold weather gun.  Screw this whole "dressing around the gun" thing.  I'm just buying a gun that fits the climate.

The Mrs. and I have both voted already, since we have to do mail-in ballots. 

I honestly have no idea how things are going to shake out.  This election cycle especially, since the pollsters flat out gave up any pretense of objectivity and have simply used their polls to attempt to sway the election.  And I think America has wised up to them, especially after 2016, so their propaganda is less effective than it has ever been.

Ammo Review

So, a while back I was contacted by a gentleman from AmmoToGo, asking if I had advertising space on the blog.  I responded that yes I do, but that's because my blog readership is small enough that people wouldn't really get a bump at all from any advertising I put up.  I'm just an extremely small fish in the blogging world.

So the gent wrote back and said "Well, thanks for the honest response.  How's about you just do an ammo review for us?"  To which I responded back with where he could send the ammo.  Which showed up pretty darn quickly, I might add.

I should have had this up earlier, but between my multiple physical ailments (October was pretty much a lost month for me, exercise-wise) and TDY trips, the review didn't get done.  UNTIL NOW!

*cue trumpet fanfare*

So, how did I test this ammo?  The same way I practice at the range. - me, using an isosceles stance, unsupported, at seven yards.  If I can put the rounds on target at seven yards, I can do it at five or three.  I don't own a rest.  I don't own a chronograph.  So I'm not going to get into the specifics of accuracy.  Besides, plenty of other people have done that, and they have the data to prove it.  I'm going to talk about how this ammo performed for me in my gun.

My pistol is a Taurus PT111G2.  Pretty much the previous generation of the Taurus G2C.  9mm, double-stack magazine (12+1), 3.2 inch barrel.  I had been somewhat leery about buying a Taurus before I picked this up; everyone has heard the stories about their *ahem* reliability issues.  But it was a good price, and at the time I didn't own a 9mm pistol, so I bought it just to see what it could do.  I'm happy to say that this gun eats almost every kind of ammo you can throw at it, and the one or two failure to feed issues I had were due to me limp-wristing the pistol.  There are pistols with better ergonomics out there, yeah, but in terms of performance?  This pistol hasn't let me down once.  A big chunk of folks who are skeptical of it are more than pleased once they fire it.  And for the price?  Can't beat it.  I like this pistol so much it's my carry gun when it's cool enough to cover a double-stack 9mm with an overshirt.

For anyone scoffing at that last sentence, I have one word for you:  Mississippi.  Need a couple more words?  July and August.  Enough said.

Now, every firearm has ammo that it likes, and ammo it doesn't like.  My 9mm pistol doesn't like the Sig Sauer Elite Performance ammo.  Does that make it bad ammo?  No, it just means that it doesn't perform well in my pistol.  Two different pistols will have two different results with the very same ammo.  That's just part of shooting.  That's why so many competition shooters will spend hours and hours just to tweak their hand-loads to their guns.  And lots of my regulars are all nodding their heads, saying "No kidding Dave, we know, so hurry the hell up with this already...."

The generous folks at Ammo to Go sent me some Speer Lawman, and Speer Gold Dot to test.  I brought along some Blazer Brass and Federal American Eagle ammo just to have some other rounds to compare.  So, how did they do?  Well....  Here's Round One.  I loaded ten rounds of each and fired them off.  I held the boxes up against the target so you can get a decent measurement of the groups:

As you can see, my shots with the Blazer were all over the place.  The Federal was tight.  Both the Speer ammunitions were well within "minute of sternum", which is what you're looking for in a pistol like mine.  I loaded up with more Federal and Gold Dot ammo, for Round Two:

That grouping with the Gold Dot was probably my worst grouping with good ammo, and that's on me, not the ammo.  One last group, just to make sure.

The bottom line is that this ammo is far more accurate than I am.  My wife unfortunately didn't get any pictures of her groups.  However, she was pleased as punch with the Lawman.  This was her first time out with her new pistol, so she was breaking it in, and the Lawman was giving her nice tight groups.

Now for the important part:  I didn't have a single failure to feed in all the boxes I put through the pistol.  Both the Lawman and the Gold Dot were remarkably clean.  The Blazer Brass put out copious amounts of smoke, the Federal a little less so.  The Lawman and Gold Dot were damn near smoke free in comparison.  The Lawman is also a completely encased lead bullet, which means you're not getting any vaporized lead when you shoot.  Cleaner range, cleaner gun, and no heavy metal poisoning!

Both Speer ammos were easily controllable.  I borrowed the wife's Ruger for a couple of magazines, and her lighter pistol was still easy to keep on target.

Both the Speer and the Blazer are made in the same factory, so it's somewhat revealing just how much a difference even a little bit of refinement makes in a type of ammunition.  For about a buck or two more, the Lawman gives you much better accuracy.  Of course, they're both made in Idaho so I'm a bit biased in my ammo selection.  I would buy both of them without any hesitation, and I would note that the Speer Lawman is a under $13.00 at Ammo to Go.  I would carry the Gold Dot as defensive ammo with no concerns.  It ran through my pistol perfectly, and even when I was pushing my speed of shooting I managed to keep nice groupings with it.  My worst groupings with the Gold Dot could still be covered by my hand.

I want to thank Mr. Black at Ammo to Go for giving me the opportunity to test out some ammo and review it here.  I'll be looking at Ammo to Go when I want to get a big order of ammunition in the future.

I will be glad when election season is over

In case you didn't know, the "caravan" of "refugees", also known as illegal aliens invading our country, just filed a lawsuit in Washington D.C.

So, this horde of the poor 'n starvin, fleeing their war-torn, er, socialist countries, is so poor and destitute that they can file lawsuits against the President of the USA for saying that they can't come in to this country illegally.

Yeah.  Totally legit.

This is such a blatant, obvious Democrat hit job that I actually wonder if it isn't being funded by the GOP in some fashion.  I mean, this caravan of violent thugs and hoodlums (with enough wimmin and chilluns for the media to take photos of for heart-tugging action) is only reminding Americans that the Left cares more about illegal aliens than they do about actual US citizens.  Especially since actual US citizens didn't vote for Hillary, which means they must be replaced by more complacent, obedient socialist brown people who do what they're told when their betters tell them to do it.  Not like those disobedient sister-scrogging, gun-humping, bible thumping, low-sloping-forehead Jesus Freaks in flyover country, amirite?

Yeah, this entire thing is pissing me off, and what makes me even more angry is the fact that this should have been dealt with decades ago.  Close the border.  No birthright citizenship.  ENFORCE THE DAMN LAWS.  But both the GOP and the DNC had incentives to keep the massive flood of illegal aliens going into this country, and now we're dealing with the after effects of decades of importing low-education, low-skill, socialist-indoctrinated criminals who flout our laws with impunity.

Trump got where he is by first hammering America's lack of action on the border.  If Democrats actually think that this caravan of violent invaders is going to help them next Tuesday, they need to stop smoking whatever drugs they're on.  America is fed up with being told that we have to accept MS-13 gang members running unchecked across our border or else we're raaaaaaaaaaacist.  Screw that, and screw every politician who aids and abets this flood of illegal aliens into our country.

Secure the border.  BUILD THE WALL.  And cut off all Federal Funds to illegal aliens.  You don't have to deport them, you just have to cut off their flow of our money and watch them go back home.

The study contributes to growing evidence that marijuana use in adolescents is associated with reduced neurocognitive functioning.

Some gut bug got me two weeks ago.  Laid me up for a week.

Screwed my foot up last week.  Couldn't run.

Today it's a pinched nerve in my upper back.  Tried to work out just upper body stuff, and came home unable to turn my head. 

This getting old crap is starting to piss me off.

I hate buying presents

I never know what to get a person.  What if they already have what I give them?  What if it's just not what they want?

Is it just me, or is there anyone else out there who hates gift purchasing?

One of the worst parts about traveling

Is how it screws with your diet.

The Mrs. and I normally eat a very healthy diet.  Not much fast food, nothing fried, lots of fruit and veggies.

Well, most the time when I travel I can't eat like I do back home.  So my diet goes a little sideways.  I still eat as healthy as I can, but when you have ten minutes for lunch you typically don't get to sit down with a salad.  You have to grab and go.

So when I get back, and I start eating my normal foods again, my body goes into purge mode.  I've been releasing more gas than a cow farm around here.  My wife is contemplating having me sleep outside.  The dog is running from his spot on the couch giving me accusing looks, as if to say "Don't blame me for that, you gross bastard!"

Church this morning is going to be fun.  I think I might need a cork.
