Why the world needs Citizen-Warriors.

The world needs citizen warriors. 

I’m talking about the average, ordinary, everyday folks you see on your way to work, at the grocery store, or wherever they might be, but who are more than capable of taking bad people down a peg or two. 

We need more folks like that. Desperately.

Yes.  Yes we do.  And why is that?  Because if we had more citizen warriors, if we had more people who actually understood violence, the causes of it, the repercussions of it, we might be able to head off Civil War v.2.

So what gives? Why hasn’t it started yet? I was discussing this with a personal friend yesterday, a veteran, MMA fighter, and all-around guy you don’t want to fuck with. He is the sort of man that, were the war to start tomorrow, would be on the front lines. He expressed to me his fear, not for himself, but for his wife, his children, and the end of a relatively prosperous life. For even if he survived the conflict, he mused, life would never be the same. 

Veterans are largely Rightists, and Leftists are largely pussies who have spent their lives avoiding any kind of real physical risk. So the Right has a much better sense for what a war within our borders would really look like. The Left, as Francis notes in the following quote, has no idea because they have not suffered consequences for this behavior up until now.

The Left wants Civil War because they have no idea what actual war is.  The Right does NOT want Civil War because we have an actual idea of what war is, and what comes afterwards.  But as Thales points out:

And it stems from the Left's inability to argue rationally.  Their emotionally-driven rhetoric cannot and will not allow them to process facts logically.  Therefore, everything becomes an emotional assault by bad people.

 The key to the thing, once again, is in the Left’s characterization of normal Americans as either stupid or evil.As time has passed, their preference has been revealed: to gain the ends they seek, they need to see us as evil. They mean well; we don’t. That’s where their “analysis” ends. 

     There’s no reasoning with one who considers you evil. There’s certainly no compromising with him. He’s out to destroy you. He’ll take whatever opportunity you offer to slip the dirk between your fourth and fifth ribs and twist it. Nor is there any way for you to convince him that you’re not evil. He assumes a priori that everything you say is ultimately aimed at his destruction. 

     At that point it becomes war to the knife. 

     We haven’t yet seen violence with actual casualties. But we will.

Buy more ammo.  Go to the range.  What is coming will not be pleasant, and I don't think it can be avoided.

Still NOT tired of all the winning!

Justice Kennedy is retiring.  As in, immediately, which is rather unusual.  Normally a SCOTUS Justice will wait until a replacement has been confirmed before they scoot off, but apparently he's had enough and he wants to spend his days reading books, giving speeches and rocking on his front porch with a glass of lemonaide.

Good.  He was the ultimate "swing" vote.  You never knew what side of an argument he would come own on.  And now Trump gets to pick a SECOND Supreme Court Justice, and if his second pick is anything like his first pick, we'll have a conservative SCOTUS for decades to come.

Add in the public-employee unions getting a sledgehammer to the face?  Win after win after win.  I'm smiling almost as much as I did on the day after election day when I realized that evil, corrupt hag wasn't ever going to be president.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that no government employee can be fired for refusing to financially support a union. The decision frees workers who do not wish to join a union from being forced to pay the union nevertheless. This will likely spark a massive exodus from the ranks of public sector unions, weakening the Democratic Party. 

"States and public-sector unions may no longer exact agency fees from nonconsenting employees," Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the 5-4 decision. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, and Neil Gorsuch joined in his opinion. Justice Sonia Sotomayor filed a dissent, and Justice Elena Kagan filed a separate dissent, in which Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Bryer, and Sotomayor joined.

Of course the commie shitstains on the SCOTUS are dissenting.  They know that without the public employee unions funneling millions of dollars to the Democrat party, a bunch of Democrats up and down ballot won't get elected.

Humanity really hasn't changed

Filthy, stinking hippies of the 60's and 70's could be transported to the current day, and other than bell bottoms, you couldn't tell them apart from the stupid, dirty, filthy hippies of today.  As proof, I give you exhibit A, who spent a nice afternoon at the ballpark, shouting obscenities in front of small children.

Ben Faulding of North Baldwin, NY, looks like he was transported from forty years in the past, complete with unkempt hair, scraggly untrimmed beard, and mental illnesses that cause him to hurl expletives in front of small kids at what is supposed to be a nice evening out.

The baseball game that McInnes and Faulding were at was between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Boston Lowell Spinners. Both of these teams are affiliates of their Major League equivalents, and their games are generally intended for a younger audiences. Children run the bases after the game and the Brooklyn Cyclones were even sponsored by the toddler cartoon Paw Patrol. 

Despite the young audience, Faulding couldn’t help himself and felt it appropriate to scream obscenities in front of seas of children.

I wanted to check out this hippy douchebag's twitter account, but apparently after bragging about hurling foul language in front of children on twitter, he's deleted his account.  His stupidity became painful.  He might actually learn something.

The Iranians are protesting

If you followed the DNC propaganda mills of ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN, you probably wouldn't know about it.  But the Iranian people are out in force, shutting things down.

Tehran was rocked by protests today. Protesters confronted police officers in front of parliament and swarmed Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, forcing its closure (according to this account, though, merchants themselves initiated the shutdown to protest skyrocketing prices). 

Rising prices and other economic woes are, indeed, at the heart of the protests, which in recent days have also forced the closure of major shopping centers in Tehran. Iran’s economy seems to be cratering, and its currency, the Iranian rial, has plummeted to 90,000 to the U.S. dollar on the black market. At the end of last year, it was 43,000.

I will never forget nor forgive Obama for turning his back on the Iranian people in 2009.  He had a chance to fulfill his soaring opinion of himself, and instead left the Iranian people to be brutalized for another seven years, while he bent over and let the Iranian regime fuck America good and hard while we paid for the action.

You know what I haven't seen, lately?  Iranian boats harassing our Navy.  They knew Obama was such a pathetic little bitch that they acted with impunity at every turn.  Somehow Trump doesn't have to deal with things like Iranians taking ten sailors hostage.  Go figure.

Repeat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is heaping more criticism on America's electoral college, this time during an appearance at Oxford in the United Kingdom. 

Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential campaign with 232 electoral votes to President Trump's 306, has previously called for scrapping America's system of electing presidents, instead relying on a direct one-person, one-vote election.

Hillary Clinton is evil.  Evil, narcissistic, corrupt, vain, stupefyingly ignorant, and utterly convinced of her own entitlement.  She's an embarrassment to this country at every turn, every speech, every day.  And that people still flock to her shows more about their lack of character and intelligence than it says about her.

And that's saying something.

The problem with Mexico, is that it's full of Mexicans

Mexicans are flooding across our border because Mexico is a socialist shithole controlled by corrupt politicians, socialists, and the drug cartels.  So naturally, this socialist shitwad is the front-runner to be President of Mexico.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the far-left presidential candidate in Mexico and former mayor of Mexico City,  has called for mass migration to the U.S., saying it is a "human right" for Mexican citizens to enter the United States.

When, not if, this socialist turd-blossom gets elected, Mexico will continue down the path of prosperity and success currently enjoyed by Venezuela, with the resulting migration that makes our border-hopping problems now look like peanuts.  And Mexico will have done it to themselves, but it'll be our problem to deal with.  BUILD THAT FUCKING WALL ALREADY!

Oh, I'm sure there are hard working, god-fearing, stellar examples of humanity in Mexico.  But they're completely outnumbered by the kind of idiots who vote for more socialist stupidity and the same policies that keep people flooding across our border, because they don't have to deal with the actual consequences.  Build that wall, stop the flood of people, make it harder for the cartels to smuggle people and drugs, and watch that pressure crank up on the socialists in charge.  As long as they can pawn their problems off on America, nothing will change.  And things need to change.  We cannot be the world's refugee center, especially when those "refugees" are people just looking for free shit from Uncle Sugar.

A damn good question

Why does a nation of 320 million people need more immigrants?  What exactly do they bring that we cannot find in our country?

To most ears, the question sounds blasphemous, which illustrates the rottenness of our immigration debate. Actually, "debate" is far too generous. One side has made sure that there is no debate. Good people want more immigration, and bad people object or raise questions. An inherently political issue has been effectively rendered religious, with the righteous on one side, sinners on the other. 

The basic question remains. The pat answer over the past 20 years 0-- "to do the jobs Americans just won’t do" -- may seem to have some salience with a 3.9 percent unemployment rate. But that only further begs the question. After at least two decades of wage stagnation and even decline, now that we've finally reached the nirvana of full employment (and who knows how long it will last), why not take advantage of this tight labor market to raise wages across the board? Especially for the working and middle classes that got nowhere or even lost ground during the housing, finance and tech booms of recent years?

3.9% unemployment ain't gonna last forever.  We'll get Democrats in power again at some point, which will further accelerate the destruction of this country and slow the economy up once again.  How exactly does flooding the market with low-skill, low-wage workers help Americans?  Especially those Americans who need those jobs?

And along with taking those jobs, they bring crime, drugs, and various other cultural habits (such as Female Genital Mutilation or kiddy-rape with muslims).

Why do we need that here?

"Trump's Border Separation policy"  That was signed into law by Slick Willy Clinton.  That was used by Bush Jr. and Obama.  But it's Trump's policy?

However, the allegations in this article covered a time period prior to Trump ever taking office. The specific court case cited involves alleged incidents occurring before and during 2016, when Trump was still on the campaign trail and we had a different president. 

That president, Barack Obama, was mentioned exactly zero times in the article.

On separating illegal alien children from their illegal alien parents

I only have one thing to say:  Families that are deported together, stay together!

Staycation

Taking some leave.  Plenty to do around the house, so it was time.  Although there's a risk to staying where you are on vacation - people still call, which was what happened yesterday, so I got to spend a little time at the office.

So there's a big hue and cry about "separating families" of illegal aliens

1 - If the families didn't come here illegally, nothing would happen to them.

2 - How many of these "families" are actually families?  How many are lying through their teeth so that they can gain access to our country?

3 - How many of them are mules for the Mexican drug cartels?

4 - How many of them are human smugglers?  Young kids are still a commodity to the pedo set, as seen in last week's bust of kiddy-diddlers.  And the Mexican cartels want money, which they can gain through using girls and women as prostitutes.  That would be girls and women they promised a better life in America, only to take them and force them into brothels once they had them in their possession.

5 - How many more American children will be separated from their families by illegal aliens through crime and murder?  How many dead American kids does it take before the Left considers the cost too high?  (That's a trick question.  The Left hates America, so there can never be enough dead American kids for their taste.)

You want a solution that won't separate illegal alien kids from their illegal alien families?  Deport them all back at once.  Families stay together!  Problem solved!

Or not.  I have said it before, and some people at work actually rocked back and thought about it when I challenged them with this:  I will accept the prognostications of a "trade war" when they can explain to me why our tariffs are bad, but all the existing tariffs of our trading partners are good.  80% tariff on our steel in Germany, but we don't have that against theirs?  270% tariffs on our dairy products in Canada?  That's "free trade"?  No, that's free-loading trade.

Anyways, those days are on hold for at least a little bit.

This is why they tell you, in between informing you how stupid you are, that there are only a few tariffs out there and they don't matter. Well, they sure as heck don't matter to these think tank jockeys and media scribblers. They are not the guys getting up at 4 a.m. to milk the cows or to harvest the soybeans the tariffs target. They've never worked on a vehicle assembly line in their lives, so what’s it matter to them if Germany’s tariff on US cars is four times ours to theirs? Of course, the tariffs on US products don't matter to the elite. They aren’t the guys who lose their jobs when their company picks up and moves to Vietnam.

Can the GOP establishment stop being idiots just once?  I think we all know the answer to that one.

Why are Congressional Republicans so much more effective at implementing the liberal agenda than the Democrats are? Why do they insist on risking electoral suicide time and time again by trying to jam amnesty down our throats after we keep telling them to jam it elsewhere?

Most of the GOP establishment don't actually believe a damn word of what they say on the campaign trail.  They say what they need to say in order to get the rubes to elect them, and they're pissed off as all get out that the voters are actually demanding that they do what they said they were going to do.

These geniuses have considered all the possible ways to use the limited legislative time available to implement a conservative agenda and decided that the big legislative priority during the ramp-up to the midterms must be handing citizenship to a bunch of future Democrats who shouldn’t even be here in the first place – and all over the thunderous objections of GOP voters.

You would think Jeff Flake getting chased out of office might have been a clue.  But then, if these idiots actually had a clue, the election of Donald Trump over their objections would have been the first one.  But no, they continue to stab America in the back.  Fuck 'em.  Vote 'em out.  Hard.

I've been watching this for about 10 minutes, and I can't stop giggling.

So apparently some Lefty outlet tried to explain how monogamy was just this recent thing made up by bad people, and polygamy is awesome.

And someone came along, and beat them with a clue-bat.  Not that it'll to much good for the Lefties.  What you have to realize is that this wasn't some Lefty trying to figure out why we are the way we are.  This was a Lefty who wanted to normalize his lifestyle (or more likely, his desired lifestyle), and thus created bullshit out of thin air and put it to a video.  For example:

So the Lefty quotes a source to support his claim even though his source directly refutes his claim.  This is classic Leftism.  Because the Lefty didn't think anyone would actually look at his source.  He thought that all his fellow polygamists would nod their heads, say "Oh he's so smart!" and then his video would be used over and over and over until it became canon law.

Rather than explaining monogamy, the Vox video portrays it as something alien and largely useless. It seems like this particular narrative was deliberately chosen before a frame of video had been shot. The expert they interviewed who got much of the detail right was David Barash, yet he was given the least screen time. I suspect they chose him because he wrote a book (which the makers of the video almost certainly did not read) called The Myth of Monogamy. But once they started talking to him they were perhaps disappointed to discover that the title refers to the historical prevalence of polygyny, and not the polyamorous utopia described by Christopher Ryan.

Range Day yesterday

Did OK.  Not up to my usual standard.  This is actually the first time I've ever used an optic on my M4, so it was a little different.  Had I been more familiar I think I could have done better.

Anthony Bourdain has committed suicide.  This sucks.  The guy was a dick.  An entertaining dick, but a dick.  But nobody should go out like that.  As a Catholic, suicide is the one unforgivable sin.  There's no chance to see the Pearly Gates after that, it's straight down through Purgatory and into hell for you when you off yourself.  So don't do it.  Is life on earth so bad that you want to compound it with an eternity in hell?  Not to mention the damage that it does to everyone around you, who has to pick up the pieces of their lives without you.  The damage that a person's suicide does to the loved ones of the deceased is unreal. 

Charles Krauthammer has cancer, and he's only got a couple of weeks to live.  I have several I know, in my family, in my work, and in my personal life that have cancer right now, and I'm getting a little tired of it.  I'm betting there's a few of you out there in the same situation.

And now I get to go back to work today.  So posting will be a little light.

Social Security nose-diving into free-fall

Medicare sucking the hind-tit as well.  Look, this shouldn't shock anyone.  Both Medicare and Social Security were a way for the government to buy votes by robbing Peter to pay Paul, and as usual, whenever there are billions of dollars being stolen from one group, there will be the various human remoras hanging around to get a piece of the action.  Pretty soon, those remoras are getting a bigger and bigger piece of that action.

Not to mention that the whole S.S. "trust fund" is a load of crap - they've been paying benefits out of current year tax revenues ever since I can remember, and blowing any left-over cash on their social programs and other vote-buying legislation.  I'd say that money has run out, but the truth it is ran out decades ago.  They've just been borrowing and printing money ever since then.

If I could, I would destroy Social Security.  It's been nothing but a drain on my finances, and the finances of everyone my age.  It has taken 15% of my economic potential and tossed it down the shitter ever since I started working.  Imagine if I had been able to put that money into an IRA, or a mutual fund.  I'd be rich.  I'd be a damn millionaire.  Hell, even if I had just stuffed it into a savings account I'd be better off than I am now.

Social Security is nothing but a government mandated Ponzi scheme.  Bernie Madoff couldn't conceive of a swindle as big as Social Security.  Let it die.

Anniversary of D-Day

I wish I had nice things to say.  I'm so brain-dead that I can't conjure up the words.  All I can do is imagine what those troops went through, and work to make sure no other generations have to do the same.

An FBI agent got himself into an embarrassing situation on Saturday when his service weapon fell out of its holster while dancing at a Denver club and he accidentally shot a fellow patron while retrieving it. 

Denver police responded to Mile High Spirits Distillery and Tasting Bar for an accidental shooting at about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday. According to police, an off-duty FBI agent was dancing at the club when his firearm fell to the ground. He picked the gun up and it went off, shooting another person in the leg.

This dipshit was grooving like he was on Soul Train, while in an establishment serving alcohol, and attempted a back hand-spring, which is when the gun fell out of his holster.  He then put his booger-hook on the bang-switch while trying to snatch the gun up off the floor and shot a guy in the leg.

How many different levels of wrongness can we find in this story?

Drinking while carrying concealed.
Doing stupid shit while wearing a holster that allows the pistol to slip out.  I mean, seriously, what the hell was he wearing?
Complete and utter failure to follow Rules 1, 2, and 3.  For anyone who might be reading this blog for the first time and don't know what the four Rules are, they are:
1 - Treat every gun like it's loaded.  No exceptions.
2 - Never point your gun at anything you don't want to shoot.
3 - Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
4 - Know your target, and know what is behind your target.

Ah hell, he violated all four rules. 

He then put the gun back in its holster, and just walked off the dance floor like he was going to the house.  Hey, Mr. FBI asshole, maybe check and see if the bullet you just launched from your gun actually hit anything or anyone?

This fucking douche-canoe needs to be fired, hard and fast.  There are fuck-ups, and then there are monumental fuck-ups that require nothing more than leaving your weapon and your badge on your supervisor's desk as you walk out.

And as Insty points out, this ain't the first time that someone from the FBI has gotten this stupid.  Here's a counter-terrorism supervisor who got drunk with "exotic dancers", passed out, and had his firearm stolen.  This particular retard was so drunk his buddies had to call the cops for him.  They still haven't found the gun.  Bravo, people!

All it takes is one or two screw-ups to taint an organization.  As of right now, I don't know if I would trust the FBI to investigate a theater murder-mystery, because someone might get shot due to agent negligence, and they would write a report saying that it was all caused by Trump and Russia.  Someone out there said that Trump's most amazing ability is to cause his enemies to go absolutely batshit crazy.  I'd say that's about right.  We're seeing just how far the FBI has fallen.  Eight years of Obama's corruption has accelerated that fall, but the past year and change have really put them into a nose-dive.  In less than a decade, the FBI has gone from trusted and respected to flawed, corrupt and untrustworthy.  A partisan joke, told poorly, by idiots.

Busy day today

The Mrs. is throwing a dinner party.  It's the kind of thing she likes to do.  I often wonder if she wasn't born at least 100 years too late.  There will be sliders, and chicken, and salads a-plenty, and a s'mores bar that features three different kinds of chocolate as well as candied bacon.

Anyways, the yard has been mowed, I'm cleaning up around the house, and I have a bunch of ice to pick up for the beer coolers.  Too bad y'all aren't in the deep South.  You might just stop by and see what I get to enjoy every day of the year.

Speaking of things to enjoy, the NFL continues to sink.

The National Football League has done nothing to recover during the off season from it’s miserable popularity ratings that are now at the lowest ever. 

Rocked by the issues of players taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, overly long games, and scandalous players, just 35 percent say they have a favorable view of “America’s sport.”

My football watching had gone down quite a bit as more and more players decided to shit all over the national anthem and the flag, but when I saw an entire team kneel down for our anthem, OVERSEAS, and then STAND for "God Save The Queen", I decided that I was done.  I haven't watched a game since.  I won't be watching any more NFL games.  I haven't watched the Super Bowl in a couple of years.  I don't plan on changing that.

Quite honestly, the NFL can just go ahead and die for all I care.  Isn't there another football league that's going to be standing up sometime soon?  I bet they have a ready-made audience.

The Missus and I went to the races

Jackson has it's own speedway.  It's a dirt track, 1/3 mile.  Open bleacher seating.  It's country.  Like, "before bro-country came out and tried to tell everyone that they were country" type of country.

Prayer before the races type of country, with the obligatory "Gentlemen, please remove your hats" before the prayer and the National Anthem.  When the speakers cut out on the anthem, people started singing it until the speakers cut back on.

And dirt being slung six ways from Sunday when the cars came around the track.  The Mrs. had never been to a race on a dirt track before.  She enjoyed herself greatly.  I'm thinking we'll be back.

I need to take some leave.  Got quite a bit done around the house during the weekend, although not near as much as I would have liked.

When the law fails

I seem to keep bringing up Francis Porretto, but the statement of his regarding the Law being a substitute for violence seems to keep being more and more appropriate, especially the part where if the law fails, we reserve the right to violence.  And I can't think of a better example than in Baltimore, where the criminal thug who killed a police officer by running her over with a stolen car was on house arrest for STEALING A CAR, and had failed multiple check-ins.

So, to wit - criminal thug steals a car, gets caught, is put on house arrest, fails to do anything mandated by the courts which should have resulted in the thugs incarceration, but instead he goes out and steals another car, gets caught again, and runs over a cop during his flight, killing the officer.

So what do we have now?  We have two stolen cars, most likely destroyed or parted out, and one dead cop, with one criminal thug now finally in jail.  The law has failed.  It is time that civilized men reclaimed their right to violent retribution.

On that note:  If this fucking thug had stolen my car, and I found out he was on house arrest, he wouldn't have stolen any more cars for a while because I would have tracked him down and beaten him with a baseball bat until he was begging for death.  And then I would have left him to suffer with two broken legs, two broken arms, two busted knees, and various other broken bones that would have kept him in traction for months.  Kinda hard to steal a car when you can't even bend your legs to get in the door, innit?

Kill him?  No, I wouldn't kill him.  Killing him is too easy, too quick.  He wouldn't suffer from a bullet in the head.  And his little thug friends might not even know or understand why it happened, since they tend to shoot each other at the drop of a hat.  But finding your little car-thieving thug pal lying in a pool of his own shit and blood, crying, unable to move because every single bone required for locomotion is broken and splintered?

That'll leave a mental mark.

The case involved two 17-year-old students bullying a 14-year-old freshman, with one holding down the younger boy by his ankles while the other kicked the victim, grabbed his genitals and then took the victim's own baseball bat and began shoving it against his buttocks, simulating rape, through the boy's clothes.  

One of those assailants, the boy who allegedly held down the victim, was Israel's son, Brett. Defense attorney Alex Arreaza, who represents shooting victim Anthony Borges, who was shot five times in the Valentine's Day massacre but survived, said the case could have led to felony charges.
"He could be charged with a lewd and lascivious, and I'm being conservative," Arreaza said.   

Peterson claims in the report that it was a "simple battery" under the board's discipline matrix, and he decided to give both of the boy's attackers a three-day suspension. 

I want you to put yourself in the shoes of a fourteen year old freshman.  You have been held down, restrained, had someone try to shove a baseball bat up your anus, and you've been publicly humiliated.  When you go to the authorities, your attackers are gone for three days, and then they're right back in school with you.  Threatening you.  Telling you what they'll be doing to you later.  And there's nothing you can do about it.

Do you really have to wonder why kids shoot up schools these days?  

Francis Porretto likes to remind people that the law is a substitute for violence, and if the law fails to punish the wrong-doers who have caused people harm, people can and will go back to violence.  I cannot think of any place where young men are assaulted, humiliated and tortured like they are in school.  Not all of them, of course.  In every feral society, there are those on top who do the torturing and assaulting.  But those on the bottom, who have no recourse, will eventually find a way to lash out at those who assault them on a daily basis.

Personally, I think we will see more school shootings, because our schools keep getting worse and worse, and we keep shoving our young men into institutions that criminalize them, drug them to the gills, and allow them to be tortured by bullies and thugs.  And there's no real way out for those young men.  

So, Rivrdog picked it.

The promotion board came out a little bit ago, and I got picked up.  But that's no longer a sure sign that you get promoted; the Army has moved away from instant promotions for NCOs, and that's a good thing.  It's now Select, Train, Educate and Promote.  STEP.  Which means that you get selected, but then you have to go to school and graduate from whatever level of NCO education before you actually pin on your new rank.  And trust me, there's a lot of people who get selected who won't make it.  There's always been people who you look at and wonder just how the hell they got promoted.  This helps weed them out.

So I just spent a couple of weeks at an un-named Army base going through my level of NCO education.  The higher up you go, the less important it is that you can run through a forest with a rucksack, and more important that you understand the operational processes and information preparation of the battlefield.  So this class was created, and implemented this fiscal year for the first time.

Take my word for it, it's no joke.  This class was like getting raped by an entire library of doctrine and regulation until you could repeat it verbatim.  We started with twenty-nine students.  We finished with twenty-four.  And these guys weren't some slack-jawed privates, they were serious troops with plenty of experience.  They had all the scare badges.  About one-third of my classroom worked for SF, or a Ranger battalion, or they taught at one of the various schools.  Multiple deployments.  And five of them got dropped.

This school is going to re-shape the senior NCO levels in a few years.  And I think a lot of dead weight is going to be trimmed.

So anyways, I graduated.  Which means that I will eventually get promoted, once a few things shake out.  It won't happen immediately, but it's guaranteed to happen now.  It was a great day.

Can we all stop pretending that the FBI actually stops crime now?

Un-freaking-real.  Of course, if the definition of "doing their job" includes rail-roading an innocent man into bankruptcy and then lying about it while trying to prevent the public from finding out just what a partisan hit-job it was, then they're doing their job brilliantly!

Cute how this works: Kick off the week with some “the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted” bombast from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, by which he rationalizes that his defiance of subpoenas and slow-walking document production to Congress — which is probing investigative irregularities related to the 2016 campaign — is required by DOJ policy and “the rule of law.” Then end the week with the Friday-night bad-news dump: the grudging removal of DOJ and FBI redactions from a House Intelligence Committee report on Russia’s election meddling. 

Now that we can see what they wanted to conceal, it is clear, yet again, that the Justice Department and the FBI cannot be trusted to decide what the public gets to learn about their decision-making.

People need to be fired.  From the top to the bottom of this shitshow, they all need to be fired or impeached.

Well, shortly after the redactions were lifted late on Friday, The Federalist’s Sean Davis got busy on Twitter, posting side-by-side comparisons of the original heavily redacted pages and the new, more transparent version. The disclosures are stunning. I know this will amaze you, but it turns out the redactions had absolutely nothing to do with concerns about the need to protect national security or pending investigations. Instead, the now-unredacted passages: 

• Elaborate on why the FBI did not believe Flynn had lied, including quotations from Comey’s testimony.

• Reveal that for some period of time during 2016, the FBI conducted a counterintelligence (CI) investigation of Flynn.

• Note that top Obama Justice Department and FBI officials provided the committee with “conflicting testimony” about why the FBI interviewed Flynn as if he were a criminal suspect.

• Illustrate that the FBI and Justice Department originally insisted on concealment of facts helpful to Flynn that are already public.

He actually said that he regrets picking Sarah Palin to be his running mate.

Johnny Boy, she's the only reason you won any states at all.  If it weren't for Sarah Palin, Obama would have won all 57 states and then some.  It wasn't until Palin came on stage that the entire McCain campaign had any hope at all.

And I think that's what really rankles that asshole.  Without Palin, he'd be even more of a laughingstock than he was at that point.

Anywho, now he says he should have picked Joe Lieberman.  You know, THE DEMOCRAT.  Yeah.  That says all you need to know about John Fucking McCain.

Buy guns and ammo

As the Colonel points out, things may never go sideways around you.  But if they do, and you're not armed, you will die.

Liberals who want you disarmed will often point out that you have a higher chance of being killed if you have a gun in your house. This is probably true. After all, criminals have guns in their houses and criminals are more likely to be killed, so that probably skews the numbers. Perhaps the fact that a gun is in your house makes it more likely, to some degree, that you may be killed by it, most likely by yourself, because suicide counts for >60% of gun deaths in America. 

But if you don't have access to effective firearms, and what liberals mislabel “assault rifles” are the best tactical choice, you have a 100% chance of not being able to defend yourself. As the suppressed CDC study that was recently revealed demonstrates, gun use for self-defense happens several million times a year. Unarmed, you have no chance to defend yourself, your family, your community, or your Constitution from threats.

And then buy more ammo.  I'm constrained by the fact that I have to move every two or three years, and they won't move any ammo or things that might go "boom".  Once I have MY house, it's gonna be stock-pile city.

The late night votes on the bill were contentious but successful for pro-life advocates. The bill would ban the option of an abortion if a heartbeat is detected in an ultrasound. Most pregnancies exhibit a heartbeat for the baby as early as six weeks. 

There are exemptions to the rule, such as protecting the life of the mother and other medical emergencies.

Again:  Good.

A refreshing, honest take on Evan McMullin

You know, the guy that the TrueCons pulled out in an attempt to stop Donald Trump from winning the election?

Of course, quite rapidly it became clear that the chances of McMullin actually becoming president were someplace between zero and hahahahahahahaha . . . wait, what? But becoming president was no longer the point. Taught a class on Saturday

I love teaching, and I love motorcycles.  So I figured that teaching the Basic Rider Course would combine my two loves and be a blast!

Which it is.  I love teaching.  But walking on blacktop for ten hours a day puts a hurting on me that takes some time to recover from.  Luckily, my dear wife loves me and kept me plied with scotch on Saturday night.  We went for a good long ride yesterday on the Natchez Trace Parkway.  Perfect weather for it.  Sunny, mid-70's, light breeze.  Went to the one place I knew had non-ethanol gasoline and filled up, because NON-ETHANOL.

Now it's back to the grind-stone.

News media aren't distrusted because of Trump. He attacks them because it works — because they were distrusted long before he went and ran for president. That so many have responded to his presidency by abandoning long-held journalistic principles, while walling themselves off in little self-affirming cloisters, is a danger not just to the industry, but the entire country.

I love that Trump doesn't bother attending these shitshows.  Sarah Sanders made an appearance, and it went just about how you think it would go.  One unfunny comedian (I saw her referred to on Twitter as the bastard love child of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Gilbert Gotfreid) going on and on with an unfunny monologue, which makes sense as she came from "The Daily Show".

These unintelligent, overly-educated asshats exist in order to take down what the DNC tells them and regurgitate it verbatim.  That is their sole reason for existing at this point.  And Trump knows this, so he doesn't bother wasting time on them.  A larger and ever-growing portion of America also knows this, which is why Trump's attacks on the Fake News purveyors is so effective.  And the Media itself is too stupid, too ideological, and too self-absorbed to realize anything.

Let them die.  We don't need the Washington Post or the NYT.  We don't need the Seattle Times or Seattle PI.  We don't need half of the newspapers out there, because they've become editorializing disguised as "news".  Let 'em go.  They're the buggy and horse-whip factories of the 21st century.
