Oh hell yes!

Every illegal immigrant is a spit in the eye of every single person who came here LEGALLY.

More, please.

Pardon me whilst I waddle my fat ass to the sofa

So among other things that happened today, a bright young man at my church was baptized into the faith.  And he had asked me to be his Godfather, and I had accepted.  And it was a beautiful thing.

And then the wives started cooking.

And we ate.

And ate.

And ate.

I was able to stuff down one cookie for dessert.  That's it.  Right now I'm smoking a good cigar and wondering just how far I have to run on Monday to make up for the sheer amount of calories I've consumed today, and will most likely consume tomorrow, as the delightful ladies are cooking an Easter feast.

Definitions

The Ragin' Mrs. and I were having dinner the other night, when she made the remark "I think we have too much convenience food in the house."  And since I didn't quite know what convenience food we had, I asked her about it.  "Well, you know....  um....  we have that ravioli in the fridge."

OK.  So.  My wife thinks that un-cooked pasta, that you have to cook AND prepare a sauce for, is "convenience" food.

Today is Good Friday.  It is the day when our Lord Jesus Christ was beaten, flogged, tortured, forced to carry a wooden cross through a city, and then NAILED to that cross, hung on it for hours, and died.

Only in the knowledge of our salvation through Christ's death can we think about calling today "Good" Friday.

I'm so damn tired

There's something about living in Kalifornia that makes you want to slit your wrists and bleed out while you take a shit on the hood of a Mercedes being driving by yet another self-absorbed asshole who probably is too busy talking on his phone to notice your deficatory prowess.

This fucking state is bat-shit insane, and going deeper into the black hole of lunacy every day, driven by people who are so ignorant of reality that they force themselves to NOT observe any kind of logical reaction to their behavior.

Fuck this place.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day

From a post at Adrienne's Corner -

The moral argument is "guns can't be both good and bad".  This is just a logical thing, and since you will need guns in the hands of the police to take away guns from the hands of private citizens then you're saying guns in the hands of the government are really good and guns in the hands of private citizens are really bad.  And what you've then done is created opposite moral standards for two groups of people who are not differentiated by anything except a concept called "The State".

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, the Truth which shall not be allowed Edition

Via The Smallest Minority:

If you are stuck in a minimum wage job for ten years, the problem is you. If you are trying to support a family for any extended period of time on a minimum wage job, the problem is you. If you don't think the problem is you, the problem is you. If you don't have the skills to get promoted or hired somewhere else, the problem is you. If there aren't any jobs in you area, friggin' move, but I'm betting the problem is still you.

 In my life I've bucked bales of hay, washed dishes (which is how I got started cooking in restaurants), been a line cook, been a security guard (a surprisingly good job, when you have a Military Police background and can demand commensurate pay) and of course, my military career.  In between those jobs I've done a few temp jobs, most of which sucked, but all of which paid the bills.

And after I got done cooking, I never worked for minimum wage.  Ever.  Want to know why?  Because I've constantly tried to learn the skills it took to earn a "living" wage.  I never wanted to be a brainless drone living on minimum wage for a FRIGGIN' DECADE!  Do you know why jobs are minimum wage?  Because those are the jobs that take NO SKILL TO DO!  THEY REQUIRE NO REAL BRAIN FUNCTION!  If you want to make more than minimum wage, LEARN SOMETHING!  Even if it's how to maintain the fryers you're using!  Make yourself valuable to an employer, and you'll be out of the minimum wage bracket in no time.  But as long as you just sit around with your thumb up your ass, and you can be replaced by the next dope-smoking jackass walking in, you're going to be a minimum wage person for the rest of your life.

So, to repeat the phrase....  "The problem is you."

Need Good Music

I'm tired of a lot of things right now, and I need something to lift meup.

That oughta do it.

GO READ IT ALL

And then, if you have school aged children, start taking a long, hard look at what it will take to get them out of the publik skool sistim.

The Seven Lesson Schoolteacher, by John Taylor Gatto.

Because I can guarantee that the damage done to them if they remain in that sistim will be almost impossible to reverse.

Lazy Day today

I've taken out the trash, done some cleaning, and I'll be picking up after the dogs in the yard later.  In the afternoon, choir practice.  But all in all, I'm not going to do much of anything.

Yep.

Friday, March 22, 2013

To quote that great philosopher...

...Ron White - You ever take a shit so big your pants fit better afterwards?

There comes a point where you finish dropping the kids off at the pool, and when you stand up you realize you have produced an object that can only qualify as HAZMAT.  Nothing that looks or smells like that should ever come out of a normal human body.  And as the dogs were frantically throwing themselves at the front door in an effort to escape the stench, I took solace in the fact that they cannot verbalize the torture I just put them through, and thereby gain the Ragin' Mrs' wrath through their squealing.

I figure they'll wake up in a moment or two.  Maybe.

Today's schedule

Wake up.
Go running.
Go to work.
Feel my soul decay for hours.
Go home.

Come home.
Eat Dinner.
Go to bed.

Wash, rinse, repeat for the next few days.

Saint Patrick's Day

Dinner was a corned beef, in a crock pot.  Quartered a red onion, placed the corned beef on top of the quarters, and then filled the crock pot with Guinness up to the bottom of the beef.

Mashed potatos with bacon and onion.

Irish beer bread.

Leeks, braised in the pan that we cooked the bacon in, de-glazed with Jameson's Irish Whiskey.

Gravy made with the liquid from the crock pot.

I'm so full, if I move wrong I might just pop.

So....

Muir puts up a redhead and a brunette nude on DayByDay?

Well then....

Sitting in the morning

Already took the dogs to the park to run them out a bit.

Drinking coffee, smoking a fine robusto, shopping for cigars, and listening to the birds in the trees.  I've been waiting for this all week long.

Bad Wheel

I rolled my ankle yesterday on my run.  Iced it, walked around yesterday, no problem.

Woke up this morning, hopped out of bed and almost fell over.

Dammit.

Seen at my dentist visit

On an Air Force base, no less.

Read the title of the major article.  I had to control my gag reflex for about half an hour after I saw it.  I then flipped it over, covered it up with a year-old "US" magazine and walked away before I lost my temper.  I know that Newsweek is one of the media outlets that performs fellatio on Obama every chance it gets, but this is the kind of bias that explains just how and why Obama won stole a second term.

You want to know why I don't give a shit about the press going under?  Because anything, ANYTHING is better than the shit being put out today.

Later on, I expect Newsweek to offer an article about how Obama's executive orders commanding Jews and Catholics to head to "Re-Education Centers" is going to lead to world peace and anyone who objects to it is a doo-doo head.  Don't mind the smokestacks, that's just where the heretics....  BOOKS, yeah, their books are being burnt.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

And in the same subject as my last post

Well, kinda....

We have a new Pope.

OK, yes, I know, as a Catholic I should be more....  respectful.  More joyful?  More what?

I've had a gin and tonic, I'm bone tired to the point where I go to sleep immediately and wake up exhausted, and while the pope is the leader of the Catholic Church, I don't have any real emotions tied up in a guy from Latin America becoming Pope.  Not yet, anyways.  We'll see what happens in the upcoming years.

Campy

I just watched a movie that took campy beyond campy.  It's like the director deliberately took every stereotype from a bad movie and put it into his movie as an homage.  Even the name screams "CAMPY!"

"Nude Nuns with Big Guns".

Guess what it features?  Go on, guess!

Yeah, and I'm the guy who also watched "Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter".  Deal with it.  Some movies are so bad, they just HAVE to be seen.

Deadline met

Now maybe I'll go back to normal hours at work.  Maybe.

Monday, March 11, 2013

Well now...

Since DayByDay is showing hot topless redheads on top of the page....

Left work tonight

At around 2015 hrs.  Heard a pack of coyotes having themselves a sing-along about a football field away from where my car was parked.  Living here is....  interesting.  I wonder how many fluffy kitties will go missing tonight.

Serves 'em right, the demon-spawned bastards.

I think I just found my new theme-song

Thanks, Sondra!

John McCain is a fucking jackass

Shut the fuck up, you senile piece of shit!

 Is that harsh?  GOOD!  I voted for McCain in 2008, and I have upheld his military service as honorable against Leftists across the country, but damn it, he needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP!  You want to know why the GOP keeps getting it's ass handed to it on a silver platter?  Because of people like John McCain, who as far as I can tell never misses a chance to grease up his ass and bend over for the Democrats when it'll hurt conservatives the most.  Maybe if he was more concerned about the Constitution and less concerned about making sure that Obama's feeeeeewings don't get hurt, he would have won in 2008, and we wouldn't be faced with the knowledge that Obamacare is going to destroy our economy!

But since he can't be bothered to actually uphold the convictions he claims to have, he needs to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

It's come to this

But then, when one party is dedicated to removing the rights of Americans, it always comes to things like this:

The Democratic Whip Just Announced That the Democratic Party Objects to a Resolution That the President Can't Murder American Citizens

Let me say that again:

The Democratic Whip Just Announced That the Democratic Party Objects to a Resolution That the President Can't Murder American Citizens

Fuck those fucking fuckers right the fuck out of this country.  The god-damned fascist pieces of shit.

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

I'm sorry, did you say Hugo Chavez was dead?

Fuck you, Sean Penn, you god-damned commie cocksucker.

Fuck you Jimmeh Carter, you fucking commie appeasing dipshit.

Fuck you, Harry Belafonte, you fucking moron.

Do I need to go on?  WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Hugo Chavez is dead?

Like, really?

Celebrate his death?  Nah.  I'm celebrating the fact that he can't fuck with Venezuela anymore, and that all the fascist douchebags from Hollywood are in mourning.

Fucking idiotic pricks.

Long Days Suck

There's not much for me to blog about, because I've spent most of the day doing brainless, mind-numbing work that reduces my mental capacity to just about zero.

So.....

Yeah, that's for my wife.

CALORIES!!!!!

My wife just made bread pudding.

With doughnuts instead of bread.

And home-made custard.

And vanilla ice cream for on top.

Oh.  Maw.  Gawd.  If I don't show up tomorrow, just send the coroner to pack up my bloated body, because I'll have eaten myself to death tonight.  I think I feel a week's worth of calories coming on in one dessert.

Wishing it were a joke

But it's not.

The Large Labia project.

Otherwise known as "Exhibition Porn for the Anonymous Woman who wants to feel all self-empowered and stuff!"

Is that a bit harsh?  I don't think so.  I can't think of any reason, any at all, why I would take a picture of my wedding tackle and post it on a website for other folks to comment on.  And let's face it - any time you're taking a picture of your vajayjay and posting it online, there are going to be millions of young men fapping like mad and leaving comments designed to get more women to post more pictures of their hoo-haw.

Who the hell thought this idea up, anyways?

!!!!!

0730 hrs

Still nice and cool, sun coming up, shadows cast across my back yard, and I'm sitting outside with a cigar and a cup of coffee.

I've been waiting for this day all week.

Later on, we're going to the range to put holes in paper at a distance.  Then, lunch.  Maybe Portos, maybe some hole in the wall that we discover today.  Today is one of those days you live for, when the rest of your life sucks like a ten dollar whore on payday.

Maybe I've said this before

But whenever I see a video or gif of a skateboarder breaking his face, or some other body part, while doing some extremely stupid trick, I laugh.

A lot.

Sometimes stupidity CAN be painful.

When the Government doesn't give a shit about the law

Example A:  The EPA.

In yet another green folly, the lawless Environmental Protection Agency continues to fine gasoline producers for not using cellulosic biofuels in quantities that don't exist, making only more pain at the pump.

Last month, a federal court dealt a serious blow to the Environmental Protection Agency's renewable fuels push by ruling that the agency exceeded its authority by mandating refiners use cellulosic biofuels, which aren't commercially available. The EPA's lawless response in a lawless administration was to raise its requirements.

Punishing people for failure to use a fuel that DOES NOT EXIST.

I want you to think about that.

And then wonder why these people have not been tarred and feathered yet.

If A, then B

Top Romney Strategist:  No, I wouldn't say the media is in the tank for Obama.

Ragin' Dave:  Brain-dead fuckwits like this "top Romney strategist" is why Romney lost the election.

Oh Great

We go from a sad-sack piece of partisan political shit, to....  worse.  Chuck Hoggle Hagel as SecDef.  So Obama gets the "cover" of having a Republican ruin the military for him.

Just.  Fucking.  Great.

Higher Ed

So, I'm now at a point in my career where if I want to advance past the point I'm at, I need a degree.

"What kind of a degree, Dave?  Gosh this sounds exciting!'

The kind of degree doesn't matter.

"But Dave, surely the military has a specific plan for you to follow!"

No, not on the civilian side.

"But then, what's the purpose of demanding that you have a degree?"

That there is a DAMN GOOD QUESTION!

Look, I love to learn.  I truly do.  A big part of why I enjoy the SCA so much is that there's always something new for me to learn, be it banging on hot metal at a forge, or learning more about brewing, or learning historical formations for group combat.  Most of my advanced education has been self-taught.  But I hate school.  I hate going to school.  I hate sitting in a classroom being yapped at by some nose-in-the-air dipshit who thinks that because they are an expert in their one small field of study they suddenly know everything there is to know about everything.  My experiences in higher education have not been.....  pleasant.  Except for the drug interdiction classes taught by a CID agent, I was bored to tears.

More to the point, if I'm going to learn something, I want a tangible result at the end.  If I learn X, I will be able to do Y.  If I practice at A, I will be able to perform B.  I do not have the patience or the aptitude for learning only for the sake of learning.  I need practical applications, not a treatise on the nothingness of ludefisk.

But this degree bullshit - if I get a degree, do I get promoted?  Maybe.  There's no guarantee, and the way the military bottlenecks higher up, I could be the greatest guy they have on the list at that time but there's STILL no guarantee.  And without a degree, there's certainly no shot.

So I've found an online school - no sitting in classrooms for me, thank you very much.  I'll most likely be starting in April, which means I'll have even LESS time to blog.  Yay.

We'll see just how craptastic my online writing can be!

You say that like it's a BAD thing!

The Obama Regime snivels and whines that the Sequester will cut funding for a department that.....  no longer exists.

Chalk one up for the good guys, then!  Shut that bad boy's line of funding DOWN!  Can we shut down the EPA next?

Playing with blog settings

I wanna see if this works.

Time is not on my side

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to blog about much of anything.  I don't see this changing in the near future.  We'll see.  Expect the level of suckitude to continue at the same pace.

Let the Sequester happen

How many Federal union jobs can we get rid of in one swipe?  I want to find out!

I'm not even getting online until it's almost 2100 hrs.  How the hell am I supposed to blog?

Zipping it up

Ever since I quit smoking cigarettes, my Zippo lighters have been sitting in a box unused.  You don't want to light a cigar with a Zippo, the fuel makes it taste like ass.

Saturday, when I went into my local cigar shop (which is closing, dammit), I found these bad boys.  They replace the inner guts of a Zippo with a torch lighter, so I can now use them for my cigars, burning stuff, and what have you.

So my brass Zippo, with "Molon Labe" inscribed on it?  Back in use.  Booyah, baby.

Random Earworm

I had a Benny Goodman CD years ago that got ripped off.  It had the full version of "Sing Sing Sing" from Carnegie Hall on it, where Gene Krupa wouldn't stop playing.  14 minutes of musical brilliance.  But one of the hidden gems was a short song called "Runnin' Wild".  The Benny Goodman Quartet, with Lionel Hampton on vibes.  I can't keep myself from moving when I hear this song.

That there is music for the sheer joy of making music.

This is what I would like to say

To all my liberal relatives.  Were I still on facebook, I would post it whole and tell my family to choke on it.

First they came for the blacks, and I spoke up because it was wrong, even though I'm not black.

Then they came for the gays, and I spoke up, even though I'm not gay.

Then they came for the Muslims, and I spoke up, because it was wrong, even though I'm an atheist.

When they came for illegal aliens, I spoke up, even though I'm a legal immigrant.

Then they came for the pornographers, rebels and dissenters and their speech and flag burning, and I spoke up, because rights are not only for the establishment.

Then they came for the gun owners, and you liberal shitbags threw me under the bus, even though I'd done nothing wrong.  So when they come to put you on the train, you can fucking choke and die.

 ~~~
Or you can commit seppuku with a chainsaw.  I really don't care anymore.  This is the end of my support for any liberal cause, because liberals have become anything but.
Read it all.  All of it.  This is my internal monologue.
Gratitude
I just had a very humbling night.  Not in a bad way.  I'll post more once I've gotten some sleep.  But it was a night that made me experience a deep sense of gratitude towards quite a few folks.
Had my physical today
....Among other tasks that had to be accomplished.  Blood work-up, BP check, yada yada yada.
BP was 113 over 74.  That's the lowest it's been since it started getting recorded.  As in, ever.  Cholesterol was a tad bit high, but I'd eaten a bacon and blue cheese sandwich the day before they drew blood, so that accounts for most of it.  My good cholesterol, the HDL, was 52.  Supposedly that's a good sign.
All in all, not bad for a broken down, grumpy old shit!  Cigar time!
The Mis-State of the Union
Hell no, I'm not watching it.  I have no wish to listen to that god-damned lying fucking Nazi piece of shit spew his crap.
Monday, February 11, 2013
Wow
They say that you need to know when you can't do what you do any more.  The Pope has come to that realization.
Pope Benedict had to follow in the footsteps of someone who was being called a saint while he was still alive.  He then worked to deal with the fall-out of the homosexual pedophile priests in America, the slow disintegration of the church liturgy and other problems that had been put on the back burner for decades.  He advocated for greater punishment for child abuse in any form, assisted in bringing back the Traditional Latin Mass to America, and pushed for other reforms too many to list.
He's done an admirable job.  And now he's giving up power, willingly, because he knows that he cannot adequately fulfill the position in his physical condition.
That, my friends, is humility.  We all know people who refuse to give up any power, no matter how small or how little.  And here's a man who is giving up being the leader of over a BILLION people world wide, a man who holds a position of incomparable influence, for the good of that organization.
We can only hope that the next Pope comes close to who Pope Benedict is.
The Empty Chair
Not just a rhetorical device.
SEN. GRAHAM: Mr. Secretary, you didn’t know how long the attack would last. Did you ever call him and say, Mr. President, it looks like we don’t have anything to get there anytime soon?
SEC. PANETTA: The event was over before we could move any assets.
SEN. GRAHAM: It lasted almost eight hours. And my question to you is during that eight-hour period, did the president show any curiosity about how’s this going, what kind of assets do you have helping these people? Did he ever make that phone call?
SEC. PANETTA: Look, there is no question in my mind that the president of the United States was concerned about American lives and, frankly, all of us were concerned about American lives.
SEN. GRAHAM: With all due respect, I don’t believe that’s a credible statement if he never called and asked you, are we helping these people; what’s happening to them? We have a second round, and we’ll take it up then.
Obama needs to be impeached, both for Benghazi and for the Fast and Furious debacle.
Ahem....
!!!!!
Slept in
A week full of going to bed way too late, and waking up way too early, has left me someone run-down.  So when I didn't have to set my alarm today, I took full advantage of that and just slept.  The Ragin' Mrs. left me alone and let me recoup some of what I'd lost.
I gotta say, I'm feeling pretty darn good right now.
There's something in the air
Maybe it's smog.  Maybe it's dust and dirt.  I don't know.  But driving to where I had to go today, the air was brown, my eyes were itching and my nose kept running.  It's frigging nasty.
Blah.  Los Angeles.  City of Shitty Air.
Had a chance to visit the local ER last night
The Ragin' Mrs. had a mishap - nothing serious, but painful enough to require a doctor to look at it, and she's got a high pain tolerance so when she's telling me that things hurt, it's most likely out of my first-aid capabilities.
Observation one:  The ER waiting room was packed, and maybe 50% of those folks spoke any English at all.  The native English speakers constituted about 10% of the waiting room.
Observation two:  It was Monday night, and the place was packed.  The staff said that it had been like that since the New Year.  What changed that would make ER traffic pick up and stay up?
Observation three:  There were enough sick kids in that place to make me come home, slather myself in sanitizing gel and pour Airborne down my throat.  Ugh.  Snot and phlegm everywhere.
Observation four:  I don't know if this is apropos of anything but the huge amount of people in the ER were Latino, and one thing we did notice was an abundance of fathers actually being fathers.  Very few single women in there with their kids alone.  If a child was there, most likely their dad was too.  That was good to see.
Observation five:  Four hours of sleep doesn't do Dave very well at all these days.
I don't like stealing
But Ann Barnhardt doesn't do permalinks.  So I'm taking her post whole and putting it here unedited, because I think it's that damn cool.
Meet St. Martin of Tours. He was a fourth century Roman soldier, and like many, many Roman soldiers was also a convert to Christianity. While he was yet being instructed in the Faith and before his baptism, Martin encountered a homeless man begging in the cold. The beggar was barely clothed in just a few rags. Martin, moved with compassion and pity for the man drew his sword, also known as an ASSAULT WEAPON, and cut his own cape in half, and gave half to the freezing beggar.
**I know this story seems completely unbelievable because everyone knows that people who carry and wield ASSAULT WEAPONS are incapable of anything like COMPASSION or CHARITY, but you'll just have to suspend your disbelief on this one.**
That night, Martin had a dream in which he saw Our Lord wearing the half of his cloak that he had shared with the beggar. In his dream, Our Lord said to the angels, "Here is Martin, the Roman soldier who is not baptized; he has clad Me."
Martin was received into the Church and went on to be a manful bishop who fought the heresy of Arianism.
St. Martin's cloak was kept as a relic and was carried into battle by the French Army. The French would set up a special tent on field of battle to house St. Martin's cloak. The word for cloak in Latin is "cappa". The priests who took care of the cloak were thus referred to as the "cappellani". Eventually, all priests charged with the care of soldiers were called "cappellani". The Latin word "cappellani" became "chapelains" in French, which eventually became "chaplains" in English.
How 'bout them apples?
St. Martin is one of the Patron Saints of Soldiers, as well as the Patron Saint of the US Army Quartermaster Corps, of which I used to belong two MOS ago.
Plenty to write about
But I just don't give a darn today.  Life is like that sometimes.
Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Military Edition
A helicopter is a collection of rotating parts going round and round and reciprocating parts going up and down - all of them trying to become random in motion. Helicopters can't really fly - they're just so ugly that the earth immediately repels them.
From an email I received at work today.
Soldiers love animals
No, it's true.  You get a group of Soldiers together in some far-away land, and I guarantee that before long they're going to have some sort of "mascot" tagging along with them.  Dogs, cats, anything.  A Soldier I used to work with actually had a pet camel spider.  And the Polish Army in 1942 had a bear.  (Found the link at Ace's).
Several years ago, I was in training at Ft. Jackson, back when we still wore that damn beret instead of an actual hat.  Every enlisted Soldier's beret had their DUI on it (Distinctive Unit Insignia).  It's a little bit of Army heraldry, which is still alive and kicking in the military.  Some of them are classical heraldry, and some of them....  not so much.  But the one that made me look more than twice was one Soldier who's DUI was quite literally a white dog with black spots, standing over a banner that read "Don't Kick My Dog".  The troop told me (and this is all second-hand knowledge, don't quote me on anything) that way back in the unit's history, they were fighting the Krauts in WWI, and the unit was getting it's butt kicked.  And I mean, kicked, stomped, and just about dead, until the Joes in the unit saw one of the Germans kick the unit mascot, an old hound dog they'd brought with them.  The sight of their mascot being abused by the enemy pissed them off so much that they counter-assaulted, pushed the Germans out and ran them back to their trenches, screaming "DON'T KICK MY DOG!" all the way there.
And a unit motto was born.
Soldiers like animals.  Maybe we just like having some companionship that enjoys being around a bunch of stinky, dirty dog-faced troops and doesn't demand anything more than a scratch on the head.  Maybe we enjoy having something to share the Suck with.  Maybe we just like it when something is happy to see us return.  But sure as shooting, you find a group of Soldiers, you're going to find some four legged friends there with them.
The Power Of A Dog
For Sondra.
The Power of the Dog
by
Rudyard Kipling
There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.
When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But ... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.
When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.
We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-term loan is as bad as a long--
So why in--Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?
I stole the idea from Og.  It seems fitting.
Meh?
Sleeping.  Maybe blog later.
Dear Smokers
If you voted for Romney, then I'm very sorry that you'll have to now deal with Obamacare and it's ever-expanding costs.
If you're a smoker who voted for Obama, then FUCK YOU and PAY UP, BITCHES
Raining
No running for me this morning.
Oh, it's not the rain that keeps me indoors.  It's the fact that I'm in the middle of an urban area where the drivers may or may not have a clue as to how to drive in the first place (guess which side I'm taking on that!), and the sound of tires sliding on wet pavement going on outside my door makes me NOT want to go jogging when some texting dipshit decides to leave his hands off the wheel long enough to hop out of the road and turn the sidewalk I'm running on into a bumper-cars pavilion.
Rain doesn't scare me.  Getting smooshed while Pedro the texting jackass sends out his 100th "LOL!!!11!" of the day would really, REALLY put a crimp into my plans for the weekend.
Dave Want
New stock for the Mosin-Nagant.
DAVE WANT!
Of course, it costs more than the rifle cost me originally, but still.....
Women in Combat?
I was at work when I heard this load of crap:
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is ending the military’s ban on women serving in combat.
The move could open up more than 230,000 jobs that had been previously closed to women by overturning a 1994 ban on female servicemembers in small combat units.
This pretty much confirms that Leon Panetta is nothing more than a Leftist douche-tool who's main goal has been to allow the beginning of the destruction of the military.
Here's an idea!  Open up every single job in the military to women, but do away with the female standards for the Army Physical Fitness Test.  See how that flies, eh?
Look, men and women are different physically, alright?  There's no denying it.  When I did my short tour in Afghanistan, I wore a total of 62 pounds of gear, weapon and ammo.  And I had one of the lightest loads by far.  Most Infantry carry 100+ pounds of gear and ammo.  It is not uncommon for folks in the combat arms to carry 130 to 150 pounds of gear, ammo and weapons systems.  Do you really think the average woman is going to be able to do that?  Without seriously degrading the combat effectiveness of the unit?
Hell, I saw it in action when I was an MP.  "Dave, you need to carry the gun.  PVT Female can't carry it.  Dave, you need to load the fuel and water.  PVT Female can't carry the weight.  Dave, you need to get the ammo to the truck.  PVT Female can't carry the weight."
I have seen what the military is going to, and IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!
DOES!  NOT!  WORK!
I really can't wait until I can retire.
You wanna know what they think of you?
Watch this entire clip, but pay attention to the last five seconds.
Fucking god-damned fascists.
If a picture is worth a thousand words
Then what, exactly, is video worth?  Because I can't think of anything that shows just what a classless fucking cunt Moochell Obama is.
Yeah, I said it.  Classless.  Fucking.  Cunt.  Welcome to four more years!
Monday, January 21, 2013
So here it is
The second coronation of the Marxist Messiah, the Communist Christ, the Teleprompter Jesus, the Left's Lord, God, Savior and King, Barack Hussein Obama the Nazi.
Four more years of Obama the Nazi and his fascist regime.  The damage that will be done to this country will be impossible to correct or fix.  We are essentially watching the downfall of our Weimar Republic and the raising of our Adolph Hitler.  And as pissed off as I am that Obama the pissy-pants tyrant is once again going to infest the Oval Office for another four years (at least), I'm even more pissed off at the country who elected him.
That's right, I'm furious that this country is so full of whiny, sniveling, spineless, gutless parasites.  The Parasite class is now firmly in control, and the productive class is in decline.  And sorry, but there's no way to reverse that.  We've passed the event horizon.  The only thing we have to look forward to is further decline into a failed socialist state.  And I'm pissed.
Right now, my only goal is to make sure that 'Me and Mine" are taken care of.  My answer to every beg for charity is going to be a question:  "Who did you vote for?".  Voted for that god-damned Nazi piece of shit Obama?  Then FUCK YOU, die screaming.  If you voted for that god-damned Nazi Obama, then I wouldn't piss in your mouth if your teeth were on fire.  Fuck off and die screaming.
This country has decided to pay for all their "free" bullshit by making my generation pay.  And the next generation.  And the next.  And the next.  And the next.  There is no way that any one generation can wipe out the debt that this country has just voted for.  There is no way they can pay for it all.  And so they've enslaved countless numbers of unborn children who will spend their lives paying for the socialist pipedreams of this country.
Ask Greece how that's working out.  Ask Spain.
I'm going to spend the day making various foodstuffs and drinking booze, and keeping myself away from polite company, because every time I see or hear that god-damned Nazi fuckhead's voice I'm going to mutter things that are best kept away from women and small children.
A nation of Beta males has re-elected the ultimate Beta male to lead rule them.  (fixed by Gerry N.)
Brewing Day
Spent a good portion of the day turning various ingredients into what will be sweet, alcoholic tasty goodness.
Straight mead, made with buckwheat honey and a sherry yeast.
Apple Cider.  Turning into hard apple cider.
Then we have three test batches kicking - a rodemel (mead and roses), a hibiscus mead, and a lavender mead.
I don't know quite when it'll be finished, but I'll let you know how it tastes.
Another workout
And another morning of waking up and wondering who took a baseball bat to my entire body while I slept.
I hate getting old.  BUT.....  it's the fact that I wasn't doing these workouts that allowed me to get a little flabby in the first place.  If I had been working out this hard to begin with I wouldn't be hurting right now.  I've allowed myself to get a little complacent with running and doing basic muscle failure; what I'm doing now is pretty much hand to hand fighting while wearing multiple pounds of armor, and I'm feeling the pain as my muscles and joints remember just what the hell they're supposed to do.
Hopefully it won't hurt as much as I get better at it.
Gonna watch this later
Because paying bills is a bit more important than watching video at this o'clock in the morning, but I'll be watching both of these videos when I get home.
Any chance to see Piers Morgan get beaten with a clue-bat is a good one.
Doing the Job that American Media won't do
Another fascist progressive shows the Left's true colors, and plans on assassinating a Republican official.
In this case, Scott Walker of Wisconsin.
If this loon had been a conservative trying to kill a Democrat, it would be national news.
I listened to "the speech"
You know, the one where Obama the Nazi and his fascist regime lay forth their plans to do away with the 2nd Amendment.
It's the same shit, different day.  Literally.  Their song hasn't changed, just the year that it's being sung in.
Two wrongs don't make a right
But according to the Ragin' Mrs., three wrongs make a comedy.
Discuss.
Political Theater
New York passes a bill banning scary looking guns and normal-sized magazines.  Criminals all over the state don't do a damn thing different, because they don't give a shit about the law to begin with.
Seriously folks, a standard magazine for a Beretta 92FS is now illegal in New York.  Not an EXPANDED magazine.  Not an ENLARGED magazine.  A STANDARD MAGAZINE is now illegal in New York.
Congratulations, you fucking communist shitstains.  This will do exactly JACK and SHIT for your crime rate, as there is absolutely no hope whatever of criminals exclaiming "Oh me oh my, I can't possibly purchase THAT gun from my black market vendor!  Why, that magazine carries EIGHT BULLETS!  That's ILLEGAL!"
But then, the National Socialist Democrat Worker's Party knows that.  They just want any excuse to do away with the 2nd Amendment.
It needs to be remembered
Especially with all the Lefties getting faux-outraged by the very thought that their Lord, God and Master might just get a bit tyrannical with the government:
Rounding up people and sending them to concentration camps (whether called "reservations" or "relocation centers"). Check. (Treatment of Native Americans.  Japanese-American "Relocation Centers" during World War II).
Illegal medical experiments involving infecting people with diseases, not treating them, and observing the effects done on people without their knowledge or consent. Check. (Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment--and particularly interesting how that was "explained" to the victims as they were getting free health care from the US Government.)
Arbitrary searches of American citizens' households aimed at the seizure of property without either probable cause or any kind of warrant. Check. (post-Katrina gun Confiscation)
Laws passed allowing the indefinite detention of American Citizens without due process of law. Check. (NDAA 2012)
American citizens going about their daily business being stopped and searched again without probable cause or any kind of warrant (or even the "reasonably articulable suspicion" for a "Terry Stop"). Check. (TSA, not just at Airports, but at bus terminals, rail and subway terminals, highways, even High School Proms.)
Yeah, I copied a lot of it, because I want it spread.  Go read the rest.
Trying to keep Sunday's non-political for now
I'm sending a retirement gift off to someone - cigars.  Multiple varieties, all of which represent his life at some stage or another.  And I'll be printing this poem out and sending it with them:
The Betrothed
            "You must choose between me and your cigar."
            --BREACH OF PROMISE CASE, CIRCA 1885.
 Open the old cigar-box, get me a Cuba stout,
 For things are running crossways, and Maggie and I are out.
 We quarrelled about Havanas--we fought o'er a good cheroot,
 And I know she is exacting, and she says I am a brute.
 Open the old cigar-box--let me consider a space;
 In the soft blue veil of the vapour musing on Maggie's face.
 Maggie is pretty to look at--Maggie's a loving lass,
 But the prettiest cheeks must wrinkle, the truest of loves must pass.
 There's peace in a Laranaga, there's calm in a Henry Clay,
 But the best cigar in an hour is finished and thrown away--
 Thrown away for another as perfect and ripe and brown--
 But I could not throw away Maggie for fear o' the talk o' the town!
 Maggie, my wife at fifty--gray and dour and old--
 With never another Maggie to purchase for love or gold!
 And the light of Days that have Been the dark of the Days that Are,
 And Love's torch stinking and stale, like the butt of a dead cigar--
 The butt of a dead cigar you are bound to keep in your pocket--
 With never a new one to light tho' it's charred and black to the socket.
 Open the old cigar-box--let me consider awhile--
 Here is a mild Manilla--there is a wifely smile.
 Which is the better portion--bondage bought with a ring,
 Or a harem of dusky beauties fifty tied in a string?
 Counsellors cunning and silent--comforters true and tried,
 And never a one of the fifty to sneer at a rival bride.
 Thought in the early morning, solace in time of woes,
 Peace in the hush of the twilight, balm ere my eyelids close.
 This will the fifty give me, asking naught in return,
 With only a Suttee's passion--to do their duty and burn.
 This will the fifty give me. When they are spent and dead,
 Five times other fifties shall be my servants instead.
 The furrows of far-off Java, the isles of the Spanish Main,
 When they hear my harem is empty, will send me my brides again.
 I will take no heed to their raiment, nor food for their mouths withal,
 So long as the gulls are nesting, so long as the showers fall.
 I will scent 'em with best Vanilla, with tea will I temper their hides,
 And the Moor and the Mormon shall envy who read of the tale of my brides.
 For Maggie has written a letter that gives me my choice between
 The wee little whimpering Love and the great god Nick o' Teen.
 And I have been servant of Love for barely a twelve-month clear,
 But I have been Priest of Partagas a matter of seven year;
 And the gloom of my bachelor days is flecked with the cheery light
 Of stumps that I burned to Friendship and Pleasure and Work and Fight.
 And I turn my eyes to the future that Maggie and I must prove,
 But the only light on the marshes is the Will-o'-the-Wisp of Love.
 Will it see me safe through my journey or leave me bogged in the mire?
 Since a puff of tobacco can cloud it, shall I follow the fitful fire?
 Open the old cigar-box--let me consider anew--
 Old friends, and who is Maggie that I should abandon you?
 A million surplus Maggies are willing to bear the yoke;
 And a woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a Smoke.
 Light me another Cuba--I hold to my first-sworn vows,
 If Maggie will have no rival, I'll have no Maggie for spouse!
Made me Laugh
Go over to Headmissy's place and take a gander.
Adding to this argument
As to why David Gregory needed to be prosecuted under D.C.'s gun laws.
Why is the law important? If Gregory clearly violated the law, but there is no interest to be served in prosecuting him, doesn't that prove that the law is not important? If the precise thing that he did — which is clearly what is defined as a crime — raises no interest in prosecution, how can we be satisfied by letting this one nice famous man go? Rewrite the law so that it only covers the activity that the government believes deserves prosecution, so there is equal justice under the law.
Let me add my two cents to that - If the law is so unimportant that the D.C. police can't be bothered to enforce it when one of the political favorites violates it, then I have no interest in following ANY of the laws of D.C., because they've just proven that rather than being based in objective reality and moral certainty, the laws of D.C. are subjective, capricious and based on political favoritism.  And since their laws are subjective, capricious and based on political favoritism, I do not have the obligation to follow them that I would have with objective laws based on moral certainty.
Now, add in the fact that the Attorney General refusing to prosecute the politically favored David Gregory is a friend of David Gregory and his wife....
Nobody has an obligation to follow rules written by and for the new monarchy of D.C.
More things what make me laugh
Heard on the news today:  "Bitterly cold temperatures in California......"
Baby, you don't know what cold is.  This entire state doesn't know what cold is.  I just came from WISCONSIN.  THAT state knows what "COLD" is!  I'm talking snot-freezing, dick-shrinking, cold enough to make 33 degrees feel like tropical heat COLD.  Nipples hard enough to cut glass kind of cold!  Turn your diesel fuel into gel cold!  Your car engine won't crank because it's frozen solid cold!
"Bitterly cold" in California.  BAH!  And HA!
"We have to pass the bill to find out what is in it"
We all remember that, don't we?  Yeah, you know we do, when that fucking communist cunt from California opened her stretched out piehole and bleated one of the most idiotic things she's ever said, and that's saying something.
Well, well, well....
It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.
According to reports, that amendment says the government cannot use doctors to collect "any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition."
CNN is calling it "a gift to the nation's powerful gun lobby."
And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that's exactly right. He says he added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.
Fuck you, Nancy Pelosi, you god-damned fascist bitch.  Fuck you Obama, you jack-booted nazi bastard.  And fuck anyone else who has helped us slide down to this point, where the thought of the PRESIDENT willfully violating the Constitution is not just a fear, but a reality.
I just think that using the freedom-destroying Obamacare bill as the method to throw their gun control back into their faces is some delicious irony.
DAMN SKIPPY!
About damn TIME!!!!
He isn’t playing a game; he’s fighting a war, and it better dawn on the GOP that Obama doesn’t want to just shift the needle a bit. He wants us defeated, disarmed and docile so he can turn us into the progressive, extra-Constitutional Utopia his faculty-lounge buddies have been fantasizing about for the last century.
Obama and his minions are serious about defeating us, so we need to be serious about defeating them. Let’s banish cheesy talk about “Working together for the good of the country.” The only thing that is good for this country right now is defeating Obama’s leftist agenda, fully, completely and in detail. You can’t work with him, you can’t compromise with him, you can’t convince him. He’s a progressive Terminator and the Constitution is Sarah Connor.
You have to beat him, and that means counterattacking to seize the initiative by getting on the scoreboard with some wins and restoring our team’s morale.
But that's IF our GOP "representatives" have the balls.
Busy time
Light on the free ice cream for a while.
Physically, I hurt.  Crap I would have bounced back from ten years ago now takes me a while.
Getting old sucks.
That is all.
Yep.
I'd love to comment
On the sheer amount of fuckwittery going on at the Federal level, but there's just too damn much.
Chuck Hagel?  WTF?  He has extreme negatives and positives.
John Fucking Kerry as SecState?  Well, at least he won't be in the Senate the next time he gives a commie dictator a blowjob.
Stupid fucking morons finally waking up too late?  Just...  fuck you, you worthless, kool-aide guzzling douche tools.  Go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself, m'kay?  Maybe if you weren't such a bunch of slack-jawed, half-wit, drooling-on-yourself retards you wouldn't have voted for the guy who wants to spend your future for his Marxist pipedreams.
All the gun-control tyrants of the National Socialist Democrat Worker's Party coming out of the woodwork?  Come for my guns, you'll get my bullets first.  One at a time, in high velocity.  Go fuck yourself, you jack-booted facists.
Hobby Lobby being forced to choose between it's religion and it's business?  Is there any more clear example of why the facist Obama regime is the death of America?  More importantly, the fact that the facist Obama regime was re-elected is the evidence of the death of America.  I expect Christians to be forced to wear yellow crosses soon enough.  And plenty of the gutless sheep would do it, too.
My mom, my dear sweet mother, one of the most rational people I know, is making plans on what to do when the government slides farther down it's facist death spiral.  Yeah.  Isn't that fun?
Screw this, I'm having a cigar and a scotch.
*clears throat*
GO SEAHAWKS!  BOO-YAH, BABY!
That is all.
I am officially turning into my father
I just called in a noise complaint on a bunch of drunken shitheads who think that blasting loud music and screaming drunken slogans at 0100 hrs seems to be a grand idea.
Fuck the fucking fuckers.  I woke my ass up way too early, to go running and spend a full day at work.  I want to sleep.  If you want to be stupid drunk sluts take your skanky asses to a club.  Get the fuck out of my neighborhood with that bullshit.
GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN, YOU STUPID KIDS!
So yeah, I'm turning into my dad.  Hopefully I do him proud.
This job I currently perform
Is the worst job I have ever experienced in my Army career.  The combination of desk-jockying, pencil-pushing bullshit, nit-picky crap, leadership that couldn't lead troops into a titty bar serving free beer, and twelve hours a day in a windowless office doing what boils down to data entry combines into one gigantic black hold of suckitude.  It's like a bad dream where I keep waking up in the same horrible nightmare, over and over again.
This job makes me wonder just how much I want to stay in the Army.  It's that bad.  I couldn't think of a worse job to be stuck in.  I'd rather be out in the field.  I'm asking my higher HQ to deploy me to Afghanistan just about on a weekly basis, and they're laughing at me.  They don't think I'm serious, I guess.  You would think after the fourth time they would get the hint.
A good way to start the year
Senator Dianne Feinstein,
I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma'am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.
I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.
We, the people, deserve better than you.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
!!!!!
I think it's about time, hell, well PAST time we tell the anti-constitutional fuckheads to go piss up a rope.
