Mark These Words

Here we find excerpts from an article in Le Monde that recognizes the pro-democracy surge in the Middle East and manages to (begrudgingly, no doubt) toss some credit to President Bush.

Here's where the word marking comes in.

Talk to a Leftist lately about Ronald Reagan and the Cold War? Me neither.

But when I used to do so, I found that by the mid-Nineties they had found themselves a new mantra:

"The Soviet Union was already collapsing. Gorbachev saw this and made the only decision he could. Reagan maybe sped things up a little bit, at most. But the Soviet Union would have collapsed anyway."
Maybe you've heard that one, too.

This is what is next for President Bush and the Middle East.

Even the blindest Lefty can see what is happening. Some moonbats will say the freedom of democracy is just the freedom to be ruled by Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and ChevronTexaco. But those toward the center from the moonbats will need something new -- some way to deny President Bush any credit whatsoever for reforms in Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

What will it be? What will the mantra be???

The mantra will be that the regimes of the Middle East were "already collapsing". It'll be about modernization, Internet, media, globalization, it'll be about any. other. reason. Leftists can find to explain why oppressed people rise up to shed their shackles. Bush was just along for the ride.

Make a note of it.

Danny Glover can kiss my ass

So can any mouth-breathing leftist who drones on about how great Cuba is. Piss off, screw you, blow me, and go suck on a shotgun barrel.

Why, you ask?

This is why.

There was, at the time of this, the policy of the Clinton administration to deny access to the US Naval base by refugees. One day, while I was serving as part of a reactionary force, a group of refugees were spotted heading towards the base. As the reactionary force, it was our duty to react to whatever came up. We did so in this case as well.

We deployed in the vicinity of the fenceline. We met the refugees as they approached, and with weapns in hand, denied them entry to the base. They had managed to traverse a kilometer deep minefield covered by towers with machine guns to get to this point. They had left everything they had ever known in order to get out of there. And we stopped them. We had orders. We had our orders, so we followed them. After enough shouting and threatening, the refugees eventualy gave up and headed back. Back into Cuba. While I was sweating my balls off under the hot sun, these refugees made a mistake. They had gotten through the minefield the first time, but they had not followed in their own footsteps going back. While I was thinking to myself how I wish these people would hurry up and go back so that I could head back to someplace with air-conditioning, one of them stepped on a landmine.

That explosion touched my world.

Then, I witnessed the worst thing I ever saw in my life.

As the dust cloud wafted away from those refugees, nobody ran. Nobody screamed. Nobody said anything.

They just laid down to die in the middle of a minefield that was the sun's anvil.

Think of how badly you would not want to die like that. Think about that real hard. Think about slowly dying of exposure in a minefield. Think about what would make you risk such an outcome. Think about it real hard, and then remember that as bad as that was, it was better than going back.

Despair was once described to me by a college english professor as "the death throes of hope." That day in the minefield was despair incarnate, and it was the worst thing I have ever seen with mine own eyes.

Make a fucking documentary of that.

How many of these damn leftists giving Fidel Castro a metaphorical blowjob ever wonder why people are willing to risk death by swimming 90 shark-infested miles to get to the USA? I wonder if Danny Glover ever swam with sharks? I wonder if he ever risked his life to do anything?

I wonder if Jimmy Cah-tah ever stopped to wonder why Cubans would rather die than stay in Cuba? I wonder if any of those damn leftist idiots and drones ever wonder why people would risk everything they hold precious in order to get off of that island?

Probably not. If they actually did any thinking, they wouldn't be Leftists, would they?

Linky Love!

Time to spread some love around through the blogosphere! (Not like that, you pervert! Get that thought out of your head! I'm married!)

DANEgerus has a whole host of links that you should peruse when you can, including China's latest threats of war against Taiwan, more news on Hezbollah in Syria, and an interesting bit of history on the CSS Virginia (formerly the USS Merrimac).

Captain Ed of Captain's Quarters has three different posts on John McCain. Mr. Clean?, Screaming Hypocrisy: NYT, and Revisiting the Keating 5. A couple of things have made me start taking a look at McCain in a different light. The very first thing was the claims that Bush had attacked McCain's patriotism in the 2000 election. That was flat out BS, but those claims didn't come from McCain's lips, so I ignored them for the most part.

Then came McCain-Feingold.

Anything that limits the 1st Amendment cannot be a good thing. But I still kept mostly silent, for the reason that I didn't have what I thought was a good enough understanding of the legislation to open my yap. But now finding out that bloggers could be up on the chopping block was the last damn straw. I dove into publications and explinations, finding out everything that I could on McCain-Feingold and the people assocciated with it.

And what I found out is that McCain isn't nearly the conservative he wants people to think he is. In fact, he's pretty damn dirty. The Republican party would do well to dump him like a bad habit. Follow the links to see what I mean.

(I don't actually think that the Republicans will dump McCain, because like all politicians, their primary focus is gaining and retaining power, and McCain gives them that. But they SHOULD dump him, for the good of the party and this country.)

And last but not least, Kim du Toit has dug up the history on Bush's appointment to the UN, John Bolton. Short short version? Hoo-fucking-rah!

Anywho, back to work. Go read and enjoy!

Joe's Dartblog: Europe Limps Toward The Uptake

R. Gregory Stevens dies in the home of Carrie Fisher

According to the Washington Times Mr. Stevens spent much of his life promoting Republicans and their ideals in, among other places, Hollywood:

A native of San Clemente, Calif., Mr. Stevens began his career working for the California Republican Party, and later worked on the Bush/Quayle 1988 presidential campaign. ............

"He was very popular, and had tons of connections in Hollywood," said Haley Barbour, one of the firm's founding partners, who resigned to take office as governor of Mississippi in 2004. "They found him fun, engaging, energetic. Just the way people in Washington did," Mr. Barbour said yesterday from his Jackson office. ...............

Mr. Stevens served on the 2001 presidential inaugural committee, where he recruited numerous celebrity performers. For the most recent inauguration, Mr. Stevens reached out to Hollywood, trying to invite numerous celebrities to perform. ..........

"He was in good shape," Miss Fisher recalled. "Tons and tons of people saw him. He was Greg." She said Mr. Stevens returned home shortly afterward, and the two watched the 1942 classic film "Mrs. Miniver," then went to bed. The next morning they had planned to have brunch and tango lessons with other houseguests. Miss Fisher said she went to his room and Mr. Stevens was lying on his back in the bed. "He passed away here, and in a place where he was loved," Miss Fisher said yesterday from her home in Los Angeles.

Being the Star Wars fanatic that I am, I think it's pretty awesome to see Carrie Fisher showing friendship, kindness, and respect to a dedicated Republican like Mr. Stevens. RIP Mr Stevens. Thank you, Carrie.

Democracy in Lebanon

I've been surfing a few blogs, trying to get caught up, and I notice all the good news about Lebanon.

Kick ass!

Seriously, I don't know who's been putting all the hot Lebanese chicks waving flags on all the news photos, but they need to keep it up!

In all seriousness, I think that while developments are good, we need to just keep one thing in mind: It ain't over yet, and it ain't gonna be easy. Just as there is much work left to be done in Iraq, if Lebanon manages to kick Syria out there won't be elections overnight. It will be a start, and a damn good start at that, but there will be much work to be done.

I'm not trying to downplay the events, just warning people to not be overly flighty about the current events. Nothing happens on it's own; sometimes you have to keep watch and give it a nudge every now and then.

Sorry for the lack of posts.

I've been busy with the Army as of late, drilling and trying to ensure that I get down to Puerto Rico in good time. I've barely had time to breathe, and in the ranks of priorities that I have, breathing comes before blogging.

I'll be back to my ranty goodness in a little while.

You think your Social Security is yours?

Nuh uh.

"Your estimated benefits are based on current law. Congress has made changes to the law in the past and can do so at any time. The law governing benefit amounts may change because, by 2042, the payroll taxes collected will be enough to pay only about 73% of the scheduled benefits."

Folks, once the government gets that money supposedly earmarked for Social Security, any claim you have on it is over.

Done. Finite. Finished, destroyed, gone.

And remember, the government isn't just getting that 7.5% that you see on your paycheck. Your employer also pays 7.5% of your pay to the government in Social Security payments. Which means that for those folks out there who are self employed? Yep, they get to pay the whole 15%. And not only are you NOT entitled to any benifits beyond what Congress deems fit to give you, the Social Security administration admits that time is running out on the program! THEY PRINT THAT FACT ON THE BACK OF THE STATEMENT!!!!!!

I don't know why more people in the 20-30 year age bracket aren't howling about Social Security right now, because they are getting RIPPED OFF! Hell, I'M getting ripped off! Anyone who pays into this ponzi scheme is getting ripped off, because you have no claim to that money once the government has it in it's grubby, corrupt little fingers! And the return you get on that money is so small it's not even laughable.

Right now you would get a better return by just sticking your money into a savings account and letting it sit for forty years. Abolish Social Security.

But I didn't watch the Oscars yet again, and I really don't give two hoots about who won or who gave what speech, or who wore what designer dress. I don't care. In fact, I don't care to the extent that I have avoided any and all Oscar news.

Well, maybe "don't care" is too light. I feel that the entire Oscar celibration USED to mean something, but in recent years has decended to nothing but one big massive circle jerk amongst the glitterati, not of which means anything to anyone outside of their small, politically correct circle. We already know that the people who choose Oscars do so without any rules or standards to guide them, and it seems more like some big political convention mixed with massive bouts of masturbation rather than a night to celebrate actual art. And let's be frank, the number of movies that can fall into the catagory of "actual art" are few and far between these days. I'm still waiting for a beheading of whoever thought "White Chicks" would be a great idea.

Anyways, that's my opinion.

What, again?

What is it with so called "main stream" journalists who continue to try to prove that bloggers aren't as super special as they are?

In truth, "blogs" are nothing more than a relatively new way of distributing information, just as radio, television, newsprint, and conventional Web sites once were. Blogs differ from other media in that they provide links for easy referencing, they're more easily and quickly updated (and, consequently, many times less carefully edited), they allow for more interaction between reader and publisher, and there's virtually no barrier to entry — meaning just about anyone can start his or her own blog. You don't need to win the approval of an editor. You don't need start-up money from a publisher. You don't need a radio tower.

Bloggers also can operate outside the "rules" and standards — in terms of attribution, verification of sources, objectivity and concerns for libel and lawsuits — that are supposed to govern traditional journalism.

Now, I don't even own a TV right now, and I've never had cable, so I don't really watch Fox News. So I have no idea who this Radley Balko is, and I've never heard of his blog "The Agitator". But what Mr. Balko fails to note is that if the Has-Been Media actually operated under the rules that they were supposed to, we wouldn't have CBS's Memogate, or the Jayson Blair scandal at the New York Times. What I get from Mr. Balko is nothing more than an egotistical sense that we bloggers should just stay where we belong and not bother the ivory tower that he and the rest of the establishment media lives.

What a crock.

For one, the blogosphere has never tried to be the same as the Lame-Stream media. We don't want to be like Mr. Balko and his cohorts. However, if the Mass Media had been doing what journalists are SUPPOSED to be doing, political blogs and media watching blogs would have never come into being. They would be nothing but efforts by fringe lunatics like DU. But when a blog is the first piece of media to break a story about a presidential affair, when a blog is the first to show that one of the major broadcasting networks is hoisting a fraud on American TV viewers, then I'd say that you had better start giving those people running blogs some credit. By downplaying blogs, Mr. Balko is in effect playing up the so-called Mainstream Media. And right now, the Mainstream Media carries as much significance with me as a dusty pile of rat droppings, and my opinion of them is dropping on a daily basis.

Mr. Balko is just the latest in a long line of has-been media clowns to try and put down the blogosphere. He won't be the last, and he'll be just as wrong as the rest of them. I'd say I'm surprised that a member of Fox News would be just another ignorant asshole, but I'm not.

Because they're part of the Has-Been Media themselves.

Here we go again

Oh yay. Yet another lawsuit by a bunch of liberal crapweasels who want to tell America how to live and how to act.

A consumer group has filed suit against the Food and Drug Administration for failing to make good on a 20-year-old promise to consider regulating salt in the food supply.

Let's look at that paragraph, shall we? Especially this part: "for failing to make good on a 20-year-old promise to consider regulating salt in the food supply". Who's to say that the FDA didn't consider regulating salt and deciding not to? No, this lawsuit is filled with weasel words, and it's not that the FDA didn't consider regulating salt in food, it's that the FDA chose NOT to regulate it, and that's what has got this group of arrogant fucknozzles pissed off.

According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (search), the watchdog group behind the lawsuit, salt consumption (search) for adults in America has drifted upwards over the past three decades. The group estimates that the daily consumption of salt is near 4,000 mg per day — nearly twice the recommended amount.

Uh huh. And how do they get around to figuring these numbers out? Who the hell knows? None of their research is available, which causes me to utter "BULLSHIT!" on a frequent basis. Show the proof, or shut the hell up, I say!

The CSPI says that packaged food nutrition labels have failed to reduce Americans’ sodium intake to recommended levels, and that cutting the nation’s sodium intake could substantially reduce the incidence of health problems associated with high blood pressure.

And The RDBDS (Raging Dave Bullshit Detecting Society) would like to point out just HOW this group of busybodies, nosey shitstains, and egocentric cases of cranial-rectal impaction want to lower your salt intake:

By preventing you from getting any salt. Regulating it. Withholding it based on what THEY want you to eat. And getting the government to do all the work for them.

What happens when they decide that beer is bad for you? Or how about red meat? What happens then? Another lawsuit, with this group of liberal fucktards telling you how to live once again "for your own good"?

You can go read the rest if you want to, it's all the same bullshit. Here's what I want to point out - we've already had lawsuits agains tobacco, lawsuits against fast food, and now a lawsuit against the FDA for not regulating salt. All in the name of "The Public Health", or "The Common Good", or "I get my jollies forcing people to do stupid crap through lawsuits" or something else like that. Here's what these morons refuse to take into consideration: We know that something might be bad for us, AND WE DON'T GIVE A DAMN! I know that tobacco and alcohol are bad for me, but if you try to take away my cigar and scotch, you're going to have a fight on your hands, and I won't be playing fair. The people who would force the government to dictate what you eat are the same people who would remove anything that they might find offensive, even if you're willing to take the risks. Thomos Sowell calls these people "The Safety Police". They're going to keep you safe if you want them to or not, and they're going to intrude into your life as much as possible in order to do it.

And at the root of all of this is one thing: Power. If they can get the government to tell you want to eat, then they have defacto enforced THEIR way of life onto YOU. They have exerted their power over you, and they've done it in a way that you can't retaliate. They've come into your kitchen and taken the sodium chloride right off of your spice shelf, because THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE IT, so by damn, they'll take it away from you, and they want to make sure that you can't do a damn thing about it.

Scratch a Democrat, find a dictator. You just have to know what you're looking for. And people who would presume to tell you how to live are as worthless as a three month old pile of dog shit.

But they have more disgusting attributes.

Cold Fury nails it

Yeah, again. I think I might just print it out and leave copies of it lying around town, because it's that damn good.

And yet Will is firmly convinced that he’s the one who really, truly “supports the troops.” Support them, hell; he doesn’t even respect them. It’s kind of hard to credibly claim you “support” some group or other when you’re sneering down your nose at them, or pitying their shameful ignorance.

But tell me, does the arrogance of that approach sound at all familiar? It should by now; we’ve heard plenty of it over the years, and the latest incarnation (besides Will’s, I mean) surfaced just after the ‘04 election, with the phrase “they (meaning red-state Americans) voted against their own best interests.”

Well, thanks a lot for coming down from the mountaintop to render that enlightened judgment, fellas. And I’se sho’ the soldiers would want to thanks you too for not laughing right out loud at they po’ ign’ant selfs, Marse Will. I take that tone advisedly; liberal condescension reminds me of nothing so much as the old slave-owner’s rationalization that the Negro actually needed slavery because without it, he was too darn stupid to be counted on to come in out of the rain. The difference between that attitude and the one these Lefties are taking with soldiers—and anybody notice how often they refer to these mostly in-their-20s men and women as “kids” or “children,” by the way?—is one only of degree.

It's a long one, but well worth it. And check out the comments........ Some lefties just love proving conservative bloggers right.

Why I believe the Constitution is not "living"

Because of things like this.

At issue is whether governments can forcibly seize homes and businesses, for private economic development. Under a practice known as eminent domain, a person's property may be condemned and the land converted for a greater "public use." It has traditionally been employed to eliminate slums, or to build highways, schools or other public works.

The New London case tests the muscle of local and state governments to raise what they see as much-needed revenue, which they argue serves a greater "public purpose."

Anyone remember Hillary, standing with her fellow communists and declaring "We're going to take things away from you for the greater good!"? Well, when you have no problem wiping your ass on the Constitution, much like Hillary and the rest of the Democrats, it doesn't take much of a strech of the imagination to figure out that in a communist's mind, the "greater good" trumps just about everything, including your property rights.

Think I'm kidding? They've already done what they can to remove the 2nd Amendment, and much of the 1st.

-I cannot carry a gun in the Democrat strongholds of California or Massachusetts.
-Prayer in schools is discouraged and even prohibited in many areas, even if the person praying doesn't try to lead others in prayer.
-The word "God" and the Ten Commandments are being obliterated from any kind of public setting. The City of Los Angeles even changed the city's seal to remove a cross from it! Perhaps someone needs to remind Los Angeles that it's actual name is "La Ciudad de la Riena de Los Angeles", which translates to "The City of the Queen of the Angels", which definately has religious connotations. Might I suggest a new name: The Stinky Shithole in Southern California. SSSC.
-"Hate Speech" legislation. 'Nuff said. And note who determines what hate speech is! Certainly not the average Joe on the street, but the Democrats who created this abortion of legislation.

That's just a few examples for ya. I'm sure you can come up with quite a few more.

The Donks want Hillary in '08

And they'll probably get her. But if, and that's the big IF, the truth about Hillary gets out, she has no chance of winning.

What truth would that be, you ask?

DANEgerus has the scoop. Two Scoops, in fact.

Avaricious Backroom Bush Boys Update

The blind eye that the Bush Administration turned to fraud at Enron and Worldcom didn't stop there.

There's HealthSouth, too:

Henze, an assistant vice president of finance, testified she told her supervisor, then-assistant controller Ken Livesay, that the big jumps "looked very suspicious" and that she suspected "something was going on."

Henze said she was transferred to the information technology division for about a year after reporting her suspicions of fraud, but she has since returned to the accounting office, where she is currently vice president of finance.
Nothing like the election of a Republican to bring out the greed in people...

Just back from maternity leave in spring 1999, Diana Henze said she noticed a $60 million jump in net income and a boost of 14 cents in earnings per share as quarterly reports were being put in final form. She'd noticed odd numbers in 1998, too.

Prosecutors allege [CEO Richard] Scrushy was behind a scheme to overstate HealthSouth earnings by some $2.7 billion from 1996 through '02. Scrushy made millions off the conspiracy by keeping stock prices high, they charge.

OK, so I get onto the blog page to see what's happening. I see huge amounts of comments. I go and check to see what they are, and I see that it's the infantile cut-and-paste bullshit that the Left seems to love. Or maybe they just can't do any better than that.

Anyways, I start deleting. I stop counting at 150 comments that I delete. Takes me about 10 minutes, all in all.

Then I do the math. Given as how I stopped counting at 150, that's the number I'll go with. They were all from the same IP. Haloscan will not let you post less than 30 seconds apart.

That means that this stupid little shithead spent well over 75 minutes cutting and pasting, cutting and pasting, probably screaming out his favorite leftist mantra of the day, spittle hitting the computer screen, while his acne-crusted face reflected the glow of the screen (probably the only UV light he's gotten in a while!)

Over an HOUR! Sweet Jesus, what kind of loser keeps cutting and pasting for OVER AN HOUR and still can't come up with something original? I've shared this with my mom and my wife, and we're all laughing our asses off!

H.R. 418

Anybody know what that is? It's the House Resolution calling for a National ID card.

Much bad juju! DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!

Folks, I remember talking about this many moons ago, and I know that Kim du Toit had a post up about it the last time this topic surfaced. The bottom line is this:

We do not need, nor should we want, any form of National ID card.

For starters, having a national ID card is nothing but a canard for ulterior motives. Don't believe me? Think of all the items of paperwork that are demanded in order to prove that you're a US citizen. Your birth cirtificate. Your social security number. Many of these items are already used as a form of national ID, and has it made life any better? No. They can still be copied, they can still be fabricated and couterfeited. Can anyone dispute that a national ID card won't immidiately have the same thing happen? No, not with a straight face.

Two - there are other options if people want national ID cards. They're called passports, and any US citizen can get one. Why should we institute a national ID card when there's already a form of National ID that is available?

Three - HR 418 would require that sensitive information be shared with Canada and Mexico.

Um, 'nuff said? Why the hell should we be sharing an information about our citizens with other countries other than what is aboslutely needed, i.e. "Yes, He/She is an American"?

Four: Given the propensity of some politicians to push for driver's licenses for illigal aliens, who can dispute that once a national ID card is in the works, these same politicians won't immidiately start pushing for these cards to be issued to the same illigal aliens that they're advocating for now?

This is a horrible idea, and the fact that nobody can give me any kind of good reason for a national ID card that can't already be provided with current means does nothing to reassure me.

Contact your Senator and tell them to shoot this thing down.

Scratch a Democrat, find a dictator

I firmly expect the local mouth-breathing idiots to try to screech about the source of this, but that's only because they can't refute it.

Schweizer, after scouring once-classified KGB, East German Stasi and Soviet Communist Party files, discovered incontrovertible evidence that the Soviets not only played footsie with high-ranking Democrats, they also worked behind the scenes to influence American elections.

In "Reagan's War," Schweizer shows how the Democrats worked with Moscow to try to undermine Reagan before and after he became president.

Soviet diplomatic accounts and material from the archives show that in January 1984 former President Jimmy Carter dropped by Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin's residence for a private meeting.

Carter expressed his concern about and opposition to Reagan's defense buildup. He boldly told Dobrynin that Moscow would be better off with someone else in the White House. If Reagan won, he warned, "There would not be a single agreement on arms control, especially on nuclear arms, as long as Reagan remained in power."

Using the Russians to influence the presidential election was nothing new for Carter.

Schweizer reveals Russian documents that show that in the waning days of the 1980 campaign, the Carter White House dispatched businessman Armand Hammer to the Soviet Embassy.

Hammer was a longtime Soviet-phile, and he explained to the Soviet ambassador that Carter was "clearly alarmed" at the prospect of losing to Reagan.

Given the propensity of the Democrats to espouse Communist ideals, and given the Democrats powerbase openly opposing every American ideal that they can, it should come as no surprise that the Democrats are essentially Communists who simply can't admit it to the sane people of this country.

When I call the American Left nothing but communists and socialists, I'm not joking.

Take what he's having, and spread it around.

Because he's dead on.

When you talk to a 20-something German factory worker, and they say that they can't wait to make it to their 40's, so they can start sucking off their pension checks, it shouldn't require much deduction to find the problem. Talk to the same 20-something American factory worker, and he'll probably tell you not to waste his time, he's pulling a double shift to help pay off his new Corvette.

The bottom line is, Americans have no obligation to soothe the aches and clothe the bodies of those in the world who aren't willing to stand up for their own freedom, nor work for their own success. We do, in many ways, and to many times the degree of other nations, out of compassion and friendship. But we do not have to. We are not obligated to do so simply because some idiot thinks it's a moral sin for a "certain kind" of people to stand at an SUV dealership and wonder, gee, do I want the tan leather or the white?

The prattling socialist nimrods of the world think John Q. Taxpayer should give the $60,000 he wants to spend on a Cadillac Escalade to those who "need it" more than he does, even though he's the one who created the wealth he spends. They're the same ones who don't think there should be "winners" or "losers" in society, the same who think personal responsibility is a naughty word.

Well, those of us who are not insane don't, and that's why we have more millionaires per capita than any nation in the history of the planet.

Damn, I love it when people hit the nails on the head.

Busy as all hell

But I'm pretty sure you all knew that anyways. Life is going pretty good right now, no complaints. I'm getting paperwork and other things in order, working, working around the parent's house, and all in all staying as busy as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.

But something that I thought was cool as hell can be found over here at RNS. David Horowitz has compiled a website called Discover the Network that tracks all the sticky links between the various leftist groups and people.

Go check it out. My old embarassment, Baghdad Jim McDermott is there, as well as a host of other people. It's worth a perusal.

Jobless claims post unexpected fall

This seems like good news.

The number of Americans claiming initial jobless benefits fell unexpectedly by 2,000 last week to the lowest level in more than four years as the U.S. labor market continued to strengthen, a government report showed Thursday.

An excellent summation

For a wonderful piece on North Korean nukes and the reasons thereof, go read John Cross.

Kim Jong Il beat Clinton and Carter...that is evident in the fact that he now is claiming that he has WMD's. He was brought up to their level...a petty tin-horn with spazzed-out hair and a vertical challenge...brought to the level of the American President(s). And, he got over on them. He did what he wanted, got what he wanted, and laughed all the way to the bank. He only got verbose after he saw that the new American President saw right through the bullcrap. He only started throwing his tantrum when Bush called him out.
I'd be much happier if I couldn't gloat at the Donks right now, telling them just how wrong they've been. I'd be much happier if ONE SINGLE DEMOCRAT would come out and admit that Carter and Clinton screwed the pooch.

But I don't think I can forsee any happiness in the near future.

A Leftist finally tells the truth.

As related by Kicking Broadswords.

My American Presidency class had just gotten out and a couple of us stood around discussing politics. The teacher (Democrat) asked if there was anything we agreed with about the Democratic Party and the president of the College Republicans brought up public education. I did my John Dewey socialist rant and when that didn't seem to work I brought up the Constitution. I asked him where in the Constitution the feds have the power to control education. He acknowledged that it didn't but remarked:

"I don't really believe in the Constitution"
We already know that most Leftists would just as soon wipe their ass with the Constitution rather than follow it, so it's nice that this example felt comfortable enough to admit what we already know.

Regarding a Dead Journalist

*** This is an old post, originally posted Monday, August 18, 2003. Michelle Malkin recently linked to it because it seems germane to the claim made by CNN's Eason Jordan that US troops target journalists in Iraq for killin'. Interesting, too, that it (coincidentally) mentioned Abu Ghraib well before anyone knew about Abu Ghraib. I worked hard on that post, too - it is the kind of thing that would have gotten me on MSNBC, had blogs been big back then - hard hitting stuff! =wink= These days, alas, no time to really research posts, so I just regurge. Pathetic. ***

Reuters cameraman Mazen Dana was shot dead by a US tank in Bahgdad this Sunday. Reuters paints the picture as follows:
U.S. troops shot dead an award-winning Reuters cameraman while he was filming on Sunday near a U.S.-run prison on the outskirts of Baghdad.

Eyewitnesses said soldiers on an American tank shot at Mazen Dana, 43, as he filmed outside Abu Ghraib prison in western Baghdad which had earlier come under a mortar attack.

Dana's last pictures show a U.S. tank driving toward him outside the prison walls. Several shots ring out from the tank, and Dana's camera falls to the ground.

The U.S. military acknowledged on Sunday that its troops had "engaged" a Reuters cameraman, saying they had thought his camera was a rocket propelled grenade launcher.

Several international media consortiums and (Dana was Palestinian) the "Palestinian street" are not so sure. They want a full investigation into the incident. I imagine the levelheaded among them just want to know what happened, the Leftist among them imagine some hyped-up GI getting his jollies by shooting someone, and the rabid among them imagine President Bush himself ordering all Arab-looking people shot ASAP.

Below appear a few pictures. Look at them, then ask yourself if the Pentagon's version of what happened makes sense - if maybe the guys in the tank thought they were about to be fired upon with a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher or RPG.

Dana with his camera

Soldier with an Eastern bloc RPO-A

Soldier with a Soviet-made RPG-22

The RPO-A, it should be noted, is akin to a flamethrower. I doubt whomever is fighting the US in Iraq has them. It was, however, the only picture I could find of someone holding a shoulder-mounted weapon in the same stance and angle as Dana in his picture.

So - you're in a tank. Every other day, some soldier gets killed or wounded by an RPG or other shoulder-fired rocket attack. You're looking for bad guys, and you see a man with a device on his shoulder peeking around a corner. The device has a round aperture in the front and it is pointed at you.

What do you do?

Reason #1 I won't live in Mass.

The sheer violation of my rights as an American.

Go check that out. The police in Brookline, MA have complete discretion on who gets gun permits and who doesn't. Gee, seeing as how quite a large chunk of Mass is a liberal infested hellhole, guess how many permits get issued?

Yeah. Guess what, folks...... I used to be an MP. I've seen the action from the police side of an incident. And the fastest that I was ever able to get to a scene after we recieved a 9-1-1 call was three or four minutes. And that's going Code three, lights and sirens, blowing stoplights and making Tony Stewart look like an old fogey on a Sunday drive while the radio dispatcher listened to a hysterical woman being beaten severely by her drunken husband over the phone..

How much damage can a criminal inflict in three minutes? A hell of a lot. Give a mugger ten seconds and your jaw might be broken. Or your arm. Some drughead who's hopped up on goofballs can break your arm before the cops are even notified. The only thing that can protect you is YOU. Too often, cops show up in time to take a report, but they CANNOT PROTECT YOU. You, with a gun in your hand, are the best protection you can have.

But the cops in Brookline don't care.

And by the way, folks - The police HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO PROTECT YOU. Go check out Kevin Baker's research - it's on the left hand side of the blog under Is the Government Responsible for Your Protection?

Read both parts one and two. And be very, very scared. And then go buy a pistol and hit the range.

Old Computer and Electronic Equipment - Avoiding Heavy Handed Legislation by Democrats

Here is an issue I think we should own. Have you ever tried to get rid of consumer electronic or computer equipment once it's no longer of use to you or (it seems) anyone else? There are many parts of a computer that simply have to die before you chuck them and then there are people who throw the tower and monitor (if for no other reason than it went with the tower originally) in the dumpster when the new one comes. There are environmental arguments against doing that. To me it's just a damned waste. There are parts of those machines that can be reused and or resold. On the consumer electronics side, I've purchased 2 27 inch televisions in 2 years and both took a crap one year after I bought them. I asked around and all I found for local disposal was the City Dump. Who knows what they are doing with them. What should happen? Hands should be busy working to dismantel this stuff. There is a decent amount of plastic, glass, and metals in this equipment that could be separated, sorted, melted down, and resold. Any element that can not be reclaimed and is too sensitive to dispose of in a dump can be turned over to the do gooders for proper destruction and or internment....at least collected in one location. What happens to cars that we're finished with? Most times we take them to a junk yard, though some may choose the impound or simply to abandon the automobile though they probably end up in the junk yard that route as well.

In my online investigation of the subject matter, I came across this:

National PC Recycling Plan Proposed, Again
Two U.S. Representatives have resuscitated a bill to enact a national recycling program for electronic waste, following the successful launch of two state-run programs.
The bill, co-authored by Reps. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) and Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) last week, would create the National Computer Recycling Act. The act, if approved by Congress and signed into law, would tack on a $10 administrative fee to the sale price of computers and monitors to fund recycling efforts.

Notice where the focus is? On the sale of this equipment. One piece of equipment can get sold again and again over it's life. The things only get created once. The article continues:

The goal is to establish a national standard for e-cycling efforts, overseen by the Environmental Protection Agency. Currently, the issue is handled at the state level, with efforts by Maine and California leading the way.

However, the bill marks the third time that Thompson has attempted to push forward recycling legislation. In 2003, Thompson tried to enact a similar bill that also assessed a $10 fee, tacking on a clause that would exempt the sale of used computers between individuals. A spokesman confirmed that the text of the NCRA is the same as H.R. 1165, which died in committee during the 108th Congress.

This is why we should own the issue. What these two Democrats are trying to do is to micro manage every aspect of the handling of computer equipment ensuring a gigantic Governmental bureaucracy to force people into doing the right thing. There is an alternative. I know several people who recycle every single can and bottle they get their hands on. They go so far as to walk the roads and pick them up. Why? Because they get money for them. I don't throw out the old car starter because I paid a core charge at the store and I want the money. Do the same for the pc parts and consumer electronics. I could see numerous computer/electronics recycling centers throughout the country springing up in response....creating private sector jobs and ensuring that a problem is solved in a way that promotes freedom and opportunity while denying big-government loving Democrat pols a mega-program that will leach off of taxpayer money and oppresively restrict commerce.

I've always wondered why Marlin stopped producing the Camp 45. It was the only rifle made to accompany the 1911, and for years people bought it for that simple reason. Then Marlin cut off production, and lots of .45 ACP owners were left in the loop. Of course, this being America, it just took a little time for people to notice the vacume in the free market, and come up with a product to fill it. Somebody at the Marlin HQ needs a good swift kick in the head for not grabbing an opportunity and running with it.

And it's made for more calibers than just .45 ACP. This could be a very nice thing indeed. The Mech-Tech CCU.

Super Bowl Feast

1548 Eastern : We're eating egg rolls now.

1640 Eastern : Tortilla chips with bean dip. Shrimp are steaming.

1715 Eastern : Shrimps, cheese fries. Starting to bloat.

1739 Eastern : Cheese fries gone. Shrimps weren't very good. Pork chili is about a half hour off.

I think this game will be decided in the first quarter. The Eagles will arrive full of adrenalin, the Patriots all business. The key will be whether the Eagles use their adrenalin to fuel big plays or whether it uses them to make big mistakes. I look for all of the game's key turnovers to happen early on - whether the Eagles commit them or force them will decide the Super Bowl.

1809 Eastern : Chili is up now. Fresh cilantro really makes the grade. Yeah. And a bottle of Chianti just opened. Let's get it started.

1820 Eastern : Near-showtime. Hey now!

2101 Eastern : Death grip defensive football. Who will make the first mistake?

2111 Eastern: Looks like the money is on New England - hard to miss a pick play THAT obvious.

Active Guard and Reserve

For those of you who haven't been paying attention, or for those who are checking in for the first time, the Active Guard and Reserve is a component of the Army that exists to assist and work with Guard and Reserve units around the world. I have been attempting to become part of the AGR.

I first enlisted as a Military Police officer in 1995, and when I re-enlisted last year, my unit sent me to a Logistics school this past December. Just a little background there.

About half an hour ago, I was informed that I have been accepted into the AGR program, and in late March or early April, I will be stationed at Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Busting the Leftist "No Plan for Post War Iraq" Meme.

Kokonut Pundits' Mike McConnell brings our attention to the following:

Pre-war Planning for Post-war Iraq

Unclassified

Planning in the U.S. Government for post-war Iraq was an interagency process involving officials from the Departments of Defense, State, Justice, Treasury, Energy, and Commerce; the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Central Intelligence Agency, as well as from the staffs of the National Security Council and the Office of Management and Budget.

Sounds pretty involved, doesn't it? Read the whole thing. Pretty far from the "no plan" rhetoric of John Flipper Kerry, isn't it?

Seattle. Ug.

I saw a kick-ass bumper sticker today. Two of them, in fact. One said "Save America: Impeach Baghdad Jim" and the other stated "Proud American, Embarrassed Washontonian" with a picture of Jim McDermott and Christine Gregoire on either side.

I should have left a complimentary note on the car, but I didn't have any paper and it was raining.

Anyways, I'm here at the conference. Nothing much happening today, mostly preliminary stuff that needs to be taken care of. Tomorrow is when most decisions will be made. Wish me luck.

And since I don't have time to rant and rage, why don't you go read this piece by Kim du Toit about the president's plan to revamp Social Security, and how the Lame-Stream media is again, being the Democrat propaganda whores they turn out to be.

Here's my take on it all, folks. Lets say that you entered the workforce in 1960. Since this is an alternate universe we're talking about, you don't pay social security, you put all of that money into the stock market. All of it. Every penny. Any good financial advisor will tell you that you NEVER put all your cash in the market, you spread it out a bit through mutual funds, real estate, ect. That way if one part of your investment takes a hit, the rest of your investments are safe. But anyways, this guy in 1960 puts all his cash into the stock market.

Now let's say that this guy retires and pulls all his cash out in 2001. Right when the stock market tanks and hits bottom.

This guy would be so far ahead of the return that Social Security could give him that it's not even funny. Can anyone tell me the actual return from SS? I've heard anywhere from 2% to .02%, and yes, that's a decimal point in front of that zero. That's what the government is supposed to guarantee, and IT CAN'T DO IT!

The government is the WORST investment you could ever make. What the congresscritters don't want you to know is that there is no Social Security lockbox. There is no fund that's been saved up. The benifits paid out this year are from last year's tax revenues, and if that stream of cash dries up, then congress would be forced to admit that they've been lying out their asses for decades while they used money that was supposed to go to Social Security for all their vote-buying pork barrel products. THAT is why they don't want you to control your own money. THAT is why they're afraid of you investing for your own future. They don't want to let go of the reins, because once you figure out that these fucking theives have been dicking around with your cash, then you probably won't let them get any more of it. And that scares the shit out of them.

Just another reason I think that Washington DC needs to be nuked. Or at least bulldoze it and start over. Those felonious fuckwads don't deserve another chance.

Elections in Iraq

So, I'm sure that many of you got the news that Iraq held it's first real elections in three decades. Some of you got it from Fox News, some of you got it from CNN. I don't have a TV where I'm at right now. So I have to get my news either second hand or a bit more directly.

As in, directly from the source. One of my former co-workers is finishing up a deployment in Iraq, and emailed a big group of people this evening. Here's his email, with his last name removed for privacy, since he doesn't yet know that I'm publishing it.

Hi Everybody!

Well, the Iraq Elections went off pretty good. Out of all the registered voters (I don't know the number, but it's ALOT of people), 72% voted. I think thats more voters than we had in our country. Kinda makes a year over here worth it. We had a Mass Casualty Point setup, just in case, but it didn't need to be used. Not even once.

I'm sure that in the news there talking about the suicide bomber that got within 500 meters of a polling site and blew himself up. The reporters probably didn't tell you the Iraqi voters spit on this guys body parts as they walked past hime to vote. I'm sure that part wasn't put on the news.

The unit thats replacing us is almost here. Only a little over a month to go. I'll talk to you all later, Joe.

All you sniveling leftists out there can KISS MY HAIRY WHITE ASS! Iraq is free and democratic for the first time in over THREE DECADES!

If we had listened to the left, Saddam would still be dropping people into plastic chippers while his son raped more twelve year old girls.

Speaking of Iraq, Mark Styne has once again created a masterpiece of the written word. Read the whole thing.

And if the phrase "Condi's second term" doesn't make you need to clean out your pants, you must be a brain dead Democrat.

Cold Fury

Mike has done it once again. I've been reading that man since the day I figured out what blogs were.

This piece is why.

You want a taste? OK.

6) The elections in Iraq—contrary to repeated shrill predictions from the Left and the mainstream press of disaster, postponement, cancellation, and subterfuge on the part of the US —will take place as scheduled this Sunday. It will be an historic first step on the road to self-determination for a people who have not known it in our lifetimes. Despite the Left’s overheated rhetoric accusing Bush of being a “despot,” a “tyrant,” a “dictator,” and so on, the real dictator is even now incarcerated, held by the people he so viciously wronged, and it’s directly due to Bush’s steadfastness and determination and not at all to the resistance to taking any action repeatedly and embarrassingly demonstrated by you on the Left. It’s a cliche, but it’s true: freedom is not free, and its cost is not measured in dollars but in blood. That blood has been shed by both Americans and Iraqis in pursuit of a dream of liberty and self-determination that you on the Left would deny them even now. You are not serious in your protestations of concern for the Iraqi people. You are dead wrong, and you do not deserve to be taken seriously.

Portrait of a Douchebag

Ward Churchill

No, really.

He is one.

Ladies and Gents....

THIS is how a soldier lays down a bitchslapping on the press.

Much of the problem is about perspective, putting things in scale and balance. What if domestic news outlets continually fed American readers headlines like: "Bloody Week on U.S. Highways: Some 700 Killed," or "More Than 900 Americans Die Weekly from Obesity-Related Diseases"? Both of these headlines might be true statistically, but do they really represent accurate pictures of the situations? What if you combined all of the negatives to be found in the state of Texas and used them as an indicator of the quality of life for all Texans? Imagine the headlines: "Anti-law Enforcement Elements Spread Robbery, Rape and Murder through Texas Cities." For all intents and purposes, this statement is true for any day of any year in any state. True — yes, accurate — yes, but in context with the greater good taking place — no! After a year or two of headlines like these, more than a few folks back in Texas and the rest of the U.S. probably would be ready to jump off of a building and end it all. So, imagine being an American in Iraq right now.

(.....)

What about the media's portrayal of the enemy? Why do these ruthless murderers, kidnappers and thieves get a pass when it comes to their actions? What did the the media show or tell us about Margaret Hassoon, the director of C.A.R.E. in Iraq and an Iraqi citizen, who was kidnapped, brutally tortured and left disemboweled on a street in Fallujah? Did anyone in the press show these images over and over to emphasize the moral failings of the enemy as they did with the soldiers at Abu Ghuraib? Did anyone show the world how this enemy had huge stockpiles of weapons in schools and mosques, or how he used these protected places as sanctuaries for planning and fighting in Fallujah and the rest of Iraq? Are people of the world getting the complete story? The answer again is no! What the world got instead were repeated images of a battle-weary Marine who made a quick decision to use lethal force and who immediately was tried in the world press. Was this one act really illustrative of the overall action in Fallujah? No, but the Marine video clip was shown an average of four times each hour on just about every major TV news channel for a week. This is how the world views our efforts over here and stories like this without a counter continually serve as propaganda victories for the enemy. Al Jazeera isn't showing the film of the C.A.R.E. worker, but is showing the clip of the Marine. Earlier this year, the Iraqi government banned Al Jazeera from the country for its inaccurate reporting. Wonder where they get their information now? Well, if you go to the Internet, you'll find a web link from the Al Jazeera home page to CNN's home page. Very interesting.
Gosh, CNN and Al Jazeera link to each other? I can't say that I'm very surprised, since CNN has no problem sucking the dick of a terrorist supporting genocidal dictator if it'll let them get the news. Ethics have never been a big part of CNN's toolbox, so it's no surprise to me that they've become the terrorist network of choice.

Anyway, read the whole thing. It's beautiful to my eyes.

war is NOT the UGLIEST thing

Hello all. This is the Raging_Mrs. My father forwarded this to me. I feel that it is overly appropriate considering the state of current world affairs.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing that is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better [people] than himself."

Top ten lists

Acidman has a couple of post up on the top ten people who either improved this country or fucked this country up in his lifetime.

Now, I respectfully submit that I have less lifetime to work with than that ancient geezer august gentleman, but I can probably find a few people that are a bit different. I can't say that it was easy to pick either list.

My top ten people who fucked this country up in my lifetime-

#1 - Jimmy Carter - most of the Middle East issues that we are now dealing with started under his Administration. It was his weak leadership that allowed a lot of crap to get out of control. The people who followed his leadership on this issue are too many to be counted individually.

#2 - Al Sharpton - Jesse Jackson might be the Race-baiting poverty pimp who was MLK's associate, but it was Al Sharpton in my eyes who made being a poverty hustler into an established profession.

#3 - Bill Clinton - Let's see, allowing Osama bin Laden to slip through his fingers not once but TWICE is more than enough to put him on this list, but his incompitant handling of this country, his butchering of the military, allowing the Army to be his little social experiment, not responding to the terrorist attacks against this country overseas, and forcing little girls and boys to learn just what a blow-job is before their parents really wanted them to know are all just a small part of how this man fucked up my country. I debated putting him up at #1, but I figured that 'ol Jimmah started the spineless Democrat revolution that we see the fruit of today.

#4 - George Bush Sr. - I hate to add him to this list, but he was the first president to start making cuts in the military that Reagan had built. He was also the first to start raising taxes, and his kowtowing to the "international community" left Saddam in power after we had the perfect opportunity to take him out. Too many fuck-ups, most of which we are now dealing withthe results of. On the list he goes.

#5 - Aaron Spelling - TV just wouldn't be the same without him. Which makes it a shame that we're not without him.

#6 - Al Gore - One word - Florida. If it hadn't been for Gore trying to steal the election with mandated "recounts" in hand selected countied with highly Democratic populations and carefully "supervised" vote picking, this country wouldn't be in the electoral mess that we're in. Although it was probably a matter of time before the Donks tried the same hijinks, it was Gore who made robbing elections a public part of the Democrat's election strategy.

#7 - Sarah Brady - There are a lot of different groups out there trying to take the 2nd Amendment and wipe their ass with it, but only one group has an actual name attached to it. Brady made gun grabbing a household part of politics.

#8 - Janet Reno - Waco. Ruby Ridge. Elian Gonzales. While the Left howls about John Ashcroft and his policies, it was Reno who pretty much shat on the Constitution with the full blessing of Bill Clinton's administration.

#9 - Jesse Jackson - Al Sharpton might be higher on the list, but Jesse Jackson has done more to hurt racial relations in this country than almost anybody else. You can lump people like Julian Bond and Kwese Mfume with Jackson if you like.

#10 - This is a toss-up between the founder of DU and the people who frequent it. I can't figure out what's worse, a group of anti-American assholes who have nothing better to do than come up with conspieracy theories and badmouth the very country that makes their freedom possible, or the person responsible for giving that group a place to hang out.

Now then, for the top ten people who improved this country.

#1 - Ronald Reagan - Won the Cold War. Period. Like A-Man, I can remember having to do "desk drills" in case of a nuclear attack. I remember how I felt when the Berlin Wall came down, and when the USSR fell apart. It call comes down to the actions of one man - Reagan. On the flip side, this is also why so many liberals hate him. Let's not forget that it was his tax cuts that put this country on more than a decade of economic growth.

#2 - Acidman has Jonah Salk as his #2, but as it has to be people in my lifetime, I'll go with his #3, Bill Gates, and for the same reasons. I remember programing in BASIC back before DOS had been invented, and I'm sure that many of my readers are nodding their heads going "Yep". Gates made is possible for anyone to get a computer and get online. Even people like myself who download Mozilla's Firefox browser are still running Windows in order to do it.

#3 - Newt Gingrich - Led the Republican Revolution back in 1992-1996, and had the good sense to resign rather than drag the Republicans through a process that would have given the Donks a perfect chance to lie, slander, attack, and destroy what they had accomplished. Welfare reform is one example of what he pushed through congress.

#4 - Colin Powell - I don't think he was all that great as SecState, but he was the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs that wasn't white, and by all accounts was a hell of a soldier. He made his rank and his life through hard work and superior effort, in an age where he could have coasted and taken what the establishment would give him. When the race baiters and poverty pimps tried to recruit him as their spokesman, he politely told them to go to hell.

#5 - Thomas Sowell - Never has one man with so great an intellect been so slandered and maligned by the Left for of all things... his color. Sowell was probably the first real columnist I started reading when he wrote for Forbes Magazine. The man is a flat out genius, and has probably done more to advance clear thinking and honest debate in this country than anyone else who ever picked up a pen. If you want to learn how to argue and debate, learn Sowell's layout and tactics.

#6 - Rush Limbaugh - I'm sure that a lot of you are now going "Oh, bullshit!" but it was Rush who brought about the conservative talk radio movement. Until he came on the air and started saying the very things that everybody else wanted to say, conservatives didn't have jack shit for a voice in the national media. Even Seattle has two conservative radio stations now, but it was Rush Limbaugh who broke the wall first. I can take him or leave him at this point, but he made conservative radio possible. And it wasn't until I lived in Seattle that I finally realized that he wasn't exaggerating when he described liberals and their politics.

#7 - Rupert Merdoch. In the same vein as Rush, it was Merdoch who gave conservatives a place to get information that wasn't so biased that the news ticker was even tilted to the left. Now that CNN and MSNBC are losing viewers to Fox News, the rest of the media establishment is maybe kinda sorta starting to wake up, although CBS is proof to the contrary.

#8 - Jim Henson - The Muppets. The Dark Crystal. 'Nuff said. I can remember the one and only episode of the Muppets where Gonzo actually got to finish the trumpet fanfair at the end. My dad remembers watching Howdie Doodie when he was a kid. My generation remembers The Muppet Show.

#9 - George W. Bush - "But I can hear you! And the people who did this are gonna hear from ALL of us real soon!" A few months later, the Taliban was wetting their turbans, and the phrase "Bush Doctrine" was known nationwide. Much of what he's done in office can be debated, but making it clear to terrorists and the nations who support them that the USA will no longer tolerate their presence was the first time in over two decades that the USA had done anything about terrorism in general.

#10 - I'm gonna toss this one out as a debatable entry - John F. Kerry. For thirty years, this country had been silent about Viet Nam and the people who fought there. It wasn't until John F. Kerry pushed his way to the Democratic forefront that the veterans who had suffered through his slander, and the slander of all the Left, managed to find their voice and speak out. There were a lot of issues cleared up for some people, and the Viet Nam war is no longer some taboo topic, not to be touched for fear of re-awakening some long buried pain. The Viet Nam vets made it known that the Left had lied about them for thirty years, and they weren't going to take it anymore. Kerry is a disgusting, opportunistic worm, but his actions brought about the open discussion of Viet Nam, which was overdue and much needed.

OK, there's my lists. Feel free to flame away.

Steve H. Rocks

Especially on Hate Fridays.

The hearings were historic, mainly because it’s not that often that you get to see seven or eight Democrats slander and abuse a successful black woman. Not since they stopped wearing sheets. But then Condi isn’t black or female. She’s conservative, so NOW and the NAACP revoked her credentials. From now on, whenever she fills out a government form, she has to list herself as a white male, and in certain states she could also be forced to buy golf clubs.

I don’t care. Let the Democrats have their fun. Because for the next four years, we’re going to make them eat their own vomit. FOUR MORE YEARS RIGHT DOWN YOUR THROAT, BITCHES! We'll show you what "trickle down" really means. Not that I am in any way mean-spirited or a bad sport.

Maybe later, I’ll hate on fat Mikey Moore for preaching gun banning while employing an armed bodyguard. Why does Mikey need an armed man to protect him from knives and bullets? I thought his fat was supposed to do that. Let’s pray that one day Mikey goes swimming off Norway or Japan and gets himself “harvested” for “research” purposes.

I had to wonder.... since we had Ted "Swimmer" Kennedy and Bobby "Sheets" Byrd both hurling more lies and slander at Dr. Rice than any one person can realisticly deal with, can we take the Left's canard about how the Right is racist and just beat them with it? I mean, when a star of the Left gets up and goes on a drunken rambling slanderfest against a highly successful black woman, I think that's one meme we can just bury right now.

The Raging Mother's Ass-Whuppin Workout

Since my parents have been rather generous to both my wife and myself in the past few months, I figured that I would do what I could to help them out around the house while I'm here. I mean, they live in the country. There's ALWAYS something to do, just to keep things running on an even keel.

Like graveling the private road, from the main road to the hay barn.

Ug.

Luckily, the gravel place dumps it into your truck for you. But once you get home, all the shoveling, raking, moving, hauling and other assorted work is up to you. And yes, since we don't own any heavy machinery I did it all by hand. Mom now has a nicely graveled road, and I have two arms that feel like they're about to fall off.

Oh well. Tomorrow I get to clear dead brush and other items on the fuel ladder away from the barn. And I can't say that I'm going to get fat while I'm here. Gotta love the country life!

Dems revert to Klan roots

Riddle Us This:

Which U.S. Senator is a former member of the Ku Klux Klan?

Which U.S. Senator wasn't just a member of the KKK but was a "Kleagle" -- an official recruiter who signed up members for $10 a head?

Which U.S. Senator said he joined because it "offered excitement" and because the Klan was an "effective force" in "promoting traditional American values."

Which U.S. Senator wrote the following, three years after he claims to have ended his ties with the KKK: "The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia" and "in every state in the Union."

Which U.S. Senator also wrote that he would never fight "with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
Golly.

That's a tough one.

Power and Control: Dems revert to Klan roots

In a Nutshell

From the Truer Words Department:

Republicans are isolationist on the grounds the world is bad for America. Democrats are isolationist on the grounds America is bad for the world.
Yep.

Witness to the Lunatic Left

An example of how the Left are driving people away:

"Of course, [the Iraqi resistance] is riddled with opportunism, local rivalry, demagoguery, and criminality. But if we were to only support pristine movements, then no resistance will be worthy of our purity."

Nice Hat!

Brett Baker, in the comments of this post at Blogs For Bush pointed out the following:

"Anybody notice they seated him behind Rumsfeld, who seemed to make it a point to wear a really big hat?"

After seeing this picture:

Thanks again, Brett. My sides are still hurting.

Update: A couple of readers pointed out that the fellow wearing the hat is not Don Rumsfeld. It does look like him though. Even if the guy wore the hat by chance, the idea of Flipper having to look over and around a huge cowboy hat to be reminded of the fact that he's a loser is still a knee slapper. Title edited accordingly.
