Apparently, the few remaining non-pedophile Democrats have been feeling left out and needed a way that they, too, could ruin children’s lives. This weekend they found it. A Native American hate crime hoax targeted children from a Christian school, Covington Catholic, wrongly claiming that its students were hateful bigots taunting a defenseless old Native American elder. The truth? They’d been called “faggots” by black Muslim protesters and were deliberately provoked by the indigenous rights activist, a longtime Democrat political operative called Nathan Phillips whose “Vietnam vet” credentials are now being called into question. Far from being smug bullies as reported, Covington students were smiling so as not to get angry at being provoked by black protesters and then by a Native American elder who approached them to taunt them—in other words, they were remaining good-natured out of Christian charity. 

This is what the progressive Left in America does now: Destroy children’s lives for political gain.

We all know that the Democrat Media is the enemy of the people, and they prove it on a daily basis.  But what is sticking in the craw of so many people is how quickly and willingly the supposed "conservative" media jumped on board with the bashing.

That’s all predictable enough. Less predictable was National Review rushing out a now-deleted op-ed accusing the wrongly-accused Covington students of “evil” behavior and claiming they “might as well have just spit on the cross. Or a virtue-signalling Ross Douthat going in on Twitter without having a clue about the facts. You will recall that these are the same people constantly lecturing the rest of us about propriety, manners and restraint.

Deleted, yes, but not a single hint of remorse at publicly excoriating kids who had done nothing wrong, who's lives are now turned upside down as the Leftist hate-mob, aided and abetted by supposed "conservatives", have doxed the kids and their family members over a story that was a complete and utter lie from the very first second it crested on Twitter.

Let’s please remember all this the next time journalists, professors and talking heads on TV tell improbable tales of bigotry and hatred. Aggressive public displays of virtue are where the morally deplorable hide, which is how you know all politicians are scumbags, why social justice warriors always turn out to be perverts and felons, and why you can be confident assuming the majority of journalists are repellent, ethically sickening people. Especially the ones who claim to be Right-wing. I can take people who declare themselves my enemy. What I can’t abide is snakes, opportunists, backstabbers and liars on my own side.

National Review went full NeverTrump in 2016, to include insulting and smearing quite a few of their own readers, and they're suffering the predictable result.  Hell, both my father and I ended our subscriptions over it, as we get insulted and heckled enough by Leftists that we don't need it from people who were supposedly on our side.  Now it seems that their hatred of Trump and his supporters have allowed them to essentially jump on the Liberal Left train at every opportunity.

And let's be clear - I watched the video.  The kids did nothing wrong.  The black idiots screaming "FAGGOT!" at the kids were the problem.  The liar known as Nathan Phillips, who attempted to intimidate the kids and who provoked this entire episode, he did something wrong.  And every so-called conservative who jumped on the Liberal hate train should hang their head in shame for the rest of their lives as they enabled a Leftist mob who is now in the process of attempting to destroy the lives of those kids and their families.

The families of those kids are now publicly talking about suing.  Good sue the fucking bastards into bankruptcy.  Make the Leftist hate mob, of which the media is the ringleader, cheerleader and instigator, pay for their lies.  Fucking ruin every virtue-signaling asshole, starting with whoever the fuck is shipping that lying liar Nathan Phillips around the country so he can protest and start shit.

Here's a little photo of my Airhawk seat cushion after 15,000 miles.  This thing has doubled my riding time.  Given my *ahem* age related physical issues, anything more than a couple of hours on the bike left me feeling rather beaten.  This cushion has allowed me to ride all day.  I can honestly say this is the best accessory I've purchased for my motorcycle, hands down.

The inner cushion is still good.  I only had to replace the cover. 

Y'all know I don't do product placement unless I really like it.  I'm not getting any money or even any notoriety from Airhawk.  They just work that damn well.  If you're a rider, look at their seat cushions.  They also made cushions for passenger seats.  They're worth every penny.

Democrats refuse to meet with Angel Moms, cry about furloughed federal workers instead

No, really.  Granny Rictus actually ran away from the Angel Moms so that she could pull her crocodile tears out on the capitol steps.

This rally came a day after a group of Angel Moms (mothers of those killed by illegal immigrants) wielded giant photos of their murdered children at the offices of Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. 

The Angel Moms have attempted in vain all month to meet with Democrat leaders to discuss legislation to fund a U.S.-Mexico border wall. 

Angel Mom Sabine Durden, whose son Dominic was killed by an illegal alien in 2012, reacted to Schumer's rally on Twitter, saying: "Really? They can still hug their children, many of us Angel moms will never b able to do that. I would give up everything to just have my son for 1 hour."

Just a reminder, the cost of illegal aliens to the USA is upwards of $135 BILLION A YEAR.  Trump wants $5.7 Billion for the wall.  That's 4% of what the USA spends on illegal aliens.  It would pay for itself in a year.

But Democrats don't care about that.  They care about importing more voters so that they can win elections with a more pliable electorate.  Democrats certainly don't care about the hard-working Americans who are affected by the tens of millions of illegal aliens who are here in this country, committing crime (to include rape, murder and drug running), driving down wages, and turning parts of this country into miniature versions of the shitholes they came from.

They thought they were being smart.  They weren't.

Gillette goes full Woke

I stopped using Gillette sometime when I was stationed in Wisconsin, because I was tired of paying out the nose for what amounted to tin-foil on plastic.  So I switched to a double-edged safety razor.  I've always used some sort of shaving soap with a brush, but now I tossed the cartridges and got a real razor.  And I've never been happier.  On a rather ironic note, one of my favorite safety razors is an antique Gillette brass safety razor that I picked up in an antique shop in Black Falls, Wisconsin.  I think it cost me $8.  I use Merkur razor blades, although sometimes I use Van der Hagen razors when I run out of my Merkur.  I get a much better shave, and I don't have to put up with virtue signaling assholes from Massachusetts.  If you're a guy, get into classic shaving.  I have multiple links under the "Be A Man" section.  Pick a real razor, and give it a go.  You'll save money in the long run, and you'll have a much better shave.

Fuck Gillette.  I watched the "advert".  They can go piss up a rope.  Let them go out of business, it's not like I use any of their products, or will use them in the future.

If you thought the midterm elections had problems, wait until you learn about Nancy Pelosi’s plan to terminate state control over American elections. 

Democrats in Congress have announced their top legislative priority, and it isn’t health care, immigration, or taxes. Instead, they want to centralize power over elections in Washington, D.C. H.R. 1 is number one on the legislative agenda because it is the number one priority of House Democrats, leftist groups, deep-pocketed dark money, and those who use election process rules to help win elections -- or at least to cause chaos. 

The bill is a 571-page dreamscape of wild wishes and federal mandates on states. The Constitution decentralizes power over American elections and puts states in charge. H.R. 1 would undo that.

Also, while the level of malevolent evil contained in this bill is off the charts, it's impressive to watch as the Democrats actually move to do what their communist backers want them to do, while under Paul Ryan, the first day with a Republican White House, Senate and House of Republicans got us.....  pretty much nothing.  It's almost as if he didn't have a clue what he was doing.  Of course, he was doing what the Democrats wanted him to do.  I honestly believe that.

But the biggest prize in H.R. 1 is to restore Justice Department approval powers over state election law changes, known as “preclearance.” This preclearance power, struck down by the Supreme Court in Shelby County v. Holder, is the one power that unites them all. Preclearance gave radical bureaucrats at the Justice Department Voting Section, where I used to work, the power to micromanage every single state election law behind closed doors. 

Here’s how it worked: Whenever a state wanted to make an election law change, no matter how small, it needed approval from Washington, D.C. bureaucrats at the Department of Justice. Move a polling place, change the hours the election office is open, hire a new translator, change a precinct line, or move voting from the school gym to the school library? DOJ had to approve. 

Require voter ID, allow citizenship verification, increase penalties for voter fraud, enact election integrity procedures or implement programs to clean rolls? DOJ had to approve. 

And now you see why the Left wants the power back.

Oh yes, let's allow the completely corrupted DOJ to oversee election laws!  That'll make things so much better!

We're not voting our way out of this.  And part of the problem is that the Republican Party isn't really really a representative party at all.  It's just the Democrat Party with different clothing on.  If the Republican Party actually represented it's voters, there's a damn good chance the Democrats don't retake the House.  Chew on that for a while.

You don’t expect the New Yorker and Mother Jones to be places where you read anti-marijuana articles, but Tell Your Children, the new book by former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson is knocking some people flat. The book examines what we know scientifically about marijuana use, and it turns out to be pretty damn scary. 

I have never been a pot smoker, though back in my youth, I ate space cake in Amsterdam. Meh. I’ve always had ambivalent views about marijuana legalization. I can’t stand the way the stuff smells, and found the people I hung out with in college who were big fans of it to be incapable of talking about much else. But I accepted the line that pot was largely harmless. I don’t like the fact that it’s being legalized everywhere, but couldn’t come up with a compelling reason to oppose it. I chalked that up to social custom. Frankly, I didn’t much care. 

Berenson’s book is a game-changer. In his New Yorker piece, Malcolm Gladwell writes straightforwardly about the overwhelming scientific evidence that marijuana is a hell of a lot more problematic than many of us think. 

Look, you can make the case that medical marijuana helps people, while at the same time pointing out that legalizing a drug that messes with your brain is not a good idea.  Demerol has medical uses, but nobody is out there saying "Hey, let's legalize that!"  Well, maybe some Libertarians.

Over the past couple of decades, studies around the globe have found that THC—the active compound in cannabis—is strongly linked to psychosis, schizophrenia, and violence. Berenson interviewed far-flung researchers who have quietly but methodically documented the effects of THC on serious mental illness, and he makes a convincing case that a recreational drug marketed as an all-around health product may, in fact, be really dangerous—especially for people with a family history of mental illness and for adolescents with developing brains.

The statement that "Weed doesn't make people violent" is demonstrably false.  The statement that weed is safer than alcohol is also demonstrably false.  Marijuana has more carcinogens than tobacco, and Safety goons have been trying to stamp out Devil Weed for decades now.  By legalizing recreational marijuana, we're expanding the user base of people who are consuming THC in levels that would have made 60's stoners sit back and say "Maybe that's too much, man!".

Paranoia and psychosis make people dangerous, so rising use of a drug that causes both would be expected to increase violent crime, rather than reduce it as pot advocates claim. Berenson looked at data for the four states that legalized weed in 2014 and 2015—Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Colorado—and calculated a combined 35 percent increase in murders in those states from 2013 to 2017, compared with a 20-percent rise nationally. This “isn’t a statistical anomaly,” Berenson writes. “It’s real.” 

The role of weed in rising violent crime rates in legalization states is a hotly contested question, especially in Colorado, where murders in Denver are at a 10-year high. Berenson admits he can’t say for sure whether those upswings are due to legal weed, but the raw data, he says, definitely contradicts advocates’ claims: “What I want people to stop saying is that legalization reduces violent crime. It doesn’t.”

I think the states that have legalized recreational marijuana are going to be the test experiments for the rest of the country, but I think that by the time we realize just how much damage marijuana does it'll be too late to do anything about it.

The problem isn't "homeless", the problem is the mentally ill and drug addicts.

But since we've close damn near all the mental wards, there's nowhere for the mentally ill to go.  So instead of given them treatment, we've told them to take a hike and hope for the best.  With predictable results.

Bring back the mental wards.  Bring back the insane asylums.  And stop allowing drug addicts to dictate our public policy.

Is it nice?  Well, probably not,  But is allowing a mentally ill person to scream at figments of their imagination and shit in public nice?  No.  Not at all.

There is not a single reason to trust the FBI or DOJ ever again

Since they have proven themselves to be absolutely corrupt.

In this case, the FBI and the Justice Department have succeeded in the most significant coverup in American political history. The abuses of power and crimes they have succeeded in covering up are not only against the law: they are crimes against our system of law and government. They were perpetrated by employees of the government, under color of law, with the intention of affecting the outcome of an election. 

For almost two years an investigation into the abuses of power — and probable crimes — committed by the FBI and Justice Department during the election has been conducted by House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence chairman Devin Nunes (R-Cal).  Rep. Bob Goodlatte — chairman of the Judiciary Committee — and Trey Gowdy — chairman of the Oversight and government reform committee — tried to investigate other aspects of the FBI and DoJ actions. 

These investigations have been stonewalled by the refusal of the FBI and Justice Department to produce the documents and provide access to witnesses that would, in all likelihood, prove that the major abuses of power and crimes had been committed.

I don't think this is a case of "Absolute power corrupts absolutely", I think this is a case where people who are already corrupt are drawn to places and jobs that give them the power to continue their corruption.  Certain James Comey, noted Clinton lackey and all around bitch-boy, was corrupt long before he was given the job at the FBI.  In fact, his corruption and law-breaking was certainly one of the reasons he got the job in the first place.

The two important products of those investigations were the 18 January 2017 memo declassified by President Trump and released by Nunes and the newly released 28 December 2018 letter from Goodlatte and Gowdy addressed to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, and DoJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz. 

If this is the first you’ve heard of the 28 December letter, that’s because it’s been studiously ignored by the media.

Read the whole thing.  Our legal system at the Federal level only exists to keep their friends and allies in power.  I cannot think of anything more detrimental to this country than to have different laws applied to people based on their political connections.  But that's what we have in this country right now.  Hell, it's a big part of the reason Trump got elected.  But I don't think he can fix it.  To go with what NeanderPundit has been saying for a while:  I don't think we're voting our way out of this.

I didn't watch the Golden Globes. I'll admit it. I would rather sit through a concert of second-graders playing the recorder than force myself to watch Hollywood weirdos give themselves awards. However, news from these stupid events is inescapable. I was surfing Twitter last night when I was assaulted by this image of some THOT I don't know trying to squeeze her nipples into this dress that looks like it was designed by Edward Scissorhands.

Given that I don't watch TV, and to me "Golden Globes" are when a young, non-anorexic Angelina Jolie went naked in "Gia", I'm pretty much of the opinion that Hollywood actresses could go naked all day long and I still wouldn't really give a shit.  This is why the PoundMeToo movement pretty much went nowhere.  Normal Americans aren't going to take the moral lead from a group of people who are practically responsible for 50% of the STDs in America.  Not only that, but we all know they're a bunch of hypocrites.

That they go from "Stop Objectifying me!" to "Look how this dress barely covers my tits!" gives normal people whiplash from watching it.

I admit, I'm one of these people so indoctrinated

About cleaning my guns.  I blame the military.  If my Sergeant could stick his finger in the chamber and find any carbon residue, that rifle didn't go into the armory until I had scraped it clean.  But modern firearms might not need such a white-glove treatment.

The U.S. military has a gun cleaning fetish that is a holdover from the days of corrosive primers (and black powder before that.) Boiling water cleaning and "white glove" intolerance for carbon have probably resulted in more guns being cleaned to death than shot to death. 

In reality, most modern firearms just need lubricant, and even that's to a varying degree. Current polymer-framed guns like the Glock, where the "frame rails" are tiny little tabs with hardly any bearing surface that mostly exist to keep the slide flying in close formation with the frame, are tolerant of running pretty dry. 

Occasional attempts to dispel these myths, like Uncle Pat's efforts with Filthy 14, manage to change a few minds, but the culture of squeaky clean remains well-entrenched.

Read it all, if you wish.  Given that ALL of my pistols (other than the .22) could be carried depending the current weather, I tend to clean those every time I go to the range, and I make sure the rails are properly lubed.  I clean all of my .22LR firearms religiously, because .22LR ammo is notoriously filthy.  But I don't tear my pistols down to the base components every time.  I normally just field strip them, make sure the barrel is clean, wipe out the carbon with some CLP and put them back together.  Even still, I'm pretty sure I'm far more thorough than I have to be.  Some training you just can't break.

How did America become a nation of slobs?

Go to any public arena—a sports event, a shopping mall, Wal-Mart, you name it—and you realize the standard of dress for men and women, adults and children, has reached a low point in American history. Blue jeans are de rigueur; t-shirts with slogans, some of them billboards of obscenity, assault the eyes; pajama bottoms are worn to the grocery store; restaurant patrons appear at lunch looking as if they had just rolled out of the sack; grown men wear baseball caps while eating steaks at Outback.

I started noticing this at Church.  Now, even if you're not religious, you can understand that for someone who IS religious, when we go into the house of God we should show respect.  Hell, I wear nice clothing whenever we have dinner with my father in law, and my wife can't stand him.  So if I can show a man my wife cannot stand a little respect by dressing decently, how much more respect should I show God in his own house?

Sadly, I'm typically the best dressed man at church.  And I'm not wearing black tie and tails here.  I typically wear an oxford shirt with a tie, and a sports coat, along with a pair of dress pants.  During the summer, when it's hot and humid enough to melt the windows from your car, I wear a polo shirt and nice pants.  And I'm still the best dressed.

What do you see?  Men wearing shirts with collars.  Many of them wearing ties.  Men dressed to go out to a GAME.  And they dressed well.

When did we become such slobs?  When did we lose the respect for ourselves?

My wife has several chef's coats for when she does events and people are helping her out in the kitchen.  Even in the middle of working their asses off, we want people who we serve to know that they are being served by PROFESSIONALS.  A lot of the uniform regulations that made me scratch my head as a 20 year old make sense if you understand that Soldiers are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS.

Howsabout this for a New Year's resolution?  Dress better.

Memories

My Aunt used to own a bed and breakfast in Santa Barbara.  This was back in the 80's.  She died in the 80's, which was why my family found itself on a train going down the coast to her B&B before she died.  Long story, but if you want to know a small part of why I'm opposed to drug use, this is part of it.  My aunt was a hard-core drug user in her youth, and it came back to bite her in her 40's.  She died before she ever saw 50.

In any case, my parents gave me a radio and earphones in order to keep me occupied on the train ride.  I had a cassette tape of the Beach Boys Pet Sounds, and I was enthralled.  So much to the point where I was singing along with the music at every opportunity I had, which was rather irritating to the rest of the passengers on the train.  But I made sure I knew every vocal part to the song.  Two days on a train, and my parents were probably ready to kill me. 

Anyways, this is what brought that memory on.

And even when some media outlets opined about whether Flynn’s contacts with Russia were treasonous. 

Every accusation against LTG Mike Flynn has been a lie.  Not a small lie, but an outrageous, blatant huge lie.

Motherfuckers in D.C. need to go to jail for the way they've gone after Flynn, and how they lied and lied and lied in order to push a political narrative instead of the truth.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies it is $338.3 billion.         The center breaks it down as follows: $22 billion on social services; $2.2 billion on food assistance; $2.5 billion on Medicaid, $29 billion on education ($12 billion on primary and secondary education for children here illegally who cannot speak English; $17 billion for children born here by illegal parents); $3 million per day to incarcerate illegal immigrants (30 percent of all federal prison inmates are illegal immigrants); $90 billion on illegal aliens for welfare. Lastly $200 billion in suppressed American wages. 

Add to this the cost of deportation at $46 billion annually.

Can anyone defending illegal aliens explain to me why the USA needs these people here?

Showing a particular out-of-touchedness that highlighted his failed run for president in 2012, Romney cited public opinion polls — in Germany, the UK, France, Canada and Sweden — opposed to Trump as evidence of his shortcomings. Since when is pursuing U.S. interests contingent upon appealing to foreign populations? If going to Iraq had been a global referendum, we would have never gone in. 

What Trump has done, which is long overdue, is emphatically state that the U.S. will act, on foreign trade and relations, in a manner that benefits the U.S. first. No more one-sided trade deals designed to redistribute American wealth overseas. No more free lunches for the NATO alliance, either. These are measured responses to bankrupt policies that were bankrupting the nation with open-ended military engagements, open borders and the outsourcing of millions of jobs.

Romney would have been a horrible president.  Maybe better than Obama, sure, but that's a low bar to set.  Trump has been the 2nd most conservative president of my lifetime, and certainly the most Libertarian president.  Regulations are going DOWN.  Taxes went DOWN.  Troops being pulled from areas where there's no declaration of war. 

Romney's attack on Trump was short-sighted and wrong, and it did indeed highlight why he was such a loser in 2012.  He'll be just another RINO in Congress that we'll have to deal with for six years.  Thanks, Utah.

Why, exactly, does the IRS have fully-automatic assault weapons?

Federal Marshals?  Obviously need guns.  Border Patrol?  I'd give them fully armored vehicles with M2's mounted on a turret to take care of the Coyotes and the cartels.  But the National Institute of Health?

The IRS?  Excuse the hell out of me, but the IRS has already shown it cannot be trusted with any kind of power.  Why the hell does the IRS have fully automatic assault weapons?

It's not hard to understand why the media is hated and viewed as untrustworthy. There is an unprecedented amount of media labor directed at assaulting the president regarding any trivial issue. President Trump's recent trip to visit Iraq really triggered the crazy to come out. Maybe it was because the media enjoyed wagging their finger at the president because he hadn't visited the troops? Whoops. 

In particular, there was concern that Trump signing MAGA hats for the troops during his visit was some kind of Hatch Act violation or he was tricking the dummies in the military into being part of his political campaign? This is really, really reaching, don't you think?

I'm glad I left Seattle when I did

When we left in 2004, the "finding used heroin needles" issue was mostly contained on Capitol Hill and First Hill.  Now it's pretty much spread to the entire city, as the socialists run amok with predictable results.

Seattle is under siege. Over the past five years, the Emerald City has seen an explosion of homelessness, crime, and addiction. In its 2017 point-in-time count of the homeless, King County social-services agency All Home found 11,643 people sleeping in tents, cars, and emergency shelters. Property crime has risen to a rate two and a half times higher than Los Angeles’s and four times higher than New York City’s. Cleanup crews pick up tens of thousands of dirty needles from city streets and parks every year.

When you subsidize something, you get more of it.  It really is that simple.  When you make it easy for drug addicts and homeless people to congregate in an area, and give them money and food and all the things they want, you end up with more drug addicts and homeless people.

At the same time, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the Seattle metro area spends more than $1 billion fighting homelessness every year. That’s nearly $100,000 for every homeless man, woman, and child in King County, yet the crisis seems only to have deepened, with more addiction, more crime, and more tent encampments in residential neighborhoods. By any measure, the city’s efforts are not working.

Whoa, whoa whoa....  let's not just skip over that ONE BILLIONS DOLLARS.  If they're spending $100,000 per homeless person to "fight homelessness", where the hell is that money going?  I'm willing to bet it's going into the same place that it goes in every socialist-run location:  Into the pockets of the politically connected.

My body is defeating the virus

And it is now in the "expel all the collected gunk" phase of this particular illness.  Which is an improvement over the "feel like you're suffocating" phase of Thursday and Friday.  Although it's rather gross.  Luckily, we're somewhat rural out here, so when I walk out the back door and expectorate a lung-biscuit into the bushes there aren't any neighbors to complain about it.

We're doing some pet-sitting for friends who are Christmas-ing in Texas.  They have a tortoise.  I've never owned a tortoise, so this was rather new for me.  Apparently they like heat, humidity, and lots of greens.  He's got us trained rather well at this point.  He comes out, perches on his food dish, and he gets tasty greens to nom on.  It's a rather small tortoise for now, so it's not much of an issue.  And cleaning up after him is easy. 

He really likes spinach. 

Off I go to hack up another hairball.

Yes, IQ does matter.  Now think of this in relation to the Islamic world, where marrying your 1st cousin is an accepted practice, which brings along with it a whole host of genetic issues as well as lowered IQ.

On Trump removing troops from Syria

At this point, any time Americans are deployed overseas, two questions need to be asked:

1 - What is the objective?
2 - What are the markers by which we can see we have achieved that objective?

If you cannot answer both questions, don't send the troops.  Period.

And I am not the first person to notice that many of the people who howled about illegal wars are now howling about Trump pulling troops out from a country that we never declared war on.

When I went to the Doc on Wednesday, he gave me a prescription for antibiotics and said "If you're not improving by Saturday, start taking them."

I am ready to leave the South.  I've never had as many issues with illness as I have below the Mason-Dixon line.  I used to go down for a few days, pop back up and be good to go.  Nowadays it's weeks of respiratory problems.  I attribute that to an allergy season that never ends.  My body never fully recovers, it just switches to another fight.  Grass pollen, tree pollen, weed pollen, leaf mold, rinse your sinuses and repeat.  This cannot go on forever without things starting to break down.

Allergies.  Allergies, allergies, allergies.  I'm on medication, I do a sinus rinse every day, and right now my throat feels like razor blades and my nose is dripping.  Because the leaves are falling, it's been raining, and there's leaf mold everywhere.

Hell, there's just plan mold everywhere.  We have to clean our deck off a couple times a year to keep the mold from making things too slick, and oh by the way this deck sits in the sun.  It's not exactly shaded.  And it gets mold.  Everywhere.

I'm surrounded by trees.  Those trees are dropping leaves.  The leaves are molding.  And that mold is trying to have sex with my mucus membranes via its spores, causing me to cough, sneeze and wheeze.

Send me back up North, please.  Give me my pine trees and my mountains.  I'm done with this Southern experiment.  I'll take snow over allergies any day of the week.

There are really only three companies in the world that produce oil filters, and then other companies buy them and put their name on them.  My mechanic buddies would always tell me to avoid Fram and buy a Wix filter.  In their words, the Fram filters were cardboard crap.  This video explains oil filters better than my buddies could.  After all, a picture is worth a thousand words.



I've been putting Wix filters on the bike.  Since the car is under warrantee, it gets whatever filters the dealership puts in.  But once I start changing that oil as well, it'll be getting a Wix.

Or parchment, if you prefer.  Take the writer of that piece, for example.  This woman was lied to, over and over, by people who told her that a college degree was some sort of magic bullet.  So she got two degrees.  A Bachelor's in English, and a Master's in "Creative Writing".

WTF is "Creative Writing", and exactly how many creative writing jobs are floating around out there?

So now she's working as a waitress.  Because her degrees are worthless, and probably will be for the rest of her life as she pays off her student debt.

In October of 2017, the stress and calls from unpaid creditors forced me to finally give in and file for personal bankruptcy. By January, I had lost my car and cleared my nonacademic debts. I defended my thesis the same month and graduated—happy to have finally attained my life jacket of a degree. 

I searched for teaching opportunities that would give me the income and flexibility needed to keep my business going. I applied for jobs in every market in my area. Teaching jobs, specifically for creative writing or English, were virtually nonexistent in my city, and the other positions required Ph.D.s and prior teaching experience. Awesome, I thought. Teaching was out of the question for now. I decided to look for acting jobs or writing jobs in the area. The closest one was in Austin, 30 miles away from me. Without a car, that didn’t seem possible.

So she had to declare bankruptcy, which by the way doesn't clear the student loans that she took out to get a degree that didn't qualify her to be a fry cook at McDonalds.

I think that the people pushing college should be forced to sit down and show what jobs are available to that particular field, and how much they pay, and how many (or how few) jobs actually exist.  When I got out of high school, I was set up to go for a double major in Music and English.  Since I hated school at that point with the burning fury of a thousand stars, I passed on the college experience.  And while I'm now in the process of getting a degree, one class at a time, I think that skipping college was probably one of the smartest moves I could have made in my life.  Exactly what the hell was I going to do with a double major in Music and English?  How many Music/English jobs are out there that would pay me enough to afford a house and a car?  No, I got my priorities in order, and the bottom line is that without a degree I'm far more employable with my skills than a college grad and their English/Creative Writing/Social Justice/Gender Studies degree.  With the added bonus that I can be trusted to show up on time.

These are a waste of your time and effort, if you expect to work in those fields and/or be able to afford to eat anything more than ramen.

Range Day

For some reason, I can't hit the broad side of a barn with my Walther P-22.  But I'm wondering if it's the ammo.  So I picked up a variety of ammo, and I'm taking it to the range.  Fifty rounds of five different ammunition should give me an idea if it's me, the gun, or the ammo.

My last range session, I got so irritated at my "groupings" with the P-22 that I grabbed my Taurus and dumped a mag into the target at a fairly high rate of speed, and got a grouping I could cover with the palm of my hand.  So if I can shoot twelve rounds of 9mm into a three inch circle at seven yards, why does twenty rounds of .22LR look like the spread from birdshot?

We'll see what happens.  I've got CCI, Blazer, Remington Golden Bullet (in 36 and 40 grain) and Aguila.  I'm hoping that I can figure out what the heck is going on.

Following the termination of these accounts, many people speculated that Patreon was selectively enforcing their Community Guidelines in order to target right-of-center influencers.  What better way to test this theory then to see if left-of-center Patreon users are being dinged for their “manifest observable behavior”. 

Here is what we found. 

There are several far-left users who appear to be blatantly violating Pareon’s Community Guidelines. These users are raising thousands of dollars each month and are actively using that money to organize and advocate for violent and often illegal criminal activity.

It seems that all the tech platforms, being run out of the Bay Area, have adopted the Leftist fascism as their political mantra.  I wish I had answers.  I don't.  Hell, I'm just a little fish in a big pond, but I keep waiting for google to find this little blog and end it for badthink.

Take a look at who Patreon proudly allows to use their website to collect funds.  People who identify as Communists who want to violently end the "owning class".  But Sargon of Akkad gets cut off?

These people on the Left actually want a civil war.  They're hoping for it, because they think they'll be in charge when the smoke clears.  Because they're fucking morons.

Modern feminism will make women miserable, lonely and alone.

Refusing to learn from history and experience only hardens people against the feedback from reality they need to make their lives better through smarter decisions. Thinking that the experience and wisdom of humans across time has a claim on our present behavior allows a form of troubleshooting and decisionmaking using billions of accumulated datapoints. Yes, it requires humility to consider whether your presuppositions and behavior are wrong, but what you may lose in feminist scorekeeping you reap a hundredfold in a richly happy life. How do I know? It’s happened to me.

Men and women are supposed to exist together in a complementary state.  Feminism keeps women apart and refuses to allow women to be complementary to men. 

Feminism turns women into men with vaginas.  Under feminism, a woman's value is the sum total of the sexual pleasure she can bring a man, because under feminism, a woman has never been taught to do what makes her special and unique.  The end result of a woman steeped in feminism is:  No family, no kids, no home, just another paycheck and access to vaginas.  Which men can get anywhere, and we can get it pretty much at any age depending on our success at making money.  Which makes a feminist woman valueless.
