On the shit-canning of Kevin Williamson

Ace sums up quite a few of my opinions about it:

This is most of the reason people voted for Trump: everyday Americans who are not insulated from toxic Social Justice Warrior mobbing by virtue of the fact of working for a (nominally) conservative magazine are sick and tired of being bullied and want someone to finally start pushing back. 

But the cucks laugh at that rationale. Why, it's silly to think you're being bullied, Hobbits. 

But now Kevin Williamson, who was blazing a trail that many of the cucks hoped to follow by decamping to a truly educated, sophisticated place like The Atlantic (not quite educated and sophisticated enough to know that French words end in -isme not ism, but at least more educated and sophisticated than the outlets serving the TrumpenProletariat) is the victim of Social Justice Warrior mobs demanding bloody scalps for speech they don't like, and now the cucks are suddenly bothered by this form of sociocorporate totalitarianism.

Kevin Williamson was one of the first people to attack and insult Trump supporters during the run-up to the 2016 election.  It wasn't "We have some disagreements", it wasn't "Let me convince you to vote for my guy", it was "You Trumpkins are stupid idiots and your towns should just die and cease to exist."  No, really, he was the guy who essentially told working-class whites that all of those factories closing and coal mines shutting down was their fault, and they just need to shut up and move.  Or die. 

It's amazing that once we had a government that didn't kow-tow to China or the EU, jobs came back.  It's amazing that once we had a government who actually understood that taking over 1/3 of profits from a company as taxes is BAD for business, we started having job growth.  Quite a few of those places that Kevin Williamson wanted to just shut up and die are making a come-back, or at least starting to turn around, and it's due to the man that Kevin Williamson hated so much that his hatred overflowed to that man's supporters.

But back to Williamson's firing, and the bevy of Liberal Republicans all falling on their fainting couches:

But now that they got Kevin Williamson, it's only now a tragedy worth discussing, eh?

Williamson was quite possibly the worst anti-Trumper at National Review, and that's saying something.  After they came out with their "The Case Against Trump" issue, I cancelled my subscription.  That's not a shock to most folks.  What shocked the hell out of me was this:  My father did the same. 

NR went off the rails and into liberal delusions gradually, but they followed Sarah Hoyt's dictum:  Roll Left, then Die.  They fired Mark Steyn.  They fired John Derbyshire.  They got rid of some of the most eloquent conservative voices, and then they went hard against the man who would eventually win the Oval Office.  Williamson was jumping ship while the jumping was good, and now he's figured out what the rest of us already knew:  THE LEFT HATES YOU, NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY TO APPEAL TO THEM. 

I've seen lots of shock at the sheer schadenfreude that has come from Williamson's firing.  The establishment RINOs are in full scolding mode, fingers shaking and chins wobbling.  What they don't understand is that they could all suffer the same thing that happened to Williamson, and we wouldn't care.  They have already told us what they think of us.  The scorn and distain drips from every Williamson piece, and they take every opportunity to express their disgust with us low, common people who voted for Trump instead of their donor-class figurehead.  The Trump Derangement Syndrome is still growing in people like Williamson, but they're finally forced to face the reality that their awesome liberal Democrat cocktail party pals won't help them out like they thought would happen.

Oh well. Guess you're stuck with us, cucks. Looks like the Cool Kids you admire you so much don't admire you enough to let you sit at their table for longer than a few minutes. 

Maybe this will finally open your eyes to what's actually going on right now.

Williamson getting fired falls under the category of "Stupidity becoming painful again".  I expect the first dose of reality won't take.  Its going to require multiple doses in the future, and there's no guarantee that it'll actually work.

But now, the Washington Post reports that a new study shows Warren’s figures to be wildly off-the-mark. The new study finds that, in reality, hospitalizations cause only about 4 percent of bankruptcies among the non-elderly adults. This finding is based on hospitalizations that occurred several years before the federal Affordable Care Act expanded insurance coverageto millions of Americans. 

What about the uninsured? The study estimates that hospitalizations were responsible for only about 6 percent of bankruptcies among this group.

And yet those lies were used to push Obamacare, one of the most repugnant pieces of legislation ever put forth by Congress.

Flew into the GOOD airport, not the monstrosity that is O'Hare.  Working and getting information that should have been readily available when I first got to my position.  Better late than never, I guess.  This job has firmed up my resolve in a number of areas, the first of which is that I'm done cleaning up other people's messes without consequence for the mess-makers.

Maybe I can find a good cigar place close to my hotel....

How do you "care" for the poor

When the reason they are poor is that they refuse to do a damn thing to help themselves?

I stumbled across this article, and I can confirm that the homeless are pretty much taking over LA.  Yeah, there's millions of people living there, but you'd be amazed at how much an affect 50k homeless can have on a city.

You would also be amazed at how much alcohol and marijuana they are consuming, among other things.  And how often they'll just steal whatever they can from you in order to fund their drugs.

So here's my question:  given that we know, from experience that any money given to the homeless goes into booze or drugs.  We know that if we give them a place to live, they will turn it into a shit-strewn hovel of drugs, trash and crime.  We know that if we give them a job, they most likely won't go to it, because that would interfere with their drugs and booze.  How do we know this?  Because we have the concrete examples of various shelters and organizations that help the homeless who's only real demand is no drugs, no booze.  St. Vincent De Paul in my hometown has a program for the homeless that gives them three hots and a cot, clothing, an address, and references, all to help them get back on their feet.  The only conditions are A) work one hour PER WEEK in the shop, and B) you must stay sober.  No booze or drugs.

Over 90% of the homeless who are told these conditions walk right back out.  They want a hand-out, not a hand up.  They don't want to get sober and turn their life around, they just want people to give them the money and things they need in order to stay drunk and high.

So, how do you help people like that?

This is just my opinion, but you force them to hit rock bottom.  A person cannot change unless they want to change.  They cannot be saved unless they want to be saved.  And as long as they have a way to keep getting drunk or high, they won't want to change.  They have to hit absolute bottom before they make the choice to change.

There are programs out there that actually help the homeless.  I've seen them.  But demand sobriety, and accountability.  Anyone who turns that down should get nothing. 

And yes, I know that means some people will die.  If they refuse to get help and get off whatever drug they are on, they're going to die anyway.  The question is just a matter of when, and how much grief and money that addict is going to cost their family and society before they die.  My answer to that is "As little as possible for the good of society."

In the mean time, to anyone who demands that we give the homeless their camps and their free shit, the only question is this:  How many tons of human waste, garbage, and used needles would you accept in your neighborhood?  How many criminals do you want hanging around your house? 

Living in a world where the homeless are coddled means living in a world where everything you own must be locked up or locked down.  Living in a world where the homeless are coddled means security doors with two or three locks on them.  Living in a world where the homeless are coddled means not taking a walk in the park because the drug addicts who shit directly in the walking path also chase you, screaming gibberish, for daring to wake them up by walking past them while they marinate in their piss-soaked clothing.

For the mentally ill, re-open the asylums.  Have a place where they can be treated and cared for.  Or again, deal with the crazy cat lady chasing your kid down the sidewalk, howling in insane rage over something that doesn't exist.  Deal with the guy shitting in your rosebushes in the early morning because the voices in his head have told him that a steady job was the alien's way of controlling his spleen and he just can't do that and survive.

Stop with the hand-outs, and quite a bit of the homeless would be forced to either change their habits, or die.  And then you can truly help the people who actually need it.

If God just started snuffing beings out of existence when they made a choice that wasn’t in accord with His will, wouldn’t that cheapen all life and existence to the point of meaninglessness? Wouldn’t all rational beings just be mere object-playthings at that point? Yep.

The way things are going, I fully expect to be expelled from a Catholic Church sometime in my lifetime, simply for the fact that I follow God and expect priests to do the same.  Jorge Bergolio has already caused some priests to omit his name during the Mass, for the simple fact that these priests can see by his works that he's not a man of God.  If the Catholic Church continues down this path, there's another schism in the works.

Red streaks are bad, m'kay?

Got home last night, with my wrist hurting worse than it had in the morning.  Took my uniform top off, and saw red streaks going from my wrist to my elbow on the inside of my arm.

Went to hospital, where a nice doctor looked me over and said "Yep, that's cellulitis!"  And gave me lots of antibiotics.  In case you don't know (like I didn't) cellulitis is essentially an infection under the skin, normally caused by some sort of staphylococcus bacteria.  How did it get there?  Hell if I know.  Maybe a bug bite.  I have no clue.

So anyways, I'm now on two different antibiotics.  Yay me.  I'll be shitting like a goose in a couple of days.

I have done something to my wrist

And I'll be damned if I know what.  But it hurts.  Moving it hurts.  Typing hurts.  Picking things up hurts.  I think I need to find a doctor, because this ain't normal, and it's not a sprain.

The FBI allowed Hina Alvi, wife of Imran Awan, to board the plane anyway — then filed paperwork saying agents believed she had no intention of returning to the U.S. 

For nearly a year since, the case has lingered despite the House Office of Inspector General (OIG) determining that the family of Pakistanis made “unauthorized access” to Congress’s data shortly before the election.

There are only two options here:  A) These FBI agents were so incompetent that they need to be kicked out of the FBI and any other government job for the rest of their lives, or B) they're corrupt and worked with the DNC to hide and protect Imran Awan and his family.

Either way, nobody should ever trust the FBI to actually do their jobs ever again.  Because they've proven that they either will not, or cannot, and in the end it boils down to the same thing.

For those who don't know, Imran Awan worked for multiple Democrat congress-critters, including Debbie Wassermann-Schultz when she was head of the DNC.  I'd love to know what info they got off those Democrat computers.  But the FBI has essentially made sure that we will never know.

During a recent trip to India, Clinton told attendees at a conference in Mumbai that Americans did not "deserve" a Trump presidency, said she won the states "that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward," and said that Trump's campaign was "looking backwards." 

Clinton summed up Trump's message as "you know, you didn't like black people getting rights, you don't like women, you know, getting jobs. You don't want, you know, to see that Indian American succeeding more than you are."

Personally, I hope she keeps her "I hate America and normal Americans" tour going for another couple of years.  I want folks to have the reason Trump won the election front and center for as long as possible.  The Clintons ARE the Democrat Party, and have been ever since 1992.  They are some of the most corrupt, power-hungry, greedy, sleazy, evil people this country has ever seen, and the Democrats protected them against all the consequences of their actions, until they couldn't anymore.  So now the dowager Empress of Chappaqua is running around explaining to the world that the people who elected Donald Trump are the worst things ever, and it's all caught on video. 

All you have to do is listen to these people, and they'll tell you exactly what they think of you.  And make no mistake, their opinions are shared by millions of ProgNazis on both coasts, who hate you just as much or MORE than Hillary Clinton does.

Last week a retailer of outdoor equipment, REI, suspended all purchases of Vista Outdoors goods. Vista is the parent company for many brands you might normally see in outdoor stores including Camp Chef, Giro, Bell, Camelbak and Blackburn. Vista is also well-known in the shooting sports industry for brands such as Federal Premium Ammunition and Savage Arms. 

“REI does not sell guns. We believe that it is the job of companies that manufacture and sell guns and ammunition to work towards common sense solutions that prevent the type of violence that happened in Florida last month.” (read REI’s full statement) The apparent underlying logic is that Vista Outdoors should be policing customers and fighting crime should be part of gear maker’s business model.

Since 1976 REI has donated $77 million to conservation. Last year they donated $9.3 million to the outdoors. Those may sound like big numbers until held up against annual sales of $2.56 billion. This means that REI donated just one-third of 1% of sales to support the wild places from which it garners mountains of money. 

In 2017 alone Vista Outdoors’ brands generated $87 million for the Federal Aid and Wildlife Restoration Act—more money in a single year than REI donated in 42 years. Hunters and target shooters are paying a premium on products in support of the outdoors. REI is profiting from shooting sports’ investment, then pointing a scolding finger with the hand opposite the one clutching cash.

REI can now kiss my hairy ass.  The place is full of pretentious assholes to begin with - the only reason I shopped there was because they had the shoes I wore for running.  But I can find those shoes elsewhere at this point, and the other camping gear can be found anywhere else as well.  Piss on REI.

Daylight Savings Time

I hate this shit.  Spring forward, fall back, blah blah blah.  "Oh, but you get an hour more daylight!"  What a crock of shit.  I'm up before the sun comes up, and I'm in bed after the sun goes down, and it doesn't really matter what time of year it is.

It's hard enough to translate a book into a movie

But if your goal is to stuff it full of as many liberal, PC, SJW messages as possible, you're just going to ruin it.  Which is why A Wrinkle In Time is A Waste Of Time.

A yellow brick backyard pathway and an otherworldly twister (neither from the book) presumably are attempts to evoke “The Wizard of Oz,” which is like slapping Ferrari decals on a 1971 Pinto. Also, forget about giving what should have been called “A Waste of Time” a pass because it might be good enough for kids. “A Wrinkle in Time” is so unconvincing, uninvolving and unlikeable that expecting even small children to enjoy it seems cruelly condescending.

The real title of this movie should have been "A SJW Message that Never Ends".

A female character known as the Happy Medium in the book is now male (Zach Galifianakis). Calvin’s abusive mother is now an abusive father. Meg’s father has been missing for four years instead of two. A character transforms into a flying green leaf-creature instead of a winged white centaur. Instead of taking place in an imposingly grim office building, an encounter with the evil “man with red eyes” (Michael Peña, known here simply as Red) takes place on a sunny, umbrella-crowded beach. 

The movie completely ignores L’Engle’s creepy description of the book’s main villain as an oversized, disembodied brain. Even the ending is altered — mild spoiler alert — by having Meg rely upon another character’s feelings toward her, instead of triumphing solely by expressing hers toward him.

I loved the book.  Shouldn't have been a shock there.  I hate seeing books turned into movies, because even the best movie can't capture everything that a book puts forth.  But I'll be passing on this disaster.  I have better things to do than be preached at by a hypocritical Hollywood hack.

Easter Ham

The Mrs. is allergic to nitrates, so we typically don't eat much ham at the Raging Casa.  Unless we make it ourself, which is a rather time consuming process.  But we figured what the hell, let's do this.  So we got a pork shoulder, rubbed it down with salt and spices, then set it in the fridge and just drained the liquid off every now and then.  Today it's going on the smoker for twelve hours or so.  Once that's been accomplished, we're going to cure it in wine for two weeks.  It's a cross between an old Italian method and a standard American method.

Bake it on Easter, and yum yum yum!

A 32-year-old Bloomington man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly hid in a women’s bathroom at Minneapolis Community and Technical College, then crawled into a stall in an attempt to sexually assault a woman.

Asad Abu Mohamed of Bloomington is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct, making terroristic threats and fourth degree assault of a school official.

"Bloomington" man?  Not a chance.  Just another Somali muslim doing what Somali muslims do no matter where they are in the world.

The woman immediately began kicking and screaming at Mohamed. She told police, he covered her mouth and told her he would kill her. The woman continued screaming and struggling with Mohammed. In the struggle, he ripped out her earring and pulled her hair. The woman told police she was convinced he was going to rape her. 

Bystanders nearby heard her screams and came to help. They found Mohamed choking the woman with one hand and smoking a glass pipe with his other hand. The woman was screaming and hitting Mohamed while her pants and underwear were down around her knees.

(KUTV) — A juvenile was arrested Tuesday morning after a 'potentially' dangerous homemade device was found at Pine View High School on Monday. 

The juvenile was interviewed as a person of interest, police say.
During the interview with investigators, the suspect admitted to taking the American flag down and replacing it with an ISIS flag at Hurricane High School. 

The suspect also admitted to spray painting "ISIS IS COMI" on the school that same morning, police say.

When the Miami Herald is piling on Sheriff Israel....

Israel said that Peterson should have charged inside, confronted the gunman and killed him. Tough talk for the cameras, but several other deputies apparently did not go into the building, either. 

Peterson resigned and, speaking through his lawyer last week, defended his actions. He said that he was not a coward and that he thought the shots were coming from outside. 

Last week, the Herald obtained documents that show a BSO captain ordered deputies to form a perimeter, possibly after the shooting was over, and not telling them to rush into the building. This contradicts what Israel said was the protocol. 

No, what the videos would reveal are not “security plans,” as the sheriff claims. Rather they will reveal that there was probably confusion over the plan, or flawed communication of said plan. 

It’s obvious that, whatever the plan, it was hopelessly bungled that awful afternoon of Feb. 14. What in the world could the release of the video recordings possibly compromise now?

Scott Israel is a politically correct buffoon, not an actual, honest-to-god Sheriff, and his actions prove that out.  The longer the focus stays on the Parkland shooting, the more information comes out that makes every single level of government look bad.  Right now this douche-canoe is probably wishing he'd never pushed those kids into the lime-light and gave them their DNC talking points, because the more those twerps run around insulting gun owners, the longer people look at the Parkland shooting and wonder why, if the government failed at every level, they should give up their guns for the "protection" provided by this buffoon and the flaming jack-asses at the FBI.

FBI agent Peter Strzok was told of a possible breach into the Hillary Clinton's homebrewed server but didn't do anything about it. What ARE they doing at the FBI? "What would you say you do here?" They aren't following up on tips of a possible school shooter, they aren't following up on foreign hacking of the Secretary of State's illegal email server, so what?

At this point, I wouldn't trust the FBI to find anything, since they're more concerned about a fake story contained in a dossier funded by Clinton and concocted out of this air.

Yesterday, when we looked at the final polling going into the Italian elections, it appeared that the coalition of right-wing parties seeking to curb forced migration would take roughly a combined 32 to 35 percent of the vote. As it turns out, they did even better, coming in with an estimated 37%. This is still short of a single-party majority, but impossible to ignore. It adds up to what is likely 123 seats in the lower house of the legislature where they previously held 22. 

Apparently, Italians are getting tired of Diversity coming into their house, stealing their food, trashing their property and raping their kids.  Who woulda thunk it?

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) fined Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign $14,500 for accepting illegal in-kind foreign contributions from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) during the 2016 elections.

While volunteering with the Sanders campaign, the Australians engaged in political activities “including encouraging voter attendance at campaign events, recruiting volunteers, canvassing with volunteers, and planning events,” according to the FEC. 

The Sanders campaign “treated the ALP delegates no differently from any other campaign out-of-town volunteers and was aware that they were receiving a stipend from the ALP,” the FEC added. 

The ALP spent $16,140 for the Australians’ flights to the United States and $8,282 for their daily stipends. The FEC determined that amounted to a $24,422 “prohibited in-kind foreign contribution” the Sanders campaign accepted from the ALP.
