Fumble fingers

I'm blogging from my tablet right now, which means my typing is less than perfect.  Please forgive any mistakes.

Speed demon

My rental car is a Nissan Versa.  If the previous renters had not beat the hell out of it, it would be a hot little ride.

Be Still

Every now and then, when you're lost in thought....  say, while driving through a thunderstorm in the middle of South Dakota in what SHOULD be mid-day light, and your little Suzuki is straining to keep up with your wife's much larger, stronger vehicle, and you're worried about the move, and how much it costs, and the new position, and, and, and.....

You hear that voice, and it simply says "Be Still, and know that I am God."

Followed by one of my favorites - "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

And yes, that's the Ragin' Mrs' vehicle ahead of me.  Her beast was pulling more weight than my vehicle weighs in total and she could still outpace me any time she wanted to.  But my scoot is a rag-top, which we love here in CA.  And I get about twice the gas mileage.  There's a price to be had for that power.

Blog stuff

Updated the blogroll a bit.  Got rid of some who hadn't posted for a while, added a few that I had in my personal blog folder.  There will be more coming as I see fit.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Outbound edition

"It’s interesting what happens when everyone begins to realize that a tyrant is on his way out. There’s a sense permission to stop pretending that everything is okay."

 !!!!

From my personal experience, the Military troops who support Obama are the same kool-aide guzzling, skin-color fixated idiots who would support him even if he was caught killing kittens while having sex with four year old boys.  You're never going to reach those folks.  But the sane people?  We're looking forward to November as the end of a huge error, and hoping we can undo the damage before it's too late.

Another day of unpacking

We're down to the slow part now, where we open up boxes, look inside and say "Well crap, where does this go?"  Add in the fact that we've gone from our own house with plenty of storage and a basement to a house with no basement, no porches, less storage and a much smaller yard.  We downsized before we left, and we'll be downsizing again before we make everything fit.

On the other hand, we have a pool.  Which rocks when the temps are in the triple digits, and all you want to do is cool off.

Friday, August 31, 2012

Oh Hell Yeah

!!!!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who isn't a walking fucking joke to the rest of the planet?  Let's make that happen in November, hmmmm?

Dichotomy

Mitt Romney has given away more of his personal money than Barack Obama has ever dreamed of donating; both in total, and as a percentage.

Maybe that's why the Left hates Mitt Romney so much - he's actually walking the walk when it comes to charity, while all that the Left can do is piss and moan about how they need to spend more of other people's money.

My Boss

Has a coin on their desk.  It's from a Vietnam Veteran's Association in New Jersey.  The front has a silhouette of Viet Nam.  The back has an inlaid picture of two hands clasped together.  On the edge of the coin are the words "Never Again will one generation of Veterans forsake another"

Day-um.  That's just about as strong a speech as you can put on a coin.

Why oh why

Do so many women bleach their hair blonde and keep their eyebrows a dark brown?

Folks, the thing I hate in the fairer sex is falsehood.  If you have A cups, be proud of them!  I'd rather see you have real A cups than fake D cups.  If you're a brunette, be proud!  I have loved a total of three women in my life.  One is my mother.  One is my ex-fiance.  And the third is my wife.  All of them have brown hair, and I love all of them for other reasons than their hair color.  For that matter, none of them have the same eye color or body type.

Changing your physical appearance in order to gain favor only gains the favor of superficial assholes who value physical looks over your real soul and personality.

Crisis Averted

The Seahawks didn't hold on to Terrel Owens.  My football world is at peace again.  For now.

Friday, August 24, 2012

I met a guy today.

His name was Al.  He was in the Army Air Corps during World War Two.  He enlisted thirty days after Pearl Harbor.  He was shipped to Europe six months later.  And, as he told me:  "We didn't have any planes.  They hadn't been built yet.  So we sat around being bombed by the Germans until we finally got something we could fight back with."

Dude.  Yeah, tell me how important that DA Form is.  Sure.

Al ended up doing four years.  After the war, he became an architect.  He pointed out a building that he had designed.  Doesn't like the war in Afghanistan, thinks we never should have gotten involved.  "Let 'em just kill each other.  That's what they do.  They've done it for centuries, why get involved?"

They were given high altitude fighter planes.  They could go up higher than anything the Germans had, so the Krauts didn't even bother going up after them.  So the wing commander told his unit to put a bomb on the plane, so that they could drop a few bombs, the Germans would think there were bombers in the air and scramble their fighters.  Al designed the bomb release latch.  Each fighter could carry one bomb.  The unit mocked up enough for twenty planes.  Al said they worked like a charm.  "They'd come on up thinking they were gonna shoot down a bomber, and we would just dive at 'em.  They were coming up slow, we were coming down fast, we'd blow them out of the air and then haul ass outta there.  We didn't want to stick around after that first hit.  We didn't dogfight.  One punch, and gone."

Al said they sent one of his latches back stateside, and the factories here put out hundreds within a week.  He was constantly amazed at how fast America could produce what was needed.  I wonder if we still have that capability now.  In fact, I know we don't.

I was glad I met Al today.

The Beer Fridge

Is plugged in and stocked.

This weekend might just turn out OK.

Fifteen hour days

They suck.  That is all.

Ruby Ridge

Insty has a link up about Ruby Ridge, 20 years later.

I wish I could report that the authorities' fear has faded in the decades since Ruby Ridge and Waco. Instead it has been institutionalized in the fusion centers that litter the country, where everybody from Ron Paul fans to anti-fracking activists have been tarred as potential terrorists. Meanwhile, the country's police forces have been steadily more militarized. What a sad and terrifying combination.

I was living in Coeur d'Alene when the Randy Weaver saga unfolded.  Ruby Ridge taught me that the government has absolutely no problem shooting an unarmed woman in the face when she's holding a baby in her arms.  I think that's a good lesson to learn, especially these days.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, FINALLY!!!! edition

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus:

“I’m a big believer in: if they punch us, we put on the brass knuckles and punch back,” he added.

!!!!

It only took decades, but we finally have someone willing to fight back against the Left.  Let's KEEP IT UP!

Picking up where I left off

Household goods arrive on Thursday.  Where's Dave going to be?  NOT at his house, for certain.  No, Dave is going to be TDY on military business, while the Ragin' Mrs deals with life's difficulties without him.  Again.

I swear, I think the hardest job in the military is to be a military spouse.  Thank God I married a strong woman.  Most women I know of would have divorced my ass by now.  Either that or cheated on me.

Might not have the basics, like electricity and the internets until tonight.  Soooooo.....  see ya then!

Old School

Found a parish that does the traditional Latin Mass close to our house.  Dave is happy.

BRILLIANT!

!!!!

And in case you were wondering...

Eric Boehlert is a gutless, Obama-fellating shill who isn't fit to wipe the dust of off a Navy SEAL's boots.

Maybe the Donk-Whore should have kept his pussy mouth shut if he couldn't handle the reaction he's getting.  Of course, if he kept his mouth shut all the time, he wouldn't be able to shove Obama's cock into it at will, which is what Media Matters seems to be doing these days.  Is that harsh?  Good.  It needs to be harsh.  These propaganda whores don't deserve civility.

Personal Day

Taking the dog to the dog park, then loading up some stuff to put into the house while it's empty.  Gonna be a rather mellow day, if I can help it.

Friday, August 17, 2012

A-Yup.

Just watch it.

We have a house to rent

Finishing up the paperwork today, and we move in officially on Monday.

You have no idea how relieved I am about that.  Well, maybe you do.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Intellectual Laziness edition

But he (Obama) is also a symbol, a living embodiment, of the failure of American education and its ongoing replacement by political indoctrination. He is a symbol of the new American elite, the new establishment, where left-liberal politics is no longer a conviction, no longer a way of thinking: it is built-in mind-furniture you take for granted without needing to think.

"Built-in Mind Furniture".   If that ain't the Left's philosophy in a nutshell.  That's why they work so hard to indoctrinate the kids in the Publik Skool Sistim.  That's why they want their illiterate, unlearned graduates.  The Left doesn't want people to actually think, they just want people to shut up and follow their orders.

!!!!

I must disagree with the statement, but not the article

Instapundit has a link to an article about how Gonorrhea is winning, and how we need newer, and better antibiotics.

I have a better idea - keep your dick in your pants, don't fuck women you don't know, always wear a condom, and Gonorrhea will die out.  Sexually Transmitted Diseases are very easy to avoid - do not have unprotected promiscuous sex.  We don't just need newer and better antibiotics, we need people to stop fucking like rats without any kind of rudimentary protection.  We need people to stop going into clubs and fucking people who's names they don't even know.  We need people to remember what it is to be human, instead of a rutting pig.

THAT is what we need.  But in the end, the problem will eventually kill itself out, along with the people it's infected.  And I really don't know if I'm going to cry too much about that.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, PREACH IT edition

Do try to read the whole thing, and understand just how this fight has to go.

Progressivism is fundamentally an ideology that calls for micromanagement of all aspects of life by supposed “experts” who have no real, practical experience with that which they hope to dominate. They wish to meddle in affairs that are too big for them: to run things that are beyond human control, too complex and unpredictable to be reined in, far beyond the reach of big, broad rules made by small, narrow men.

The original American ideal called for allowing people to direct their own lives as they see fit, without much in the way of interference or restraint, and trusted them in the main to make choices and pursue goals that would advance civilization on their own, in ways that could not possibly be predicted–or, sometimes, even imagined.

These things are NOT compatible. You either believe in the one, or the other. There can be no lasting compromise between them; one of them must win out in the end, and at the expense of the other. If it’s Progressivism that wins out, as it has been for decades now, freedom and Constitutional government will not only shrivel and die, it will be actively destroyed. Which is exactly what has been happening, slowly but surely…and painfully.

Still House Hunting

Holy crap, people here are smoking crack when they want three grand a month for the houses around here.  You want to know where the housing bubble was?  It was here in CA, where crack-smoking fucktards paid way too much for a house, and now want me to pay way too much in rent.

Fuck.

Boom

Why the Democrat's "Mediscare" won't work.

Get familiar with the numbers.  You're going to need them to push back against the Left's lies.

!!!!

And just like other advice from Erskine Bowles..

....Obama is going to ignore this as well:  Bowles says Ryan Budget is "sensible, honest and serious".

Hell, Obama ignored the Simpson-Bowles budget panel, I see no reason why he's going to pay any attention to Bowles this time around.

MUST HAVE!!!!

WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT!  Where can I get one?  Where does he get those wonderful toys?

UPDATE!!!!!  SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  AND THEY HAVE STICKERS TOO!

Modern Church Music....

....makes me grit my teeth.  Went to church this AM, and all the liturgical music had been re-done into some kind of hippy-dippy "Oh-look-at-how-I-can-syncopate-stuff" trash.

When even the Cantor has problems following the music, you're singing the wrong kind of music, mmm-kay?  You want to bring some sort of meaning back into the Mass?  Then sing the songs as they were meant to be sung.

Kyrie.

Gloria.

Sanctus.

Angus Dei.

Sing them in Latin.  Sing them to the music that they have been sung to for hundreds of years.  Don't pretend that some over-educated hippy from the 70's can rewrite these sacred songs for the better, because they clearly can not.  As Ann Barnhardt puts it, stop it with the Happy Super-fun Rockband church crap.

Go back to treating the Mass as worshiping God, not a concert solo opportunity.

Paul Ryan for VP

Excellent.  And that's not snark.  It's damn good.  It's better than good.  It brings the economic fighter that Obama fears most into the fight, and I bet that as much as the Left is going to bring Mediscare into the fray, Ryan's been fighting back for a while on that and knows how to counter-punch.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Gettin' Ripped Off edition

Everyone forty fifty or younger needs to be so pissed off about Social Security that their rage can be felt as actual heat in Washington D.C.

But I didn’t get a vote on Soshe Security. It was fait accompli — despite the clear intention in the framework of our government that there be no permanent program, that every thing be reconsidered every two years, with gridlock being the order of the day. I was not represented when it was decided that I would be robbed at gunpoint of fifteen percent of my productivity for life to pay for someone else’s woefully inadequate retirement pittance.
Emphasis mine.

!!!!

Every time I look at the news

It keeps getting worse.  Every time I think that Comrade Obama can't sink any lower, in both his morals, his ethics and his actions, I get proven wrong.

This is getting depressing.  Because as far as I can tell, the vast majority of America is still falling for it.  How fucking dumb can my country be?

California

I want to go put dish soap all over his windshield.  The jackass.  Cali has pretty much been what I've expected, with a few pleasant surprises.  We'll see what the next few days bring.

House hunting

The Ragin' Mrs. and I have been looking for a place to rent.  Needless to say, we're dealing with a little culture shock right now.  I thought maybe we would get a shoe box on a postage stamp.  Not even close.  We're getting half a shoe box on a patch of ground that could charitably be called a yard.

Coming from living in our own house to trying to find a way to fit our stuff into a broom closet?  This is housing hell.  And the people looking to buy my house are claiming that my bedrooms are too small?  They've never been to LA!

The next few years are going to suck ass.

What was planned for

Ace has a link up to this article, discussing the US military's supply of Purple Heart medals.  As you know the Purple Heart is awarded to servicemembers who were injured in combat.  The US military was anticipating so many casualties from the planned invasion of Japan that when Japan surrendered after we dropped the second bomb on Nagasaki, the inventory of Purple Heart medals lasted us until the year 2000.

Half a million Purple Hearts.  And that's after loss, pilferage, and waste.  Over a million and a half Purple Heart medals were produced for the war effort.

FYI, today is the 67th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima.  So when people talk about how horrible that bombing was, just remember that the US military was preparing for millions of dead Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen.  The bomb changed that.  I'm rather glad my Grandfather came home alive, rather than leaving my father an orphan.

Bill Whittle has one of the best summations of why we had to drop the bomb.  It's 15 minutes, but you need to watch it to understand why the decision was made.

So, Los Angeles....

The 405, more specifically.

Yay.  I haven't driven in traffic like that since I left Puerto Rico.  I'm going to spend the next three years going insane.

Sunday, August 05, 2012

Port Angeles to Redding today

And I should hit my final destination tomorrow afternoon, and report in on Monday morning.

We've been doing some driving.

Saddams WMD's that didn't exist now being destroyed

With help from the Brits.  Just remember this when another lying Democrat (redundancy alert) tries to claim that BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH LIED!

Nearing the end

Vacation is almost done.  This is a badness thing.  But I'm doing my best to enjoy it as much as possible.

So, Romney pissed off some dipshit in Britain

When he made some remarks about the preparations for the Olympic Games in London.

Um....  and?

As my father reminded me this morning, Romney is the one person talking about running the Olympics who has actually successfully ran an Olympic Games in this century.  So everybody else who is all butt-hurt about what Romney said might just want to shut their fucking whore mouths and listen to what he's saying.

Fucking wankers.

Depression

Read this VDH essay on California.  And then try to guess what state Ragin' Dave is being moved to, and why Ragin' Dave has a strong urge to drive his car off of a very tall cliff before his report date.

New Alternatives

In the local paper today, there was an article about a STEM academy being opened up in Northern Idaho.  STEM, for those who don't know, stands for Science, Technology, Electronics and Mathematics.  In short, it's a school designed to teach the hard sciences that aren't being taught in the Publik Skool Sistim.  And it's a charter school, so it doesn't fall under the school administration in this area.  Much to the STEM Academy's benefit.

I have to wonder; just what would my life have looked like if I had been given the chance to go to a STEM academy instead of being tortured with four years of hell courtesy of the government-run schools?

More coffee please

I'm currently sitting at a coffee shop in downtown Cd'A, relaxing and checking my email.  No internets out at the Ragin' parents house, so any posting I do will be when I make it into town with my computer.  And in case you hadn't noticed, that's not happening all that often these days.

Hey.  I'm on vacation.  Deal with it.

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Half-way there

I'm sitting at the Kootenai Coffee Shop, relaxing and checking email.  The Ragin' Mrs. and I are staying in our hometown for a while before continuing on to the second half of our great trek across America.  Internet connection is whenever we can get to a place with WiFi, so don't expect much out of me in terms of blogging.

In the mean time, I'm going to be smoking cigars, relaxing, enjoying my family, drinking good beer, and generally trying to have as little stress in my life as possible until I have to report in to my new duty station.

Sadness

Turning off the lights to your house for the last time as you drive off is one of the saddest things I've ever done.

Things you miss when you're gone

I knew Eternity Road had gone Tango Uniform.  But the esteemable Francis Porretto blogs on at Liberty's Torch!  Maybe one day I'll keep up with blog happenings, but that would require me to do a heck less work, and that's not going to happen any time soon.

Nice.... erm.... uh....

I can't even use Mark Alger's preferred comment to respond to this pile of crap from an over-tanned bleach blond bimbo.  Not only are those over-inflated silicone sacks NOT nice, but she's only "attractive" if you're into plastic-surgeon stretched skin and and a look that says she could be outwitted by a wet sack of catshit.  So she's perfect for California, but for any place that values a little common sense?  Not so much.

But still, since there's really nothing that can be said to Ms. O'Day that she could learn from (being that she's probably incapable of learning much at all) it's better than nothing:  Nice tits.

I just threw up

And not like "a little bit in my mouth", I'm talking I chundered like a snowblower and re-painted the living room walls.  Linda Blair just looked at me and said "Dude, you've got a problem!"

Click on that link only if you've got a stomach of steel.

Quote of the Day, Bitin' you in the jack-ass edition

"And that, dear kiddies, is why choosing politicians who can manage their own lives is important."

 !!!

In this country, politicians are supposed to represent you to the country and to the world.  And I never wanted to be represented by a moronic coke-head who did nothing but chase pussy.  The Democrats wanted that, and that says more about them than I could ever hope to say.

That about sums it up

!!!

The movers come today.  I'm going to be busy.

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Just got back

...from an event.  I'm tired, dirty, sweaty and smelly.  And that's the good part.  I'll see you all later.

The coming debt bomb

Go read this if you're under the age of forty.  Do it now.  Hell, read it if you're over forty just to appreciate how much you're going to get screwed.

Nowadays, the feds are borrowing something like 40 cents of every dollar they're spending. That bill is going to come due eventually and when it does, the people who spent it will be long dead. And so will the economy, suffering from a "debt hangover" that all the Advil in the world won't help. We're getting perilously close to the debt-to-GDP ratios that economists Carmen M. Reinhart, Vincent R. Reinhart, and Kenneth Rogoff say will significantly retard economic growth for an average of 23 years.

It should go without saying that it doesn't have to be this way. And don't buy into the idea that the way things are is just part of the circle of life. You're the mark here, the chump who's believing in Bernie Madoff even after the grift has been revealed. There's not going to be a bigger idiot to come along and keep the pyramid scheme alive. You can tell yourself that this is all part of living in a society, that's it for the common good, that there's simply no way a class of people with only 45 times the amount of household income as you do can get by without you sacrificing so much. But you're kidding yourself, kiddo.
I think the 60's, and the socialist hippy class that the 60's produced, is the time where the cancer of progressivism metastasized into it's lethal form.  And we're in the late stages now.

And another brick comes tumbling down

83% of doctors are looking at hanging it up rather than deal with Obamacare.  And while I doubt all of them will retire, a huge number will.

But remember, Obamacare gives everyone access to health insurance coverage, right?  I'm sure that you'll be SO HAPPY having health insurance even though you can't find a doctor to take care of you.

Packing

This sucks.

Killing the Golden Goose yet again

And this is why politicians need to be regularly beaten with nail studded baseball bats.

On Friday, President Barack Obama is expected to sign into law a federal highway bill with a section that redefines tobacco manufacturers to include any business with a roll-your-own cigarette machine and taxes those products at the same rate as packaged smokes.

A FEDERAL HIGHWAY BILL.  That REDEFINES PRIVATE BUSINESS.  So that the government can get MORE TAXES.

Fuck them all.  We need more tar and feathers.  And I don't even smoke cigarettes, but this is just another example of why the government needs to be pruned back to the bare roots.

!!!

When someone cheers for Obamacare

Please feel free to point out that since you now have to pay for their health care, meaning that you have to pay for the end result of their life choices, they have just given you the de facto right to tell them how to live.

If I'm paying for it, I will have a say in it.  And people ain't gonna like what I have to say, especially when I slap the cigarette out of their mouth.

Yeah.  I'm pissed.  So fuck 'em and feed 'em fish-heads.  If the people who voted for Obama were so weak, miserable and pathetic that they wanted nanny government to tell them what to do, I'm gonna give 'em what they want GOOD AND HARD.

2000

So while I was over at And Now It's All This, I was given a little wake-up call.

US military deaths passed the 2000 mark in June.

Stop and think about that.  We heard about American deaths every single day under President Bush.  But when the Marxist Messiah increases the death toll?  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.  Zero.  The media doesn't want you to know about it.

LOOK AT THAT GRAPH.  Click to open it up in full size.  Look at the numbers starting in April 2009.  Up, up, up, up.  The average number of military personnel killed under the rules set by Obama as Commander in Chief have soared.  Not only did Obama surrender in Iraq, but his policies and rules have gotten more people killed faster than that evil warmonger Bush.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IF YOU LOVE THIS COUNTRY AND IT'S MILITARY, GET OBAMA OUT OF OFFICE!

He forgot the flag-waving

And the horn that blares out "Dixie Land".

Several commenters mistook my use of the microwave as the way all Americans heat water and clucked their tongues in disapproval. I’m happy to report to any of those who’ve returned to the site that I’m quite atypical in this regard. The standard American way to heat water is to take a pot of water out to our pickup truck, open the hood (what the Brits call a “spanner”), and lock the pot onto the engine block using a set of latches readily available at any Wal-Mart. Then we drive around at high speed, reciting the Gospels and firing our shotguns out the window. After reading the Gospel of John for three minutes and sixteen seconds, the water is ready. I hope this puts to rest any confusion.

That's friggin' funny right there.

Quote of the Day, Individual Rights edition

I do not believe that there can be a truly compelling public interest which morally requires the infringement on the rights of a single individual. I assert that the claim is risible and founded in an abysmal (dare I say, deliberate) misunderstanding of individual rights.

!!!

The day you have to infringe on my Rights in the name of your "Public Interest" is the day your public interest turns into tyranny.  And I have both a right and an obligation to resist your tyranny.

Smoked

The brisket came out good.  The chicken came out even better.  The Gin and Tonic came out perfect.

Saturday, July 07, 2012

Smokin'

Firing up the grill as we speak.  Gonna put a brisket on to smoke for about eight hours or so.  Pecan wood for flavor.  I'll let you know how to went.

Yeowch

The people who watch the media fumble for ways to make their Marxist Messiah look good are pointing out the sheer hypocrisy of the gatekeepers:

Beyond the virulent case of amnesia that’s spread through newsrooms throughout America, there’s also the cognitive dissonance of defending a president who wants to have his hand in every facet of the economy in mid 20th century Soviet
John Kenneth Galbraith-style, and yet must now be described by the MSM as concurrently too weak to do anything about the same economy he desires complete control over.

But in my lifetime, the media has always had a double standard for how they treat Republicans vs. Democrats.

Adding to the post below

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests. -- Patrick Henry

The Constitution is not neutral. It was designed to take the government off the backs of people. -- William O. Douglas

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. -- Abraham Lincoln

Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it. While it lies there, it needs no constitution, no law, no court to save it. -- Learned Hand

!!!

Just remember - quoting any of the people above will make you a possible terrorist in the eyes of the Obama administration.

From Drumwaster's Comment:

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence. -- Charles A. Beard

Yep.  The "progressive" side of my family thinks that I'm a lunatic, simply because I object to being taxed even more to spend on an ever increasing government.

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

Sweet!

The government says I'm a terrorist!

The report takes its definitions from a 2011 study entitled Profiles of Perpetrators of Terrorism, produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, in which the following characteristics are used to identify terrorists.
- Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;
- Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;
- People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);
- Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;
- Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;
- People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty.”

I can't think of anything better, on this 4th of July, Independence Day, to have the current group of Communist cock-goblins call me a terrorist.  Because if the Dictator-wanna-be Marxists think I'm a terrorist, then that means that I'm doing things right.

!!!

The 4th

Stay safe, hug your families, eat some hot-dogs, and have a great 4th of July.

Forest fires

Saw a post about "Incinerating America" on Instapundit:

From DDT, to nuclear power, to fossil-fuel development, to genetically improved crops, the green movement has used the pretext of nonexistent or grossly exaggerated environmental hazards to block enterprises that would be of enormous benefit to people. However, when faced with a real and catastrophic threat to the wild they have taken the other side — precisely because allowing the necessary protective measures would not constrain human liberty, but expand it, in however limited a way, and this would undermine the central purpose of the “environmentalist” exercise.

To those seeking environmental pretexts for enhanced control over society, all changes to nature effected by humans, no matter how beneficial, must be portrayed as criminal. Thus global warming and carbon dioxide emissions are denounced, despite the fact that they lengthen the growing season, increase rainfall, and accelerate plant growth. Thus no actions may be taken to save the forests.

By the light of a burning wildness the truth may be perceived. The purpose of the green prosecution is not to protect nature, but to put shackles on humankind.

Which reminded me of this post by Rivrdog:

There is no better example of the destructive nature of radical environmentalism than these fires. The "lock it up and keep everyone out" policy of the radical enviro-whackos has done three things that specifically prohibit fighting these fires on the ground, where all fires must eventually be controlled.
First, a healthy forest has immature trees thinned down to the proper ratio of trees per acreage, and that is easy enough to do. Second, a healthy forest has forest roads cut into it, but the enviro-whackos are anti-road, and where they have sway, the roads are not kept up if there were any, and never built if there weren't any. Sometimes, roads are deliberately removed under these damaging policies. Third, dangerous insect infestations in the trees are combated in a healthy forest, because bugs like bark beetles kill trees, and make perfect tinder to keep a fire going.

Under present policy, the forests that are set aside as "Wilderness" are nothing more than forest conflagrations waiting to happen. When these conflagrations happen, the first impulse of the Government is to not fight them. "Let it burn, it's more natural that way" has become the enviro-whacko cry heard with the start of every fire.

One issue is ALWAYS lied about by the enviros. They say that using the forests as timber supply is "raping" the forests, but the reverse is true: designating wilderness is raping the forests, because they are then doomed to death by fire.

Which made me remember one of the first big essays that I ever wrote:

So what's the point of all of this?  We can no longer allow the eco-movement to continue dictating how our forests are used.  We are creating a mess of our national forests, and simply moving the logging out of country.  We need sane forest management, not extremist policy.  We need to take back the land that environmentalists want to place out of reach.  Until we make our voices heard, our forests will continue going to waste.

And I just wondered:  What is it going to take to get our forests out of the hands of the eco-freaks and Marxist lunatics who are in control of environmental policy?  Because this has been going on a long time, and we're reaping the fruits of the hard-Left's policies right now.

Shitstorm

Made my opinion on Obamacare and the SCOTUS decision known on Facebook.

The shitstorm from the liberal wing of my family has been rather impressive.  I may just get disowned before all is said and done.

Beer and Cigars

Well, that's later tonight.  Today is a bit of cleaning and cooking.  But since I'm lazy busy, here's a grand idea courtesy of CalGuns and brought to you by RSN.

A Proposed Individual Mandate for the Second Amendment

Yes, I am perfectly serious. Yes, I think there is a chance to make this really happen. No, I’m not thrilled that the government can mandate participation in an economic activity but that is where we are right now.

A Proposed Individual Mandate for the Second Amendment.

A well regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state,

As the constitution clearly states it is within the realm of the government to ensure that our unorganized militia be we regulated (or provisioned.)

As such each able bodied person above the age of 18 is hereby mandated to purchase and keep a weapon suitable for service in the militia. The Dept. of Defense shall provide a listing of the basic type of such weapons that they currently issue to our servicemen. Any individually serviced weapon, not counting sidearms and explosives shall satisfy this mandate.

As most such weapons are regulated by the National Firearms Act and many may not currently be legally acquired by the Hughes Amendment, any such weapon shall receive a tax stamp at no cost and the Hughes Amendment is hereby repealed.

Other weapons suitable for militia service shall also be granted tax stamps at zero cost. These would include but not be limited to grenades, suppressors, appropriate sidearms, and certain other explosive material.

The purchase of one mandate qualifying militia weapon per person shall be tax deductible once every ten years. As the state must also assure that the militia is well trained any ammunition purchases up to $1000 per year shall also be tax deductible.

If anyone over the age of 18 chooses to opt out of this mandate there shall be assessed a penalty equal to the average MSRP of one standard issue infantry long arm per year that they choose to not meet this mandate.

Let's go for it.  God-Damned communists need to understand just what they've done, and how we're going to use every chance we have to ram their mistakes down their fucking throats.

The SCOTUS Ruling on Obamacare

Yes, I've read it.  I still don't know if we just got screwed even worse, or if the seeds to Obamacare's destruction were just sowed.

Look, we were fucked the moment that piece of shit bill was shoved down our throats by the Democrat dictators.  There's a reason I call the Democrat Party the American Communist Party.  Nancy Pelosi is just about as anti-American as you can get.  I'd say she represents San Francisco perfectly.

Best line from Judge Roberts (and I'm paraphrasing):  The Courts do not exist to protect Americans from the results of their political choices.

So now the question is how we go about restoring freedom?  Can we?  Is the ship going down while we all play "Nearer My God To Thee"?

Iowahawk on Twitter:  The last time Democrats gloated this hard after a health care victory, they lost 60 House seats.  Let's see what it costs them this time around.

The Left in headlines

Getting ready to throw a temper tantrum, like a three year old screwing up his face and taking a breath.

My "Progressive" friends on Facebook are already throwing more shit against a wall and seeing what sticks.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Summing it up edition

Via TSM:

The left takes its vision seriously -- more seriously than it takes the rights of other people. They want to be our shepherds. But that requires us to be sheep.

That last sentence hits it, doesn't it?  In order for the Left to be Masters, they must first turn everyone else into slaves.

Toilet reading material

Some guys have Playboy and other skin flicks stashed away in their bathroom, hidden amongst the Time and Newsweek and People magazines.  Between my copies of Forbes and National Review, I have cigar catalogs.  "Oh my, look at those bellicosos!  What a figurado!"

It might make me a bit weird, but I think that the Ragin' Mrs. prefers it my way.

Muslim Brotherhood takeover in Egypt

Thanks Barry, you cretinous piece of surrendermonkey shit!

How many Middle Eastern countries have been taken over by Islamic fundamentalists under Barack Obama's watch now?  Let's see -

Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, and Syria is killing civilians by the score.  Hey, heck of a job there, Barry, you gutless fucking shitheel!  Way to deploy that "smart" diplomacy, you worthless cocked-up asshat!  Hey, I have an idea?  WHY DON'T YOU GO PLAY ANOTHER ROUND OF GOLF!!!!  What a clueless, brainless, classless, idiotic, moronic, worthless, narcissistic, ego-maniacal clusterfuck!

You want to know why I think America is fucking finished?  Because America voted Barry the anti-American Marxist Messiah into office.  And if they'll do that, then this country is probably ready to be forked.

More please

The Catholic Church in America pushes back.

Good.  If the government can dictate to the Catholic Church what kind of morals or doctrine they're allowed to follow, then every other religion is just as screwed.  And I really do pray that the nuns who helped push through Obamacare see just how wrong and off base they were.

I don't know who Manolo is

But while Manolo might love the shoes, Manolo doesn't know a damned thing about being comfortable.

Dear Manolo,

Not only are Utilikils comfortable, but when worn properly, they look damn good.  So go back to making snide remarks about shoes, and leave the rest of the clothing world to someone else.

Yours Truly,

Ragin' Dave

Well, BOO FREAKIN' HOO!

Some of the president's most ardent entertainment industry supporters quietly tell The Hollywood Reporter that while they realize he needs to deploy all of his weapons to compete with deep-pocketed Republican super PACs, they fear the increasing reliance on stars and celebrity contests could backfire with swing voters and mobilize the right.

(.....)

"After he took office, he ignored everyone here," gripes one L.A. donor, "and now we feel like we're being used."

Um...  you ARE being used, you dumb fucking shit!  You're being used like the cheap whore that you are, and then Obama is wiping his dick across your face to clean it off, and you're whimpering and begging for some more!  "Thank You Sir, may I have another!"

There's a reason I don't go watch movies in the theater very often.  And one of the main reasons is that I refuse to support these anti-American fuckheads or put money in their pockets.

Via Ace.

Yet another reason the EPA needs to be abolished

They fine gasoline producers for NOT adding an ethanol blend that doesn't exist.

And we end up paying the price.

Bill Whittle on Fast and Furious

The more I hear about Obama, Holder and his illegal gun running scheme, the more I want to heat up the tar and buy the feathers.

Obama and Holder are guilty as hell

Now that the Imperial King Obama and his flunky Eric Holder have claimed "Executive Privilege" to withhold documents pertaining to Fast and Furious from Congress, can we finally get around to putting people in jail for the murder of Brian Terry?  I mean, The Marxist Messiah Obama claimed that he found out about Fast and Furious "on the news", but now he's claiming executive privilege to keep documents out of the hands of investigators, which means that he has to be INVOLVED in the creating, processing or approval of those documents.

Once again, he's a gutless fucking liar, a worthless piece of shit who's presence befouls the Oval Office and brings the office of the Presidency lower for each day he infects the White House.

Bottled

Five gallons of a Pomegranate Melomel, and three gallons of an Apple Cyser.  Primed the cyser real well, and I'm going to let it sit in the warmer room until it's good and carbonated.  Should be ready in about two weeks.

Chill, open, serve.

When the country goes bye-bye, I'll be able to make booze.  Tell me THAT isn't a skill that will be in high demand!

Practice a skill

There's so much wrong with Obama the anti-American fucked Constitution-shredder that I don't know where to begin.

So I'm going to go practice a skill that I can use in bartering for goods when the entire system collapses, and I finally get to shoot the anti-American fuckheads who will inevitably be running around screeching about "Tyranny" or "BUSHITLER CHIMPYMCHITLERBURTON!" or something like that.

France commits economic suicide.

All socialist.  More taxes and more spending, on an economy that can't provide the level of spending they're attempting now.

France now joins the list of countries who are destined for collapse sooner rather than later.  And when Europe gets flushed down the shitter, I don't even want to guess what's going to happen over here.

Rodger Clemens found not guilty

On all counts.

I really don't give a shit.  Do I think he did steroids?  Yes.  Just like Barry Bonds.

But that doesn't piss me off nearly as much as the Federal Government wasting their time and MY TAX DOLLARS to attempt to prosecute a baseball player.  THAT is a travesty.

Quote of the Day, Money is Power (and vice versa) edition

Those who constantly complain about the influence of money in politics have to wrap their heads around this: people will spend money to advance, or to protect, their own interests. If the government has the power to promote one interest over another, or to destroy one interest in favor of another…

…which, in case we’re not clear, our government does…

…then people will spend money to influence their government. It’s sense.

Want to get the money out of politics? Reduce the power of government. Reduce people’s interest in influencing the government. Politics will become less important, and the money will stop flowing.

From the Troglopundit, who I've been told isn't nearly as hairy as his name makes him seem.

For what it's worth

I saw this bad boy while it was at a rest-stop in Tennessee.  They had the rest-stop completely closed, with barricades in front of the in-ramp, and as I drove past it I could see this thing sitting there, with a while bunch of trucks around it.

It has the same basic shape as the Stealth Bomber, and it was wrapped up in plastic so that you couldn't see anything specific.  I figured it was either a drone, or a new prototype of plane for the Air Force.

Is it wrong that I didn't really give a shit about it?  I just wanted to get home after nearly two months of being away.

Watched a video of Eric Holder last night

And it made me want to disinfect everything in the immediate area.  That dude is SLIMY.

The Left in one interview

You want to see what people in Wisconsin have been subjected to for the past year and a half?  Listen to Mike scream in this interview.  Thanks, Liberals.

I don't want to hear ONE GOD-DAMNED WORD about civility from a fucking liberal.  The fucking hypocrites.

Monday, June 11, 2012

Thinks you might not know

I actually have liberal friends.

We don't discuss politics, and we have mutual interests outside political items, but we're on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to conservative/liberal.  Actually, they're not liberal, they're PROGRESSIVE.

And for the past year and a half, it's been "RECALL WALKER" and "TAX THE RICH" and every other progressive mantra that can be heard here in Wisconsin.  Facebook?  Twenty posts a day, fifteen about how evil Scott Walker is.

Me, I don't even bother to talk to them about it.  What would be the point?  They're so closed-minded on the topic that trying to explain facts to them would just piss them off.  The last time I spoke with them politically was after Obamacare came out, and I asked them what right they had to take my money, or my dad's money, or my boss' money and pay for a stranger's health care?  "Health care is a RIGHT!" they said.  And I responded "How can it be a right when someone else has to pay for it?  If we're going to follow that logic, then why don't I have a right to take your money and give it to a Catholic orphanage?  Those children NEED that money!"

Did I mention that they're pagan?  Yeah.  That didn't go over well.

Anyways, it all boils down to this:  I have been silently enjoying every single moment of anguish coming out of the Left here in Wisconsin.  Drinking it like a fine wine, I have.  Yep.  When I saw the video of the snot-nosed pussy crying about how Democracy died?  I laughed, and I laughed, and I hit "replay" about ten times so I could laugh again.  Oh, and by the way, he's not alone in how he feels.  I've heard everything from "WALKER CHEATED!" (with no explanation of how that happened) to "WE MUST DEFEAT THE FORCES OF FASCISM!" (with no explanation of how successive elective losses in open, fair elections is fascist).

I have reveled in the sweet, sweet sorrow that is the progressive Left in Wisconsin.  But now it's time to get back to work.  We didn't win by sitting on our asses.  And we can't afford to sit on our asses now.  I won't be here to see it, but I want Romney to win Wisconsin just to hear the shrieks of agony from the Left in this state.  Trust me.  I'll hear it.  I'll see it.  It needs to happen.

Home

After a long absence.  I'm off to enjoy the day with the Ragin' Mrs. and a motorcycle.  See you later.

Saturday, June 09, 2012

Just.... ouch

I don't know if Eric Holder is just that fucking dumb, or if he's so out of touch that he doesn't even know how a Federal Courthouse works for Joe Schmoe.  But in any case, I think that it's just another bit of proof that Eric Holder is nothing but a political flunky put into his position to do the political bidding of Barky Obama.  Holder sure as shit hasn't done anything worthwhile as AG.

In fact, I think a case could be made that Eric Holder has done the exact opposite of worthwhile as AG, from killing an investigation into voter fraud when he first got there, to stopping voter ID laws that would prevent vote fraud, to the big banana:  Fast and Furious.

The fact that Eric Holder isn't in jail yet for Fast and Furious makes me want to puke.

Road Warrior

Starting a 1200 mile trip tomorrow.  Packing tonight.  It's been one hell of an experience down here, and I'll be happy to leave.  Especially before July, when South Carolina approaches the relative heat and humidity of Hades.

Wisconsin recall

This is killing me - I want to know what happens, dammit!  And I want to know now!

Mainly because I need to know if I'll actually be happy to leave the state, or if I get to crush the Commie Statist's faces down deeper into the pit of despair.

UPDATE:  HAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!
