Hey! You!

Wanna be a hero?

Shamelssly stolen from Mrs. du Toit. Be warned, it's a time waster.

The Definitive John Kerry

If you can't watch this, read it!
John Kerry on Iraq
Come back when you get done.

Welcome back. Our nation's Leaders are its source of guidance and direction. Do we want leaders who recognize threats and act decisively to confront them, or do we want those who stick their fingers to the political winds before deciding whether or not to act in response to threats we face?

One is left to wonder whether Kerry would stay the course or cut and run. What type of respect does that show for those who have placed their lives on the line in response to the decisions of our leaders? Is their effort all for not? It's hard to tell when the want-to-be CIC can't even articulate whether or not he values their sacrafices to date. Does Kerry think liberating Iraq from Saddam Hussein was the right thing to do? I wouldn't believe him now no matter what he said. He is guilty, as is evident by HIS OWN WORDS (available in transcript and video footage at the link provided), of literally trying to have it both ways. One can not afford those statements the excuse of nuance.

What's on display in the link above is the blustering of an indecisive, power hungry partisan, Anti-War Protestor Democrat that is currently running for President of The United States. John Kerry is a not a leader. He is an opportunist and a liar. See ya in November, Donks!

Well GOLLY GEE GOSH!

How ever could I insist that the fat sack of shit known as Michael Moore is anti-American?

Hmmmmmmmmm.....

"If someone did this [9/11] to get back at Bush, then they did so by killing thousands of people who DID NOT VOTE for him! Boston, New York, D.C., and the planes' destination of California -- these were places that voted AGAINST Bush!" -- Michael Moore On 9/12/2001

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win."

"I would like to apologize for referring to George W. Bush as a 'deserter.' What I meant to say is that George W. Bush is a deserter, an election thief, a drunk driver, a WMD liar, and a functional illiterate. And he poops his pants"

"(Americans) are possibly the dumbest people on the planet ... in thrall to conniving, thieving, smug pr*cks. We Americans suffer from an enforced ignorance. We don’t know about anything that’s happening outside our country. Our stupidity is embarrassing.”

"On his North American tour in support of Dude, Where’s My Country, Moore substituted Canadians for Britons, telling audiences that the “dumbest Canadian” in attendance could surely outwit 'the smartest American.'"

"Should such an ignorant people (Americans) lead the world?"

"There's a gullible side to the American people. They can be easily misled. Religion is the best device used to mislead them."

"You know in my town the small businesses that everyone wanted to protect? They were the people that supported all the right-wing groups. They were the Republicans in the town, they were in the Kiwanas, the Chamber of Commerce - people that kept the town all white. The small hardware salesman, the small clothing store salespersons, Jesse the Barber who signed his name three different times on three different petitions to recall me from the school board. F*ck all these small businesses - f*ck 'em all! Bring in the chains. The small businesspeople are the rednecks that run the town and suppress the people. F*ck 'em all. That's how I feel

Gee, I dunno......

Yeah, I'm in a foul mood today. Living in Seattle will do that to you.

Oh. My. GOD!

I cannot believe that an elected offical can be so fucking worthless!

"I'd like to believe that there's enough common sense left in the world that disputes don't have to degenerate into a Showdown at the O.K. Corral. I'd like to believe that most women will choose to use basic common sense, such as traveling in large groups and only in well-lit, heavily populated areas, before resorting to violence on their own.”

Read that paragraph again. Do you hear that, ladies? Rather than being able to protect yourself, you should only travel in groups or in well lit areas. If you work or live in a bad part of town, I guess you're fucked. If you can't find a group of people to go to the store with you, I guess you're fucked. New Jersey Senate President Dick Codey doesn't want you to be able to defend yourself, you should just stay huddled in your house until the cops come to make the bad man stop!

WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT!

"It may just be that I've been a little preoccupied with the recent enactment of the (fiscal year) 2005 Budget, but I wasn't aware that, as the Second Amendment Sisters claim, society had gotten so bad that a woman's only hope to avoid violence is to carry around an Uzi and not be afraid to use it.

"That statement isn't exactly true, mind you, but gun advocacy groups, like the Second Amendment Sisters, would rather that the general population believe otherwise, because it's through misinformation and fear that their cause actually gains any footing. Regardless of the actual facts, they're willing to push a bleak world view where a woman's only chance of survival is to have a bigger gun than the next person.”

No Dick, they just need a gun. Any gun, any size. God made men, Sam Colt made them equal. I guess in Dick's world, women should just cower under the bed until someone comes to rescue them. I guess in Dick's world, it's better for criminals to roam the streets while law-abiding citizens must travel in groups. I guess in Dick's world, women are just weaklings who need a big strong policeman to protect them because they don't have the mental capacity to do it themselves.

What a fucking sack of shit. Dick the dick needs to be assaulted by a really big guy named "Bubbah" in a dark ally and anally raped until he passes out. And when he complains about it, we can tell him that he's shit out of luck, all the cops were watching over large groups of women who were walking to the store. Fuck him, fuck his useless victim-creating ideology, and fuck anything he ever came in contact with. This useless fucking parasite needs to be taken out back and shot, preferably by one of the Second Amendment Sisters. This fucking worthless cretin is part of the reason that crime spirals out of control. He would rather preside over a society of victims rather than allow women to defend themselves. He's a fucking scumball who isn't fit to use as fertilizer.

If any asshole tries to screw with MY girlfriend, I won't be getting a call from the cops, I'll be getting a call from a strong woman who will tell me "There's a guy to tried to rape me. He's leaking a lot of blood onto the floor. Should I call the city morgue?" My girlfriend doesn't have to travel in a group. My girlfriend doesn't have to be scared of a not-so-well lit area.

My girlfriend can defend herself, which is something this fucking asshole Dick Cobey has a problem with. Go tell MY girlfriend to only travel in groups or in well lit areas, you fucking prick!

I'll call the city morgue to pick up your useless corpse.

Thanks for the RCOB, Ravenwood.

Time to get Mad.

Kim du Toit brought this article, written by a Marine Colonel to my attention. Take a gander at it. I can't pull any quotes out and let you nibble, you have to digest the whole thing.

And then come back here and take a breath.

As good as President Bush has been to our military, I believe that he's screwed up in a big way by not enlarging the size of our active duty forces. I think we should have at least two more Army divisions on active duty, to cover our obligations without burning out the troops. Our Air Force needs new planes, even if their just copies of our older models. The B-52's have been flying since the Korean War, folks. Think about that. You can thank the good folks at Boeing for implimenting a safety and engineering standard that has allowed those planes to keep flying long after people thought they would be done. I'd like to see more Marines on active duty, so that the Marine Corps won't suffer a service-wide case of combat fatigue. The Marines are some of the toughest SOB's you'll ever run across, but they can only do so much.

Between Congress and the President, governmental spending has jumped, and yet only a small percentage of that jump went to the military. Tie in the fact that some weapons programs have been cut (not without good reason), and that percentage gets even smaller. For Pete's sake, Kim du Toit had to raise money to buy good scopes for our MILITARY snipers! Pay and benefits increases only go so far in retaining good troops, and when the military can't even get the equipment that it needs, we're not too far away from "really really bad shitstorm" type situations!

This isn't some sudden problem that jumped up in the past few years, either. This started under Bush Sr, and was ramped up during the Clinton Administration. Clinton closed more bases and handed out more pink slips to the military than any other president in modern history. To put it bluntly, Clinton gutted our military. While Bush has undone SOME of that damaged, he hasn't done nearly enough to bring us up to where we need to be.

And that's not the biggest problem. You want to know what really pisses me off? I don't think that Bush will ever bring the military up to where it needs to be. I don't think he'll ever have the cojones to cut public pork-barrel spending in order to send that money to the military. However, our only other option is even worse when it comes to military spending. John Fonda Kerry LOATHES the military, folks. He hates it with a burning passion. How do I know? Look at his record!

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system
He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down since 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F 117

It's all in the public voting record, folks. Open for anyone to see. Kerry has voted against the miliary equipment that we are now using on a regular basis. If John Fonda Kerry were president, our military would be nothing but men dressed in medievil armor waving swords! He also voted to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%. Do you really think this man cares about national security? Do you really think this man cares about military readiness? HELL NO! Kerry would be happy to see the US Military whither away like Canada's forces, to be replaced by some "international multilateral" force. He's proven it time and time again.

Gun rights are the same story. Bush? "I'll sign a new AWB if it comes across my desk" Scary shit, folks. At least we could petition our congresscritters to vote against extending the AWB. Kerry on the other hand has made damn sure that he voted against the 2nd Amendment time and time again. Kerry has missed well over three-quarters of the votes in the Senate this year, but by golly he was there to vote FOR the AWB extention! It's the same story time and time again. Bush may not be doing the best job, but compared to John Fonda Kerry, Bush might as well be the second coming of Theodore Roosevelt!

Is this what the election has boiled down to? Someone we're ambivilous about vs. someone who would toss America into a baby-blue blender and hit "frappe"?

Yeah, it's time to get mad.

P.S.A.

Women, please feel free to disregard this Public Service Announcement.

Men - Let's talk. There's this thing dangling between your legs. In medical terms it's called a "penis". Common vernacular is "wank, cock, dick, one-eyed trouser snake, willy, or heat-seeking moisture missle". It has two main functions. It seems that many people out there are only familiar with one of them, which would be sex. Fucking. Screwing. The Horizontal Mambo. Mattress dancing. Since we seem to be up to speed on that, let me just move straight to the other function, which would be liquid body waste disposal.

You see, thanks to the handy-dandy feature of actually having a protrusion with which to grasp, we men can aim the damn thing while we're taking a leak! This allows us to pee while standing up, which is commonly facilitated by urinals in men's restrooms. As far as I know, women's restrooms do not have urinals. Only the men do. However, this biological feature is completely useless IF YOU DON'T F**KING AIM!

So please, spread the news to all the people you know. Men can aim where they pee. It's true! You can try it out today! Because every time I walk into a public restroom and it looks like the trolls have been having a pee-pee fight, I want to puke. I'm starting to look for trees that appear relatively clean, because the sight and smell of a men's urinal makes me gag! We can aim the damn things, but it does us no good if we just let it hang out and spray all over the area! I feel like I need to clean out rest area bathrooms with a pressure hose before I use them.

Be Clean. Aim your Stream. Please, do it for the children!

Kerry Emerges Ready To Identify With Regular Americans

Turaysuh sez:

"Democrats are putrid.

Oy!

I wrote to Andrew Sullivan today...

...but he hasn't written back. I ripped him I guess but as respectfully as possible because his is one of the first blogs I ever visited. Nonetheless, the guy has gone totally outer limits. John Hawkins say it well here.

Oh the Folly!

I was gonna pen my own chuckles at the ignominy of Jimmy Carter waxing critical about America's foreign affairs, but The Big Trunk has done so quite nicely.

How did John Edwards get so rich?

By suing doctors for causing cerebral palsy by not performing Caesarean Sections. There's just one problem with that .

Oy!

Arafat endorses John Kerry.

Good Old Hollywood Squares Material

Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course.

Q. Do female frogs croak?

Fine stuff from a once-great show. Paul Lynde is one of my favorites all time, as is Rose Marie.

Teresa Heinz Kerry Tells Pittsburgh Reporter To "Shove It"

Must see video: ThePittsburghChannel.com. It's not too dramatic, it just shows Teraysa Heinz saying some of today's political tone is "unAmerican", then denying it when asked for clarification by a reporter.

That is why this is my favorite paper:

If Ed Rendell fears it, it's good.

The reporter, Colin McNickle, blogs the convention here: Colin McNickle at the Democratic National Convention.

Unexpected Jabs At President Bush On TV

I've made posts of this kind before. They basically serve as a record of the influence that the Left has throughout all major media. I've just been watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. I've seen Republicans and President Bush jabbed there at least two other times. On a show called Mission Hill, the main character (while getting drunk) is confronted by an outspoken yet.......we'll say "zany" Republican at a party. While subtle, it is hardly a positive association or reflection on the party. At least we weren't....well.....allow me to continue. Peter Griffin on the show Family Guy went off on a "don't give up" rant citing several of the left's attacks against "George W. Bush" (that coupled with an episode that saw the family visit D.C. and meet a group of politicians that included The President and Algore leads me to guess that the season was produced a short time before the 2000 election), and I think I remember another epsidode with a snipe at Reagan the "actor" President. But tonight, as I watched Harvey Birdman, The Jetsons traveled back in time to sue the past for the (unmentioned cause *cough*global warming*cough*) flood that destroyed the future. Birdman rides with another character to work among cars puffing out black smoke as they ride past power plants doing the same and nuclear plants oozing green goo. Birdman asks how one person can have such an effect on the environment just as the Presidential limo passes and President Bush is seen riding in the back (window down). Why? What makes them do this? They obviously believe this shit, but what makes them shove it in our faces? You can't watch a cartoon show without hearing the beat of the donk drum.

Fresh Back From Vacation

I've just arrived back from a week at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Didn't do much there - just swam and fished and generally lazed around - reckon I got my fill of exhausting vacations when I was young and single and drinking.

Wanna see some pics?

Sure you do.

For using such bandwidth, I hereby submit an apology to the Dear Reader, whom I suspect is using DSL or cable anyway.

Peep:

The Chesapeake and Delaware (C&D) Canal Bridge

Could be that this doesn't deserve to be here first since this was shot on the way home (northbound) but en route to NC it was barely dawn and I was driving pre-coffee so two hands on the wheel was the order of the day. Also I opted for a digital camera for less than eight hundred bucks so low light focusing is lousy.

This bridge is on State Road 1 in Delaware. If you wish, you can read some about it here. A better bet for a tangential click appears below, in my opinion.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel

An unbelievable achievement in engineering, featuring 12 miles of low-level trestle, 2 one-mile-long tunnels, 2 bridges, 2 miles of causeway, 4 manmade islands and 5-1/2 miles of approach roads.

If you read the Facts & Figures, you can note that the same engineering firm designed what is now the northbound span in 1964 and the southbound span in 1999. I find that neat.

In the above shots, we are headed southbound.

Inside the Thimble Shoals Tunnel.

FYI: The Bridge-Tunnel is on Virginia State Road 13, between Cape Charles and Virginia Beach.

For whatever it is worth.

Good evening, all.

Greetings from Idaho

I'm typing this on a computer that doesn't seem to like Blogger's "create post" window, so we'll see how it goes.

It was hot as hell when the girlfriend and I drove through central Washington. Probably in the 100's. All I know is that we had the windows down in the truck, and even at 70+mph, the wind was still HOT. N. Idaho is a bit cooler, but it's also at a higher elevation.

By the way, the sheer amount of stress that melted off of me as soon as I crossed the state line is unbelieveable. If I could have taken my blood pressure, I bet it would have been at least 20 points lower. When I finally move to Idaho, I'm going to have to change my cyber-name to something like "Slightly Aggrivated Dave", or "Kinda Grumpy Dave", because the rage just isn't quite there when I'm not in Seattle. Go figure.

I spent some more time on my property, looking at where we're going to build, and where we need to clear away brush to allow new tree growth. The more time I spend there, the more I love it. There was a chance I was going to sell the land if the price was right, but I think that will be where I build my house. That is, unless some idiot puts up a development too close for comfort. I need plenty of space between me and the nearest neighbor.

The place I'm staying right now is out in the middle of the country. It's so quiet that if you stand outside and just listen, you can hear your heartbeat. Last night I was enjoying a nightcap outside, and I could hear coyotes yipping and howling a fair distance away. The sound was echoing down the valley, and it sent chills down my spine. I just stood outside, sipping a beer, and listening to them howl. Early this morning I listened to owls hooting in the grey early light. This place is medicine for the soul.

And the night sky..... No wonder we can't get kids interested in astronomy anymore. The city lights drown out the sky. I can see a few of the major stars from my house in Seattle. Out here you can see ALL of them, not just Cirrus Major, or the belt of Orion. You see everything. The major stars are swimming in an ocean of other stars, too many of them to count. If more kids lived in the country, they would understand just how magnificent the night sky truly is. I'll have to see if I can hold the shutter on my camera open long enough to capture the true sight of it.

I'll be back in Seattle Sunday evening. I figure that by the time I've gone through traffic and dealt with the people from that area, I'll be back to my old pissed off self. I'll see you then.

Sandy Berger Obstructed Plans To Get Bin Laden

Guess what those national archive documents Sandy stole contained! That's right
....according to the commission report, Mr. Berger was presented with plans to take action against the threat of Al Qaeda four separate times — Spring 1998, June 1999, December 1999, and August 2000. Each time, Mr. Berger was an obstacle to action. Had he been a little less reluctant to act, a little more open to taking pre-emptive action, maybe the 2,973 killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks would be alive today.

Sandy Berger - Clinton's National Security Advisor, Thief, Obstructionist concerned with covering his own ass (at which he failed), and a source of foreign policy advice for the Kerry Campaign. See you in November, Donks!

Reading the 9/11 Commission's Report

I highly suggest that every American takes the time to do the same.  I'm only 54 pages into it (out of 585).  The 9/11 hijackers took advantage of our every weakness (especially in the FAA) that day.  The men and women that found themselves responsible for determining exactly what was going on did the absolute best job they could.  What transpired was unprecedented.  With IIRC 15 minutes warning, NORAD scrambled jets from Otis in response to 1 missing aircraft, but were several minutes too late to intercept.  There was no warning for the other three planes!  The terrorists turned off the planes' identification signal (relied upon in order to track specific aircraft).  When an aircraft passes into and out of an FAA control center's air space, responibility for locating that aircraft also switches hands.  They had no idea of the planes' destination until it was too late.  Tower 1 impact -8:46. Tower 2 impact 9:03.  I found it shocking that NORAD had only 2 fighters per station for emergency response and 7 alert sites in the United States.     They trained to intercept hijakcers using our jets to disperse WMD, but not for them turning them into human filled missiles.

More later.

Busy as Hell

And so broke I can't pay attention.  Seriously, I'm down to the "let's roll our pennies and see how much we have" stage.  I haven't been to the range in a month, and my alcohol consumption has dropped to zero.  Luxuries are the first things to get cut.  Next month, I may be cutting out some other things that aren't so luxurious.

In any case, I'm going to be away from the computer for the next four days, so don't expect any posts from me.  It's all part of my plan to get out of this shitty town.  Seattle, the god-forsaken hellhole I call home.

Thoughts on Sandy Berger

When I was in the military, I held a Secret security clearance.  If I had "inadvertently" stuffed classified documents down my pants and took them home, I would still be incarcerated at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, breaking big rocks into little rocks.  The motives would not have mattered.

Yet here we have the former NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR, who by all logic should not only know the rules but be familiar with the punishments involved in breaking them, "inadvertently" stuffing classified material down his PANTS!!!!  And not just Secret documents, we're talking about the highest level of security classification there is!  IN HIS FUCKING PANTS!

Let the dumb fuck rot in jail for the rest of his life.  You do not "inadvertently" stuff top secret documents down your pants.  You don't "accidentally" stuff top secret papers in your jacket.  That's the biggest line of bullshit I've seen in a while.

The worst part is this:  If this is Berger's normal mode of operation, i.e. being such a worthless "sloppy" dumb fuck that he shoves highly classified documents down his pants, then we know what National Security was like while he was in the NSA position.

National Security fell right out of his pants and into the toilet.

In The News

So I'm checking out the news today, and there are a few stories that caught my eye. I figured I'd share them with you.

First, the Democrats are likely to stall another judicial nominee. Who didn't see this coming? Seriously, Bush could put Michael Moore of for a seat on some bench, and the Democrats would block him, just because he was Bush's choice. Ignore all the empty platitudes coming from the Donks, because they don't mean jack shit. They're not pro-American, they're anti-Bush. It's been the same story since January of 2001.

Second, Fox News did a piece on ProtestWarrior, the conservative group who protests the protesters. Personally, I'm loving it. They show the ProtestWarriors asking the question "So, those Iraqis who were freed from Saddam's torture chambers and prisons, do you think they'd be happy if you were calling the shots?" The protester's response? "You don't know BLEEP about the situation in Iraq!"

Anything that highlights the complete lunacy and idiocy of the Left is fine and dandy with me. ProtestWarrior has been doing it for a while now. The funniest part of the piece? It seems that the protesters have been trying to censor ProtestWarrior, and attempting to prevent ProtestWarrior from marching.

Free Speech. In the Left's eyes, it's only OK when they agree with you. If you say something they don't like, they'll do everything they can to stop you from saying it.

And last but not least, yet another Clinton Administration official has been caught with his pants down.

Former President Clinton's national security adviser is under criminal investigation for taking highly classified terrorism documents that should have been turned over to the independent commission probing the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, FOX News has confirmed.

Sandy Berger is under scrutiny by the Justice Department (search) following the disappearance of documents he was reviewing at the National Archives.

Berger's home and office were searched earlier this year by FBI agents armed with warrants after the former Clinton adviser voluntarily returned some sensitive documents to the National Archives and admitted he also removed handwritten notes he had made while reviewing the sensitive documents.

When I was an MP, I held a "Secret" security clearance. If I had taken any sensitive documents home, I'd be in Ft. Leavenworth right now, breaking big rocks into little rocks. This slimy fuckstick is still breathing free air. Do you see the problem here? Another toadie connected to one of the most corrupt administrations this country has ever seen has been exposed as a criminal, and he's still walking around in his own clothing? Don't tell me the Donks are the "Party of the People".

"I deeply regret the sloppiness involved, but I had no intention of withholding documents from the commission, and to the contrary, to my knowledge, every document requested by the commission from the Clinton administration was produced," Berger said in a statement.

I don't give two squirts of piss if every document asked for was produced, it has nothing to do with the fact that this little worm BROKE THE DAMN LAW! Mishandling of classified documents is a CRIME! And this turd was Clinton's NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR? Kee-RISTE what a screw-up! If the NSA can't even follow the damn laws, how the hell can we expect him to do anything else?

I don't care if this was an innocent mistake. I don't care if Berger's motives were as pure as the freshly fallen snow. He fucked up, and he fucked up bad. He needs to pay the price and he needs to be forcibly removed from any level of politics for the rest of his life. You do NOT screw around with classified documents. You do NOT "accidentally" stuff classified papers down your pants. You do NOT FUCK AROUND WITH NATIONAL SECURITY!

Send this bastard to jail. Just like anyone else would be.

Random Thoughts

Granny Smith apples and peanut butter. Proof again that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

(The first proof of such? Beer. Pshaw, like you need to ask!)

Two Americas

Kim du Toit has a new essay up.

'Nuff said.

Retaining your Humanity

Here's a question: How many people out there can kill without remorse?

Seriously, how many? How many people do YOU know who could? Even in the Army, we weren't taught to kill for fun, we trained on it and practiced it and learned it because it would save our life. As a MP, we trained on it and practiced it and learned it because it might save someone else's life. But nowhere, even at some backwoods rifle range, did I ever hear anyone say that killing people was fun.

When I slaughter animals, I still feel a twinge of regret about ending a life. I do it because I have to eat, plain and simple. But I don't get any joy out of killing an animal, it's simply a part of nature, and I feel better knowing that the animal was killed painlessly rather than slaughtered in some massive farm-owned slaughterhouse.

So my question is this: How can someone look at a sonogram, and see the proof of three small hearts beating, and decide to remove two of them just for convenience's sake? "Oh Honey, look, I'm pregnate with triplets. Let's get rid of one or two so we don't have to shop at Costco."

When we saw the specialist, we found out that I was carrying identical twins and a stand alone. My doctors thought the stand alone was three days older. There was something psychologically comforting about that, since I wanted to have just one. Before the procedure, I was focused on relaxing. But Peter was staring at the sonogram screen thinking: Oh, my gosh, there are three heartbeats. I can't believe we're about to make two disappear. The doctor came in, and then Peter was asked to leave. I said, ''Can Peter stay?'' The doctor said no. I know Peter was offended by that.

How can you just end two lives, and still retain that little spark that makes you human? How can you inject two hearts with sodium chloride and call yourself compassionate? How can you make a deliberate decision to end two lives only for the sake of your own personal comfort, and call yourself "loving"?

You can't. And the worst part isn't just that these two lives were ended so a selfish bitch could continue living the pampered life. No, the worst part is that one child is still alive, and living with this thing. I won't even call her a "mother". A mother doesn't kill her children just because she doesn't like Costco. A mother doesn't decide that her personal comfort is more important that someone else's life.

That poor child has to grow up in a house with that thing. Pray for him.

You can read more about it at The Rottweiller, Michelle Malkin, and Allah Pundit. As for me, I'm a little too sick in the stomach to go on about it any more. What a vile, greedy, uncaring bitch.

We Need A Bigger Defense Budget

Especially if we're going to take over for our neighbors to the North.

The Canadian navy will sit out the war on terrorism for one year in an effort to give exhausted sailors a chance to recuperate. HMCS Toronto left the Arabian Sea and the American George Washington Carrier Strike Group July 4 with a broken Sea King helicopter on deck.

And the navy has quietly decided against dispatching a replacement ship until spring 2005 at the earliest.

Take a look on the date on that article. July 15th, 2004. Our pals over at Random Nuclear Strikes recall when the Canadian Navy said the same damn thing ONE YEAR AGO!

"Tired and broke, the Canadian navy is slowing down for a year, cutting back on major training exercises and delaying a return to NATO's Atlantic fleet, senior officers say. "We're just taking a pause here," said Rear-Admiral Glenn Davidson, commander of the navy in the Atlantic.

So just to make things clear, this is pretty much a two year break, because the ONE SHIP that the Canadians were able to muster is damn near worn down to nothing.

How sad is that? How many billions were sunk into the Canadian Gun Registry program (which hasn't been able to prevent, solve, or even identify one single crime!)? How many billions of dollars get sucked into their socialized healthcare system? (which is so wonderful that many Canadians come down to the USA for medical treatment!). You would think that a country of thirty million people would be able to put out more than one ship at a time! The Canadian military, which was once so feared by the Germans that Hitler's troops avoided them and looked for American divisions to fight instead during the invasion of Normandy, is now a broken down, burnt out, used up shell of it's former self. Ignored, unfunded, and damn near abandoned, the Canadian military wouldn't be able to fight off a bad cold these days.

And why? Because the corrupt parasites in Ottowa know that if any country were dumb enough to invade Canada, the USA would ride to the rescue. The Canadian Government feels free to waste as much money as they want on their bread and circuses social programs because they know they don't have to worry about much else. It's disgusting, and it's disgraceful.

The only countries who can mount a military force anywhere close to the USA's strength are Britan and Australia. That's not to say other countries cannot bring considerable military might to bear - Poland, Korea, and New Zealand all have small units that have gained the respect and admiration of the US military. But how many countries can project one-tenth of America's military power over an extended period of time? Not many. (Granted, in Korea's defense they have to keep several hundred thousand troops ready in country due to the insane communist dicator to the North. That'll tie up your resources real quick.)

The next time liberals scream about how much we spend on defense, remind them that if other countries were able to defend themselves instead of begging the USA to do it for them, we wouldn't need to spend near as much as we do. Or we could just tell the UN to go get bent when they ask for troops, which would free up several hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars. That'll cut our defense expeditures quite a bit.

R.C.O.B.

As in Red Curtain Of Blood. It's the veil of rage that falls over your eyes when you see something particularly foul and corrupt (like the AWB or Sen. Hillary Clinton).

And every gun owner and enthusiast should have one when they read this letter sent to Kim du Toit.

I was just fired a few minutes ago. Officially I was "terminated without cause", and that for future employment inquiries they will report that I "decided to leave". Unofficially I learned that the decision had been made by "senior management" to fire me about three months ago, but that they had kept me on to finish up my projects.

Coincidentally, about three months ago I was at a social function with my boss's boss when he took me aside and said to me "Is that a gun?" -- I was, as usual, carrying my Kahr K9, and he had seen the gun under my shirt -- "Would you mind taking that out to your car? I really don't like guns and I don't think it's appropriate for you to have one here".

Read the whole thing.

New Blogger Template Sucks

If there has been any problems with the HTML code, or my spelling, I apologise. I don't know if it's my computer or BlogSpot itself, but all the controls that normally appear in the "creat post" section are gone. All the HTML buttons for bold, hyperlink, italics, ect., gone. Spellcheck, gone. So I'm doing everything by hand.

If you catch an error, email me and I'll fix it when I can.

Say What?

Whoopie Goldberg: "America's heart and soul is freedom of expression without fear of reprisal,"

Excuse me?

Show me where it says that, please. Let's look up the freedoms we have and see if "Freedom of expression without fear of reprisal" is included in there. Let's see, we got Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Assembly, Freedom of the Press, and Freedom to Petition (the government). I don't see any part about "without fear of reprisal". Maybe the stupid bint doesn't realise that the government didn't do a damn thing to her. Time to wake up, Whoopsie.

Let's be clear: The 1st Amendment does not allow the Government to punish you if you say something that government leaders don't like. That's pretty much written in stone. But where did the government do anything to Whoopsie? Did someone in Congress call up Slim-Fast and tell them to dump her? Nope. There was absolutely no government involvement in that decision. It was all private citizens. John Doe on the street, who didn't want to see some blowhard alcoholic washed-up has-been on their TV screens anymore.

Dubya didn't do a damn thing to Whoopsie. We did. Joe Public. The Angry Americans. We're sick and tired of some uneducated idiots spouting off at the mouth everytime we turn on the TV sets. We're sick and tired of some pampered snot-nosed socialist bitch calling us names. We're sick and tired of seeing a group of elitist assholes badmouthing our president. And so we're doing something about it.

Did ya take a look at the stock prices of Slim-Fast's parent company? They're down. Not just a little "oh they'll come back tomorrow" down, but "ohshitweneeddamagecontrol" down. And with everybody and their brother calling up Slim-Fast to complain about the stupid bint, Slim-Fast put two and two together. Whoopsie was a liability, a money loser. If she hung on as the spokesperson, Slim-Fast was going to lose business. While her foul-mouth hystronics might go over well with the tin-foil hat "anybody but Bush" crowd, the vast majority of Americans felt their bile rise after her performance. She was going to cost Slim-Fast money, a lot more money than her million-plus dollar sponsorship, and they cut her loose. Dropped her like a bad habit. Dumped her on her worthless, Bush-hating ass. I expect the stocks to recover now that they don't have Whoopsie acting as a deadweight dragging them into the netherworld.

The government had nothing to do with it. Blame whatever else you like, but don't blame Uncle Sam. He was not a part of it. But this whole episode just highlights what we already know about liberal idiots.

What dipshits like Whoopsie REALLY want is the ability to say anything that might spew out of their piehole and not have to face the consequenses of it from ANYBODY. The Dixie Chicks badmouth the President overseas, and then they're shocked that their country-loving, flag-waving, NASCAR watching, patriotic fans dump them on their ass, complete with tractors driving over piles of their CD's. Natalie whines about how her freedom of speech is being squashed. Boo-fucking-hoo you bimbo, maybe you should have just kept your yap SHUT if you didn't want to drop out of the country music market. Everywhere I look I see the liberals who were bit in the ass by the free-market cry and snivel about their freedom of speech. Hey, you're free to say whatever the hell you want. But don't be surprised when the people who PAY YOUR FUCKING SALARY refuse to associate with you after you blast off at the mouth. Pissing off your fan base is what we here in Reality Land like to call a REALLY FUCKING DUMB IDEA!

They want protection from their own arrogant stupidity. Nope, sorry, that won't fly. How nice of the liberal Hollywood elite to showcase their own ignorance, though. I rather like it when they prove that they don't have a fucking clue what this country stands for. They don't have a clue what the Constitution says. And they don't have a clue about what it means to be a good American. If they want to dish out crap so vile that the transcript is being withheld from the public, then they'd better learn REALLY DAMN FAST that there are consequences for their shit. And it won't come from the government.

It'll come from the people they despise the most: average Americans.

Another cannonball in Moore's direction

I wonder if Michael Moore has figured out that he's getting his ass handed to him in the "truth" department.

I guess after you've sold so many lies to so many gullible people, it's easy to forget that most of America realizes you're a lying sack of rancid gorilla dung. Centigrade 911 is here to remind him.

John Fonda Kerry gets another handprint on his face

And I'm loving it.

Kerry may or may not have been a war hero -- it's for darn sure he saw more active duty than George W. Bush. But we're not voting for favorite ex-soldier, we're voting for the policies that will protect us from foreign enemies.

Kerry's voting record in the Senate says that he'd rather our military consisted of a sixty-man chorus dressed in camo and singing "Give Me Some Men Who Are Stout-Hearted Men."

And maybe, maybe, one bugler.

If it had been up to Kerry, we wouldn't have had enough of a military to take over downtown Dallas, let alone Iraq.

Methinks something has upset Mr. Card, and Mr. Card is letting his feelings be known, to the delight of every right thinking person. RTWT, as they say.

I laughed until I puked

And I don't know why. But I do know that Steve is one of the funniest people on the web, even when he's not trying to be, as when he's ripping Joe "What uranium?" Wilson and his sooper-seekrit spy wife to shreds.

Wilson also claimed he got the job on his own merits, with no pimping efforts on the part of his wife.

And we all recall his wife, Valerie Plame. The super-secret CIA spy who dates men a couple of times and then, perhaps on the pivotal night when she first puts her hand down the fronts of their pants, blurts out that she's a secret agent. That's pretty much how Wilson found out, by his own account. Obviously, he and the wife are highly savvy when it comes to handling classified information. The rule goes like this: never give sensitive intel to anyone until his tongue has been in your mouth.

Bob Novak printed Plame's name and said she was a CIA spy, supposedly after learning the information from a Bush administration official. Moonbat journalists put down their hash pipes and ran for their laptops, thinking this was the weapon that would finally get President Gore the payback he was looking for. Gore would be rescued from his teaching post at West Tennessee Barber College, and he would return, like Napoleon from Elba, to take his rightful throne and force us all to drive stupid little cars with electric motors.

Karl Rove was going to be "frog-marched" out of the White House in handcuffs, whatever "frog-marched" means. I think it means prancing frantically in the opposite direction from armed Germans, while soiling yourself and cursing in French.

Enjoy.

What the HELL?

So I'm watching the news tonight, and they have this nicey-nicey story about some protest or another in downtown Seattle.  Big whoop.  There's a protest in Seattle every time you turn around.  Some cities have a night life.  Seattle has a protest life.  You know, old hippies protesting to try and bring back their youth, young men protesting in an attempt to get laid, young women protesting so that they can be around other young women with armpit hair, yada yada yada.

Anyways, there was a protest, and they showed one guy in a wheelchair protesting along with the rest of them.  At the end of this little story, the wheelchair guy starts talking about how protest is patriotic, and then the voice-over comes in about some hooey about how protesting is this guy's little part of America, and the camera stays on the guy while he rolls away WITH A FUCKING CANADIAN FLAG ON THE BACK OF HIS WHEELCHAIR!!!!!!

I mean, OK, protest away, try to get laid by hairy-armpit chicks, do whatever floats your boat, but don't tell me about how you're a good American WHILE YOUR WAVING THE FLAG OF ANOTHER FUCKING COUNTRY!

Satire is dead, folks.  It's been beaten to death by real life.

Ouch....

I just stumbled upon a website for POW/MIA families against Kerry while I was checking out this blog.  Some of it is pretty brutal, if you happen to be a Kerry Fan.  As usual, all emphasis is mine.

Former POW Paul Galanti:  He says Kerry broke a covenant among servicemen never to make public criticisms that might jeopardize those still in battle or in the hands of the enemy.
Because he did, Galanti said, "John Kerry was a traitor to the men he served with."

Now retired and living in Richmond, VA., Galanti, 64, refuses to cool his ire toward Kerry. "I don't plan to set it aside. I don't know anyone who does," he said. "The Vietnam memorial has thousands of additional names due to John Kerry and others like him."

Former POW Mike Benge:  As Mr. Kerry contemplates a run for the presidency, people must remember that he has fought harder for Hanoi as an anti-war activist and a senator than he did against the Vietnamese communists while serving in the Navy in Vietnam

Former POW Mark A Smith:  "War Hero?" O.K., he received the Silver Star. But, "Expert" on war? No John, but those of us who are, will take the honest leadership of President Bush anytime over you. You have not changed a bit from the time of the Vietnam War. Your wet finger is still in the air checking the political winds, before making any decision or changing one already made. We are at war and I know war. Your brand of equivocation on every issue costs lives in a war and I don't want more dead and wounded here and abroad. You went to war and then marched against it and those of us who still fought.

The rest of the site is just as brutal to 'ol John Fonda Kerry (or as Kim du Toit calls him, Fuckface and the Ambulance Chaser.  FATAB)  I would say that many of the people who know him best are repulsed by him.

Personally, the more I read about the men he betrayed, the more I can't stand the sight of him.

WHAT SHOULD THEY HAVE DONE?

The Spoons Experience: WHAT SHOULD THEY HAVE DONE?

Dissecting the Serpent

Reader Dan D. Doty send this along for the pleasure of our readership:

One of the regular feature contributors over at Democratic Underground is a woman who calls herself "The Plaid Adder".  Her articles are weekly rants about the evils of the Republicans, railings of various ‘isms and objurgating about people who don’t share her narrow point of view. But this feature is not about her features.  P.A. has had pseudo success when she writes for DU; after all she is preaching to the dysfunctional choir.

No, it is the fiction of the regressing reptile where criticism is most needed.

And badly.

The reason why I can do this is simple. You see I’m a writer.  I write stories dealing with science, fantasy and horror.  I was one of the play testers for the 3rd edition of Dungeons and Dragons.  My poetry has been published as a chapbook as well as appearing in magazines and newspapers.  My shorts stories (twelve of them) are in a book called MONSTER NEWS –THE BOOK.

Plaid Adder has a web site linked to DU, where she talks her unpublished novels and short stories.  After reading her work, I know why.  This article is for the most part explaining to the reasons to Ms. Adder herself.  If she’ll listen is another matter.

The first reason why P.A. is not moving her work is simple. She bases the main character on herself. Most writers base the main character on elements of themselves, but totally on themselves. When the heroine is a red headed left wing lesbian, we all know who you are talking about.  The reading public expects a little imagination out of their authors.

The second mistake P.A. makes is not following the rule of conservation.   For those who do not know what the rule is, it is simply this; don’t use a hundred words to say something that you could have done in ten.  Writers who ignore this rule usually do so to hear themselves talk. In other words being longwinded.  This tends to raise the yawn factor and lower your fan potential.  Not a smart move.

The third and strangest mistake Plaid Adder makes is trying to create the anti-fantasy novel.

Trust me, there’s no market for that.

J.R.R. Tolken and Robert E. Howard are giggling in their graves.

The fourth and most fatal mistake Plaid Adder makes is injecting a heavy dose of her politics into her works. People on the left have tried this before, and it doesn’t turn out well.   Socialism (both left and right) has been pushed on the American reader since the 1930’s.  Its always wordy gunk that tries to convince people that they would be better off having a statist government running their lives.  But when people discovered writers like Heinlein, Rand and Bradbury the Utopia peddlers fall by the wayside; left to slink along the ditches dreaming of the past that never was or will be.

After all, who wants to read a story where the hero is the all powerful, all knowing state who struggles to stop an individual from thinking and living for himself?

The fifth and final mistake that Plaid Adder makes is putting her hates into her writings.

On her web site, Plaid Adder has a second rate drawing of her avatar constricting three classic Greek looking male statues (which is weird, because adders are in fact vipers).    These stony figures represent all she hates; Capitalism (the free market), Patriarchy (men) and Imperialism (America).  I can understand the free market because she can’t get anyone to publish her.  Men she needs to blame for her failings, after Adder can’t blame herself, now can she ?  America is that land that does not obey her commands. Its people do what they want and not what she thinks is better for them. How foolish.

And one last bit of advice before I get back to my fantastic fiction.

If you can’t put your real name on anything you write, then it wasn’t worth the time creating it in the first place.
Oy!

Gone drinkin'

The girlfriend and I are going to head on over to the other side of the water tonight and visit with her brother.  I figure that by 10:00 tonight I'll be three sheets to the wind from sucking down scotch and singing really bad kareoke in a bar in Kingston.  Tomorrow we're heading to a festival in Sequim.  It'll be a nice, relaxing time out of Seattle.  I'll see you all tomorrow.

Bush to speak to Urban League

And in his own special way tells the NAACP to get bent.

WASHINGTON — Leaders of the NAACP, through their "hostile rhetoric," have shown no interest in working with President Bush, the White House said Thursday. The president skipped speaking to the group, but will address the annual meeting of another civil rights organization next week.

The NAACP has been openly hostile and partisan towards Republicans for years, but with Bush it's just gotten worse. The insults, barbs, slurs and lies that have come out of both Julian Bonds and Kweisi Mfume aren't just bad politics, they're the venom and hatred of two very, very sick individuals.

On Monday, NAACP President Kweisi Mfume described Bush's black supporters as "ventriloquists' dummies" and said the president's decision not to speak at the convention was an insult. The same day, NAACP chairman Julian Bond urged members to oust Bush and condemned the administration's policies on education, the economy and the war in Iraq.

FULL STOP! Look at that first sentance! I want you to read that two or three times. "ventriloquists' dummies".

Can you feel the raw, unadulterated evil in that sentance? The racism? If you veer away from the official party line, you're nothing but a dummy! Get back on the plantation, you uppity git! That one quote right there sums up just how foul and corrupt the NAACP is. How DARE you think for yourself! How DARE you disagree with your unelected self-nominated leaders! How DARE you question what they say! You should be nothing but a non-thinking drone following their orders!

That one sentance insinuates the unthinkable; You should be their slave.

I won't go into how by the NAACP's own charter they're supposed to be non-partisan. I don't think I have to. Bonds and Mfume have shown their lack of character so many times it's stopped being painful, and is now relegated to the "Oh geez, there they go again" response.

It's disgusting.

Buh Bye, Whoopie

I guess making sexually explicit doody jokes about the President of the United States doesn't make many people happy.

"We are disappointed by the manner in which Ms. Goldberg chose to express herself and sincerely regret that her recent remarks offended some of our consumers. Ads featuring Ms. Goldberg will no longer be on the air," Slim-Fast general manager Terry Olson said in a press release Wednesday.

That would be the little get-together that Kerry and Co. refuses to release the transcripts of, by the way. Gee, I wonder why they would do that? I mean, according to Kerry the people there were the "Heart and Soul" of America. What does he have to fear?

Any guesses?

On A Roll

DANEgerus is having a field day over at his blog.

Ripping the Liberal Media and others to Shreds.

Yeah, that's a link for every word. Or you could just go to his site today and start scrolling down. Memo to the Donks: Never, ever, EVER piss off a man with photographic evidence of your misdeeds. The results ain't pretty.

Two Big Lies

So, Kerry is going around the country campaigning (too bad he hasn't actually done his REAL job, but that's a point for a later date), and while most of the crap that flies out of his mouth is a lie, people have caught him in two really big ones.

With documentation.

Vodka Pundit saw this one first:

"Don’t tell us disenfranchising a million African Americans and stealing their votes is the best we can do."

The problem? The US Civil Rights Commission, despite months of investigation, noted only 26 people with "disenfranchisement" complaints, most of which were found to be specious. (.pdf file can be found here.

Let's see here... A million, or 26? A million, or 26? Well, John Fonda Kerry is only off by 999,973 people, but if that's the way he runs his numbers there's no chance in hell he'll be able to run the economy. I can see that first SOTU address... "MY PERSONAL KNOW-HOW AND ACTION RAISED TEN GAZILLION DOLLARS!" Uh, nope.

The second lie? More of the same: "We've got more African Americans in jail than we do in college. That's unacceptable"

Once again, the facts are NOT on John Fonda Kerry's side, as Stephan Sharkansky points out.

In fact, it seems that there are more than twice as many African Americans in college than in jail.
U.S. Census Bureau (2000): African Americans in college: 2,224,181

U.S. DoJ Office of Justice Programs: "Prison and Jail Inmates at MidYear 2003" (p.11): "Table 13. Number of inmates in state or federal prisons or local jails" -- Black Americans in jail: 899,200.
Those nearly 900,000 incarcerated African Americans still represent a tragic waste of lives and potential. But fortunately, things are not nearly as gloomy as John Kerry wants to believe they are.

So not only does John Fonda Kerry lie his ass off at every chance he gets, the supposedly "objective" media lets it pass. Oh, THAT liberal media. But I digress. John Fonda Kerry wouldn't know the truth if it bit him in the ass, and he has shown NO reluctance whatsoever to play the class-warfare game, pull out the race card, or lower himself to whatever level he needs in order to grab the reins of power. What a sickening, disgusting, purile little man. And thank you VodkaPundit for exposing it a bit more.

Way Cool

Old retired couple who love baseball go on a trip to every baseball field in America and Canada.

Found it in the Seattle Times. I don't know if I love baseball enough to visit every ballpark, but my love of travel would keep me going for a while. From the newspaper article, a list of bests:

Best major-league park: Seattle Mariners, Safeco Field. (It's a kick ass field - not a bad seat in the house)

Best minor-league park: Altoona Curve, Blair County Ballpark, Altoona, Pa. The park is sunk into a hillside, and an active wooden roller coaster — The Curve — looms above the outfield.

Best atmosphere: Boston Red Sox, Fenway Park, Boston.
(This, I can agree to. Going to a game at Fenway is like nowhere else)

Best view from stadium: San Francisco Giants, SBC Park, San Francisco.

Best seats they sat in: Oklahoma RedHawks, SBC Bricktown Ballpark, Oklahoma City; first row behind home plate.

Best sandwich: Kansas City T-Bones, CommunityAmerica Ballpark, Kansas City, Kan., T-Boneless T-Bone Sandwich.

Best promotion: Clunker Night with the Arkansas Travelers, Ray Winder Field, Little Rock, Ark. All ticket holders are placed in a drawing for a donated clunker car; it's guaranteed to run, but everything else may not work.

Biggest warning: They were told not to wear their Mariners jerseys at Philadelphia Phillies games, because the fans might get ugly. They didn't wear them in Yankee Stadium, either.

Best snapshot: The Flower Boy, dressed in a pink nightie, pink satin shorts, hot pink socks and a matching lei, presenting Andrea Siscel with a free bouquet at the Hudson Valley, N.Y., Renegades game.

Worst experience: None. They say it was all good.

Only place they didn't cheer for the home team: Yankee Stadium.
(When the Yankees lose, the baby Jesus smiles)

Most unexpected (and now former) Mariner sighting: Ben Davis, playing with the Tacoma Rainiers in Memphis, Tenn. They made a quick call home to learn about Davis' demotion.

The Next Time Someone Says "Without France, there'd be no America"...

...you can recall the information presented below:

When Adams took office in 1797, France presented his first challenge. The French had seen Jay's Treaty, between the US and Britain, as a signal that the US supported Britain in the ongoing war against France. The French had put off retribution, hoping for a Jefferson administration which might be more friendly toward France. Upon Jefferson's loss in the election, however, France began to seize American ships en route to British ports. After a year of this, the French had attacked and plundered over 300 American ships. As a further insult, France ordered that every American citizen captured aboard a British naval vessel be hanged.

Adams dispatched a peace commission to Paris to negotiate shortly after the beginning of these hostile activities. However, in what became known as the XYZ Affair, Charles de Tallyrand, the French foreign minister, refused to meet with the US delegation, instead sending three anonymous agents, X, Y, and Z. The agents delivered the message that Tallyrand would not begin talks until he received $250,000 for himself, and France received a $12 million loan. This widely publicized (in America) attempt at extortion aroused public outrage among the American people, some of whom called for war. Riding this tide, the Federalists overwhelmingly took the 1798 congressional elections.

A.Q. Kahn - What we've learned from Libya's Cooperation

Following up on Lies Ignorance Democrats Libya WMD from earlier today, I present:

Evidence uncovered as part of Libya's decision to 'come clean' on its weapons of mass destruction programs show further implication on the part of A.Q. Khan and, possibly, Pakistan. Indeed, Libya's uranium enrichment program appeared reliant on both G-1 and G-2 (P-1 and P-2) centrifuge designs; material for which it reportedly paid substantial sums for.

Started in the early 1990s, Libya’s disclosed uranium enrichment program appears based on both Pakistan’s G-1 and G-2 centrifuge designs, with some of the centrifuges having been flown there from Pakistan.

A.Q. Khan has confessed to meeting with Libyans in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1990.

Libya was also reportedly provided by the Pakistanis with additional information on how and where to acquire additional components for this program. Using at first the G-1 design, it later upgraded to the G-2 model, which Libya is reported to have had set up a small number of. These were being manufactured at a facility in Malaysia arranged through Khan's netowrk. Components from that plant which were intercepted by the United States aboard a German-registered ship on their way to Libya in October 2003 after having been spotted whilst going through the Suez Canal.

Schematics for both G-2 centrifuges and bombs were reported to be among documentation given to both the United States and the IAEA by Libya.

The supply chain for Libya's program relied on Libyans contacting Pakistanis who would in turn contact middlemn. These would contact suppliers for the desired components which, once completed would then be shipped to the Persian Gulf emirate of Dubai, from where they would be delivered to Libya. Items thus procured ranges from high-strength metals and vaccuum systems to electronics.

Who was A.Q. Kahn?

In early February 2004, Pakistan’s national hero and the father of its atomic bomb, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, admitted to masterminding an elaborate nuclear proliferation network that had transferred nuclear technology to Iran, Libya, and North Korea--and perhaps elsewhere.

For anyone interested in catching a glimpse of how serious the problem of having the powerful fruit of civilization in the hands of barbarians is, I suggest reading through those links as well as this one on Abdul Qadeer Khan.

Now for the tie in:

IF WE HAD NOT DEPOSED SADDAM HUSSEIN IT IS VERY LIKELY WE WOULD NOT HAVE THIS INFORMATION. THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH!

You'd think this information would see more daylight. No. That would highlight Gadhafi's cooperation. Which would highlight the success of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Democrats (and their ass muppets in the major media) seem to enjoy playing games with our national security.

For those who haven't seen "Troy"

And maybe for those who have, I give you "Troy in Fifteen Minutes".

Just don't drink anything while you read. You have been warned.

Giving up

That's it. I'm giving up. Throwing in the towel. I can no longer continue this charade. I have to just stand tall and admit the obvious truth.

My Mariners are finished.

Freddie Garcia? Gone, and just signed a big fat contract with the White Sox. They just unloaded Rich Aurelia. Edgar Martinez is past his prime and no longer scares the living daylights out of opposing pitchers. John Olerude has lost the pep in his bat, and Brett Boone seems to flail away without hitting anything other than air. Randy Winn's arm is exposed as lacking, and Scott Spezio seems to spend as much time on the DL as he does at third base.

They're bringing up rookies from Tacoma and letting them play, and you just KNOW that it's because those kids will be the starters next year. But this year?

My beloved M's are done. Stick a fork in 'em. They're toast. They've gone from the top to the bottom in less than a year.

Blah.

Hey, spring training for my Seahawks starts soon, doesn't it?

Lies Ignorance Democrats Libya WMD

Here is an example of Democrats arguing against the truth just because the facts happen to agree with President Bush.

Fox reports on a speech by President Bush citing justification for removing Saddam

Important part:

The White House has long portrayed Libya's pledge to abandon programs to develop weapons of mass destruction as affirmation of Bush's hard-line strategy on arms proliferation. It suggested the U.S.-led war in Iraq helped convince Gadhafi that he should act.

Democrats, however, dismiss any such claim, saying instead it was the softer hand of diplomacy that helped score the turnaround in Libya.

Who's right?

Let's ask Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi

Hans Blix, former chief U.N. weapons inspector, said he imagined "Gadhafi could have been scared by what he saw happen in Iraq."

Asked about his decision, Gadhafi acknowledged that the Iraq war may have influenced him, but he insisted he wanted to focus on the "positive."

The Donks insisted that Gadhafi's words meant nothing and cited years of attempts to get the thug to comply with international requests as being responsible for his decision despite the following:

1)Saddam was captured on December 14, 2003
2) Gadhafi agrees to cooperate December 19, 2003
3) Libya approached British and U.S. officials in mid-March, about the same time the war in Iraq began.
4) As mentioned previously, Gadhafi's own admission.

So are they stupid or lying? This is what it always comes down to with Democrats. Are they ignorant of the information I just presented you? If not, why...oh why would they lie and say our liberation of Iraq from the rule of Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with Libya's cooperation with international requests to disarm and stop supporting terror? They lie because it is politically advantageous to do so. After all, they can't admit that President Bush did something good. That won't give them the power they lust after.

UPDATE
Just in case they try to deny how they addressed Libya's new found desire to cooperate:

John Kerry on Libya's new cooperation - "''An administration that scorns multilateralism and boasts about a rigid doctrine of military pre-emption has almost in spite of itself demonstrated the enormous potential for improving our national security through
diplomacy."
Former Democrat Presidential Candidate Wesley Clark - "It's a program of squeezing Libya that's gone on for more than a decade. The Clinton administration was very much involved with this."

Oh, THIS is going to be interesting!

I've often though that the USA was a little too nice when it came to killing bad guys. It seems that we always take a stance which comes back to bite us in the butt. It's part of our culture, the "Be Nice" mindset that people in this country seem to have.

The Iraqis, however, have a different culture. And now that they're in charge, things might just go a little differently.

Iraq will soon offer amnesty to insurgents so long as they haven't performed "atrocious acts" but the interim president is threatening to use a "very sharp sword" to fight guerrillas threatening the country's security.

"We are offering an amnesty definitely, for people who have not committed too many atrocious acts," Iraqi interim President Ghazi al-Yawer told The Financial Times on Monday. "Everybody except murderers, rapists and kidnappers."

OK, so quite a few people will get a chance to remain among the living. I don't know how they'll be able to tell the difference between a murderer and some guy who just likes to torture people, but that's their choice not mine.

Al-Yawer appealed to insurgents to accept the amnesty and lay down their weapons.

"This is your last chance, otherwise there will be the sword," he said.

Foreign and local insurgents have launched numerous attacks in Iraq in an effort to force U.S.-led coalition forces to leave and to thwart the country's postwar reconstruction. The attacks have killed scores of U.S. troops and hundreds of Iraqi civilians.

"Terrorism isn't just killing and blowing up bombs, whoever threatens the ordinary life of the people is a terrorist," al-Yawer told reporters Monday. "We have a very sharp sword ready for anyone who threatens the security of this country."

Now here is where I pause to chuckle for a bit. By and large, the "insurgents" that are fighting in Iraq are not Iraqi. They're Iranian, or Syrian, or Lebanese, or Palestinian. They aren't going to stop fighting or causing trouble, because a free and stable Iraq is what they're fighting AGAINST. Which means that the Iraqi government is going to be able to wipe them off the face of the earth without hesitation. These terrorists have three options: 1) Leave Iraq (which they can't do without admitting failure), 2) Stay in Iraq but stop fighting (which they can't do without admitting failure), and 3) Stay in Iraq, keep fighting, and die.

And I'm going to sit back and grin.

Michael Muqtada al-Moore

Ouch.

Bush may be vulnerable to substantive criticism of his personal capabilities and his policies and motivation. There might be a rational and convincing argument to be made for voting for "anyone but Bush".

But we won't find out in 2004. Michael Moore has done more than any other single man to guarantee that. Someone on the left may voice such an argument, but he'll be drowned out by rabid LL jihadists as they stridently deliver a message tailor-made to alienate the broad electorate in style of presentation, in attitude, in substance, and in underlying message. Moore holds a locus of extreme political positions, and most Americans will consider at least one of them to be utterly odious. (For instance, Moore strongly favors gun control, but Americans actually own more guns per capita than do the citizens of any other nation.)

It is rare for a political faction to be blessed with an opponent who is so charismatic to his fanatical supporters, so repulsive to non-supporters, and so vulnerable to criticism and caricature. I can't think of a high-profile leftist I'd rather have "at the centre of things" than Michael Muqtada al-Moore.

And THAT is why I read den Beste

Let's frogmarch him in handcuffs out the door!

Remember Joe Wilson? The guy who wanted Karl Rove frogmarched in handcuffs out of the White House?

Yeah, that guy. The poor little picked on Wilson, who's wife was "outed" (and then who had a nice photo spread!)

Turns out he's full of shit.

Wilson last year launched a public firestorm with his accusations that the administration had manipulated intelligence to build a case for war. He has said that his trip to Niger should have laid to rest any notion that Iraq sought uranium there and has said his findings were ignored by the White House.

Wilson's assertions -- both about what he found in Niger and what the Bush administration did with the information -- were undermined yesterday in a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee report.

The guy is a lying snake, willing to sell his country down the river in order to hurt the current administration. Gee, what a nice guy.

The report also said Wilson provided misleading information to The Washington Post last June. He said then that he concluded the Niger intelligence was based on documents that had clearly been forged because "the dates were wrong and the names were wrong."

"Committee staff asked how the former ambassador could have come to the conclusion that the 'dates were wrong and the names were wrong' when he had never seen the CIA reports and had no knowledge of what names and dates were in the reports," the Senate panel said. Wilson told the panel he may have been confused and may have "misspoken" to reporters. The documents -- purported sales agreements between Niger and Iraq -- were not in U.S. hands until eight months after Wilson made his trip to Niger.

Wilson's reports to the CIA added to the evidence that Iraq may have tried to buy uranium in Niger, although officials at the State Department remained highly skeptical, the report said.

Wilson said that a former prime minister of Niger, Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, was unaware of any sales contract with Iraq, but said that in June 1999 a businessman approached him, insisting that he meet with an Iraqi delegation to discuss "expanding commercial relations" between Niger and Iraq -- which Mayaki interpreted to mean they wanted to discuss yellowcake sales. A report CIA officials drafted after debriefing Wilson said that "although the meeting took place, Mayaki let the matter drop due to UN sanctions on Iraq."

According to the former Niger mining minister, Wilson told his CIA contacts, Iraq tried to buy 400 tons of uranium in 1998.
(all emphasis mine)

Hang him high, boys. Rope, tree, asshat. Some assembly required.

Hat tip to DANEgerus.

More crap from Seattle

Actually, from Bainbridge Island, but the attitude is the same from Olympia to Seattle.

Think about the Seattle area -- Bainbridge Island to be exact -- and you think scenic views and liberal-minded tolerance.

At least the killer views are still there.

The bucolic island's deep reputation for civility got a gut check this week during the annual Grand Old Fourth of July celebration.

That's when Jason Gilson, a 23-year-old military veteran who served in Iraq, marched in the local event. He wore his medals with pride and carried a sign that said "Veterans for Bush."

Walking the parade route with his mom, younger siblings and politically conservative friends, Jason heard words from the crowd that felt like a thousand daggers to the heart.

"Baby killer!"

"Murderer!"

"Boooo!"

I've had a few people ask my why I haven't blogged on this sooner, since the incident happened in my neck of the woods. My answer?

It's nothing unusual for the Seattle area. This is typical. Bringing this up would just be yet another example of the bullshit that this area regularly produces. I've got a neighbor who's truck and house have both been vandalized because of the visible "Bush/Cheney" stickers and signs. And to top it all off, the guy has a sign in his window that states "I'm a Proud Friend of Israel" sitting in his window. He was flying a 101st Airborn flag in his yard for quite a while. The guy has balls of brass. But the reactions he's getting are not out of the norm. The vandalism, that's normal. Trying putting a Bush/Cheney sticker on your car and then parking it anywhere near Capitol Hill. You won't have any windows left. My neighbor has had paint poured over the signs on his house, which of course means that the paint was also poured on his house.

Yeah, really nice people around here, really "tolerant", really "inclusive". Bullshit. This is the average attitude for the Loony Left here in the Pacific Northwest. King County is by and large a one party system, unless you count the Communist party, Socialist party and the Green party, who do get quite a large chunk of votes. Would you like to see a statue of Lenin? I can show you where a Seattle neighborhood has proudly put one on display. Jim McDermott represents Seattle in the US House of Representatives. Lest we forget, Baghdad Jim is one of those proud congresscritters who A) Went to Baghdad before the war and proclaimed Saddam Hussein more trustworthy than George Bush, B) Is a registered member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and C) Has advanced more loony conspiracy theories than almost any one else in Congress. And oh by the way, the last time he was up for re-election he got 71% of the vote. That was AFTER we went to Baghdad and gave Saddam a blowjob on international TV.

You think I'm surprised at this soldier being slandered and insulted? Nope. I'm surprised he wasn't pelted with rotten fruit as well. But seeing as this was a 4th of July parade, I'm sure the rotten fruit was already thrown at the color guard up front. They ran out long before this soldier came along.

If those folks on Bainbridge had cheered when that soldier walked by, I'd have blogged on it. It would have been newsworthy. But lies, slander, insults, vandalism, hatred, and violence from the Loony Left in Seattle?

That's normal.

Weekend Update

It's been a pretty good weekend so far. The girlfriend and I continued our work on refinishing the chair, until we were interrupted by a thunderstorm that blew in suddenly. Typical Seattle weather; if you don't like it, wait five minutes and it'll change. Still, we managed to get all the varnish off the disassembled pieces. Unfortunately I had to use such a coarse grit to remove the crud, we're having to sand each piece two or three more times in order to smooth it out before we stain it. It's slow going, but it'll be worth it.

Took the new camera out for a spin downtown last night. I bought a cable shutter release, and toyed around with holding the shutter open to see how it works. Hopefully I'll have some cool pictures, but if not I can chalk it up to a learning experience. I'm using a tripod that my father bought in the 1960's, and gave to me a few months ago. I just think that's kinda cool. The girlfriend and I made a date out of it, had a nice dinner, and then we walked around for a few hours.

It's getting harder and harder to find a restaurant that allows cigar smoking in this town. I'd like to be able to sit back, fire up a good stogie and have a glass of scotch after dinner. That seems to be fading away in Seattle. If there's any businessmen reading, here's an idea for you to run with: Start up a restaurant where you can smoke a good cigar, and you don't have to hide in some little room to do so. It'll be a hit, trust me. Market yourself to the smokers, place ads in cigar magazines, put up ads in all the smokeshops. You'll be rich. With all the BS that cigar smokers have gone through in this state, we'd welcome a place that looks at us like decent customers. Seriously, you're talking about people who will spend $10-$15 for a single good cigar, do you think we're gonna skimp on the dinner that we have right before we smoke it? Hell no.

All in all, it's been a relaxing weekend. If I see anything that gets my heartrate up, I'll post it.
