Fast food workers call for their replacements

Well, not in so many words....

Emboldened by an outpouring of support on social media, low-wage fast-food and retail workers from eight cities who have staged walkouts this year are calling for a national day of strikes Aug. 29.

The workers — who are backed by local community groups and national unions and have held one-day walkouts in cities such as New York, St. Louis and Detroit — say they have received pledges of support from workers in dozens of cities across the country.

Hey there, Skippy:  You know how much effort it takes to do your job?  Just a little above none.  You know how much training and education it takes to do your job?  Again, just a little above none.  As long as someone can understand English (which in California is getting more rare) or can read (again, more rare in the big cities), then any slack-jawed dopehead fuckwit can make fries.  Any knuckle-dragging asswipe can flip burgers. 

The workers are calling for a wage of $15 an hour and the right to form a union. Organizers of the walkout say cashiers, cooks and crew members at fast-food restaurants are paid a median wage of $8.94 an hour.
Which is more than a lot of them are worth, let me tell you.

Look, I've worked fast food jobs.  IN HIGH SCHOOL.  They take little training, little intelligence, and only a little motivation to do.  You don't get paid $15 an hour for a reason:  THE JOB IS NOT WORTH THAT MUCH!  Any fast food worker can be replaced by the next untrained idiot off the road.

 I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time accurately translating the socialist bullshit of an Obama voter regurgitating class-warfare agitprop.
He has a second job at Pizza Hut that pays him $7.47 an hour.
Oh, so he's already gotten raises at his Burger King job?  He's already getting paid over minimum wage for flipping burgers?  And he's COMPLAINING?

Willietta Dukes, 39, of Durham, N.C., a mother of two, said she plans to walk off her job at Burger King that day. She said she has little choice. After 15 years of working behind the counters, griddles and deep fryers of fast-food restaurants, she still earns a poverty-level wage. She said her highest salary has been $8.65 an hour, and she rarely is scheduled for a 40-hour week.

 FIFTEEN YEARS AT BURGER KING?  Yep, there's another proud Obama voter right there.  She probably believes that money grows on trees, and couldn't figure out how much it would cost the company each year to give her a 25 cent, 50 cent or one dollar raise.

After I graduated high school, I worked a minimum wage job for about a year.  And then?

I figured out that if I wanted to get paid, I'd better learn some skills.  And I learned some skills at the job I was working at the time.  And I got promoted.  And I stopped making minimum wage.

And then I joined the Army.  Other people go to school.  Some to go college, some go to vocational school.  Some people join apprenticeship programs, be they formal or informal.  But I guarantee you, the people making a living wage today NEVER ONCE IN THEIR LIFE ever said "Gee, I think I'll work at this Burger King for fifteen years!  What a great way to raise a family!"

 Let me finish by quoting Larry Corriea again.
If you are stuck in a minimum wage job for ten years, the problem is you. If you are trying to support a family for any extended period of time on a minimum wage job, the problem is you. If you don't think the problem is you, the problem is you. If you dont' have the skills to get promoted or hired somewhere else, the problem is you. If there aren't any jobs in you area, friggin' move, but I'm betting the problem is still you.
 Stay off drugs.  Finish school.  Don't have kids until you're married.  And you'll have good odds that you won't be flipping burgers for 15 years. 

I can't believe that even needs to be said in this country.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the news knows that people are dying in the streets in Egypt. Dave mentioned it earlier. And they have started parading Coptic Christian nuns through the streets as "prisoners of war". Their term, not mine.

"Prisoners of war". If they are invoking the terms of the Geneva Conventions by using that phrase, they are alleging that their captured enemy had been identified solely because of a device or insignia worn or attached to their clothing and distinguishable from a distance. Link.

However, that ignores the other requirements that they be: 1) commanded by a person responsible for their behavior; 2) carrying arms openly; and, 3) conducting their own operations in accordance with the laws of war.

Problem is that the ones doing the parading are ignoring the obvious. Link 2. "Members of the medical personnel and chaplains while retained by the Detaining Power with a view to assisting prisoners of war, shall not be considered as prisoners of war."

Given their treatment of non-Muslims captured in the past, I expect these nuns will not make it until the end of the week with their heads still attached, never mind the probability of rape and other desecrations.

But here in the US, the main news involving our nation's chief executive is not how he is manfully standing up to these sub-barbaric monsters, but that Obama got a new PUPPY!!!!!  SQUEEE!

Is it any more possible for me to hold this once-great nation in such disdain? The nation I put my life on the line for?

Yup.

Burn it down. Salt the earth where it once stood. Try again from scratch. (Omaha would make a good capitol. Or Pueblo, CO.)

The Egypt Mess

And I call it a mess because the sheer incompetence and idiocy on display by Obama the witless douchenozzle and his crony, John F'in Kerry, have turned it into an even bigger goat-screw than it would have been if they had just left things alone.

Rivrdog gives a nice summation of the whole situation over at his blog.  But the point I want to impress on people is this:

Egypt's Islamists are targeting Christian churches and businesses as the country increased security at the Supreme Constitutional Court in Cairo ahead of planned mass protests by Morsi supporters.

Since security forces cleared two sit-in camps filled with supporters of former President Mohammed Morsi on Wednesday, Islamists have attacked dozens of Coptic churches, along with homes and businesses owned by the Christian minority. The campaign of intimidation appears to be a warning to Christians outside Cairo to stand down from political activism.

The military in Egypt is bearing down on the terrorist organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood, and in response, the terrorists are bearing down on..... 

Christians.

So guys who are getting chased by tanks are in turn chasing down Copts and other Christians, burning churches, and doing their best to slaughter them wholesale.  And our government is up in arms because of what the Egyptian military is doing?

If this doesn't reinforce just how anti-christian Obama the Nazi is, nothing will.  And I think it's a perfect highlight of Obama the Nazi's foreign policy:  kick out the guy who was there, support a terrorist organization, and then blast the adults in the room for actually protecting the country from the terrorist organization that Obama the Nazi supported.  This is why Egyptians are dancing in the streets calling Obama a fascist (which he is) and a terrorist supporter (which he is).  In fact, the average Egyptian citizen has a better understanding of the Black Jesus than the Media in this country does, which to be honest shouldn't be too hard, given the comparatively low intelligence of the average media person in America.

To the people of Egypt:  I'm sorry that this President is such a witless fuckhead.  I'm sorry that this President is such a spineless douchenozzle.  I'm sorry that this President is such an incompetent fucking idiot.  I did not vote for him.  I have never voted for him.  And despite what the Leftist idiots of America might try to claim, he is not my President. When it comes to Obama the Nazi, I consider myself a sede-vacantist; I don't believe that the person occupying the seat is truly the President, and I don't consider anything coming from the pResident to be valid.

Besides - given what a total and completely incompetent idiot Obama is, and his complete and total lack of anything close to leadership ability, the seat may as well be vacant.  It would be better for us if it were; there'd be less damage to deal with.

I know that if you are reading this, you probably support Voter ID laws already, but if you need ammo to hammer arguments about how "requiring an ID is oppressive", use this page.

I suppose there is a pacifist teetotalling non-smoking citizen who doesn't have a bank account or cell phone, has never applied for any government benefits or employment, lives alone in someone's garage, walks everywhere he goes, and has never been seen by a doctor or hospital* and who has never needed a prescription of any sort who REALLY, REALLY wants to influence the political landscape, but vague hypotheticals aren't enough to override the State's interest in preventing fraud on massive scales. There actually has to be someone who is harmed by the requirement. (And most States say that if the potential voter wants to vote, but can't afford the minor fee involved in obtaining the ID, that fee - often on the order of $4-20 - can be waived.

(* what with the total avoidance of tobacco and liquor, and all that healthy exercise, I have to admit this is possible)

Eighth Amendment? It has shifted from "don't use branding and thumbscrews" to "I don't like this meal" and making the taxpayers pay for gender reassignment surgery.

Ninth Amendment? Just ask the citizens here in California, which are not even allowed to petition our elected officials to enforce the law, thanks to SCOTUS.

Tenth Amendment? Anywhere there is a Federal Department of anything not specifically mentioned as one of the enumerated powers of Congress which duplicates and overrides the assorted State agencies that would normally have the legal jurisdiction is a violation. Take the list on this page, and subtract Commerce, Defense, Justice, State and Treasury (all of which are mentioned or can be logically inferred). Get rid of the rest, lock stock and little red stapler.

But by all means, let's add some more Amendments to solve this!

I wonder if...

... all of these pro-illegal immigration advocates would mind if the illegals they are championing were to come and live in their living rooms. Eating their food, drinking their water, using their utilities, all the rest. No rent, no explanation, maybe chip in the occasional $20 (while sending anything they actually earn back to their families in whichever country they came from)...

They'd be okay with that, right? No choice in the matter, and someone to call them "racist" when they so much as sighed in frustration.

That's what they are demanding of the rest of us, after all.

No one I have ever spoken with on the matter has EVER been for "no immigration at all". Our country was founded on the concept of "Give us your huddled masses, yearning to breath free", and there is room enough for everyone who wants to share in the dream of creating a better future for their kids. But that does not mean we don't have the right - not to mention the duty and responsibility - to make sure we know who is visiting, and who is planning on staying. And the bias of the government MUST be towards those who are living within the rules, with increasing levels of disincentive for those who choose to violate them as a condition of entering.

Just sign the damned guest book on the way in the front door, instead of breaking in through the basement window and leeching off the rest of us. And learn the damned language, just as I would have to do if I were to move to whichever shithole you are deserting.

Calling an illegal immigrant an "undocumented resident" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".

Bug Out Bags

I just read some damn good advice regarding a bug-out bag.  Given that this country is so huge, and I doubt there's two people who read this blog that face the same conditions in an emergency or natural disaster, this person's comment over at Rural Revolution made me want to repost it, both for it's insight and it's simplicity.

In the past, I heard a wilderness survivalist refer to what he call the "Five Cs" for basic survival.
They are:
1. A cutter. Some sort of a bladed instrument or multi tool.
2. A container. Something to hold your survival equipment and also serve as a water container and cooking implement.
3. A combustible. Some instrument that can be used to start fires.
4. A cover. Small tarp or poncho to provide shelter.
5. Cordage. A ball of heavy twine or 550 cord covers more uses than can be covered in just a few sentences.
You can pack these few very useful items with minimal weight and then expand your B.O.B. as circumstances dictate.

That's good advice right there.

So I see in the news that the Great Marxist Messiah, he of the "Smart Diplomacy", isn't going to have a face-to-face meeting with Russia's Putin.  That's probably a good idea, given that any photo of the two of them together simply reinforces the point that Obama is nothing more than Putin's bitch on the international stage.  Hell, even before Obama basically told the Russian President over a hot mic that once he got re-elected he'd get America bent over and spread-eagle for a good ass-raping, Putin knew that Obama was nothing but a spineless little bitch and acted accordingly.  So when Edward Snowden hauled ass to Moscow, do you think for one moment that Putin was going to turn him over to America?

Fuck no.  Obama the sniveling pussy is Putin's bitch, everybody knows it, and everybody knew what would happen:  Putin would make Obama twist in the wind, and then tell him to piss up a rope.  And yep, that's pretty much what happened.

Congratulations, Democrats.  Your Lord, God and Savior is every bit the craven piece of shit we said he was, and now America is the international laughingstock.  I hope you're happy.

Spent the last ten days up near my old stomping grounds.  Busy as all hell.  And there's no rest for the weary this week.

Driving near the Space Needle was enough to remind me why I left Seattle.  Traffic was even worse than when I moved away.  And the pot smoke was enough to convince me to never move back.  I love how I can't find a place to smoke a cigar for love or money, but the dopeheads can sit around Pike Place Market and toke up at will.  The smell made me gag.

DuPont was nice though.  Great running trails.

How about some plain language?

Amendment 2 --  A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The men who wrote the Constitution and its Amendments were not lawyers quibbling over the value of a comma. They were fairly well-educated for their day (for the most part), and moderately to very successful in their own occupations. They were not politicians. They used simple language, intended for everyone to understand, since that language would have to stand up to scrutiny and arguments by those very same people who had seen both the War and the resulting screw-ups involving the Articles of Confederation.

So let's look at it from a plain language point of view, shall we?

There is something I remembered from high school English class, and it is the concept of "Dependent Clause" vs "Independent Clause". You can go read up on the peculiarities and distinctions, but it boils down to one thing, and it is a binary condition. Either the clause can stand alone as an intelligible sentence (making it an Independent Clause) or it cannot, and is intended merely as a supplemental phrase, perhaps adding additional context or explanation (making it a Dependent Clause). Simple, no?

Ignore the history of the Amendment, and how the people who endorsed the idea had just used their personal weapons to get rid of one government, so were not unaware of the need for such preparations. Ignore that Federal Law actually defines "militia" as effectively everyone between 17 and 45. Ignore all of that, and see which of the two clauses in the Amendment can stand alone. (Because THAT is the intent of the sentence, not the supplemental context.)

Which of those two is what was actually meant by the Founders?

Somebody said a bad word!

No, really some NFLer said a word which is so horrible, the consensus is that he needs to flay his own skin off his body, and parade it around the country while continuously running his penis through a wood-chipper and apologizing to anyone who comes within five hundred yards of his presence.

What's that word?  Huh.  Take a guess.  Anyone?  Anyone?

Fine, I'll say it:  Nigger.  The "N" word.  The word which is so horrible that it cannot be uttered by anyone except for ....

Rap Artists.  Anyone who happens to be black.  Or anyone who happens to fall under the Democrat Plantation's umbrella, in which case you can get a free pass, as Robert "Grand Klegal" Byrd.  Because a good-old white boy from West Virginia is all understanding and stuff, especially when he's part of the Democrat machine, so he gets a pass.

Seriously, is there anyone out there who can state with a straight face that this NFLer has never, ever ever evereverever in his life heard the word "Nigger" uttered in an NFL locker room?

Hell, are you telling me that they've never played a song from Ice-T?  Or Ice Cube?  I suppose the song "Straight Up Nigga" has never ONCE been played in a locker room, right?  All those players wearing their "Beats by Dr Dre" headphones should give them up, given how much money Dre has made using the word "Nigga", right?

From the uproar about this one guy, you'd think he'd been caught in bed with a live boy.  Or a dead girl.  Oh, wait, the Democrats have already tried to normalize that, so let me find another analogy.  You think he'd been caught personally clubbing a baby harp seal in the head while pissing on Old Glory and banging his brother's wife.

But not one peep about the use of the word "Nigger", or "Nigga", or any other variations of the N-word by folks who just happen to be black.   That's a double-standard in my book.

So this NFLer is getting beaten to death on national TV, while the actual use of the N-word goes on unabated by other folks with darker skin.  Look, folks:  If it's a word that should not be uttered because of how hateful it is, then let's enforce that standard.  But don't do it in some chicken-shit way, where only one group of people is banned from using a word.  Because that is...  well....  chickenshit.

If not this, what? If not now, when?

We have a government that has broken faith with its citizenry. Our public servants routinely use what petty power attaches to their bureaucracy to control behavior, with their own internal court systems to issue binding precedents in amounts that would have crushed any hand-cranked printing press.

Our elected officials routinely lie to our faces, and trust a compliant media to help with the cover-up. On those rare occasions when a Democrat's misdeeds simply cannot be hushed up any more, their lick-spittle lapdogs pass it off as "old news" and go on to slander private citizens who have the nerve to not buckle under to The Narrative.

We have a Congress that has not passed a budget - required under Federal Law, let me remind you - since April, 2009 (technically still part of the budget that hadn't quite been passed the preceding October, under Bush). The Continuing Resolution that has been paying for those trillion-dollar deficits since Obama was sworn in has the "one-time" stimulus built into the system. Which means that we have been paying for that "one-time" stimulus, and the money has been spent (God alone knows where), every year since.

I was recently reading an online book (fan fiction), and it had a line that was good enough for me to remember and save.

"What's true is already so; admitting it doesn't make it worse."

There are web sites out there (easy to find, if you bother to look) that list all the times Obama has broken the law. From the War Powers Act to "deemed passed" to his violations of the Fourth Amendment, his attempts on the Second Amendment to many, many others.

The Supreme Court has voluntarily surrendered any notion of objectivity and completely ruined the concept of fairness, from "Roe v Wade" to the utter refusal to acknowledge the 9th and 10 Amendments to the Kelo land grab to ACA being a "tax", and all boiled down to anyone who can count being able to predict where Justices will fall, and which arguments will be cited.

The entire Federal Government has been violating its own establishing authority, usurping power from citizens through bureaucratic oppression, "ham sandwich" prosecutions and militarizing police forces.

Isn't it time to start taking a hard look around?

Professional Outrage

The Ragin' Mrs. saw this ad last night and got a little ticked off.

You want a perfect example of Democrat policies?  You have them in Detroit.  Detroit is Ground Zero for Progressivism in America. And they have DONE IT TO THEMSELVES!

Detroit is the junkie overdosing with the needle still in it's arm.  Detroit is the drunk choking to death on his own vomit.  Detroit is the diseased, poxey whore  at the end stage of syphilitic dementia.  And every action Detroit has taken to get to this point has been done voluntarily.  Nobody forced Detroit to be the petri dish of the Democrat Party.  They chose it.  They voted for SIX DECADES of Democrat mayors.  They voted for SIX DECADES of Democrat rule, with all the corruption and evil that goes along with it.

Woke up early this morning.  Went running.  Went to work.  Came home way late.  Went to log in my exercise from this morning, and spent five minutes trying to figure out what route I had run this morning.

Well, that's one lesson, yes.....

Tam says the message delivered by the media during the "Kill the White Hispanic Cracker-ass Racist mob-rule riot" Zimmerman trial was "Stay in the car".

Forget your neighbors' barbecue grills getting overturned and bicycles getting stolen. Don't worry about the graffiti getting sprayed on the neighborhood walls. Ignore the cries of that woman getting stabbed on the apartment steps.

Pull the blinds. You think you're a cop or something?

And yeah, that's one message.  There's another message out there, at least if you've been watching what the Obama Propaganda Corps has been reporting and not reporting on - Shoot, Shovel, and Shut up.  Or if you're in the city then it's Shoot, Scoot, and Shut up.

If you get the police involved, then the Obama regime can use you to gin up racial hatred and ruin your life.  But if you shoot a black kid and it looks like another black kid did it?  "Gosh Officer, I don't know - a car drove by, a bunch of black kids jumped out and shot that poor young black man!"

Nothing.  Crickets.  No media attention, no lawsuits, no hullabaloo, just a collective shoulder shrug and deliberate blindness.

Otherwise how can you explain the Obama Propaganda Corps lack of reporting on the gun violence and hundreds of murders in Chicago, while whipping up racial hatred into a frenzy non-stop over the Kill Whitey Riots Zimmerman Trial?  How many people were shot and killed by blacks in Chicago over the 4th of July weekend?

Black on black crime?  Non-story.  It won't even make page sixteen, much less Page One.

So, when my neighbor is being attacked?  Shoot, scoot, and shut up.  "No, I don't have a pistol.  No, I didn't see anything.  Yes, I heard gunshots, and I called 911 and stayed in my house until the cops showed up.  All I heard after the gunshots was heavy bass and a trunk rattling from the music.  Have a nice night, officer."

Hell, I doubt even the Police would give it more than a cursory thought.  Ain't worth their time.  There will be another crime just like it next week.  Or tomorrow.  And nobody gives a shit.

Is this post harsh?  Hell yes.  And it needs to be.  Until we confront the reality of the situation, we can't change it.

I know that someone out there knows this

I remember reading that people are actually lighter when they are at high altitudes, and the main reason given is "greater distance from center of mass of the Earth" (inverse square law, and all, dontchaknow?), but wouldn't part of the effect be due to an equivalently increased centripetal force from planetary rotation? The higher you are above sea level, the greater the radius of rotation that point would have to go through in any given 24-hour period.

It is similar to the old math puzzle where you are given a length of string long enough to circle the equator, and then asked how much more string you would have to have tied onto the end to be able to suspend the string exactly one foot above the surface, all the way around the roughly 25,000 mile long equator. (Hint: Unless you know the answer, you WILL overestimate the amount needed.)

Answer: Highlight here if you want to know -- roughly 6' 3-1/2". The reason is because the 25,000 miles is around a planet with a diameter of roughly 8,000 miles, using the C=pi*D (circumference = diameter times 3.141592653+ ), and adding a foot above the equator is only adding two feet to the diameter, and 2 x 3.141592653 = 6.283185306+, or roughly 75 1/2". I'm taller than that.  End of answer.

Anyhow, for every foot above sea level you get, you will be traveling that extra distance every 24 hours (added onto the roughly 1,050 mph the people on the equator are already doing -- 25,000 miles every 24 hours), and the slight extra lift they get would make them weight just a trifle less.

You ever work out real hard

And end up with this white ring on the sweat stain on your clothing?  You know what that is?  Salt.

Funny thing about salt.  You need it to live.  I've never paid much heed to the government when it shrieks like a little schoolgirl about various foods.  Eggs used to be bad for you.  Now they're good.  Carbs used to be the big thing you should eat, but anyone with a basic knowledge of chemistry and anatomy knows that carbs, if unused, turn into fat.

Now, about that salt....

A recent report commissioned by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) reviewed the health benefits of reducing salt intake and the take-home message is that salt, in the quantities consumed by most Americans, is no longer considered a substantial health hazard. What the CDC study reported explicitly is that there is no benefit, and may be a danger, from reducing our salt intake below 1 tsp per day. What was absent about the report was is the difference between healthy mineral salts and iodized table salt.

It may be that we’re better off with more salt than less, up to 2 or even 3 tsp per day. How did it happen that such standard medical advice drifted astray, then went un-corrected for so long?

Yeah, funny thing about salt - without it, you're SCREWED.  And the fat bastards out there who chow down on an entire bag of Fritos have more to worry about than their salt content, let me tell you.

And if I've offended any of my entire-bag-of-Fritos-eating readers out there?  Look, take one of those Fritos, and light it on fire.  It's going to burn.  Because of the sheer amount of OIL that is in those things.  And you're eating an entire bag in one sitting?  Your funeral.  It's not the salt you need to be worried about.

Fat Kids

Left work today - saw a girl, no older than ten, who was so fat she couldn't walk normally.  She had to waddle.

Mom and Dad were rotund as well.  A Latino family.  It's actually a common sight around LA.  I don't know why.

I've seen a guy walking down the street on multiple occasions on my way to work - huge.  Has to tip the scales at at least 350, and the only reason he's walking is because he's so young that the damage hasn't been completely done yet.

For being a sunny, Southern California city, this place has more than it's fair share of huge people. 

No observations other than that.  It's going to be a hell month for me.

Dwight Howard, and a spoiled bitch scorned

Had to be out on the road for the first half of today, so I turned on the radio and flipped to the sports channels while I drove.

Ho.  Lee.  Shite.

You want to talk vitriol?  The various LA-based sports talkers are howling about Dwight Howard since he turned down the LA Lakers and went to Houston.  The very same people who were singing his praises a few months ago are now calling him everything but a white boy.  He can't play.  He can't score.  He can't make free throws.  He can't handle LA.  He can't handle the spotlight.  He can't handle the pressure of being "The Guy".  Blah blah blah on and on and on.  All while some of the banners that the team had hung up around LA are still there begging Howard to stay.

You want to know what LA reminds me of right now?  LA reminds me of a girl who used to be "The Girl".  Hot, always got who and what she wanted, but a right royal bitch.  And now that she's pretty much used up, all she has left is some looks and the same bitchy attitude, and the guy she's been chasing for her prom date just turned her down and picked a different girl.  And so because there's really nothing the spoiled bitch can do to really improve herself, she has to try to tear the guy down in pubic.

That's the Los Angeles Lakers.  A used up spoiled bitch who can't handle the fact that the guy they were begging to go to the prom with said "No."

Seriously, why should Dwight Howard have stayed with LA?  The roster is old, broken, and not going to get any better.  It'll be two years before they can really contend for a title.  They don't have the cap space to bring in any free agents.  Kobe Bryant is an asshole.  Oh yes, a talented asshole, but an asshole none the less.  Who was it that got Shaq kicked out of LA?  Kobe Bryant.  One of the top centers to ever play the game, but Kobe Bryant threw his shit-fit, and out the door Shaq went.  Kobe has talent and drive.  He has dedication.  But he does not have, nor has he ever had, leadership ability.  I think Dwight Howard could have been convinced to stay, but Kobe pretty much put the kibosh on that.

"But Dave, Howard could have gotten paid $30 million more by the Lakers!"  Yep, and had it all eaten away by the ungodly high Kalifornia state taxes.  And folks, can I be blunt?  LA is a shithole.  A hot, sticky, smelly, nasty shithole where cars disappear into the potholes on the 405 and the beaches can't be accessed unless you feel like walking a couple of miles from your parking spot.  A shithole where there are sections you don't drive through unless you feel like losing your car, your wallet, or your life.  Or all of the above, if your skin color isn't the correct shade.  A shithole where you can spend hours sitting in a traffic jam, only to find out it's because caused by ABSOLUTELY NOTHING other than the cranial-rectal impaction of the LA drivers.  A shithole where the air can be brown on any given day.  A shithole where temperatures reach the triple digits, but good luck paying the electric bill when you run the A/C.  Not that Howard would have to worry about that too much, but still.  When you can't go outside for more than half an hour before you're in danger of heat stroke?  Screw that noise.

In my opinion, the only thing LA really has going for it is awesome Korean food.  But besides that?  Nada.  This place is a shithole.  I don't blame Dwight Howard for leaving.  Not one bit.

Michael Waller then "conspired among themselves to force Anthony Mitchell out of his residence and to occupy his home for their own use."      The complaint continues: "Defendant Officer David Cawthorn outlined the defendants' plan in his official report: 'It was determined to move to 367 Evening Side and attempt to contact Mitchell. If Mitchell answered the door he would be asked to leave. If he refused to leave he would be arrested for Obstructing a Police Officer. If Mitchell refused to answer the door, force entry would be made and Mitchell would be arrested.'"

You want to know why I'm anti-gay marriage?  I mean, let's set religion aside, shall we, because before I got deeper into my faith I was still anti-gay marriage.

I am anti-gay marriage because when the topic first came up, and I asked why we should change one of the pillars of civilization, and what affect that would have, the response was "FUCK YOU BIGOT!"

And right then, I knew that the people pushing for gay marriage didn't really want it for the reasons stated.

Y'know, that's a good point

I just read a comment that asks "Why isn't this immigration amnesty-or-bust bill being shoved down out throats considered an ex post facto law?"

I mean, isn't it making the illegal acts of the past (the violation of various State and Federal laws regarding immigration and registration) no longer illegal and forgiving those who violated those laws, even though they KNEW they were violating the law when they committed the act(s)?

It isn't simply changing the laws, it is making those who are criminals into non-criminals long after the illegal act(s), and that is a specific violation of the Constitution (Article I, Section 9) (and the Founders thought such nonsense was important enough to ban the possibility to both the Federal Government (Article 9) AND the various States (Article 10), long before the passage of the 14th Amendment's "incorporation" clause).

So we have the Senate writing a law that is prima facie unconstitutional. And anything - and I DO mean "anything" - put out by the House will get sucked into committee, and come out as amnesty anyways. Barky will sign it, of course, with lots of people-of-color standing behind him to use as media fodder ("Who could possibly be against a law that helps all these guaranteed Democrat voters, I mean, poor struggling immigrants?"), John Roberts will find some way to call it a tax, and the deck chairs will look much nicer arranged this way, don't you think?

I managed to track down an online word-counter, and it reports that the freakin' RECIPE for "COOKIES, OATMEAL; AND BROWNIES; COCOLATE [sic] COVERED", fercrissake, is 13,112 words.

  • Palin would not have dismissed the Black Panther intimidation lawsuit that the government had already won.
  • Palin would not have seized two auto companies and give them to her cronies in and out of the UAW.
  • Palin and her supporters would not be claiming that her opponents were racists for disagreeing with her policies.
  • Palin would not have tried to block Boeing from building a factory in South Carolina as a gift to her union buddies in Washington state.
  • Palin would not have toured the world apologizing for America.
  • Palin’s Homeland Security Department would not have classified patriots as security threats.
  • Palin would have expanded oil and gas exploration on federal lands instead of reducing it, make the US even less dependent on foreign oil.
  • Palin would not have allowed the Pigford suit to be settled that gives billions of dollars to “farmers” that never farmed.

In other news, it's National Bourbon Day.  Talk about two days that go together like peas and carrots.

You want a Guest Worker Program?

Here's what you do.  You get some LiveScan devices, which take fingerprints electronically and scan them into a database to check for criminal activity on the part of the fingerprint's owners.  You set them up around the city. 

You create a card for Guest Workers.  It identifies them as a citizen of a foreign country (Mexico, Guatemala, etc).  It quite plainly states that they are not a citizen of the USA, nor can they become one while only a guest worker.  If they want to be a citizen, they get in line with everyone else.

You then put out a message that in six months, if you don't have a Guest Worker card, you're getting deported if the police find you.

You LiveScan every illegal alien who comes in to get a Guest Worker card.  If they don't have a criminal background, they get the card, and we get to know who is in our country.  If they do have a criminal background, they get a one-way ticket to where ever they came from.

The Guest Worker cards are good for six months.  If they want another six months, they get another LiveScan check to make sure they haven't committed any criminal acts.  As long as they're clean, they can get an extension.  And we continue to know who is in our country.  If they've committed a felony or serious misdemeanor (DUI and the like) then they get the fuck out.  Take them to the border, and push them over.  Their continued presence in this country is contingent upon them FOLLOWING THE LAW.  So long as they follow the law, they can renew the Guest Worker card for years on end if they want to.

The Guest Worker card is tied to a tax database.  They work here, they pay taxes into our system.  Don't like it, then don't come here.

The Guest Worker card is not a drivers license.  If they want to drive, they take the driving test just like everybody else.  If they aren't safe, and having driven in Latin countries myself I think I can safely say that most won't pass on the first try, then they don't get a license.  If they actually bother to learn and follow our rules and pass the test, they get a license.  A driver's license is not a Guest Worker card.  Both would be revoked if the worker is convicted of a crime that would get him deported.

I keep hearing these idiots crying about how we can't find and deport 11 million illegal aliens (which is absolute bullshit, by the way, since the NSA can keep tabs on just about anybody as we're finding out).  Well, we can't make them citizens either, not without a huge, damaging cost to our society and our government.  So don't deport them.  Make sure they'll never become citizens while they are here illegally, come up with ways to find out who they are, and get rid of the hard core criminals.  Make them come to use and prove who they are.  "Alright Pedro, you're clean, here's your card, now go do what you do and be happy."

Start the program in the cities.  Expand it to the borders, so we can control the flow of people who come in.  Once a person is in the database and have their Guest Worker card, all they need to do is get a fingerprint scan to verify who they are, and then walk across the border.  When Muhammad Death To America Kalid comes in, we can stop him.  To be honest, if Muhammad Death To America Kalid is crossing the Mexican border, and doesn't have a stamp of the Mexican government on his passport, we turn him over to Mexico.  "Hey there!  This guy was in your country illegally!  Just thought you might like to tell him how upset you are!"  And then watch Mexico's illegal immigration system go to work, which may or may not allow Mr. Death To America Kalid to live for very long.

Seem logical?  The chance of this being done in Congress is just about zero, seeing as how it doesn't stroke the ego or bank account of the congressvermin currently pushing the Illegal Immigrant Amnesty Act down our throats.

Poking that wasp nest

So Og has a running "debate", if you can call people running by and throwing mean words at him a "debate", with a few folks over at his place.  One topic that is repeatedly coming up is gay marriage and how Christians aren't "tolerant".  So here's what I said:

Funny thing about tolerance; when you tolerate something, you’re putting up with it despite the fact that whatever action or object you tolerate is considered “wrong”

When you tolerate something, you are in effect saying that you are willing to put up with x, y, or z despite the fact that it is wrong/evil/unnecessary, because correcting the wrong/evil/unnecessary thing would possibly cause more harm that just tolerating it.

So when I’m told that I have to tolerate gay marriage, I’m being told that gay marriage is by definition wrong, but that not allowing it is more wrong that tolerating it.

You don’t tolerate things that are good. You don’t tolerate things that are beneficial. You tolerate things that are harmful, wrong, or evil. 

 How long till I get called a bigot?

How many people died because of Bradley Manning?

No, that's not a false question:  Manning leaked hundreds of thousands of documents to Wikileaks, documents that contained information about our actions in Afghanistan, including the people who worked with us.

You think the Taliban didn't scoop that information up? 

You think the Taliban didn't act on that information?

Do you really think the people who torture and murder innocent children in order to control their parents as a matter of strategy, didn't take that information and hunt down the people who spoke with or worked with with the US military?  

HOW MANY PEOPLE DIED BECAUSE OF BRADLEY MANNING?

So while the ProgNazis of the Left get their panties moist at the very sight of Manning, and wail about how he's innocent, just ask yourself that one question.  How many deaths is he responsible for, both Afghani deaths at the hands of the Taliban who used his leaked info, and American deaths caused because the people who used to give us intel on Taliban movements either would not or could not give us any more.  Chances are we'll never know the true death toll.  But don't bullshit yourself into thinking that toll doesn't exist.

If he spends the rest of his life at Ft. Leavenworth breaking big rocks into little rocks, that punishment will only be a a fraction of what he deserves.

I've heard multiple times on the radio that this is not out of the norm, that the FBI and NSA are just collecting data but they need a warrant to search it, and that "safeguards" are in place.

And had this happened in a government of the people and for the people, I wouldn't be worried.  But given that Obama the Nazi is willing to use the power of the government against his political enemies? 

Fuck.  That.  Shit.

The government cannot be trusted with large amounts of data on it's citizens, as it has proven time and time again that it will use it to attack those citizens.

The Internal Revenue Service has failed to turn over documents requested by the powerful Senate tax-writing panel, which is investigating the tax agency's practice of targeting conservative organizations.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the panel's top Republican, gave the IRS a May 31 deadline to answer dozens of questions related to the special scrutiny the agency was giving to right-leaning groups seeking tax-exempt status.
But the troubled IRS let the deadline go by.

Just like the rest of the fascist Obama regime, the IRS thinks it doesn't have to follow the rules.  And it's time to do away with the entire organization, because they've proven they cannot be trusted at any level.  The rot that runs through the IRS is total and complete.

I think we should hang that number all over the IRS.  "88" is a number used by the neo-Nazi faction to identify themselves, as "H" is the eighth number in the alphabet, and there by "88" stands for "HH", or "Heil Hitler".  And since the IRS is now essentially the Democrat party's Brownshirts, used by the Left to harass and attack conservatives. I think that pinning the number "88" on them at every opportunity is just....  appropriate.

In its latest effort to protect followers of Islam in the U.S. the Obama Justice Department warns against using social media to spread information considered inflammatory against Muslims, threatening that it could constitute a violation of civil rights.

Freedom of Speech?  That's so last century.

Oh, and for the record, Islam is a "religion" of backwards, pedophile, 13th century barbarians that is inconsistent with modern civilization.

The Possible Future of Health Care in America

No insurance.  Cash on the barrel.  Cheaper, better health care.

Dr. Michael Ciampi took a step this spring that many of his fellow physicians would describe as radical.

The family physician stopped accepting all forms of health insurance. In early 2013, Ciampi sent a letter to his patients informing them that he would no longer accept any kind of health coverage, both private and government-sponsored. Given that he was now asking patients to pay for his services out of pocket, he posted his prices on the practice’s website.

The change took effect April 1.

But the decision to do away with insurance allows Ciampi to practice medicine the way he sees fit, he said. Insurance companies no longer dictate how much he charges. He can offer discounts to patients struggling with their medical bills. He can make house calls.

“I’m freed up to do what I think is right for the patients,” Ciampi said. “If I’m providing them a service that they value, they can pay me, and we cut the insurance out as the middleman and cut out a lot of the expense.”
If people actually knew what their health care cost, and how much insurance pays the doctors, and how much of a financial burden insurance and government regulations are to the health care industry, they might just begin to understand what's wrong with the health care system in this country.  I expect a lot more doctors to go this route and Obamacare begins to destroy the current health care system.  As more doctors practice under the bootheel of the government, more and more of them are going to try to find a way out.

"Mating Deception"

So says this essay, which I can't find too many things to argue with.  It's all about putting on that facade, to make women find interest in you.  Or men, I guess, although generally it's women who care about how much a guy makes, not the other way around.

Now....  let me ask this question - exactly what kind of a mate are you trying to attract if you're putting out the false flag of financial force?

Back when I lived in Seattle, I listed to the Tom Lykis show quite a bit.  And his stated goal was to get men laid.  Not exactly something to aspire to if you have morals, but still....  millions of listeners, and his advice got 'em laid, so Lykis obviously had something going.  And just about every bit of advice he gave with his "Lykis 101" hour revolved about using women's base instincts against them to get into their pants.  One of the tips he used to give was to withdraw as much money at one time as you can from an ATM, and then put the money right back into your banking account.  BUT....  you kept the receipt from your withdrawal in your wallet, and at just the right moment, you "accidentally" drop it where the young lady you wish to get intimate with will see it.

Worked like a charm, from what I could see.  I was dating the Ragin' Mrs. at that point, so I didn't go out clubbing or trying to get laid, but Lykis had a huge following in Seattle, and his pointers worked.  They worked because there are enough women out there who allow those base instincts to control them, and that allows men to control the women.

If you're attracting women by putting out a show of wealth, guess what kind of women you're going to attract?  Hmmmmmm.......

As for me, the Ragin' Mrs. married me when I was dirt poor, so I don't have to worry about her trying to get my cash.  Hell, my goal has been to improve our situation every year, so that by the time I retire we'll be richer than we ever were.
