Your government at "work"

Re-instating a woman who essentially embezzled $130k or so....

A Department of Veterans Affairs official who was demoted after allegedly stealing thousands of taxpayer dollars from the agency was quietly reinstated to her position earlier this week.
Kimberly Graves, former head of a VA regional office in Minnesota, appeared before the Merit Systems Protection Board Wednesday to appeal the VA's decision to strip her of her title in the wake of a scathing inspector general report. That report found Graves had pressured a colleague to leave his job so she could manipulate an employee relocation program and pocket nearly $130,000.

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to what would happen to me if I jacked $130k through less than savory means?

Yeah.  I'd be in Club Fed at Fort Leavenworth, contemplating my upcoming dishonorable discharge and forfeiture of all pay and benefits.  But Kimberly Graves and her pal Diana Rubens, who between them pocketed over $400k?

Do you know how many Soldiers we could have with $400k?  Or hell, just saving the damn money, since we're trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars in debt?

But noooooooooo, these two butch-looking harridans jack the government for almost half a million dollars, and they don't even lose their jobs.

This country is toast.  We can't even fire these people.  They will still be there.  They will still be drawing a government paycheck.  Fuck them.  Fuck the whole lot of them, let them die screaming, and spend eternity choking on the barbed cock of Satan.

"President Obama's f**king wrong!"

Yeah, I don't think too many people in Indiana like the Stuttering Clusterfuck of Miserable Failure.

I know you'll never be able to get the people who hate the 2nd Amendment to watch this, but you should, just so that you can laugh in the face of the next person who blubbers about the "gunshow loophole".

Back in my old stomping grounds

Might be light posting for a bit.  Meeting old friends.  Drinking much scotch.  Smoking many cigars. Repeat.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Maybe YOU Won't Edition

From According to Hoyt (Don't know if Sarah wrote it or one of her people who occasionally co-blog)

In some blog, long ago, in the comments section, someone said that if the left got what it wanted, it would backfire so badly we’d be hunting them with dogs and beating them to death with their “no blood for oil” signs.  I think it’s going to be worse than that.  I think it’s going to be so bad that the rest of us are not even going to enjoy it.  Even if they brought this on themselves, by creating an enemy they thought they’re prefer to confront, an enemy that didn’t exist outside their lies.

Yes, some people won't enjoy it.  Some people will.  Those are the people who you need to keep an eye on, and make sure they're on YOUR side.

For every time the media wants to shove a muslim in our faces

to say "But what do you say to reassure us?  We're peaceful!"

The Peaceful Majority is irrelevant.

Time to re-post this.

Debate or slap-fight?

The moderators are going after the candidates.  The candidates are going after the candidates.  Kasich  (is that how it's spelled? I don't care enough to check) has floppy hands, who had a father that was a milkman, or maybe a mailman.

Rubio trying to talk tough about immigration after his Gang of 8 bullshit is like the Charlie Brown teacher going "Waah wah, waawaa WAAAH wah!"

What's Danish for "Wake the f**k UP!"

Because if this were happening in my town, either the perps or the cops who covered it up would go missing.

Denmark recorded an average of 395 rape cases every year up to 2014. But an investigation by the Ministry of Justice has revealed the actual number to be closer to 1,100 annually, Metroxpress reported on Thursday.

The police in Cologne covered up the number of sexual assaults that happened on New Year's Eve.  The police in Sweden covered up sexual assaults and rape.  And Denmark is covering up rapes.

And why?  To cower and cringe before a murdering, terrorist-filled, pedophile prophet worshipping religion.

Phaw.  Maybe some cultures need to die out.  They certainly seem more than willing to commit suicide.

Listening to talk radio on the road

And Trump is staying away from the Fox News debate.

Good.  Honestly.  I don't know if it'll help him or hurt him.  But I won't have to listen to vague statements like "I know good people, let me tell you, and my guys are gonna be the best, they're gonna be wonderful...."

I'm happy Trump is running.  He's moved entire discussions to the right, away from what the Democrats wanted to talk about.  But I don't know if I could stand to listen to him on the news for four years.

Wandering

By the time you see this I'll probably be somewhere in the Grand Canyon taking a look around.  Pictures, even!

Man, that's a big hole, innit?

Gloria in Excelsis Deo

Appropriate for this Sunday, I think.  Although it's not a mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin, it's still one of the most beautiful Glorias I can remember.

Ladies and Gents, after today I will never set foot in the disgusting, diseased, third-world shit-hole of Los Angeles ever.  Again.  Period.

Light Posting Warning

Gonna be content free for a few days.  Life will go on.  Check out the sidebar!

So now Glenn Frey is gone as well

I grew up listening to the Eagles.  But in all reality, their careers were over by the time I entered high school, if not long before.  Out of all the folks who have passed lately I think I'll miss Alan Rickman the most, because he was a delight to watch in any role.

However, I don't know if I'm really broken up about it.  I see lots of people all upset over Bowie, and Rickman, and the other folks who have died lately, while my reaction has been one more of "Oh damn, that sucks."

I think it's because A) as a Catholic, I don't believe that death is the end.  It's just a transition.

And B)  People die.  Careers die, and I think Glenn Frey's career died long before he did.  That doesn't mean I don't like his music, or that he didn't have talent; he had tons of talent, and I've spent hours singing along to a lot of his songs.  But there's new music coming out every day.  I'll be quoting Alan Rickman until the day I die (....and CALL OFF CHRISTMAS!") but there are other actors still making a name for themselves who I'll enjoy next year.

Life is a cycle.  The world keeps turning.  Nothing we can do will stop that.

Thank God

Reality prevails.

The U.S. Air Force has decided to indefinitely postpone the retirement of the legendary A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack plane. The venerable Warthog's increased role in the air campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria was the Pentagon's main reason for the postponement.

There is no other aircraft in the US inventory that can do what the A-10 does, period.  And what it does is save the ass of the US military man on the ground, time and time again, getting in low and slow before pounding the ever-loving shit out of the bad guys.

I posted a video on the A-10 back in 2008.  Seems like a good time to link to it.  I tried to repost the vid here, but that didn't work too well for me, although the video works in the original post.

Seahawks are out

You can't give up 31 points in the first half, folks.  Maybe try whatever you were doing in the second half, but in the first half?

Yeah.  Poop.  Now it's six months of no football..
