Afghanistan not falling apart

Granted, it ain't Wiakiki Beach, but if you listen to the MSM, Afghanistan is a hellhole about to sink below the Earth's crust into Hell.

The reality is something much, much different.

May 24, 2006: The last two weeks have seen an ambitious Taliban offensive shot to pieces. As many as a thousand Taliban gunmen, in half a dozen different groups, have passed over the Pakistani border, or been gathered within Afghanistan, and sent off to try and take control of remote villages and districts. The offensive was a major failure, with nearly half the Taliban getting killed, wounded or captured. Afghan and Coalition casualties were much less, although you wouldn't know that from the mass media reports (which made it all look like a Taliban victory). The Taliban faced more mobile opponents, who had better intelligence. UAVs, aircraft and helicopters were used to track down the Taliban, and catch them. Thousands of Afghan troops and police were in action, exposing some of them to ambush, as they drove to new positions through remote areas.

The good news is not that we're killing the bad guys. The good news is that the AFGHANISTAN MILITARY is killing the bad guys, something that the MSM doesn't want you to know, something that the MSM is going to attempt to prevent you from learning. They don't want you to know that Afghanistan, while not a tourist hotspot, is not a pit of hellish warfare.

The Afghan and British governments are both accusing Pakistan of looking the other way as Taliban groups set up shop and openly operate in Pakistani border areas. Pakistan denies this, but anyone who is bold enough to travel to these areas, will see evidence of Taliban presence (including enforcement of conservative Islamic lifestyle practices.) In truth, the Pakistani government has never controlled many areas along the border, and is only now, for the first time in its history, trying to exert control.

When the USA buddied up to Pakistan, it was for pragmatic reasons. We needed (and still need) help destroying al Queda. We've caught some of the big fish in al Queda with Pakistan's help, including the #3 man in charge of operations. Who was captured IN Pakistan, by Pakistani troops and our boys working together. But we also need to keep in mind that there is a huge segment of Pakistan's population who has more in common with the turbaned tumblefucks than with any kind of modern world. Remember a few months ago when we bombed a house in Pakistan, trying to kill some high level terrorist poo-bahs? We didn't get the people we wanted, but that was because the terrorists we were aiming for showed up late, and thus escaped the bombs. However, we DID get some of the lower level al Queda goathumpers, and the fact that these people in the hills of Pakistan were inviting the upper-level al Queda turds shouldn't surprise anyone. The reason we support President Musharaff is because he's the lesser of two evils, not because he's some great liberating force in the Middle East.

May 21, 2006: Coalition forces found that about a hundred Taliban gunmen were staying at a religious school near Kandahar in southern Afghanistan. Smart bombs hit the school in the middle of the night, but several dozen of the Taliban fled to nearby homes. As Afghan and Coalition forces closed in, the surviving Taliban fired back from nearby homes. So smart bombs were used on the homes as well, which killed about 16 civilians and wounded another twenty. Over 80 Taliban were killed, with no Afghan army or Coalition dead. The Taliban promptly spun their use of civilian homes, as human shields, as a Coalition atrocity.

The quote I remember most about this incident is the Afghan Defense Minister telling the people of Afghanistan NOT to help the Taliban, because if they do "then this is what happens."

I'd say that the Afghani people have a few less moral inhibitions than we Americans do, eh?

I hate it when Blogspot is weak

Sheesh

Why the hell did this guy have all this information in his damn HOUSE?!?!

"Hmmmm, let's see here.... I have the Social Security Numbers, Names, and Birth Dates of over TWENTY-SIX MILLION VETERANS here in this e-file. What should I do with it? Let's see.... Keep it locked up at work? Nah. Put it in a safe place? Nah. Gosh, I think I'll take it home with me so a fucking BURGLAR CAN STEAL IT FROM MY HOME! Yeah, that's a GREAT idea!"

If the employee isn't fired yet, I want to know why. This isn't just negligence, this is CRIMINAL negligence, and if any veterans end up effected because of this asshole, the Dept. of Veteran's Affairs needs to make sure everything is put right.

Of course, I'm not holding my breath on any of this. Being a federal employee means never having to say you're sorry if you completely screw up other people's lives. Gah. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Oh, and if your outrage quotient hasn't been filled up, check out this piece in the Examiner.

You would think members of Congress would learn from the onslaught of public outrage generated last year when the nation first heard about wasteful boondoggles like the "?Bridges to Nowhere"? earmark for Alaska. But just when they seemed to have taken a step forward last week, we find out they also took a giant leap backward.

First, the good news. The House of Representatives adopted on a voice vote an amendment offered by Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J., that limits official attendance at the overseas conference junkets so popular with federal civil servants. The Garrett measure says no more than 50 employees of the U.S. Department of Interior or the Environmental Protection Agency can attend such conferences at one time. The Senate still must approve the measure and President Bush must sign it for it to become law.

Interior Department officials admitted in a letter last year to Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., that they don'?t know how many employees actually attend such conferences, which are often conveniently held in attractive vacation spots around the world. Even so, the Interior officials estimated that their department spent $6.2 million on overseas conferences attended by 30 or more Interior staffers in 2004. At EPA, the estimate was $22.4 million to send staffers to 400 such conferences.

Stop. Think about those numbers - $6.2 million for the Interior Department. $22.4 Million for the EPA. $28.6 million for two departments alone, sending their employees to nice cushy "conferences".

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?!?!?!

And then there is this: Most cheered earlier this month when the House approved a lobbying reform bill that included provisions requiring greater public disclosure of earmarks and names of the members seeking them. But then people started looking at the fine print and discovered lots of earmark loopholes. That means lots of representatives were playing a legislative game of three-card Monte.

On the one hand, many of these representatives stood before America and crowed about the importance of lobbying reforms. On the other, they were busily inserting exceptions like the one that exempts from disclosure the identity of the author of an earmark that directs tax dollars to a federal agency. About half of the thousands of earmarks approved in recent years would thus be exempted from public knowledge!

That's a favorite tactic of Congress - make a law, then exempt themselves from that law. Just another reason why we should bulldoze the Capitol Building with all the congresscritters inside it, and start over.

There'?s another huge loophole that can exempt from disclosure the authors of earmarks directing tax dollars to state and local governments. Example? Funding for Alaska'?s infamous bridges goes to the state government, which means if the lobbying reform were in effect last year, we probably would never have heard about that boondoggle.

This sort of legislative sleight-of-hand was properly condemned by Republicans when they were the minority before 1994. Now it appears many of them have learned to love playing three-card Monte with our tax dollars.

I say it's time to start kicking the incumbants out of their seats during the primaries. Maybe if we flush the waste, we can get some decent people in Congress.

But considering how long Ted (hic) Kennedy has been in office, I don't see that happening any time soon.

The more I see my government in action, the more I want to seceed from the Union. The more I see of Congress, the more I see that the people in Congress are nothing but rancid turds dressed up in suits, voting to give them a bigger cesspool to swim in.

I really don't know what I'm going to do this November. I hear people shrieking "DON'T LET THE DEMOCRATS BACK IN POWER!" and they all bring up good points for why we should keep a republican majority. But looking at the Republicans in office, I don't know if I could vote for them without vomiting. But voting for a Democrat right now would make me puke so hard I'd probably snap my own spine with my convulsions. Democrats are the sarin gas of politics.

I'm hoping the Republicans give me a reason to vote for them before November.

Michelle Malkin chases her tail

Her book is described on Amazon as follows:

The spewing of vitriol, epithets and wild conspiracy theories suggest a collective nervous breakdown among liberals...This syndrome...is democratic (small d), affecting stuffed-donkey clutching college students and seasoned congressmen and journalists whose overweening diatribes and hand-wringing Malkin has seized to illustrate an emotionally charged and irrational hatred of everything conservative.
Malkin has now become the very epitome of the foaming and irrational chucklehead she derides in her book. Here she reports the story of a Guatemalan immigrant with an expired visa who killed a woman in New York in April 2005. At trial, the accused asks the Court: "Forgive me."

Malkin's dart:

"Forgive me."

Well, that's exactly what Bush and the bipartisan open-borders water-carriers in Washington would have done if this "undocumented worker" hadn't been caught...

Something for Dave

Go'head, buddy, click it!

Venezuela Weighs Selling U.S. Jets to Iran

Chavez colors wayyyyyyyyyy outside the lines and I have to admit I kind of admire that in a leader. He's a special kind of Fascist.

One of you is messing with me, right?

I mean, a week ago I post about how Protein Wisdom gets all the good hate mail, and two days ago I get an email from one Ken Hoop, who tells me:

One ,most of Hussein's "atrocities" to which you refer
occured when he was a chum of the US doing our
bidding,as when he attacked Iran with our help and
even anthrax! Rumsfeld took part in this.

Two, Rumsfeld admitted two weeks ago, in his
confrontation with Ray McGovern, ex-CIA man, that
"apparently there were no WMDs in Iraq"....

And then Ken links to some anti-war website full of so much propaganda and half-truths that I can only chuckle. Oh, and Ken is insisting that Ray McGovern was a "conservative". Ken also likes to claim that he's a "Rightist".

Right. So I shoot an email back, mostly polite, expressing my opinion of Ray McGovern and the "There were no WMD's" meme. Yesterday, I get this diatribe from Ken:

You're GD right I take Ray's word over the lying
neocon Rumsfeld, of a guy who identified himself
as a Conservative Republican who was Bush Srs.
chief intelligence advosor! (McGovern)

If McGovern no longer identifies himself as a
conservative its because you guys let the
Zionist Lobby neocons take your brand over.

Did you get that? IT'S ALL THE FAULT OF THE JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!

Ken then goes on to quote Hans Blix and Scott Ritter. Scott Ritter! I guess Ken has been living in a cave for the past few years. So I email him back, expressing in the most polite terms just what I thought of his arguments. I also told him that I'd be posting whatever he sent next for our reader's amusement, and this morning I get a spittle-flecked rant in my inbox - so disjointed and raving that even excerpting it requires effort. Seriously, Ken went from pretending to be sane, to sheer lunacy in a matter of three days. For the record, Ken's responses to me are ****included in the asterisks**** and bolded, just so you can feel the psychosis rolling out of him.

Seriously, you honestly believe there's such a thing as a Zionist Lobby neocon? Please. Put the bong down. Step away from the crack. Whatever you're smoking, stop it. I'm actually getting embarassed FOR you. You're not a rightist, you're just an
anti-semite.**You're a goy puppet for Jewish racists**** There's a reason Pat Buchanan has been marginalized,****there's a reason why the US is
getting its ass whipped in Iraq, and why chickenhawks like you don't much care****
and that reason is because he's a nutcase who the networks keep around to get good soundbites from. Why bother with logic and facts when "IT'S THE JEWS' FAULT!" is so much easier, right?
***********************************************
**Perle, Wolfowitze and Feith are the chief architects of the war, as the Mearsheimer paper "THE LOBBY" reveals, foolish chickenhawkAlso Likud Party
activists**********************

Can you feel the insanity? Ken also calls me "chickenhawk", "chickyhawky", or "chickybaby" no less than six times. Apparently, along with the inability to read more than what his kool-aid making masters feed him, Ken can't do any kind of research on who he's sending email to. Ken ends his last email with this:

****IF YOU HAD ANY PERSONAL BLOOD AT RISK IN THE WAR YOU MIGHT TALK DIFFERENTLY, CHICKENHAWK PUSSY. BACK IN THE BARNYARD ,BEND OVER, LET THE REAL
HAWKS HAVE AT YA'

*****

At this point, I'm laughing so hard that I can barely see my computer screen, much less type a response! And to top it off, Ken is now sending me email links to various leftist screeds, all the while calling me chickenhawk or other seeming insults. To make it even better, he's doing it with names like "Euroman" and "tradcon". I eventually managed to stop laughing long enough to email him a response, albeit not a very polite one. I mean, to have someone calling themselves a "rightist" while hollaring "VIETNAMQUAGMIREDEFEATZIONISTCHICKENHAWKNEOCON!" is just too damn rich. And I don't know about you, but getting called a "goy puppet of Jewish racists" makes my day!

And I admit, I keep poking at him, like a kid poking at a toad with a stick. I'm wondering how much more I can get him worked up before his little tin-foil covered head explodes.

Anyways, just a little taste of what's been coming into my inbox for the past few days. Is one of you messing with me? Tim, TVE, are you getting anythink from him? Because you can't even do satire on a guy like this. How can you mock someone who debases himself past any mockery you can put out? He's so far out in Left field that you can't make anything up that would be half as funny as he already is.

Heh. It's time for some coffee. I wonder what response I'll get from him today. I'll keep everyone posted.

UPDATE: The loon actually emailed me back! And guess who he's quoting now?

JOHN MURTHA! HAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

JOHN MURTHA! Oh god, my sides are killing me!

UPDATE #2: Little Kenny boy, having lost all control of his higher thinking functions (to include punctuation and control of the Caps Lock Key), has sent me what might be his final email. See if you can guess which writing is mine, and which writing is his.

ROTC grad? And?

Do you think that military service automaticly makes you conservative? That either shows me how little you know about the military, how little you THINK about the military, or both.

Ray McGovern is the same asshat who proudly sits with Cindy Sheehan and Joe Wilson at press briefings, both outright moonbats who are also on the short list when
it comes to credibility issues. The fact that Ray McGovern calls himself a conservative doesn't mean jack squat to me,

because he's another liar that Leftist like you trot out anytime you try to make a

Hell, you called yourself a Rightist, and I've already

Aesop would be proud

Fables. The Left loves their fables, because when they can spout off with a fable it makes them look smart, and anything that can help make the Left look smart is a good thing in their eyes.

Well, here's a fable for ya. And unlike Leftist wet dreams, this fable actually might learn ya somethin'!

And when you're done reading that fable, which should be taught in every public school in America, scroll on down to this post.

I love Alger, man. And Dolly is the SHIZ-NIT!

Whoa. Flashbacks from Ft. Riley. Sorry bout that.

Yep, I've noticed that too!

I'm not sure that injecting fact into political discussions with lefties does much good. One reason is they tend to rely on other lefties for their ''facts.'' Like this.

The "NO WMD'S! NO WMD'S!" crowd always seemed stunned when I asked them, "Then where the hell are they?". They sputter, get outraged (because Leftists always get outraged) and call me a chickenhawk, but when I point out that Saddam Hussien not only possessed WMD's, he USED THEM ON MANY DIFFERENT OCCASIONS...

Well, Leftists tend to not have an answer for that. Because they got their "NO WMD'S" chant from other Leftists instead of looking at the facts of the matter.

Car wash can't ask status of workers | Chicago Tribune

Chicago:

A federal judge in Chicago has found that a suburban car wash tried to intimidate its mostly Hispanic employees by requiring verification of their immigration status after three workers complained about alleged sexual harassment.
The judge is an appointee of President Clinton.

Have a nice weekend.

Car wash can't ask status of workers | Chicago Tribune

Why do American workers have bad reputations?

At Michelle Malkin's place, yesterday:

As synchonicity would have it, here are two items from today:

About 18 percent of Americans in 2002 said they had a disability, and 12 percent had a severe disability, according to a report released today by the U.S. Census Bureau. Among people with disabilities, more than half of those 21 to 64 years old had a job, more than 4-in-10 of those ages 15 to 64 used a computer at home and a quarter of those age 25 to 64 had a college degree.
Is that a high number?

BREITBART.COM - Census Bureau Report: More Than 50 Million Americans Report Some Level of Disability

And then:

A wheelchair-bound Los Angeles woman, who has repeatedly filed lawsuits over access for the disabled, got up and ran after police arrested her for fraud, authorities said on Thursday.

Laura Lee Medley, 35, had sued in at least four California cities over injuries she claimed she sustained while trying to navigate her wheelchair before she was suspected of fraud.

Medley, who claimed to be paralyzed from a drunk driving accident, was tracked to Las Vegas where police there took her into custody and then, when she complained of medical issues, to a local hospital, Long Beach prosecutor Belinda Mayes said.

'She gets to the hospital and while she's waiting for an examination, she gets up from the chair and runs,' Mayes said. 'Somebody remarked, 'That's where the great miracle occurred.''"

Sorry I haven't been posting much

Life gets busy sometimes, ya know?

Anyways, I just wanted to let people know that I'm still alive. Couple of things in my head to get out, as it were.

First, Jolly Time makes a salsa popcorn now. Good stuff. The wife picked some up, and we've been munching on it. Just spicy enought to make me happy. Not enough to make me beg for milk.

Second - I was taking my NCO to his medical appointment yesterday, as he's new here and doesn't know his way around San Juan yet. Yes, for major medical stuff, we have to go on the economy. It's paid for by the Army of course, but.... well, let's just say that I hope to G-d that I never break a bone here.

Scratch that - I'd be sent to the VA, and that's one of the better hospitals in San Juan. But my wife? Well, you might remember this little three week stay we recently had in San Antonio? Yeah. Ain't no doctor down here was gonna open her back up.

As I was saying, I was taking my sergeant to his medical appointment. It was going to be a while, so I went and got a cup of coffee, and found a place to smoke my pipe while I waited for him. It was during the duty day, so I was in uniform. I found a little bench, settled down with my java and my pipe, and just enjoyed the weather.

I saw a father and son walking up to the building, and the kid waved at me. So I waved back. I'm thinking "Nice kid", and thinking about things I have to do back at the office when the kid stops and whispers something to his dad, and his dad whispers something back, and all the sudden the kid runs over... and shakes my hand.

Every now and then I'm forcefully reminded that the world isn't all Leftists and "progressives". That was one of those moments.

The agenda

I think the GOP have squandered a great chance to set things right, and I know that has pissed a lot of people off, but aftr clicking the above, have you a choice not to vote for Republicans?

Coarse America

"DJ" Fired:

A popular radio personality was fired yesterday after making a series of shockingly ugly, racist and violent on-air remarks - including a threat to sexually molest the young daughter of a rival deejay. The comments by Troi Torain - better known to his listeners on top-rated hip-hop station Power 105 (WWPR-FM) as DJ Star - were so over the top that he could be in hot water with the FCC and the Manhattan district attorney's office.

Torain offered listeners $500 to tell him where the daughter of nemesis DJ Envy, of Hot 97, went to school.

"Yes, I disrespect your seed," Torain ranted. "If you didn't hear me, I said I would like to do an R. Kelly on your seed. On your little baby girl."

Torain, 42, described in graphic detail what he meant by the reference to the R&B singer Kelly, who allegedly committed an unnatural act on an underage girl, a stunt captured on a widely circulated video.

Torain, who warned in his diatribe that he carries a gun, also called the wife of DJ Envy, whose real name is Rashawn Casey, a "whore," a "lo mein eater" and far worse anti-Asian slurs.
Nice.

Can you even imagine sitting at a microphone at a radio station and saying such things?

More:

Casey could not be reached for comment. But his wife, Gia Casey, who appeared at a news conference with several City Council members yesterday, said she's now afraid that her kids could fall prey, if not to Torain, then to a crazed listener.

"I want his job to be yanked from him, and I want Clear Channel to have to be responsible on some level for allowing this to happen," she said. "Because not only have they condoned it, but by condoning it they have promoted it."

Yesterday afternoon, the station suspended him. Hours later, they fired him.

ABA lowers rating on Kavanaugh

Follow the money.

To tie in with TVE's post below....

When it comes to who's winning in Iraq, the only people who think we're losing are the Democrats and their media allies. And to quote Powerline:

And spare us the hate mail: I didn't say it. al Qaeda did.

At the same time, the Americans and the Government were able to absorb our painful blows, sustain them, compensate their losses with new replacements, and follow strategic plans which allowed them in the past few years to take control of Baghdad as well as other areas one after the other. That is why every year is worse than the previous year as far as the MujahidinÂ?s control and influence over Baghdad.

It seems that every day, there's more proof that we are winning in Iraq, while the Donks and the MSM play up American deaths in their desperate attempt to wrest defeat from the jaws of victory. How much longer can the traitorous Left deny what we're doing? How much longer can the surrender-monkey Left ignore the victories that we've accomplished in Iraq and Afghanistan? How much longer.....

Ah, forget it. Right now the Left is a lost cause, amorasss of insanity and delusion, spiraling the drain of irrevelancy and plummeting further and further into the cesspool of forced ignorance and anti-Americanism. Is that harsh? Good. Because words can't explain just how sunk into la-la land the Left has become. Up is down. Black is white. Good is bad. Defeat is victory. When even al Queda knows they're losing, the only excuse the Left has for continuing that meme is such a deep and abiding hatred for America that they'll ignore the plain truth and hide from reality. Anything to get back into power and return America to a UN peacekeeping lapdog.

I don't vote Republican because they're conservative. I vote Republican because to allow the Democrats back into any semblance of power might just sink this country for good.

Mapping Gas versus Bush

Interesting.

And the dozen years of Republican "control" of Congress will pass without reversing any of the policies that drive us to addiction to foreign energy.

In Iraq, Thousands of Construction Projects Completed

How many have you heard about? The Democrat media can report every death at the hands of al Qaeda scum faithfully referred to as "insurgents", but in order to get reports like this we have to rely on conservative websites like National Review and authors like Bill Crawford who brings us another in illuminating series of compendiums on progress made in Iraq. Here's a sample:

Since March 2003, 11,600 construction projects have been started and 9,340 projects valued at $9.3 billion have been completed," said Kathye A. Johnson, director of reconstruction for the Gulf Region Division of the Army Corps of Engineers. "Rebuilding the infrastructure is helping the emergence of democracy and establishing the foundation for a strong economy.

In addition, reconstruction projects have added 1,400 megawatts to the Iraqi power grid and added 1.2 million cubic meters of water per day to the water system. Other progress includes:

— Hours of electric power in all areas of the country except Baghdad are now above prewar levels; U.S.-funded electricity projects have added 2,710 megawatts to Iraq's prewar generation capacity;

— U.S.-sponsored projects have provided potable water to 3.1 million more Iraqis and sewer service to an additional 5.1 million.

— Almost all Iraqi children have been inoculated against a variety of diseases.

— A total of 5,108 schools have been refurbished or repaired and more than 47,000 teachers have been trained.

I know people usually put a "read the whole thing" at the end of their entry, but you'll read what you want. Instead, I'll tell you to SPREAD THIS AROUND. Get it in front of as many eyes as possible because the Democrats, who recoil in horror any time someone mentions how obvious their desire to see the United States fail in Iraq is, don't seem interested in spreading around anything other than the number of soldiers and civilians killed in Iraq since the beginning of the war (the people killed before that point in time in Iraq don't count). If we want people to know how many schools we've built, teachers we've trained, students who are getting an education, hospitals built, supplies delievered, innoculations performed, increases in the amount of electricity available, the amount of potable water, the new sewer systems, roadways, police stations, trained Iraqi soldiers, terrorists killed, terrorists captured, weapons caches found, territory transfered over to Iraqi security forces, or any of the numerous indicators of progress within the country - we're going to have to inform them ourselves. Democrats can't find it within themselves to mention our accomplishments. I don't wonder why.

Jeff gets all the good hate mail

I mean, even when my trolls were at their worst, I never had people writing crap like this about my blogging.

How Goldstein manages to write a response without laughing hard enough to have a stroke, I'll never know.

Well, according to the UN

Those little tramps were asking for it. I mean, they were just DYING to get their hands on some cash!

Aid workers and U.N. peacekeepers are trading food for sex with young girls in Liberian camps housing those left homeless by years of war, an aid group said Monday.

Save the Children, which surveyed nearly 160 children and about 170 adults who were either living in camps or had recently returned home, said they were repeatedly told of girls having sex with older men in exchange for money, food and other goods.

The accused included peacekeeping troops, aid workers and other powerful men in the community. The report did not give the nationality of the aid workers or peacekeepers involved. About 17,000 U.N. peacekeepers are based in Liberia.

Why is it that whenever the UN sends "peacekeepers" who aren't part of NATO forces, you hear about child sex camps, pedophilia, rape, drug running, and all manner of illegal shit?

I mean, it couldn't be because the UN is a group of worthless dictatorial fuckwits, could it?

MORE: And distressingly familiar.

Here's the lesson of the past three years: The UN kills.

In 2003, you'll recall, the US was reviled as a unilateralist cowboy because it and its coalition of the poodles waged an illegal war unauthorised by the UN against a sovereign state run by a thug regime that was no threat to anyone apart from selected ethnocultural groups within its borders, which it killed in large numbers (Kurds and Shia).

Well, Washington learned its lesson. Faced with another thug regime that's no threat to anyone apart from selected ethnocultural groups within its borders which it kills in large numbers (African Muslims and southern Christians), the unilateralist cowboy decided to go by the book. No unlawful actions here. Instead, meetings at the UN. Consultations with allies. Possible referral to the Security Council.

And as I wrote on this page in July 2004: "The problem is, by the time you've gone through the UN, everyone's dead." And as I wrote in Britain's Daily Telegraph in September 2004: "The US agreed to go the UN route and it looks like they'll have a really strongish compromise resolution ready to go about a week after the last villager's been murdered and his wife gang-raped."

Several hundred thousand corpses later Clooney is now demanding a "stronger multinational force to protect the civilians of Darfur".

It doesn't matter how many times the evidence is presented to the Left, they still believe that a corrupt group of thugs, dictators, communists, theocrats and self-appointed "leaders" can help the world more than those nasty, brutish, goose-stepping stormtroopers in US military uniforms. And they're consistently proven wrong, but they never learn the lesson. From kiddy sex-rings, genocide that goes unstopped, drug and weapons-running, the UN does it all. Except help anyone. That would be almost "unilateral".

So who, in the end, does "multinational action" boil down to? The same small group of nations responsible for almost any meaningful global action, from Sierra Leone to Iraq to Afghanistan to the tsunami-devastated Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia and on to East Timor and the Solomon Islands. The same core of English-speaking countries, technically multinational but distressingly unicultural and unilingual and indeed, given that most of them share the same head of state, uniregal. The US, Britain, Australia and Canada (back in the game in Afghanistan) certainly attract other partners, from the gallant Poles to the Kingdom of Tonga.

But, whatever international law has to say on the subject, the only effective intervention around the world comes from ad hoc coalitions of the willing led by the doughty musketeers of the Anglosphere. Right now who's on the ground dragging the reluctant Sudanese through their negotiations with the African Union? America's Deputy Secretary of State Bob Zoellick and Britain's International Development Secretary Hilary Benn. Sorry, George, that's as "multinational" as it's gonna get.

Clooney made an interesting point a few weeks ago. He said that "liberal" had become a dirty word in America and he'd like to change that. Fair enough. But you're never going to do so as long as your squeamishness about the projection of American power outweighs your do-gooder instincts.

If the Left would stop hating this country and what it stands for long enough to realize that good can come out of US military intervention, we could have possibly stopped the genocide in Rwanda and Darfur in it's tracks. But sending troops to a country raises shrieks from the Left like howler monkeys disturbed from their rest by a clear-cutting team of loggers in Panama.

What's the quintessential leftist cause? It's the one you see on a gazillion bumper stickers: Free Tibet. Every college in the US has a Free Tibet society: There's the Indiana University Students for a Free Tibet, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Students for a Free Tibet, and the Students for a Free Tibet University of Michigan Chapter. Everyone's for a free Tibet, but no one's for freeing Tibet. Idealism asinertia is the hallmark of the movement.

Boldface is mine, because I think Steyn hits the nail on the head. Hard. The Left is wonderful about promoting their causes, and Tibet is one of the longest lasting causes they've ever taken up. So what do you think would happen if the US, Britain, Australia and India went into Tibet and finally kicked the ChiComs out once and for all?

The same riots, protests, and claims of imperialism that we've seen for the past five years would happen all over again. Arab street? Hell, the Progressive street would ignite in howls of rage. There would be marches in Seattle, protests in NCY, and riots in San Francisco. Despite all their calls for action, the Left will never authorize action from the US military, because unless military action is undertaken with UN approval, then it's somehow illegitimate. Which is the biggest crock of shit I've ever seen, and it simply proves that the Left, despite all it's claims, is simply unwilling to do what has to be done in order to carry out it's supposed goals. They're hypocrites, spineless jellyfish demanding action and not wanting the action to happen. They want the world to be all rainbows and fluffy bunnies, and then shriek like children when it rains or people breed rabbits in non-PETA approved cages. They use catchy slogans and causes to help them feel good about themselves and allow themselves to sleep at night, but when the rubber hits the road they step on the brakes. They want world peace, and yet oppose removing the people who would bomb the world flat. They claim to want to end the genocide happening in Africa, and yet absolutely will not accept the US military being sent to stop the genocide. Because when you've self-indoctrinated yourself to believe that the US military is the root of all evil, controlled by the evil Bushiter and his oil baron buddies, you simply cannot accept that our troops have done more good for the world than all the UN resolutions combined.

So long as the Left continues to put their blind faith in a corrupt organization controlled by dictators and thugs, instead of in the countries that have actually, ya know, prevented genocide from happening when they've been allowed to, we will continue to see dead bodies piled up. And no amount of posturing or hot air from the likes of George Clooney is going to change that. Stop genocide in Darfur? Gladly, if you would only get out of the way.

I don't see that happening any time soon.

Gosh, who woulda thunk it?

I mean, why in the world would a communist goatscrew want to stay in power?

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chavez said that if opposition parties boycott December's presidential election he would call a referendum asking voters to decide whether he should govern Venezuela for the next 25 years.

Cause' ya know, our old pal Jimmah said that Venezuela's election was free and fair! Just like Saddams!

Speaking Saturday at a stadium packed with supporters in central Lara state, Chavez rejected allegations he was a power-hungry tyrant but said he might seek to extend his rule beyond current term limits if the opposition pulls out of the presidential vote, as it did last year's congressional election.

Now I must admit that I haven't had first hand experience with Venezuela's electoral system, but a guy who intimidates his opponents, rallies around a communist flag, and sucks up to Fidel Castro might not be the most honest guy in the world, ya know.

Chavez supporters won all 167 seats in the National Assembly on Dec. 4 after major opposition parties boycotted the election, saying they did not trust Venezuela's electoral system or the country's elections council. The opposition has raised doubts about the nation's electoral registry, an electronic voting system and electoral audits conducted by the council.

Chavez on Saturday slammed political foes for suggesting that the elections council, which was appointed recently by pro-government lawmakers, is biased in his favor.

Because it's not at all rare for one party to get ALL the votes! It happens all the time! Just ask Chavez's mentor Fidel!

Polls indicate Chavez is likely to win the Dec. 3 election, and international observers have signed off on recent votes as fair.

Yep! Jimmah Cah-duh and Harry Belefonte both say that it's good. And they wouldn't have an agenda, would they?

I got ten bucks that says when Fidel finally kicks the bucket, Chavez is going to be rushing troops into Havana faster than you can say "Cuba Libre". And won't we have a fun time with that?

Tax rates down...

...tax revenues up.

Life in prison

Moussaoui gets life in prison. Couple of thoughts here.....

I would have preferred the death penalty. Apparently so would he. That alone makes a life sentence without possibility of parole worth looking at in a different light.

He'll be at Supermax, where he'll rot in a cramped cell with no contact other than the guards. No group of people to hang with, no mosque full of people to brag to, no weekly cribbage games where he can discuss what a badass he is. After a week of that, I'd probably go insane. I hope he does. And while being in constant isolation means that he probably won't get the anal gang-raping he so deserves, it will ensure that when he dies, he will die alone, a shell of his former self, a forgotten relic that was put aside and forgotten about except for the few people responsible to ensure that his body lived it's natural span. And there won't be groups of people protesting his execution, either. No media circus at Supermax, so hopefully he'll be off the airwaves permanently in a few days. Good.

I honestly think that the worst thing you can do to animals like Moussaoui is drop them in a hole and forget about them. They've prayed for a martyr's death. Deny it to them, and then forget about them.

Again, I would have preferred his execution. But I won't complain about what he got. He'll be removed from society and he will die alone in a concrete cell.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

The Left Supports the Troops, v.2

OK, so I'm over at Protein Wisdom, checking out some hysterical leftist comments on a post he wrote. One commenter, Major John, remarked about the Leftist hue and cry with this:

Thanks for making that point, Jeff. I do get a bit peeved when I see the oddballs that comment here...Do they assume we in the United States Armed Forces cannot apply force with any sense of discrimination? We are damned careful about what we do - not that any credit is ever given by the beets, Robs, et al. It feels like the unspoken assumption is that we are butchers, barely held in check, and that people like you would slip our muzzles off so we could go drown the world in blood… Bah.

To which a Leftard named "Dave" responded:

I believe Jeff’s argument consists mostly of your desire, to some degree, to do so....

Now, this is the same half-brain idiot who, when reminded that he had not addressed the actual point of the post, responded:

There you go, again. Insult, insult, insult. You guys might make someone feel unwelcome if you keep that up.

So, for those who are keeping tabs, that one count of deliberately ignoring the arguemnt while wildly making strawman arguments, and one count of flat out admitting that they think the military is nothing but a group of bloodthirsty thugs who want to raze the Earth flat.

Tell me again how the Left supports the troops?

Targeting the Labor Cartels

The Center for Union Facts

But, but, but.....

They were just pesticides!

Joseph Shahda has translated another Iraqi intelligence document, which appears to indicate that Iraq procured equipment to detect nerve gas in or about December 2000. This equipment is described as Â?prohibitedÂ? and as Â?similar to the required quality compared with the Russian equipments,Â? which are described as having Â?expired.Â? It appears that the equipment was tested in December 2000 and was found to detect Â?nerve agentsÂ? successfully. Which certainly seems to confirm that Iraq had some quantity of nerve gas as of early 2001.

Remember when we found traces of nerve gas in Iraq, and the Leftists were howling about how it was just "pesticides"? Yeah. Guess what pesticides are.....

Never agent, anyone? In fact, wasp and hornet sprays are actually two different nerve agents combined - one fast acting nerve aparalyzeparalize the bug, and another nerve agent to kill it once it's flat on it's back.

There's a reason you ain't supposed to use that stuff indoors, folks.

Go read Ace's post, and then try to answer his question:

And why exactly was Iraq attempting to detect nerve agents at all?

Hmmmm, gosh, it must be for peaceful purposes, right? Because we know Saddam would never actually use nerve agent on anyone, would he?

Oof!

"Well, that day without illegal immigrants went pretty well. How about we try a year?"

The Corner on National Review Online

Unbelievable

So the May Day boycotts are over, and the country is still standing. However, I think that you now have a few more people who are just a bit pissed off. And why shouldn't they be? As Michelle Malkin puts it, May 1st was A DAY TO HATE THE YANQUIS. And check out all the Che signs being waved at these rallies. "The Worker's Struggle Has No Borders"?

Oh, I think it does.

When a group of people sneak into this country illegally and then demand all kinds of crap, well, they can go straight to hell. Did they advocate for immigration reform? No. They advocated for amnesty without any constraints.

Hey Paco - fuck you. Let me tell you what you can do with your demands. You can take them and your illegal ass right back to where ever you came from and shove them where the sun don't shine. At this point I don't give a shit whether or not they "just want a better life" or "support their families". They broke the law. If I break the law I go to jail. If I break the law, I lose my job. If I break the law, I suffer the consequences. But I guess just because these people "just want a better life" we should all get over the fact that they're criminals?

Hell no!

And what gets to me is the fact that these people don't think they've done anything wrong! Check out the last line in this news story!

In San Francisco, Benita Olmedo pulled her 11-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son from school.

"I want my children to know their mother is not a criminal," said Olmedo, a nanny who came here illegally in 1986 from Mexico. "I want them to be as strong I am. This shows our strength."

YOU ARE A CRIMINAL, YOU STUPID BINT! You came here ILLEGALLY! YOU BROKE THE LAWS!

THAT MAKES YOU A CRIMINAL, YOU LAW-EVADING WETBACK!

To hell with giving them anything. The only thing we should give them is a swift kick in the ass right back across our southern border. Fuck these criminals and their demands. Fuck the people who give them jobs. And fuck Mexico for pushing all of their problems northwards. We need to build a damn wall RIGHT NOW! And when we can control our southern border, THEN we can deal with immigration reform. But any illegal aliens have lost whatever goodwill I had. It's gone.

Oh, and fuck our worthless government for not doing a damn thing about illegal immigration. Unless you count sitting on their collective thumbs as doing something. I hope the fence that the Minutemen are building shames those worthless goatfuckers on Capitol Hill into doing what needed to be done years ago.

What am I talking about? Politicians have no shame.

Hezbollah, Illegal Immigration, and the Next 9/11

Of course, the real issue with unfettered influx from Mexico is not Mexicans having jobs or using libraries. It's influx of Islamists. My program is fourfold:

a) secure the border. completely. pull four of every ten American soldiers out of England, Germany, and Japan and send them to Texas, Arizona, and California.

b) everyone in country must get a card by end of year. some of them can use their card to get in a union and help build the wall.

c) anyone who employs someone without a card, starting at end of year, gets fined. heavily. reward "whistleblowers".

d) invest in Mexico. we send $2 Billion a year to Egypt for heaven's sake. so long as there is a third world economy on our southern border, there will be people clamoring to leave it. Mexico is oil rich, sun rich, mineral rich, and worker rich. so why is nearly every product on WalMart's shelves from China, and none from Mexico?

On a related note...

...Tom Tancredo:

But if illegal aliens all took the day off and were truly invisible for one day, there would be some plusses along with the mild inconveniences.

Hospital emergency rooms across the southwest would have about 20-percent fewer patients, and there would be 183,000 fewer people in Colorado without health insurance.

OBGYN wards in Denver would have 24-percent fewer deliveries and Los Angeles’s maternity-ward deliveries would drop by 40 percent and maternity billings to Medi-Cal would drop by 66 percent.

Youth gangs would see their membership drop by 50 percent in many states, and in Phoenix, child-molestation cases would drop by 34 percent and auto theft by 40 percent.
Someone needs to clone this guy's spine and implant it into some squiggly worm Republicans.

Tom Tancredo on National Review Online

Ouch

This guy ain't happy. Don't click the link if you're easily offended, because he's an equal opportunity offender.

So it is now with the wetbacks. What was totally off the radar two months ago now has normally docile Americans ready to lynch a damned person who can't produce a temporary visa. And all this talk of Aztlan. Lookit, my little brown brethren: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, that shit is not reverting to you. Ever. You have, in your attempts to sway the discussion, managed to infuriate 75% of the populace here. I, for one, won't buy a Subway sandwich a fucking mestizo makes without they shows a green card. We let you in here, we tolerated you, now you have pissed us the fuck off. Real bad. Again, a real shame. But you must understand the average American is a working stiff themself, and struggling to make ends meet. Why should you get a pass on paying income taxes, whilst leeching our welfare state? And all the while sending your filthy lucre back to Little Mexico? Fuck you!

Oh, shit!!!! This was supposed to be about May Poles. Man, I got real diverted there. Thank God I have more bloodlines running through me than a Josef Mengele experiment run amok.

Linky Love

The Other Side of Kim: "United 93"

Some people in the media seem to be asking the question about United 93, the movie about 9/11, whether it’s “too soon” to make such a thing.

Here’s my response.

Of course it’s not too soon. This is a story which needs to be told: a story of heroism, of bravery, and of plain resistance to the forces of terrorism. Hell, we were making movies about WWII heroism during WWII, and no one wanted to know whether it was “too soon” then.

Here’s my take on the issue.

I suspect that other than the very few people who may be protective about the feelings of the families of the fallen heroes of UA 93, most of the people who are opposing this movie are people with an agenda: and it’s an anti-war agenda.

Think about it: once anger and grief have faded from the shock, loss and trauma of 9/11, it becomes so much easier to regard the war against terrorism as just another law-and-order problem, instead of as the warfare that it actually is. Once the war becomes a crime, you see, we can stop spending so much time talking about it, worrying about it, and the rationale for ditching the Iraqis in the soup (aka. bringing the troops home) becomes so much more palatable.

Well, I call bullsh*t on that.

My question to every leftist whining and sniveling about how a movie about United flight 93 is "too soon" (and by and large, it is Leftists doing the complaining) is this: Where the hell were you when Micheal Moore made F9/11? I'll tell you where you were - you were pounding your fists on your cheetos-and-semen crusted keyboards, yelling about how Bush was evil and how the Fat Fuck from Flint was gonna prove it, that's where. Making a movie about September 11th wasn't too damn soon when it fit your corrupt political goals, so you were just fine with it. But make a movie that actually brings to mind the events of that horrible day, and you're seething and whining like the petulant spoiled brats you are.

So piss off, and shove your temper tantrums up your ass sideways, because I'm calling bullshit on you. Deal with it.

Glen Dean: Gas Taxes

The five year average that oil companies make per gallon of gas is around 6 cents. With the surge in prices over the last year, they are now making about 9 cents per gallon. Government takes about 45.9 cents per gallon. The federal government alone takes 18.4 cents per gallon. So you claim you are being gouged, you are right. You are being gouged, but not by the oil companies, by the government.

Government and eco-freaks are the reason gas prices are so high. They are the reason gas prices will remain high. Until America faces that fact, we are going to pay more at the pump.

It really is that simple.

Bleeding Brain: Socialized Health Care (and this one scares the shit out of me!)

The family of a 57-year-old Meath Park woman says it will take at least three months before their mother gets to see a Saskatchewan oncologist who can tell her if her cancer is treatable or fatal.

And while Health Minister Len Taylor says three months is too long to wait, he offered little Wednesday to indicate wait times to see cancer specialists in this province will soon be getting shorter.

Emily Morley has already waited a month to see an oncologist since receiving her biopsy results that identified her secondary cancer, but were inconclusive in determining the primary source. Until that primary source is identified, her treatment cannot begin.

And even though the cancer is now in Morley's lungs, liver, pancreas and spine, the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic has advised her it will still take at least three months to see an oncologist.

This after several weeks of diagnostic wait times piling up. However, the Health Minister has assured the family that as soon as they find some oncologists, those lists will shorten!

If you want a lower life expectancy, shitty healthcare, and lack of healthcare providers, just go to a socialized healthcare system. Or "single payer system", which is just another way of saying "commie clusterfuck healthcare". Look at what socialized healthcare has done in Britain, Canada, and every other country it's been tried in. The results aren't pretty. Government control of healthcare should scare the living hell out of anyone with half a brain. Emily Morely is a dead woman, she just hasn't stopped breathing yet. And she's going to die because a socialized healthcare system cannot provide the medicine she needs, even though her disease has been diagnosed and they know what the cure is!

Think about that. Mrs. Morely will die because of socialized healthcare.

Let me repeat that. Mrs. Morely is going to die because of socialized healthcare.

Once more with feeling! MRS. MORELY WILL DIE BECAUSE OF SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE!

Now tell me how you would feel if Mrs. Morely were your wife or mother.

Geek with a .45: John McCain Decides He Doesn't Want To Be President, Shoots Self In Head...

"He [Michael Graham] also mentioned my abridgement of First Amendment rights, i.e. talking about campaign finance reform....I know that money corrupts....I would rather have a clean government than one where quote First Amendment rights are being respected, that has become corrupt. John McCain

We already know that McCain doesn't give a flying fuck about the 1st Amendment (See: McCain-Fiengold) but it's nice to hear him come out and admit it.

And last but not least, Analog Kid has pissed off a typical Seattle Leftist. There ain't nothing the Leftist can do to him, so if you're in a mood, go poke at her with a stick and see if she tries to threaten you like she did to AK.

In the oven as we speak.

Seafood lasagna. Crab, scallops, and shrimp, with a cream sauce instead of tomato sauce, and lots of cheese.

Oh yeah, come to daddy! The miles I'll have to run tomorrow will be worth it tonight.

Just remember

Liberals "support the troops".

Yeah, right.

Liberals support the troops like communists support democracy. I mean, between the asshats at UC Santa Clara forcing military recruiters off campus with their riots, and this at UNC-Chapel Hill, I think the lie that liberals "support the troops" can be laid to rest.

I will concede that there are liberals out there who DO support the troops, but they are the exception to the rule. And the exception PROVES the rule. The Left has been anti-military since the 60's, and they haven't changed their attitudes one bit. They've just been forced to lie about it in recent years.

UPDATE: No, really, tell me how the Left supports the troops. Really. I wanna know.

These are the same type of sick, virulent wastes of oxygen who spit on returning troops during Viet Nam. They just wear different cloths now.

Well, most of them do.

Blame Big Oil?

That's what Chuck "The Schmuck" Schumer would like to do. Of course, seeing as how he's nothing but a moronic asshat, that's what we expect out of him. But it turns out that the people to blame are on Capitol Hill.

There's been unconscionable behavior all right, most of it on Capitol Hill. A decent portion of the latest run-up in gas prices -- and the entire cause of recent spot shortages -- is the direct result of the energy bill Congress passed last summer. That self-serving legislation handed Congress's friends in the ethanol lobby a mandate that forces drivers to use 7.5 billion gallons annually of that oxygenate by 2012.

At the same time, Congress refused to provide liability protection to the makers of MTBE, a rival oxygenate getting hit with lawsuits. So MTBE makers are leaving the market in a rush, while overstretched ethanol producers (despite their promises) are in no way equipped to compensate for the loss of MTBE in the fuel supply. Ethanol is also difficult to ship and store outside of the Midwest, which is causing supply headaches and spot gas shortages along the East Coast and Texas.

These columns warned Republicans this would happen. As recently as last year, ethanol was selling for $1.45 a gallon. By December it had reached $2 and is now going for $2.77. So refiners are now having to buy both oil and ethanol at sky-high prices. In short, the only market manipulation has been by politicians.

For the record, the FTC has an entire crew that pores over weekly average gas prices in hundreds of cities, looking for evidence of gouging -- to no avail. Perhaps this is because no oil company controls enough of the market to exercise enough power to raise prices. The Hastert-Frist call for an investigation is nothing but short-attention-span political theater.

By the way, MTBE was the additive that lawmakers FORCED GAS COMPANIES TO USE! And then when it was found out that MTBE released some rather long-lasting toxins when it was burned with gas, lawmakers backpedaled as quickly as they could. Unfortunately for the companies that manufactured MTBE, they don't have the protection that congress has. So they're getting hit hard with lawsuits (of course) and gas companies are once again forced to deal with legislation that completely ignores the free market.

As long as the government keeps sticking their noses in business, we the public are going to get screwed. This is just the most recent in a looooooooooooooong list of examples.

By the way, if any one of the congresscritters can explain to me just how we're going to grow all the damn corn needed to make the US an ethanol based economy, I'm all ears. Because unless you want to clearcut half the states in the Union to grow that much corn, I don't see it happening.

So, along with preventing any new refineries to be built, the congresscritters have legislated us into $3.00 a gallon gasoline. Which 20% of is TAXES, by the way. Want to drop the price of gas by sixty cents? Cut the taxes out.

But you'll never hear Chucky the Worthless Asscannon suggest that. He'll just continue fucking up the economy and blaming other people for his miserable failures. Along with most of Congress.

Gah. It's really time we fired every single one of those idiots. Preferably out of a cannon into the Gulf of Mexico.

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

How much are you paying for gas?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - until this country builds more refineries, the price of gas will continue going up.

It's a matter of supply and demand, something that the politicians in this country either don't know about, or don't care about.

Anyways, here's a nifty little map of how much different counties are paying per gallon.

And in case you've forgotten

Cap'n Jim is showing why everyone's celebration at his return to blogging wasn't a fluke.

Though small in comparison to their progenitors of the sixties and seventies, the offspring of the hairy-armpitted, Birkenstock-hooved swine of the left would still forfeit the freedom of the individual for their dream of an Orwellian State. Though comedic and laughable in substance, they remain dangerous in fact; an un-excised cancer in the body politic.

Most interestingly though, in this context, we now fight the Battle of Information versus Mis-Information. And it is here that we find ourselves, in the front lines of the hot war.

Our enemies, and yes, I use enemies quite deliberately, are formidable. They have the carriers, the air-power and the ability to project force unmatched in all of human history. Their carriers are named CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN and to a lesser degree, Fox.... which vaccilates. Their Air-Power is hundreds of hours of broadcast and cable hours, flooding incessantly outward and bearing upon their waves, lies, deceit and perhaps worst of all, the misdirection of the absence of good news, that which would bouy the spirit, bolster the soul and bring courage to the otherwise uninformed masses who like a blank slate, are written upon by the broadcasts.

And thier logistic columns of liberal professors, corrupt publications, periodicals and newspapers; formidable.

But I don't pretend that my puny blog will affect a single change. I write this only to make my voice known to my fellow warriors in the cause, to add one strength to our line.

Make no mistake. We are at war, and that with ourselves. Though this Second Civil War has not erupted in fire and flames, nor have sides borne uniform and formed ranks, we are at war, one with another, in a War of Ideas, and Idealologies.

My battlefield truly is not here on this screen. My preception is that largely, we find the 'net and the erstwhile blogosphere to be a point of refuge, to rally, re-strengthen and regroup, in order to step back into the real world, and wage the battle anew.

And that friends, is the battlefield. The Real World.

Damn, it's good to see him blogging again.

Sorry about the lack of posting

But I've been rather busy. Life is kinda like that sometimes, ya know?

However, since I have a moment or two right now, let me point you to a blog that's been kicking ass lately - Random Nuclear Strikes.

Learn about the 13 Kumaon, an event which you most likely will not have heard of in the US publik skool sistim.

Watch as Analog Kid goes slogging through the sewers of Leftism to bring you the Kossaks whining about how us mean conservatives won't "let them get over it". "It", by the way, being the events of September 11th.

There are people in this country who really would prefer to bury their heads in the sand and go to sleep, rather than face reality.

Captain's Quarters has been doing it's usual bang-up job, (btw Tim, why don't we have him blogrolled yet?) by looking at how there's no real proof that the CIA had any secret prisons in Europe, as it has been accused of. The Captain then wonders, considering that the CIA agent who was just fired was the source of the Leak for Dana Priest's expose about said secret prisons.... was this a sting operation?

And of course, DANEgerus... well, just click and start scrolling.

UPDATE: Cold Fury takes on the Leftists who just want September 11th to go away so they could get back to their communist wet dreams.

They are in truth — as I’ve said so many times — ostriches, so frightened by the realities of life on this planet as to be completely dysfunctioned by that fear, and their only response to it is to bury their heads deeper in the sand. They do not want to fight Islamism and jihadism; they think the only enemies we have are those we’ve created ourselves, the only attacks we’ll ever suffer are those we deserve, and there are no enemies out there who can’t be made friends through yet another round of UN-managed negotiations or more foreign-aid bribery. They do not understand absolutism or fanaticism, and the only religious fundamentalists they’re willing to firmly confront are those they know will never do them any real harm anyway.

(.....)

But every time I’m just about to the point of joining Al and Bill and tossing off a long goodbye-and-good-riddance letter to the Repubs here, I run across something like this. And the marrow-freezing thought of the Dems running our foreign-policy and national-security strategies stops me dead in my tracks.

And it’s no use to say that this guy only represents a fraction of the Democrats, or that the Kossacks don’t represent the mainstream. That’s crap, and we all know it. The Daily Kos, no matter what the small, beleaguered handful of Lieberman supporters out there may wishfully think, is the face of the Dems today. And even if it wasn’t, anyone who can raise that much money for the principle-bereft, poll-driven swine that the Dems have become is guaranteed to have a voice in their agenda. Sure, “forget 9/11? isn’t official policy for the Donks…yet. But once the inmates of the Kos asylum decide it should be, then the Dems will obligingly consider it. Taxi drivers don’t get to decide who rides and who doesn’t; they take on whoever pays ‘em, and they go where they’re told. And so do whores.

And this is how their core supporters, whose voices will be heard, think. They, in their foreign-policy enlightenment, are “over” 9/11. They think we all should share their myopic “wisdom.” They want to take us back to 9/10. If allowed to, they will guarantee repeat performances of the most devastating attack perpetrated on American soil since Pearl Harbor, over and over again, until we either learn they’re not only incapable of defending our country but disinterested in it, or we submit to a dhimmitude they self-servingly refuse to admit the existence of, one small, Cartoon Jihad-like step at a time. Years from now, maybe these Dhimmi-crats will be smacking their lips over the delicious shit sandwich they’re being fed, but that won’t make the one they’re pressing to our lips any more palatable.

Honestly, you have to read the whole thing.

I didn't know doorman have a union

New York City is a weird place, man. Doormen may strike and these is near uproar, as tenants in the Upper East Side may have to "operate their own elevators, man their own front doors and, yes, cart out their own garbage."

Horrors.

What's odd to me is the existence of the Service Employees International Union and The Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations (they bargain for landlords). I didn't know that kind of job was a unionized commodity.

Those who hold NYC's doors might walk out them

The Coming Oil Crisis

This is not hyperbole, in my opinion.

In other words, it will not be 1973-1974, or stagflation, all over again. I believe it will be the end of civilization as we know it -- and possibly the birth of a brave new world.
The Coming Oil Crisis: Why the Rich Get Richer

Tolerant stuff here. I'm gonna write to some of them. Civilly, of course.

The hubbub is about this post, where Malkin lists the names and phone numbers of some moonbats in Santa Cruz.

Dave, what time is it in Puerto Rico when it's 0300 in California?

Oh yeah...

We need a new intelligence agency. Because the CIA is becoming America's worst enemy.

Botched CIA operations may have handed Iran vital information on how to make nuclear weapons and betrayed the identities of America's spies in the country, according to a new book on US intelligence.

The latest account of American intelligence failures includes details of how the CIA allegedly tried to slip Teheran some Russian designs for an atomic bomb, which contained hidden flaws that would have made any device inoperable.

The Iranians, however, were tipped off by the very agent sent to give them the documents.

What.

The.

FUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Between Clinton and Cah-duh allowing North Korea to get it's hands on a nuke, and the CIA giving Iran a damn blueprint for it's own nuclear weapon, I really think that we can say our government has shit all over itself so hard that it's never getting clean.

If you had any doubt that the CIA was a group of bungling incompetent shitnozzles, let that doubt be wiped away. Right now the only think the CIA is good at is leaking information that might hurt President Bush.

And they're only halfway decent at that.

And farther down on Ace's blog is this post, which sums up how I feel rather nicely. You know those people who write a post, and then you read it and think "Dammit, THAT'S what I wanted to say!" Yeah. This is one of those posts.

Courtesy and respect do not come at the end of a knife used to saw off a head. What Islamists seek is our subordination -- at which point it becomes necessary to resist by all means necessary. And courtesy and respect go out the window.

As long as Islamists aren't trying to kill me or subordinate me to their religion (not mine), I am more than willing to refrain from insulting something sacred to them.

The moment the request for respect comes as a demand, with the threat of violence for non-compliance, the proper response must be "Fuck you and your pedophilic murderer of a 'prophet' (and God-damn him to Hell).'"

That's not polite. Nor is it respectful. But neither is arson, bombing, maiming, and murder. Courtesy and respect are to be offered only to those civilized enough to offer it in return.

Moussaoui

I'm not much for the death penalty. But in this case, I say:

Hang him

he

is

dead.

And, if I might border on blasphemy here, may God have positively no mercy whatsoever on his soul.

A professor at Northern Kentucky University said she invited students in one of her classes to destroy an anti-abortion display on campus Wednesday evening.

NKU police are investigating the incident, in which 400 crosses were removed from the ground near University Center and thrown in trash cans. The crosses, meant to represent a cemetery for aborted fetuses, had been temporarily erected last weekend by a student Right to Life group with permission from NKU officials.

.
Sally Jacobsen, a longtime professor in NKU's literature and language department, said the display was dismantled by about nine students in one of her graduate-level classes.

"I did, outside of class during the break, invite students to express their freedom-of-speech rights to destroy the display if they wished to," Jacobsen said.
Oy!

Professor Jacobson's web site states that she was (or is) "Interim Director" of "Women's Studies" at NKU. The top "web link" at the Women's Studies web site?

Cincinnati Women’s Services is a woman-owned and operated healthcare facility offering well-woman gynecological care and specializing in abortion services. Providing women with reproductive health choices since 1973, Cincinnati Women’s Services is an ambulatory surgical facility licensed by the State of Ohio and is a member of both the National Abortion Federation and the National Coalition of Abortion Providers. Cincinnati Women’s Services offers reproductive care in a holistic manner that honors a woman’s body, mind, soul and spirit.

How many Condoleezzas does it take to drop a watermelon off a federal building???

Meanwhile, in Texas, some teachers display a level of cultural insensitivity that is simply unacceptable. To the gallows with them!

And with Tiger Woods as well! Can I say "Tiger Woods" and "gallows" in the same post??? Perhaps here but not on Google China, or vice versa.

Blame the Republicans, that's what Democrats Want

Thinking of punishing Republicans for not solving the illegal immigration problem? Democrats are thrilled with your decision, but don't look behind the curtain!

From Today's Evans-Novak report:

The Washington Post was correct in editorializing that Democrats had killed the immigration bill. Reid decided that immigration is better used as a political issue than a legislative one, hence his decision to block all amendments, leading to the bill's death on the floor.

At a meeting of principals, Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) proposed a compromise by which some amendments to toughen the bill would receive a vote on the floor.

Reid refused. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) took Reid's side. He reportedly remarked to a colleague that he didn't care whether a bill passed because Democrats would gain three Senate seats this fall and return to construct an immigration bill as they liked. Schumer and Reid are actually harnessing the Right's rage over the immigration issue to unleash it against Republicans.

Reid has shown his skill once again at dragging out the legislative calendar. Despite a 10-seat disadvantage in the upper chamber of Congress, he has figured out numerous ways of milking the clock, draining away the last precious days of the large GOP Senate majority. The entire week he managed to waste on the immigration bill was a serious accomplishment. Reid likewise forced the waste of an entire week on the asbestos issue.

The comments of House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Sunday--that a guest-worker bill would be inappropriate until border security had been finished--represents a change of direction, a new recognition that the immigration bill is dead. Senators rejected cloture on a stand-alone border-enforcement bill after the compromise on the immigration bill died. This could become a weapon for Republicans in some races. No Democrat supported the enforcement bill.

Could it be a weapon? Sure. Will it? It depends on whether conservatives can stop beating their team up long enough to whack the opposition. Think letting the donkeys run the show will end in border enforcement? Go ahead and punish the Republicans for Democrat obstruction. They aren't perfect, right? That'll show those Republicans! That's what Schumer wants too. Should we run down a list of the other things Schumer promotes and opposes to see how well the meriad of conservative causes are advanced by giving Democrats the power that they lust after?

Army Re-Enlistment doing fine

"Two out of three eligibile soldiers are re-enlisting."

I recall some prior-service officers calling Greyhawk a liar because he stated that the Army was meeting it's recruiting goals. I wonder if they now will apologize to him for their statements.

Not looking good at Duke U.

For the strippers, that is. DNA tests were done on 46 members of the lacross team, and guess what?

Not a single bit of DNA matched the rape kit that was done on the strippers.

Bad juju folks. Much bad juju.

Are the criminals still protesting?

I mean, I keep hearing about these hundreds of thousands of people protesting and rioting so that illegal aliens, ie. criminals, get to become US citizens at the drop of a hat.

I wonder, if I sneak into Mexico and demand Mexican citizenship at the drop of a hat, how long do you think it would take before I was tossed in jail?

Anyways, I hope that the average American gets to see lots of non-English speaking criminals waving Mexican flags, because right now that's the best way for this country to get serious about illegal aliens. And normally placid folks (or at least folks who can hold their temper better than I) are getting flat out sick of seeing criminals flood the streets waving the flag of a corrupt shithole like Mexico.

Dok Russia: If Mexicans want to come here, then fine. Do it legally. Register, so that we can make sure that your employer is not skipping out on his responsibilities to you, and passing along the costs to us. Do it legally, and let us make sure that we can weed out the murderers and drug dealers that are preying upon all of us. Do it legally. Get an education, Learn to speak English. Fine. Do all of those things. Just do them legally, or stay in Mexico.

From a health care professional at What Now Murphy: Hasn't it hit anyone between the goddamned eyes yet that there is only ONE group getting all in a hissy about this illegal immigration shit? You don't see any Vietnamese out there marching; nope, no Danes, hmm... where are the Canadians? The Japanese? Maybe because everyone ELSE does it legally. This will be an incredible insult to anyone who has ever gone through the process to become a legal citizen. Instead of, you know, the MEXICAN way of hanging out at a 24 hour Wal-Mart in the ninth month of pregnancy to drop their kid.

And someone who's quite possibly more pissed off than I am on any given day, Acidman:

I'm pissed from watching television coverage of the recent immigration protests. The Latinos surely impressed me. I never want to see another fucking Mexican flag again in my life. (There's your precious "multiculturalism" in action.) And if an illegal immigrant wants to wave one, I suggest that he take his wetback ass back home to do it.

Don't sneak into MY country and then flip ME the finger. (Learn to speak English so that you can cuss me properly, dammit.) What the hell are you trying to do, anyway? The message seems to be, "We want your country, but we don't want YOU." Boy, THAT'S the way to win American hearts and minds to your cause.

As for me, well... when I was working in the hospital in Seattle, when you saw entire floors wearing masks over their noses and mouths, you knew some border-jumping wetback had arrived for their free healthcare and were making themselves unwelcome. There's nothing quite like a criminal alien with tuberculosis screaming in broken English in your face. Trying to wrestle cigarettes away from a half-lung criminal alien who's determined to smoke even though we have oxygen being pumped into his room isn't something I like doing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: All those illegal immigration protests are a target rich environment for the INS. But hell, the INS have been hamstrung for at least a decade. Otherwise we wouldn't have the criminals out in the streets protesting in the first place.

Hell, just build the fence already. We'll deal with the criminals once we have control of our borders.

I know I might piss off some people with a post like this, but right now I'm sick of criminals demanding all kinds of shit. I'm sick of border jumping illegal aliens demanding to be citizens of this country when all they want are the perks and non of the responsibilities. Piss off. My tax dollars have better things that they could be used for, like a twenty foot high wall topped with razor wire and snipers positioned every half a mile to pick off anyone stupid enough to try to crawl over it.
