Here's something that I, along with many others, have been saying since the beginning

Masks.  Don't.  Work.  Have I posted this before?  Maybe I have.  Fuck it, gonna post it again because fuck masks, fuck Little Fascist Fauci, and fuck every sub-average IQ mouth-breathing shitbag who screeched about how masks were going to save us.

One of the largest and most comprehensive studies on the effectiveness of masks found they do almost nothing to reduce the spread of respiratory viruses.

The study reviewed 78 randomized control trials—experiments that have long been considered "the gold standard" for medicine—which assessed the effectiveness of face masks against flu, COVID-19, and similar illnesses. It found that wearing masks "probably makes little or no difference" for the general public, no matter what kind of mask is used. Even N95 masks, considered the most effective at filtering airborne particles, showed no clear benefit for health care workers.

Masks don't work.  Masks have never worked.  We knew this for decades.  It wasn't new knowledge, it was something that was common knowledge, but that knowledge was thrown away at the alter of political power.

Keep all of that in mind, because I'm willing to bet that come the 2024 elections, there will be some plandemic and some government "expert" telling us to mask up.  And the only proper response is "NO".

Actually the only proper response would be tar and feathering, followed by hanging.  But telling the shitbag "NO" is probably going to keep you out of jail.

It's already starting.

I make damn sure that I don't wear any FD identifying hats or clothing when out in public, so I can freely give a screeching maskhole the verbal beat down they deserve if they get in my face for breathing freely or happening to walk by inside the prescribed safety zone. If in uniform I will attempt to walk away or by as if they don't exist. I was given a seven week unpaid suspension in early 2021 for not holding my tongue or finger in check.

When wearing my biker leathers and a perpetual scowl, no one dare even approach me. That's awesome.

There's something about biker leathers that make people just hold their tongue. If only I would wear them more. Finally got out on two wheels today. Riding past snowbanks, but it was sunny and it felt damn good.

Then you, along with many others, were completely wrong.

Masks work. Period. 100x to 1000x better than wearing nothing, to prevent viral spread.
Read it and weep.

None of the studies cited in that batch of codswallop studied whether masks worked.
They didn't even test that.
They studied whether masking policies worked.
They don't, and never will, because on average, people are idiots.
Masks are never going to save idiots, because idiots.

I can do 78 crap methodolgy invalid studies on parachutes too, and if we stipulate that people only wear them half the time correctly when jumping out of airplanes, prove to you that parachutes don't work either.

That's what you're basing an incorrect conclusion on.

Words mean things.
Masks work, exactly as designed.

Masking policies never can, because the variable is compliance, and you're dealing with people with an IQ range of 60 to 160.

Where one non-compliant Gilligan in the group screws the whole pooch.

Anyone who thinks "the rules don't apply to me."
Any irresponsible rebellious teenager.
Any kid who can't be taught to keep it on properly, all the time in public. Because they're two or three years old.

But of course, there are none of those kinds of people out there. That's why no one ever gets a speeding ticket. Shoplifts. Cheats on their taxes. Cheats on their spouse. Runs a red light. Cuts into a line. Commits a crime. Throws trash on the ground. Right? Right...???

Sh'yeah. Pull the other leg; it's got bells on it.

Seems to me you're splitting hairs. And quite frankly, the thought that a flimsy piece of cloth is going to stop a virus from spreading is laughable on it's face.

Stop it? No chance.
Humans are fuck-ups.

Trying it was jackassical from the outset, for exactly that reason.

But they didn't mandate them to help out with a pandemic.

They mandated them to exercise control over people, with a spiffy excuse to just wade in and butt-rape any civil liberties, and steamroll any objections from the peasantry like "Who died, and made you Supreme Dictator Of What Shall Be?"

The Right is caught up in the false narrative that masks don't work. Actual science isn't buying that over-simplification.

What doesn't work, is trying to control people, in ways which you know before the start they'll never comply, and which were never within the realm of government to specify to begin with.

That will never work, and it was never intended to work - to stop a virus.

It was intended to work to stop your freedoms. To Assemble, associate, worship, speak out, petition for redress, buy and sell, or dissent.
At that, it worked like gangbusters.

Pitch that undeniable truth, and drop the "masks didn't work" malarkey, and 250M people will march in your parade without a single quibble, nor any leg for an objection to stand on. (The rest are dead, or NPCs.)

This wasn't a science experiment.
It was a political one.

You're looking at the hand the magician was waving.
Look at what his other one is doing.

I've said from the start that it was about control, so you and I are in agreement there. The biggest problem I have is that I have to deal with people in real life who, were I to state that fact, would look at me as if I'd grown a third leg. So I have to beat them over the head with the fact that masking up doesn't work and would never work. And once I break them free of their propaganda-riddled haze, and they start to ask the question "If it doesn't work why did the push it?", THEN we can have the conversation about control.
