Talk about a vapor lock

Every single time I type out the word Bureaucracy, I have to look it up.  Every.  Single.  Time.  I should just have it spelled out on a piece of paper and taped to my computer.  I don't know what it is or why I can't learn that one single word.

Any other word in the English language?  I'm good.  But that one word?  Can't do it.  I'm friggin weird.

I hate the word bureaucracy almost as much as I hate actual bureaucracy.

It was borrowed from the French, no wonder it's wacky.

You’re not alone.

I have a block like that with a few words, one of them being securities. Note I work in the financial industry. Sighs.

Back when Connie du Toit was alive, she wrote a piece about how roughly 15% of the population was functionally illiterate, and it wasn't because of a lack of schooling, it's because their brains didn't process written information in that fashion. I wonder if there's something like that going on. The brain just sees gibberish instead of a word.

A lot of people suffer with this word. I did, until I worked it out easy. Bureau. - no problem
spelling that. Cracy - not a real word, but just the suffix you need. Bureau. Cracy. ….. bureaucracy. Easy.
What has been stuffing you around, I bet, is that you have been splitting the syllables wrongly - the normal
pronunciation is B-YOU ROC RACY, and you can’t retrieve the spelling from that. You’re welcome.
