I watch sports to get away from politics.  I watch sports because it's a past-time that SHOULD be free of the political bullshit that has come to infest daily life.

I watched a grand total of two football games this year.  That's it.  Both of them involved the Seahawks, whom I still rooted for.  But I'm done.  I really can't stomach this kind of bullshit.

Maybe the Packers haven't completely lost their shit yet.

I can't watch the Mariners send yet another abysmal season into the record books.  It's too painful.  It's like watching a wounded animal thrash around - you know the poor thing is done for, you know it's going to die. you know there's no saving it, but you lack the capability to put the poor thing out of it's misery.

Could the Mariners just please call the season over and give up?  Oh wait, they did that thirty days ago.

Baseball pennant races

Three teams from the AL West are in the top ten power rankings for MLB right now.  My Mariners, currently third in the AL West, are at #9 in total rankings.

That ought to tell you just how hard a row they have to hoe to get into the playoffs.  Hell, assuming they snag a wild card spot, there will be THREE teams from the AL West in the playoffs.

King Felix deserves to play in the post-season, dammit.
