Did some stuff today whilst it rained

Laundry.  Dishes.  Cleaning around the house, that sort of thing.  Once the rain stopped, the Mrs. and I went out to the Spiral Jetty and had a look around.  Very 70's "art" schtick.  Still kind of cool though, and the drive was beautiful.  Now enjoying a cigar and a drink under the awning in the back, and not much to post about other than that.

I'll try, but that requires me being home. You might have noticed that posting sucks these days.... Time isn't my friend.

What kind of cigars do you get? Are Cuban still thought to be the standard, or are there others that compare?

I've had a few Cubans, and I was not impressed. I could go into all the whys and wherefores, but the simple version is this: When Castro took power, and took over all the sources of money in Cuba. the people who actually made the stuff took their stuff and left. So all the master cigar makers moved to other areas, and started making cigars in their new homes. My favorite cigars right now come from Nicaragua. I've had good ones from everywhere else, but my personal opinions and tastes lend towards the Nicaraguan sticks. Every stick I've had from Cuba has had some issue with it. Tobacco beetles, blue mold, poor construction, etc.

Cigars aren't the only things that left Cuba. Bacardi rum used to be made in Cuba, now they're in Puerto Rico.
