I've done more than my fair share of D&C doing funeral details. We would practice and practice for days, just to make sure that everything we did was in synch. If you want to understand just how hard it is to do what you're seeing in those vids of the Navy and Army drill teams, try this exercise - get twelve guys together, and try to march in time without anyone calling cadence or saying a thing. I bet you get no more than twenty steps until someone falls out of time.

I did flag drill team in both RTC and "A" School, and I was never crazy enough to try and do that kind of thing with a rifle.
