Ummmmmmmmm.......

So, let's say you base your religion off of a book.  Half of said book is the details of one group of people living in the same area of the world for thousands and thousands of years.  Wouldn't it make sense to look at the book your religion is founded from, notice that the group of people it describes still exist in the very same location, and say "Hey, maybe those people belong there"?

Not if you're the Presbyterian Church of the USA.

The Presbyterian Church in the United States (PCUSA) isabout to release a report which denounces Israel as a “racist” nation which has absolutely no historical, covenantal, or theological right to the Holy Land. The report calls for the United States to withhold financial and military aid to Israel and for boycotts and sanctions against Israel. That’s not all. The report also endorses a Palestinian “right of return” and “apologizes to Palestinians for even conceding that Israel has a right to exist.” According to the press release, it also states that Israel’s history begins only with the Holocaust and that Israel is “a nation mistakenly created by Western powers at the expense of the Palestinian people to solve the ‘Jewish problem’.”
In addition, PCUSA has also resolved to divest incompanies that supply military equipment to the American Army, e.g. Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, etc.

Let me cordially invite the PCUSA to open their Bibles, (you know, that book that your religion is based off of) and turn to the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Kings, hell just open up the Old Testament and start reading it..  That would be the section of the Bible that details the Jews existence in Israel.

If this report coming out is real, and not the concoction of an Onion story, the PCUSA has gone off the edge and can now be considered just another nutcase religion.

Very sorry to hear this from another Christian church. I hope they correct this error.

Are they going to burn their Old Testaments?

No no. This is s.o.p. for them. PCUSA has always been left of center starting with close associations with Amnesty International. We used to be members of a PCUSA church. We had to leave when the started voting on whether or not the Bible was correct. You know, Gays in clergy, when life begins, that stuff. I just figure this: when church starts voting on whether or not portions of the Bible are correct, I bug out.
