Considering TFG had been in office for exactly 10 days and 12 hours before the Feb 1, 2001, filing deadline for the award he was given (NOT "earned"), it was nothing more than the Nobel Committee giving Dubya a parting poke in the eye.
Which degrades the award to something political, which kind of wipes out the purpose for the award, especially after giving one to Al Gore for no other reason than because he lost to Bush. (The movie and "climate change" was just an excuse.)
They should be honest about it, and change it to the "Nobel We didn't like your predecessor" award. I know, I know, that requires that they actually be honest...
The Nobel Peace Prize officially became a joke when they awarded it to Yasser Arafat. Nothing says "This award means nothing" like giving it to a terrorist who continued to blow up innocent women and children until he finally kicked the bucket.
