Porkbusters
I don't understand the whole attraction around Porkbusters.
If I lived in Lahaska, Pennsylvania and my Congressman had gotten the town five million bucks to build a parking garage that will help alleviate congested streets, bring more businesses to the town, and bring more shoppers to the town, I'd be damned if I'd volunteer to decline the money so the governments of New Orleans and Louisiana can have it.
Cuts across the discretionary board, or convene the Senate and House and start redlining. That makes sense. But asking individual representatives to volunteer to slash their district's budgets to benefit New Orleans, it seems to me, is just delusional.
