Dude, I'll be in bed. There's nothing like going for a run the morning after a big party holiday. The roads are empty. Nobody on the trails. No cops out trying to write a ticket for having dogs off-leash. Only the few hard-core runners, who nod at each other if we even see another person at all.
There's no traffic noise. Very little air traffic noise. Most everybody is at home, in bed, with a hang-over.
It's an awesome time to go running. Same with July 5th.
So I have no real want or need to stay up till midnight. I'll be awake at 6, strapping my shoes on and heading out the door.
You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once. - Robert A. Heinlein -

Big story blows up into nothing
So the hit on Rep. Scalise, that he spoke to a racist group, that he associated with racists, that was supposed to blow the GOP into smithereens.....
Yeah, maybe not so much.
Expect more of this crap over the next two years as the Media Palace Guard does everything in it's power to protect their God and King Obama. This wasn't a mistake, this was a deliberate attack using fake "news" as a weapon.

Mandatory Gruber mention
In 2009, the architect of Obamacare admitted that there were no cost controls and it was not affordable.
At this point, I'm thinking that membership in the Democrat Party amounts to sedition and treason.

CNN's wet dream
So a CNN poll has Jeb Bush up by 10 points in the GOP field.
1 - it's CNN. Who did they poll, all those people stuck at an airport? Because that's their main audience right now.
2 - nobody else has thrown their name in the ring, so Jeb Bush is up 10 points against..... a random collection of names. So he's only up 10 points against speculation and rumors. That doesn't bode will for his candidacy, thank goodness.

Wait, what?
Doonesbury is still in print? He's just a more syndicated version of Tom Tomorrow, with less drool and spittle.
Morons gonna moron
So a bunch of protesters showed up at Hollywood and Highland on Saturday night, trying to do their Ferguson/Garner thing and block traffic. They burned an American flag right in the middle of the street, stretched across the crosswalk, held hands and generally acted like the brainless morons they are. The usual "Fuck the Cops" attitude was on display.
Someone apparently wasn't down with the struggle, because he tried to force his way through the line with his car. Which resulted in someone banging on his hood, which THEN resulted in this dude hauling ass away, right THROUGH the idiots in the crosswalk.
I watched the video. Best thing I've seen come out of Hollywood in a while.
Here's the twitter feed of one brainless moonbat, named "Cassandra". Cassandra claims to be an "Activist who commits random acts of journalism". She's also really good at showing off her boobs, because "GRRL POWER" or something like that. And, if you peruse her feed, you'll see that she has drank so much of the liberal kool-aide that normal free thought is beyond her. However, she did post that video of the dude getting run over, so I can at least thank her for that part of my evening. She's also a great indicator of the kind of mental power these protests can attract - mental power so low that I doubt she could even get a flickering incandescent bulb to light up over her head. It's more like a match that won't light.
Yeah, I'm a little off this morning. Haven't had coffee. Still need to take the dogs running. They're snoring on the couch next to me right now.
UPDATE: Ok now - run completed, dogs are happy, coffee is made.
So, regarding the brain-dead moron who blocks roads for fun... let's call him "Speedbump" for short. Anyways, after Speedbump got himself run over by jumping on a car and hitting it while the driver (who probably rightly feared for his life) was contemplating his next action, the protesters who were just seconds ago calling the police all kinds of names, stirring up shit, burning US flags and being various flavours of assholes all the sudden started calling 9-1-1. While cops were standing right there, trying to keep protesters from getting themselves killed.
Savor the irony. The protesters, who were protesting cops, get a little taste of their own medicine, and then try to call the cops.
And then the protesters try to whine about how the cops weren't doing their job.
SAVOR THE IRONY!
In the mean time, I want to try to track down that driver and send him a thank-you letter.

Well, that was a nice week of not watching the news. So now lets see what kind of crap I missed.

Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope you are all enjoying it as much if not more than I am.

Christmas Eve
I've sung this before, but I think this song needs a woman's voice to do it justice. Although I couldn't find a video that I really preferred - just one woman singing, with maybe a piano for accompaniment. It'll bring tears to your eyes.

Tantum Ergo
I consider this to be a minute and a half of pure vocal music bliss.
From the words which express delight and thanks in our Savior, to the harmonies that range from major to minor and back to major, this is one song that I wish every single choir would sing.

Seahawks in the driver's seat
Now we stil have to beat St. Louis, which in the first half of the season seemed to be a forgone conclusion. But the Rams have been making life difficult for other teams over the latter half of the season, which leads me to think that it's not going to be a cakewalk.
If we win, 1st seed in the NFC. If we loose, we're still in but we have to go through someone else's stadium.
Pardon me whilst I chew my fingernails off.

Avoiding politics. Need some peace. Need some good music for the season.

Gutless
So first Sony pulls "The Interview" and practically begs Kimmy Dimmy Jong Un not to be mean, which causes some theaters who were going to show the movie to switch to another movie in it's place.
That movie? "Team America, World Police". Awesome, thinks I.
Now the distributor for that movie, Paramount, prevents those theaters from showing it in place of "The Interview".
If you ever wanted to know what kind of craven, gutless pathetic wimpy little bitches run Hollywood, you now have your answer. This is disgusting.

If you had to choose
Chris Christie or Jeb Bush?
Just no. Actually, not just no, but Fuck No with a side of No Fucking Way.
At that point it's third party time. Libertarian, Constitutional Party, I don't care, but at that point the GOP would have lost my vote for the rest of my life. Period. So let's hope that this is just a little hypothesizing.

The Media has an objective
Republican aide writes snarky facebook post about Obama Kids? Front page news, baby. That lady was hounded out of her position.
57-year old Democrat delegate has sex with minor? Nah, no big deal.
Look at how the media is literally having orgasms over Fauxcahontas Warren vs. Ted Cruz over their Government Shutdown talks.
Never trust the drive-by Media. Never.

This is why they must allow guns on college campuses
Because liberals are so violent and unhinged that conservatives need to protect themselves. And no, that's not be being sarcastic.
This guy has been threatened, had threatening notes left on his door, had people in hoodies showing up at his door at 0140 hrs. He ought to be able to carry a gun to defend himself against these liberal fascists.
In the meantime, the University of Michigan needs to have their ass sued off for establishing a hostile environment, and the newspaper who fired Mahmood needs to have their ass sued off for, well, being little bitches.
Omar Mahmood, a junior majoring in literature and anthropology at the University of Michigan, lost his job as a writer for the main campus newspaper and saw his front door tattooed with angry and profane messages after he wrote a satirical column dubbed "Do the Left Thing" for another publication. Written as parody, the column sought to poke fun at people who constantly perceive “microaggressions” -- a new term for small racial or ethnically-driven snubs.

So, if you're wondering what to get me for Christmas....
I'm about at the point of saying "Screw the GOP"
Boehner, that spineless, boot-licking quisling, lied to his own people in order to get Obama's CRomnibus passed.
And yes, I'm calling it Obama's CRomnibus. It gave Obama everything he wanted, wrapped up in a neat little bow and a couple of chocolate kisses on top. And Boehner made it happen.
Boehner's staff says he didn't make any such pledge. Who are you going to believe? The guys who voted against the CRomnibus, or the guy who was begging liberal Democrats for their votes to pass the CRomnibus?

CRomnibus passes the House
At least I can say that my Representative voted against it. This is just another example of John Boehner putting DC politics and favoritism above what's best for this country. Boehner must go. BOEHNER DELENDA EST!
John Boehner is a clueless cunt
Hey Johnny Boy! When the people rallying on your side include BARACK THE LYING SHITHEAD OBAMA, you're way off in the rough.
And you still think this Cromnibus is a good idea? Screw you, John. In one month you have managed to throw away the huge advantage handed to you in the last election, and you're sucking shit from BARACK THE LYING FUCKWAD OBAMA in order to try to push your bullshit through the House.
When your best ally is BARACK THE LYING CANKER-SORE OBAMA, YOU ARE ON THE WRONG FUCKING SIDE, YOU DAMNED IDIOTIC WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!

Ragin' Dave's Fact of the Day
Whenever the Democrat Party gets control of a "Public Integrity Unit", all semblance of "Public Integrity" goes away.
That DUI judge down in Texas, for example.
And the Department of Justice.
Seriously, a Democrat in charge of the Public Integrity Unit is just about as Orwellian as you can possibly get. It's doubleplusungood!

Trojan horse
Is anyone else getting an advert popping up when they click on this blog? I'm having it happen to two different blogs right now, and I'm about to tear my computer apart looking for the worm.
Here ya go, folks
The summary of the Omnibus bill. Over $1 Trillion dollars!
To include almost $1 Billion for "unaccompanied children", i.e. illegal aliens crossing our border. I bet there's crap that that buried all through the bill.

So Gruber is testifying to Congress right now
About his lies and bullshit.
Quite frankly there is nothing Congress can say to him that would equal what he deserves to hear. There is nothing Congress can do to him that would equal what he deserves to have happen to him. This lying, slimy, arrogant piece of elitist aristocratic shit needs to be tarred, feathered, and then put in stocks for the public he holds in such distain to throw rotten produce at him.
He needs to be humiliated and punished so horribly in public that the next lying, slimy, arrogant piece of elitist aristocratic shit fears to even contemplate that action.
The name "Gruber" needs to be turned into a verb. "Dude, don't do that, you'll get Grubered!"

A productive weekend
I started a five-gallon batch of cherry melomel, a three-gallon batch of straight mead, two three-gallon batches of hard cider (one with an English cider yeast, and one with an ale yeast). I botted a three gallon batch of orange-blossom honey mead, two test batches of chocolate mead (they need some aging, but they taste like they're going to be awesome) and helped the Mrs. clean around the house.
Oh, and I got to sit at a cigar shop and watch my Seahawks kick some Eagle ass.
On top of all that, there was much pipe tobacco smoked, many books read, and much relaxation.
That there is a good weekend.

I have a rosary
Like most traditional Catholics, I have a rosary, and I use it to pray. My rosary isn't anything special; it's made of camo-colored yarn. The "beads" are knots that have been tied in the yarn, and I've accented the beads for the "Our Father" with copper wire so that I can feel them when I reach them.
What makes this rosary special to me is the crucifix. The crucifix came from a rosary that my Grandfather carried with him as he served in the Navy during World War Two. Five years floating around the Pacific ocean, fighting pretty much the entire time. When I was getting ready to go to Afghanistan, my mom pulled this crucifix out and gave it to me. It had been in my father's possession since my Grandfather's funeral. I took the plain crucifix off my rosary, and put Grandpa's on.
My Grandfather was just doing a hitch in the Navy; he was born in South Dakota, and the Navy was his way of getting out of the Midwest and seeing the world. And then, Pearl Harbor. December 7th. Today's date.
Needless to say, he did more than just a hitch. I don't know the exact date my Grandfather was in; his records were destroyed in a fire in the 1960's, along with a much of other military service records. I know he was already in the Navy when my Father was born in 1940. He got out after the war was done, and went into journalism of all things. He died in the early 90's.
I've got some prayers to say today. I'll be using Grandpa's crucifix.

Today is December 7th
A day that shall live in infamy, as some guy once said. Just a wee bit of his historical significance.
Here's the page for Bing today:
A very nice homage to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. I've been to that memorial. I've looked down into the gun turrets and seen the oil still dripping to the top of the water like tears in reverse. It was a powerful moment, even though I was a little kid and still didn't understand everything about it.
And here is the page for Google today:
And this is why I try never to use anything from Google. I have an epic rant just bursting to come out, but it's Sunday and I'm trying to maintain on semblance of peace on the Lord's day.
I'll never use Chrome, and I'll use Bing or Yahoo to do my web searches. If there were another free blogging engine out there, I'd use that as well just to get away from Google.

So, that fake Rolling Stone story
About gang-rape at the University of Virginia... Yeah. I'm betting Rolling Stone wishes they'd never allowed that to go to print.
BUT!!!
When your source is connected to the Obama Administration:
When the story is timed to come out along-side an Obama administration initiative:
And when the entire story falls apart because it's based on lies....
Well, fuck Rolling Stone anyways. Maybe if they weren't just a group of sycophantic Obama fangirls, they wouldn't have gotten caught up in this.
And now the people pushing those lies are saying that we "need to have a discussion about rape". Fuck. You. We need to have a discussion about ruining men's lives with false rape allegations. Why don't we try that on for size?
BUT!!!

They do this on purpose
So the Obama Administration is refusing to release IRS documents that the IRS illegally shared with the Obama Administration due to 'Privacy".
Sooo........ the IRS broke the law in sharing the files, the Obama gang broke the law by accepting the files, but "privacy" so you can't have the documents.
They do this on purpose, folks. They know the excuse is bullshit, and they give it anyway knowing it will piss people off. Just like Obama flipping people off while "scratching is nose", or resting his head on his hand with his middle finger pointing straight at you. They. Do. This. Shit. On. Purpose.
If there were any justice in this world, Obama would be rotting in a jail cell right now.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Democrat Media Complex edition
From the comments to an Instapundit post:
Terry Bean is the Obama bundler and Democrat fund-raiser who also likes to have sex with children on the side.
Elizabeth Lauten is an obscure GOP staffer who made a snarky facebook post about the Obama kids, and who subsequently had to resign.
Hey, remember when national outrage forced Andrew Sullivan to resign after his unhinged, lunatic attacks on the Palin kids? No? Hmmmm.......
The Media is not your friend. The Media is not reporting actual news. The Media is doing nothing but covering up for their Democrat lords and masters. Do not trust them. Do not support them. And do not ever rely on them for actual straight information - every bit of information that dribbles out of their diseased mouths must be viewed with distrust until it can be verified. They are the American versions of Grima Wormtongue.

But that's unpossible!
My snark generator must be on high today, because as I was skimming this article, I came across this blurb:
And my mind immediately went "Wait, what? A UNION man, unemployed? But that's unpossible! The Union would never let one of their people get unemployed for FOUR YEARS, would they?"
I'm willing to bet that this Mr. Feid gave thousands upon thousands of dollars to the union while he was working. How much money could that have made Mr. Feid if he's put it into an IRA or mutual fund instead? How much money was wasted so that the Unions could fill the pockets ofDemocrat American Communist Party politicians?
Don't ever join a union, folks. They are not your friend, they do not help you, they do not assist you, they do not care about you. You are nothing more than a money-earning rube that they use to curry political favors. Period.
Oh, and do read the article. You can get a good idea of what the Democrat overlords of California have in mind for the rest of the country.
Feid, an unemployed union carpenter, lives in a fortress of netting and plastic tarp with a cat named Baby. He's one of the 278 people who've claimed a spot in the thicket of cottonwood trees along Coyote Creek. He first moved here four years ago when he ran out of work.

Well, there's no white suspects
So the Democrat Media Complex can't spin it for their God-King Obama. Therefore, it may as well never happened.
This follows a pattern - despite the supposed outrage over a young black man's death, even when that young black man was a dope-smoking, store-robbing, law violating thug gansta-wanna-be, if there isn't any white suspect to pin the blame on and thus stoke up the racial tension, then the media doesn't cover it.
Business as usual.
There was a young black man who was shot in the head, stuffed in a car and then someone lit the car on fire. But there wasn't any white suspects, so the media doesn't care.
Don't think this isn't being done on purpose.

I love the rain
I love the sound of it, I love the smell of rain hitting the ground, I love the way it cleans the air.
And I love the way it drives all the Californians inside like the Wicked Witch of the West trying to stay dry, leaving me miles of jogging trails uncluttered by the usual group of people. Just me, my dogs, and a good long run.

Had to go shopping yesterday
Needed groceries, and the Mrs. needed a few things. So out we went.
Driving in Los Angeles is always a bad move. It is just a never-ending chain of events that make you want to pull people out of their cars and beat them with golf clubs. Every single negative stereotype that exists of California drivers are earned by Los Angeles. Every. Single. One. And if there are any negative stereotypes that you haven't thought of yet, just go ahead and add them in presumptively.
Luckily the shops we went to are staffed by awesome people. I just wanted to kill about half the drivers on the road before we got there.

It rained last night
Makes me wish I'd been awake. Last time it rained I was able to sit out underneath my patio awning and smoke a cigar, drink some coffee, and listen to the rain hit the metal roof.
You don't get that very often here, you know.

I had a lazy day yesterday
I woke up late. Ate leftovers. Sat around with the Mrs. Didn't leave the house. The most productive thing I did was start a batch of mead, and that hasn't even started bubbling yet.
That was the first real lazy day I've had in a long time.

Addition by Subtraction
So the Seahawks shipped off Percy Harvin to the Jets for what amounted to a bag of peanuts and a hand-shake. We already went over what was going on in the locker room. The Seahawks were hurting as a team on the field.
Well, well, well..... two division games against good teams, and two wins. Not just wins, but beat-downs.
I wonder just how much getting rid of Percy Harvin is helping this team right now. When you remove the thorn from your heel, you can run much better. Percy Harvin was a thorn in Minnesota, and he was a thorn in Seattle. We don't have all that many receivers right now, but we're obviously much better as a team without Harvin than with him.

Lots of people out right now
Doing their Black Friday shopping.
Not me. Nuh-uh. No sir. I'd rather shave my nutsack with a rabid schnauzer. Did that last year out of sheer necessity (needed new running shoes), and this year you couldn't pry me out of my house with a team of horses. Unless it's to the range, because shooting things is fun. So OK, maybe some range time, while every one else is off doing their Black Friday nonsense.
But for me, Friday is sleeping in, brewing, bottling what is ready, and just generally not getting out of my PJs unless I really want to. Screw this Black Friday shit. You want to know why it's called "Black" Friday? Because that's the color your soul turns as you fight your way through the crowds, trying to save money on crap you don't need.
We just spent a day being thankful. Do we now need a day of screaming "GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE"?

You can just feel the insanity bleeding from your screen. Don't get any on ya!
More riots last night
And I'm kind of at the point of saying "Meh. Let the place burn".
I feel sorry for the business owners and shop keepers who are losing their livelihood to groups of thugs and criminals. I truly do. But over the past two decades I have been called everything but a white boy by the very same types of people who are now running feral through the streets. I wish that those business owners were standing in front of their stores with rifles, and putting down the thugs who are destroying them. I wish that the culture of St. Louis didn't allow for feral thugs to run through the streets while screaming about how Whitey is horrible. But what I truly wish was that the culture of Ferguson didn't go off the rails when a dope-smoking thug who robbed a store and bounced the store owner off the wall and then attacked a cop, ended up getting shot for his violent actions.
Other than that, I really can't muster much emotion about it any more.

No Indictment for Darren Wilson
So naturally the vibrant youth of Ferguson, MO loot and burn.
If one of my business were burned, I would not rebuild there. I would not repair. I would salvage anything I could, and I would leave a burned out structure to remind people that if they don't want civilization, they don't get civilization. And then I would get the hell out and never go back.
This poor bastard is probably wishing he'd never heard of Ferguson. First his store gets robbed by a giant thug, and now it gets looted after that giant thug got shot while he assaulted a cop.
Here is the end result of LBJ's "Great Society". Here is the end result of decades of Democrat policies. Like the result?

Marion Barry died on Sunday
I didn't want to post anything, because that wouldn't have been nice on a Sunday.
Marion Barry was a crack-smoking, prostitute screwing corrupt asshole. He was an actual misogynist, not the fake kind that feminists keep yelling about. He proved just how stupid the voters in D.C. are when the re-elected him after he got out of jail for his drug-fueled whoring. He was the epitome of every single negative stereotype you could have about a politician.
Naturally, he was aDemocrat American Communist Party hero.
I wish he'd actually come around and smartened up before he died, but in the end I'm glad he's no longer screwing things up here on earth. If that makes me a bad person, so be it. But I cannot mouth empty platitudes about someone who just kept screwing things up by his arrogance, his greed, and his pride.

Chuck Hagel out as SecDef?
Well, he did the job Obama hired him to do - gut the military as much as possible while mouthing empty platitudes about a strong force.
Now under the bus he goes!

Can you imagine
What Russell Wilson could do if he had receivers on his team?
I mean seriously here, did anyone else know who Cooper Helfet was before yesterday? Not me. I've been rooting for the Seahawks since the mid-80s, and I didn't even know Cooper Helfet was a football player. Now he's catching a touchdown for the Seahawks.
Hopefully he can catch a bunch more, because we need people who can actually catch the ball

Advent starts next week.
Don't even bother to look at the screen. Just plug this into your speakers and turn it up, then close your eyes and listen to how joyous this song is.

Would you like to know where I got some of my best work done?
On a patio, with a gin and tonic in my hand, and a cigar lit.
I was at a "training" event where I had spent the past three days in meetings and briefings and events, all trying to get to a point where I could even begin to come up with solutions to the issues I was facing, and I got more work done in two hours, sitting down with people in an informal setting over drinks and cigars with the right people.
Why am I bringing this up? Because everyone is freaking out about the GOP heading home early for the holidays.
What, pray tell, do you think the GOP can do with the anti-American Democrat Party still controlling the Senate? Do you think they can pass a bill and get it pushed through? Do you want them to draw up their action plan and announce it on TV, thus giving the traitorous Democrats advance notice and time to plan a counter-attack?
I don't care if they're in D.C. or not. I'm more than willing to bet that they're sitting on a patio with drinks and cigars, getting actual work done. Let them enjoy the holidays, and then I want to see them tear the Democrat shitheads a new asshole.

Survivalist class today
You can read everything you want in a book, but for me being able to actually TOUCH and SMELL and TASTE the plants in question will stick them in my mind much better. So the Ragin' Mrs. and I are taking a class to do just that.
I know how to catch and slaughter animals, and I know how to grow a garden. I want to get better at finding foods.

The Emperor's Chamberpot
Obama Caesar has just shit all over every single legal immigrant in America.
I wonder how many of them will be voting next election?

The wages of uncontrolled immigration
Sweden now has 55 official areas where the police cannot go.
This makes me sick to my stomach. These people's ancestors used to strike fear into the hearts of everyone who saw their sails on the horizon, and now they've given up control to the muslim immigrants, and they're bringing MORE in? Swedish Ambulance drivers are requesting military grade gear to go into these areas because they're being attacked by the muslims there.
The statement that needs to be repeated is from this report about muslim rapists in Sweden:
Too bad feminists in America only care about making a scientist cry over his shirt. Imagine what they could accomplish if they actually gave a shit about women.

Sweden, like the rest of the West, will have to come to terms with the fact that it can either have female equality or Muslim immigration. It cannot have both.

So I'm just going to link to this, courtesy of Insty: My Obamacare Story in 1 Picture. Nothing says success like a 181% price increase! And as Insty puts it, this is the reason why Obama pushed off the increases until after the election.

One MIIIIIIIIIILLION Dollars!
Is what you would need if you had four kids who wanted to go to college. The cost of college tuition crosses $260,000. That's insane.
How 'bout this: No. There is nothing in college worth putting yourself a quarter of a million dollars into debt. Especially since half of what gets "taught" in college is nothing more than Marxist indoctrination. With the exception of the hard sciences, I'm willing to bet that you could get the same level of education off of watching YouTube videos, especially when I read things like this:
Emphasis mine. One of the things I have to do in my job is read essays written by people with Masters degrees. Graduate level education. And half of them seem incapable of following basic English grammar that I, in my uneducated state, can manage to piece together. They are hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt in order to get that Masters degree, and they can't write a one page essay better than me with my self-taught writing style.
No. Just no. The more I see coming out of the hallowed halls of higher education, the more I'm convinced that the entire system is a scam.
Update: Yeah, it's a scam. Can you imagine paying a quarter mil just to sit in class and have this happen?
Rust is pretty much a liberal moonbat, but his heinous crime was correcting his student's grammar. Of course he must be punished!
Lunatics eating their own. And people pay money to sit there in this toxic stew of Marxism and idiocy? Hell no. That's like paying for people to keep you stupid, ignorant, uninformed and abused.

First thing I did was I gave my staff preemptive raises so I didn’t lose them. And we’re hiring. Which means I’m reading resumes and honors-thesis writing samples from major universities riddled with grammar and spelling errors….

Finally, on November 14, 2013, the class’s five “students of color,” accompanied by “students of color” from elsewhere at UCLA, as well as by reporters and photographers from the campus newspaper, made their surprise entrance into Rust’s class as a “collective statement of Resistance by Graduate Students of Color.” The protesters formed a circle around Rust and the remaining five students (one American, two Europeans, and two Asian nationals) and read aloud their “Day of Action Statement.” That statement suggests that Rust’s modest efforts to help students with their writing faced obstacles too great to overcome.
Rust is pretty much a liberal moonbat, but his heinous crime was correcting his student's grammar. Of course he must be punished!
A few weeks later, a town hall convened to discuss the Day of Action’s charge of a “hostile and toxic environment for students of Color.” Professor Solórzano presented his typology of microaggressions to explain the school’s racial tensions. Protest organizer Kenjus Watson read a long bill of particulars justifying the Day of Action. Another black student argued that no reconciliation in the school was possible because Rust had not apologized for his transgressions. Several of Rust’s faculty colleagues in the Division of Social Sciences and Comparative Education attended; none publicly defended him.

Democrats try Fake Vote stunt, still manage to fail.
Seriously, there isn't a single thing they've done right on this vote. Not one. After years of obstruction, and covering for Obama, the Senate Dems tripped over their own feet again and made sure that Mary Landrieu would lose her run-off election by a huge margin.
Cry me a river. That cheap tart needs to be removed from office, and I'm glad to see the people of Louisiana doing just that.
Yeah, I said cheap tart. She was the "Louisiana Purchase" of the Obamacare trainwreck.

Whatever, Ebola Nurse
Ebola Nurse: Stop calling me Ebola Nurse!
Sure thing there, Ebola Nurse. I mean, too bad you didn't bother to follow quarantine, thus ensuring that your name would be as forgotten as every other medical worker who was exposed to Ebola. Nope, you had to go tell people to fuck the fuck right fucking off while you did what you wanted even though you had been exposed to a highly deadly virus and might be contagious.
So go for another bike ride, Ebola Nurse.

Anyone remember....
When Rush Limbaugh coined the word "Feminazi", and all the Feminazis went apeshit over been accurately described?
Yeah.
Short version: Time Magazine had a poll about what word to ban, and the word "feminist" was winning with over 50% of the votes. So the Feminazis rallied, and screeched, and made horrible hooting sounds, and called their flying monkeys, and Time showed their complete and total lack of spine by pissing down their leg and removing the word "feminist" from their poll.
Things like this are why I haven't bought a Time in well over a decade.
Hey, when the vast majority of the public think that feminists are a bunch of shrill, over-bearing, hyper-sensetive harpies, is it really a good idea to prove the majority right?
Yeah.

This dude just helped land a probe on a COMET
But this feminist only cares about what he's wearing.
Here, let's rephrase that: This man just helped advance the cause of science by leaps and bounds by doing something that nobody has ever done before, and yet there's a woman who only cares about how his shirt offends her.
But yeah, like, women are SO TOTALLY into like science and stuff!
The tagline for this piece of sniveling drivel is "One small step for man, three steps back for humankind". Really? REALLY? "I don't care if you landed a spacecraft on a comet, your shirt is sexist and ostracizing". That line was actually written by two people who claim to care about science.
If these two quivering lumps of feminist fumunda cheese gave a damn about science, they wouldn't have even noticed his shirt. They would have been too focused on the fact that this dude just LANDED A SPACECRAFT ON A COMET, WHICH NOBODY IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF SPACEFLIGHT HAS EVER DONE BEFORE.
But no, that's all just passé these days. It's his shirt that catches their attention. But they care about science and NASA and spaceflight and stuff. Yeah. Right. Sure. Uh-huh. Pull the other leg.
This piece is a perfect representation of Feminism in America: So focused on their own feelings and butthurt-ness that they disregard and throw away actual accomplishments in favor of anti-male groupthink and politically correct gobbledygook. When I first saw the photo, I saw a guy in a loud Hawaiian shirt. I didn't see anything else, because I was too busy trying to figure out how the hell they landed a probe on a comet.
But then, I'm not a feminist, so I actually care about science rather than group-think and FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELINGS.

Attention whore
Or just a plain whore, take your pick. Kim Kardashian is showing off her naked butt on the intertubes, or something like that.
Look folks, if you really need to see that used-up skank, you can find pictures of her naked with a simple google search. She did some spread in Playboy, and before that there was a sex tape.
No, I haven't seen either of them. I don't care, and I think we all need to stop giving that attention whore any more attention. She's a canker on America's ass, and I'm tired of seeing her in the news. Can anyone tell me what special talent she has that makes her so famous?

This is what happens
when you put a politician in charge of the Border Patrol.
Keep an eye on that Vitiello name, because towards the end of the piece he vomits forth this bit of stupidity:
I underlined that stupidity part, and this shows that either Vitiello is a mouth-breathing moron, or just another political flunkey making up bullshit excuses to cover his boss's ass. The firing pin is removed when you strip the rifle down to clean it. It's not some part that you have to dig out with microscopic tools, it slides out of the bolt assembly after you remove one pin. Replacing the firing pin is as simple as that - pull one pin, tilt the bolt assembly, let the old firing pin slide out and put the new one in.
You don't need to be a professional to do this, otherwise you would have to be a "professional" just to strip and clean the rifle. Do they have "professionals" cleaning each rifle? No, they don't. The agents are trained to clean their rifles, as they should be. But now we have massive amounts of rifles pulled from duty and Border Patrol agents being put in harms way all because some douche-nozzle thinks that a firing pin needs to be replaced by a "professional"?
Someone either has a fat government contract to perform a two-minute action, or someone is trying to get Border Patrol agents killed. With this administration, either is possible.
Border Patrol officials have pulled thousands of rifles from field agents in a large-scale effort to refurbish the weaponry, prompting the rank-and-file to complain that they've been left with the dangerous options of sharing guns or being disarmed altogether.
Nearly one-third of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's 16,300 M4 carbine rifles were tested by the agency's office of training and development, which determined that more than 2,000 had the potential for malfunction. The rate of nearly 40 percent was "more than we are comfortable with,” said CBP Deputy Chief Ron Vitiello.
Keep an eye on that Vitiello name, because towards the end of the piece he vomits forth this bit of stupidity:
Prather, who used the M4 throughout his law-enforcement career, said the weapon is “very robust” and that any issues found in the Border Patrol inspections are likely simple fixes.
“All you need to do is pull out the old firing pin and put in the new one and the rifle is ready to go,” he said.
Vitiello said that may be the case, but the work must be done by a specialist.
“It may be easy to replace a firing pin, but these are things that should be done by a professional,” he said.

Veteran's Day
There's a lot that I could say, but I've either said it before, or someone else out there is saying it much better than I could.
So just give a prayer of thanks for all those who have stood their watch on the wall. And here is something that took me a long time to "get", and I'm not sure I understand it completely just yet. Those who stood their watch on the wall, but never were called into combat, are just as important as those who fired shots and were shot at. The fact that you weren't sent does not in any way take away from the fact that you stepped up and volunteered to go. I have the same respect for the guys who filled out requisition forms in Fort Bliss as I do for the guys who were kicking in doors, because without those filled-out requisition forms, the door kickers wouldn't have had the boots, beans or bullets to do their job.
And trust me on this - every Soldier out there would rather kick in doors than fill out requisition forms. I know that I'd rather be in Afghanistan than stuck behind my desk.
So, to everyone who came before me: Thank you. To everyone coming after me: Good Luck!

There are days....
When I want to find all the Obamacare Supporters out there, and suffocate them in cement. Kinda like cement shoes, but head-first.
They lied. They lied, they lied, they lied, and then they lied some more. And anyone who has been watching KNEW they lied, and we screamed that they were lying, and what we found out was that too many people want to believe the lies.
It's not just all the people who bought into the lies who make me sick - it's every person who continues to spew those lies even today, attempting to defend their government takeover of the health care system.

High Ho, Silver!
Some of you young bucks might not know this, but the old "Lone Ranger" radio show was always opened with the latter half of the William Tell Overture.
You all know the song by heart, you might not know what it is.
The actual part you all know starts at 8:21. If you listened to the entire thing, you'll have recognized other parts of the piece that are commonly used in modern day, either in commercials or cartoons. The back-and-forth between the flute and the oboe at 5:35 has been used everywhere, although I remember it best in Loony Toons.
So, many years ago, the Ragin' Father was a huge Lone Ranger fan. Had the mask. Had the cap-gun pistols, for all I know. Never missed an episode.
So my Grandfather pulls my father aside one day and tells him that there's a special edition of the Lone Ranger coming up on the radio, and it's so special that there's a huge musical intro to it. So my father sits down, and Grandpa plays the entire William Tell Overture. After it was all done, Dad looks over at his dad and says "So when is the Lone Ranger coming on?" at which point my Grandpa collapses into laughter.
I don't think my Dad ever forgave his father.
On the other hand, he's still a big Lone Ranger fan and loves the William Tell Overture like nobody's business.
All this came to mind because we went to the Long Beach Symphony tonight, and the opening piece was the William Tell Overture. They did it proud. Put shivers up my spine and across my scalp.

OK, so I have something to admit to all of you. Whenever this song comes on the radio, I crank it up.

So there's this guy at work
His name is Juan. That's not his whole name, but that's all the name I feel comfortably putting out online.
Juan has been in this country for over two decades. He came up from a Central American country, and he always wanted to be an American. He wants to open up his own business and live the American dream.
This past Wednesday, he took and passed his citizenship test. He is now a full citizen of the United States of America.
If the GOP caves and pushes Amnesty for all the illegal border jumpers, they will have shit all over Juan and every other immigrant who followed the rules, did what they had to do, and became citizens.
Think about that when you're contacting your congresscritters.

Damaged
So, Lena Dunham is experiencing a melt-down, caused in part by her new book, wherein she relates multiple episodes of behavior from her that can only be described as sexually abusing her sister. I won't go into too many details, but they're out there if anyone cares to read it. Truth Revolt put excerpt of her book online, and now she's threatening legal action against them for... um... accurately quoting what she wrote.
Now see, if Truth Revolt had made up the fact that Lena Dunham had sexually molested her little sister, I could see the lawsuit working. But by accurately quoting her? Nope.
In any case, the sister in question (who is now a lesbian) used Twitter to try and defend her sister:
Did you get that? It's not a problem that Lena Dunham sexually abused her sister, it's "hetronormativity" that deems it bad, and "the state and media" don't want you to think otherwise!
If you do a search for Dunham's father and his "artwork", you suddenly realize that this entire family is screwed up in their collective heads. And I mean completely jacked up. When Daddy Dearest is painting "art" that looks like the drawing of a naked woman as done by a twelve-year old (imagine growing up in a house filled with that crap), and Mommy liked to have a picture of herself with her legs spread featured in the house, Lena described her own actions towards her sister as a sexual predator, and it's just "hetronormativity" that's keeping you down, man!
I really, honestly have pity for Lena Dunham. She was so screwed up by her parents that she didn't have a chance at living a normal happy life. But that pity doesn't make me want her to go away any less - she's still a diseased whore, corrupting modern culture even further every day that she's on the public stage. It's just that we now know why she's the way she is.

Grace responded on Twitter: “heteronormativity deems certain behaviors harmful, and others ‘normal’; the state and media are always invested in maintaining that.”

"Smart" Diplomacy!
I'd say Poland has this Obama fellow figured out.
Our foreign relations are going to be damaged beyond belief by Obama. I only hope they're not damaged beyond repair. But nobody can say the Poles don't know the reality of the situation.
Yesterday I spoke with a top Polish MoD official, a man of sober and strongly pro-American views whom I’ve known for years. Referring to this week’s needless White House crisis with Israel, another American ally who has doubts about the current administration, he noted, “I didn’t need the Beltway media to tell me who the real chickens--- is.”
"They really have no idea what they are doing,” he opined about Obama and his national security staff, “and we know it. You have no idea how many promises we’ve been given, even by the President himself, but there’s never any follow-up, it’s all talk. He thinks he’s on Oprah.”
When I asked if he thought America would come to Poland’s aid in a crisis, he said laconically, “I’d flip a coin.”

Daylight "Savings" Time.
So, even as late as last Friday, I was riding to work in daylight and riding home in daylight.
Yesterday, I rode to work in daylight and rode home in the dark. First time I've had to use the lights on my bike.
Tell me again about how we're "saving" daylight?

Gurgle
One of the joys of living in Los Angeles is the constant pollution. There's no escaping it; it surrounds you, you live in it, you suffer with it. In my case, my allergies have been through the roof for the past two years. Breathing is interesting some days.
So when you get rain, like we did Friday night and Saturday, and it clears out the air, suddenly your body doesn't know what to do. But after it goes through it's period of shock, it tries to expel all the crap that's built up from fighting the pollution for so long. So I've been hacking up lung biscuits yesterday and today.
Going for my run this morning, I blew a snotwad out of my sinuses that I'm pretty sure weighed more than my little dog. And when I talk, I gurgle, until I can clear the crap out of my chest and talk normally.
Nine more months. Nine. And then I can escape. I think the people who move here willingly all need a mental evaluation.

O Salutaris Hostia
One of the greatest sins the Novus Ordo Catholic church ever did was throwing away their musical legacy of praise.
I think the music you find in a modern Catholic church is designed to drive the people away, rather than allow them to sing in praise. Fine, you go sing some hippy-dippy song from a 1970's musician who's more interested in putting five different time signatures into a song rather than how it actually sounds. I'll be in my traditional Latin Mass singing Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus".

Halloween in a Hispanic neighborhood.
Got the treats. Left the porch light on. Not one single knock on the door.
Ah well. At least we got little bags of pretzels instead of chocolate. I can take them to the office and they'll get eaten there.

Beautiful, glorious rain, and so even though it's early I'm outside with coffee and a cigar enjoying the sounds of the rain hitting the pavement.
Sometimes it's just the little things in life that make you happy.

Stop all emergency services to Ferguson, MO
No cop should be asked to put up with this as part of their job. I certainly wouldn't put up with that as Joe Citizen. But then, I wouldn't be caught dead in a vibrant shithole where the locals are typically rampaging gangs of thugs and hoodlums, either.
Yeah, I know that's harsh. Take a look at the video. Feel the hatred that these people have for anyone who isn't black skinned. And as an added bonus, these are the people who flat out lied about Michael Brown being a "Gentle Giant" even after he was caught on video robbing a store and tossing the store owner around. And of course, they stuck it to "the Man" by smashing windows, looting the QuickTrip store, and burning their town down around their ears. And now that the grand jury has seen ALL the evidence and refused to indict the cop, they're going insane over the fact that their lies couldn't get the desired results.
Even a dog doesn't shit in it's own den. But apparently that's too high a level of civilization for the residents of Ferguson, MO.
So my solution would simply be to cut off all emergency services until the population stops assaulting cops. No Police, no Fire Department, no EMT. If the barbarians who populate Ferguson want to act like a bunch of savage cavemen, so be it. Don't put anyone else's life at risk. Let them drown in their hatred, and hope that the survivors are less inclined to devour those who are trying to help them.

Even a flatworm turns away from pain.
Score one for the good guys.
The people who pushed this issue on the Knapps wouldn't have done so if they didn't think the culture allowed them to get away with it. We can't sit back on our laurels with this; we must remain vigilant.
We previously covered the now familiar tale of the Knapps at the Hitching Post in Idaho. For the short version of the recap, Donald and Evelyn Knapp, both ordained ministers, were informed that they were going to have to perform same sex weddings at their chapel in order to remain in compliance with a city non-discrimination ordinance. The ensuing uproar which traveled from coast to coast like a shotgun blast apparently attracted the attention of the city fathers who have since thought better of the matter.

"Chickenshit"
So, the dope-smoking retard to the right just called the Special Forces troop on the left a "chickenshit".
You want to know what's chickenshit? That American Jews will, en masse, march into the polling booth and pull the lever for theDemocrat American Communist Party, no matter what the leader of that party says, and no matter how horribly the Democrats and their allies smear the state of Israel. Only one side of the political spectrum is marching in protests with signs calling Jews a bunch of Zionist Nazis who want to use the blood of non-jews in pastries, and it ain't the GOP doing it, m'kay?
Wait. Who's "chickenshit" again? #Israel #tcot pic.twitter.com/VHU10NH2Sd

When did races get so expensive?
When I registered for Bloomsday, it was $30. Now Bloomsday is a 12K (7.5 miles approximately), but it's a big one with over 50,000 people running it. That requires a lot of administration and capital, doesn't it? So let's use Bloomsday as our baseline of what it costs to run a race - 7.5 miles into $30 is $4 a mile.
I went to sign up for the Long Beach half-marathon: $100. Say what? At 13.1 miles, that shouldn't have been more than $53.
I was looking into the Ragnar race. They wanted over $120 a person, with teams of 12 people. Uh, no. Look, I have no problem paying to support the costs of administration for a race, but when you get to paying a Franklin just to run? Sorry.
What's it cost to race where you are? Am I off my gourd here?

Spent yesterday sick as a dog
And with a headache that started between my shoulderblades and radiated up to the top of my head. The Ragin' Mrs. hit it with some ointment and worked on my shoulders until the vertebrae started to pop back into place. You ever have a time where you were in so much pain you didn't know just how much? And when the pain finally went away, the feeling of relief made you dizzy? Yeah. That kind of pain.
Feeling much better. I may actually try to go to work!
The illness was due to getting the flu shot. I know there are tons of people out there who will shriek at me "THE FLU SHOT DOESN'T MAKE YOU SICK!" Yeah, yeah, whatever. For years and years, every time I got the flu shot, I got sick. When I was out of the Army and living the civilian life, I never got the flu shot, and never got sick. And then I was back in the Army, getting the flu shot every year, and getting sick from it. So I'm either getting a mild case of the flu, or I'm catching some other virus that sneaks in while my body is busy dealing with the vaccine.
I'm not an anti-vaccine kind of person. I'm all for the MMR vaccine, and the polio vaccine, and all those other vaccines that help us avoid the kinds of diseases that used to kill or cripple huge swaths of America. But if you're a healthy person between the ages of 15-65, do you really need the flu shot? If I'm going to get sick every time I get the flu shot, then why don't I just skip the shot entirely and give myself a chance to not get sick at all? And since the flu shot only covers three or four different variations of the virus of the year, there's no guarantee that you still won't catch the flu even after you get the shot.
Once I'm out of the Army, I won't be getting a flu shot until I turn about 80 or so.

This, this, this!
This is politely written, unvarnished truth that needs to be repeated, from the comment's at Vox Popoli:
With all due respect, both you and your critics here are wrong. You object to filthy language from anonymous teens directed at women-handles on the grounds that it is misogyny, and they object to your objection on the grounds that it is typical young male banter.
Courtesy is an organic and reciprocal thing. The only way to get boys, who are innately and inherently barbaric, to act chivalrously and nobly, is to have your your ladies act like ladies.
Not to be too crude or direct about the matter, but if the only way to persuade a woman to copulate with you is to behave like a gentleman (and I mean a gentleman who fights duels and is polite to the man he shoots or stabs) then the natural lusts and pride of youth will incline the young men to act like gentlemen.
The Cultural Marxists for all the decades after World War Two have spent their utmost time and efforts attempting to normalize filthy and filthy language, and heap up the obscene and disgusting things in our lives, because men without dignity, and men without beauty in their lives, men who live in a dungheap, find it hard to fight. Their spirits are low.
So, to reform the filth talk of the HALO players, your mission is to reintroduce Christianity, courtliness, femininity, and romance into life.
Stop talking this nonsense about women being exactly like men in all ways. Men and women are not equal, they are complimentary, and each has strengths and merits the other lacks.
Men are downstream of women. Eliminate feminism, and you will eliminate what you are calling misogyny.
The Marxist and their allies have pushed to dumb down modern culture for as long as I can remember, and it's been their goal to make what used to be degenerate, common place. Defining Deviancy Down.
But now that they've gotten their goals and their places of power, they're trying to shame all those hollow-chested men they've created into following their rules. But deviants don't do shame. Degenerates don't do shame.
You want to be treated like a lady? Act like a lady. But modern feminism refuses to act that way, and so they reap their reward.

Just enough to get to Korea. And then enough to buy this sammich.
No, you don't understand. I must have it. Now. Like right now.
Look, I won't stay there for long, just enough to have one or two hundred of these sammiches. So, like, a month, tops. Maybe three.
Want. Badly.

The first American hostage that was beheaded by ISIS, James Foley, campainged for Obama, and thought that Obama was going to save him.
Instead, as we all know, the feckless, gutless, limp-wristed response by the Golfer-in-Chief cost Foley his life.
I don't take joy in Foley's death, and I still want to see those who killed him removed from this earth. I only bring this up as I would bring up the actions of a child who touched a stove after being told it was hot. You can feel sorrow for a person's pain, but you must always, ALWAYS acknowledge that it was that person's actions that caused the pain to begin with. James Foley worked to elect Obama, and Obama let James Foley get his head hacked off by murderous savages rather than risk his political image. Because to Obama, his political image is worth more than an American's life.
And that's the man James Foley voted for and campaigned for.

But of course
Scratch a Democrat, find a dictator.
The fascists of the Democrat Party never stop. TheDemocrat American Communist Party itself wouldn't be half as powerful as it is if people actually understood it's goals. Therefore, in order to maintain it's grip on power, it has to tamp down on anyone and anything that might continue to expose it as the power-hungry, anti-freedom group that it is.
Hence, "campaign finance reform" and speech codes on campus and squashing of internet sites.
In a surprise move late Friday, a key Democrat on the Federal Election Commission called for burdensome new rules on Internet-based campaigning, prompting the Republican chairman to warn that Democrats want to regulate online political sites and even news media like the Drudge Report.
Democratic FEC Vice Chair Ann M. Ravel announced plans to begin the process to win regulations on Internet-based campaigns and videos, currently free from most of the FEC’s rules. “A reexamination of the commission’s approach to the internet and other emerging technologies is long over due,” she said.

Bububububut..... CONSENSUS!!!!
So... when the co-founder of The Weather Channel comes out and states that climate change has been proven to be a lie, how many liberal heads go boom?
The Climate Change Cult (and it is a religious cult) cannot explain the Little Ice Age. Nor can they explain the Medieval Warm Period, or the cycle of flooding on the Mississippi River. They cannot explain actual, verifiable facts that have occurred using their "science", but they want us to believe that they know what's going to happen a century from now.
The Climate Change Cult (which used to be GLOBAL WARMING, which used to be GLOBAL COOLING) is a religion kept afloat by people who want to feel morally superior by demanding action on their religious beliefs. It has nothing to do with facts or science, and everything to do with politics, greed and brainless, feel-good bullshit. It allows the people who have no morals to feel morally superior in their demands and actions. Think Leonardo DiCaprio taking his jets and yachts all over the world, and then demanding action on Climate Change. That disgusting hypocrite uses more fuel in a 24 hour day than I do in a month, but he claims moral superiority through his religious Climate Change cult when he issues his demands.
But like any false religion, it doesn't take much to punch holes in it. Which is why the Climate Change crowd is becoming such a shrieking mess - their religion, their beliefs which they have wrapped their whole identity into, is exposed as a fraud on a daily basis. This is why they're attacking people again and again and again - because they cannot defend their actions, and they cannot defend their religion. So they attack.
Keep attacking them. They'll never stop attacking you, so the only thing you can do is counter-attack. Drive them into the un-rising ocean because the other option is becoming slaves to their religious cult. And I don't like chains on my neck.
In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: "The ocean is not rising significantly.
"The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.
"Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing).
"I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid."

More Racism in the NFL
But of course, it is the racism which shall never be mentioned. And since it's effecting my Seahawks, I'm going to mention it. There's a report out about the problems encountered by the Seattle Seahawks with regards to how players are meshing in the locker room, and why Percy Harvin got traded.
There is also an element of race that needs to be discussed. My feeling on this—and it's backed up by several interviews with Seahawks players—is that some of the black players think Wilson isn't black enough.
This, again, was similar to the situation with McNabb. And this, again, will be denied by Seattle people. But there is an element of this.
This is an issue that extends outside of football, into African-American society—though it's gotten better recently. Well-spoken blacks are seen by some other blacks as not completely black. Some of this is at play.
Russel Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. He's also well spoken, clean-cut, and doesn't do stupid shit, at least not that anyone knows of. He's a big part of the reason that everyone was wearing Superbowl rings, including Percy Harvin. But in today's society, if you have dark skin you have to act "black", talk "black", vote "black", and if you dare to step off the plantation you're labeled as a race traitor.
It's the same thing that happens to black conservatives. Think of the vitriol, abuse and hatred directed at Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Ben Carson, Alan West, Thomas Sowell, and any other black person who doesn't immediately kow-tow to the Democrat Party. Yes, I said hatred and abuse, because that's what they have to put up with.
And now that mindset has transferred into the NFL. Of course it has. The NFL is only a representation of the people who make it up, and there's no indication that the blacks in the NFL somehow think differently than the blacks outside of the NFL.
So here's my question: What exactly does "acting black" or "talking black" look like? What does it take for someone to be "completely black?"
Here's another question that'll make the Left go nuts, although that's not too hard.... Who would you want taking care of your child? Someone who was "completely black", or someone who was scorned as not being "black" enough?
Who would you want as a role model for your child? Someone who acted "completely black", or someone who was scorned as not being "black" enough?

AJ Fernandez Spectre
If you're a pipe smoker who likes English blends, then this cigar is the bomb-diggity.
My only complaint is the price. Right now, depending on who you go through, it's about $50 for a box of ten. Now don't get me wrong, a good cigar is worth $5 easily. However, this is a pipe-lover's cigar, and more importantly, a pipe-lover who likes Latakia tobacco. Which means for $10-$15, you can get a tin of tobacco with Latakia in it that will last you much, much longer than a single cigar. So unless you really, REALLY like cigars more than pipes but still want that English/Balkan flavor, it's kind of an answer without a question.
My impression? If I can find it on sale, I'm picking it up because it's a darn good cigar with a twist. But I don't think I would pay full price for it, as I can get the same aroma and taste from a whole host of different pipe tobacco blends.
Speaking of which, I'm currently trying a blend called Saint Olaf, which is pretty much a classic English/Balkan blend. Good flavor, doesn't smoke to hot, and it burns down all the way to white ash without any left-overs.

Voter Fraud and Battlespace Preparation
So a Illinois state representative who tried to cast a ballot for himself during early voting had his machine constantly switch his vote to his opponent.
You got that? These things DO NOT HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT. This is a big part of how Obama was elected. This is how Mitt Romney got 0% of the votes in certain Cleveland districts. This is how Democrats pervert democracy and steal elections all over the USA.
Tar. Feathers. Repeat. Or rope. Lamp-post. Duplicate as necessary.

Called the Mayor's office yesterday
Left 'em a relatively polite message, but still got the point across. Will keep following this story. I have people I used to work with calling me up because they recognized the name of the town, and remembered it's my home-town. "Dave, what's up with Idaho?"
Someone needs to find whoever made this decision and stomp a mudhole in their ass, then walk it dry.

Saw this yesterday at Og's place
And today over at Ace of Spades. I actually refused to blog about it on Sunday, because Sundays are one of my few days where I can lay my worries aside and say "Screw it, today I'm relaxing." So I held off on getting upset.
But oh look, it's Monday, and I'm pissed off.
Two Christian ministers who own an Idaho wedding chapel were told they had to either perform same-sex weddings or face jail time and up to $1,000 in fines, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court.
Alliance Defending Freedom is representing Donald and Evelyn Knapp, two ordained ministers who own the Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d’Alene.
“Right now they are at risk of being prosecuted,” attorney Jeremy Tedesco told me. “The threat of enforcement is more than just credible.”
The wedding chapel is registered as a “religious corporation” limited to performing “one-man-one-woman marriages as defined by the Holy Bible.”
However, the chapel is also a for-profit business and city officials said that means the owners must comply with the local nondiscrimination ordinance.
This is the sort of thing that the anti-gay-marriage people have been warning about, but we were called a bunch of bigots so shut up they explained.
Here's a simple test of logic - would those two ministers own that wedding chapel if they were not Christians who followed their religious doctrine? Nope. Would they be marrying people if they were not ordained ministers? Nope.
This is my hometown. And I'm calling the mayor's office today, and letting them know in no uncertain terms that I am not out here doing my best to protect and defend the Constitution just so that they can use it as toilet paper.
I was anti-gay marriage before all this set in. I am rapidly becoming anti-gay, period, because in this country "Gay" is pretty much indistinguishable from "Progressive Marxist". If they cannot leave religious people like these two ministers alone, I see no reason why I should be forced to put up with their actions. Live and let live only works when both sides do it. As we can plainly see here, the Gay Lobby uses tactics from the Marxist Left (use government to enforce your beliefs on other people) rather than the Libertarian side (leave me alone, I leave you alone), and that makes them the enemy. And yes, I said it. The Gay Lobby. The same people who sue to force cake-makers to bake wedding cakes for gay weddings. The same people who sue to have religious owners of an event site host a gay wedding, AFTER paying over $10k in fines. The same people who use the power of the state to impose THEIR morality onto others, the very same crime they have shrieked about for decades, even while everything they claimed to be happening to them... wasn't. Like good little Marxists, they project their actions onto their opponents.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a phone call to make.
Seahawks laid an egg
Just...... ouch. What the hell is going on to make them implode like that? They get rid of Percy Harvin, Marshawn Lynch is throwing fits... Do they all need a time out?
Well, except for Russel Wilson, who seems to be the only person who still wants to win instead of grandstand.

Hopefully, even fewer people will listen to him now
I assume you've all read the report that says Karl freakin' Rove basically sunk the reports of people finding WMD in Iraq during the Bush years.
If this is the case, then his political acumen is even less than I thought after the commies took over the Senate in 2006. And if it's true, then I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to listen to his political advice ever again. He needs to be laughed out of politics for the rest of his life.

I'm not the easiest guy to put up with
I've got a temper. I can be stubborn. I can fixate on details in a way that would make an Aspie blush. I can be grumpy. And of course I've got the whole male scratching/burping/farting thing going on in spades. I'm the biggest baby when I'm sick. I'm a picky eater who absolutely refuses to eat peas or broccoli.
So imagine my surprise when I found a woman who not only hung around, but wanted to hang around for the rest of our lives.
Yesterday was our tenth anniversary. We went out for dinner, then spent the night smoking cigars (her a Kuba Kuba, me a La Gloria) and driving through the canyons and down the PCH. I'd say I found a keeper.

Lunch
Went to lunch with the Ragin' Mrs. today. After figuring out what we wanted, we decided on Chik-fil-A. Headed up there, got in line, and figured out what we wanted.
I wish I could say enough nice things about the Chik-fil-A where we are. They have somehow managed to take Southern California teenagers and instill Southern courtesy into them. The service there is always polite and quick. The food is good. We never have to wait for eons to get our order. The only real complain that I have is that their parking situation is a bit odd, but it works. We've eaten there a couple of times, and every time we've been there it's been a good experience.
There are entire industries that could learn something about customer service from Chik-fil-A. This isn't an ad, but when you get treated well by a business I figure it's only fair for me to tell people about it. Lord knows I've done enough complaining about other businesses. So it's nice to be able to sing praises about a business where I'm at.

Top. Men.
The CDC Director cleared a nurse infected with Ebola to fly on a commercial airplane, and then claimed that she "broke protocols".
I guess this is what happens when you put political flunkies into a position that has real-world consequences, eh? And gosh, doesn't that just give you all sorts of confidence in the FedGov's handling of a viral crisis?

Use their lies to attack them.
So the Democrat American Communist Party has been using the Ebola outbreak to whine and complain that it was those mean old Republicans who are at fault because BUDGET CUTS or something.
Hit them back twice as hard, people. TWICE! AS! HARD!
HIT THEM! And then HIT THEM AGAIN!

Attached [at the link above] is a CRS analysis of the actual NIH budget for the last several years in inflation adjusted (real) dollars. It’s worth noting that after the Republican takeover in ’94, the NIH budget rose until the Dems took over Congress in 2006. The Pelosi/Reid Congress was the first to flatline the NIH budget in nominal dollars.
HIT THEM! And then HIT THEM AGAIN!
More Joys of Los Angeles
Running through the park, when I feel the urge to take a leak. Damn. I hate that. And I'm not going to use the bushes like the damn hobos around here, as sections of the park already reek of rancid stale urine and I'm not going to add to that.
So I make my way around the park, and near the maintenance shed there's a public restroom that's open. Yay, Maintenance guys! I duck in and immediately hear the drug dealer in the shitter call out his challenge.
Dude. I can't even take a leak without having to dodge the druggies and their handlers.
I managed to hold it in until I got home, and then damn near blew the porcelain off the john with a fire-hose amount of pressure. I really cannot wait to get out of this city.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Viet Nam Doux edition
Stolen from Denny, who stole it from someone else:
The only thing that can stop the military from winning is theDemocrat American Communist Party. Period.
Once again, just as with VietNam, our government has proven that the only force on this planet which can defeat the US militarily and economically is the Democratic Party.
The only thing that can stop the military from winning is the
Pipe Tobacco part 1
This stuff right here smells like an aromatic when you smoke it, but smokes like an English tobacco. Damn good stuff.
The Mrs. like the smell of it, which is damn near unbelievable.

Not my photo
But it is a photo of the boat we were on.
One of the yacht clubs down here has hooked up with the recruiting battalion to give Soldiers a chance to chill out, relax and go boating. We went out on this boat a couple of months ago, and the Cap'n and I got along like peas and carrots. He keeps inviting me back, and I keep going.
We got some good wind yesterday, and cruised around off the coast of Long Beach. I think the Cap'n enjoys bringing me along so that he can lounge on the bow of the boat with a drink in his hand while I pilot the boat and haul on rope. And that's exactly why I enjoy going along, so it's a perfect relationship.
I came home tired and a little sunburnt, but any day spent sailing is better than just about any other day you can have.

Bows
So, I'm in the market for a compound bow. I've taken some lessons and know how to use one, but I'm not a professional by any means. I want a decent bow that's less than $500.
Any suggestions from the folks out there? I'm going to be using it for hunting; with a bow added to my rifle and muzzle-loader, that'll give me three difference chances to get some venison in my freezer.
Is a sub-$500 hunting bow even feasible?
