One of the greatest sins the Novus Ordo Catholic church ever did was throwing away their musical legacy of praise.

I think the music you find in a modern Catholic church is designed to drive the people away, rather than allow them to sing in praise.  Fine, you go sing some hippy-dippy song from a 1970's musician who's more interested in putting five different time signatures into a song rather than how it actually sounds.  I'll be in my traditional Latin Mass singing Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus".
