Sitting on the couch with both the mutts curled up next to me. The little dog is in a full-blown dream. Nose wrinkling, feet twitching, little yips and growls. It has to be a good dream, because his tail is wagging and thumping the couch. And he's flat-out snoring in-between.
Add in the farts that can peel paint off the walls, and he might just be my four-legged furry doppleganger.
You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once. - Robert A. Heinlein -

Grocery shopping this evening
Went into a local supermarket, did the usual. As we're checking out the Mrs. has to use the lavatory. Which leaves me waiting with the cart next to the stand where they sell newspapers. And I glance at the front pages.
Folks, the New York Times and Washington Post are so far to the Left, so deep into their Trump Derangement Syndrome, that their front pages do not resemble reality anymore. The Richmond Times-Dispatch was almost as bad.
One of two things is going to happen - either these businesses are going to figure out just why people cheer when Trump bitchslaps them in public and start reporting actual news without bias, or they're going to go out of business.
I'm betting on "Going out of Business". Because I highly doubt that any paper that delusional is going to manage any kind of real introspection.

I have one of these
And it's awesome. Woot has them on sale for $18.00. Yukon Scout Sling Pack.
It's a small pack. Perfect for walking around during the day. It has a pouch that will fit a full-sized M1911A1 plus a spare magazine, all nice and concealed.
Davey like.

Stupidity on the highways
Have you ever been driving along, and seen so many people in cars acting the fool at 70mph that you just back off the gas to make sure you don't go anywhere near them?
That was my entire drive home last night. I swear that over half of the drivers took a double dose of stupid pills before they got behind the wheel.

When I say "Kalifornia"
I'm mostly talking about Los Angeles and San Francisco, the two cancers that control the electoral direction of the entire state.
Like when I say that Kalifornia cares more about illegal aliens and the "high-speed" rail boondoggle than fixing crumbling infrastructure, that's because Los Angeles and San Francisco don't give a shit about anybody outside their city limits.
Kalifornia wants to secede from the USA. Which means that LA and SF want to go. I highly doubt that the average farmer living in the Central Valley wants to cut themselves off from the USA and throw their lot in with the mentally diseased freaks that control Sacramento.

More #FakeNews
Nancy Pelosi, Elijah Cummings, and the New York Times. Each one of them a colossal monument to stupidity, hubris and idiocy. And they all fell for a fake tweet from a fake Mike Flynn twatter account.
These people actually think they're smarter than you. They think they're better than you. Let that sink in for a bit.

So gosh, what did you all do to celebrate Saint Valentine's Day?
Yeah. SAINT Valentine. Yesterday was his Feast day. What made him such a saint? Glad you asked!
Valentine was a priest who married Christian couples in Rome under the rule of Claudius II. Claudius didn't want folks to get married. A) he hated Christianity, and B) he thought that if men got married it made them less likely to do their duty in the Roman Army. It's a bit more complex than that, but that's the short-short version.
So Valentine is out there, marrying young lovers against the will of the Roman emperor. He gets arrested. While he's in jail, his jailor tests his faith by asking Valentine to heal his blind daughter's eyes. Valentine prays to God, touches the girl's eyes and she can see. The jailor and his entire family convert.
Even Claudius is impressed with Valentine. So impressed, in fact, that he makes a generous offer to Valentine: Renounce Christ, worship the Roman gods, and Claudius would let him live. Valentine says "No thanks, and hey, you should convert to Christianity and worship the Christ Jesus." That does't go over well. Claudius has Valentine tortured, beaten, and finally beheaded on February 14th.
So I don't do cards or flowers or chocolates for the Mrs. on St. Valentine's day. I do my best to show her I love her every single day of the year. St. Valentine's day is a day to reflect on just how much do I love God.
Do I love him enough to look death in the eye and say "Hey there, you should worship God like I do. Because then maybe you wouldn't be so angry all the time!"
To be honest, I might just say that out of sheer stubbornness.

More #FakeNews by the same shit-swizzling purveyors.
Trump signs an order restricting travel from seven countries. Leftists freak out about it. A US muslim olympian tells her sob story of being detained. Press goes berserk. "OHMYGODTRUMPHITLERNAZI!"
Uh.... nope. That woman was detained under President Obama. In December. Before Trump was inaugurated.
It seems that in their haste to virtue-signal their outrage, all of these journalists and the muslim herself all skipped over that crucial "WHEN" question that any fifth-grader being taught to investigate knows to ask. I believe it's the fourth "W". Who, What, Where, WHEN, and Why.
I now assume that any news report attacking Donald Trump is Fake News until proven otherwise. The level of bullshit, lies and sheer outright fakery that the media is slinging around cannot be chalked up to ignorance or even incompetence. It's deliberate. It's done to try to damage Trump. They're really not even bothering to hide it anymore.

Journalists reacted to the story on social media with the usual mixture of despair and outrage.
The problem with this particular news cycle is that Muhammad was detained in 2016, weeks before Trump had even been sworn in as America's 45th president.

First, it's mind-boggling that no one in that room on Feb. 7 thought to ask her for the exact date on which she was detained. It's a basic duty of journalism to get the who, what, where, when, why and how to every story. That Muhammad's interviewers didn't think to pursue the "when" is astounding.
Secondly, Muhammad isn't blameless in all of this. A less-than-charitable person would suspect her of being intentionally vague and imprecise. She was asked a simple "yes or no" question about the president's immigration order. Instead of giving a simple answer, she provided an anecdote involving the very misleading use of "just a few weeks ago."

All life is fleeting.
I just found out that Connie du Toit died over a month ago.
When the blogosphere first came out, Kim du Toit was THE GUN BLOGGER. His wife Connie was tech support, who eventually started up her own blog. Both of them were some of the most thoughtful, erudite, and devoted people you would ever read. And what's more impressive is the way they were able to impart sheer masses of information through their blogs and into the readers.
I would have loved to be able to take a class from either of them.
I knew that she had been dealing with some health issues from way back. They both stopped blogging years ago, and just sort of faded from public view, although Kim could be found writing here and there, and commenting on a few blogs. I'd send my condolences, but I doubt he needs yet another email from someone he doesn't know reminding him about what he's lost. So I'll be praying for him and for the repose of his wife's soul.
Even the best people have a short time on this Earth.

You need to watch this
A summation of the history of Islam.
She tells more truthful statements in fifteen minutes than most universities do in four years.
