Mrs. du Toit had a few words for an asshatted reporter in the White House Press Corps. Tim placed his bet yesterday on how long it would take before a Democrat American Communist tried to use the tragedy as an excuse for gun control.

Well Tim, how does "less than 24 hours" strike you?

Oh, by the way - the shooter? Not even a US Citizen.

The police department at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University on Tuesday morning identified the gunman who killed at least 30 people Monday as Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old undergraduate senior majoring in English.

Cho, who is thought to have killed himself at the end of the shooting rampage in Norris Hall, was a South Korean national and resident alien from Centreville, Va., about 30 miles west of Washington, D.C. in Fairfax County and adjacent to Dulles Airport and the Manassas Civil War battlefields.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but unless you're a US citizen, it's illegal to possess a weapon in America, right? So tell me just how all the gun-control laws in this case helped prevent the tragedy? This guy wasn't supposed to have a gun in the first place, and yet still got one. Tell me how more laws would help? It looks like there are exceptions to a resident alien owning a firearm, but none of those exceptions look like they apply to Cho.
