Dear people who think that melting Arctic ice is going to raise sea levels.
Please take a glass. Fill it with ice. Now fill it with water. Mark the water level in the cup.
Let all the ice melt.
Check your water level.
GOLLY GEE GOSH, WHY DON'T IT RISE, CLETUS???????

That would be "Professor Cletus Dumbshit,PhD."
There, fixed it for ya.
I forgot to mention that I actually met three PhD's who were stunned by that demonstration some few years ago. I still hang out with one who I call "Professor Dumshit" At least he has the humility to laugh at himself even after all these years.
By the way, my Gov't mandated indoctrination ended at gradulation from Hah Skrool, then my "Education" began. I'm 70 now and the "Education" continues unabated.
Well, you know what Phd stands for, right?
Piled Higher and Deeper.
Most Phds that I know of are in one of the soft majors - English, Theology, etc. Great in their fields, but don't know a damn thing about the hard sciences.
The water level should actually drop as the temperature rises from 32F to 34F (the point of maximum density). It's why ice floats, and frozen water pipes burst -- ice actually grows larger as it melts.
Further science -- it takes as much thermal energy to make the transition from solid to liquid as it would take to raise the temperature of that same amount of liquid water from 32F to 176F (80C).
Sorry, that should be "freezes" in the first paragraph.
