The gunman at an Oregon college targeted his victims based on their faith. From his online presence he's a Black Lives Matters supporter
Oh, and he described himself as a "conservative Republican".
One of these things is not like the other! One of these things just isn't the same......
As a side note, I'm having a hard time mustering up too much emotion over the fact that a transplanted Californian walked into a gun-free, victim-disarmament zone and killed people who meekly stood their like lobotomized sheep. With the exception of one Army vet, who charged the gunman and got shot seven times for doing so, and the rest of the cowardly fucks still stood there and DID NOTHING.
This sort of helplessness is trained into people. We have raised multiple generations of sheep, and we're now getting our reward.
OT, regarding your comment at VD, I've noticed that Obama's foreign policy record is conflated with Bush's foreign policy record in order to discredit Bush's response to 9/11 and generally put down American global leadership despite that the failures followed from Obama's deviation from Bush.
ReplyDeleteTo help talk about Operation Iraqi Freedom, I recommend this bedrock (primary sources) explanation of the legal factual grounds for Bush's decision.
I do agree with all of that. I don't know how many people would be convinced about it over at VP. My point is that even if someone didn't agree with the Iraqi campaign, it was still successful, up until Obama surrendered and ran away.
ReplyDeleteYour point is addressed in the explanation under "Was Operation Iraqi Freedom a strategic blunder or a strategic victory?".
ReplyDeleteThe section contains a number of links. This one in particular illustrates the destructive turn for Iraq of Obama's course change from Bush: sources and a pocket analysis regarding the US "irresponsible exit from Iraq".
