Back home

And I didn't accomplish near as much as I wanted to.  There's a restriction on gas-powered tools up where the parental units live, so you can't use them in the afternoon.  It's a fire hazard, apparently.  I still got quite a bit accomplished, but I could have done more if the entire countryside wasn't ready to go up in flames.

Now back to the normal grind-stone, after dealing with the fun grind-stone.

  1. I've transitioned to almost all battery powered and couldn't be happier. We even just got a circular saw run by two batteries. Yeah - no electricity - no charged batteries. I got it. Until then, I'm enjoying the heck out of them. I've also noted how many of the "pro types" we hire are using battery powered.

  2. My folks have a battery-powered Stihl saw that they use for a lot of the smaller stuff. Works great. But it's a smaller saw, and when I'm dropping a tree that's two-feet in diameter at the base, there's no battery-powered saw that will do the job effectively. The blade on my gas-powered saw is as long as the entire battery saw, and the chain is bigger and more aggressive. I'm not bashing the battery saw, but it can't do everything I need it to do.
