All too true. 21 years of running fighter engines, 20 after that of civilian jets and turboprops, countless thousands of rounds sent downrange and the VA still claims I don't have any hearing loss. Noise cancelling headset? We don't need to use those, we have these nifty 1950's era crystal radio earphones from the Heathkit my Granddad gave me. They're just fine.

Yep, that was my day yesterday. After 20+ years working in the Torpedo Room, the doctor at the Shipyard Clinic adjusted my baseline.
