Hundreds of millions of people worldwide take cholesterol-lowering drugs, like statins, but now a new review suggests that many folks don't benefit from these medications.
The researchers said the review of 35 randomized controlled trials failed to show a consistent benefit in lowering the risk of heart attack or stroke, or for preventing deaths.
Here's a question that most of the medical community seems unwilling or unable to answer: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CHOLESTEROL?
Cholesterol isn't just something that you get from eating. Your body produces cholesterol on its own, and your body doesn't just randomly produce things without there being a purpose behind it. It's essential for your health, folks. You need cholesterol to live a healthy life.
My grandpa died with his cholesterol levels somewhere around 400 mg/dL. He died at the age of 93, and I guarantee that his cholesterol levels didn't just spike up when he was 92. Moreover, the whole "OMG STOP EATING MEAT IT WILL KILL YOU!" line of bullshit is wrong as well. It ain't the cheeseburger from Wendy's that's doing the damage, it's the super-duper-large sized batch of fries you're horking down that's killing you. The cheeseburger is probably the healthiest thing to eat at Wendy's. Except for maybe their chili. Which is made from left-over burger meat.
Getting rid of cholesterol will not help you live longer. Taking drugs to remove cholesterol will not help you live longer. Eating clean will help you live longer, and by clean I mean hormone-free meats and dairy, fresh veggies, and no processed carbohydrates. Don't take drugs, just change your diet.
But anyways, what do I know?
I drink whole milk, use real butter, use olive oil and drink red wine. None of that artificial crap for me.
ReplyDeleteI eat quite a bit of meat. Some veggies, lots of eggs, little processed carbohydrates. We use butter. Lots of butter. Avacado oil, because it has a higher smoke point than olive oil. We do keep some good olive oil for various recipes. Plenty of cheese and other dairy that are good sources of protein. Yogurt. Kefir.
ReplyDeleteMy cholesterol is just fine.
