We don't have it yet, because guns require money and money requires saving, but we found the gun that she'll be getting: A Ruger LC9s Pro. We went to a local place where a gent pulled out various pistols and then drove down to his backyard range and the Mrs. put them through their paces.
Side note: The M&P Shield EZ? Awesome little gun. If you have ladies in your life who don't like the recoil of a 9mm, and can't handle the tiny little grips on most 380's, have them try the Shield EZ. You can literally rack the slide with one finger, but there's enough spring that the recoil is slight. The Mrs. prefers the 9mm, but she also liked the EZ.
So anyways, once we roll up our pennies and save our dimes, we'll be heading out to the shop to pick up her pistol. And from there it's practice, practice, range time, range time, and then concealed carry permit.
Boo-yah, baby.
My EDC is an LC9s-Pro these days. I carry OWB in a Don Hume Belt Slide 80-1. I use the 9-rd mag if weapon doesn't print thru, the short mag if it does. Feeding it Hornady American Eagle JHP in carry mag, Buffalo Bore Outdoorsman LFN hardcast second mag (better penetration than NATO ball).
ReplyDeleteI shot it as well, and I like the gun. The trigger is amazing. If I weren't so set on picking up an Honor Guard, I might have told the shop to have two of the LC9s in stock.
ReplyDeleteAnd she'll be going for the Pro as well. They're not being made anymore, but there's enough inventory that we can still pick one up.
