I have found this to be mostly true

The higher a woman's education, the lower her chance of having kids.

A dearth of marriagable men has left an “oversupply” of educated women taking desperate steps to preserve their fertility, experts say.
The first global study into egg freezing found that shortages of eligible men were the prime reason why women had attempted to take matters into their own hands.
Some women get their education after they've had kids, so there's a sample size out there that skews the demographics a bit.  But a woman's natural desire to marry up means that lots of women out there are going single for a long time.  And sorry ladies, but fertility delayed is fertility denied.  Good luck having kids after 35.

  1. There is definitely more going on than just a shortage of marriageable men. It doesn't take you until your mid-30s to get higher education. My wife got her Masters degree at the age of 24. Although if you get your masters and then work in a female-dominated field like Social Work or Teaching, then I can see why you would perceive a shortage of men.

If you are 35 and you have no kids, then without a doubt you also turned down some very marriageable men in your 20s.

  2. And as somebody who was educated at a male-dominated University and has worked in the male-dominated field of engineering, I have been surrounded almost totally by dudes for my entire adult life. I have seen what happens to women in that situation and how wildly overinflated their sexual marketplace value (and ego) gets. So I'm having a very hard time mustering the sympathy for these women. If they had gone into STEM fields then they could have spent their late teens and 20s outnumbered 2 to 1 by men and basking in the attention. But of course, they didn't because math and science are icky and that's for nerds.

This right here. I can't tell you the number of women who have tried to debate the notion that "good guys finish last", and have failed because I pointed out that while they might have eventually found a "nice" guy later, they were riding the cock carousel of jackasses for over a decade while nice guys weren't even looked at.

By the time they're in their 30's and they find that "nice guy", what they mean is that they've found a desperate sucker who's willing to accept a worn-out vagina and sub-optimal quality of life.
