I first learned this song back in the early 90's.

Choir.  Long story.  Bottom line they tried to make us just learn the melody, and we were all scratching our heads because it didn't make sense.  Madrigal.  They is fun, they is.

Because the melody doesn't make sense until you add the harmony.

I honestly thing this is one of the most beautiful carols ever written.  It's also one of the few madrigal style songs still commonly sung in the modern age.

2-9 Army plays 9-2 Navy

Yeah.  I don't think it's gonna be a good game for me today.

You knew this was happening.

You might not have had proof in your hands, but somewhere deep in your gut, you knew this was happening.

Short short version:  Programs designed to find islamic terrorists get shut down by the Obama administration because Obama cares more about his ideology than he does about keeping America safe.

Oh, and DHS says there are "many holes" in this guy's story.  Lemme ask you a question:  Do you believe a guy who's waving a flag and saying "HEY!  I COULD HAVE STOPPED THIS!", or do you believe the Administration who's first act to the San Bernardino shootings was to convene a meeting to find a way to massage PR, and who told the FBI not to call it terrorism?

Larry Kudlow says to seal the borders

He might not be completely awake, but he's partially swallowed the red pill.

I know this is not my usual position. But this is a war. Therefore I have come to believe there should be no immigration or visa waivers until the U.S. adopts a completely new system to stop radical Islamic terrorists from entering the country. A wartime lockdown. And a big change in my thinking.
ISIS and related Islamic terrorists are already here. More are coming. We must stop them.
Until FBI director James Comey gives us the green light, I say seal the borders.

Screw FBI directer James Comey - don't unseal the borders until the next FBI director, hopefully appointed by someone sane instead of a Marxist muslim sympathizer.

Oh, and while we're at it - stop sending billions of dollars to muslim countries who preach hatred of the Great Satan.  They already hate us.  Let them hate us for free.

Seal the f&*king border with Mexico.  If that causes Mexico's economy to collapse, so be it.  Propping it up with our dollars only last for so long anyways.  If their economy is reliant on their citizens breaking our laws, then their economy doesn't deserve to exist.

Start working on sealing our border with Canada.  I love Canadians, I really do, but they just elected a loony fucking jackass to be in charge, and they're going to let lots of muslims just come on in.  Hopefully the splody-dopes try to cross into the USA in the middle of winter.  On the border with North Dakota.  And we can lug their corpse-sicles to the ocean and drop them on in once we find them in the spring.  But until then, work on controlling that border as well.

Remember, folks:  Nobody has the right to come here.  And we have absolutely zero obligations to allow them in.  Hammer that point home when your liberal acquaintances sputter about Trump or the Constitution.

Early morning typos

Found a typo in yesterday's post.  Found others in previous posts.  I blame blogging while waking up.  But if I don't blog in the mornings, I probably won't blog at all.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is:  Sorry 'bout the mis-spellings, but suck it up and deal with them.

Gun Control?

I think there are people out there who can be convinced that gun control is wrong.  For them, take the time to explain just why gun control is such a bad idea.

But let's face it:  There are plenty of people in American who understand just how bad an idea gun control is, and they want it anyway because they think they'll be in charge.  They'll be the ones writing the schedules for the rail cars.

And the only real thing to say to them is just what that little graphic says.  You come for our guns, we come for you.

Stole the pic from here, where Vox Day points out yet another example of people who want to ban your guns.

Woke up feeling like crap

Went outside into the haze of pollution and crud in the air, and understood exactly why I felt like crap.  I look forward to getting the hell out of here.

Why Trump is important

Vox Day nails it:

That leaves immigration. And here, Trump is the only candidate who is even beginning to address the scope of the existential problem. All the Democrats, and more than half of the Republicans, actually want to make it worse. Even if you don't support him, or trust him, the mere fact that he is in the race has changed the debate on the subject more than the combined efforts of every anti-immigrationist, every open-borders skeptic, and every anti-free trade economist. He has been a literal Godsend in this regard, no matter what happens in the end.

In short, Donald Trump has radically changed the culture, and culture always trumps politics. And that is why petty sniping about the usual politics is not only pointless, it demonstrates that you are too stuck in an intellectual rut to even understand what the rest of us are discussing.

You don't have to support Trump to see that he has pushed the topic of conversation away from what the Democrats want, and towards what the conservative voters want.

Gutless, pathetic cretins

The White House is six different shades of butt-hurt about Trumps proposed Muslim ban.  The worst President in the history of America is saying that Trump deserves to be in the dust-bin of history for daring to suggest that we not allow Muslims into America.

Apparently, he's forgotten that one of his idols actually took American citizens and put them in internment camps.  And yet FDR is spoken of in glowing terms by the Left, which implies that they're really not opposed to draconian solutions, they just want them directed at Republicans this time around.

Love or hate Trumps proposal, here are two simple facts.

Muslims do not have any right to immigrate to America.

Americans do not have any responsibility or obligation to permit any foreigner to immigrate to America.

This is our country.  We can allow who we let in and who we don't.  We should have a say in it.  And until we don't have to worry about some muslim screaming and blowing up day-care centers or shooting up a Christmas party (an attack that was planned a year out, which means right after Mr. Jihad brought Mrs. Jihad in from the Middle East) if we want to tell the Middle East and muslims to go fuck off, then WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO.

The post I linked to yesterday had it exactly right:  With the exception of Ted Cruz, every other Republican nominee is now arguing the very same position as Barack Hussein Obama, the worst president in American history.  They are so hoping that maybe THIS time if they attack Trump that it'll hurt him.  Maybe THIS time Trump's statements will bring him down.

Well Jumping Jehosephat on a pogo stick, how many times is this that they've jumped on the attack-Trump bandwagon and had it bite them in the ass?  With the exception of Cruz, they have proven incapable of learning just what is driving Trump's popularity, which means they have no idea how to get around it, and are constantly fighting a rear-guard action after the fact!  And if they have no idea for the reason behind Trump's popularity, that means that don't have a single clue about what their base wants, which is just more proof of how detached from the actual population the Republican party has become.

Trump is leading because he is finding out what the Republican base wants, and is saying it on the national stage.  Immigration?  The GOP had it's ears plugged and was screaming "LALALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" as the voting base wanted some control put into place.  Trump came out and said "Let's stop this stupidity."  Advantage Trump.

And now on this:  The GOP establishment is so scared of being branded "racist" or "anti-whatever-ist" that they've pissed their pants pre-emptively and already curled into a surrender ball.  Trump just came out and stomped on their dicks.  "Yeah, let's stop bringing people in until we can be sure they don't want to blow us up!"  Advantage Trump.

At this point, I think the only hope the GOP has is the one person they hate more than Trump:  Ted Cruz.  I don't think Trump would make a good President.  Oh, he'd be better than Hillary, and if he gets the nomination I'd vote for him.  But I don't really trust him, I just trust him more than Hillary or that senile fuckwit from Vermont.

But Cruz?  I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.  And from the looks of things, his lead is growing, which is a good thing.

Every other GOP candidate has proven they're so far out of touch with American and the actual GOP voters that I don't know if I'd trust them to pour piss out of a boot with instructions printed on the heel.

Dog whistles and what not

So Donald Trump wants to bar muslims from coming into the USA.  He said so.  Put out a plan talking about it.

And the usual suspects went apeshit.  Ted Cruz didn't.  All he said was "That's not my plan".  Didn't attack Trump.  But that's because Ted Cruz is smart.  The rest of the field, who were so eager to attack Trump, just found themselves in a shitpile of their own making.

So, to put it another way, the day after the President failed to reassure a scared public following the second worst terrorist attack since 9/11 on domestic soil, Donald Trump not only got himself to the right of all the other candidates, but also got every single one of them save for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX to align themselves with Barack Obama.

I think that Trump has been watching the GOP establishment for some time, and he knows exactly how to push their buttons, what to do to get them to react.  And he's playing them for the fools that they are.

In other news, Ted Cruz, who has NOT attacked Trump, and who has NOT jumped when Trump whistled, is now leading Trump in Iowa and is second in other states, with his numbers steadily growing all over the nation.

December 7th

So, dear old dad was born prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  He was just a wee toddler when the Japanese attacked.  My Grandfather spend the next four years on a ship in the Pacific.  I have a rosary, on which hangs the crucifix my Grandfather had on his rosary that he carried with him all that time.  It's the only thing I have of him, except for the memories.

Pretty soon that's all we're going to have of the people who served in WWII.  Memories.  So if you know any WWII vets, shake their hand and thank them.

Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, Evil Exists Edition

It's the comment on a piece over at Instapundit, but it needs to be hammered into people's heads:

The West doesn’t want to admit the appeal of evil, because that would require admitting that evil exists. And if evil exists, then that implies a duty to be good, which they would find onerous and tediously old-fashioned.

The Left (and some of the Right) desperately want "evil" to be just a make-believe concept dreamed up by the toothless, sister-humping Jesus-freak fly-over-country Rednecks.  Because then they don't have to do anything, and they can satisfy their moral preening desire by taking your money and giving it to someone else rather than doing anything of value.
