December 7th

So, dear old dad was born prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  He was just a wee toddler when the Japanese attacked.  My Grandfather spend the next four years on a ship in the Pacific.  I have a rosary, on which hangs the crucifix my Grandfather had on his rosary that he carried with him all that time.  It's the only thing I have of him, except for the memories.

Pretty soon that's all we're going to have of the people who served in WWII.  Memories.  So if you know any WWII vets, shake their hand and thank them.

  1. I still watch "Combat!" when I can. May not be perfect, but it is Patriotic.

next door neighbor, many many years now, was in a Canadian Regiment, D-Day + 1, walked across Europe with a Lee Enfield. At 94 he is one of the toughest guys I ever met.
