Toyota Prius hybrid, driven 20,000 miles per year ,will need enough coal to be burned (to create the electricity to recharge it), to emit 12,052.2 Lbs of CO2 into the atmosphere from the power plant.
Toyota Camry 4 cylinder gasoline engine, 20,000 miles will emit 5030 Lbs of CO2 during its use.(and its a LARGER car)

And yes, I call any car that needs to be plugged in "Coal-Powered".

That's the funny thing about hybrid vehicles -- people act as if the electricity is totally free. And if it's not coal, it's probably natural gas or heavy fuel oil that is generating that incremenal KW-hr.
