Ragin' Dave's Quote of the Day, fuck-you-bigot edition

Via Velociman:

Polygamy is far more globally accepted than gay marriage, for instance. You cannot now deny them those rights, you prejudiced bastards. Under any scenario. The same with adult mother-son or father-daughter marriages. First cousins. Low-functioning idiot-manchild siblings. They have rights, too.

Here, now: marriage isn't a right. It's a constraint! It's how civilization best determined over the last few millennia how we could best keep from killing each other, raping each other, and raise our progeny in a safe environment. Marriage isn't about love, and walking hand in hand with your similarly penised spouse down the street, secure in the fact that your Social Security survivor benefits will legally devolve to your "wife." Marriage truly is a ball and chain, and a beautiful one, that forces us to civilize ourselves, and not revert to our baser animal instincts. Everyone understood that until 10 or 20 years ago.

Another quote from Mark Alger:

Many in the Right who have resisted the whole plunge to legalizing gay marriage have asserted that they are open to persuasion — if they hear any. But, as they (we) say, if you’re going to make such a radical change to the dialectic, overturning 10,000 years and more of practice and tradition and fight against what is at least partly a biologically hardwired social behavior, it’s incumbent upon you to make the case to the rest of your society — especially given that, according to the society’s consensual mechanisms, your initiative is opposed 4:1 or worse.

And… so far, nobody has made the case. The sum of the arguments made so far are, “You poopy-heads! You hate us! We’re only in love! You are just against us because you don’t want us to get married.”

Which, since it bears no resemblance to the counter-arguments, in fact, sidesteps the question entirely, is — as they say — a straw man argument.
You want to know why I'm anti-gay marriage?  I mean, let's set religion aside, shall we, because before I got deeper into my faith I was still anti-gay marriage.

I am anti-gay marriage because when the topic first came up, and I asked why we should change one of the pillars of civilization, and what affect that would have, the response was "FUCK YOU BIGOT!"

And right then, I knew that the people pushing for gay marriage didn't really want it for the reasons stated.

  1. Nailed it, you did.

All we can do now (barring armed revolution) will be to see what this cabal of secular progressives wants to do next in the way of tearing down the historical culture, and rebuilding it in (whatever) model.

I want to see their TOTAL plan for the Neu Kultur. They won't give it, of course, because it would look like the worst of the Inquisition, Idi Amin, Hitler, Stalin and Mao all rolled into one.

I have been saying for about a decade now -- the reason for this push for gay marriage is because there will eventually be laws that require all employers to cover same sex couples for benefits. Until the last decade or two, Liberals didn't even care about marriage and they thought that it was a form of oppression more than anything.
