Yes, I've read it. I still don't know if we just got screwed even worse, or if the seeds to Obamacare's destruction were just sowed.
Look, we were fucked the moment that piece of shit bill was shoved down our throats by the Democrat dictators. There's a reason I call the Democrat Party the American Communist Party. Nancy Pelosi is just about as anti-American as you can get. I'd say she represents San Francisco perfectly.
Best line from Judge Roberts (and I'm paraphrasing): The Courts do not exist to protect Americans from the results of their political choices.
So now the question is how we go about restoring freedom? Can we? Is the ship going down while we all play "Nearer My God To Thee"?
Iowahawk on Twitter: The last time Democrats gloated this hard after a health care victory, they lost 60 House seats. Let's see what it costs them this time around.
Roberts' point may have been valid if "we" had chosen this abortion. But we didn't It was rammed down our throats in a most un-republican fashion.
ReplyDeleteAnd, as a matter of fact, the Court DOES exist to protect Americans, not from their own political choices, but from the unconstitutional choices of others.
As the Declaration puts it, "To secure these rights, governments are instituted among Men..."
M
Yep. Time to abolish this government, and reinstitute the Republic of the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteI've been asking this question on various blogs, plus on the facebook page for Senator Lee, one of my Senators in Utah who used to clerk for Roberts, and I haven't gotten a satisfactory answer yet.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the results of the decision, but in reading the Roberts opinion, I can't find a reason to fault either his reasoning, the precedents cited, nor the legal principles he applied in formulating his opinion.
I know Constitutional law isn't your area of expertise, but I think Roberts is getting a bum rap here. So when I see a blog post slamming him, I have been asking, if you have read the opinion, exactly where to you think Roberts is in error, other than that you don't like the results.
Like I say, I'm still waiting for a satisfactory answer. If the opinion is valid, the only approach I can recommend is to elect Romney, elect a Republican majority in the House and Senate, and repeal the damn thing.
