No women in the infantry. No way, no how. The fact that this is even being considered shows just how fucking ignorant people are about the military and about our job. Holy Jumping Jehosephat on a pogo stick, just what do we have to do before the fucking stupid fairy stops beating people like this?
Dear lord, I didn't need to see that. I'm going to go buy a bottle, drink it completely dry, and then beat myself unconscious with it. Maybe I'll wake up and this will be nothing but a bad dream.
Times like this, I'm glad I'm retired. Truth is, there were times while I was active that I wished I were retired!
ReplyDeleteI'm really tired of the military being used as a social experiment by people who don't understand about the military.
If you haven't served, you don't understand. And that's okay - a lot of my friends haven't served, and don't understand. But they're not trying to use the military for PC purposes, either.
I need to stop now, before my blood pressure gets too high. Medical care for military retirees ain't what it useta.

I'm going to disagree Dave. I'll buy you another bottle, but put that one down and listen for a few.
ReplyDeleteIt really doesn't make a damn bit of difference what sex the killers are we put in uniform. IF THEY ARE KILLERS. If they don't have the smart, collected, cool, killer instinct, you don't want women OR men out there.
My oldest daughter went to Desert Shield as a wire-comm tech, a MOS 2512. When she got there, as a buck Corporal (USMC), it turns out she was the senior WM in the whole damn 2MEF, HQ BN (there weren't any other Marines in any other BNs). So she was made the NCOIC of the WMs, all 22 of them. Then, it turned out that the BN had no Broadband/Satellite repair people, so they dumped THAT job on her. She was now running ALL the COMM repair except field radios. She handled it.
Desert Shield became Desert Storm and the HQ BN moved out North. The WM were supposed to stay behind, but the MEF couldn't comm without them, so they went too. Then Saddam started with the Scuds, and they all did their work in MOPP gear...
Then when they got back, the USMC denied that they'd been in the combat zone...dau was supposed to get a trip to Warrant School out of it, but the Corps reneged on THAT too, prob figuring that too many tales would get told over too many beers...
Naw, Dave...they've been there, they can do the job, IF YOU PICK THE RIGHT ONES!
I hear you, Dog. But I'm a retired submarine sailor. I just don't know how I'd feel about guys and girls showering together, or how I'd feel about my daughter showering with the guys. Okay on the combat thing, and the lifting stuff thing. I've never claimed that girl people were weaker, or not as smart, or any of that stupid stuff. But the simple biological fact is that girl people have girl parts, and boy people have boy parts, and 90 days is a long time to spend underwater. Your mileage may vary.
