For those who don't know, the month of October in the Catholic Church is dedicated to the Rosary, which in it's basic form is a prayer (or prayers, depending on your point of view) said to the mother of Jesus asking for her intercession with her son. I won't get into the theological aspects of everything on this blog, because to be quite frank I don't know if I'm the best guy to have a theological discussion with. But when I was the choir director of my chapel, I always wanted to hear "Ave Maria" by Schubert in October. A simple prayer, set to music.
Ave Maria was set to music by a whole host of different composers, but this one has always been my favorite.
