So, I quit smoking some time ago.  Up until then, I had been a hard-core smoker for years, with all the resulting health problems that come with it.  I was pretty much at hypertension levels when I left my last post, which was a result of both smoking and the insane levels of stress I was dealing with.  After I quit smoking, I starting running a bit more, trying to "be healthy", although it was more stress relief than anything else.

Anyways, when I was in the doctor's office a little while ago, the nurse checks my blood pressure, looks up at me and says "You're a runner, aren't you?"  I say yes, and she says "With blood pressure this good, you've got to be some kind of athlete."

Sometimes, it's just the little affirmations that keep you going.  They're cutting hay around here, and my allergies are in full-on "Knock Dave Flat" mode.  My run today wasn't all that great, but that nurse's comment kept playing in my mind.  I just hope I can do this thirty years from now.
