I've been growing a goatee out while I've been away from work. I hate shaving. I truly do not like scraping my chin clean every morning. It's annoying and time consuming. So I let it go while I'm on leave. I looked in the mirror yesterday as I was getting ready for bed, and damn..... there's a lot of
grey silver in that there beard.
And I'm not that old, either.
Ah well, that reminds me of why I took the mustache off to begin with.
High and tights also hide a lot of grey, as noted by the Wife every time I return from a deployment and let it grow during terminal leave. I just feel lucky to still have hair on top.
ReplyDeleteAHHH, now you know why I let my 'stache go way back when I was 31!
ReplyDeleteI'm not giving up the goatee. Used to dye it, every month or so, for about 5 years after it started getting gray. But, now that it's nearly ALL gray, I think it looks much better, and I leave it alone.
ReplyDeleteStill shave my head every spring, and keep it that way until fall.
.....and I'm only 46, but, like I always say, it ain't the years, it's the mileage....
I actually started going grey when I was 23 at Ft. Riley. My NCOIC, a big tall bastard was talking to me when he suddenly reached out, yanked a grey hair out of my head and started laughing. "YOU'VE GOT MORE GREY HAIR THAN I DO!"
ReplyDeleteWhen I got out, it went back to brown. Since I've re-enlisted oh these many moons ago, I've gotten all the grey back and then some.
